Really lovely neighbourhood restaurant. Great food and service. I am Italian and don’t usually eat pasta unless it’s at high end restaurants, but I really enjoyed the home made tagliolini. The whole family enjoyed their dishes l.

We where looking for a place to eat near The Met, we found this little place very close by. At first they where very stuck up because they where going to close to get ready for dinner service in an hour . But after we sat , service changed to be very attentive and the food was truly delicious . I would definitely recommend it, but come early for lunch or wait for dinner to avoid being rushed .

Looking for a small restaurant near the Guggenheim Museum. That’s where we arrived. Nice little restaurant where it is better to book. We ate outside (2 tables) because the air conditioning was too strong. Nice menu, very good food. Very original Caesar salad and succulent fusilli al peste. I recommend this place

Great food good wine The frito misto was great and the home made pasta is great too Service is quick and the lemon sorbet was great

If we lived in the city, this a place we would return to again and again. We’ve vacationed in Italy 18 times and this place is the real deal. Artful presentation, perfectly served, fresh ingredients, and flavors we have missed outside of Italy we can’t say enough about the staff and their treatment of a first time customer. Bravo.

small but very fine. from the attentive service, to the stylish furnishings to the delicious food - that has all been very fond of us and tasted. we come back and wish the whole team a successful cooking!

Excellent food, as always! However, their reservation system is very poor. I had made a reservation for 7:00 PM for two, IN PERSON, three days before going to the restaurant. The reservation was entered into the computer by the man at the desk. They even sent me a text to confirm the reservation, which I did. When I arrived at the restaurant tonight, Friday, I was told that I had to wait 45 minutes for the table inside. Every table was taken. I reminded them that I had made a reservation. They said I should have reserved one week before, which no one had told me when I made the reservation. The restaurant has an outdoor shed with tables. The maitre’d pointed to an available table in the shed. When my friend and I went to sit there, the table was taken by someone else. In addition, those in charge were rude and unprofessional. L’ Osteria, you must fix your reservation system! There are many restaurants with excellent food BUT with a good and welcoming reservation system. I shall consider those in the future.

A small Italian restaurant on Lexington Avenue near the Met and Neue Galerie. We arrived without reservation but they made us a place and while we waited at the bar we had a very delicious Italian beer. On the menu Italian dishes with an American twist. The pasta dishes we tasted very good and the cannolo of the rich, rich dessert. The waiters very nice and helpful. A good address to eat pasta at an affordable price within New York standards.

A new favorite, read the menu. The cuisine is a little different from other Italian restaurants. Expect some things to be a little different but ask your server. Lots written about cheese bowl, yes it’s peppery, as stated, we loved it! Have had a few pasta dishes, sauces are wonderful and all pasta homemade. Lamb chop was excellent. Fried calamari best we’ve had in this area. It can be a little noisy when filled so we like to go weekdays when not as busy but it’s still worth it any time. BYO so that helps. Lisa is a wonderful server! All staff seem to be good, no service issues at all.

Very cozy restaurant, I love the atmosphere and the Italian welcome is immediately recognizable! Impeccable service, really good food, I felt “at home” for at least a couple of hours while I was there! The Italian guy was a perfect host! He took care of me like I was his relative! Definitely back!

L'osteria is a neighborhood gem. Probably, only 12 indoor tables with a cozy atmosphere. Staff are friendly and attentive. Our meals were fresh made in-house and excellent. The mushroom soup, pear/ricotta ravioli and panna cotta were all superb! The noise level was moderate to loud. The wine list is affordable. We will definitely return to L'osteria on our next city visit.

The soup and salad were ok. The “sausage rigatoni" had a few morsels of unidentifiable meat and was essentially flavourless. The braised artichokes with parsley and mint had no parsley and mint. The tiramisu was good.

I stopped here before catching the Jitney to the North Fork. The waiters were friendly and respectful even though I was a solo female diner (do we really need to be concerned about this these days?). My food was delicious! I ordered the clams with linguini. The atmosphere was relaxed and waiters very attentive. There were even several well behaved children in the restaurant. This place is a gem! #hamptonjitney

Fantastic experience here! We chose it based on its proximity to the Met. Reservations are definitely recommended because it's a tiny place, but we were able to get spots at the bar, which was even better because we got to chat with the lovely bartender. He seemed so excited about the specials that we had to try them. And they did not disappoint! Tuna crudo with cherries and scallops over the best polenta i've ever had (with a touch of andouille?!?) Wonderful unexpected flavors and beautifully prepared. The manager (Kimi?) was also incredibly kind. We're not in that neighborhood often but now we'll need to make it a destination!

L’Osteria on Lexington is a small, cozy Upper East Side joint — a no-frills, quaint spot that’s friendly and welcoming, the kind of place you settle into right away. I went for lunch with a few hours to spare before heading out of town, as it popped up on a food app with very good reviews. I started with the prosciutto and melon, fresh and delicate, the sweetness of the fruit cutting perfectly against the salt of the meat. Then came the zucchini flowers — light, crisp, addictive. I could eat that dish every meal of every day and never get tired of it. The ragu followed, a comforting, hearty dish without being overdone. And to finish — the cannoli. The filling was the best I’ve ever had, smooth and rich. This place may be small, but it delivers big.

Very small restaurant. wonderful food, excellent service. Had a wonderful pasta with pesto, my wife had a delicious chicken dish.

After a day at the Met, we ate at this little gem. Delicious food, excellent service. We sat outside and even though it was November, we were warm and cosy. Our waiter, was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. He sang Happy Birthday to one in our party with the most amazing voice. Wouldn’t be surprised if that voice and good looks makes him famous someday!
Absolutely fantastic food and service
We stumbled across this unassuming restaurant after a visit to the Met. The authentic Italian food was delicious and the service was impeccable. It was so good at that we couldn't stop talking about it and two days later we went back, even though it was quite a distance from where we were staying. I just can't recommend this gem highly enough.
