Had a tasty meal with friends. The soup was delicious and the chicken special was well prepared. My husband loved the lamb and mashed potatoes.

My son and I found this place by accident after seeing a show. It was a little disconcerting at first because there was no there to seat us. A friendly waitress told us we could sit anywhere we'd like. (I'd recommend sitting in the back away from the bar. It was still noisy, but not so bad that you couldn't hear when you were talking to someone else.) The waitress was very attentive and took our orders immediately. The steak sandwich I ordered--which was more like a panini--was excellent. It had sauteed onions, avocado and arugula and was cooked the way I requested. The fries were also great--crisp and not too heavy. My son's ordered a Mexican chopped salad with chicken. When it arrived, they forgot to include the chicken. The waiter immediately took care of it. I was told the salad was good. Other than the noise, this was a real find and we'd definitely come back.

Very good service ... great personality and overall friendliness from waitress ( Rachael) Food was coming very fast and was also nice .. Note — asked for champagne and was offered Champagne from California which for a European is impossible as only France can make champagne ..

We were staying in the area and needed something simple. We ordered our drinks and food, and enjoyed the drinks, even though we didn't have any of their countless specialty beers. Staff were all friendly, and the food was hardy and good. The Shepards Pie was very tasty and filling, and the chicken pot pie had nice flavours, and just the right amount of "pie."

After the play we went to have dinner and one of the girls I was with had been here before so we went . It was great , the place is nice ,the service was good and the food prefect. Two of my friends had the steak and it was cooked just the way they wanted it . I had the lobster fettuccine with lots of lobster pieces in it. There was so much that I took the left overs home. The other girl had the salmon and it came out moist and flaky.

We visited Jack Doyle’s Irish Pub in early December and absolutely loved the place! As a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, it can be a challenge finding a place to watch their games outside of Minnesota. Lucky for us, we found Jack Doyle’s—a Vikings bar!!! Beyond that important feature, the bar was decked out in full Christmas decorations (which looked amazing and added to the already festive ambience), they served excellent pub food, and had very friendly and efficient bar, host, and wait staff. The Thai chicken wings were incredible and the Cut Above sandwich was really good! Happy to recommend Jack Doyle’s to anyone looking for a great NYC pub experience (even better if you’re a Vikings fan, but not required to have a great time)—Skol Vikings!

Absolutely amazing service we got here. Have been to NY twice now and return again soon and both times this was our local. The food was amazing our waitress Ciara from Ireland was absolutely brilliant one of the main reasons we returned. We asked if we could get strawberry Daquaris which they had no fresh strawberries. The bar woman went out and bought some to make them for us I dont think youd get that service in any other pub in NY. The staff are absolutely amazing. Will be returning soon.

Sadly we had just missed happy hour, really need to get ourselves organised! But not to worry.... big generous free pour for my lychee martini and a craft beer for the hubby. Nice cheery waitress. Sat trying to figure out American football. Fun atmosphere. Lots of people about, as always.

We came in just before 5 on a Friday and the atmosphere was already lively. We were seated by the front windows and were treated to a parade of New Yorkers who were getting off work or just heading in. It was fascinating people watching. I had the Fish & Chips and my daughter had the Chicken Pot Pie. Both were really good and came out quickly. The service was prompt and attentive without overdoing it. One of my favorite things to see is a place that attracts a wide variation of people, and this place does that. All colors, all ages were seen here and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Well done.

Visited for evening meal with our 2 teenagers! Reasonably priced food and friendly staff! Other reviews had stated “too noisy” but we found it fine

Great food and fun atmosphere. Thought we’d try it based on the reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Right off Times Square but away from the business. Food was really good but beer selection isn’t that great. Definitely recommend!

Typical sports bar with untypical food. Drinks as expected. Different cocktail specials daily. Food menu was unusual and seemed all homemade. Daily specials were excellent and fresh. Excellent pizzas served at the bar, and the “deconstructed” nachos were amazing,

Miserable very cold rainy night. Met with a very nice warm friendly barmaid. Enjoyed very pleasant tasty fish and chips and being non-drinkers 2 glasses of iced water. Sadly, the pleasantries finish there!! The barmaid (who didn’t even bring meals to our table): - after several visits to our table, asking if we wanted anything else, then was all ok with the food, then taking one plate before other was finished; brought the bill and after the additional tax left approximately 10% change which she presumed to keep, she did not bring us the change for us to decide whether or not or what amount of gratuity to leave. So, we left feeling very annoyed.

Ordered the steak fajitas, the guacamole was nice, very tasty. The steak on the other hand was not too appealing and was very bland and lacked seasoning.

This place is simply beautiful. Our hotel was next door and after we saw the beautiful decor, the great atmosphere, wonderful food and awesome service, we came back 4 times! Draganna was our server and was the best!! Breakfast is one of the best! A NYC must-do!

Four of us went to Jack Doyle's for a special occasion and I requested a quiet area where we could talk. We were seated upstairs and enjoyed a long lunch with no pressure to move on. The food was delicious, my husband had the fish and chips, others had sandwiches and we were all pleased. We were there for hours and the staff was considerate with no pressure on us to leave (it wasn't crowded or we would not have stayed so long). Our friends liked the beer selection too. Prices very reasonable. I highly recommend this pub!

Love this place its massive and have lots off tvs i went with my friends to watch the NFL game they even have buffet on the second floor too great snacks, staff also very friendly definitely will hit it again!

I went there with a friend two nights in a row. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. This restaurant has a warm atmosphere and is cozy. Well located it is a place worth a detour or simply stop in while in this central area.

We found this bar on the first night of our seven night stay in New York. We liked it so much that we have eaten there every evening. And even one early Sunday morning as we watched England thrash Panama on one of the many screens in the bar! The waitress's are always friendly, as seems to be the case with most New Yorkers and are quick to serve. The menu is varied and not too expensive, and blue moon beer is 8 dollars a pint. But well worth it:-) Food we have eaten there & can recommend is steak sandwich & chips, sausage & mash, shepherds pie, fish & chips and a very nice New York cheesecake for dessert! So if you are in this great city give this pub a visit & guarantee yourself a nice meal at a good price!

