We love Botanical Gardens, and Art Museums, and usually enjoy the Cafe's attached to them. Jardin blew EVERY SINGLE ONE, as well as our other favorite restaurants out of the water! We were visiting the Gardens for the Frida Kahlo exhibit, and popped in for lunch. We shared a plate of appetizers whose descriptions drew us in, and presentation and taste sealed the deal. Grilled cheese with tomato jam, (and can I just say NEITHER of us LIKE tomatoes? !), along with 5 more small bowls and Naan bread, filled us to the brim, and we stuffed a shared olive oil cake in on top of that...We were in SA for a somber occasion, and decided to treat ourselves to a little joy, as we will not likely return. THANK YOU Jardin, for making it MEMORABLE and pleasant!

Beautiful place for a meal under the trees on the patio. Sophisticated menu, great wine list, well trained and friendly waitstaff. We loved the meze, especially the arranzini , califlower and cucumber and rosepetal dip with buttery naan, all perfect to cool off after an afternoon in the heat.

Always expecting the best level of food and service from Jason Dady....ooops! Having made a reservation 2 days prior; we were surprised to find that they were not prepared for us and had to set up a separate table to accommodate us. The table was placed just in the path of the Server station, and obviously, an afterthought. We ordered what we thought would be easy-to-fix drinks. We had to wait 20 minutes for the drinks and then they were not as ordered. The service was as disappointing as the food. Someone's idea of "Mediterranean"! As both my lunch companion and I had lived and worked in Europe and the Middle East, we can attest to the unfortunate interpretation.

We chose this spot for a cozy family special dinner out. Not so cozy with a young family with two very young children. Lots of other tables ?? So why put them next to a table of eight adults??We found it very pricey for the very small portions, although the items ordered were tasty. Our server was very hard to understand, and did not pay the attention to the details throught the meal only to bring us one check when asked for the couples to be billed seprately . Dont go here hungry or for a special dinner out. We were very disappointed.

When we called the Botanical Garden, we asked if they had a cafe, but were told, "No." We wanted to be able to stroll a while, then relax over some food. The worker who answered our call didn't realize that Jardin at the Garden had done a soft opening a week or so before and was serving guests. Imagine our surprise as we walked, seeing signs pointing out, "Restaurant!" The menu is quite varied and original, even including Lamb Burger, which I wanted to try, but we had eaten on our way to the Garden, so we weren't hungry enough to eat a full lunch. Instead, we sampled six "Mezzas." Each was delicious in its own way. Naan pita, warm with olive oil and spices paired well with the lemon ricotta spread. Stuffed dates were a pleasantly tasteful surprise. The garden bruschetta will redefine how you look at toast from the time you taste it because it has so much more than just tomato and onion. Deviled Eggs were a special treat, also. Each of our tapas was special in its own way. It would have been better if the ricotta and naan had been served together, but we still had some bread when the spread came. The restaurant has a kink or two to work out. Our waitress, Cydney, was so nice and extremely helpful, a real delight! Our "late lunch" was so extensive that when she brought a surprise dessert (it was our 54th wedding anniversary) we not only couldn't eat it all, we also had to have a light supper! Cydney brought us an olive oil cupcake, quartered with marscipone filling, decorated with edible blossoms. So scrumptious, but we had to take half of it with us! We also were helped by another waitress, Abery. She served the patio, but earlier had given me a glass of water so my wife could take a pill on time (fountains are off limits). She was also very friendly and offered to help us find a table (reservations are de riguer) when we came back for a late lunch. She even checked on us frequently as we ate and rejoiced over our marriage. She is a GEM!!! The Jardin is open to the public, not just to Botanical Garden visitors, with its own small parking lot and outside entrance. It will be on our list of "go back to" when we return to San Antonio.

Had a great experience! Went in after walking around the botanical gardens! The food is phenomenal- I recommend the goat cheese sandwich and the pork belly hummus. My absolute favorite! I sat at the bar with a few friends! We were greeted by the host, Amanda, so friendly and welcoming! All the bartenders were fabulous! Christa, Fiona, Adam, Chris & Juan all were so helpful with suggesting drinks and making them! We were there so long we got to meet them all! The mangers stopped by and were so nice- I think their names were Troy & Shelly! Shout out to the friendly staff! So welcoming! (I try to get all the names of the staff) Jardin is an amazing spot to check out! Try the hummus and the Flora!

