I rarely give a 5 - as you can see from my reviews but this spot deserves all 5 of them - from the hosts to servers - to bus boys to kitchen workers - your hard work is showing - big call out to Joel - he made us feel great and we were well taken care of - his presentations of specials and menu made our heart sing!!!

One of the best Italian restaurants in New York in our opinion. The limone scaloppine was great, as was the orecchiette, and spaghetti bolognese.

Well appointed and decorated facility; great ambience. Service second to none from the hostess to the waiter to the food servers. And, of course, the food was excellent. Would dine there again and look forward to it!

Main course: BATTUTA DI POLLO ALLA GRIGLIA, Dessert: CROSTATINA DI MELE CON GELATO ALLA VANIGLIA - boring that the chefs have not bothered to taste the food - as the Italians are so conscious of tasting the food and that you as a customer get a taste experience - our experience of the food was that it was: tasteless, bland and thus really superfluous. There were quite a few waiters who lacked a basic understanding of their role - we had to ask them not to take plates despite the fact that the cutlery indicated that we were not finished. Really nice restaurant with good acoustics and which with small adjustments could do so much more - HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

We were in NYC for Broadway week which happened to coincide with Restaurant week . We visited on a busy Friday night. The restaurant had a special menu for Restaurant week with 3 choices for appetizers and 3 for entrees. All the items we tried were fantastic and the service was impeccable. Grazi !

The food is fantastic .. octopus and rr meatballs were super .. steak and spaghetti too .. what sets it apart is its manager … we had issues with amateur waiters at the restaurant and pointed it out to the manager - he swung out experience 360 degrees .. hospitality industry needs more characters like these .. hands on and completely fantastic .. Manuel take a bow !

Hit this restaurant every time we are in town. Fried zucchini is wonderful. Have not had a pasta that was not a plus. Short rib ragu was great, rich and meaty. One of the few places we have found that you can get a better wine by the glass rather than breaking the bank on a bottle you can’t or shouldn’t finish. Will certainly be back agin and again.

The Service as brilliant and the food was really lovely. We had a great time and would definately go there again. Excellent Italian menu

we had a great time, the place was clean and the waiters were polite, the dishes were super good and quick, we felt at home

Beautiful food. We had a booking which I think seems vital. We found it hard to choose which of the yummy items on the menu to order so definitely over ordered.

This was my second visit to La Masseria. Each time, I have found the food to be very good, if a little overpriced. Think $23 for spaghetti. It's good spaghetti, but it's still spaghetti. The linguine with clam sauce was good and a very ample portion. A woman at the table next to me got the octopus and cuttlefish, which I wished I had ordered. It looked amazing! Their wine list is very good with lots of options. Service is good and dining in the outdoor area is delightful. Great spot on 48th!

What a lovely evening we had at La Masseria! Our meal was the best we had in NYC with burrata that was delicious and house made pasta that was to die for. Great service, intimate and warm interior...you can’t go wrong!

Charming place. Close to theaters. Delicious meals for reasonable prices. Has some outside tables. Excellent service.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in New York City. I have eaten here at least five or six times. The pasta is always delicious and the meals are consistent. It’s a very cozy vibe and we really enjoy the food. Kudos to the chef! We will return many times.

What a fine Italian restaurant should be. Appetizers were incredibly we had the fried calamari and shrimp. I ordered the braised rabbit for my main course with was delicious. Great selection of wines and awesome cocktails. Waitstaff and management were very nice and attentive. We couldn’t have asked for a better meal.

We went for lunch just three of us . As we have been here before we were looking forward to a grilled Veal Chop which is by far the best I have ever had anywhere else Unfortunately the lunch menu does not include the Veal Chop grilled just as a crumbed chop. Instead I had a salad with grilled Shrimp. There were three very large delicious Shrimp . For dessert I ordered an Italian Cheesecake. I have not tasted a more fabulous cheesecake ever. This Cheesecake is a must if you are a Cheesecake eater

La Masseria is a fine dining Italian restaurant inspired by the farmhouses of the Puglia region in Southern Italy. The food is very good. We chose from the limited Food Week menu. I had a small Italian salad and then pasta and berries for dessert. Perfect location to go to the theater. There are two main Broadway theaters next door and across the street.Service is professional.

We went for dinner with friends and it was superb. I was reluctant to go after being at the Palm Beach Gardens location and having a bad experience. This location and that one cannot compare. The only thing they share is their name. We walked in and were greeted by friendly people, not the experience in Florida. We were immediately taken to our table. Water was brought and drink orders were taken. As we were enjoying our drinks and chatting our server politely asked if he could tell us about the specials. We said yes and he did. When it was time to order I can’t say enough about how helpful and polite our server was answering questions because I always ask a lot. When asked about making changes or substitutions to items nothing was a problem. He was very obliging. Again not our experience in Florida. My wife ordered fried zucchini as a starter and I ordered carpaccio. The fried zucchini was a huge portion our waiter had warned her and was delicious. She shared it with the entire table. The carpaccio was wonderful and a great presentation. My wife ordered ravioli for her entree. I felt brave and ordered risotto which I never order out because I make an excellent risotto and on the rare occasions when I have ordered it out it is always disappointing. They had a special with black truffles. When I expressed my concern to our server he said if you don’t like it let me know and I’ll quickly get you something else. How could I go wrong! My wife loved the ravioli which tasted light and homemade. The risotto was fantastic!!! They gave a generous amount of truffles unlike many restaurants. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a nice bottle of Barolo after the cocktails to go with dinner. Ambiance is nice. Prices are average for midtown Manhattan. As I said service was fantastic.

