Transport yourself to a Caribbean Island

By mb1988 |

Step off the streets of Manhattan and onto an island! What a gem! We read great reviews and they were on point. We were welcomed by the owner herself. So gracious to every guest. The staff was so positive and engaging; music and vibe very fun. And the food!! Spectacular! Deliciously spiced but not over bearing. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes.

EXCELLENT RESTAURANT

By Michael M |

Jasmines Caribbean Cuisine is an amazing restaurant. My wife and I went on a date night and order the jerk salmon. The food was excellent and also the service. The owners of the restaurant was also amazing to us. If anyone is reading this comment please make sure you go there the food is out of this world 👏👏👏

Amazing Food - Great Restaurant - NYC’s Must Try

By Alma B |

This place is a hidden GEM of NYC and a MUST TRY to anyone that has not yet been! Even-though we did not book as we stumbled upon this restaurant whilst visiting NYC (Friday night) we were accommodated within 10 minutes of arrival. It also happened to be my Birthday night and I am so glad I celebrated it here out of all other places in NY. The delicious food, amazing atmosphere, restaurant’s ambiance, music, welcoming and professional staff made our night thoroughly enjoyable and so special. The staff even provided me with a complimentary Birthday Cake slice and a candle which was such a lovely and unexpected touch. Thank you all kindly once again. We would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back when in NYC again. Family from London 😊

Joyful at Jasmine's

By Jewishtastic |

Treat your taste buds to dinner at Jasmine's Caribbean Restaurant on Restaurant Row. From the fabulous cocktails (Rum Punch and Mojito) to the delicious starters (Crab Cakes and Empanadas) to the tasty mains (Jazzy Pasta and Chicken Curry), it was a meal to remember. Such generous portions. The wait staff was super attentive. Lively music and decor. Can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu!

Great food

I went with my fiance to have have a nice intermite dinner. This resturant was very lively and energetic. The vibe was all you need. I ordered oxtail and rice & peas. The food was on point. Their servers were very attentive and pleasant. I would highly recommend going to this resturant for some good authentic Caribbean cuisine.

Serious problems with food and drinks. Over-priced. Avoid.

By Graeme |

Service was slow. Food took nearly an hour to arrive and was all over-cooked and the fish was small. Lobster and salmon were dry and rubbery. Drinks were poor too. Kids "champagne" was Inka Cola and it was probably the worst margharita I've ever had. They brought the wrong water. If we hadn't been waiting so long and hungry, we would have left. We received a complimentary dessert from the owner who seemed to be avoiding us. After complaining when paying the bill, we only had the margharita removed, not one of the main dishes.

Just the one word - Amazing

By Bruce M |

Oh my god, what an absolute treat this place is, if you want a friendly, and I mean real friendly atmosphere with great vibes and an amazing atmosphere then then this is your place if you enjoy authentic Caribbean Cuisine. The staff were amazing and the food was out of this world. I’ve been to the Caribbean and tasted the food and drink, this place brings it all back to the fore. The cocktails are amazing, just what you’d expect in the Caribbean. Eaten in a lot of places in New York, this place is a little treasure well worth finding on your trip . Quick service, very friendly staff, so chuffed I went here on our second last night in NY.

Thanks Jasmines will definitely recommend!

Excellent Caribbean Dining

This was our first visit to Jasmine's Caribbean Cuisine, but it definitely won't be the last! The ambiance was relaxing, the waitstaff was excellent, and the food was amazing. If you're in New York, make sure to visit Jasmine's—you won't regret it!

A taste of the Caribbean in the heart of the city

By Adam H |

We went to this trendy new restaurant in the theater district last week. Who expected to find a little hideaway on restaurant row that serves Caribbean cuisine. We started off with coconut shrimp with a delicious sauce, added empanadas and crab cakes. Then we ordered the Jazzy Pasta with Lobster, the roti and the oxtail dishes. All in all the food was fantastic. Even the drinks brought us back to the Caribbean. I recommend this restaurant highly for a great with a lot of atmosphere.

ROBBERY WITH A SMILE

By P S |

I ate at Jasmine Caribbean resturant for a family event and our group size approximately 17. I ordered an appetizer Calamari, the way it was served, little hard fried pieces thrown into a bowl. And, the coconut shrimp was not completely cooked or deveined and others stated hard crab cakes on outside with inside not cooked (how do you manage that). The staff is nice but also prefer good food like pictured..considering the price and cost for filitered tab watet. I wonder if the better food presentation os reserved for special customers. I will not be a disrespected customer. Enjoy!

Good & Atmosphere Were A Whole Vibe!!!!

By Keisha B |

The Caribbean food was amazing. The drinks were phenomenal and the atmosphere was a whole vibe. The DJ had a great playlist that was up to mine and my teenage daughter’s standard and the service was good!

Worth the wait

By Andrea S |

I decided to go for a birthday dinner. I had reservations but they were busy so we still had to wait a bit. The greeter was super busy and running around but still made sure to come over to the people who were wating to give us an update on the wait time. Once we were seated, the food and drinks came quick. The oxtails were fall off the bone delicious. I also tried some of the goat, which my friend ordered, which was also fall of the bone and yummy. The rice and peas were good as well. The drinks were strong but very flavorful. I had the sorrel margarita. There is also a dj on Saturday and he elevates the vibe. I'll definitely be back.

Great food, great drinks

By Joshua H |

Me and a couple of friends were out looking for something new to try when we saw this little hole in the wall Caribbean food place. We were pleasantly surprised by the aesthetic and the vibe. Then when we got our food I was in heaven, the Jazzy Pasta has me thinking about it to this day. The drinks were also delicious and unlike any other drinks I’ve had in a long time. Overall I’d highly recommend for anything from a friendly little night out to a romantic time with your significant other!

