The food is amazing! Real comfort food, huge portions and the flavors are to die for. Only thing I would like to mention is that the music was a bit too loud for me. Was hard to hold a conversation with my table mate. But would definitely come again!

Outstanding adress in Upper West Side! We enjoyed (so much) our lunch, the nice place and the staff's kindness. I'll comeback without a doubt for my next trip in NYC.

This was amazing! I really enjoyed my meal, (BBQ chicken with biscuits and cheese), and the chicken pancakes were to die for! Love the atmosphere, our food came quickly, and it was not too expensive for the volume + quality.

OMG! I LOVE this restaurant!!! My husband and I recently visited NYC and before out trip he looked up restaurants on Tripadvisor and found this place...OMG...have I mentioned how I LOVE this restaurant!!! The food was AMAZING! We started our meal with a sampler of pickles, beets and carrots...delish!...and then had 2 appetizers...fried green tomatoes and fried pickles...the fried pickles were SO GOOD it brought tears to my eyes! Seriously! Then I ate the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH OF MY LIFE!!! It was the Honey Chicken and Pickles. The portions are HUGE! My husband drank the Biscuit Beer and I had the Rosemary Vodka Lemonade. So yummy! Our server Ariel was excellent and a special shout out goes to Charlie the host! To the owners of Jacob's Pickles...PLEASE open a restaurant in Chicago!!! You would have 2 loyal customers for life! Thank you!

o much fun, and the food is amazing! Plan on a moderate wait time. Get the poutine, have a drink... or two.... and some of the best food this side of the river! Seriously hearty portions that are big on taste as well.

We had breakfast sandwich with egg bacon and cheese on a biscuit. Not even sure the egg part was real- spongy and tasteless, cheese no flavor. Just awful

I’m not sure what the hype is. Dinner was really bad. The wine list is very limited. I ordered shrimp tacos. Worst I’ve ever had. Coleslaw, 2 shrimp in each taco. Soggy and really not good. Waitress was really friendly but didn’t notice I barely ate.

Jacob's Pickles is a restaurant with a comfortable setting and comfort food to match! My friends and I wanted to try the best they had to offer so asked the waiter for recommendations. The fried pickles with spicy mayo were a tasty combination and great way to start. The we had the exquisite poutine smothered in brown gravy, cheese and Hollandaise drizzle, we all loved this dish. The chicken & pancakes with buttermilk fried chicken was next, something neither of us have tried before but want again and again now. It is worth a trip to Jacob's Pickle just for this. The shrimp & bacon grits with whole wild shrimp, nitrate free bacon and organic cheese grits is more of an acquired taste but the ingredients were put together beautifully. Jacob's Patty Melt with Jacob’s beef burger blend, toasted buttermilk loaf, melted cheddar cheese, crispy onions, lettuce, pickle sauce, hot sour pickles and fresh cut fries was next and it was wonderful! To end we tried the fried Oreos with home made cream and it was a taste to behold, something I can only find in the USA. The there was the biscuit bread pudding with vanilla ice cream & toasted almonds, it tasted as amazing as it was decadent.

Loved our meals here. Very creative brunch menu and huge servings. This meal was delicious. We found this place via a referral from a local friend and it was spot on... excellent neighborhood restaurant... only wish the bathroom was a bit cleaner.

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, and good service. They where quick to come with our food. Coffee was not the best. We had the mushroom cream with bread and the cheese omelette. All in all a okay meal.

It is certainly worth going out of your way to locate this restaurant. The portions are enormous and terrific. The poutine must be shared and the matzo ball soup looks as if you are being served the entire pot. Chicken dishes are excellent as is the turkey leg and stuffing. The only slightly annoying issue is that the restaurant is very dark.

We went late after a show at Beacon Theater. They serve food until 12:30pm fyi. There were 2 of us and we ordered WAY too much food - especially for a late night bite. But... it was really good! We had Meatballs that were covered in melted cheese. They have a bit of a Tex Mex spice to them. We also had the Honey Fried Chicken which was really good but BIG = Share it! We had a bowl of matzah ball chicken soup that was also really good and REALLY BIG. Then a mix of pickles. The pickles were a little too sweet for my personal liking but I'm sure there are some that I'd like. All in all - great find!

Hadn’t reserved on Wednesday afternoon at 6 and the place was buzzing! Got a seat at the bar - our preference where the selection of beers was amazing We were hungry but had read the portions were huge so we skipped appetisers and went straight for mains Meatloaf with mash and vegetables and Chicken on pancakes Both were lovely but too much Service was good and price reasonable at less than $100 including a couple of glasses of wine

We came here for brunch and would highly recommend a visit! Well worth the wait for a table. Really lovely, quirky setting too. My advice would be definitely order a biscuit sandwich of some sort however portions are large so consider sharing.

This was so great. The orders are huge and we got way too much food. But everything was excellent. Mostly biscuits and fried chicken with everything. We ate in the covered patio and it was a little too cold, inside the restaurant would be warmer (but also noisier). Ironically the pickles were a needed more flavor, but the biscuits and fried chicken were too notch. Go for brunch and take your appetite or share with someone.

The first time we visited was because the place came highly recommended. We returned a second time because we loved it so much the first time! On both occasions, the two of us ordered different dishes and shared them to sample more of the menu. Every dish we tried was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions are generous (especially from a European perspective), but everything was so tasty that we had no trouble finishing it. Highly recommended!

Ribs were really good would recommend. However portions were massive would highly recommend sharing food because of this. Drinks were however really expensive! Staff really helpful and friendly!!!

I hate to say this, but lack of support from their staff and customer service team, I’m not sure what to do. We ordered for delivery a mere 5 minutes a way in a local bar. An hour later and countless attempts to contact Jacob’s Pickle, we decided to cut short our afternoon of drinking and visit Jacob’s Pickle. We were greeted by the rudest of staff who tried to give us our hour old food. Insisting it was cooked fresh - there was no communication from there. We just stood and assumed our food would be re-served. 10 minutes later a bag was dumped on the counter. It took for us to ask if it was ours, to which the server nodded “yes”. Shocking. We won’t be returning. Further to that I approached staff at “Timeout Market” who are responsible for all the food outlets. They were not interested in helping either. I won’t be returning.

Had a lovely meal at Jacob's Pickles with my family - from the mac n cheese varieties to the chicken sandwiches and their own beer - you will not be disappointed!

Jacob's Pickles has great fried chicken, great beer and of course great pickles. I could eat here every single day if my gut allowed it. If you're looking for a great Brunch/Lunch in the city, look no further.

Our daughter recommended this place. The atmosphere is friendly and LOUD! Service was good and prices reasonable. If you don’t live in NYC and can’t take a box home then there is way too much food. I think I am giving it a 3 simply because I wouldn’t go back— I have checked it off my bucket list!

Due to the restaurant name we decided to try their pickles and biscuits. With the fried pickles and the spicy chicken biscuit we could not resist to try their large selection of beers. Both food and drinks were delicious.

Jacob’s Pickles is by far one of the best dinning experiences that I ever had. Service was helpful without being pushy. Portions were HUGE and priced affordably. I had the hot chicken biscuit sandwich and it was delightful. The pickles and pickled vegetable appetizer is NOT to be missed!

