When I took my honey here I was hopeful that there would be something for her (a vegan) to eat. The choices were limited and boring. I won't try it again.

Amazing food and service. I took my mother there for a meal on a nice fall day. We ate chicken souvlaki, tarama, and octopus entrees. They are a bit expensive but well worth the visit there, and they are highly recommended.

Greeted with a smile. Seated quickly and addressed by the server promptly. All service was good and timely, food was hot and abundant. Wonderful dinner.

Recently moved to the area and was very pleasantly surprised. The appetizers, eggplant dip melted in my mouth, along with the Saganaki. The other dip were perfection. Black Sea Bass, grilled with the right seasoning. The lamb kababs, were very much enjoyed. Will be back to try the Moussaka.

2nd time there for dinner: Date night. We had the expected Greek salad (somehow not boring!) the eggplant and zuchini chips with Tzaziki and white bean dip (light, crunchy and delicious). Finished with the Lavraki fish filleted: So light, tender and tasty. No masquerading needed. We also enjoyed the baked potatoes and steamed spinach (those were not as great as the others. A little more effort should go into the sides. The wine selection is good, and the waiter was well versed in the wine menu and had good suggestions. Service was very good. Would def go back! It's a much welcomed addition to the neighborhood.

What to say for this amazing restaurant!! Beautiful place, great relaxing music, professional service and the best greek food! Try the greek kalamari and “gigantes beans”! This place smells like Greece!! One of the best restaurants in city!!

We had a whole fish called a bronzino, split in half and served to each of us, with two side dishes which were also meant to be shared. It was excellent, cooked just right, as was the avgolemono soup, and a sweet dessert called galaktoboureko. The place does get noisy and busy but the staff was totally professional. A very fine place for dinner.

When Korali first opened in the culinary desert of the Upper East Side, it was good news. Not only did it offer something other than the predictable Chinese, Italian, or pub fare, it was really good. The salmon I had the first time I dined there was fresh and nicely grilled. Warm bread, flavorful taramasalata, and a generous pour of decent wine made a good impression. The second visit wasn't so good - swordfish kabobs were over-salted, but still. I've been increasingly disappointed each time I've come back. Last night, my 6th visit, was endgame. I've grilled sardines myself; I know about the bones. I could not manage the smallest morsel without plucking bones from my mouth. Worse, even the mushy tomato accompaniment couldn't compensate for the dry, overlooked nasty looking fish themselves. A shrimp dish came with feta cheese and the gooiest orzo (also soaked in unappetizing tomato sauce) I've ever eaten. The place is pleasant looking, the servers are friendly, and the wine is still good. Everything else needs attention. Two glasses of wine, two first courses, plus tax and 20% tip came to almost $100.

The food is really excellent, service use to be better, there are room for improvement, they forget about your table but they are very friendly. The are some different and interesting wine

Very much enjoyed our dinner here. The service was very good as was the food. Great atmosphere too though a little loud upstairs so we were accommodated on the main level. The food has a Cretan influence, making it all the better. A solid restaurant that we'll visit again.

My headline says it all. Why can't they figure out how to make this work better? The food is really good. The service is really bad. And don't bother making a reservation -- it really doesn't matter much.

A friend in the upper East Side suggested to try this popular and relatively new Greek restaurant in her neighborhood. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, it was packed though it was mid-week (our judicious friend had wisely thought of reserving), a little noisy but overall pleasant (Greek-style background music was playing at an appropriately low volume), full of light and with a busy, joyful atmosphere. Our table was near the entrance, which we did not particularly enjoy as it was a cold evening and the staff did not pay enough attention to ensure the door would stay closed as customers went in and out. I had blissfully envisioned Dolmades as appetizer, which I was devastated to find out it was not on the menu, so we moved on and shared a “choice of three” spreads, then went for mains: Mousaka, Xisias Souvlaki (with grilled swordfish) and Melitzanes Imam (with braised aubergines), all very good; though full, we could not resist to try the Baklavas for a proper finale. With two beers and one espresso, the bill was $144 for the three of us, which I found pricey. Service was polite and efficient, though the staff missed their call to greatness when they did not proactively refill the bread basket (we were too polite to each other to grab that last slice …) to let us finish the leftover spreads.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. What else one can ask? Lovely place and will come back.