This was one of if not the best restaurant we ate at while in San Antonio. It’s located at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. They have small plates and a very diverse menu. The service was excellent! I started with Gazpacho, which was the best I’ve had, full of flavor. I also ordered the deviled eggs, crudite and the grilled cheese which was my favorite. They were all very tasty. The grilled cheese looked more like a dessert and was very filling.

It was a very pleasant surprise to find an excellent restaurant in a Botannical Garden, ,of all places! The service wasn't five stars but the food was.

A very enjoyable lunch. Although we had reservations, they said they had no outdoor seating, so we were seated upstairs which has no view of the gardens. Hannah was our server and did an excellent job, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and courteous. Food was tasty, well portioned and enjoyable. Convenient location to take a break-for-lunch while visiting the SA Botanical Gardens.

I found Jardin on Trip Advisor and was surprised that I had not heard about it before considering how good the food is and the beautiful setting. We visit San Antonio regularly and try to go to different restaurants each time. The food is excellent and we ate outside. The heat wasn’t bad because there are many fans. We liked Jardin so much that we will return again.

We have eaten at Jardin before and had a better experience, but not outstanding. Service was slow getting to our large table of 20. Drink orders weren't taken for close to 20 minutes and didn't arrive until 20 or more minutes after that--some even later. Food orders followed, and food was also delayed. There was only one person handling our table with occasional help from others. I later discovered she was new--and handling a table for 20! We had a three course price fixed dinner. The highlight were the very good and very plentiful appetizers. The cheese with tomato preserves were my favorite, but the pita bread was a close second. Several other choices, literally all you could want. When the main course FINALLY arrived, almost everyone complained that their food was cold. Almost no one dared to ask for it to be reheated, fearing closing time. My shrimp were so over salted that I left almost all of them uneaten--a first for me. Obviously, COVID and massive unemployment benefits have made staffing a problem, but one would think fairly expensive restaurants such as this (our fixed price menu was $65 each) would have qualified staff anxious to work. To their credit, the manager SLOWLY handled each bill individually and offered compensation to some--but with another 30 minute delay for our party. Hopefully they will recover.

The Brunch Bunch was highly pleased with the environment outdoors, the service and meal options. Inside looked beautiful but had very heavy odors of meals. The wait staff was efficient, made great recommendations and really knew their menu . Outdoor seating was perfect and would end a great family outing of the botanical gardens with a very Mediterranean meal. Meat and vegetarian options galore.

While visiting the botanical gardens here in San Antonio we got hungry. Made reservations for an hour ahead and toured the gardens. Upon arrival we were promptly sat at a socially distanced table. We ordered 6 Mezza’s (small dishes sort of like Tapas). The best was the grilled cheese sandwich (goat cheese and a fruit topping, yummy). The Naan Pita was good and we got two things to dip. The artichoke dip was good, the babaganoush was disappointing. The wine pours were standard. The server was not very attentive and not very friendly. 1 point for beautiful location, 1 point for interesting and different menu, 1 point for some good food. No points for service and no points for price as it was overpriced by half.

Food- delicious. Service- poor. Ambiance- nah. We arrived early, with reservations, but they seemed unable to find our name. Thankfully, they were still able to seat us. It was a quite warm afternoon so we opted to be seated inside. Sadly, I think it was hotter inside that outside. Our server said the air was not broken, just very hot due to the door remaining open constantly. Then we found ourselves shooing at least 3 pesky flies away for the duration of our meal. We ordered the blue crab & corn hummus with seasoned naan bread. Delicious & a very hearty portion. Would certainly recommend. We also ordered the salmon plate with a salad. It was very tasty, as well. It had an apricot purée and would certainly order both again. Service: to our knowledge, our server only had two tables that we could observe, but she seemed MIA quite often. Another employee dropped off our food each time. We had to get up to ask for napkins & silverware. Later we had to wait to begin eating because we had to ask for a plate since we were splitting the entree. Overall, service was slow & pretty unengaged and didn’t seem able to inform us about various menu items very well. Will go back because Jason Dady’s food is so tasty, but will hope for better service & more relaxing atmosphere.