This is our 2nd time at this restaurant in the past year (we live in Michigan) and it was as good this time as it was 6 months ago. The food and menu selections are varied and exquisite, the service is “old school,” by which we mean professional and elegant, and the cocktail and wine lists are a delight. The kitchen is also willing to change things up if you have a special request (my husband asked for pancetta but no blueberry vinaigrette with the calves’ liver - it was perfect and delicious). In the heart of the theatre district, they’re open early and late and an easy walk from any of the popular Broadway shows. Plentiful outside seating and close to major intersections to easily hail taxis.

I eat here every time I am in NY. I love it one of my favorites, great wine selection and tonight the black truffles were amazing! They will always make you whatever you want even if it’s not on the menu. The burrata and the fresh buffalo mozzarella is so good! I sat at the bar since i was dining alone. The bar staff could be more engaging to single diners.

Great as always. Fried zucchini was massive -well enjoyed by the table. Bolognese was decadently rich. Only down side was the table setting as I kept getting bounced by patrons on the way to their table. Have sat in the rear of the restaurant in the past. Perfect - less noise and no bumper cars. Regardless will definitely be back but not during peak hours.

Good service and that is pretty much it. The pasta was just ok and appetizers just slightly above par. Maybe we choose the wrong plates...not sure...

Our 2nd time dining here. Our first visit was excellent, our 2nd was just as good. The fried zucchini was a surprise in terms of its mammoth size and quality. Everyone’s entree was excellent with portions enough for another meal. Although stuffed had to fit in dessert which also did not fail.

Had a wonderful dinner at La Masseria with two friends. The service was so friendly and professional. Our water glasses were never less than half and Omar our wonderful waiter asked us how we wanted to pace our dinner before our theater tickets. It was so refreshing that we had control over when our dishes were fired! The salads were delicious, (we had both the mozzarella and artichoke salads), and chicken, pasta and fish as 3 entrees. Each was favorable and cooked well. We sat on the upper, upper landing which at first I was disappointed by, but....our waiter was so attentive and while there was music and ambient noise, it was very pleasant. The staff each thanked us on our way out (soooooo nice). All and all - I will return.

From the Buona Sera greeting at the front door to the waiter with the thick Italian accent, this is a traditional New York Italian restaurant in the heart of the theater districk. Perfect location for a nice meal before a show.

My boyfriend and I came here the weekend before Christmas. The atmosphere was very inviting. The minute we walked in the hostess was very helpful and the guy standing by the door who I assume was the manager, was extremely pleasant. I had a 9:00 pm reservation and arrived 10 mins early but was seated immediately. The service was pretty good. Our food took a little while but it was worth it. I had the pasta with lobster which was excellent. The lobster was slightly overcooked but overall very delicious. My boyfriend had the prime rib. It was a little fatty as most prime ribs are but still very delicious. Huge portions. Would recommend and will be back.

This Italian restaurant was very good, one of the best so far on this trip! The service very attentive to every need! Great wine list. We will definitely return when we are back in New York.

This was my first time here for dinner. I was in the city to see Hamilton and enjoyed my dinner here. I had a reservation for two at 5:30 pm. When we arrived we were both seated at a nice table for two on the 2nd floor overlooking the main dinning floor. We both shared our calamari appetizer, which was served on two separate plates. I enjoyed my Chilean sea bass special of the day, which was one of my best sea basses recently. We also enjoyed a bottle of chianti red wine. I ended my meal with a double espresso so that I would not fall asleep during Hamilton. The bread sticks here were one of the best we ever enjoyed, because they had a bit of spice to them. When we left we asked if we could keep our remaining bread sticks on our table for our hotel snack. Our server returned with a paper bag full of their bread sticks, including the ones remaining from our table. Table service up here was excellent. Almost all the time an attendant was up here to take care of our needs. My total bill less gratuities was about $200. When we left there was a line waiting for the two bathrooms, since everyone seemed to depart around the same time to make their way to Broadway. Hamilton was only two short blocks away. I will definitely return here again for dinner.

I'd say that previous reviews are accurate for the most part. Very nice place, lots of staff on hand to tend to the customers. We were seated right away as we had a 12pm reservation, no waiting at all. We sat upstairs where there were about 6 other tables. Tables upstairs were a little close, so if you are a larger individual, you would be better off on the main floor where there was more room between tables. After being seated we waited about 5 minutes for our waiter to come and give us menus and the wine list. We chose a bottle of wine, and he was prompt in returning with it. We placed our orders for appetizers, primi plate and main entree. The appetizers - minestrone soup, came out within a few minutes and was very good - good mix of vegetables and base. The primi plates came within 5 minutes of us finishing our soup and were very large, as large as the entree which resulted in us taking home more than 1/2 of the entrees home with us. We were used to primi plate sized servings in Italy, so my suggestion would be to split the primi between 2 people. Everything was excellent, definitely not "Olive Garden" cuisine, but more like Italy as there were subtle ingredients that came to life if you ate slow. Dessert was vanilla ricotta cheesecake - light and excellent. The restaurant was "lively", as it was definitely not quiet, but we had no problem holding a conversation, but certainly not quiet and intimate. If you prefer quiet, dark dining, this is not for you. Was it cheap? Not at all. Glasses of wine will run you roughly $15 a glass or around $55+ for a bottle. Primi plates were around $32 and entrees anywhere from $35 on up. Will I return? Positively!!