The Greek debt crisis has been in and out of the news for the past several years. I have a solution. Export Greek cuisine globally. Open restaurants like Korali and repatriate earnings back to the Greek Central Bank. It's a great space, noisy but not over the top. All three courses were terrific. We started with the zucchini croquettes, with yogurt dill. Go for the soft shell crab when in season, even if it's a bit pricey. My black sea bass was OK, but I've had better at other Greek restaurants. The baklava was massive, maybe a bit too much cinnamon. We will be back!

Each dish was cooked perfectly in a lovely atmosphere with attentive service. The calamari appetizer was tender and flavorful. The spanakopita was a slightly different version than I’m used to (less feta) but the pie was flaky and flavorful. The salad with chicken had the perfect blend of seasoning and the pasta dishes were delightful. Definitely give it a try!

fun place to be for early or late dinner. excellent Greek food, starting with the drinks, the Greek dips with home made pita bread and on to the grilled food. just marvelous. Active bar where dinner can also be served. a fun place overall.

Fabulous ambience and decor Great food....awesome, sweet, friendly staff Best Greek salads I’ve ever had, and and I’ve had the pleasure/privilege of dining/visiting Athens and Crete.... Steak and shrimp dishes great Pita bread and dips great Desserts beyond.... Great attention to detail and quality in this UES eatery Generally packed with foodies & Beauties....lol Thank you Christopher Bayer New York, New York

We made our reservation online. We were greeted with a genuine smile. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was superb. The cuisine brought back memories of our trip to Greece. The serving sizes were perfect. There is a good assortment of apps and entrees, both from sea and land. We never felt rushed. What a wonder find.

We had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was pleasant, the waitstaff helpful and the food was delicious. Our group had four adults and two children.Everyone found something to please them. We ordered two different salads, branzino for two, Chilean sea bass, eggplant and chicken skewers for the kids. No one left hungry. Will definitely return in the future.

Four of us ate here, mid-week, on the early side. You'd never get a crowd like this at 7:30pm in Athens, but it's New York on a work night. We sat right in the middle of the restaurant, the bar to my left, and more tables to my right. One of our friends did all the appetizer ordering, and they were so delicious: octopus, olive things, and more. For entrée I had something I'd not ordered in more than 30 years: moussaka. It was excellent. The service was outstanding, and all the staff made a continuous fuss over us...in a good way, from the owner/manager on down to the servers. Will definitely come back here!

Terrific. Food, wonderful service and a festive light atmosphere. Love the people who run the place and their style. Make you feel at home and it works

We had dinner at this place. A bit crowded but the staff was friendly and efficient. We liked the food. I had sea food plater, my daughter had salmon and soup of the day and my son-in-law had LaBrack fish. We all enjoyed.

What a wonderful surprise, truly authentic Greek cuisine. Best I’ve had anywhere in NYC. Keep up the great food. Thank you We’ve been back 4 more times and they yet to disappoint. It really is outstanding with attentive service and excellent management Now that we’ve become regulars we’re even more warmly greeted by the management and staff, especially when they hear us speak a word or 2 in Greek. They also know how often I travel there. We’ve probably had every appetizer on the menu and each one is unique and brings out the traditional flavors of Greece. The fresh fish, lamb chops, lamb shoulder and Moussaka remind me of being in a Greek taverna. Everything really is classic. They’re doing a great job. Karasto! We decided tonight was the perfect time to go back to Korali, 1.) because we enjoy the food; 2.) because the weather was so nice we could sit by the doors & 3.) because I’ve recently read so reviews that were so disappointing that we had to see if there was a change in the food or service. Well let me say we weren’t disappointed at all, we brought friends with us who’d never been there before and they loved it. Everything was outstanding. For appetizers we had the halumi, a plate of the sagunaki, octopus and chips. The entrees were a mixed seafood dish, lamb shoulder and a traditional mousaka. Each dish was perfectly prepared, served at the right temperature etc. All of us left totally satisfied and looking forward to our next visit to, “a taste of Greece.”