Some Harlem friends had posted pictures of their brunch from Jacob’s Pickles and wanted to try it out during a recent visit to Manhattan. To put it bluntly, I was rather underwhelmed with their food. Pros: they’ve got delicious pickles and I could not figure out what was my favorite. Their cook who does their grits probably was trained by an old Southern grandmother because they were amazing! Their roasted Brussels sprouts was also amazing. They serve rather large portions and are likely to have bring home the rest for take away if were delicious. Cons: Their Hot Chicken Biscuit was just a cold mess. I was not sure how thin their pounded that chicken to where you got just the breading. Also the “hot” factor was lacking, even when you ask for extra hot sauce. The biscuit was bland when eaten alone. There was also a long wait. I would give this place one more chance and would order something completely different.

Some of the best food you'll find in Manhattan. Their portions are MASSIVE. I can bring an appetite but I had left overs for two other meals. I live in NYC, but in Brooklyn, had family staying in the area so I decided to bring them here. Their Bloody Mary is also incredible.

One of my favorite brunch spots in NYC. It’s great for us locals and visitors alike. Go early bc the line gets long fast. Ask to sit in the bar area for the best seats. The food here screams southern comfort. With root beer on tap 24/7 you can’t go wrong. Recently had the Buttermilk pancakes with fried chicken and bacon which was absolutely delicious. Go hungry and come out with a southern smile!!!!

We dropped in for lunch and ordered the honey chicken dish with their signature beer. Great food, and well worth the visit

My friends and I love Jacob’s Pickles and go all the time, even though some of us live out in Queens! The food is plentiful and absolutely delicious—I’ve loved everything I’ve tried, although anything with fried chicken (especially the southern BLT and the chicken and pancakes) is top for me. The biscuit bread pudding and their Mac and cheese are also to die for. Add in some lemonade and it’s perfect. Definitely visit. You won’t be disappointed!!

The food was not very good the lunch Salmon burger was all stuffing and very little salmon The fries were good but cold. I sent it back but it came back cold again .. The chicken soup was excellent. The service was very good.. I ordered a sour pickle but the brought me the wrong pickle twice

The patty melt burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had! The portion size was enough to share between 2 people. Also Jacob's Pickles has excellent ranch dressing! I have only ordered pick up and it always takes less than 30 minutes for my food to be ready!

Wife and I spent 4 days in NYC and this was our favorite meal (we did brunch after visiting Central Park). I had the hot chicken sandwich, and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. The chicken sandwich was hot but not overly hot. Plenty of pickles on top of the sandwich and served with a bowl of grits. The biscuits and sausage gravy had a great sage flavor to them, which is what you want in a good southern sausage gravy. The biscuits are delicious. I'm from the south and have eaten my share of biscuits and I'd put theirs up against anyone's. If you're in the neighborhood, make the stop in for a bite. You won't be disappointed.

So glad I made reservations to have dinner here when we visited NY, well worth the trip from midtown. The servers were great, friendly and welcoming and explained the menu to us. Also the family sitting beside us were so friendly too and gave us great recommendations on beers and food. The portions are huge but reasonably priced and the food was delicious! The fried pickles were amazing as was everything we had. Would definitely return and can 100% recommend!

We’d seen this place on Tripadvisor with some good reviews so we gave it a go on our recent trip to New York. We weren’t disappointed! The food was on point. Very friendly and attentive staff. We’re from the UK and my son was keen to try the sausage gravy. He said it’s the best thing he’s EVER eaten. We were all very happy with our food and would have returned if it wasn’t our last day there.

Visited Jacob’s Pickles as NYC was lifting Covid-19 restrictions — loved the outdoor seating! It has been really fun to see how restaurants have taken over the sidewalks and parts of streets in their own way to create safer seating. Had their bourbon based beverages to start — highly recommend the Honey Mint Julep. First sip reminded me of Churchill Downs. Had the fried pickles to start, then got the pickled veggie tray (4 items: pickles jalapeños, candied beets, special pickles, spicy carrots). Did not know the portions would be that big! Happy because we got a couple meals out of the food we got. I got the Nashville hot chicken sauce on the side of my honey chicken biscuit, which I recommend because you can get the best of both worlds. Not as spicy as in the South, but still tasty!

Found this place through a search, thought the menu was fantastic and we wanted to try something new. This place is awesome! Food is delicious, portions are almost embarrassingly large (in a good way) and service from our waiter Sully was amazing. Sully took his time to walk us through the menu, asked likes and dislikes and made great recommendations. We had a selection of pickles and the beets which were fantastic. My partner and I both had one of their fried chicken sandwiches - Mushroom Chicken and Hot Chicken Biscuit. Both were amazing and I can't describe how much food they give you! This isn't a place for a light snack!! LOL I had the bourbon flight with 4 different bourbons which were all excellent and my girlfriend had the Rosemary Vodka Lemonade which was great as well! While the food and drinks were amazing and I'd go back in a heartbeat, the thing that set this experience apart from others was truly the staff. Our waiter Sully was fantastic, knowledgeable, and funny! Could not recommend Jacob's Pickles more highly!

Late lunch on Sunday. Restaurant was hopping! Staff very friendly and efficient. Food very very good! Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The portions are enormous so go there hungry!

Very good food. Large portion sizes especially for NYC. It is a bit pricey however. Would still come back on our next visit. Inside it is too loud.

The portions are big, and we appreciate that the server warned us about the large portions. All dishes were good, but we could not finish them. Consider ordering to share first if you do not eat too much. There is quite a good selection of local beers for you to enjoy.

We ate here for a late breakfast and it was delicious. I had the French Toast made with the biscuits and it was so good. It was too much food for me to finish, but I think all of their dishes are very generous in portion size. My partner had the biscuits and mushroom gravy and said it was wonderful. We will be back next time we come to NYC.

Was visiting a friend in NYC when we walked by a Jacob's Pickles pop up tasting at a clothing store, of all places! LOL Happened to meet Jacob there, who was warm and friendly and showed true care for his customers, as did his assistant Blake. Jacob and Blake assisted us in securing a reservation at the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant we found the service to be spectacular and the food delicious! I had the honey chicken biscuit sandwich and collard greens (dang those collard greens were good!); took half home for a snack the next night and it was just as good the 2nd time around. I really wanted to take a jar of the veggies home to Milwaukee and the amazing Blake helped make that happen. Can't wait to have them in a bloody. I cannot recommend Jacob's Pickles highly enough. I will definitely be returning on all subsequent visits to NYC.