The pasta specials we ordered were out of this world. Ravioli with shrimp and artichoke in a light tomato sauce and the Veal with saffron pasta just melted in your mouth. The service great as well!

Very nice dinner. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Food was good; appetizers were better than main dishes. Eggplant parm was delicious. Also enjoyed the artichoke salad with avocado and pistachios. Meatball appetizer was delicious!! Entrees were not as good - special pasta with seafood was just ok. Bland and disappointing. Veal scallopini was good but not outstanding. Almond chocolate cake was good. Overall a good meal but nothing special. Not worth the price.

My wife and I stopped by here after a show one night. The staff was so helpful. Since we were not too hungry they let us split a meal, which was so nice. The Italian dishes are very good. The pasta was outstanding.

Our new go-to Italian restaurant in Times Square. We had a simply wonderful meal here, starting with the shared special fettuccini and portobello mushrooms in a savory sauce that was delicious. Then we shared the “Bocconcini di Pollo Paesano” which was chunks of chicken with Italian sausage, mushrooms and peppers in a white wine sauce that was absolutely scrumptious. We finished with vanilla flavored ricotta cheese cake, which was the best cheese cake we’ve ever eaten. The service was great, with many helpful suggestions. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Was pleasantly surprised! Great location near theaters and our hotel. Was able to sit outside. Service was top notch with Ronald! Food was excellent. Wine was perfect. No complaints and would hightly recommend.

It pains me to have to give one of my favorite restaurants a 1 star rating. Whenever I am in NYC, this is one of my fav places! However, this visit, not so much. We had to ask for bread, drinks to be refilled. I asked for butter for the bread and it came out after them meal. Literally I would see my drink at the bar and wait and wait and wait for it to be delivered. I would like to say this was due to a lack of employees but this was not the case. The employees were more interested in standing around talking than working. The saving grace was the food was excellent! The tip we left need to go to the chef and kitchen staff. So disappointing!

Again thanks to TripAdvisor I was looking for an Italian in Times Square. Here you go. Cozy. Italian perfume. Italian director and waitress. I obviously tried the spaghetti tomato and basil and unless it was a spaghetti, I like 5/7, it was perfect. Excellent Parmesan cheese. Sicilian wine. Fair price $50 each. Thank you. My Italian Choice in NYC

Went on recommendation from a friend. Food was excellent. Service was unacceptable especially for caliber of restaurant. Server was more interested in table of women behind us. We had to ask several times for drinks, bread( as every table around us was getting bread and drinks). Waiters and manager having loud personal conversation behind us while we tried to eat. Food is only reason would give 3 stars.

Excellent Italian restaurant in NY Excellent price quality Nice place, elegant atmosphere but with a touch of informality.... Highly recommended

We came in after a show last week and truly enjoyed our meal. From wine to the ricotta cheesecake it was our favorite of the week! A very comfortable atmosphere and excellent service round out the reasons that we will be back.

Massimo was our waiter and he struck the perfect balance of warmth and formality (His mom paid me to say that 😁) The carpaccio and arugula had hearts of palm and sliced parmesean. It was a huge hit. I don't eat beef, but my son and wife loved it. I shared the salad part and it was really good, until they got mad at me. My minestrone soup was perfect. The broth was flavorful and, happily, the vegetables were gently cooked. My son had the rabbit and said that, "all the details were good." My wife had the special, the homemade fettuccine, porchini mushrooms and shrimp. While she loved it, her fork kept finding its way onto my plate. HEY! I had the gnocchi with black truffle sauce. I usually avoid anything with that word in it because I've had bad experiences with low end stuff that should not be sold. This was perfect, except for the two foreign forks that kept visiting my plate. My wife, forgetting her upbringing, said "This is f'ing awesome." (I'm getting some soap for that potty mouth!) Worth noting is that the couple next to us ordered the gnocchi. He said he's been here before and pointed out that there are no tables here that don't have gnocchi. Order it here.

La Masseria is an excellent restaurant. The food is delicious and authentic Italian. The service is friendly and professional. The space is unusual and beautiful. The sound level is excellent. I had not been to the restaurant since 2019 and am so happy it is still great.

Very confused on why they have so many great reviews. Food is not good at all. Easily one of the worst italian restaurants I have ever visited. Please people try other places. It was just not good at all. Awful honestly.

After the theatre this past Sunday, my wife and I dined at La Masseria. La Masseria is an Italian farmhouse and this restaurant's interior is modeled after one. La Masseria has a warm and cozy atmosphere with a full bar and bar area and a very extensive wine list. We began with a burrata appetizer served with prosciutto, tomatoes and basil. The burrata was silky smooth and the portion large. My wife chose the fettuccini and lobster and I the large rigatoni in grandmother's sauce. Both were delicious. We shared a tiramisu for dessert. We had a very enjoyable dinner in beautiful surroundings. Try La Masseria for very good Italian cuisine.

True italian restaurant, delicious food , beautiful ambience , great staff . Diego specifically was very attentive and friendly and checked on is constantly to see if we need anything or if we like our cod orders . The rest of staff friendly and professional. Definitely recommend this gem restaurant to mid town visitors

Very good but not really outstanding Italian food in a nice atmosphere with good service. Price is high for what you get. The biggest plus is they are open after Broadway shows finish.

