I thoroughly enjoyed the food I had during my visit to L'Amico. The pizza was absolutely top notch and a reasonable portion for a lunch without being overwhelming. I love the design of the space and the decor as well. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars was the service. It felt pretty frenetic, even by Manhattan standards, and I felt sorry for the staff who seemed a bit overwhelmed. I ordered an iced tea that arrived well after my food only after I inquired about it and it took quite some time to get the check, so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're in a time crunch.

140$ for burned food, 50g of Alla Vongole Spaghettis and two glasses of wine ! This is ridiculous. Ok we are in NYC but so what ? No particular location, just along a crowded street, no view, nothing justifying prices like that. Basic service, loud, to avoid ! To the owner => go to Europe, have some good food and learn from it. THEN you can ask such prices. Try to serve that in Europe and you’ll be closed after a month. This is insulting. Avoid ! !

Great food! Don't suggest for large groups. Had my wedding dinner and was not given proper seating even after weeks of communication, and managers didn't seem to care.

We had a couple of evening meals here, one inside and one outside. Inside was pretty crowded, noisy and buzzy - just on the right side of being too crowded. Outside retained the buzz but was just a bit more relaxing. Food was good, the pizzas great. Service good, very friendly. Well worth a visit (we went back for our second meal because we’d enjoyed the first one so much!)

Come here with clients for lunch and always solid. We arrived at 5:30 and sat outside on a nice evening. were seated by one waiter and when he didn't show up for almost 10 minutes we asked busboy to fine him so we could put in drink orders. A little while later we had anew waiter who spoke so softly we couldn't hear her. We ordered some wine by the glass and when she was done poring we all looked at each other because pour had to be 5 ounces or less for $16-20 a glass. We switched to a bottle as they have nice Italian wine list. Food was very good. Pizza, meatballs and octopus to start and we all got the pasta bolognese made with veal shoulder which was great. I actually visited rest room and could not belive they had cool fusion restaurant and great bar in back of lobby. Next time I'll give that a shot but probably stick with lunch here and not dinner. They really don't have their **** totally togethor for such a moneymaker!

extremely noisy and quite expensive. pieces are very small. but food is good as well as service i am sure you can get better around. so i do not recommend

After over 250 reviews, TripAdvisor is at 4 stars even. I think that is just about right. Neat menu. Okay execution. Great wine list. The restaurant is built to have as many tables as possible and its restroom is in the sister restaurant in the hotel. A conscious decision has been made to have it be a 3-4 star high volume restaurant. No complaints. It is exactly what it wants to be.

As an update to my previous review, I can’t say enough good things about L’Amico. Not only is the food from the innovative chef consistently superb, but the menu also changes regularly. So you can keep coming back without fear of being bored (although there will always be an occasional favorite on hand, like the pica bolognese). The staff has that wonderful knack for judging your mood—always gracious and polite, pleased to have a chat with you if like, but leaving you alone if that’s what you want. Great food, great staff, great location, reasonable prices. What more can you ask? (As I have mentioned before, when it gets busy, you may have to wait for your table, even with a reservation. That’s what it takes to keep the place humming without charging an arm and a leg. Just be patient—the wait will be worth it.) BTW, they have a brick oven that reaches 900 degrees F. allowing the chef to get a fabulous char on his dishes and also to make excellent pizzas (go for one if you’re in the mood—you won’t regret it).

Really too noisy! The truffle pizza was prepared with a lot of button mushrooms that were too moist so the pizza was very “wet” To eat Italian, try the osteria Laguna, which is more off-centre but much better - and less expensive.

We were attracted by the world and the setting and we were not disappointed. We ate very well, refined Italian cuisine, you can see the chefs preparing the dishes from the open kitchen. The sommelier recommended the wine to us. It’s fresh and very good.

The speed at which this restaurant fills up (15 minutes after opening it is full) creates great expectations. I loved the spiced tuna crudo, and enjoyed the branzino with cremini mushrooms even more, but I was quite shocked by the sloppy service. The main dish arrived when I was still working on my appetizer. When I complained about this, the server just shook his head and left. Unacceptable!

Not far from Times Square, a stone's throw from the iconic 5th Avenue, a very welcoming place with a good quality of almost Italian food (in fact, from this point of view, the menu offers solutions that I would define as "creative"). Excellent ingredients, friendly staff and good value for money. Advised.

We had a cousins brunch on a Sunday morning and found the setting comfortable and accommodating. There was a choice of a breakfast buffet or individual disehes and we all got what we wanted. There was a living room setting where our 3 year old cousin could play with his Dad. The service was okay and friendly. It worked out well.

Excellent experience, fantastic food with numerous options to choose from. Service was very good with attentive staff.

I am in NYC for a few days on a business trip. This place is right next to the apartment where I am staying. I had the oysters as an app followed by spaghetti. Excellent food! Seating is very tight and it’s loud but the food and service were top notch!

Avoid this place. Arrogant service. Poor value for money (even for New York!) Average food. Bizarrely when they bring the credit card machine the amount due does not appear! And they get annoyed when asked about it.

Great little restaurant. The pizzas are delicious. We went there twice during our stay in New York. You absolutely need to book to find a place.

We stayed on the Eventi property and I can recommend it all, for breakfast lunch and dinner. Nice interior and good service. Very convenient.

Dinner before an MSG concert. Location was good but that’s where it ended. It was 15 minutes before a server came by. Wine by the glass was overpriced. We had to request bread. Crostini appetizer was good and the Pipe Rigate pasta entree was fine. But the spaghetti was appetizer size for $23. I was encouraged to add meatballs to it, which I declined, and now I know why! While we alerted our server to our timeframe, it took over almost an hour to receive our entrees so we had to pass on coffee and dessert...no time.

My wife and I walked the streets of New York when noticed nice, open air restaurant and what caught my eye, was deliciously looking pizza. Never mind my diet, I couldn't walk away, so I ordered it and have no regrets till today. All dishes looked fantastic and I'm sure they tasted good. I strongly recommend you this place, specially for lunch.

Having recently arrived at NYC we were looking for an early dinner. At 454pm we entered L'amico to be told the restaurant didn't open till 5pm (4 minutes later) - could we therefore wait in the hotel lobby next door and come back bang on 5pm. We did and went back at 502pm (6 minutes later) to the be told that the restaurant was actually full up and they couldn't seat us.... wow!

We were a party of 6 on a cold friday night and we all enjoyed our meal. It is one of two restaurants located inside the Eventi Hotel. The bar is kind of small so as soon as our entire party arrived we sat. There was nice energy inside and there is outside seating when the weather permits. The servers were very attentive and the maitre d came over a couple of times to make sure everything was ok. We started with a gluten free pizza and some salads. I had grilled octopussy which was great( not the biggest portion). For entrees we had fish, pasta, chicken and steak. Everything was great but the Hound said steak portion was on the small side—keep in mind the Hound is on the big side. The gelato for dessert was great. Pricing was fair for a nyc hotel restaurant(fair not inexpensive)$175 per couple including some drinks and tip. I would certainly return.

I was in NYC in May and stumbled upon this great place on a busy Friday evening. We walked in without reservations. The manager upon learning that we were from South Africa went out of his way to make us feel good. We had glass after glass of free prosecco. Service was amazing. The food was fantastic. I had a fish and it was excellent.

Drove past this place a few times on our 4 day stop over in Manhattan and from the outside and even the inside this place should be fantastic. But after the initial heart attack on the menus prices,we still thought we’d give it a go. Wish we hadn’t. A relatively basic 10” wood burning oven pizza (tomato and soft cheese.... no protein at all) was $26 and to be fair tasted nice, but to have an airline set of cutlery which wouldn’t cut the already sliced pizza which was served on a plastic plate and a piece of grease prof paper like Wendy’s and Burger King used to serve burger in was a bit much. I don’t see why I should pay these prices and have to eat the pizza with my hands because your cutlery is airplane safe!!!!! You can’t charge Michelin star prices with such shoddy execution. Cheapest beer was $10 a bottle, not even a pint. The venue and vibe promises so much but the 3 of us left after 3 main courses in less than 30mins. Not exactly a night to remember and we saw many others also questioning the food.