We had an early lunch on Sunday and it was very lovely - service was superb, food was delicious, drinks were the best we had for a ling time. Its our 3rd time there and we keep coming back when we want Greek food. We were not let down and definitely will go again.

We visited Korali this past Saturday for dinner with my husband, it was recommended from a friend. Upon walking in I was taken back by the beautiful decor. We were greeted by a lovely staff. For appetizers we ordered the Grilled Octopus, it was both tender and so tasty. Also we shared the delicious Gigantes. We are Greek so a little picky and can really appreciate the authenticity of the food. For dinner we ordered the Striped Bass and the Salmon, you can taste how fresh it was. We complimented the owner and he mentioned to us how he goes himself to the fish market and chooses the freshest fish for the restaurant. You can tell! dessert we shared the Loukoumades, which are my favorite! I would totally recommend Korali to all my friends. We will be back!

We came, two Copeles to enjoy quit dinner at this neighborhood resteraunt in Manhattan and that what we got. The music , old Greek music was pleasant and the waiter was pietiont too. I started with a nice glass of Uzo to get into the Greek mood and ordered two meters; Halumi Cyprus’s chees - and sardines. The halumi was fine but not . all four of us liked the sardines. from the main dishes Ibwould like to praise the swordfish kabub and the veggy Musaka The deserts were good too spaichelly the frute geek yugort With the coffe we paid 200 dollars plus tip but we did not had a reason to complaint Yasu

What a delight to discover Korali! Ordered the grilled octopus appetizer on the advice of our waiter, and it was superb. When I asked him how they got it so tender, he allowed it was because they beat it before cooking it...honestly the most tender octopus I have ever tasted. A delicious sauvignon blanc, a grilled sea bass, followed by a delicious Greek dessert wine (who knew?), and I felt like I was back in Athens. Attentive service and pleasant atmosphere. ..best Greek restaurant in the city, for my money, and totally unpretentious. ...

From the time you arrive you are very nice welcome. Service is really good and friendly. The food is really very good and all of it is made in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Good food, good service and George “ the manager/owner” was gracious, helpful and accommodating. Try it- you’ll like it.

Open airy well lit place with ugh ceilings and big windows. Varied menu with. Balance of fish and meat and vegetables. Carefully preparted and quite tasty. Came out hot and good portion size. Good in all ways

I'm of Greek heritage and am picky when eating Greek food in restaurants, normally preferring my family's. This is real greek food and elegantly made. The ambience is gorgeous and service perfect.

Seriously good. You should make reservations even midweek. This has gone from being a neighborhood find to being a destination restaurant I strongly recommend the octopus fava appetizer. The seafood yuvestsi (seafood with orzo pasta). The lamb yuvestsi. And for dessert the magical greek yogurt.

Showed up without a reservation around 8:30 with a party of 7. They were able to accommodate us very quickly even with a full house. The lamb kebab was amazing. The meatballs were also great and they have very fast service. Reasonably priced as well

We went on a snowy night with family, and we couldn't have been happier! Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and the food was fantastic! Taramasalata was better than any I have had in the US. Moussaka is to die for. I plan to order a veggie moussaka (have to order it three days ahead) so I can bring some to my daughter in the hospital later this week. All mezze were delicious! Baklava a perfect finale!

This place has been in operation for 2 months. Had dinner last week and it was outstanding. The Restaurant is visually beautiful, three separate seating areas. They have a balcony and many love the balcony. Staff are very accommodating. Food was excellent. The Fried Calamari is not to be missed. Ask for their specials. I had grilled sardines which were excellent and order a side of their Lemon Roasted Potatoes, yummy beyond belief.Someone in our party had the Lamb Chops and said they were excellent. I am going back there for dinner is weekend. Only opened for dinner at this time.