An open weekday afternoon presented itself so I was off to try the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit at Jacob's Pickles during Restaurant Week. The waitstaff is personable and attentive. The appetizer came and it was a lot of food. Fried pickles, enough for a meal for one or an appetizer for two. They were yummy and greasy and came with a spicy mayo that I enjoyed. I mostly ate the pickle spears and not the batter as it was simply too much food. I ordered a drink - the Jam Jar; it was perfect, strong and tasty, with a fresh strawberry or two as a garnish. The Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit was also enormous. And delicious. The chicken was delicious and the hot sauce was flavorful, even if it didn't pack enough heat, in my opinion, to be called Nashville Hot. The French fries were thin and salty and a combination of crunchy and soft; I barely ate the biscuit, although it, too, was delish, especially after having sopped up some of the hot sauce. Dessert included! I got the Oreo Pudding which came in a Mason Jar that traveled well through the cold day all the way home where my teen son devoured it and told me I had no idea what I was missing. So the food and the service, great. Pushing it to 5 stars is the music. This was the most surprising mix of music, stuff I haven't heard in public for a while, which felt curated to stir up good feelings in people who went to high school in the 80's, though the music wasn't 80's. The music made everything better. No, it wasn't the Jam Jar. It was the music.

Had no problem getting a table on a Monday mid morning. Our party really enjoyed the fried pickles and spicy sweet carrot sticks for starters. My mushroom gravy chicken biscuit sandwich was good. It could have used more gravy as there wasn't enough to really moisten the biscuit and there's a lot of breading with the small strips of chicken that are used...would be better with a single piece of chicken breast. My husband enjoyed the chococlate chip banana pancakes and daughter liked her BLT chicken sandwich. While nothing blew us away, everything was tasty and service was friendly..there's enough variety on the menu that will have us returning again at some point.

HUGE portions, I was advised to share a main entree but we both got one and it was A TON of food! Fried chicken was very good, drinks and beer list was also great! I think my favorite thing we ordered was the mashed potatoes with mushrooms (I am still dreaming of them). We will be back!

I came here after a date at E's Bar right next door to the restaurant. It was a great night: you can pick up drinks and play board games next door at E's Bar then have great quality, and tasty food at Jacob's Pickles. The food portions are big and can be shared by two people. I ordered the original mac and cheese. The top layer was baked to a crisp and the mac and cheese was cheesy as every. If you're into that (like me), the mac and cheese is a must try. I also had the honey chicken and pickles sandwich, which was also delicious. The service is also nice. They are attentive and not overbearing.

The food is so good, you have to try the buffalo Mac and cheese and the pickle slaw. Honestly the best meal I had on my holiday here! We went twice in one day.

Great late night atmosphere, excellent food and variety of dishes & drinks. Our party of 3 shared the fried chicken dinner and BBQ ribs and still had leftovers. Delicious!

Excellent “comfort” food menu, large portions, pickles. Lots to like food wise, nice atmosphere, friendly service. All around a good choice and would highly recommend.

This is our second visit to Jacobs pickles and the food is amazing. Very large portions that allow you to share with others. From the appetizers, to the main course, to the desert, everything was delicious.

I found this place on Tik Tok. HOLY MOLY-- the reviews/tiktoks are right. The food was incredible. Portions HUGE. The buffalo chicken Mac & Cheese was out of this world. The honey chicken dish with their signature beer-- the chicken sandwich could easily serve two people. Amazing amazing amazing.

Fun decor BUT… thunderous rap! We can't hear each other shouting across the table. And it only stops for about 10 seconds every 10 minutes. A trial ! But that's not all... Difficult to say what we ordered (impossible to hear the waitress's explanations). We can only say 2 things: there was a lot of it... and it was vile. And what's more, it was expensive!

Unfortunately I had been a long time fan of all the pickle restaurants but this past Sunday, I will NEVER return to another restaurant owned by Pickle Hospitality. I had gone out of my way to work with Jacob's Pickle Management/Catering team to reserve a 15+ table for Marathon Sunday to celebrate myself/friends running the race and a birthday party. We signed a contract that clearly stated our start time and end time and the contract said that the event would start regardless of if our full party was there or not. We offered to pay a 50% deposit on the meal, but Jacob's pickle waived it for no reason. Unfortunately on the day of the actual event the hosting staff and the manager (who had been the one I was communicating with) were extremely rude and unhelpful. They did not offer any information at first as to why they could not seat us at 4pm. They stated incorrect information that went against the contract they signed. And even more egregiously they acted as if my friends and I were the ones who were crazy asking for updates and clarifications, as we were confused as to why this situation was happening in the first place. We understand that things run slow on Marathon Sunday (we RAN the marathon) but the staff lacked transparency around the situation from the get go and acted like we were insane for wanting to be seated on time. We had to wait for over 50 minutes before we got a table and no one on the hosting team or management team offered an apology. In fact when the hostess came up to say our table was finally getting ready but she couldn't seat us until our full party was there (a lie based on the contract) and I said our full party was here and had been there for over 30 minutes she said "You don't have to act like that I was lied to". It was a really horrible way to celebrate a big accomplishment and unfortunately will never be able to return to this restaurant. When I emailed Management on Monday to ask for any type of discount, since elements of the contract clearly were not kept, they never responded. A sad way to stop going to a restaurant I enjoyed, but I refuse to be treated like that. DON'T MAKE A LARGE GROUP RESERVATION HERE - THEY CAN'T MANAGE IT IF IT'S BUSY APPARENTLY.

The server was nice and attentive, the food was really good. Massive proportions! (Split your meal with someone) All-in-all, it was a nice experience. Would definitely go back.

Took the subway from midtown to try out JP on Sunday morning. Arrived at 9:45am and were seated immediately. When we left, the line was out into the street. Pickles & Chicken, chicken & pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, biscuit & sausage gravy, and the FRENCH TOAST were all awesome. Great vibe, a bit tight, a bit noisy, but the food was great. The coffee was not hot, and that was my only complaint. Our server was excellent.

The restaurant has inside and outdoor seating. Inside is some 4 top tables and the center has long tables to be shared. Drinks were served in mason jars, I had the house made root beer--delicious. Stronger drinks were available. Polenta and deep fried pickles were ordered for appetizers. Yummy. Southern fried chicken was ordered and eaten immediately. The noise level was a tad loud but tolerable.

Excellent food, but too much butter and fat. The food is really good but it’s way too heavy. You won’t be able to function for a few days after this meal.

I was in the area and wanted something to eat so I thought I would check out Jacob's Pickles. I've never had any of their food before and just wanted a snack so I had a honey roasted chicken sandwich. You place your order and get a buzzer which alerts you to when your food is ready. It did not take long for my food to be prepared and it was not too bad. As the restaurant is called Jacob's Pickles it comes with a side order of pickles and these were tasty. The staff who served me were friendly and professional.

Amazing American restaurant. They provide a large choice of plates. Food is very good and serve in large quantity. No one could finish the plate. I recommend the burger and the Mac and cheese. They also have good beers

Amazing food, huge portions, great location and good atmosphere even at a quiet weekday morning. Service was excellent and food was great value for money, would definitely go back!

Maybe it's just not my style but I don't understand why this is so popular. The food is just ok, there are lots of other places I'd rather go.

Had a reservation for 10 people for a Saturday afternoon placed a month in advance. When we arrived we were told they could not seat us all on 1 table which we figured places get busy but when it came time for seating they tried to place us on 2 different floor. We tried speaking with the manager to get clarification but he proceeded to call us liars and claimed we did not place a reservation for the same floor. All while being unable to look us in the eyes or attempting to understand our frustration. It's understandable to be busy but if a reservation is made then that should be prioritized since you are given advanced noticed. After being insulted by the manager for the final time we took our business next door to a wonderful bar called e's. They had great food, service, and a fun atmosphere.