We were two, for a late night light supper. We had the meatballs, charred cauliflower, and some wine. The meatball appetizer is very large, and they were delicious, with a tasty, fresh sauce. The charred cauliflower is flavorful and has a great texture. We loved it!!

My husband and I had dinner there on October 8, 2022 and were enthusiastic about the menu and ambiance, which are both quite good. I ordered the fire roasted chicken, which was more likely cooked in a panini grill. For the first time in many years I sent my dinner back because it was so badly burned it was inedible. The second plate was properly cooked but tasted like “shake and bake” chicken with bitter, tough rapini for the vegetable. My husband’s meal was even worse. He decided to eat his burned mushroom pizza even though it was greasy and didn’t taste too good. When we left the restaurant, we immediately walked to Walgreens to get some Pepto Bismal because his stomach hurt and he felt sick. Likely because of cheaply produced cheese and because the crust was burned. This is the first restaurant review I’ve ever left because the we found the food to be so terrible, and my husband insisted that I post something about our experience.

I am surprised by the negative reviews. I had a very good experience. Our server was very helpful in addressing my concerns about gluten. She was pleasant and personable. The pizza and cannoli were delicious.

We visited the restaurant two weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. The manager is a gem - I felt as if we were eating at a local restaurant in Bucks County PA. She made us feel so welcomed. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We had the squash caponta with burrata to start (excellent), followed by the agnolotti (delicious) and the roasted chicken (very, very good, but needed a little au jus). When we left the sous chef asked us about our dinner - how often does that happen? I would go back in a heart beat and we felt it was reasonably priced for NYC

An outstanding overall experience. Our server recommended a nice dry Italian white for the ladies. I had a whiskey sour which was excellent. (Ordering whiskey sours for me tends to be a hit-and-miss experience, but this one was perfect.) The shared appetizer was lamb meatballs served in a red sauce, a fine starter, served with a fresh-off-the grill garlic toast as a perfect accompaniment. Our main courses were wild boar ravioli, grilled scallops and a simple buttered pasta with reggiano from the specials list--all very nicely prepared and presented. We were running a little to late to catch a train so, unfortunately, we had to pass on dessert.

L’Amico was recommended by our hotel and it did not disappoint. We had a table booked for 1700. Right from the off staff were very friendly and we had a great seat looking out onto 6th Avenue. Our waitress Jade was fantastic and explained all the things on the menu and could not do enough to make us feel welcome. The food and wine were excellent with an open plan kitchen where you could watch your food being prepared. Very atmospheric, great staff and great food. We will go back next time we are in New York.

Didn't know what to expect as the place is large and thought at first the food would be so so but I was wrong. The food was awesome and tasted like it was made from scratch and it was all fresh. Shared a few dishes including Brussel sprouts salad (have to try it), sea bass and fresh pasta. All good!!!

We had some really good food here and really would have liked it a lot better if there was someone running the show here. Was it really a sommelier? I doubt it! Was there someone around to answer questions? No! Noise levels were unacceptable!!

I had Pizza here but found it wasn’t anything special in fact pretty average and the wait was long although the staff apologised for the delay we wasn’t offered any bread like you do get in other places! They also used plastic plates for your pizza!! Like some would say “ been there tried it but wouldn’t return”

Delicious pastas and pizzas were the highlights. However, the appetisers we had were pretty ordinary. The Frito Misto was over floured and over fried. While the mozzarella with watermelon was flavourless.

You cannot go wrong with this place! All of their dishes are absolutely exquisite with an excellent wine selection to boot. It’s the perfect place to eat if you’re staying in Chelsea/near Times Square - I highly recommend eating here & sharing a few dishes to savour all they have to offer (pasta, mains and pizza!). Try the bundino for dessert!

A birthday invitation selected this restaurant and my host said "This is my favorite," and now it is mine, too. However, this place after work packs diners in and reservations are a must. Though they have an open kitchen view, it is a bit warmer in that area so I politely asked my host to change to seats closer to the outdoor dining area. This place is also connected to a hotel and is close to Pennsylvania Station so it is popular The menu listed Pie was a surprise as it really was pizza, but not anything ordinary about it, My friend devoured the whole sweet sausage Pie and did not share. However, sharing to some degree seems to be okay here When you are first seated the waiter brings over delicate Italian procuitto twirled into a rosebud shape on a delicious cracker as a welcome treat, and that was nice. Although I was told that their housemade pasta is excellent I opted for Branzino fish with a side of charred cauliflower. At the end of the meal a large slice of watermelon topped with Gelato and a single birthday candle made the evening perfecto.. (This arranged by my host in advance when he made the reservation,so plan in advance if you go.). Although the after work crowd dominated the scene, I saw several well behaved families there at well, good to know!!!

We sat for 25 minutes before we asked the manager where our server was. The server came over, took our order and we never saw her again. It was 50 minutes before we ate our food. And the restaurant was not busy. Our reservation was at 6pm! Our food was exceptional though. I had the ricotta ravioli and my husband had the sausage pasta. We also had cauliflower and zucchini as sides. Cauliflower was delicious. I’d pass on the zucchini next time. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. And it’s not foo foo. But we probably won’t return because the service was so poor. Even the gentleman who sat next to us complained about the service. Which the manager comped his meal. The manager never even offered to comp our meal or drinks. There are too many other great Italian restaurants with great service. Go to one of them instead.

A restaurant with a mouthwatering front and a beautiful decoration that unfortunately do not compensate for the mediocrity of the cuisine. Tasteless burger, fries that taste like all the food passed in frying oil, very average pizza served on a polyester plate on a paper that ends up eating with pizza. Attentive service that saves from disaster

Stopped in for our anniversary dinner. We have been here before and have never been disappointed. The food is outstanding and the menu has something for everyone. Jeremy the Manager directs a tremendous staff who makes sure that you enjoy your meal and the experience of dining in a great atmosphere. A special thanks to our server Andrea who was a delight to converse with and provided her input on what choices we had to dine on. Will be back for sure. Thanks Jeremy

We stumbled upon this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and we needed an early dinner spot before the theatre. Best find of our trip to NYC! We enjoyed it so much we came back for lunch another day. The atmosphere is nice - bright with good street view with open pizza ovens. The food was really good - the best we had our whole trip (and that included dinners at two other restaurants that have Michelin Stars). We had pasta dishes with prosciutto appetizers for dinner and we had pizza and gelato for lunch. Service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back to L'amico on our next visit. Highly recommend!

A very poor, bitter Bloody Mary to start, probably the worst I have ever had, which did not bode well. I ordered a simple pizza with mushrooms and sausage meat. The ingredients were fine but it was served on a paper napkin covering a plastic plate. The mushrooms were under cooked to the extent that the pizza was swimming in juice. The result was that the paper disintegrated under the pizza and I had to keep picking the devolved blue paper out of my food. I hope I don't get food poisoning and needless to say I won't be going back.

The restaurant had a nice buzzing but not too noisy atmosphere. The menu was very good and a bit different from other food places near Times Square. It was upmarket with excellent food and good service. There was a small error which was compensated for extremely professionally and I would definitely recommend. It isn’t cheap but there isn’t much that is cheap within 15 blocks of Times Square.

It will not be the most luxurious restaurant, but if it is beautiful set and the food delicious. I recommend seabass and marvel potato (I think it is spelled that way), they are baked papines gratin with a good amount of Parmesan cheese and with a mattress of a cream/cheese. Go very good!

Went with some friends while staying in town last week. Absolutely loved everything about I'Amico, perfect Casual Italian get together. Really loved the Burrata, Skirt Steak was super on point, and the Carbona was old world amazing! Thank you for a wonderful time taking care of all of us!