Korali is our favorite restaurant for family Sunday night dinners. The large menu of authentic Greek food offers something for everyone,. Each dish is prepared with care and they use fresh ingredients. The staff is always friendly and the owner is very welcoming. We like it so much, we chose Korali to celebrate our anniversary this year. They have a great selection of wine and champagne.

We walked by many times and finally tried it. What a great surprise. Great food, great service. Excellent appetizers as well as top quality fish. This place holds up with all the fancier midtown upscale greek restaurants. Even the drinks come fast and are perfectly prepared. Will for sure be back!

We were asked to try a new restaurant with a couple with whom we dine with some frequency - so ti was a new experience for all four of us. From the start (save for a bit of under action at the door - the hostess pointed to our seats and had to be encouraged to take us to them as we had no idea where she was pointing) we enjoyed everything. Great and creative waiter who was very responsive - good wine list with favorites from Santorini - great grilled seafood appetizer ( a bit of everything) and great grilled fish.

I don't usually write reviews, even if I had bad experience. But not this time. I don't know how this place got 4.8 rating. It's a mystery to me. The setting is nice and wait staff is not bad either. And then comes the food... Out of 4 items on the menu we tried none deserves even a little praise. And 2 were a standout in a worst possible way. Fried calamari were impossible to chew, and the lamb didn't have any taste whatsoever. When I asked about such a bland taste, I've got the answer that it was the chef's choice. Not that great, to say the least. Being in food industry I understand the hardship of making a satisfying meal, but this was pretty low by any standards.

We dined on a Friday evening at 8:45. I LOVED the fig drink, and then we had the Korali chips, Calamari, and fish dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious, and I can't wait to return to taste the rest of the menu!

This is a pretty spot but pricey. Best deal were the happy hour oysters. The seafood was good quality but make sure you inquire about the price of the day's specials. An $80 Branzino was a bit much. Sides were nothing special. Enjoyed dessert but would not recommend or return.

Ate here on a Saturday night by chance and was delighted with delicious food. The service was attentive and the atmosphere is tranquil and pretty. We shared grilled octopus, a Greek salad, and a whole grilled Red Snapper, along with side dishes such as grilled veggies and fried potatoes. The Greek wine we enjoyed was refreshing and crisp and was suggested by the waiter. Portion sizes were generous. Very satisfied and will definitely come back to try other dishes on the extensive menu.

Superb cuisine , fresh fish , delicious, so very authentic Mediterranean and staff, ambience and professional fabulous hospitable owner Gregory makes u feel welcome like you are the only diner in restaurant! A must go in NYC. Welcome edition on UES.

Went for dinner the other day. I enjoyed the refresh on the space. It was a bit on the noisy side inside, but we sat in the lower level and got away from the bulk of the sensory overload so that we can concentrate on the food fare. The service was very good, the orders arrived in short order and the food was prepared well with interesting flavoring and plating. I would have to rate this opening a success.

We took our son and daughter-in-law here for our birthdays and we all had a great meal. The casual restaurant is tastefully decorated and has a good sized bar, where several individual patrons were eating. Service was very attentive and efficient. I had the grilled Octopus and the others had the lentil soup as an app. The Octopus was perfectly cooked and seasoned and all agreed the large bowl of lentil soup was delicious and could have been a meal. for the main courses, the branzino was perfectly cooked and was the whole fish, de-boned served with the head on. The lemon potato that came with the fish were delicious. The lamb kabob was delicious as well. We will definitely be back. Visit if you are visiting the UES.

Even if the restaurant is located a little far away from the classic touristic areas, I totally recommend Korali: warm ambience, delicious seafood and great waiter.

Wanted to try this place since we moved to the UES, 6 months ago. We arrived and were seated in the back of the restaurant a few doors from the bathroom and the kitchen. Not the worst seats... we could have been seated next to the woman who brought her tiny dog along with squeaky toys to keep him happy. Seriously. Our waiter was less than attentive - seemed to have a hearing problem. We ordered three spreads and halloumi for our appetizers. The halloumi was great; the spreads were just average. Our waiter apparently forgot to put in our entree orders. We waited and waited as other couples came in, ordered, received their appetizers. We asked, we waited for over 20 minutes after our appetizer plates were cleared. The delay for our entrees was inexcusable. I ordered the special, halibut on roasted brussels sprouts. The shrimp and scallops entree was mediocre. Our waiter apologized for the delay when he finally brought the entrees. It was just not enough. Nothing was comped and it was very expensive. I will not be coming back.