Had a few drinks here tonight. Beautiful bar. Friendly efficient bar staff. Drinks reasonable compared to New York prices. Crazy expensive compared to Irish prices! One food waiter we encountered was extremely rude. Small dark haired guy with glasses in a wine t shirt. He had an absolutely disgusting attitude and is in the wrong job. We are here for a couple more days and would drink here again but definitely not eat here. Incidentally the food was fine. Basic but fine.

Looking for somewhere to eat we spotted this Irish bar. Uk football was showing and the bar was busy. Nevertheless, drikVisited this barl/restaurant few times trying out different meal and drink options. Staff are are friendly though busy. Various sports showing at different times of the day - from UKTV football to US Football etc.

An excellent selection of local and international beers. Plus cocktails of course. The food is great quality and a good price. We've made it our local go-to place during our week in NY.

We went there to have a few beers. Christmas decoration was on point. We were hungry so we ordered some food, I honestly did not expect much, it’s a pub after all... but the food was VERY good. We had some wings and angus beef. Only down side was that the service was slow. The waitress forgot about one of the beers and took so long to bring it that my girlfriend and I had to share the same beer for a while. The place is beautiful.

Had a lovely family meal here. Even though it was quite busy the atmosphere was great and the staff were welcoming. Lots of choice on the dinner menu. Good food and very tasty.

This was my first time to New York. Wanted to try interesting nonchain restaraunts. This was a fun little pub. Waitress was great. Food was excellent. Would go back.

If you want good food and a friendly atmosphere then look no further than Jack Doyle's. Yes you can get the usual burgers etc but this place offers a good range of food; steaks, rack of lamb etc. We were looked after by a lovely young girl named Rachel, very attentive and pleasant.

Very crowded. Had reservation. After we ordered it took over an hour to get our food. The waitress was hard to find and our ordered never went through the computer. I think the waitress forgot to put our order in. Food was just ok I ordered Sheppards pie Service was terrible. Probably wont go back

Visited this Irish Restaurant because I like the Irish pubs. We ordered mussels and ribeye steak salad. These plates was tasty. And I of course Guinness beers

Whenever the Minnesota Vikings play, this bar turns into an official Vikings bar complete with all the tvs focused on the game with most people wearing purple including the bar staff. We have been here twice to watch the Vikings and it was always a fun experience, didn't hurt that we are 2-0 in wins watching the game here.

I loved the lobster fettuccine pasta with the Guinness Beer!!!! Delicious, the service and the price are good also! I would like to come back soon

Had good with for New York was not badly priced and was really we cooked and tasted fabulous. We also had drinks with the meal and were priced ok for New York. A few days later returned for more drinks and again prices were ok and staff fabulous

Nice place, nice atmosphere. We saw him coming back to the hotel one day. The next day, which was snowing lightly we went for a while to make time. The perfect atmosphere, college basket on the TVs (a fan suffering next to us), music at a friendly volume, allowing conversation. Guiness barrel, not found in Peru. Just perfect.

Hey Brendan! I want to thank you so much for making our St Vincent’s Hospital, School of Nursing, 60th Reunion celebration a great time! The Christmas Decor set the scene and your girls are just amazing as were the gentlemen who helped with the set up and clean up. We loved that beautifully, comfortable space they set for us- all low top tables and quickly responding to any of our requests. It made for a warm, homey, atmosphere; it was like one, big, happy family, your staff included. The food was excellent and the colorful, customized menus you created were lovely. It was so easy to make arrangement with you and you were very accommodating. I would highly recommend your place and we are planning to come back next year for our 61st! Thank you from all of us!

We had some time to spend and looking for somthing to eat nearby so we went inside and we wern't despointed The music was good and the atmosphere was ok. Food 2as avarage and the staff was freindly and halpfull.

We found this by accident when we were beginning to despair of finding somewhere to eat that didn't cost the earth. Eating out in New York is mega expensive. On a Friday night it was very busy but not unpleasantly so. We returned the following night . Both times we were pleased with our meal.

Great authentic atmosphere So clean Happy staff Great food! Really love popping in here when in town Nice menu Try the cauliflower app Salads fresh Nice drinks Friendly patrons A neighborhood feel

I came across this restaurant while trying to find a good place to eat near Madison Square Garden prior to a concert. My friend and I were both very pleased with our experience. The decor was a typical Irish pub feel with a big wooden bar, multiple TVs, and high top tables on the first floor with additional seating on a second floor. I had a bbq chicken wrap with fries with seasonal mango cocktails which were very refreshing on a hot day. I would dine here again if in the MSG area again.

Was advised to come here by the staff at our hotel and did not disappoint! I had the steak sandwich and was amazing, everyone else in my party had fantastic food as well and we were very happy with the price as well! 10/10

We were looking for a place to rest our feet, drink some cold beers and watch a little sports on TV. This seemed like a good sports bar to do that. The beer was cold and very expensive but this is NY...no big deal. So my buddy and bar full of patrons were watching the Yankee game on multiple TV's. bottom of 8th, tie game and the bartender switches the damn TV's to soccer, taped Hockey game and the nature channel!! We all started screaming WTF! The bartender seemed un-phased so most everybody angrily paid their tabs and left. Needless to say , we passed this bar up for the rest of our trip!

You got the noisy happy hour folks crowding the bar. Two tops and four tops near the entrance are quieter. Decent sandwich and pot pie with a good assortment of beer at $5 during happy hour. It is what it is, and that is good enough.

This was near our office building so I thought we'd try it for lunch. Wasn't hungry for a big lunch so the specials were perfect. I had a really good grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and fries. Very tasty and made perfectly. Just right for lunch. The place as spotless and the service was good. I would love to try it for dinner on my next visit.

Found this on our first night and excellent service from a friendly bar man. Had a few drinks and returned to watch football final. Food and service great again. Would definitely recommend.

I visited here with my wife just over a week ago I wouldn't know what the food was like never got that far. We sat at a table and ordered some drinks while we looked at the menu we asked the waitress if they had rose wine she said yes so we ordered one and a beer for myself, when it arrived we could see it was white wine which I pointed out to the waitress who said quite abruptly it was rose it was just the light, I shone my phone on it to show her it was white wine she then said well that's all we've got very rudely and walked away, now if she had said in the first place they didn't have rose it wouldn't have been a problem but the fact she was lying to us and her terrible attitude I said you can take it back I'll drink my beer and we're leaving, she came back and slammed the bill on the table I paid with a $20 bill she came back with my change and she had taken a $1 tip for herself which i actually found funny she must really need it. I travel to nyc quite often I will not be going back.