My group visited to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit and decided to stay for lunch.what a delightful meal and ambiance. The menu offers unusual and creative choices and they did not disappoint. The food was excellent. Great service from Travis and bonus points for splitting the check. Highly recommended.

Often times in 'touristy' places that have restaurants, the quality is poor and the price is inflated. Not the case for Jardin, despite its beautiful location in San Antonio's Botanic Garden. We stopped there after visiting the botanic garden for an afternoon snack and were blown away by the variety on the menu and the quality of what we ordered. My husband ordered The Sour and I had the House Limencello Spritz. The Limencello Spritz was so-so, not overly impressive. The Sour, however was the best cocktail either of us have had in months! For food, we had the octopus and the pork belly, harissa oil, and pickled peppers hummus with naan pita. Oh my goodness!!! Both were amazing, but I can't say enough about the pork belly hummus-a must try if you go there! We had dinner reservations elsewhere or we would have gladly tried more items and look forward to the chance to visit next time we are in San Antonio. A note on the service, they seemed disorganized and possibly short staffed based on the way everyone was running around. The hostess was a little short and seemed annoyed that we didn't have a reservation, despite it being the middle of the day with plenty of available seating. Jerome was our server and very nice and efficient, however.

The food is good but it is ridiculously overpriced. The mediterranean bowl is served at lunch and I liked it but wasn't given enough dressing on the side and I could never get the waitress to bring more.

We ordered the 6 mezze plates (Arincini, Naan Bread, Lemon Ricotta Spread, Stuffed Dates, Deviled Eggs and Beet Salad). Everything was good but the lemon ricotta didn't come with toast or bread to spread it on. If we had known, we would have ordered a different plate or saved some naan, which came out early, which didn't really compliment it's flavor profile. We ended up having to take the lemon ricotta spread to go. On a positive note, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. The wine list could use more options by the glass as well. Definitely make reservations since we couldn't get a table walking up on the weekend.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a restaurant, the terrible service, the waitress who served us was rude and haughty, it took us an hour to be served, when we were finally served, the angry waitress threw the tray at the table and spilled the drinks on the food, the pizzas that were brought were literally pieces of burnt bread with cheese and tomato sauce, we had high expectations of having a good time, but on the contrary we left in a very bad mood, hungry and we paid for a terrible service and a meal of very poor quality.

Not a great experience at all tonight. No host was present; it was an unreasonable amount of time to be noticed, seated and served water (we even had a reservation). The naan bread was overly drenched in oil and the amount served was not appropriate for the amount of hummus alongside it. The deviled eggs (we have ordered before and love) tasted like stale refrigerator. After one bite I did not continue because I was concerned they might be bad to eat. The beef kabobs were soggy and flavorless. They extremely lacked seasoning. The basmati rice was mushy and overloaded with black pepper. I know the specifics I am describing are incredibly subjective, but we have visited before and know the caliber of this restaurant. For the $$$ the food was absolutely horrible tonight. We probably won’t rush back. So sad to experience this change in Jardin as we adore visiting the Botanical Gardens regularly. The cuisine and menu items are thoughtful and sophisticated for foodies but along with the hostess maybe the regular chef was not present tonight either. The food was just not good at all plain and simple.

I have gone to the Botanical Gardens several times and never realized this was there! Apparently the building used to be the gift shop a long time ago. We ate outside at the very large patio, so definitely a plus during a pandemic. We chose to have 8 or so small plates for the 4 of us, and we were quite satisfied. Service was great, and our waitress had great wine suggestions.

Great atmosphere for sitting outside. It only features okay food and patchy service. Three people all had meals come out at different times. The flat bread pizzas were 3 inches thick (hardly flat). They were out of basil which is odd for a restaurant situated in a garden offering basil themed dishes. The turkey sandwich was smothered in jalapeños and accompanied by a humus with nothing to dip in it. The bruschetta was too hard to eat. Drinks were rarely refilled. There is no shade once the leaves drop so one member of our party was stuck in a glare the whole time. Overall a Good concept but not executed well.

everything about out meal was exceptional, including the service by Heather. I am a little annoyed she put 20% gratuity on our check. I failed to notice and gave her another 20% on top of that. My fault.