This place continues to please. The food is excellent; the service is friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is clean, crisp, and attractive. We've never had a bad meal here. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

a wonderful newcomer on the block: wonderful ambiance, pretty decor (you actually feel like you're somewhere in Greece!) the food is unfuzy and really tasty, elegantly and simply presented. the seafood is fresh, the sides are varied, the greek wine selection ample. the staff is very attentive and I felt hey went out of their way to make sure you had a good time and enjoyed our meal. my only recommendation would be to add a few cheaper wines to their list, to create a bit more "range" in price.

A noisy, fun environment, with three separate dining areas. We choose the downstairs room and it is much quieter than the main room or upstairs. The management greeted us warmly and the serving help with friendly and helpful. We shared a number of starters and everyone enjoyed them. The salads were large and fresh and easily shared.Main courses were fish, chicken and vegetarian, and all were very good. Prices were fair, but it does add up quickly when you order a number of dishes. It is a good restaurant to keep in mind when going to the 92 St Y, as it is not far away.

Went yesterday with a friend to this restaurant. Very nice environment (all in white, very greek looking) And delicious food with spinach pie, zucchini fried balls And greek lasagna..will go again !

I liked the decor of this restaurant. We were seated in the cute upstairs loft. I was very happy with my lamb shank, it was prepared perfectly and a nice sized serving. My friend had the sea bass special which was dry. The server was slow and not attentive. I would return and hope for better service.

This location formerly housed a restaurant called Osso Bucco. Korali has a very pretty main floor (see my photos) and a boring, all white, no pictures on the wall, 2nd floor. I was disappointed with the food, and the service due to not enough wait staff on the 2nd floor, where I ate (I don't know if there was sufficient staff on the main floor). As a result, my Lamb Chops were served luke warm, thereby offering little flavor. They were also served luke warm at the table next to mine five minutes after I got mine. When I told the manager about my Lamb Chops, he did not apologize. My appetizer was the Fried Calamari which had amazingly little flavor even though they were served hot. They absolutely needed the tomato sauce that came with them. After dipping them in the tomato sauce, most of the time, all you tasted was tomato sauce.

It’s consistently good! So happy with choices of food and beverages. The prosseco cocktail was great. We had the octopus appetizer (yummy) and branzino for 2 which comes with 2 sides (delicate, yummy). So much food: we could have skipped the tatziki and eggplant dips. The interior is gorgeous, you feel transported to Greece. Staff is warm and attentive. So nice to have in the neighborhood. Prices are a bit on the expensive side though...

I was here for dinner with friends and it was fantastic! The appetizers were great, the wine was great, and the fish was perfect! My partner and I shared a red snapper. There was carrot cake for dessert and it was refined.

The food was quite good snd the service generally on point with a few exceptions. Decent value snd their spreads on pita were excellent. No Horta there but spinach snd Greek potatoes were good. The Greek you hurt was awesome as was the baklava . We eat outside but chose the outside seating on. O93 street where it is more quiet, Nice spot to meet friends

We had grilled octopus and lightly fried calamari and split a salad of greens with feta and lots of fresh dill for a late (3:00) lunch after visiting the Guggenheim. The octopus was tender with a wonderful grilled flavor and the calamari was tender and very tasty as well. We split a huge piece of baklava for dessert – the filo dough had lost its crispiness, but the filling was delicious. I ordered a café Americano, but was served a café lungo, which is about 10 times better than an Americano. Service was excellent.

We have walked by Korali numerous time and wanted to try it. Now we have and will not be returning. Apparently the ceiling lights were not working on one side of the upper dining room so they put stick on battery powered lights- the lights kept crashing all around us. We told them we would rather be in the dark than get hit by falling lights so we used the light on our phone to order. Greek salad was fine but he medley of Greek spreads was just ok and the bread was not top notch. Then the runner arrived and spilled my wife's entire entree on the table. All in all a pretty crappy experience and the food was below average for a NY Greek restaurant. We will not be returning.