My wife and I were in NY and got this recommendation from a family member to stop at this establishment for a quick bite. When we got there the hostess greeted us right away. We were sat within a few minutes upstairs. The waitress came over right away and took our order. The food was good. I had the truffle flat bread and a burger and my had the chicken special. All came out promptly and hot. Good food at a good price. If were go back to NY, we would definitely go back.

We came here twice to watch Arsenal play during our Christmas holiday. If you are an Arsenal fan, this is a great pub away from home to watch the games. It opens early for breakfast and screens the games. The local Arsenal fans are friendly and it has a good atmosphere.

Yesterday we stumbled across Jack Doyle's and thought we should give it a try. We were friendly greeted by the barkeeper and served immediately. At midnight I asked for a song to celebrate my birthday and the barkeeper made my wish come true. To be fair, his playlist was AMAZING anyways! Thank you very much for your hospitality, your sense of humor and your professionalism, Sean! You rock!

Very good and plentiful food, nice and clean environment, friendly and efficient staff. The price is also excellent.

A decent selection of food made choosing from the menu easy. The onion rings we shares as an appetizer were scorching hot — straight from kitchen, no time wasted to let them go cold. The bangers, mash, and beans looked very tasty, and I enjoyed my lamb shank in a thick tasty sauce, which some nice fresh veggies and mash. My friend had the chocolate mousse which I am told was very rich (yummy), and I tried the tiramisu, which was a little dry and lacking in booze, but not bad. They have Smithwicks on tap there, which as one of my favorite beers was a nice plus.

The place was decorated in Christmas lights which made it warm and cozy on a January night. Our waitress was excellent, the food was good, and the prices pretty good too.

Food was lovely and great choice on the menu, meals and snacks,Really enjoyed this bar, could nt help coming back over our time in New York, really nice Irish lads behind the bar upstairs and downstairs, had great craic and chat

Only found Jack Doyle's on the day we was leaving after a 5 night stay. We received a lovely welcome and the bar is spotlessly clean and impressive. We had the Irish Breakfast reasonably priced at $13 and wow it didn't disappoint, we can honestly say it has to be the best cooked breakfast we've had in a long time. Heading back to New York next year ... guess where we will be dining? Brilliant, staff, good atmosphere and superb food.

I like this place, it's a pub pub, no messing about, good drink good prices, get ur self here if u don't want to mess about going to all these food places. Good for sports aswell

directly across from the hotel i was staying at. great place for a drink. bartender was very attentive.

Visited for drinks and some lunch one afternoon. Nice clean looking bar with tables for eating and good service. Tried the burger and the shepherds pie. both pretty good.

Went for a late lunch with my 2 adult daughters, four days before Christmas. Place was busy, and service a bit slow as a result. But the staff was pleasant and did their best to stay on top of everything. I am vegetarian and my daughter, Gluten Free. There are many options for vegetarians, and the waiter told us that the GF options are not listed on the menu, but can be requested and substituted. Nachos were very tasty. The entire restaurant and the bar area were Very Clean and decorated for Christmas! Bathrooms were pretty clean and looked-after even with the place being busy. We would definitely return here for lunch, dinner or cocktails. Prices were very reasonable. Would be a good option for families with children since it is not overly quiet or made for just drinking.

My family ate here upon our recent trip to New York. The food was amazing. We had a great time in this place. The staff all were very friendly. The hostess is such a sweetheart, she goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. The food was amazing and the menu was full of variety, from more traditional Irish choices to wraps and burgers. Good drinks menu too. We will definitely come back!

Food and service was very good. Well decorated. Walking distance from Penn station. Nice selection of beers.

Stopped in late on a Saturday night for a couple of drinks and an app. We had never been here before and it was packed but then saw a sign that you could go upstairs so we headed upstairs and and employee met us as we were on the stairs and took us to a great seat in the corner. It was really busy and we had a great time. Shared the chicken quesadilla which was really good. Great staff.

Jack Doyle's is a great pub. Fantastic Irish staff along with great food and of course beers! Jack's is nice and big, with a menu too match. Treat yourself to the real thing, you won't be disappointed.

Jar an 11 AM business meeting there, everything decorated for Christmas. Really comfortable atmosphere. Bars and tanbles upstairs and downstairs, attentive wait staff, very efficient. See pictures.

We went to Doyle's a couple of time for pre-dinner drinks. Friendly Irish bar serving what looked like nice food.

It's a typical Irish Pub, a little more touristy than local, but I still like coming here. I have some friends who work nearby and it's a great place to meet them for lunch. They have a nice selection of cold beers, and the food- if you like typical Irish grub- you will like the food here. You can't go wrong with the Fish & Chips, I will alternate between that, the Bangers & Mash and the Cottage Pie- all frich and filling. Sometimes I sit at the bar, but if you want to have some some quiet time, I suggest booking a table upstairs. They get busy at lunch, so have a little patience, but once you order, it comes pretty quick!

Discovered Jack Doyles last year, so didn't hesitate to come back when returning to NYC this year. It helps that it's a short walk from Hotel Metro where we stayed! As before, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food as lovely and tasty as it was last year. Their long opening hours allowed us to try breakfast one day, which was excellent and certainly set us up for the day! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a meal or just a few drinks.

We went here for lunch today. The fish and chips was nice. My fajitas was okay but with a strange taste. Good service and cold beer. Okay place!

This restaurant, located on 35th street, is an Irish sports bar. We were there on a Saturday night and it was unbelievably load. There was a West Virginia-Kentucky basketball game on.bthere must have been 20 WVU alumni there going nuts as WVU was beating Kentucky. We left at halftime but I was glad to see in the morning that Kentucky came back to win. I'll bet Jack's got real quiet for the second half. The food was just ok.

My wife and I were staying up the block at the Renaissance Hotel after seeing the musical "Beautiful" on W. 43rd. After the show we stopped in for a few cocktails and enjoyed our time. I was here before and it seems many of the employees are brought over from Ireland and they are a gem to talk with. Ask the bartender about their sport "hurling" and I'm sure he will give you a lively explanation and should you his hurling stick. I really like the atmosphere here and it wasn't crowded at all on a Thursday evening, most likely as there was no events at the MSG, which is one block over on W. 34th, and the last time I was in this bar was during the Big East tournament and it was packed! For drinks and atmosphere I recommend the place!