The Veal Scarpiello blew me away! Never had anything like it! Service was great, too, as were the meatballs. My wife enjoyed the rucola salad.

On the weekends, the restaurant serves from their brunch menu until 3pm. I happened to show up on a Saturday and while not really interested in brunch items (eggs, etc.) I decided to go for the Burger: From the menu: BURGER, gorgonzola, balsamic onion, hand cut fries . I'd have to say that this is one of the tastiest burgers I've had recently. The combination of gorgonzola and balsamic onion was incredible! It was a bit on the pricey side at $22 and not a huge burger, but huge on flavor. One surprise was the fries. A heaping bowl of fries was delivered, but the surprise was the mayo with a slight truffle flavor. I'm not a fan of overpowering truffle oil, but this was also delicious. Overall, I'd say the food was fantastic and I'd certainly return to try their regular lunch or dinner menu...especially the wood-fired pizza!

Booked reservation online via Resy, which was easy to do and got a table right away when they opened for dinner. Our server was friendly. We ordered a couple dishes. The roasted chicken was amazing as well as the sea bass. Not a good option for individuals with gluten free/daily free needs or picky eaters.

We stayed at the Kimpton and decided to have a quick late lunch with the family. Arriving at 14:01 we were told that there is no seating for 5 with half the restaurant empty (and yes the arrogant lady at the desk would have been required to put to tables together). Than we were told we are to late (the restaurant closes at 14:30 🤥). After my wife asked whether we could eat a quick Pizza at the bar - the answer was - yes you need to order before 14:15. as it was obvious that the concierge was not helpful - also not looking whether there is space for 5 at the bar - we decided to leave. The moral of the story - asking for a nice tip is one thing- no service and being arrogant the other. If you are simply not interested in guests you might need to look around for a job with no customer interaction. It’s the guest who pays you at the end and if you are not clever to understand this and act only in such an arrogant way you don’t need to wonder if you are running out of business. It’s a shame because the location is nice and just to make a final remark- the two guests who walked in front of us were allowed to take a seat (maybe the cut-off time was 1400.

Very good food, relaxing atmosphere with nice lighting, and overall we were very happy that we had dinner here. The pizzas and pastas were delicious, especially the veal ragu. Each of the desserts were very good - the tiramisu was the best I have had in a long time. Not too loud but not too quiet either. We will definitely be back and absolutely recommend this excellent restaurant.

Busy, energetic restaurant with amazing food. The pizzas with their blistered crusts, the perfectly cooked salmon filet my guest enjoyed, my Zucca pasta with butternut panna. I'm not a vegetarian, yet this veggie pasta satisfied a carnivore's tastebuds. Healthy portions, great attention to detail. Appropriately attentive service. I'm eager to return.

I m dissapointed. Very nice place, with green plants and modern decoratiom, but they served us burned pizza.

As this is popular restaurant not far from Times Square, I highly recommend making a reservation. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by the very friendly hostess who seated us by a window overlooking 6th Avenue. Our waiter quickly arrived to discuss the menu and take our drink order, and he was assisted by a number of staff to attend to our dinner. The starters that we had were excellent, but the star of the evening was the "Seafood Agnolotti" which was probably the best seafood entree that we have had in a very long time. Have a look at the menu for a description. The food, service, atmosphere was absolutely perfect, and we cannot say enough good things about our evening.

We were excited for a family get together and after some research, thought L’Amico looked like a good option for Sunday brunch so made a reservation for 1430. Maybe the staff was upset because this was the end if the brunch shift but they seemed angry at us! We were not at all demanding or rude. Our food orders were not modified at all. The first drink order (one cocktail and two iced tea...$6 iced tea, maybe 4 oz., with no refill) took 15 minutes to bring. Pasta carbonara and poached eggs were reportedly very good. Other food was ok but the attitude overshadowed anything good I have to say. A second server brought a coffee and dessert menu and appeared upset that two of us ordered coffee drinks! We reluctantly left a 20% tip. The highlight was the lovely restroom.

From the outside l’Amico looks beautiful and is the sort of oasis you’d kill to find in the heat and craziness of the city. On the inside it’s loud...shouting at each other across the table loud, hugely pretentious and staffed by irritating, condescending people who think they’re describing a dish to a Masterchef judge...it literally took a full minute to describe that the special was margarita pizza. The margarita pizza was ok, maybe the third or forth best I’d had in New York out of the three or four I’d eaten. The mushroom one my wife had was about a kilo a mushrooms thrown atop a base. The ice cream was good but how wrong can ice cream be! For all that it was some hideously expensive amount and the best part of the experience was leaving.

Was in town for a weekend visit, and after I screwed-up Sun. brunch reservations for another place uptown, L'Amico staff stepped in to make me look good. Fifteen minutes before my party was to be seated, I had asked to to move my reservation of seven diners back another half-hour. 'Ella' accomodated us without trouble. Then, as we were being seated, Ella QUIETLY asked if we were together for a celebration. One of us was in fact, a birthday diner, celebrating her 50th just a few days before, but we weren't at L'Amico to honor her. Each of us very much enjoyed our entrees with some rave reviews (baked eggs picante - foccacia formaggio- fresh vegetable omelet- were the standouts). After our meal, Ella and the staff subtly brought out a dessert for her with a small candle and Ella was keen enough to tell that the birthday girl didn't want to be embarassed with song. Thanks for the terrific send-off from our NYC weekend.

I'd been looking forward to dining at l'Amico for a long time. I saw one of their seasonal menus a few months back, and it was on my list ever since. Unfortunately, it just didn't live up to my expectations. The crab tostada was super fishy, the food was mediocre, and the service was lame to say the least. When I asked the server to bring me another glass of the same wine I'd been drinking, he brought me something much sweeter and insisted this one was "better." Then I realized after talking that he couldn't tell me which wine he'd even poured for me the first time. It was terrible. He also couldn't give details about the food. He kept saying that dishes had a "stronger" taste than others, but couldn't give any recommendations or descriptors. I won't be going back.

We held a private dinner for 15 at l'Amico and this place was so perfect. We loved everything, the food, the wine, the service. What a great find! The private dining area is perfectly situated away from the noise. I really look forward to booking this space again.

Not the cheapest of places but thought we’d try it as we were in the area. We Both ordered pizza , what could go wrong ? Well I ve had better pizza from the freezer at home ! $27 got us a burnt crust and raw mushroom pizza This meal made me feel really nauseous and I mentioned this to the waitress who did offer to get me another pizza , however I felt so nauseous I couldn’t eat now. The staff instantly changed their behaviours with us dirty looks , blanking us when we asked for the bill and behaving like brats knocking into my chair as they passed it made us just want to leave as it felt very tense and uncomfortable. We felt as they were not going to be getting their tip this is why their behaviour changed towards us it was awful and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. The food is over priced , rubbish and the staff are rude and self entitled AVOID THIS PLACE !

The name makes for a feeling of friendliness, this a LIE . I never leave reviews.... don't expect any kind of service.... I have better service at bodega at 4am on a Saturday morning. Don't think you will a correct bill, and if you question it you will be chastised and be treated as if your a crook. When they do correct the check make sure you pay in cash because they will overcharge the card after you leave . After I refuse to pay tip for lies and harassment. I was chased down and humiliated like and animal by the animal of a GM . I really wish I could leave minus stars..... what utter garbage.....

I had a short window to meet a friend for lunch after arriving to NYC in Penn Station. L'Amico is less than a 10 minute walk from the station, and had both brunch and lunch selections when we were there on a Saturday. I had the Cotechino Hash & Poached Eggs with sauteed kale and hollandaise, which was similar to eggs benedict, with the hash substituting for english muffins. It was excellent. Service was nice and I liked the decor. It was busy on a Saturday lunch time, but we had made a reservation. I would definitely return. This is part of the Kimpton Hotel I believe.