Korali is in a new location for a year or two. We have never been disappointed. Food is always filling and fresh. Start with a Horiatiki salad. Big chunks of ripe tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, olives, onions and more. We enjoyed the Branzino for Two last week. The Moussaka is almost too much to eat. It's full of ground lamb and it's satisfyingly rich. Dessert can be their delicious Greek yogurt with fresh fruit or a crisp phyllo with warm custard filling that I relished to the last flake. Enjoy!

Perfectly prepared, top quality Greek fare! I've been here twice for lunch. The food both times was delicious! The service is friendly and helpful. It's now on my favorites list.

We originally went to Korali right after it opened and our experience, especially with the service was very poor. We went back for dinner with friends last night and had a wonderful time. Our reservation was honored, the food was absolutely delicious and the service -- our waitress was Athena -- was really spectacular. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I love the service the food and the tall ceilings and ambiance. Great restaurant and wish i did not have to share this news. Love this for special occasions! Enjoy!

A nice salad and dessert everything else in between very bad. I ordered the Branzini it was mushy and tasteless ( I suspect it was an old piece of fish) – my wife had the vegetarian moussaka which was just terrible. We pointed this out to the waiter and at least he was gracious enough to take off the moussaka from the bill and give us a free dessert. I would not recommend going nor will I ever go back

Very good service, large size portion, nice location. It seems to me that is a restaurant that locals go. The down part of it is that the wine list is very expensive

What a good find! A 6:30 reservation was perfect for an 8:00 concert at the 92Y two blocks away. My husband had eaten a late lunch so he had a Horiatki salad and a mussel appetizer which was almost a dinner-sized portion. He raved about the sauce. I had the Greek Avgolemono soup, delicious and the swordfish kebab. If you cook, you know how difficult it is to achieve a tender and moist swordfish. Korali did. It was perfect. A shared hazelnut ice cream was powdery, left most of it. Also once restaurant was full, the noise level was louder than we like. That won’t deter us–food was too good. We’ll return.

Korali served up some of the best seafood I've had north of 59th Street. It's nice to see quality restaurants like this open up this far north it's nicely designed as well

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Prices are reasonable for NYC and the food was delicious. Cute restaurant as well. Had the horiatiki salad and lavraki fish. All wonderful. Would come back again for sure!

This is a great addition to the ues. It is much better than Yefsi. The prices are reasonable, fish is fresh and the atmosphere is nice.

A true taste of Greek food. Never disappointed. From salad to dessert always fresh, well prepared and courteous service. Reservations recommended.

I had a dinner with my wife. The restaurant was painted white on whole the walls and the bar corner was sophisticated. I ordered tarama salad and calamari for appetizer. Both meals tasted like frozen foods. As for the main course, the sea bass and lamb chops were tasty. Our server looked a manager of the dining hall and more professional than other servers. However, he had been busy to give instructions to other younger servers, and in total, we could not relax for his services. Since the price was relatively reasonable, here would be an option for casual lunch & dinner.

We discovered Korali on a recent NYC visit. Excellent atmosphere, great service and absolutely delicious food. Baby lamb chops, lemon chicken, shrimp saganaki and meatballs were all excellent. Service very attentive without being intrusive. This is definitely on our list to visit again on our next visit!