Intimate venue with great attention to detail; the staff is polite and very kind; Quick and very friendly service, excellent dishes.

I went with my son and honestly apart from the place and the service that were going, we ordered two first courses and they were one worse than the other my full of garlic the pasta scalded and a green liquid that stomached, we left both in the plate to pay 115,34 dollars ... ah they came all the time to put the water back because each bottle was 10 dollars, there are many places in the area where you eat better and pay half ... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This is our second time to La Masseria. The food was excellent but the service was a mess. We had the Gnocchi and Branzino- truly outstanding. Martinis were terrific. We had rotating waiters at our table that did not communicate. Really diminished from the good food.

We have been coming here since it opened. Not as often since moving Downtown. The Greeting and the Table we like was there for us. The Staff many the same and the food just as delicious. Just a good as always. Consistency of Wonderful people is a key to their success.

To be fair we were also recommended this place by a NY couple and it was great. The Caymus wine was brilliant, you know who I am now. Foodbis excellent as is service by the manager who greeted us and Louis who served us. Gnocci is a must and all round great place. Will be back as promised Thanks again

We ate here before seeing a Broadway show. The food was excellent and the service was even better!! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a pre-show meal.

My best friend and I shared our August Birthdays by celebrating as we do every year by going to a fine restaurant and then seeing a good Broadway show. This time I picked a restaurant very close to the Walter Kerr theater on West 48th street in New York City where we were going to see "Hadestown" the winner of eight Tony Awards. "Hadestown" is the musical version of one of the most famous and beloved Greek myths about the love of Orpheus for the beautiful Eurydice. We both loved the show and so did the standing room audience. La Masseria (means farm house) at 235 West 48th Street turned out to be a delightful surprise. I was expecting the usual Italian fare but seeing the rough stucco walls, the exposed wooden beams along the ceiling and also the antique farm tools, a pitchfork and a harness hanging on the walls made me realize that this was going to be different. The appetizer of "Crispy Fried Strips of Zucchini" are the best in town. My delicious main dish was "Homemade Short Cut Thick Fettuccini with Eggplant and Smoked Mozzarella in a Light Tomato Sauce." My friend enjoyed the "Calf Liver Saute with Onions and Blueberry Vinegar." For desserts, my "Vanilla Flavored Ricotta Cheese Cake" (the best I have ever had) and my friends "Fresh Mix Berries with Passion Fruit Sorbet" came to the table with a flaming Birthday candle on each one and a tuneful rendition of "Happy Birthday" was sung by a couple of the young handsome waiters. La Masseria has a look of an Italian villa, also a bit rustic, and is very elegant serving authentic Italian cuisine.

have been to this restaurant over the last several years but never again after tonight. Had a nice meal with elderly family. The waiter was quite impatient with us and but we had a nice meal and a pleasant evening. When the bill arrived we left a 10% TIL on a meal over $300, suggested tip 18% but frankly the service was not all that, was ok but that’s about it. The waiter then came over to ask if everything was ok with the service and I told him it was ok, to which he responded your not American are you ! He then stood across from me staring making me Feel very uncomfortable. After a pleasant evening I was made to feel awful. I complained to someone in charge on then at out who told me He was just doing his job by asking as he wanted to improve for future, however as a “non American” I felt very upset by the whole Everton. He was left a €30 dollar tip for about 3 minutes of interaction and I am left never wanting to ga back again to somewhere that did have nice memories. He should have been more pleasant in the first place not my fault!

This is a great date place. They gave us a quiet corner as we requested in our reservation. The food selection was not varied (in the NYC Restaurant Week) but all we ordered were very good. Value for money, and excellent waitstaff.

Excelllent venue! Delicious food; Reasonably priced; Fast, friendly and courteous service. Prompt seating, excellent wait staff and the food was prepared, delivered to the table professionally and satisfactorily. Most of all DELICIOUS!

Risotto of the day was very average and lacked flavour. Penne was decent but nothing special. Felt overpriced. Service was quick and friendly

Raviolis were good, pasta with eggplant excellent. Wish we’d been hungrier, as all courses looked exceptional. Great wine list.

I have been here before and so I was not surprised that it was busy but the party at the bar, beside our table, were a bit too noisy until they moved to their table. I enjoyed our meal although the staff probably have notions above their station. I would recommend it but be prepared for fairly high prices.

Really cute New Year's Eve. We had decided to book there so as not to hang around in the cold and given the rain from 20 to 22 we did well. Great restaurant, normal prices to be New Year in NY, very kind waiter who followed us. Maybe it just took a little extra entertainment after midnight even though the guy singing was good. I recommend it

Great italian spot in midtown. Ambiance is nice, service is excellent. Food is always good. Wine list is a little expensive, but still good choices.

Very nice and welcoming place. TRULY ITALIAN and not Americanized food! Really nice owner and waiters. We celebrated a special occasion here and they made everything magical.

While we are not typically drawn to the theater district for dinner, four of us went to La Masseria on a Saturday night last February - our reservations were at 7:00pm and we left the table after 11:00pm. The atmosphere lends itself to good conversation and multiple bottles of wine while enjoying exquisite food. The wait staff is made up of true professionals who are knowledgeable and discreet. It is truly a little gem nestled in the busy theater district and should not be missed!

Terrific family dinner for a birthday in NYC. We were a bit wary because of the proximity to Times Square but the restaurant was splendid. Lovely Barolo wine, burrata appetizer, 3 pastas and a cheesecake alone worth the visit. We will return.