This is an unprentious food and restaurant. It's Southern food. It's portion is big and food is wholesome. My party and I are not America and are not used to American portions so we took a take away bag. It was still as good the day after. Staff were friendly and the service was efficient considering it was a luch hour that was running towards the christmas holidays.

Come hungry. They warn you. We didn't listen. It's easy to spend a lot here, because you assume everyone needs their own meal. The portion sizes are massive. Massive. I really like the flavors of their dishes, too, and we've been repeat customers. My fiancé is a little less enthused about their food, even though it's more his style. Service has been great!

We happened upon this restaurant and it is probably my favorite restaurant in NYC. I love pickles, so that was the initial draw. But it has so much to offer. The outdoor seating is wonderful. The menu is awesome. I wish we lived in the area so we could be regulars. Well worth a trip out of your way! Try to have reservations in advance unless you don't mind waiting.

Be warned - the portion sizes here are huge. We could've shared one lunch sandwich between the two of us. I had the Southern BLT - the pickle slaw was yummy and the buttermilk fried chicken was the best - so delicious! And it came with two generous pieces. We walked to this restaurant while we were visiting Central Park.

We grabbed lunch from the Jacob’s Pickles outpost in the Moynihan train hall— portions are huge!! Husband & I split a Nashville hot chicken & side order of fried pickles. Louisianans take note— they sell Abita too!!

We visited Jacobs Pickles on the Upper West Side on a previous visit. This was our last visit to NYC and we decided this place would have to be revisited. The restaurant is fine (they are apparently moving to larger premises in the near future). The servers are excellent. However it is the food that is the real star of the show. We don't have anything close to this in the UK and i doubt there are many, if any, places in the U.S. that can match the food at Jacobs Pickles.

We visited Jacob's Pickles at a friend's recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The portion sizes are gigantic, so plan to share. My favorites were the biscuit, fried green tomatoes, and patty melt. Our food was served hot and within 15 minutes. Overall, definitely worth visiting.

This place is great, we came out of our way on both occasions to eat the food. The mac and cheese is to die for and the chicken dishes are just as fab. I will miss the food when returning home!

Decided to visit after a day of exploring the museum. I’d had several recommendations and wasn’t disappointed - this place has set the bar for table service so far on my trip. My server, Charlie, offered plenty of menu recommendations and moved me indoors when the rain became a little too much. I felt looked after. I was warned that the portions were big, and they really are! I tried some pickles, my first fried green tomatoes, and my first biscuits alongside the meatloaf. Delicious. The cocktails are great too. Cosy features and low lighting make it a comfortable place to hang around for a drink or two. I’d highly recommend a visit.

Jordan was the best! Food 10/10 - Service 10/10 - Drinks 10/10! Great atmosphere! Loved it! We had the biscuit and the chicken, gravy biscuits. Wow! Amazing!

Weird Combination of sweet and sour fried chicken sandwich. Not to my liking. Portion is sizable though.

Opening week on the UWS, 2 for having the $19 lunch -MONDAY-FRIDAY 10AM-4PM Lunch includes large daily soup and a sandwich with a large portion of fries. We had the ORIGINAL CHICKEN SANDWICH. A large oversized portion on a brioche bun. Recommend this. NOT RECOMMENDED is the Duo Taco Shrimp. Two very small tacos with a small shrimp each. Basically a small bite. Both the soup and sandwich were served together. Will ask for soup first next time. Need to request ketchup and salt from server. Great size space. Already getting a crowd for the weekend brunch.

Great food, great fun, huge portions, great service! A must stop for brunch in NYC. Everyone loved their meals. Visit Jacob’s Pickles!

Hearty, rustic, Southern inspired quisine. Think chicken, biscuits, bacon & beer, oh and pickles, not to mention Fried Green Tomatoes. Surprisingly large restaurant for the upper west side. If I were just here for the weekend I would go somewhere else, the City has so much to offer. But, if you live in or visit NYC a lot then you might be a regular for modern comfort food. My son's 3rd visit this month..he knew we would love it too. Don't expect anything fried to be really crispy here. It may be delicious but "soft". Biscuit flour is soft and it appears they use it in the coating. When you try the excellent bacon steak don't overlook the mustard seeds enhance the bite. The chicken Caesar salad had twice the chicken I expected and for NYC a decent value. Solid choice. The biscuit French toast, regular or seasonal special is just fun, and delicious. Lots of great choices not to mention all the beer selection

Love the food and love Sabas the manager. Had a less than wonderful experience there awhile ago. Stopped in last month and told him about it. He said to let him know when I came back. Returned with friends from upstate (Russian mathematicians). On a crazy, busy Sunday, he seated us and made sure that we had great food and great service. Now, that is a smart manager! Will definitely go back there as I love grits and gravy and other “diet” foods.

Generous portions; fried chicken and biscuits to die for. Friendly staff and great cocktail list. Perfect spot for a boozy brunch with friends. $$-$$$

The pumpkin biscuit french toast was amazing. The bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit was also good. The service was great. I wish they had more coffee options

Wow what a place I came out feeling like a new person! Went in lifeless hoping for a fun time and boy did it hit the spot! The place is lively and fun and plenty of room for my 14 kids to run free never have I been somewhere so inclusive I felt right at home! Coming out I felt completely refreshed and since then I have been back every day for the past year sadly this has resulted in me gaining over 200 pounds 😂 xx but is fully worth it! ( I have never even been to New York and I don’t even have 14 kids I have 27 however my name is Jacob so felt fully inclined to give it 5 stars)

Visited for brunch whilst in NYC and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the ‘coop platter’ - the portion was huge - I struggled to eat it all but it was full of flavour and all round a great meal.

The food was great, I got a buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese and a craft beer. The macaroni was penne and the cheese was incredible. Great atmosphere as well, music was awesome and the ambiance was fun for a friendly gathering or a romantic one. Dim lighting so people with low vision be aware.

This place is like no other! Their bloody Mary’s are rated #2 in the city but were definitely a 10/10. Wow! They are ranked #1 on the upper west side for sandwiches, and my wife snd I agree. Our hot honey biscuit served with cheese grits was amazing. We will definitely return. No complaints, and the manager, Adam, was so congenial and spent a great deal of time getting to know us.

This was our second trip to NYC and with so many restaurants to try we still wanted to come back after eating here a few years back. We knew it was amazing then and hoped it would be just as good. It was even better than I could have remembered. Four of us ordered the poutine to split and it was by and large the best poutine I’ve ever had. We also didn’t finish it because it was so large! We ordered the deviled eggs to split as well. I love deviled eggs but it’s not often I can say one is fantastic. The eggs were loaded so full of filling that they were stuck to the plate with filling to prevent them from falling over. I’m still thinking about them days later. I’m addition to the food we ordered quite a few cocktails. The Bloody Mary was amazing but the best drink in house is the jam jar. It’s perfectly sweet and summery and just so good with all of the fresh strawberries. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation and try as much on the menu as you can.