Like going back home

By NYWillTravel |

Run, don't walk, to this Caribbean outpost right in the middle of Manhattan. Situated steps from Times Square, in the heart of the theater district's Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue), Jasmine's is open only for dinner. Reservations are strongly recommended for this cozy establishment. We did not know what to expect. The service was excellent. The staff is attentive and helpful with recommendations. You will not feel rushed at all. Our party ordered different dishes and not one complaint was heard. Ackee and Saltfish tasted like it came straight from the islands, as did the curry chicken. The portions are very generous and the sides can easily feed two. The drinks are as colorful as the decor, with a number of tropical blends. Must try many more before a favorite can be identified. As NYC reopens fully and the theaters come back to life, get your reservations in. This will become a hot spot in no time.

Go for the Jerk Chicken

By Jr |

The jerk chicken was everyone's favorite. The place was sweet and beautifully decorated. The service was friendly and we all thought it was tasty.

Don't waste your time

By Yvette J |

My husband loves caribbean food so I decided to try Jasmines prior to us going to the theatre. I made the reservation for 5:15 pm, however we arrived at 4:45. They proceeded to sit us early and rushed us through our appetizer and dinner. Believe it or not we were both finished with our meal and handed the bill by 5:20pm. I have never seen anything like it. The food was average at best, and quite frankly it was appalling how rushed we felt. On top of that, even though what I experienced next wasn't the restaurants fault, the white woman seated next to me kept grabbing her purse as if I was planning on snatching it. Between being rushed and the fool next to me, we were done. We WON'T ever be back.

Valid shawties

Great food, drinks, ambiance and people. Would highly recommend jasmine to anybody who’s wanting to try something new in the city.

So disappointed

By Liza N |

Chicken cooked in a curry sauce with aromatics, herbs and seasonings $20. Sounds delicious, it was so for from that, it just looked like curry. Oxtail Slow-cooked, savory, fall off the bone oxtail with gravy $22. Another lie more like try to ripe the meat off the bone with too much flour or cornstarch in the gravy. The rice and peas was okay. We ate as much as we could because we were hungry and had spend $50+ on that food. Pizza or mexican would have been so much better.

Great vibes

First time and definitely the last

By Frances G |

Please stay away from this company, burnt leather taste jerk chicken. Its all a scam, wasted $90 on this company, please save yourself from this company it's a total joke. I rarely leave reviews but I really need to advise u that "order at your own risk". Not sure if the jerking was an ostrich or vulture ffs rock hard chicken never again.

AMAZING! I would give six stars if I could ❤️

By Deanna53590 |

Ambience is exactly what I want in a Caribbean restaurant. Colorful and tasteful. Service was top notch, drinks and food were beautiful and spectacular. The happy hour side of run punch was perfect. I had the salmon w coconut sauce and my boyfriend had the shrimp curry. Delicious and pretty plates. We also had the bread pudding for dessert. YUM. Prices were reasonable. Will hopefully be back again next time in NYC.

A Great Little Spot with Great Food

By jadamom |

I went there for an early dinner after a Sunday afternoon theater show. As I was dining alone, I was able to be seated right away. But I would recommend making reservations as it is a small place. The service was quick, and the wait staff was very friendly. The food was oh so good. I had the jerk wings as an appetizer, and they were hott. I had the oxtails with rice and peas for my main course, and they were very good, the meat just fell of the bones. I would recommend this restaurant and I WILL be back next time I am in New York.

Great night out

Jamaican food that I could not get at a Jamaican Resort!!

By Sheronda S |

I ordered the oxtail, rice with peas, with sweet plantain and curry chicken with rice and peas and plantain for my husband. The food was absolutely delicious that we had to personally thank the chef! The staff were very nice, friendly, and they kept our water glasses full at all times. I could not stay still in my seat while I ate this food 🥰 Eat where the locals eat not the commercial places that you can find at home. You will not be disappointed!!😊

HORRIBLE MANAGER INTERACTION!!! 9/28/23 ON MOTHERS BDAY

By Michella M |

Unfortunately, I have to write to express how DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED, I was in yesterday with the "manager" you man who addressed me. I work in the area and have been to the restaurant twice w/ NO issue in August both times, partaking in happy hour drinks and then dinner. So, for my mom's 65th bday my husband and I decided to bring my mom. I made a reservation on OpenTable as I usually do for 5pm. Happy Hour on their website states 4-7pm and I ask for the happy hour drinks and told its jsut $2 off drinks and when I showed the online menu of the drink choices and prices, I was told that is incorrect and they are NOT honoring that. The manager and I use that word lightly because I myself is a manager and would NEVER debate with a customer in the manner he did. He was very defensive and seemed annoyed that I was showing him what HIS site was listing for happy hour drinks. He claimed that he told the owners to take this down and it hasn't been done and they have not had that since they been open. LIES. As I was there for dinner August 8 for 6pm reservation and had no issues with Happy hour, and I remember two young ladies helping, one being new and another training her they both were EXCELLENT. food was very good, not complaints for my pass two visits with service or food. Said to say that my mother, my husband and I was utterly disgusted in this claim to be managers tone and decided to leave. I was able to get to Carmines and celebrated my mother's 65th birthday and spent a lot more money which was NEVER the issue, but it is the tone and lack of respect in the way he dealt with me that will I never tolerate. So sad because the food is good but this one young man who claimed to be a manager needs to be trained appropriately, because if he has to deal with guest, you will continue to lose customers. Now my very large company recently moved to the area, and I will not be recommending based on my last experience. Such a shame! Nonetheless, Carmines welcomed us with open arms and food was great and celebrated my mom's birthday the right way with pleasant staff who got a very nice tip because that is how you treat folks.