Lovely food - they Have a specials menu, bar menu and normal menu available. The Ruben sandwich is amazing and the Jameson’s washed it down well too. Would defiantly recommend. Service was great from Diana too.

Stopped for a few pints and wasn't disappointed. Nice old style Irish pub with good choices on tap and whiskey. Prices were good. Bartenders were friendly and very attentive. I will definitely be going back.

Good place close to Madison Square garden to have a quick meal and drinks. Upstairs was nice. Loud but expected. The cauliflower appetizer was good. The lobster fettuccine was just OK. Not much lobster and the sauce was just OK. Service was very good. Restroom was clean. I would recommend it to others.

We were guests on the night but we are looking forward to going back to sample the delights of this place again. We enjoyed the evening immensely & look forward to going back to further explore the extensive menu. Brendan, the proprietor, spent some time with us eventhough the place was quite busy. We enjoyed a thoroughly beautiful meal & the service was also excellent. We would happily recommend Jack Doyles to anybody wishing to eat in this area.

We were surprised by the quality of the food. We had the chicken and it was tasty. Made with olives and capers. Delicious. Also had a nitro driven dark beer by left hand and a signature drink of absolute and lime. Was very clean. Loved the wood and flooring. Lots of tvs, we watched some football and tennis.

Had a wonderful family meal here on our last night in NYC. Best food of the trip ! Helped on the night with a great atmosphere as the NY Rangers were playing in the play offs and the bar was full which only added to the experience . We booked ahead which proved a good move. Would definitely recommend !

Found this bar on our second day of a 5 day honeymoon and what a gem, the food was fantastic and the rasp stoli was to die for. All the staff were exelent and very much on the ball but a special mention to Steve he never let our glasses run dry and would have a chat when he could (know ones who Millwall are). Overall a great bar with fantastic staff, Vodka and food

The bar was very nice with several built in big screens and wasn’t too crowded. Was a nice place but the bar service was pretty slow and the beers were NYC steep. So, a nice place but nothing unforgettable except the company.

Went here for lunch today. Didn't seem extremely busy. The pub is nice inside, wish I could say the same about it the service. Only 2 people in our party. Had to go to the bar and get my own refills. As far as the food we got a sandwich special, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo it was ok. Not sure if I would make a special trip to try this again.

Excellent bar with fab atmosphere. Knowledgeable staff. Went for a drink and stayed for a few hours having dinner too. Food excellent too.

I am seriously impressed, I travel a lot, I eat out most nights of any given year, I stopped by this place as it was near to my hotel and I’m so pleased I did. Got some hot calamari which was better than everything I’ve tried in Italy, so crisp so well cooked, figured these guys can deep fry so I try some Louisanana chicken tenders and oh my damn, the sauce is spicy and smooth, the tenders are cooked to perfection. Only downside is the portions were so good I only managed two dishes. I’ll be back. Don’t change the chef.

Lovely atmosphere, okay prices, lovely British bartender. Great location! Great for watching a game or catching up with friends.

We stopped here for the French onion soup which was highlighted on the sandwich board on the sidewalk, but found it to be very average, lacking in flavor, and not using the traditional Gruyere cheese. The Reuben sandwich had a strange soapy flavor, and two pieces o silverware still had food on them, and there was a quite large piece of food left on the placemat from a previous diner. Would not go back again.

Whilst walking around the area we wanted a drink and stumbled across this place so we went in . Nothing fancy about it but good beer and service.

Food was amazing, but the front of house staff need training. She sat there most of the evening on her phone. When I asked for the menu’s she said she didn’t see us coming in and she is the front of house.

We made this our local as our hotel was round the corner. Fantastic place, friendly and welcoming. The first night we just had drinks, Nathan behind the bar is great. We also had an evening meal here as well, i had the most fantastic steak ever! All very reasonably priced. Service is great too, made to feel very welcome. Next time I visit New York this bar will see me and my husband again! Thank you!!

Sat at the bar for Saturday night dinner with my son. Great pub. The Guinness was very good. Best I’ve had since Ireland. Wound up talking to the guys next to us who were visiting New York from Ireland. Food was good. It was more the atmosphere and conversation we enjoyed. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely return!

We made reservations here for our visit to NYC to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden (it is conveniently just a couple blocks from the arena). When you walk in, you immediately get that European pub feel, with the dark wood walls and long bar. The tvs show soccer games and other events and the music is good (and not too loud). The food was very good. We had the Doylers (which were chicken sandwiches). We also had the salads, which were good and quite large. Good atmosphere, good food and good service. What more could you ask...other than bagpipes. We will go here again on a future visit to NYC.

Lovely pub and atmosphere very Christmassy at the moment which we liked. Prices were ok for NYC and they didn’t add their own tip onto the bill which we liked. Ate once in the food was ok just personal preference really but good options. We stopped off most nights on the way back to our hotel. Staff were very friendly and quick to serve too never waiting long for drinks even when it was busy.

Came here for a drink, and enjoyed it sufficiently that we returned for lunch the next day. It was a good decision. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is good. Would happily recommend.

The greeter at the restaurant is very friendly and attentive. The service is wonderful. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The food menu is extensive with lots of options to choose from. Salads are great and fresh. I had the lamb chops which were tastefully prepared. I would highly recommend.

What a great Irish Pub/Sports Bar. Came in on a Monday night and sat at the bar. Guy was my bartender and he did a great job. Had the sandwich special, which was a take off of a steak wrap. It was very good. they also have Jameson Caskmates specials, can't beat it. They also have a tremendous amount of tv's, so you can see your favorite sports team. Sounded like they were doing some trivia on Monday night. This is a place I will definitely be coming back to.