The food here is delicious and the portions are massive. You will definitely get your money’s worth, and then some. The assortment of pickles appetizers is so good, as were all of the entrees and sides that were ordered by my group.

Like nothing else in the city. Mac and cheese a big hit with the kids. Biscuits and Fixins perfect for mid day late snack. Wonderful and worth the trek!

I think this place varies depending on what you get. Our table had the mac n cheese, a biscuit blt, and the patty melt. The mac and cheese was very rich. The blt was great. The patty melt- flavorless with a poor bread choice (fell apart).

Worst waiter service asked multiple times for highchair and drink we were yes to death with no results. The restaurant was not ready for a crowd of people and switching waiters in mid service did not help matters

I found this place on a New York forum and thought we would give it a go Sat and served quickly. Lots of quirky things to try. We had the croque chicken and an omelette with pumpkin biscuit on the side. Huge portions mainly made up of home fries (sautéed potatoes if you’re British) Food was really good and good value. Just something missing which prevents me scoring five - can’t quite work out what it was but did enjoy

We loved this place for lunch. Come hungry! Huge portions. Our server was great and we loved the music playing too! Everyone had something delicious.

I joined the Columbia Coeliac Disease meeting 6-7 March, before flying back I had a lunch with a dear colleque from Mount Sinai, he suggested this place at Upper West Side. We were there already 10.30 Sunday morning, last table !! I asked to upload my iPhone; “no electricity available.....”. Sounded ridiculous. No WiFi.... Ok.. Lets lunch honey crispy chicken with Pickles++++ bread etc. To be honest just great and very original, their beer list is very long with a lot of local nyc beers. I took a white beer. Service good , the coffee adequate. I hope to come back here when I’m back in the city. WiFi would be good for foreigners like me.

My girlfriend and I were in town visiting the American Museum of Natural History. In advance of the visit we mapped out several potential lunch spots and Jacob's Pickles seemed like the most interesting of them all. I mean, you really can't go wrong with comfort food. We had a reservation for 12:30 p.m. and upon arrival, we were taken to our table in the back room. There's a schoolyard basketball court that surrounds the back of the eatery and we enjoyed watching the kids playing ball. I ordered the Jacob's Patty Melt which was outstanding. I wish the dish involved biscuits as that is what I came here to try. However, the portion was huge and it came with an abundant amount of fries on the side. In addition, we appreciated that since it was a hot day, our table was given a complimentary pitcher of water (that was refilled for us). The only negative is that our waitress wasn't very personable. However, polite enough that I can still say great service was provided. Prices are reasonable for the huge amount of food that you get Really enjoyed this place and I want to come back to try their other food items.

Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! Fried pickles were amazing! We had loaded fries and Mac and cheese huge portions, the chicken was gorgeous. Good prices delicious hot food. Fantastic service and friendly staff. Took a biscuit beer back as a gift which was well received. Portions could feed two - examples available so knew exactly what you would get. One of the tastiest meals we had and for a good price. $9 pickles (9 pieces!) $12 Loaded fries $10 Mac, cheese and chicken

Best smothered chicken biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. Everything is delicious here but you'll want to come back time and time again for this. Note: It's comfort food so be certain you'll be uncomfy after. Very filling, but luckily Central Park is right there so you can walk of the deliciousness after:)

The blaring explicity rap music ruined it for me. We couldn’t hear each other or our waitress and I was so turned off by the explicit rap I had to listen to and expose my children to. Food was decent but not worth the hype I had heard.

Was recommended by a friend. Wow. Incredible food!! There for brunch. Note to self...share a plate next time.

Jacob's Pickles actually moved from Amsterdam to Columbus between 93rd and 94th St., into a much bigger space, and it has been relatively easy to make reservations to go there. We never went when it was on Amsterdam, and so were not sure of the menu, but the current menu is varied and wonderful. It is not just fried chicken, biscuits and pickles, although those are all available and very good. There are a variety of great dishes, including meatloaf, salmon, seafood salad, black eyed beans and collard greens, and many other options. The food is always really great, and is actually better every time we are there; the service is friendly and fast, and the prices are reasonable. Portions are generous, and we always take home a meal's worth of leftovers. We go often.

Jacobs Pickles does have tasty pickles, but is really about translating Southern cooking into the modern world. Most dishes are based on excellent fried chicken and or pork or bacon. A lot of dishes have high calorie counts, but you can eat healthy if you choose. Flavors are interesting and intense. Large portions. Plenty of variety. If you are bored with eating out, try this place for a moderately priced meal. Large mixed drink and beer menu. Lunch about $20 per person. Recommended.

This place is very good; it’s just a little heavy and greasy compared to my normal tastes. I got the hot chicken biscuit with fries, deviled eggs, and classic Mac n cheese. First of all, I thought the hot chicken biscuit would be as a sandwich, but it’s actually a bowl with biscuit, hot chicken, and pickles. Again, a little greasy, but the flavors were very good. They compare this to Nashville hot chicken, and I’m from around Nashville—it’s spicy and it’s good, though not really “hot.” I’m normally not a pickle person, but their pickles compliment the dish nicely. Jacob‘s is famous for their pickle combos, so I would try more of them! The fries were average and oily. The Mac n cheese, though I ordered a small, was a HUGE portion size. Again, a little heavy, but if you want cheese, they DO NOT cheat you on the cheese. It’s very ooey and gooey, and best enjoyed while fresh and hot. Don’t let it get cold or it will turn into a cheese brick. I had to get this during delivery for COVID 19, so I imagine it would be even better in house. Also, the deviled eggs were ok, but could have used less filling and more seasoning. This place has a ton of cocktails (which I haven’t gotten to try), lots of comfort food (meatloaf, ribs), and their famous pickles. They also have a biscuit brunch menu and beer. I recommend, but do it on a day you can afford to pop some stomach meds and take a nap, not while you’re on the move!

The food was absolutely delicious! We started with devil eggs, biscuits, and fixings, which were all excellent. The classic Mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. I had the buttermilk fried chicken Caesar salad, which I loved, and my companion had the hot chicken biscuits, which was spicy but enjoyable. We were impressed with how quickly the food arrived, and it was all hot and fresh. We made reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes!"

Coming back to New York after 9 years I just HAD to revisit Jacobs Pickles This is such a cool vibe and to food is fantastic! Warning portions are HUGE!!! But everything tastes sooo good! I was pleased to see they have a stall in the time out market in Brooklyn too! I always recommend this place to anyone I know visiting New York Well worth the trip uptown, you won’t be disappointed! I will always make an effort to come here any time I’m in the city

My wife is in love with this place. The pickles were awesome. The food was awesome. The portions are huge. And they have the leftovers game down to a science. Place was great.

A better breakfast sandwich and french toast you will not find anywhere in the U.S. The biscuits are the key to their success...so light and fluffy! The french toast has a perfect outer crust and fluffy center. Simply cannot be beat! Please expand to Las Vegas!!