Turned up around 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation. Was told they could fit me in but wanted long pants for dinner. Explained I was staying at the Eventi (i.e. The hotel L'Amico is part of and it was not a problem, sat outside anyway. Not really sure what the fuss was about, but they got over it. Food was stunning and for fine dining on 6th Ave not expensive. Service at table was exceptional

Great place for brunch. Love the decor and the overall feel of the establishment. Had a small wait for a table. Once seated the waiter was attentive and provided good service. Some good cocktails to choose from as well as menu items. Be sure to order the bread with honey and dried cherries.....oh, so good! I could have just eaten that all day! Ordered the breakfast pie which is a pizza with breakfast toppings including an egg. Very tasty. Cooked in the wood brick over it arrived a big charred but still flavorful. My husband got the wood oven baked eggs which came out different than he expected but he liked it just the same.

Our party had zucchini pizza, sweet sausage pizza, truffle pizza, grilled scallops entree and a salmon and avocado salad. All of these were prepared very well. The pizza crusts were thin and crisp. The bill, with tip, was over $200 for 5 people for lunch however - seems a little expensive, even for New York!

The food was excellent. the wine was good. the service was great. the place is busy so better to book. a bit expensive, but the food takes care of it...

Check was $166.58, I added a $33.42 gratuity to round up to a $200 total. I checked my credit card statement at home in the UK and was charged $366.58, a $200 gratuity!! Maybe this was a mistake but the restaurant won’t respond to my email sent 2 days ago at info@lamico.nyc Such a fail (as food and table service were good), that I now have to contact my credit card provider to resolve this!! Check your credit card statement after visiting!

I would also rate it highly for dinner but you can't get in the door after 5pm. It has a seasonal menu, fresh food, and everything is well prepared. The service is also very good. Downside is that it gets mobbed, noisy, and crowded. That is a testament as to the quality. A great spot for one of their special pizzas late at night. Reasonable prices on a wide wine selection

It has been a while since going back to L’Amico restaurant in NYC, well I wish I did not wait so long as it was really good. The place is wonderful, the service too and I love the food, we started with Eggplant Caponata Bruschetta which was amazing, really fabulous and then the Prosciutto San Daniele with roasted pear, Gorgonzola cheese, endive and walnuts, also very tasty. Then we had a couple of pasta dishes, the Pipe Rigate with veal shoulder bolognese sauce and the Zucca pasta which I have never heard in Italian as Zucca means butternut squash, I thought it was funny as the name would be butternut squash butternut squash 🤣 anyway no matter what it was called it was absolutely delicious, I will be back again soon, loved it 😍

Yellowtail tuna, meatballs, octopus & proscutio for starters and sopressata Vicente pizza, sea bass, steak & chicken for mains all very tasty and prompt, friendly service throughout. Starters $14-$20 and mains $20 to $35. A strong recommendation !

We had a great night with family. Food was great, cocktails and wine terrific. The main highlight was the service. The restaurant manager Mark was beyond accommodating and eager to please. So professional. Lindsay our server was another level of great service. Friendly, accommodating and helped make our meal great. Good job and great food.

Wonderful Italian cuisine and attentive staff. Good location. Helpful with wine and entree selections. Ensured a special birthday celebration.

We thought this much, much better than some of the other reviews suggest. The veal meatballs were soft, full of flavour possibly some of the best we've tasted in NY. The other stand out dish was the octopus simple elegant presentation and tasted just about perfect. Bookings required for an early Sunday evening dinner so it looks like plenty of other people share our view.

Our family was staying at the Kimpton Eventi and we enjoyed dinner at The Vine NYC. The service, food and dessert were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed by our entire party.

Walked in off the street as the place looked lovely and was full of people. Got a table no problem. Not an extensive menu but we opted for spaghetti and pizzas. All tasted lovely. Spaghetti was meat free, bursting with flavour. Pizzas thin, crispy- a little too well done in places (burnt). Nice ambiance however a street brawl outside for approx 5 -10 minutes was a distraction for all the diners and staff alike! This place wasn’t cheap but the food was tasty. We had garlic bread for starters, four pizzas and spaghetti- no alcohol and no desserts $150 plus tip.

Went for a drink at the back bar. I asked for a Gibson with extra onions. They brought me three onions, which is normal for a Gibson. Decided to get a second drink, this time they brought me one cocktail onion. I approached the bartender and asked him for two onions, that I only got one. I was told that if I wanted extra, he would charge me. The drink was $18 and half the size of your usual martini. I asked to speak to the manager, Asked the manager about the xtra charge and was told in a very condescending tone and attitude, “he will give me one extra onion, and I will be happy with the one extra onion”. Quite frankly I don’t think I have ever experienced such arrogance from a restaurant employee. What a disappointment that experience was.

If you are looking for a great restaurant to grab dinner before a show at Madison Sq Garden, L'Amico is the place. A short 7 min walk from Penn Station. The food, atmosphere and service was spot on. For a Monday night, the dining room was packed and the patio was open which contributed to a wonderful atmosphere with the doors open to the busy street. We ordered the Cavolo Nero Salad which I highly recommend, 2 of the nightly specials(a homemade pasta & specialty pie) along with a perfectly chilled bottle of wine. Everything was delicious but the real star of the evening was the service. I love a restaurant that truly provides great service. Our server was wonderful but it was the floor manager who saw me looking for our server to order wine and he rushed right over to assist and even suggested the perfect bottle. We had a great meal all within an hour and made it to our concert in plenty of time.

I rarely leave a 3 but this meal was way over priced. I couldn't actually falter the food, it was very tasty but paying $140 dollars with tip is a lot for Pizza and pasta. We weren't brought our side dish that we asked for, the 3 x tiny arrancini balls were as expensive as the octopus which is crazy. The drink prices were through the roof. All places we drank over the 4 night stay didn't have prices anywhere near as high as this, the beer menu was extensive to be fair but nothing reasonably priced.

Really wonderful dinner for a birthday/Halloween celebration! Grr eat appetizer, fresh fish dinner, and dessert. We got lucky with the weather and sat comfortably in their open air dining room for added ambience. Beautiful evening in the heart of NYC!

Loved everything about this restaurant. Situated in a very central midtown location in the Eventi Hotel. Very hip and modern. Excellent service coupled with excellent food. Everything we ate was delicious! Brussels Sprouts salad, charred cauliflower, buratta and the linguine with clams. Can’t pick a favorite. Service was very attentive by both our waiter and what I believe to be a manger. Loved watching the hustle in the open kitchen. Enjoyed this restaurant very much and want to go back!

Excellent location in the Kimpton Eventi Hotel, close to Penn Station. We reserved a table for Sunday brunch and were seated right away. It's a busy room and the tables are close to each other but in summer the walls open up for extra outdoor patio seating. We loved the open kitchen concept and enjoyed seeing the chefs and servers do their work. Our server, Al, was very personable and friendly and did not rush us at all. We ordered Our Bread, which was a wonderful sweet treat that was sliced and ready for us to spread the whipped ricotta on as much as we liked. Highly recommended and enough to share for 2-3 people. My soft scrambled eggs were creamy and melted in my mouth, accompanying salad was excellent, the whole grain crostino was toasted just right. The omelette souffle was also very light and airy. A huge portion with a fresh salad drizzled with a lemon-garlic olive oil made for a very filling entree. The eggs "al forno" were served in a hot iron skillet. The eggs sunny side up over sausage, broccoli rabe, and sprinkled with chiles. Another sizeable portion! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and seasoned just right. It's always appreciated when hot entrees arrive hot! We had difficulty deciding what to order but looking around the room at other patrons choices made everything look inviting! This is a busy restaurant and the quality of the fresh ingredients and inspired seasonings makes it a top choice! Reservations are definitely recommended.