There's a new star on the New York restaurant scene, as my friend of mine and I discovered last night. Korali's excellence took us by surprise. This is a restaurant dedicated to pleasing its visitors., with a passion for excellence. The bright airy Mediteranian décor makes the a relatively small venue cheerful, spacious and comfortable. The hosts and the wait staff alike made us feel genuinely welcome -- a rarity. Our server was well informed, and attentive without being intrusive, and knew just which wine out of an impressive selection wine to pair with our meal The other servers seemed equally conscientious. The food was outstanding. Greek cuisine is one of the freshest, most naturally delicious in the world; the kitchen showed this off to perfection. A broad sampling of dishes revealed only the freshest ingredients, skillfully prepared to maximize their flavor -- and your enjoyment. Try their smoky, not-at-all oily melitzanoslata (pureed eggplant with herbs), their plump spanakopita (spinach and feta cheese in crispy puff pastry) with succulent filling . No cutting corners here. The fish was so fresh and flavorful that I asked which store it came from so I could shop there from now on. Do yourself a favor and try the Greek yogurt desert -- creamy and full delicious fruit surprises: The only downside was the lack of acoustic buffering. The music drowned out conversation. Once again, our hosts were exceptionally gracious, honoring our request to lower it right away and keeping it throughout our stay. But as the place filled up, it did get loud. Given Korali's eagerness to please, I suspect that already management is exploring ways to mitigate this. The pricing seemed very reasonable to us. There are far pricier "name" restaurants around which, trust me, can't hold a candle to this impressive start-up. .

Food was very good. Good portion control. Good service but out of retsina, Greek wine that day. A bit disappointing. Room a bit noisy. Good experience overall. I recommend it.

There have been a number of other restaurants that have occupied this excellent space on Manhattan's Upper Easr Side. Korali is likely to be the final occupant and will be here for a very, very long time. Great vibe and tolerably noisy. Our Greek Salad was okay, but not as good a selection as everything else we enjoyed. The Korali Chips which are thin cut zucchini and eggplant chips, lightly fried and served with Tzatziki were wonderful. Our two fish dishes, Atlantic Cod and Grilled Swordfish Kebab served with vegetables were both excellent. Our sides: Broccoli Rabe and Sautéed Baby Spinach were also delicious. Our server, Milena, was very attentive and helpful thus adding to our dining experience. I appreciated the complimentary dessert once they heard that it was my birthday. We'll be back again...and again.

Had dinner with a group of friends and experienced an amazing assortment of tasty and exciting Mediterranean entrees and appetizers at Korali. From the incredible cheeses to the grilled octopus, all the items at Korali were an adventure for the pallet. A treat on the Upper East side is Korali.

Just a lovely Greek restaurant with great atmosphere. love sitting upstairs although downstairs is also very comfortable. The staff immediately is welcoming and very attentive during the entire dinner. The octopus was the best I’ve ever had and my friend told me this is consistent. Mousaka was light and tasty and the brazino fish was excellent and reasonably priced. all in all a great place

They do have a way with fish and seafood. My friend and I shared the special: a perfectly prepared branzino, served with two sides of our choosing. We ordered a lovely assyrtiko to accompany the meal. In addition, we shared an appetizer and a dessert. The room has got that Greek island vibe, with whitewashed tables and chairs and sea-blue trim. Very pleasant experience overall, but it was overpriced for an "everyday" experience. Save for a special occasion.

Hello! Four of us walked into this lovely restaurant last night without reservations and they welcomed us in out of the cold night with open arms! Our meals were perfect -- the best Greek food we've had in years. Everybody was so friendly, we didn't want to leave but we had a lecture to attend. We will be back! Thank you Korali for a lovely experience!