La Masseria is an anomaly in the theater district. The service is great, the food delicious and the setting attractive. My only nit in a recent visit was burnt focaccia which the waiter claimed was how they always made it. The rest of the food was great.

We ate quality and great tasting food. Very welcoming, professional and friendly staff, who made us feel at home on the evening of Christmas Eve. Good wine list. Very good desserts...we liked the ricotta dessert. All perfect

My wife and I were meeting our cousin and her daughter for dinner in NYC and selected La Masseria for the meeting place, which turned out to be ideal. We had a very comfortable table in the rear of the restaurant, which gave us lots of room while not being on top of other tables. Our server Giuseppe P. was wonderful, he was attentive while giving us time to chat and catch up. The have a lovely bar and lots of wonderful wines, I had a fabulous Belvedere martini with delicious Blur Cheese Olives that everyone at the table shared. The wines that others had were a reasonable pour and very nice. Our food was excellent, I had the special which was a Veal Chop cooked and seasoned perfectly, anther had the Bronzini, the Agnolot Ravioli, and lastly the Sliced Pork Chop again seasoned and cooked perfectly. We shared the Torta Padla with coffees to end a wonderful evening. Couldn't have had a better time. We never felt rushed.

We chose this restaurant because it was just down the street from the theater we just saw a show at. We rarely have disappointment with restaurants in New York, but for me, this was a disappointment. I had ravioli which was good, but the gravy tasted like it was out of a can. I am used to the expense of New York restaurants, but this was a bit much. I left a still being hungry. This was just ok for a late night meal.

We took the short walk from seeing Moulin Rouge, also terrific by the way, to this great spot. Some light music, great pasta with truffle(expensive but worth it, great fish and veal, nice glass of wine and finished with shared piece of cheesecake.. perfect end to a weekend in New York. Service was terrifc and a great ambiance. Looking forward to next visit.

I looked at this restaurant before i came from england to new york. The service was impeccable from coming in the front door to leaving. I have to say it was the best pasta i have ever tasted. The flavours in all the courses were so good. Highly recommend if your coming to new york. The decor is high standard as well.

My wife and I dined at La Masseria before our play. We arrived at 5:00 and were immediately seated and attended to. We ordered the I CUCUZIELLI FRITTI ALLA CHEF PINO for an appetizer and found it to be extraordinary. For our mains, we had the AGNOLOTTI PIEMONTESI and the RAVIOLI DI ANGELINA. Both were suggestions and both were superb. The pinot noir was perfectly paired to both dishes. The service was spot on and we felt comfortable and satisfied throughout the entire meal. Hats off to La Masseria. I LOVED it!

This place is, simply too good. Every time we go. Once again, great service, outstanding food, delicious drinks. We go to New York just to eat here.

All perfect. Like being in Italy. The very kind Apulian owner offered us some bruschetta as an appetizer and some tastings of cured meats and cheeses. We then had a super good saffron risotto. After days traveling around America, finally the flavors of home. Super recommended!

I get busy restaurants have to be efficient, but there was 1/4 of the tables empty. I ordered the steamed spinach, it came out in 1 minute. I get that, quick steam and all - take your time between ordering courses. I waited 10 minutes and ordered the chicken part...now, if you know Italian, no Italian serves mashed potatoes with chicken parmigiana. It is always pasta, but the owner explained 'to keep it simple they serve the same sides with all entrees.' But I said it's not Italian. No reply except shrugged shoulders. It arrives about 2 minutes after I ordered it so sure it was pre cooked and heated. chewy later of mozzarella on top. $100 later PASS.

Food was fantastic with great service my only criticism is that it is packed in so tightly it can be a bit uncomfortable it made the experience a little frantic instead of relaxing but can not fault the food at all.

The NYC Theater District has lots of mediocre restaurants. They're set up more for pre-theater crowds of tourists and most don't shine. La Masseria is an exception. This is a great Italian spot that attracts locals and tourists alike with its great selection of fine Italian dishes and wines. Its also quite popular. The evening we were there, people were still coming in and sitting down at 11pm. We loved the energy and vibe there! We would go back in a heartbeat.

Went here with my son, for his 18th birthday. Everything was excellent: food, service, ambiance, except for one thing: when I booked the dinner, there was an option to add a comment or 'special request.' So I asked for a 'birthday' candle with the dessert. We've ordered tiramisu, but there was no candle or anything birthday-related. I can't say it ruined the night since my boy is 18, but I did expect La Masseria to do something special for us.

Decided to have a pre-theater meal before attending Hadestown at La Masseria, after the person at the box office recommended the restaurant. It's conveniently located a short walk away. We arrived early as we didn't have reservations and were seated upstairs - I would recommend making reservations. We were immediately welcomed by Joel and Miguel, their friendly gestures set though tone for our dining experience. What was wonderful was the food quality matched the incredible service! We started with the homemade fresh mozzarella cheese with sweet roast peppers & eggplant, with fresh tomatoes & basil. It was more than enough for two and we topped it with balsamic vinegar. Delicious!!! Then we went all out and shared gnocchi with radicchio & taleggio cheese sauce- again delicious!!! Followed up by FUSILLI ALLA BOLOGNESE for me and large rigatoni pasta with short rib ragout for my husband. Both delicious and large portions. Looking forward to our next visit and hoping we can have Joel and Miguel serve our table!

Absolutely amazing food! Arrived 20 minutes early for reservation, but got seated immediately even though the place was packed. Perfect Rustic Italian place. Lots of activity, but still intimate for a great dinner. Service was impeccable.