Sparkly new space has a large enclosed patio and farmhouse style interior. Well trained waitstaff-thanks Isabelle-and a large menu that leans southern comfort food but also has grilled fish, steaks etc. And so many ways to eat pickles. Here's the missing star. Portions are crazy HUGE, TOO HUGE, especially the chick sandwiches, biscuits etc. A waste if you're not inclined to tote a leftover bag for the rest of your evening. Why not offer choice of smaller portions at slightly lower prices in addition to the regular... Loved pumpkin spice old fashioned, hot rum cider, chicken BLT, steak frites, hot chicken salad... Kid friendly, ADA friendly, pet friendly. Make a resv, they pack in early. !Note! google maps has them at 84th, they are at 94th and Columbus

Fun spot in UWS. Great energy and friendly staff. Food was delicious and big portions. You can definitely share to try different things. Highly recommend!

Jacobs was fantastic. Food was amazing, portions were large (big enough to share but you won’t want to) and the atmosphere was fun. Tables were a little tight but no different than most NYC spots. I can’t wait to go back.

Always excellent food, excellent service, warm and cozy environment. The meals are hearty and perfectly prepared. LOVE the pickle flight! Our go-to place when visiting NYC.

Come hungry! Big portions with a southern flair. Had to try the street corn and got the biscuit and chicken with mushroom gravy and a side of cheesy grits. Love the corn. Everything I had was delicious. I wanted to eat it all, but only managed half. The server was super nice and friendly. The place had a cool modern vibe with excellent service. I need to try the pickles next time!

Jacob’s Pickles has an array of American dishes. My server was hasty and didn’t understand what I was ordering for some inexplicable reason (BBQ ribs?).

What a place ! We wanted to eat something american and found on TripAdvisor that this place is near our stay. There were already a big queue for entering Jacob's Pickles so it means it is worth coming. Our two got poutine, beer and two mac n cheeses and the portion were too big even for 4 people ! We needed to take away the rest and eat on the next day. Absoultey astonishing cuisine, tasty and great service.

We had brunch at Jacob’s Pickles during our first trip to NYC. I ordered the mushroom gravy smothered chicken and the Autumn blush cocktail. Oh my God. I am from Atlanta so I know good Southern food and this place was AMAZING! I honestly didn’t care for the grits, but the fried chicken and biscuits with gravy and cheese were SOoOo good. Definitely recommend!

Amazing find! Did not come hungry enough as portions are crazy huge. Delicious, fresh and hot. Service very good as well.

My family, four or visiting NYC, and a friend had told us to stop by Jacob‘s pickle. We weren’t that hungry, but it was lunchtime and we knew we’d probably better eat some thing while we were close by. The waiter was wonderful and told us the portions were pretty large. It was restaurant week so they had a special menu. We ordered two entrées and two appetizers and had a little dessert of fried Oreo. We couldn’t eat everything, but it was so yummy. The biscuits are amazing and I don’t even like biscuits. My daughters were flipping out about the biscuits. Highly recommend stopping here you won’t be disappointed.we will be back !

Great staff, great food, lively atmosphere. The Only downside is there is always a waitlist and they don't take reservations. So have a Bloody Mary, (the best I've ever had) while you wait, and enjoy the vibe. Fried Chicken, waffles and sausage gravy, just like we were south of the Mason Dixon Line!

I haven't had the pleasure of dining in. Only take out, however, based on the quality of the food, I can only imagine the experience dining in would be amazing. The flavors make you close your eyes to just savor the taste. The attention to detail in their packaging shows how much they care about their customers. I would highly recommend dining in or take out, and I can't wait to order again!!!

Stopped for lunch and ordered the Hot Honey Chicken in Biscuit sandwich. Utterly amazing, best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Also tried the fried Oreo's, amazing very rich and sweet

This is one of my boyfriend's must-dos when in NYC. It's walking distance from where we stay, so the convenience can't be beat. This time we ordered food to bring back and watch some movies. The takeout was just as good as when we've dined in, and the portions are still ridiculously huge. The BBQ chicken sandwich literally had a pool of melted pepperjack cheese around it. And because the music is so obnoxiously loud inside, I think I actually prefer the takeout option and will probably do that going forward!

This place is a paradise for abundant, colorful and robust southern food experience. Pancakes and chicken are outrageously good. Rich in flavor. The short rib is so tender that it melts in your mouth without chewing.

Love this place for brunch when we visit NYC! This was our 2nd time visiting and it did not disappoint. Staff is super friendly and location is nice and quiet for an outdoor brunch with friends. Started off with the biscuits and fixins and the full pickle sampler (all 8 items). Biscuits are delicious and the strawberry preserves are out of this world. Pickle sampler was a hit! Never thought we would finish it all, but we did - pickled carrots were my fave. We enjoyed the Jam Jar and Bloody Mary's - drinks were great and generous size. For brunch we had Nashville Hot Chicken biscuit sandwich, chicken/egg/cheese biscuit sandwich, matzo ball soup and biscuit French toast - everything was fabulous. When they say portion sizes are generous, they mean it! Can't wait to come again on our next visit!

Don’t bother with this place if you have an outdoor reservation. We made a reservation for brunch on a Saturday morning and only the outdoor space was available so we assumed the place would be packed. There were a couple of people inside and we were the only people outside and were sat in the canopy area on the other side of the sidewalk. There was no atmosphere, no music or decor just metal tables and chairs. They had heaters but this just heated the person sat directly underneath them. The atmosphere inside the actual restaurant was good but the restrooms weren’t clean. The above would be fine if the food was worth it but unfortunately for us, it was not. We were really looking forward to this visit as we had seen a lot of reviews on TikTok. We both ordered the Croque Madame. The portions were obscene but this time it was definitely quantity over quality. Both of our eggs were undercooked and the sauce was stodgy. The biscuit was quite nice and the potatoes were ok but nothing to rave about. Really wanted to love this place but sadly did not live up to the TikTok hype!

This was our second visit to jacobs pickle, our first in 2022. Once again the food was flavourful and massive portions. I took friends this time as we'd enjoyed our last visit so much and they said it was their best meal in the city. Great service from Sully and great food made for a great evening. Thanks to the whole team

The NORWALK LOCATION served me RAW chicken THEN IT TOOK 30 minutes to bring me my meal. RAW CHICKEN NOT GOOD And then to eat dinner after my table is all done eating ? RAW CHICKEN NOT FOID

Ordered Lemon Roasted Chicken. it tasted mediocre, no lemon taste at all. whole food chicken tastes musch better. French cut thick and soggy.

I was looking for a place that served American dishes in this area, and this place was a good choice. Nice lively atmosphere and friendly staff.

Lots of fun food and generous proportions. We were here for Mother's Day and the service was very good. Cocktails are also excellent. You can't eat here on the regular, but it's great for a celebration.

We went for brunch on a weekday. I got the hot chicken biscuit... It was a disaster really. So messy you could not pick it up. The sauce had a weird grainy texture. I was really disappointed. The dilly green beans tasted like refrigerator pickles but were crisp

Amazing spot- made us southerners feel like home with super duper tasty biscuits, awesome Mac and cheese and fried pickles! Wanted to get more but we were stuffed. Great drink selection as well with a creative selection of craft beers and a great cocktail list. Definitely make this part of your trip if you’re in this part of town near the Museum.

