Nice neighborhood restaurant

By Hiroomi T |

On a business trip to NYC right after a trip to Chicago. Came here the first night and really enjoyed the meal. Good service, food came out quickly, wine selection was excellent. We were really surprised that we were the only group in the restaurant but really enjoyed the quiet as we had a nice evening with good food and conversation.

Go visit Kitchen 46, you won’t be sorry

The restaurant is in a cellar in Hell’s Kitchen area, 5 minutes walk from Times Square. The food was great, we all loved it. The staff was great, we all loved them.

Bad experience

By Robert Bord |

Food was ok ,service was not paying attention to our needs ,cocktails menu looks great but was nothing memorable. Kitchen 46 has a nice space but it seems that there is bad communication we waited for our drinks for long as well for food no manager came to apologize to our table. Definitely the wrong place to go Friday night !!

Perfect for a date night

By Nick Creal |

We visited the restaurant on what i think was their opening night back in December last year but have only just got round to doing the review now so apologies to them. We had visited the place when it was under its old name and had a good meal so when we learnt that it had changed we were a little worried as my wife's food allergy is tricky and some places don't offer much flexibility however this place coped brilliantly. The meals we had were all well cooked if a little smaller than most in NYC but very tasty. Definitely a place for a special occasion meal for 2

Mediocre food

By Roberta H |

Oysters were the only thing very good. Ribeye was okay…but it’s expensive so you want at least very good. Fries looked good but were mushy.. Mussels were tasteless and not hot.

Exquisite diner experience near Times Square!

If you are looking for extra large portions / typical American food, pass your way. If you are looking for some great international (strong Mediterranean influences) food / upscale restaurant, stop by! Positive points: - Delicious but yet very healthy food. The croquettes were worth a Spanish chef croquettes. The mussels were very tasty. The chicken was so succulent! - Really great service, the best we ever had since we arrived to NY (a week ago). - Signature cocktails to die for! And if your preferred cocktail is not on this list, ask for it. The restaurant will do its best to honor your request. - Very nice 1990s/2000’s music. It got us 15-25 years younger Negative points: - We have not found any! Thanks again guys for this lovely diner / experience, and for the on the house mussels and cocktails. Would love to return if / when I come back to New York. Till then, all the best!

Friendly Foodies In Hell's Kitchen

By Glen S |

We ate at this quaint little restaurant in what I believe was the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood and it was my favorite dining experience all week. Ronnie our waiter from Egypt was very kind and very attentive and a wonderful stranger to have met on our trip. I loved my meal of wild mushrooms and linguine and my wife loved her lamb prepared three ways and the Israeli couscous. It was a nice meal to introduce our 16 year old daughter to the finest points of Mediterranean cuisine. Thank you so much.

$49 prix fixe and sharing was delicious and very good value

By MichaelTheWanderer |

Two parents and two young adults really enjoyed our dinner and thought it was very good value. Three diners ordered the prix fixe for $49, and another ordered a la carte. (So the whole table did NOT have to do the prix fixe, as is often the case at fine dining restaurants.). We enjoyed the salmon tartare, smokey eggplant, salmon tagliatelle, chicken kebab, and other dishes. The total cost for four with tip (no alcohol) was $230. We will return.

Wrong decision choosing kitchen 46

By Bryan R |

We decide to celebrated and have dinner at kitchen 46 but we had a horrible experience service was slow and seem out of control since we work in the industry we clearly see what was wrong that day they were short staff everything took long time when we left table was dirty no one came and clear our table big disappointment .

Good choice for Mediterranean-style dinner in NYC

By VRomeijn |

We had dinner at Kitchen 46 during our trip to New York in April 2024. Kitchen 46 was located close to the hotel we were staying at, and the menu, with a lot of fancy but accessible Mediterranean dishes, looked very good to us. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant isn't too big, which is one of the reasons why the restaurant has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was of high quality and we really enjoyed it.

Mediterranean on Restaurant Row

By Stephen F |

My friend and I decided to check out Restaurant Row after seeing a Broadway show . We were attracted to the Mediterranean style food highlighted on the menu outside. We were shown a table, but requested a different one, and the greeter obliged. We had a cocktail, nicely presented and very tasty. I ordered the Mussels which were delicious, served in a wine, lemon and garlic broth, and fries. My friend ordered the Beef and Lamb Kabob, and she was happy with her choice. We finished up with cheesecake for dessert. The table service was friendly and the ambiance conducive to conversation. The prices were reasonable. I will definitely return, but next time I will request a side order of bread which was not in evidence on the menu, but a must with a Mussels entree.

Yearly trip trying new places.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere. Almost got to hear the show upstairs until they closed the door. Got the complete meal that was priced with appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Disappointed. Intrusive, loud music...

By Sabine P |

We (two couples visiting NYC for the weekend) dined at Kitchen 46 on a Friday night. Our first impression was positive as the hostess was welcoming and the decor is nice and cozy. But unfortunately there was music blaring the whole time with old European songs that made the whole experience unnerving. It would have been so much nicer (and a better match to the decor) to have some soothing background music instead of this horrible medley of 60s hits. The second disappointment was the food. The $45 NY strip steak was chewy and hard to swallow. The salad was nice and fresh though and the fries were good. The service was friendly. Given the large choice of restaurants in Hell's kitchen, this is not a place we will visit again.

Amazing drinks. Truly terrible food

By world traveler |

Whereas the craft cocktails were spectacular the food is terrible. Lamb/beef kabobs were a slop of nasty street meat in a chopped steak consistency. It is not a kabob like you’d think. Came with microwave French fries and a single cherry tomorrow. Basically not even edible. We threw it in a tree for the wildlife in a nearby park.