The wife and i have visited new york every year sometimes twice a year over the last 6years and always stay just round the corner from this bar, we always go here as it has a good atmosphere and entertainment/ sports etc. Our last visit being over christmas with our children 18 and 16, we ate in here a couple of times and both times after we had finished eating even though we were still drinking we were given the bill and felt as if they wanted us out so they could have the table for someone else, the second time i said were going to have some more drinks after we've finished our current ones then we were given the bill again even though we didn't want to leave we just gave up and went elsewhere, i don't get it we were spending about $200-250 a time when we were in there, such a shame as we used to love this place but just doesn't seem the same anymore. we used to recognise the staff but not anymore and just feels like we were rushed on both occasions

We stopped here for lunch as it was close to our hotel. It was a good experience. Our waitress was from Ireland even. :-) I had the Shepherd’s Pie which was quite good. Would definitely visit here again when in NYC.

If you hit this place for lunch at the bar they have a great menu with items priced right. We had drinks only but the food next to us looked great.

Great bar, food was lovely. Staff efficient and friendly. We stayed in the Renaissance Midtown Hotel beside Jack Doyle's so popped in a few times for food and drinks.

The food is awful there is not much else to say. Our server was fast getting our drinks and food, even if the food was bad it’s a cool bar.

There are so many great restaurants in NYC, so don’t waste your time at this one. Food is mediocre at best. Scallops were over cooked and marinara sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. They only sell one brand of wine by the glass and it isn’t good. Disappointing!

We have eaten here and just come in for beers, service every time has been excellent, all servers were superb. Had dinner as well, food excellent, large portions and no problems with any dishes ordered. Would definitely return when in NY again.

Nice Irish pub. Popped in for a quick pint. The service was excellent. Good selection of drinks and beers on tap.

Easy and convenient spot for a bit and drink before a Rangers game. Close to MSG. It was crowded but not slammed. We got a table. Pub food was pretty good and the staff was very nice. I'd go here again.

Fish breading was raw dough (!) on the inside, super greasy on the outside. Served without tartar and lemon; I had to ask for them and wait 5 minutes to get them. I ended up pulling off the breading and just eating the fish, as I was on my way to the airport and had no time to go elsewhere for lunch. Fries were soft and room temperature when they arrived. As for the service, I’m a solo female traveler and as such am somewhat used to being ignored but this was the worst. I waited at the door 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence and seat me. Bartender finally did and gave me a menu then completely forgot about me, chatting and laughing with another employee for a good 15 minutes before she noticed me waving my arms to get her attention. Didn’t even have the grace to apologize for forgetting I was there when she finally came to take my order. Mind you, the place was nearly deserted with only a handful of customers at the bar. Finally got my food and was halfway through my meal when a worker showed up with a rotary metal grinder (this was 1:30 in the afternoon; they couldn’t have waited until no one was there eating lunch?!) and started working not 5 feet away, as if I wasn’t right there eating. The noise was terrible, the smell was even worse. It absolutely ruined the rest of my meal. Not a single employee even gave me a second’s thought during this rude intrusion, nor had anyone ever once checked during my meal. Worst restaurant experience of my entire life, and I’m not young.

My wife and I had lovely few days in New York and went to Jack Doyle's and had a great meal with very good portions and quality. We enjoyed it that much we went back twice and on the first return visit we were in a hurry as it was valentines day and the Eagles were playing at Madison Square Gardens which we were going to and Gloria at the door went out of her way to get us in and again on our last visit before flying back we had a quick bite and again the staff were great

We ended up at this pub as an alternative to the place we were planning had an event. That being said, we were truly impressed with this restaurant. The fish and chips and the bangers and mash were really delicious. In addition, the waitress made sure to quickly get us ingredient information for my wife who has a very specific food allergy. I definitely recommend checking this place out.

My wife, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this place. The drinks were good, the server Rachael was excellent, pleasant receptive and could take 3 orders without hiding behind a note pad. In other words she could take an order and listen and get it right without writing it down. Nice. Food came warm and good. the Calamari was good although did appear to be the frozen kind. Daughter got the Shepards Pie, it was very good, arrived hot and tasty. Wife got the the Doyler ( a chicken and pesto sandwich) it was a bit dry. I got the Ruben, it was very good, warm, tasty and plant of tender corned beef.

Quick dinner on a business trip. Food very good. Fish & Chips great! Wait staff very attentive. Would definitely go again!

We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening after the Vikings/Giants game. We were seated quickly and the hostess was nice. We ordered burgers and at first they looked good. However when we bit into them, they were very undercooked. We didn’t have the chance to even talk to someone about it because absolutely no one came to ask how things were tasting. We wanted refills on our drinks as well but again, no one to even ask. I wouldn’t eat here again.

We went here for a quick dinner before going to the rodeo at MSG. My husband did say that they poured a nice Guinness. We started with fried calamari which was tasty, and then had chicken sandwich, burger & steak tidbits. I would say that they were just ok. Could have used a bit more flavor. If we were just there for cocktails, would have been fine!

We went here on a Wednesday night. Waited a long time for waitress to serve us..food took a while and forever for her to come back with the bill. Never bothered to check how our meal was. These are the places that I hate having to tip when the service is do bad. Really noisy. Food was ok. Don't recommend this place.

This is a popular Irish pub and restaurant in Midtown Manhattan on West 35th Street. I stopped for dinner at 9pm on a Saturday night and the place was full (but not crowded) with customers. I was quickly seated and ordered the rack of lamb which came with real mashed potatoes and grilled broccoli. Everything was tender and full of flavor. I was so impressed that I decided to come back for breakfast Sunday morning and ordered the Irish breakfast and was equally pleased. The menu is standard Irish-American, and the meals are certainly worth the very reasonable price. Dinners around $22 and Lunch and Breakfast around $15. I'd come back again.

We stopped at Jack Doyles while in NYC and waiting for our train to depart. It is only a short distance from Penn Station, so it is a good place to have a drink and snack while waiting for the train. Service was good. We had 3 Tito’s and Cranberry, 3 beers, an order of wings, onion rings and sweet potato fries. One beer didn’t taste right (flat) and the server replaced it with another without hesitation. The wings and fries were good, the onion rings were a little greasy. The serving size was pretty good for the food. Our bill was around $80 before tip which seems ok since it is NYC.