This restaurant was in the Kimpton hotel we stayed at. We grabbed lunch upon arrival due to closeness to our hotel. We were so delighted that we went back again for dinner and lunch before our departure. I even purchased a gift card from Open Table for a friend in the city that treated us to a night out.

Tasty food, but the service is rude and rude! I would not return, nor indicate to anyone. There are many options to improve in NYC

I'm not usually a fan of hotel restaurants. But this is really a stand-alone restaurant that happens to have a lobby attachment to the Kimpton. It is great. We grazed on the veal meatballs, the octopus, the baked cauliflower and the yellowtail. Quite delicious. Nice portions, nice service.

My wife and I visited this restaurant recently for dinner whilst visiting New York. We were staying quite nearby, and were struggling to find a place we fancied so plumped for here as you can't really go wrong with Italian food. We had one pasta dish, and a pizza, plus a bottle of red wine. The bill came to $126, which with a tip took it up to $146, crazy for what we ate. The food was very tasty, but if we'd had something similar at home it would have cost around £60 including a tip, equivalent to about $73, roughly half what we paid. This restaurant is so overpriced, particualrly for drinks, which I noted from previous reviews regarding the bear prices. Whilst it was convenient for us, it's location is at a busy set of traffic lights where there was constant noise from police cars and passing traffic. I definately wouldn't revisit this restaurant again

Go another place!!! The restaurant push way too many people, so they can’t serve the one that order Table. Food is okey, but not worth the price. Guess its popular cause of its location. Will also suggest the management to change way of service. Now its like one man serve water, one wine, one food…not very effectiv.

Trendy restaurant, always full every time we passed, which decided to test it. But we were disappointed by the dishes. A plate of 6 very thin ravioli for 32 dollars, a pizza served in an aluminum dish on a sheet of parchment paper that breaks down over the course of the meal. Maisble service was fast and pleasant Eating on the terrace in New York can be fun if you like traffic noise 2 meters away

As we were staying at the Kimpton Event and this restaurant is part of it, we chose to eat here on New Years eve 2019. We loved every single thing about it. The food was delightful, the atmosphere superb and the service impeccable. Sadly, I was not able to enjoy myself as much as i would have liked, only because my health was causing me trouble ( I am not a well man) so I drank only water. But we have already decided to return to the Eventi again and when we do, we will eat here. Well done!

I had to grab a quick pre theater dinner. The bartenders were great. I had a delicious margarita on the rocks to wash down The prosciutto San Daniele follower by the uner delicious veal and mortadella meatballs in a piquant tomatoe sauce. Delightful experience...

We had a business dinner there for 18 Pax. we had to wait 30 minutes for our table. But when that problem got fixed the evening was simply great. Staff, service, dishes and wine was very good. Good portions. No matter if appetizers or dessert. Don’t order too much.

We stayed at the Kimpton Eventi this week and ate twice at L'Amico. The food was excellent and the Italian wine list is extensive. One of the best pizzas in town and the pasta dishes were amazing. Highly recommended!

I tend to avoid hotel restaurants but L'Amico is amazing. We always look forward to our meals at L'Amico. I recommend the grilled octopus or Tuscan salad to begin followed by sharing a mushroom pizza and any of the pastas. Both the chocolate tart and gelato are great options to finish.

Our visit started badly. We were only two on an early booking (noon). On arrival, the two staff did not have any words of welcome. They just took the name and then immediately laid down the law: The other person wasn't there so I could not be seated. That's the policy. I get that restaurants have this policy that all members of a party must be present to be seated at table for a reason - they don't want to waste seats if folks don't show up. But when the party is only two people and the person who has arrived asks to be seated and the restaurant is not full, then for heaven's sake, just let the person sit at the table. It's a no brainer. Anyway, I had to argue my way to the table, which immediately put me in a negative frame of mind and predisposed to dislike the place, eat there once and never return. But I did get seated and my friend appeared fairly soon. After that poor start, the restaurant lived up to the high expectations we had - why we went there for lunch in the first place. The manager on duty came by to smooth our ruffled feathers and made amends by offering a very tasty amuse-bouche and a side of cauliflower on the house. That was very decent of him. The real star of the meal was our server Luis - his first words to me were a welcome greeting - that was how to do good service. He was very pleasant, very understanding, very patient, very informative and throughout the lunch provided excellent service. Indeed, the service at the restaurant, while not precise (i.e. the level of a formal dining place), was very good, attentive and efficient. Our water glasses were always filled - the true litmus test of the degree of attention you are getting. As for the food, the gazpacho special was good but not remarkable - the bread stick with cheese, peppers and tomatoes was a bit large for eating and dipping. It did not really succeed as a combination. The salmon and avocado with Kale mache was excellent, but I only had a sample. My friend liked it a lot. The white mushroom pie was excellent. The pie was slightly more tough to cut into with the table knife (maybe supply a sharper knife or offer to slice the pie?) and there was a sheet of waxen paper underneath that was getting sliced to shred as I worked through the pie. This made me worry if somehow I might be putting paper into my mouth. At one point, I just decided to put niceties aside and just used my hands to break apart the pie and eat it. Very tasty, but I think the restaurant should help their customers out a bit here. We shared a dessert: two scoops of gelato/sorbet...one lemon ricotta, the other cherry amaretto.... excellent, though I would use a wider bowl so that the customer need not rush to prevent melting ice cream from flowing over the cup. Also, the gaufrette was rather large...a bit outsized...and the sprinkling of icing sugar did not really sit well with us. Using icing sugar seems to go against the grain of the ethos of L'Amico, the use of fresh ingredients and artisanal cooking. So in the end, all was well that ended well. And we left happy and pleased - thanks really to the very good food but most of all to the professional and friendly service by Luis and the manager's deft efforts to make up for the by-the-book bureaucratic "welcome" at the door.

We decided to eat here as it was always full when we walked back to hotel. Was lovely food. I had the chicken and waiters were very busy but still attentive. There was a slight mix up in the kitchen with bringing one of my sides. The waiter could not apologise enough. Was not a big deal but they gave it to me free. I never ate it as was too late. The manager then come to apologise personally. So went extra mile and was the Mrs favourite meal in NYC

The food is just adequate, portion size meagre, waiter took our order and was not seen again. We had a long wait for our entrees. However, the check made it to our table in an nanosecond after requesting and needless to say it was extremely expensive. $18 for 2 cups of arugula salad with a couple of relatively nonexistent cheese cubes. I would not recommend this place.

This restaurant offers up the absolute best cheese cake I ever had - served with figs. It is pricey however and I did not appreciate that the main course order did not come with a side dish but was simply a fish swimming in sauce. The waiter also did not tell us side dishes had to be ordered separately so I left this restaurant still partly hungry after a bill of over 100 for two.

I would give a zero if I could. My daughter’s pizza was totally burnt on the bottom which meant she could not eat any of the crust. After trying to address the issue eventually a man in a suit appeared and refused to not charge me or offer a discount. Absolute no customer service or apology for the poor quality of the food and service. I would avoid this overpriced restaurant who clearly have no interest in their customers.

Met to business associates for an early dinner . The restaurant filled up quickly . All appetizers, entrees and desserts were very delicious. Service outstanding . Truly a great place near Penn Station .

Whilst on holiday in New York we popped into here to have a light lunch as well as a rest from walking. The ambience was welcoming. Decor modern, sleek and inviting. Food options ample from lighter bites to more hearty food options.

Excellent side of roasted cauliflower. Octopus was extremely tasty Pizza was very good Side street of meatballs and sauce very tasty

Excellent restaurant in midtown, with good menu, nice atmosphere, very good service. Excellent attentive wait staff. Enjoyed the smashed avo n pea, with generous crab topping bruschetta (must try). Yellowfin carpaccio tasty. Good pepper crusted steak, and very nice pasta. Option to add 1, 2 or 3 meatballs a nice touch. Sides good, try the corn with pecorino. Wine list very extensive with knowledgeable sommelier, however prices somewhat high. Definitely one of the better restaurants in that area.