I honestly was so excited to go to this restaurant. Such great reviews, such positive compliments from my friends! So come Saturday evening, we saw the place was packed, but they said they could squeeze the two of us in - my boyfriend and I. It started off poorly immediately - the waiter continually forgot to take our food order, forgot to bring our bread out, he also forgot our wine repeatedly, and even put in our appetizers wrong. I understand when you're slammed you can make mistakes, but we didn't even get an apology. I ordered lamb for my main course. This is a Greek restaurant, after all. This should be the star of the show. However, lamb needs to be cooked just right - it can get really dry if cooked too long. I had high expectations and was faced with utter disappointment when I received a lamb so overcooked that I had to send it back. Again, no apologies from the waiter. The lamb comes back to me, this time RAW. I start to cut into every piece to see that each is inedible. I send it back. My boyfriend had finished his meal at this point and my patience was wearing thin and we were tempted to leave. However, I stayed optimistic - third time's a charm. They overcooked it AGAIN. And not only that, they had taken my pieces (which I had hacked into) and stuck them under the broil. They didn't even bother to make it from the start. I barely could eat any of it. Again, no apologies from the waiter. At this point I was fuming - not to mention that I was taking my boyfriend out for dinner so the bill was coming to me. I barely give the waiter any tip (I felt guilty leaving 0% but in retrospect, I should have). On our way out, the manager stopped us, clearly aware that our experience was sub-par. I tell him yes, we had a rough dinner and we were thoroughly disappointed. I explain to him in detail what had happened. However- to my utter shock- he turns to my BOYFRIEND and apologizes to HIM and shakes HIS hand, introducing himself by first name and tells him the next meal is on the house. Did I mention that I had paid the bill? That I had complained to the manager? And I was treated at that moment as I was invisible. I really wish I had said something but I was so shocked and blown away by this blatant display of sexism that I could just stand there - jaw on the floor. Bad food, bad service is deserving of a low grade, but being treated as second class to my boyfriend fully deserves zero stars. Unfortunately, TripAdvisor doesn't allow that so the best I can do is warn others and let the manager know that he needs to fully educate himself on how women should be treated in the 21st century.

Food is still excelent: fantastic seafood, fresh everything. Great meze and yummy octopus appetizer (this last one grilled to perfection). The branzino special for 4 was delicate, tasty, just perfect. I love the decor, and ambiance. Even sitting at the bar is great: you feel like you're somewhere in Greece. The only minus was service was really slow....Love going there. It's a neighborhood gem!

Korali offers the most delicious and fresh seafood around. Their Greek offerings, the usual suspects, are always excellent. My husband and I have become hooked on their smelts as well as their huge New Zealand mussels. Gregori is the most gracious and welcoming host and his bartender Beata is very skillful and her lovely smile makes you feel right at home.

After the New York Times reviewed Korali, the secret is out! Excellent food and super service. Excellent addition to UES. You will need a reservation and then enjoy!

We visited Korali on a Wednesday and got lucky to get a table because we were there relatively early. By the time we left it was packed. It is a lovely restaurant with attentive staff and authentic Greek food.

The food is outstanding..always fresh...the fish is impeccable...I have never eaten a meal there I didn't love. The decor is alluring and the staff are always professional and polite. Can't get enough of this place!

Nice waitress, but the food was way less than expected. $37 for 5 small overcooked shrimp!!! it was so busy and hard to get their attention that i didnt even protest at the time, but now looking at the picture I wish I had. Outrageous

The dinner menu was attractive, listing gluten-free items, so I booked Korali for my wife and I and a friend. The salads, seafood, wine and cappucinos were very, very good. But ordering and getting a check took a bit of time from an over-worked waiter. Meanwhile, busboys were all over the place -- you could barely put down a skewer before a passing busboy would snatch it off the table. We'll definitely come back, and hope that they've promoted a busboy to a waiter in the meantime.

This was a great surprise..... Loved it so much will be going back for the third time in a week... Priced really right .. But more importantly the food was outstanding Worth while going out of the way for ..Don't forget the dessert ... The Baklava was outstanding as well as the Greek Yogurt with dried fruits... no I am not a relative

Lovely place for a meal. The food is authentically Greek and tasty. Excellent service and a comfortable ambiance. I will want to visit again!

Upper east side Greek fare was very accommodating to our family of 13. Lovely space with nice staff. Very nice menu with great apps. The apps were our favorite part of the meal. Splurge there. The mains were classic and very good. Nice wine from Greece too.

A terrific menu with authentic greek flavors - a true gem on the upper east side! Moussaka very good, Tzaziki is terrific, fish is all very good, Galatoboureko dessert is very good, Octupus appetizer also very nice, etc. make a reservation for dinner so u will not be disappointed - it can be busy!
Lovely Dinner!
My friends and I were headed to a Broadway show so we stopped by Korali for dinner beforehand. We didn't have a reservation but the staff figured out how to squeeze us in anyway. Food was excellent and service outstanding. Highly recommend!