One of the best dining experieces. Service was great food was excellent and the prices were not your typical New York prices, the were quite reasonae. Located between 8th and 9th on 35th St. Nearest subway is Penn Station

Dinner and drinks w/ colleagues. Very noisy downstairs, but upstairs was suitable for conversation. The service was excellent. Decent beer selection, although like the rest of the universe IPAs are en vogue, and both of my colleagues had IPAs. Because of the Irish theme, I had a Belgian Duvel, and for dinner I had the fajitas with beef. My colleagues, the conformists, had Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash. The presentation of my meal was a little sloppy, but theirs were both very neatly plated. Everyone enjoyed their food. I always indulge in hot sauce, but the best they could do was Tobasco. <sarcasm>I can't image why an Irish pub wouldn't have a better selection of Southwestern hot sauces</sarcasm> A nice lady came around with shots of free promotional vodka, which my colleagues enjoyed, but I don't drink liquor. The service was very good.

We went to Jack Doyle's as it was near our hotel and had good reviews. Maybe because it was so busy due to nearby concert the food was awful. The service not so good either. Rude waitress. Stone cold mash and awful tiny burnt sausages. Menu said Irish beans but what came was Baked Beans. Maybe have asked what Irish beans are but in the a UK and Ireland Baked Beans are Baked Beans. My son's food rubbish too cold hard chips and we did ask for no salad in burger but it came with salad. So I had to get a slice of pizza on way home . It's a shame as it is a lovely pub but the food below standard disappointed to say the least.

Came here the night we landed for food, first bar place we came across and we were so hungry! Got the pulled pork & cheese panini with chips and a beer. First beer came out in a small glass my sisters came out in a bit of a bigger one but not filled right up! Got our food and the only way to say was the cheese tasted gone off & the pork was the very same a tinned tuna! They won’t be seen us again!

Good value, good food, and good atmosphere. It's your typical looking Americanized Irish pub. The prices are reasonable for NYC. I had the lobster pasta and it was delicious and a huge portion loaded with actual lobster. My friends salads were big and loaded with goodies (cheese, chicken etc.) The drinks start around 10 but they're strong. My only complaint is our waitress was hard to find until it was time to settle up.

Stumbled in by chance and boy did we luck out. The atmosphere is fun , lots of tvs , Irish charm as well friendly staff. Each entree ordered was delicious and prices were definitely fair.

I came here a few times with my girlfriend when we stayed in Manhattan. Drinks were good, food was decent and prices were to be expected for Manhattan. My girlfriend is Mexican so she likes to eat late at night, and the kitchen was open until 2345, which was ideal for late eating. Would give 5 stars, however my first visit by myself there was a very rude waitress who definitely didn't want to be there, very abrupt and cold which I find funny as don't you work for tips? Wouldn't have tipped her at all if I could. I can see from other reviews that this isn't a one time thing. Other than her, the staff were very friendly and all deserved good tips from me!

What hit me most when we walked in was how loud it was. We almost did not stay. Irish looking pub but not that Irish. Few items on menu that are Irish but more that are not. They pour a good pint of Guinness but not much Irish on tap. Irish whiskey selection pretty good. Had a full Irish for dinner and it was very good. Great service.

Spent 4 nights in New York and had 3 great nights in Jack Doyles. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was good and great choice of drinks. Toilets were spotless. And,l have to say again that the staff were all wonderful.

This has got to be the nicest pint of Guinness I’ve ever had. The staff are very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Can’t recommend enough.

If it works once then doing it again was our motto. The bartender alone made it worth revisiting with service and a welcoming attitude but the menu and beers made it easier as well. Loved dinner one night so why not the next night of in area? Yup, we did!

We wanted to try an Irish pub and I found this one by googling Irish Pub’s in NYC. The first thing we noticed is the NOISE level. It was extremely loud so we asked the hostess if we could sit upstairs. She said it was just as loud and seated us on the first floor near the entrance and next to the bar. It was extremely difficult to hear each other. The second thing we noticed is the terrible food. I ordered the iceberg wedge salad with chicken. The chicken was like rubber and really over cooked. I ended up not eating the chicken. My husband ordered the classic hamburger and said it was not very good. After we finished our meal, we went to the second floor and found that the noise level was not as loud as the first floor. We do not recommend this place.

Went there to meet a friend and to watch an Arsenal game as the New York Arsenal Supporters Club meet there, had Lagunitas IPA and Smithwicks on tap, place was buzzing despite Arsenal losing, food was decent also

Looking for a place to grab food and drinks before the game or concert? Look no further! Jack Doyle’s has delicious American food, a great selection of beers on tap, and the service couldn’t be better! AND it’s around the corner from Madison Square Garden !! Clean and friendly environment and the prices are very reasonable.

I LOVED the food but that doesn't count for much when the glasses are spotty and the bartender takes someone's used glass, dips it in the ice and then refills their drink. I really wanted this place to be a new regular spot for me but cleanliness is of the utmost importance. This bar did not meet my standards. With all of the infectious diseases going around, why in the hek would you dip someone's dirty glass in the ice from which you serve other people? The person touched the outside and their germs are on the inside. Not to mention my wine glass was ridiculously spotty. It looked like they picked it up off of someone's table and gave it to me. There was some food splatter or something on the side. The plate that my food was served on had about a million finger prints on it. It was just too many things for me to overlook and conclude that it was just an off-day. The bartenders were super nice and I wish I had a better review, but poor sanitary habits killed this experience for me. If you want to build up your immune system, then I recommend this place. Otherwise, steer clear or bring your own glassware and utensils.

We went to Madison square garden to watch a show on Saturday so we came to Jack Doyle's before it to have dinner and few drinks. The place was packed but we were seated right away(had a reservation) and got great service. They have huge beer selection! I got the Angus steak, was amazing!

This is a warm & cozy place. Great place to gather w/family & friends. Great food. My blackened salmon was fantastic! My husband had The Doyler sandwich, which he said was fantastic. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. Plus, we were close to Madison Square Gardens. Convenient!

Very friendly staff, Aine and Katie looked after me while I was there. The food and drink was very good and reasonably priced.

Pleasant and friendly staff with good pub food - plenty of options. Very busy and it is extremely noisy with loud music and people. We had no problems but only stayed for the one drink and a meal as we were tired after travelling. Not the place if you want a relaxing meal and conversation

Great dining experience with delicious food and drinks. We always try the Irish food - Bangers and mash, Fish and chips as well as the Shepherds Pie. Service was great and the prices were not your typical New York prices, they were certainly reasonable considering where it's located. It's about a block from Penn Station and MSG.