I was there solo and ordered one of their popular fried chicken sandwiches. I knew it was going to be a disappointment because it came to me three minutes after I ordered it; all ingredients were lukewarm! Two people sitting next to me who ordered several dishes had to wait 25 minutes, and the food came sizzling.

From Chelsea, we took a long walk to the upper West side to have brunch at Jacob’s pickles. It was our second time there and it is still a winner! Delicious southern brunch, large portions. Of course, if you’re watching your waist line, it may be a little difficult, but we don’t usually have this stuff every day. Very crowded but service was prompt. The time to get in was pretty quick as well although the initial line look pretty long.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant. We arrived here early on a Saturday morning. I knew what we were going to order and was looking forward to enjoying our meal. The service was great. We were seated immediately, and the orders didn't take long either. The food was plated well and everything looked fine. The disappointment came when we grabbed the syrup and noticed it wasn't warm. I thought all diners, cafes, or restaurants warmed the syrup. Not only does it make the food taste better, but it helps to keep the bread or pancakes hot. Needless to say, that was our deal breaker. The food was okay, but could have been so much better on a cool October morning.

The food here is crazy good. We wanted to try a number of things so we had pickles, biscuits, cocktails, and entrees. So delicious and highly recommended. We sat inside and it is very, very noisy. You can not really have a conversation. Sit outside if you want to talk.

Just a short walk from our hotel was this fun spot. We had great beer, pickles and tasty entrees. Long tables for sitting but it worked great.

Typical and friendly restaurant. The staff is friendly. The dishes are copious and overflowing, but they are also good. To try

Portion was insane! I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day after this. The croque monsieur was amazing.

Second time we’ve visited their UWS location. First discovered Jacob’s Pickles when they opened in Time Out market in Brooklyn and had to go and check out their main restaurants. Their buttermilk chicken is delicious. Portions are huge, so don’t be tempted to order too much (that. being said, they happily provide boxes and doggy bags for you to take leftovers home). Cheese grit isn’t really for me, but I loved everything else. Would happily recommend and will definitely be back next time I’m in town. Staff is super attentive and friendly, they happily explain the menu and make recommendations

My wife and I both had very tasty meals and plenty of it! Our server did a tremendous job. The atmosphere is tight seating but fun interacting and getting recommendations from those around us. If we'd been in the city one more day we would have returned!

We visited Jacob's Pickles for the 2nd time and it was just as good as the first visit. We made a reservation for Sunday Brunch and had another great experience. This time we had a seven group and we sat at one of the outside tables. Service was good and the food was delicious. We started with pickles and poutine and then progressed to the main course. I had the Chicken and Pancakes and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Others in our group got the Biscuit Sandwiches and everyone went home full. The portions are very large, plan on taking home your leftovers!

OK, many of you have asked me via PM if the places I rave about are that good, and they are. However, this place is THAT THAT GOOD! Wow, blackstrap Molasses, special secret hot sauce, IPA style root beer from Wisconsin, O M G! Plus, it caters mostly to millennials, families, couples and business lunches. EVERYTHING is great, Fried Chicken and Pancakes is my favorite, a little blackstrap molasses and hot sauce - to DIE FOR! Get there early, especially Sundays, I have heard of waiting times exceeding 3 hours! Plenty of space indoors, and when the weather gets nice out, plenty of outdoor curbside seating!

Jacob's is a very stylish restaurant on the Upper West Side. We came across it quite by chance after our walk through Central Park and went back the very next day. The food is great. The service is friendly and quick. Just a warning: you will be full because the portions are quite large 🤓 When we are back in New York, we will definitely come back.

Great food but oakward attitude of personnel to let us leave the table as soon as possible no way to enjoy dinner without someone picking something up from your table interrupting your dinner very annoying

Going to a 7pm show at the Beacon Theatre located at 74th St. Dinner (bet 84th and 85th )before the show with 4:30pm rsvp for 9. No problem....right??? The place was packed when we arrived at 4:30. Start of the night with a 40 minute wait for our table. Why have rsvp? OK...hang out at the bar which was also busy but we had a few drinks. Finally...table across the bar against the wall was being setup for us. So they didn’t have our table ready for 4:30pm as they claimed? They sat us, 4 on chairs and the rest (5) on the bench. What??? Squeeze me in? No way...get me another table at the end so we can all fit comfortably. OK things settled and our waitress was excellent, Catalan. She got us setup, drinks and apps. Fried pickles were pretty good so order them if you like pickles. Deviled eggs were also very good. Wait...it started to rain on us. Seems like the condensation from the A/C ducts (above us) were dripping. OK we will take care of that....They just turned off the A/C and this seems to be a known problem from what I found out. So why don’t you fix it??? Dinner arrived. Mac & Cheese, catfish tacos, couple of sandwiches and my dish, southern fried chicken and pancakes. This was very delicious!Pancakes with bacon were fluffy, thick, and the best I ever had. BTW it was a Catalan’s recommendation. I was going for the shrimp and grits. Chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. I finally enjoyed myself at this establishment til someone said they saw a bug crawling along the table. Happens but....Overall the food was very good but the management and customer satisfaction was below average beside the waitress service. They should have done a better job taking care of 9 adults who were spending time to have a early pre-show dinner. I would have given this place a 5 but they can do better and they can fix this type of service. Or maybe they are so busy that it doesn’t matter. Plenty of other places to dine in NYC plus no recommendation from us. Restaurant business is TOUGH so do your very best!!!!! I am willing to pay and dine so do your part. Maybe take out would have been better since the food was very good. Next....

We were excited about Jacob's Pickles' new location on Columbus Avenue & 93rd, a lot closer to our homes, so we made a reservation for Saturday night. After our visit, I'd say they have some work to do, but they're on the right track. Pros: New location is much bigger and easier to move around. Servers no longer have to squeeze their way through the dining room. The server was wonderful and very considerate with a good table-side manner. My companion reported that the Honey Chicken was tasty and moist. (I tried to order it, but the server advised that they only have white meat and I wanted dark). My companion also loved the collard greens part of the Collard Greens and Black Eyed Peas side dish as being just the right way to cook them, but the black eyed peas themselves were mushy. Another highlight was the Crispy Calamari which included not just rings but also the legs and it was tasty, but not rubbery. I would like a sauce with more contrast than the lemon basil aioli, though. Fried calamari can be heavy so a tomato-based sauce is a nice contrast. The complementary bisquits the server brought were wonderful and I loved the signature pickles - I got bread and butter flavor. Cons: They were out of the first two things I tried to order. Then, when I just settled for a side of Roasted Oyster Mushrooms, they were completely flavorless. The other cons are with the space. The front door where reception is has serious traffic flow problems, as does the bar area. They'll have to figure that out. Finally, they need to put some sound dampening material on the ceiling because it is very loud. I don't want to spend my meal shouting with my companion instead of talking. The management at Jacob's Pickles have a good reputation for caring about their customers, so I'm sure they'll get their act together soon. And be sure to make a reservation as the wait for spontaneous arrivals may be significant. Looking forward to the next phase.