I booked this restaurant based on the great reviews that it receives. Unfortunately for me it wasn't the greatest meal I've had! The service was very good I must say and the restaurant itself was very nice. However the food was really average for the prices they were charging. I am a huge fan of Italian food and usually you wouldn't find anything left on my plate, however this just wasn't very good! I can actually cook a much tastier pasta myself! Unfortunately we won't be returning and wouldn't recommend!

A place perhaps too little under the lights, but an extraordinary place to enjoy excellent quality and well-cooked Italian food. Very kind and professional service. Super recommended

Excellent spot for pre or post theatre supper. Good quality Italian food offering very quick service. Liver and onion was good although portion was very large and liver was perfectly cooked in chunks - I'm used to slices of liver. There's something on the menu for everyone as choice is wide. If looking for a traditional Italian restaurant in the middle of the theatre district, look no further.

Always fabulous. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere. Everytime we go to NYC for a few days, we have a dinner there.

We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. Waiter said they were very large. $28 for 2 meatballs! They were good but way overpriced. I had the chicken parmigiana. It came with cauliflower and mashed potatoes. Both cauliflower and potatoes were cold! Chicken was a nice portion but had absolutely no flavor. My husband had the Bolognese and it was good.

A perfect spot to enjoy a family or couples meal before or after a Broadway show. Our server, Ronald, really made it a great night for our family. He knew the menu and specials perfectly. I was especially impressed when I ordered an off-menu cocktail (bourbon and Averna) and he knew exactly what I wanted and brought it right out! The food was very good, very hearty, and beautifully prepared. Their veal is fresh and tender, lovely eggplant parm, and they have a lovely wine list by the glass or by the bottle. The interior is warm and distinguished. It's a busy and popular place, so make sure you have a reservation and arrive on time!

We had a reservation for 8 pm and when we showed up the restaurant was empty and there was a lineup outside. Because we had a reservation we just walked up and realized that every one in line also had a reservation and there was a sign out front explaining that they had been closed for a private party and were re-opening at 8 to seat everyone. I wasn't optimistic that this would be good experience but waited. I could not have been more wrong! From start to finish they did an amazing job of managing a huge influx of customers at the same time. We weren't in a hurry but nothing really took any longer than you would expect at any time in a busy restaurant. Maybe I could say that the first cocktail took a few minutes longer but other than that, cocktails, wine, appetizers, mains - all seemed to come out at a very reasonable pace and we never felt rushed or that service was slow. We ate outside as it was a beautiful night! Food was outstanding! I had a special of Halibut Steak cooked so perfectly that my partner who doesn't really like seafood tried it and liked it so much she had more! My partner had the Ravioli Angelina which was fantastic! We shared the apple tart for dessert which was excellent with a couple of glasses of port! A fantastic evening of great food and great service! I highly recommend La Masseria!

This is now our go to restaurant when we are in the area. My wife and I spent a few days in Manhatten for the holidays. Once again the La Masseria lived up to our expectations. The service is outstanding( the waiter recommended a glass of red wine for my wife that she truly enjoyed!!!) had an early lunch reservation. We had fried zucchini, meat & chesse platter for appetizers. She had the branzino and I had the black pasta special with seafood both were outstanding. We shared my favorite dessert apple tart with ice cream. Glad we could walk off a few calories back to the hotel.

Went to have dinner with family. Food was good and good service Zucchini wasn’t that great. Oily but the buratta was good

The restaurant is beautiful and the food can be good but some of the staff are incredibly poor bordering on absolutely hopeless. Especially some staff that has actually been there for a while. Extremely disappointing experience after having visited before.

Very nice people and place Food I took pasta was to much cooked and not good at all Will not go back

The restaurant is lovely and lively inside, very traditional looking Italian. The staff are polite and helpful. The food is incredibly bland with little seasoning. The linguine vongole had very little taste to the sauce, the calamari was rubbery. It was very disappointing for a meal costing $250 for three mains and a starter. It’s a shame as the location and decor is excellent. Wine was good too.

The bread did not taste fresh. It was served with lentils and olive oil. The lentils had a good flavor. The calamari were tender and tasted good with just lemon. However, they came with a bland marinara. Finally, I ordered pasta with Italian sausage and broccolini. It was disgusting. There was so much broccolini and leaves that the sauce had turned into a bitter green slurry. Everything was covered in green slime. The pasta, the sausage, the garlic, etc. I should have sent it back but I was too tired and didn’t feel like arguing. The lady next to me sent her dish back twice. Not kidding. I would never eat here again.

Went here for dinner before a show with my family. The service was outstanding, very attentive and our waiter went out of their way to accommodate our children. The food was delicious, loved the bread and lentils. The lobster risotto was just ok, but the salads, soup and pastas were amazing. Would go again for a special night out.

Great location, nice decor, efficient service, very tasty food with a wide selection of options. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

The food is very good and the staff is kind, a nice welcoming environment, it is a little expensive (as we are used to in Italy) but like everything around Time Square.

We loved La Masseria so much we went back two evenings later! Delicious, beautiful, fine dining with excellent service - I don’t know what else to say except definitely make a reservation at this lovely restaurant in the theater district of NYC. Over the two dinners, our group sampled two appetizers (including the burrata special - extraordinary!), the artichoke and Parmesan salad, penne with bacon and radicchio, the salmon (so good we ordered it to share the second evening), and the chocolate tart. We loved each thing we tried and the whole experience! Absolutely wonderful!