We had drinks here 3 times last week with our sons, Aine & Katie served us at different times and what a lucky bar owner to have these girls, yes im Irish and yes theyre Irish but that wouldnt matter to me, im in business myself and i know when people are good at their job. They greeted and served everyone so professionally, the bar is spotlessly clean including the toilets, we didn't have food here as we had restaurants booked but the food looked really good and was reasonably priced for New york. It can be hard for large bars to have a good ambiance but this was lovely and nicely decorated. Fiona and the lads from Galway.

Stopped in for lunch on the way to Penn Station. Nice lunch menu and the food was very good. Local Irish pub.

The place is big but cozy, with friendly bartenders. And good pub food. In terms of price, they may be right on the expensive end, compared to other similar places.

I came here with my friends for a Sunday Vikings game. I felt like Robin Scherbatsky among the Vikes fans ;) but I had a very pleasant experience here. For a "pub" this place is quite large, very nicely decorated, and clean. Our waitresses were very polite and frequently stopped by our table to check how we were doing despite being overwhelmed during the game when the place was packed. We ordered the classic burger, a house salad, and shepherd's pie and everything was very tasty and fresh. I'm sure on a regular night without football this place is just as great for a casual dinner. I would go back there and I recommend it.

Found by accident. Stopped in for a couple of drinks. Great atmosphere, great service, and great drinks.

I ate here with my nephew and everything was very good. Service was attentive. Food was very good. I had the Jack Doyle salad and it was delicious.

We had a reservation on Christmas Day for dinner and that went well. They had a Christmas menu which we ordered from for dinner. My pork sandwich was tough and a disappointment . My husband ordered the salmon and my daughter ordered a chicken sandwich and they brought out the wrong dinner for my daughter. Her incorrect dinner had to be returned which meant we finished our dinners before she even got her correct meal brought to her. Our server was not a happy worker and she disappeared after she realized she had gotten our order wrong. A different server appeared and she gave us a 10 percent reduction in our check due to their error. She also brought us each a mini Baileys Irish cream drink for free. She tried hard to make the experience better since they had definitely messed up. I am not sure if I would return there again.

So we stopped off at Jack Doyle's last Saturday night for a bite to eat and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely and it was a great atmosphere too. Myself and my partner were looked after by a lady named Dragana who I must add took very good care of us and was extremely helpful. too!. Considering the multiple options and different places to eat in close proximity I have to say I thought Jack Doyle's was very cheap in comparison to alternative options and the quality of the food was very impressive. Hats off and credit where its due! I'll be eating here again on my next visit to NYC.

This was a reasonably priced restaurant. The beat is very upbeat. The beer was very cold. The French Onion Soup was excellent, as were the chicken tenders. We would definitely return.

Here they have a great look and location. And you will do well here, but nothing spectacular. The drinks are a little pricey for what you get. The service is mediocre, and the bar staff seems passive. I will give them credit for having good nachos. So if you are close by and want a good stop, go inside. Just don't expect anything out of the ordinary.

This was our second visit and it was excellent. The fish and chips were perfectly prepared and went well with my Guinness draft. Large menu selection and good service.

Been hearing of this place for a while and finally tried it out before a Rangers game. It was ok, nothing compared to Stout but we did not have to wait for a table which was good. I would probably come back for a last resort

We ate here in July and really liked it. Not this time (Dec. 28) however. My wife was served the wrong salad, my son’s pulled pork sandwich was all barbecue sauce and not much pork and I don’t know when the microwaved chicken served with my house salad was originally cooked.

Stopped in here a few times on our trip to NYC as we stayed around the corner. Had drinks and food and both were great. Service was really good and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend and would certainly pop back in for a few if ever passing by again. The Christmas decorations were amazing!!!

Food was great and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommended and will be returning in the future. Prices also very reasonable

We entered this restaurant hoping for a good beer and something to eat. We were surprised with the quality of the food and by the size of the plates. We ordered the steak and potatoes and the fish and risotto. The price was also very reasonnable!

This is an excellent place! Great food - I had the grilled pear salad with chicken and my husband had the rack of lamb - both were delicious!! Drink were very good!! Service was prompt and polite!! No room for improvement!! Would definitely go back! Thanks for a great meal!!!

We found this little gem a few days before we returned home. My mother is so fussy and doesn't most things on the menu, the staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating, making food to order and that was off menu for my mother. Not many places would do that in NYC. We had a brilliant waitress who was from Serbia,so friendly. Can't recommend this bar highly enough. Great menu and selection of drinks too. Food was fab

Went in without a reservation and we were offered the table right at the front door. Remember it’s December, but we agreed. We sat down for about a minute then the hostess came over and said she found a better spot. She took us upstairs which was closed for a private event but let us sit up there and eat. The event hadn’t started yet so it was great. I had the lamb chops as an app and they were delicious! The seared scallops ( as a special) were also delicious as was the chocolate mousse cake. The private event started while we were eating but that was fine. It didn’t bother us. Would definitely recommend!

This is a solid choice. Food is good and the menu items are varied. Drinks are generously sized. Enjoy the nice bar/pub atmosphere.

Since Doyle's was next to my hotel I thought I'd give it a try. If you're looking for a place to have a beer and watch a game on one of their big screens, then you'll be fine. But if you're looking for a quality meal, then you need to look elsewhere. The menu is strange for a place the touts its Irish roots. There are only four traditional Irish items on the menu and most of the rest are either American or Italian fare. The food itself was just average and bland. The only saving grace was that it was reasonably priced. Major disappointment.

Not a bad bar, in here a few times over the course of a recent week in NYC. It was the 'meeting place' for a group I was with so went in four or five times up to St Patricks Day. Didn't return after that though. A round of drinks that was 20 Dollars on Thurs / Fri became 34 Dollars on St Patricks Day. That's a big no-no as far as I'm concerned so didn't buy a second round and drank elsewhere on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Won't be back unfortunately and a few more I spoke to said the same.

I had the lamb shank and my wife had the chicken pot pie. Both dishes were very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I nice old pub with great looks and atmosphere, but was very disappointed in food and service. Both orders were very greasy, and we were there to celebrate someone's birthday and they made no acknowledgement even though as a group we spent a grand easy. Would not return again other than for a beer.

Is a great pub with a decent food, lots of drinks options , if you are into sports is a good option since there are screens all over the place.