Located in the lobby of the Eventi Hotel on 6th ave L'Amico is a lively Italian restaurant with good food. The kitchen is open and visible from the entire restaurant with a wood fire pizza oven turning out delicious pizza. The menu varies by season and I have never had a bad dish. The atmosphere and decor are nicely done but it does get rather busy during peak lunch and dinner hours. The outdoor seating is an added bonus if the weather is nice.

We ordered the Truffle pizza and the pasta with meat sauce. Pasta dish was amazing! Really great flavor, served hot and a decent portion size. The pizza was a huge disappointment. No truffle flavor at all. Lots of mushrooms, but no truffle, not even a smidge. Pizzas are thin crust, well done. Black cherry gelato was awesome. Salted caramel was lousy. Lively atmosphere. Good service. Perfect before show at MSG. We would go back....

I was on holidays in NYC with 2 friends and we were to find an upper-class restaurant with nice cosmopolitan environment where we could book a table and taste delicious food. L'Amico checked all. The dinning room staff was very polite and really knew how to work for this kind of restaurant. The food was delicious: from the appetizers to dessert everything was great and we could even get an european expresso coffee that we so much missed on the end of a satisfying meal. Even the bathroom had the interior design on spot with the rest of the restaurant. The restaurant also has a bar which looks amazing too although we didn't try out. Will remember very well this dinning place and hope to comeback there in a 2nd visit to the town.

We dined here tonight, and while not disappointed, we were not amazed either. The food is good, not great. The tomato watermelon salad was excellent and presented in a very artistic manner. The Pipe Rigate (bolognese sauce over pasta) was good but would have been better over spaghetti. The pasta it was served with was thick and chewy, so probably it was overcooked. The Seabass got the following comments, "very good" and "I'd eat it again". All three dishes were over priced as was sparkling water at $10. The restaurant is quite loud with tables spaced closely together. Service was also very good despite the server initially telling us the salad was unavailable. We will likely find ourselves back at the Kimpton frequently so we might find ourselves back in this restaurant, but it will be due to proximity to the hotel, not because of great food.

Very disappointing, a burnt pizza for $24,00 The presentation from the personal in advance promised a lot.

One of the best restaurants in NYC! I have been many times--always get the pizza and pasta. The pizza we shared (a special that night) was outstanding, with ricotta, sausage and broccoli rabe. Pasta special was papardelle with short rib and smoked ricotta, also amazing. The food is not light, but it is some of the best, fresh and perfectly prepared Italian food in town, in a beautiful space with a great wine list and absolutely top notch service, from hostesses to wait staff, sommelier and very attentive (but not overly) maitre d. It is very rare to find all of this at a relatively reasonable price in New York.Highly recommended and will return as often as I can. If you are going to a show at The Garden and want dinner before or after, you cannot go wrong here.

We came here for Sunday brunch. We made reservations in advance and got there when the restaurant opened, and they were able to find us seats in a quiet corner. The waiter recommended a brunch special of squash polenta, which was excellent. The cappuccino was also unusually good. Service was very good, and our water glasses were refilled promptly. This restaurant is very close to Penn Station, and there is an attached hotel, so we were able to sit in the comfortable lounge until it was time to leave to catch our train.

My wife and I had a great dinner. The fried cauliflower is a nice side dish; the steak is good; great wood fired pizza. Servers were very attentive. Absolutely no complaints.

Top draw service along with great food . Reasonably priced in a cracking atmosphere with a realistic price to match

My family of 5 arrived about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed on a Thursday night after a Broadway show. The staff seemed rushed, but accommodated us without issue. I was unfamiliar with the wines by the glass and our waiter was very patient in explaining things to me. We had pastas and shared the burrata and the prosciutto appetizer. All very nice. Lively atmosphere without being chaotic. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We ate at L'Amico two nights in a row - one was just not enough to enjoy the great selection for dishes. Octopus, tuna, roasted chicken, and the the dessert - the Sorrento frozen dessert is a great choice over the usual if tasty gelato. Will go back there again and again.

OK, dinner in New York is not cheap and L’Amico isn’t either. 3 glasses of wine, 2 small pizza’s, a salad, a soda and some coffees are over US$ 200. But the food and the wine was good. More important you are feeling welcome which isn’t the case in most New York restaurants. So bottom line: good food for a reasonable price and true attention from the waiter.

we didnt know where to have dinner and went here and we were surprise of how good this is. Everything from the service to the wine to the appetizers, entrees, everything was great. it has a great ambience and is a little bit pricey but its worth it.

We stumbled upon this cafe, on a Saturday, and are so happy we did. We did not have reservations and so were offered a communal table or bar seats. We sat at the bar to eat and had a wonderful time watching the barista and servers and interacting a bit with others at the bar. Those who were at tables can also see the lively open kitchen. Lovely food, outstanding coffee and great service. We will definitely return. Through the kimpton hotel lobby, one can also access another entirely different restaurant, which was also hopping.

Was just there a few nights ago, and I can't even remember if my party of 5 ordered any appetizers. If so, nothing outstanding. I do remember what I had for an entrée - the scallops. They were delicious - just all the other stuff wasn't. Try some other place.

I really love this restaurant as have stayed at the hotel a few times. The food is amazing each time. The pasta is all fresh and handmade and the pizza is made in their own pizza oven. Desserts are sublime and not to be missed. If you like Italian food, this place is a must visit!

Everything we ate was delicious, perfect serving sizes. Definitely not a touristy feel to the restaurant. We sat inside, but the front walls were completely open to the patio, great atmosphere!

The vibe is great but the portions are generally small. I always want this restaurant to be great and it always disappoints. If you are looking for a cocktail only, this might be a good choice. The tuna crudo is really tuna tataki and the pizza was one of the worst I've ever had....that says a lot because its very hard to find bad pizza in NYC. The pizza was actually "wet" and soggy from not drying out the mushrooms. There were also onions on the pizza, which were not indicated on the menu. Not a great idea to include ingredients that were not disclosed on the menu. The couple next to me got the same pizza and had the same thoughts. It was horrible. I've eaten here many times and have never had a great experience, but this time, I won't be back.

We dined here on a Saturday evening. We did not have reservations. The atmosphere was great. Lots of windows; on a busy corner. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgable and attentive (can't remember his name; but he is a native of Knoxville TN). I cannot remember the specific entrees that we had. Our mixed drinks were fantastic.. We shared the Chocolate Torta Della Nonna. We were seated close to where the desserts were being assembled/finished and they are beautiful! I highly recommend!

We broke a rule of many travelers and decided to eat at this hotel restaurant as we were tired after a busy day. From the start the service was terrible. Our waitress took a long time to even acknowledge us, let alone take our order, in spite of many empty tables. She was unfriendly, inattentive, and very slow. I started with a salad that was supposed to be topped with kale chips, but it was topped with literally inedible rubbery shards of kale. My pasta topped with pesto was OK, but outrageously priced for the portion and quality. My companions had similarly meh meals. We asked about an intriguing sounding menu item, corn flavored gelato. She said "I hear it's not good." I guess points for honestly, but I was very surprised to hear her put it that way. She could have said "it's not for everyone," or something more diplomatic. But that lack of professionalism and concern for any aspect of her job was typical of our experience over the course of this very expensive meal. New York is PACKED with vastly better Italian restaurants. Give this place a pass.

The food at L’amico was not bad at all, but that is the only good thing I have to say about this restaurant. My wife and I made a reservation for 21:30. At 21:35 our waitress informed us that the kitchen is closing, so if we want to order any food we have to do it now. Why on earth would You have people make reservations for an hour you plan to close the kitchen at? The second I finished ordering the food, our waitress went off even though we planned to order wine as well. ten minutes after we got our food, the waitress came back and asked if we wanted any dessert - while we were still eating the main course. After we said we weren't interested, she took one of the dishes we ordered even though there was still food on the plate we were planning on eating. The second we were done the waitress brought ass the check before we asked for it. All and all - 25 minutes in and out.