We visited here this week while celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The food and wine were excellent - special risotto and pasta with a homemade meat sauce. We were looked after by a great waiter called Alesandro. Highly recommend a visit!

Dinner with good Italian cuisine with helpful and prepared staff. A place that recalls the rustic atmospheres of a very peaceful and quiet Masseria despite being between 8th and 7th avenue. The staff speaks Italian at an excellent level.

I was so disappointed in this restaurant, where I have eaten before, about a year ago. Obviously something has changed. My friend and I had lunch there earlier this week. We both had the special, which was shrimp salad. I must say the presentation was nice but there was no taste at all. None. I never use salt, but couldn't use enough of it, just so there was some flavor. The dessert was terrible as well....an apple tart that was as soggy as a potato dumpling. And the coffee was like water. Are you kidding me? Some nerve for an expensive restaurant like that to serve sub par food. The chef should be ashamed. Last time for me!!

It was Nice but pricey.my granddaughter and I got the lobster pasta. Mine didn’t have a whole lot of lobster but a pile of pasta. It was good but $85 for two dishes of pasta was a bit much!! I would go back but would get something different.

This is a charming Italian restaurant near Times Square. It’s more upscale and a bit pricier but definitely better than the other Italians in the area that I’ve tried! I had some homemade noodles with smoked mozzarella and eggplant and it was amazing! We also enjoyed the Tiramisu

We have always enjoyed dining here, but had not been here for awhile. It's even better. We did nit have a reservation, and walked in to an almost completely full restaurant before a show in the neighborhood. None of the usual pompous turn off, do you have a reservation etc. That was the first plus. We informed the waiter that we had to be out in time to make the show and the service was as pleasant and efficient as one would hope. Not rushed, but promptly served. And, EACH COURSE WAS EVEN MORE CREATIVE AND DELICIOUS than I remembered from the past, when, then, it was certainly good. There is enough variety in the menu for anyone's taste. GO.

I had not been back to NYC since covid hit so going back to La Masseria was a treat. We sat outside and enjoyed a nice lunch. Service was cordial as usual. I didn't realize it was restaurant and it just so happened I liked their offerings. My husband went for the regular menu. We aren't "price complainers" but I will add that prices have definitely gone up in the city. Luckily, the food was good. Appetizers: Eggplant parm Mozzarella rollantine with marinated eggplant Entrees; Swordfish Salmon with mustard sauce and zucchini Dessert: Cheesecake La Masseria is still a good stop in midtown for solid Italian cuisine.

Steaks were delicious along with side of spinach. Awesome wine selection. Had a red wine that was recommended. (Not sure of the name.) Variety of delectable desserts. Service was impeccable. Would return in a minute. Walking distance from Times Square.

From your entrance to your exit a wonderful experience. You are pleasantly greeted. The bartender can perfectly make anything you want. The staff is attentive and friendly without being smothering. The food was wonderfully prepared and presented. The wine list is wonderful and the sommelier knowledgeable and friendly. Can’t wait to return.

Excellent service location so convenient to theaters, food solid. Good choice for pre or post theater meal, reservation a good idea.

Masseria means farmhouse in Italian and interior invokes that atmosphere. Rustic beams, stone, etc. very inviting. Service was excellent and Alejandro was super friendly as was the Somm. We both started off with a Frisée salad with Parmesan cheese and bacon which was very good although the Parmesan was clearly not parmigiano reggiano. It tasted more like a Wisconsin version. It was pricey at $21 for what you got. Also, would have preferred a couple more options on the salad/soup section…no Caesar as an example. The pastas were priced near the price of the entrees so it seemed like less of a primi course and more of a main entree so we both skipped the pastas. Would have been interested in a smaller pasta course. For the main entrees my wife ordered the veal scallopine with lemon and capers which she really enjoyed but maybe a tad too much lemon. I had the rabbit which was very tender and flavorful. Each of our entrees came with sides of broccoli/cauliflower and mashed potatoes. It seems like all entrees had the same sides. We did not have dessert. It was a very nice dinner and definitely would return.

We ate here after seeing Mama Mia on Broadway. Everything was delicious and the wait staff was amazing. We ordered off the restaurant week menu and the portions were a nice size. They have wonderful wines and dishes from the Puglia region of Italy. If you like Olive Garden, this is not the place for you. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.

Located near our Hotel, we discovered.pleasantly this restaurant with excellent Italian cuisine. Friendly and professional staff, characteristic location, to return.

We came here Christmas Eve for dinner and were seated promptly despite it being busy. (we made reservations weeks in advance). The decor was warm and inviting and did feel like a cozy farm house as they described. We ordered the appetizer mussel special and a variety of entrees including pasta and meat. They were all delicious generous portions. We had a side of broccoli that had a good balance of smokiness and garlic. We completed our meal with delicious coffee and dessert. The staff were all friendly & attentive but not overbearing. We also didn't feel rushed despite the busy night. We would definitely return when in the NY area!

Have always loved the total experience. Always a warm greeting, very attentive staff throughout the entire time, GREAT MENU that delivers good food!