Good food at comparable prices. Menu lacked variety. The noise level was a problem, making conversation difficult. Worth a visit.

Sat upstairs to avoid the deafening noise on the ground floor. Had the bangers and mash. It was ok. Service was good. I wouldn't seek this place out, but neither would I avoid it.

Popped in for a beer after dining elsewhere. An excellent selection of draft and bottled beers (including several draft IPAs, which are my favourite), plus a large variety of wines too. Friendly staff, lively and popular place with decent clientele. Well worth a visit - but be warned that it is also a gathering place for Minnesota Vikings fans, so if the Vikings are playing the pub can get loud and boisterous (in a nice - but deafening! - way!!). Recommended? Definitely for drinks - and next time I'll try the food too. Will I return? Yep - gotta love those IPAs!!

I had big expectations for Jack Doyle and they let me down. We tried it a couple of years ago and had a great experience. This time, not so much. We were greeted at the door and we gave them our name. We had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait too long. Once seated, it went downhill. We had a reservation for 9 people and the table only sat 7. We had to squeeze the other two in. The server took our drink order and left us to check out the menu. She brought back our drinks and told us she would be right back (spoiler alert: she took a while to come back) We finally get our order in and we chatted and talked about our day. No food came. We chatted some more, still no food. Finally one by one the food started trickling out. It was not our server who brought it so when we said we needed more drinks, they said they would mention it to the server. Long story short, we never got any more drinks (we were all drinking mixed drinks) she never came back to our table again. We waited and waited until I went to the hostess and told her our waitress disappeared and we needed our bill. The hostess acted put out by my request but she did finally bring it. Horrible service! To add insult to injury, they added a 20% tip on service that was horrible. In the past we have recommended Jack Doyle to friends who were visiting the city but I won’t be able to do that again. Do better guys!

Stopped in for a quick bite and a drink before visiting the Empire State Building and were really impressed with the pub. We were seated quickly and received good service, I had the Reuben which was delicious. Packed full of Corned beef and swiss cheese and dressing, served with more than enough fries on the side. My brother had the Shrimp wrap which was jam packed with shrimp and left us feeling both very full and satisfied. Beer was $6 a pint which was fantastic value. We will definitely be back on our next NYC trip.

We visited here twice in the same day. First stop was for drinks. The bartender makes a mean Bloody Mary. Very tasty. We came back later for drinks and dinner with another couple. Service was fast and friendly.

Actually, much more than a pub and ideally situated right in the middle of the city. Plenty of locals using the place (always a good sign) and a great selection of beers including draught Guinness which was excellent. Nice friendly place with a great atmosphere and plenty of TV's showing lots of different sports. We ate while we were here and the food was excellent, served quickly and piping hot - try the lovely Shepherds Pie !! All our meals were spot on and all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed both the bar scene and the superb food.

With all due respect this place hit the skids. Went there for the Rangers playoff game and this bar credits themselves as a rangers bar but that was far from the case. Started with the Kentucky derby being played over the first few minutes of the game. It was on all TVs and the audio in the bar. The bar had a sign “let’s go Rangrs” how do you misspell the team of New York that plays a block away from you? Kindergarteners could spell that! There’s lights from the outdoors that beam into the bar and hit you right in the face. The mozzarella sticks, excuse me the cheese sticks where atrocious. How does the cheese just slide out of the breading? Undercooked much? I came here pre Covid and the atmosphere was amazing. The rangers would score a goal and the horn and goal song would play. Now none of that happens! The upstairs is the best part of that place to catch a game and that was closed! I’ll leave you with this….. THERES A HOMELESS DUDE IN THE BAR ASKING FOR MONEY! I feel for the guy but I don’t feel the bar letting this man in! Are you guys that desperate for customers?!

Excellent service and good food. Really happy with our meal and the fabulous service Highly recommend the chicken pot pie, the pizza and the fish and chips. The bartenders really look out for you here.

Had a couple of drinks in this bar on our recent visit to NYC. Drinks were OK and quite reasonably priced for a busy part of town but finding a seat was impossible on the couple of times we tried. The upstairs was cordoned off for a private party and many of the tables downstairs sat empty for the duration of our stay but had reserved signs on them. A shame really as we would have stayed longer and would have had a meal if we could have got a seat!

This one is interesting. The service was great, the ambience was nice and comfortable, and the beers were good and cold. But Irish Pub? Meh- I think not. Nothing in this place exclaims "Ireland" unless you count the small beat up flag behind the bar, which appears to be an afterthought. Our kind and friendly server was from Montenegro, the bar tender was Korean, the cook was Mexican, the Manager appeared to be from Central America, (not that there's anything wrong with that) and I didn't see an Irish person the entire time we were in the joint. It was almost comedic, as though they'd assembled a cast of characters as non-Irish as humanly possible, just for our experience. On to the lunch. The food was, how to put this.. not great. My friend ordered a fish and chips and thankfully, despite my original intent, I did not follow suit. Fish was small, covered in a greasy and tasteless batter that reminds one of the type you get in the frozen section at a mid level grocery store. I had the chicken wrap with was decidedly ok. We also got a plate of their "Irish Nachos" which included waffle fries, bacon, melted cheese and some pico with a nondescript ranch sauce on the side for some reason. This was also ok but not great. Did I mention the beers? Because if you're there for the beers, they come out frosty cold and delicious! The Smithwicks and Guinness black and tan was refreshing and good, which took our minds off the food being pedaled out of that kitchen. There are a good number of actual, authentic Irish pubs to hit up in the area, and scattered all throughout Manhattan, (McSoreley's springs to mind) so I'd say try those first. Again, Jack Doyle's is a nice enough place, with friendly service and really nice people. But if it's an Irish pub you're wantin' you'd best be on your way.

You are not doing a mistake when you enter Jack Doyle's for a lunch. The place is crowded and the food tastes very nice. Perhaps a bit too loud... I had Chicken fajitas and a Smithwickers. Very nice meal, good service and a nice environment. You can have your lunch here!
Average Pub
I was there on August 6, 2018 - The service was average. The food was just okay. One complaint I had was the food was not served piping hot. The ladies restroom I had a problem and wrote to the manager. He has not answered my e-mail. My question is how interested is he with his business? Other than that it is just an okay place to eat.