We were staying at the Kimpton and stopped in for a late dinner Our waitress was extremely accommodating. Food was delicious and service fast.

We were recommended to eat here by a friend. And it looked good. The food is excellent if a little overpriced. But the service isn’t great. It was packed and very very noisy. We were made to wait for our table with no explanation. The server was not great. Like really not great. So we paid the bill and rounded it up leaving a tip but not a generous one. The server came back over to the table at warp speed and approached our son, not us telling him we hadn’t left him enough of a tip. He was bare faced about it. We explained the rationale behind what he had left and he demanded another twenty dollars. Standing there in a restaurant in front of people demanding a tip when your service has been below average. Really? Intimidating doesn’t come into it. Shocking and arrogant. There’s lots of lovely places to eat in New York where you probably won’t get bullied. This is one to avoid

Italian restaurant that don’t even know what a white pizza or a focaccia is, we asked for a simple white focaccia and they told us that they didn’t know how to make it and they didn’t even know how much to put in it! after 10 minutes we entered they told us if we wanted to order other things because they had to close (when they let us in they didn’t tell us that they would close soon) and then they forced us to eat fast! after another 5 minutes they brought us the bill without us asking just to send us away! all the meals were inedible, they sell pasta and don't even know how to cook it! you must know how to cook before pretending to be Italian restaurant! ps. of Italian in the restaurant not even one person! I ordered a beer if I even forgot I had to ask for it twice more. The waiter thought more about setting the table for breakfast the next day instead of bringing a customer what he ordered! stay away from this place, catering has nothing, the only compliment is for the place that is very nice! for the sake of Italy do not do catering that is not for you!

Food arrived in stages for our party - they brought the simple pasta for our daughter last. We had to chase them to get cutlery to eat. One dish had to be returned as it was highly disappointing - it was supposed to be a sausage pasta, but had virtually no meat in it. Asked for it to be replaced with same veal pasta dish my wife was enjoying and which was delicious. The replacement was a pale imitation of hers and only arrived long after my wife and daughter had finished. In the meantime had to fight off service from removing our half eaten side dish - which wasn’t great but given the kids pasta was twice the size of the adult pasta dishes it was required. Then had to ask for the bill three times. A more dishonest person could of walked out without paying we were so abandoned, which I kind of wish I had given they charged me half the price of the returned pasta dish and full price for the replacement! Left with the feeling they don’t want small children to eat there. If so just say up front instead of subjecting families to this charade.

Restaurant with Nice atmosphere and great service. We ate a lovely and very delicious pizza! If you want a glass of wine, they first let you taste it! Great!

Very often you are purposeful in selecting a restaurant to visit, but on occasion you stumble across a pleasant surprise. L’Amico happened to be just that, while on a recent visit to NYC. Being summer, the open Al fresco / indoor seating arrangement had a very inviting feel when I was walking by, and I sauntered in. This place is a great blend of causal but fine American-Italian cuisine. Ushered by a very friendly and attentive maitre d the day of my visit, I sat outside soaking in the frenetic pace of 6th Ave (Ave of the Americas). Shanique who served my table was very gregarious, and had great suggestions. I settled for a late brunch and had the Cotechino hash with poached eggs, which comes with a copious serving of baby kale and a very flavorful San Marzano hollandaise sauce. The portion was perfect and complemented by some wheat toast, it made for a very sumptuous meal. Being one of two restaurants connected to the swanky Eventi Hotel, one has the option to drop into the luxurious surroundings next door featuring a high end cocktail bar with vibrant decor. I could not have been more pleased with my experience, especially since I came with no expectations, but left with a very high one.

Very good customer service, the staff paid attention the hole time even though the restaurant was full during the visit. We had pizzas and gelato, it was very good. Also, the location is really pretty.

So I am a foodie and my wife would always tell me about this place. She would always bring home left over pizza which was yummy. Finally went and wanted pasta, unfortunately ( or fortunately) I went when they were serving mostly brunch. I wanted the fusilli which they could not serve for brunch and instead had the ricotta pancake with plum, cherries, and lemon curd. Amazing, best pancake I ever had. We had to have some Italian food so we ordered the Burrato appetizer which was delicious and my wife had the pizza. Loved it . Must come again

Took my wife here for a birthday lunch. You have to get there before the kitchen closes at 2:30 for the dinner change over - but, you don't want to miss a minute of this experience. The food was excellent and the service attentive. The chef gave us a dessert they were tasting, a beautiful Pavl8va with plum and cherries and s anglaise middle, garnished with gold leaf and mint. Outstanding! Hope it makes the menu. The drinks were present and refreshing. Great time dining Al fresco.

I stopped by L'Amico for a solo dinner mid-week while in NY. I didn't have a reservation but the hostess offered to seat me at a table that had a later reservation (checking to make sure a quick dinner would work for me) but I found an open spot at the bar instead. The bartenders were quick to refill my water every few minutes, quick with wine, and offered some great suggestions when I asked. I had the yellowtail appetizer as well as the cauliflower side dish. It was the perfect combo, with a lemon oil on the fish for a bright finish, and the cauliflower was salty and delish. I'll go back next time I'm in town!

Dinner for two at this place and whilst my dish was exquisite my wifes dish was....not (pasta of the day). Staff was a wee bit unorganised and from what we saw some waiters were not so happy with the headwaiter. Indoor and outdoor seating so it has a lot going for it!

Private dining. Wonderful food and wine served with style. We had a private room and it was most memorable. I had bronzoni and it was the best I have ever had.

Definitely has the potential for 5 stars. The food and atmosphere were great - we really felt like we were having a New York ladies-who-lunch experience. Only thing that let it down was the service. We we’re staying nearby and had identified we’d like to eat the there but we’re given incorrect info about opening times by a guy working there (and also by Google) and turned up twice to find it closed. When we did get a table we enjoyed our food but the waiter put the food down on the wrong person’s place and tried to argue that we’d got it wrong (I ordered salad, my son a pizza but the waiter insisted it was the other way round and we were wrong). Easily rectified but bizarre server behaviour. Vegan cheese was forgotten but they graciously made another and gave us the non vegan one for free. Overall a very positive experience though and we would return.

Very nice atmosphere and the food and wine was good too. We had a great time with friends. Staff was nice and attentive. Not too loud so we were able to communicate which is always nice.

l'Amico is a trendy place in Chelsea area that people often enjoy long lunches or dinner at. It is good for groups or business dinners with a team. The pizzas are great, the crudo is fresh, and the meatballs are very tasty. I have been here a few times and services is always good. However, the last time I was here, I got a chicken dish with broccoli-rob that was too bitter to even eat. The pizza was also a little too burnt and the meatballs were charred as well. I think this may have just been an off night in the kitchen, but still a little disappointing. For the price that you pay for the food and drinks.

the restaurant has really nice cabana set-up makes you feel you're in the Caribbean; food and service is very good; reservations are encouraged especially if you want to sit in the cabana's; be careful when going from the outdoor seating to the bathroom - watch out for the bike riders

The food is fine, but too expensive. The decor is nice. The service was very good. As always try to avoid restaurants in hotels.

I was here with some coworkers, and going for an early dinner, I ordered the 8 Herb Raviolini which sounded good, especially for a vegetarian. At a whopping $32, it tasted amazing, and despite the heavy filling, I was left wanting more after I wiped the plate. I feel they could add more in terms of portion size, especially since it was delicious.

Great open sidewalk dining on a busy street. Great for people watching. The White Mushroom pizza was delicious and the cocktails are refreshing. Highly recommended.

Me and my friends (Flora and Laura) really like the food but they didn’t answer me when I said goodbye ...

