I had this on my list and I happen to run into it casually as I was going to the subway. expect a good wait, it gets really busy but totally worth it. the dumplings taste fresh and worth the price as well. good quick bites

We had heard about it and wanted to try the dumplings. Inconspicuous from the outside, simple from the inside, we ate freshly made dumplings at a very good price.

Lovely little unassuming spot for delicious dumplings, soup, and scallion pancake sandwiches. Cash only. Quick, never too crowded, and I love the staff. It’s in a great location on the LES, near shops, bars, and the waterfront.

Terrific dumplings for under $5. Eat there or take them to go. Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood!

I recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat well without too many demands from an environmental point of view. It's a very family-friendly place, you sit where and if you find space. Everything perfect and excellent! Compliments! Quick and all good.

I had watched a YouTube video on King Dumpling recently and had to try it. What a nice experience. What I liked about King Dumpling is that they sell lots of their pork and chive dumplings and had fresh ones packed and ready to go for people. I ended up eating them at the restaurant, but they were super-hot, juicy and perfectly fried. The price was extremely fair. You get ten of them for $3.50 and that is a real bargain. All the items on the menu were under ten dollars and this is very civil with the prices of most restaurants today. The man running the restaurant was really nice.

I have been coming to King Dumpling for a few years now and the food is always excellent. I stopped in the other night and the restaurant has now changed its name and ownership the Prosperity Dumplings. The prices are the same and the dumplings are still excellent. I had the steamed dumplings and I had ten perfectly cooked dumplings for $4.50 and they were excellent! Perfectly cooked and steamed, made right in front of you and served steaming hot, they were wonderful. I never enjoyed such delicious dumpling on a warm night. Even late in the evening the place was packed with party goers and hipsters coming in and out. The food here is excellent, reasonable and made fresh in front of you. What more could you want in quality food.

I really love coming to King Dumplings for lunch. When you order their homemade dumplings boiled they give you ten large dumplings for $4.50. That is one of the best deals in New York City. Not only are they really large but they are made fresh right in front of you. The lines here are really long but go quickly so you can get your dumplings on the run. They make a nice meal and are always high quality.

I visited here to sample some chicken dumplings as part of a self-guided food tour of Chinatown- they were very reasonably priced and served hot.

10 fried dumplings for $3.50? 4 fried pork buns for $3?? All freshly made??? Can't find this type of deal anywhere anymore. I visited NY last year and got food here every day, sometimes more than once a day. Food is delicious, highly recommend!!

This place is a frenzy but the food is incredible. Very affordable street food and very filling too. From the outside, you wouldn’t expect to eat as well as you will. A definite gem.

There are no shortage of cheap dumplings in the Chinatown area, and King Dumplings meet the criteria. Their filling is juicy enough and generous in portion, while the skin/shell isn't too thick.

What I love about King Dumpling as well as everyone else who eats there is how reasonable the prices are and generous the portion sizes when you are on a budget. You can get ten boiled or fried Pork & Chive Dumplings for $4.00. It makes a nice meal. They make the dumplings fresh right in front of you and they are always busy so the dumplings are really fresh. They have a lot of flavor to them and are cooked to perfection. Ten is more than enough for a good lunch. The restaurant has seating to you can relax and enjoy your meal. There is a lot of interesting street art on the building so it is a unique experience.

Steamed and fried dumplings are delicious! We visited twice during our stay and will return in the future.

King Dumplings – A hidden gem in the streets of New York If you love dumplings and are looking for an authentic experience, King Dumplings is a must. This small place, little touristy and much loved by New Yorkers, offers exceptional dumplings, both fried and boiled, freshly prepared with fresh ingredients and a flavor that conquers from the first bite. The environment is simple, basic, almost spartan – very few seats and no table service. In fact, it often happens that you have to clean your own table, but all this is part of its street charm. Here you come for the food, and the food never disappoints. Each dish tasted was a pleasant surprise: tasty, genuine, well balanced in flavors. Prices are incredibly low, especially considering the quality offered, well below the city's best-known restaurants. You pay only in cash, so no credit cards: a detail to keep in mind. The cleanliness rating is A, the maximum, and is reflected in the care with which food is prepared. This place perfectly represents the real New York: authentic, multicultural, no-frills but full of emotions. A place that manages to offer a real culinary experience off the classic tourist routes. Go absolutely: it will give you a small but intense journey into the most sincere flavors of Asian New York cuisine.

The place is small and the Owner not exactly nice, you pay only in cash. The best dumplings eaten to date. 10 pieces 5 dollars

If you search (online and in real life) you will find there are many inexpensive dumpling shops in Chinatown. Many of these are "under the radar" and are hidden gems. They all pretty much serve up delicious dumplings (pork and chive fried dumplings is the standard) at a very low price. They are all good. But this place is my new favorite. Like the others, they serve up the great, cheap dumplings. I believe they are 4 for $1.50 here. However, I feel like these were actually better than most of the others. Actually better quality, better taste. Absolutely delicious. But here's where they're a bit better... They have a bigger and neater/cleaner seating area with a few tables and a good size counter along the windows. It is a little bigger and more open than most other places. Plus, they have a bathroom, and it's very clean. (Bathroom of course is for customers only, strictly enforced.) Along with the food they offer the standard refrigerator full of canned and bottled soda and water. Their menu has more offerings than just the dumplings but the dumplings are definitely the star of the show. It is a family place and the people are very nice. Service is simple, quick, courteous. Even the location is good - it's across from the Allen St. "mall", the park-like center walk along Allen St. One of my favorite things to do is jump down to Chinatown, hit up King Dumpling for about 12 of them, and then go to Ling Kee for some jerky (to go, but I eat some as I walk out) and then find some bubble tea or dessert among the many shops in Chinatown, all while taking in the sights and sounds and feel of the place. It's a cheap and authentic NYC cheap eats experience. Highly recommend this to all people, natives and tourists alike. Now I'm hungry for these dumplings!!!

Undoubtedly the best dumplings in the Big Apple at a price that does not exist in New York. Absolutely worth trying even if the place is small and modest. I advise against boiled ones.

King Dumpling is an extremely popular place with both locals and hipsters and even now the tourists have found the place. It is a small very hip dumpling shop with an extremely reasonable menu. I love both their fried and steamed dumplings and their soups are really good too. I have found since the economy has slowed, the place has gotten busier. I had the Fried Dumplings on a recent trip and they were freshly made and fried to order. Ten dumplings for $3.50? You are not going to get a better bargain and the service is very nice too. The man who runs the place is always impressed by the number of people he has come into his store. Don't miss this restaurant in Chinatown.
Don't miss the dumplings and soups here!
King Dumpling is now one of my go-to places for dumplings and soups when I am visiting Chinatown. The food is really reasonable, you get ten dumplings that are made right in front of you and the taste is excellent. The gentleman that runs the restaurant really works hard to make sure that everyone gets through the lines that grow all day long. The fried and steamed dumplings are excellent and so well cooked. It is the perfect place for a snack or a meal. It is a must go when you are in Chinatown.