We ate at this restaurant before visiting the botanical garden. Hostess asked if we had reservations, and tsk tsked us when we didn't. Friends, there was only one other table occupied the entire time we were there. Ordered coffee and tea. Tea came out lukewarm, like heated tap water. Coffee was served in the world's tiniest cup. Waitress had to refill several times because you literally gulp the whole thing down in one sip. Breakfast portions were pretty large and the food was good. Pancakes were literally three pan cakes. Enormous. My teenage son barely made a dent in them. I can't imagine a human being able to consume that much pancake in one sitting. I had the eggs and bacon. Much more reasonably sized. French toast at the table too, which was oddly cut. Prices were a little high, but I guess this is a fancy place, so par for the course.

Jardin put us in a private room for our group which was awesome. We ordered the Mezze for the table plus other items to share. Everything was delicious! Cocktails were beautiful too. Everyone was pleased with this restaurant. Prices are reasonable and we cannot wait to come back again!

They didn't have the oven-roasted turkey for the turkey and avocado sandwich I wanted so we both got the Garden Tartine. It was quite tasty. Typically a tartine is an open-faced sandwich, but this one was more like two salads on one plate. But, with the blue crab, fresh veggies and a tasty sauce, it was very good. Nice atmosphere. Good spot to relax after touring the garden and have a glass of wine.

Was a fan of the original Tre Trattoria on Broadway, now relocated to the Museum of Art. Stopped going because when they moved they ceased serving the three or four dishes I really liked. So when the Jardin opened, went to see how it was. The food is Mediterranean influenced. Started with a trio of "small plate." And they are small, just enough for a decent taste for two. Cost $12. One positive thing is that they have abundant vegetarian offerings. They were all quite good but limited in portion. Then had a humus with naan. Tasty but way over salted. The naan was more like a focaccia, also quite salted. But he bread was good. Cost $10. Split an IPA, cost $7. All told $30 plus tip for two. The setting is really wonderful, right in the Botanical Garden. The outdoor seating was well spaced, reducing Covid fears.

What happened to Jardin? This was one of our favorite restaurants that we enjoyed introducing others to; in fact we often came here just for the food without a visit to the Botanical Garden. Loved the salmon, lamb ragout, short ribs, lamb burger, and most of all the hummus and naan. Excited to bring our adult kids as a new years brunch meal. We were told of unavailable items when we sat down; but then after ordering several other items we were told some time after ordering that they were out of several of those too. What was available was subpar. Bruschetta wasn’t cooked - cheese unmelted. Turkey sandwich had very little turkey and no avocado and an ice cold bun. Hummus was also ice cold. Very disappointing, and so little help offered to the chef working really hard in their sous chef station to get it all done. Can only imagine that all hands on deck and available ingredients being held for tonight’s prix fixed New Year’s Eve menu, but if so, should have closed for rest of day. Service slow and entrees served separately. One bright spot was salad with salmon. Hoping things get back to their outstanding quality in the new year.

Great place for an A/C break and nice lunch at the Botanical Garden in San Antonio. Generous portions and good food! Turkey Avocado sandwich was tasty. Lamb burger just ok. Hummus was good accompanied by the fresh naan. Friendly service.

1st time going to Jardin this past Friday evening with 2 friends.. As we were being seated I did not notice a name tag on the gentleman that was walking us to the table. I politely asked him ...and you are? so that I could thank him by name and he proceeded to tell me in a very harsh voice that his name was none of my business. He sat us down we sat there puzzled at his reaction he came back and brought us our place setting, and I told him I only asked his name so I could address him by name and again he tells me his name is none of my business. At that point we had had enough and we got up and left. Rude! Disappointing! Totally Unprofessional
This is a 5 star restaurant in a 5 start Botanical Garden
Lunch here is a culinary experience. The small plates are unique and feature an incredible diversity of flavor. Everything tastes fresh, just picked from the garden. We had lunch on a weekday and enjoyed sitting outside under an umbrella. The only downside was the jazz music blaring from a speaker. Would have much preferred to just hear the birds singing and the wind in the trees. We enjoyed a hoagie sandwich, a pizza and the special salad. Each one was deliciously different and just the right amount. We will be back to enjoy the ever changing gardens and certainly have lunch here again. And again.