The food is very good , and the service welcoming. Meatball and octopus apps with pasta bolongese and scallop entree. Delisioso! The space is part of a lobby/entrance to a hotel . Our only issue was the tight and somewhat uncomfortable seating in the dining area. With apps priced at $20 and entrees at $32 plus and an extensive and pricy wine list . The room was not well thought out. That being said the food is quality and we will return.

Our experience was exceptional from start to finish. The service is top-notch, but the food is simply outstanding and presented with flair and attention. Every single thing we ate was perfect. We even came back a second time during our vacation because we wanted more of that crab & avocado crostini! Brunch is unforgettable. Chef Emilie runs a tight ship and serves up an exquisite and memorable experience.

We enjoyed experience here. Good ambiance, service and the food was exceptional. We all had very different dishes and they were all well done.

We ate here twice since we stayed at the Eventi. The food was very good, esp the pizza and the French toast. Service was good. But their espresso machine was not working for days.

Great service, conveniently located, clean, nicely decorated, stopped by for breakfast after walking by multiple times... great options on the menu, nicely presented. Will come back.

I am glad I had made a reservation for this Sunday brunch as it was packed when I arrived at noon. I really enjoyed pizza though most guests seem to enjoy the standard brunch dishes. The prices are not cheap, but well worth it if you want a nice atmosphere with great food.

Good restaurant. Not what I expected to be honest. The greeter was aceptable, the table service was ok, the food was very good. Only the kitchen delivered, the rest was just ok. Reasonable prices. We didn’t have a bad experience, or were mistreated. But we were not wowed either. Just ok.

Food and service were very good. We started with Pizza which was very good. The pastas and entrees were good, not the portions were very small. No bread for the table. Deserts were also very good. Extensive wine list, very pricey.

Excellent, we were there for the Fall menu change, yes they change menu with every season. The service was also very good. I would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic atmosphere in a uniquely un-touristy part of NYC. LOVED the look, feel, music, atmosphere. Adored the pasta - truly sublime. But the salad - not so much! Lackluster, lacking flavor, didn't even look that appetizing. Service was good (not great). Worth every penny, though. I'd go again and sit outside next time. FYI: Terrifically LONG walk to the Ladies Room. Literally you need to walk thru the restaurant then through the lobby of the Kimpton Hotel next door. Wierd!

OK, it was a pleasant day and the room was open to the outside. The three of us ordered one dishes and a pizza. The pasta dish had 7 small pieces and a fried egg. The small pizza was burnt black around the eggs. The waitress assured us that was "normal". The price with tip was over $90. I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and Washington. How this restaurant received so many positive reviews is a puzzle to me.... unless they paid a commercial blogger to do it.

We’ve been staying in the Kimpton Hotel which is in the same building. This is an Italien restaurant with a stylish interior. Two wood fired pizza ovens. The food was delicious. We had skirt steak which was on point and a pizza that was the best pizza we had in the US so far.

the restaurant is well located on the 6th street inside a hotel. The room is well lit and well distributed with pleasant furniture for this type of establishment. The welcome is elegant, the service correct and pleasant. The menu is well balanced, simple but sufficient for lunch. The dishes are tasty and generous. Good value for money for New York.

Great drinks. A nice place to relax. Relaxing atmosphere. Casual dining. Good food and friendly staff.

It was raining so they closed their patio, but nobody told us. We made a reservation well in advance supplying all of our contact information. It was probably raining for over an hour by the time we arrived for our reservation, so they must have closed their patio way before...SO WHY NOT LET US KNOW. We got the insincere BS when we got to the host: "Hi, so I see you were dining outside, unfortunately we don't have a table for you". How nice were they to wait for us to arrive in-person to tell us. THANK YOU! You do realize that it rains a lot in NY, so have a system in place next time so you don't F your customers!

It was good, but I've had better. We ordered the special surf and turf, and the lobster was actually rather small and the steak was charred on the outside but raw on the inside. Never challenge a Texan on how to cook a steak, just saying. The marbled potatoes and brussels sprouts were delicious. We did however send the COFFEE back because it was awful. Seriously, the coffee. The desserts were fantastic! Service was really good, and the ambience is lovely.

This restaurant had some high reviews and others seem to be more on point. I used my American Express Concierge for reservations and although they recommended other places, I decided to try it anyway. I was disappointed. We arrived at 5:15 and the waitress seemed very good. She asked us what time we needed to be out for an event at MSG. She knew we had to be there at 7pm, yet at 6pm, we still didn't even get our appetizers. We ordered a "pie" that arrived at 6:05. It was very good, but it was personal size. We could each have one piece because it was small. Our main course arrived 20 minutes later. My husband and dad got the Bronzini. It was the smallest fish I had ever seen and served with only a few beans. The portion was so small, they were still hungry. They did not serve any bread at the table. My pasta dish with a veal sauce was good, but - small portion. This was just a bit larger than a tapas restaurant plate. One glass(actually half glass)of inexpensive white wine cost $21. Bronzini was $32. Personal size pizza was $23. Although we arrived at 5:15, we didn't have enough time to have coffee or dessert, we left at 7:10 pm. Food quality was decent, but portions were ridiculous as were the prices. I don't mind paying for good food, but I should not leave hungry. Also, our waitress barely checked on us once they got a bit more busy. The picture on this website is the Bronzini. The fish served to us was so small that it fit in the plate with room to spare on each end.

We stayed at the connected hotel and were delighted with the restaurant on site. The pizza was brilliant and we also enjoyed a fish dish here. The service was also fantastic. Not your typcial central New York American style volume and junk style joint, so I guess didn't meet the expectations of some of the poorer (and rather bizarre) reviews. Food is the highlight of any trip this group make and we will 100% return when next in New York.

Even though it's in a great location with an opportunity to dine outside on a nice evening, several things dampened our night out there. It was a very warm day and my son and I were looking forward to having a cold beer with our dinner. When we observed the beer prices, we quickly dismissed that idea. I know this is NYC, but the prices ranged from $15 on up to $300 for 1 beer! You must be kidding me. My pasta dish was $27 for a minuscule portion with NO bread. Chalk it up to us being tourists. 1st time, last time.

Very attentive server, gave good advice and thoughts. The food was kinda American-Italian more than Italian. Good pasta and a great atmosphere.

The six of us had a (small) family dinner there. The deco and setting are great, as well as the food and service, creating a nice vibe. They have an open kitchen where you can see your pizza being prepped live. We had a mix of pizza, ravioli and steak and everything tasted great. Service was nice, not too pushy, just what was required. Being from Europe, the only thing which I personally did not get at all is the way they serve the (very tasty) pizza : on a (metal ?) plate that is smaller than the pizza itself and they also put some paper under the pizza… result : difficult to cut, making the experience needlessly frustrating. Other than that, we can only recommend.

Small menu but great food. We sat by the kitchen and ordered what we saw, the menu didn’t do the food justice. I suggest doing the same. We spilt chicken and kale salad, delicious and plenty. One mistake, wife ordered a Beer which was $12 -wow!

Hostess was unwelcoming & snobby claiming they had no room for one while I was gazing at 6 empty tables at 1 pm on Thursday 15th (with no one in front of me). When I said the front desk referred me there since I was a guest..this nasty one said she might be able to seat me in an hour! Discovered when I checked in later that the hotel had 2 guests contract Legionaires disease in late October. Maybe building water not safe. Why put up with bullsh..

We spent our anniversary night here, what a meal, the lemon and cucumber pizza was stunning, great taste, fantastic wine.
Exquisite pasta
We started with the appetizers. My wife had the eggplant while I had the yellow tail crudo. Both were mouth watering. For mains the pasta with a ragout and the veal and prosciutto stuffed paste. The wait staff were attentive to every need and the manager, Samantha, was everywhere making sure all the diners were attended to. The desert was tiramisu and home made ice cream. Can't miss in this place.