This chicken made my mouth cry with happiness. And the Mac n cheese made me want my Mum. It was so good. I’d never had ‘biscuits’ before, and my life is changed. Forever. Biscuit revelation.

My goodness, what a spectacular find! We stumbled upon Jacob’s Pickles while exploring the Central Park area and we are so thankful we did. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was fun, the establishment was clean and the waitstaff was knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended JP to anyone wanting an incredible meal!

Family of 4 thought this looked like a great place to end our NYC trip. We were definitely not wrong. The food was off the charts. Started with biscuits, and I'm not sure how you make a biscuit this moist, but it was amazing. We had everything from mac n cheese to chicken to a burger and everything was spot on. The waitstaff was wonderful, and surprisingly enough, the bill didn't knock my socks off, although I'm pretty sure I would have paid double. Definitely wish I could go again.

Yumm! I mean, YUUUUUUMMM! Portions are huge though! The buttermilk fried chicken thighs are by far the best food in the while place. Great pickles and beer.

Great food!! I ordered the Southern fried Chicken Ceasar Salad. The portion size was huge! Great tasting chicken and salad. Very pleased with the food.

Try the pickle flight but we have the sandwiches and the bacon slab you can't go wrong highly recommend and huge portions no one left hungry here

I will admit that I had heard of Jacob’s Pickles but had no idea what to expect. We went to celebrate my daughters birthday and decided on brunch. We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. The brunch choices were incredible and only outdone by the actual food we ordered. We started with some Biscuits and Fixings which were terrific. We had the Chicken and Pancakes, Egg & Cheese Biscuit, Veggie Cheese Omlette and the Croque Madame and they were all outstanding and VERY big. The drinks were great and totally recommend it.

So never trust a restaurant that does not have enough light to see your food is a great yardstick for any review. In this place you could barely see your cutlery. We had two starters (poussin and Fried pickles) the pouts in was just a huge mound of fries with some melted cheese, no gravy, not curd cheese and it was an abomination. The fried pickles were full of grease with a distinctly average batter. For mains we had hot chicken sandwich, Mac cheese, mushroom biscuit sandwich and baby back ribs. Again we couldn’t really see what we were eating to comment on appearance, I had to use my phones flashlight to see what was going on. What was going on was a huge mound of not well seasoned or prepared food. Disappointing to say the least. If you like quantity over quality, you’ll love this place. Anyone looking for a authentic experience steer well clear. Oh and the beer was bang average to, I had the house oils, tasted like washing up liquid TL;DR - AVOID

This place was recommended to us...we easily made a res on a Wednesday in November. The place has a very cool vibe and was pretty full. There does look like they have some community seating areas so keep that in mind but our res got us a nice spacious table. We knew going into dinner that the portions were huge! And upon seating, our server confirmed this by explaining most things should be shared. They have an extensive whiskey list but 2 of the pours we wanted, they were out of! For our meal, we split the biscuits & sausage gravy starter ($14). OMG - the best we have ever had!!! For our meal, we shared the chicken and pancakes ($21). Fried chicken tenders, crispy bacon, over pancakes with honey drizzle. The chicken by itself was fantastic. The honey unfortunately overpowered the dish with too much sweet for our taste! Would definitely recommend ordering it on the side!

Very good food, very friendly waiters, very good Christmas decoration, very good chicken, but in large quantities.

We walked out after reading the NYC Health Inspector's report, which included "Evidence of rats or live rats in establishment’s food or non-food area, Live roaches in facility’s food or non-food area and Sewage disposal system is inadequate or unapproved."

Heard about the place from my many visits to NYC..so my daughter and son in law tried the place for Sunday brunch Good thing we went early..got crowed. Good food friendly people

Great photos of food. Bad food and service. Waiter forgot to put order in. Then it arrived cold. Can’t understand why people would wait for this food.

Moved our daughter back into NYC today. Happy to see all the restaurants on the upper West Side including Jacobs Pickles adapting to outdoor dining. Loved their Bloody Mary's with Bacon, Deviled Egg and Lettuce and Strawberry Margaritas. We had three Southern BLTs (fried chicken, pickle slaw, nitrate free bacon, fried tomatoes), Jacob's Patty Melt (burger, cheddar, pickle sauce, big dill cukes, great fries) and a shrim and bacon grits. These entrees did not disappoint. Team service was excellent. They like all restaurants we passed walking around took Covid precautions seriously. All staff, masks up at all times. Bar code menus, contactless payment. Tables spaced well apart. Awesome food, service, safety.

Waited over 20 mins before being given a menu. It's not that busy there are empty seats. After another 45 mins got our food but missing pickles. Waited another 10 mins for pickles and to get a drink. Did tasted good.

We sat outside because it was too noisy inside. We both had the buttttermilk fried chicken with biscuits. The chicken was overcooked and tasteless and the biscuits were yuk! Won't go back.

Very good place We had Mac and cheese and a Caesar salad. Delicious and hearty At a very reasonable price in the end compared to everything we ate in NY. In short, the best place of the stay in terms of restaurant

This place is awesome. Incredible food. Enormous portions. Great atmosphere and ambience. Loved it!

Once a newfangled concept, kind of cool; now tired and old. The food has bottomed out at big sloppy servings, a notch below Cheesecake Factory. Drinks are small and expensive and the place is very loud. Time to go gently into that night.

The atmosphere is free, relaxed. Room inside and outside. Sizes of the dishes are "L" to "XL", therefore it makes sense to share.

I literally can’t understand how anyone thinks this is good food. I got the single Nashville hot chicken biscuit at the outpost in the Moynihan Train Hall and it was the most disgusting sandwich I’d ever eaten. The biscuit had a nasty taste that made it inedible. The pickles also had a peculiar flavor and the Nashville hot was not at all hot. Just disgusting.

The welcome is warm, the terrace is friendly, there is a large selection of appetizing dishes and beers, the portions are huge, we spend a great time in this restaurant!

We loved everything we ordered from here. Portions are big. We had leftovers for days. We got the biscuits and fixings, and definitely recommend that. The maple butter was so tasty with the biscuits. The Mac & Cheese is so yummy but rich tasting. The honey Chicken biscuit sandwich with pickles is like the best sandwich ever! We also enjoyed the chicken ceasar salad. We will definitely be back!!

Quite literally the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Our waiter was rude and inattentive. When we asked for refills he actually rolled his eyes. The burger patty was frozen, not fresh
Southern Food in the Upper Westside
I went to Jacob's Pickles in NYC with my wife and daughter. I'm in a wheelchair, & the restaurant was accessible, at least outside. The staff was friendly & helpful, and we had a great time. We sat outside by the curb, had plenty of room for my chair. The food was yummy, and the service was top-notch. We got the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, which was bomb & the Barbacoa Tacos - slow roasted beef rib tacos with crisp radish, pickled red onion, cilantro, habanero peppers & lime, big portions on each dish. Another impressive thing about Jacob’s Pickles is the selection of Craft Beer. The food was great, the service was awesome, know one is trying to rush you out and the restaurant was wheelchair accessible. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal of Southern comfort food. ip