Visiting from Michigan and our first time back to Broadway since Covid broke out, we saw two shows in one day and needed a place for dinner between shows. We found La Masseria on TripAdvisor and we’re so happy we did. We arrived somewhat early and our reservation was immediately honored, we were seated at a cozy little table for two, and water and a bread basket appeared as if by magic. The captain soon came for our cocktail order and I had a Cosmo that Carrie Bradshaw would have loved. In fact, I had two. My husband and I both enjoyed the extensive wine list. Our waiter was prompt and friendly but didn’t hover. For appetizers, the deep-fried zucchini strings were a delight, as was the carpaccio. My husband had the halibut, a special that day, and it was done to perfection as requested. They subbed out the carb at no extra charge. My veal piccata was equally delicious. An added bonus is watching some of the food being prepared/served table-side. With excellent service and lucsious food, we truly enjoyed this place. Smack-dab in the middle of the Theatre District, it’s an easy walk from almost any show to La Masseria. We’ll be back.

Nice place near Times Square, kind staff first and foremost Vito, the manager, present and friendly, we ate well, the price was in line, I definitely recommend it.

We enjoyed eating here for our last dinner in NYC during a Christmas week vacation. We'd hoped to get reservations before seeing the Rockettes, but we waited too late. We did grab reservations for the next night based on reviews and the location around the corner from Hotel Theta. The atmosphere, food and service were perfect. It was elegant yet comfortable, with a wide variety of options for appetizers, wine and desserts as well as entrees, of course. My fish special was especially nice, but my husband enjoyed the scallop risotto and my daughter enjoyed her pasta. I'm actually glad they were booked before the show because dining here was an event in itself.

We had a great time coming here before a show with my family and mother. It’s a nice atmosphere with a great location near the Broadway shows and the service was very good. Food is just OK. Kind of what you would expect from a standard Italian restaurant nothing special.

Busy noisy restaurant especially pre theater. The service is good. We ordered TAVOLACCIO DEL SALUMIERE 4.5/5, TRANCIO DI SALMONE ALLA GRIGLIA 4/5, and a veal special similar to Saltimbocca 4/5. For desert CROSTATINA DI MELE CON GELATO ALLA VANIGLIA 4/5. Extensive wine list.

Our travel plans changed so we found ourselves without dinner plans and it was late. We did a quick online search for restaurants near where we were staying and found La Masseria. Thankfully they had an opening. Our meal was fabulous and service was great. The homemade raviolis were perfect as was the veal chop special which was stuffed with cheese and prosciutto. Delicious meal and great drinks!

Went to this restaurat before a show and was extremely disapointed. The food is ok (nothing special but ok). But the service is awful. Our waiter was extremely rude . He was also very pushy... when we did not order the recommended special of the day he did not provide any basic service, he was annoyed that we asked him to change our glass of wine when we order a new one... Note to the management, it is not sufficient to have high pricing to be a fine dining restaurant, the two things you need are good food and good service... and you were lacking both...

Had a wonderful dinner here with our family. The restaurant was very kind to my children and the food was great and the owner was very gracious

Perfect meal. Truly. Sat upstairs and was treated like regulars in the best sense of the notion. Completely authentic rustic Italian cuisine. Highly recommend. Will def return.

Excellent experience! Had pre-theater reservations for my daughter’s first trip to NYC, and we met up with my nephew who lives there. We started with the polenta special and then each chose a different dish. Rigatoni with short rib ragout, gnocchi, and chicken parmesan. Tried some of each dish and everything was outstanding. Portions were huge. Will definitely return the next time we are in NYC. Service was exceptional. Our waters were always full. Multiple staff members ensured we were happy with everything without being intrusive or disruptive.

Have never been disappointed by any aspect of my dining experience. Their specials are always SPECIAL! Still trying to figure out the recipe for their avocado/artichoke with pistachio dressing. Wonderful!

A nice Italian restaurant, nice, small, clean. The service is good (there are also a couple of Italian guys) and the food is quality with definitely Italian products. They are open late so the perfect place for a post theater dinner.

My wife and I found La Masseria during a weekend trip to NY in April. We made a reservation and went for lunch. The place is nice, the manager and staff are friendly and the environment is good (also the wine list is great). We even met the actor Jack Black there during lunch (he was going to watch Hugh Jackman's play). I chose a grilled Italian fish and my wife went for the recommendation of the waiter, the "Special of the Day" which was pasta with lobster and shrimp. Two hours after we left, she started to throw up non-stop, feeling nausea. I searched for several urgent cares but couldn't find anyone open, so after several attempts and vomiting over 20 times, we ended up at the ER of Mount Sinai Hospital where she was diagnosed with Gastroenteritis, and I ended up spending a lot of money because of this. Be careful with those "special of the day".

Excellent service atmosphere food. Everything was extremely easy. Would go back again next time in Broadway district

This restaurant is excellent. The service is great and the food is outstanding. Recently went with friends visiting from Florida pre Theatre. I had the risotto with shrimp and squid ink. It was outstanding! The service was very good and the atmosphere was lively. I cannot wait to return!

Once again, the food, ambiance, service, location all outstanding. Linguini vongole, chicken Paillard possible the best in NYC. Always excellent value seating outdoors and indoors!

My husband and I went to La Masseria last night, the ambiance is very nice and the staff was very attentive. My husband's Calves Liver was very good. I'm Italian and love Gnocchi and truffles. Unfortunately I ordered the Gnocchi - they were made perfectly however the truffle sauce was extremely greasy. I was really looking forward to it so really disappointed.

We came here on the recommendation of a couple who live in New York. Our wine was very good. The special appetizers were great also. However for my entree ordered the orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage and was sorely disappointed. It was a pile of green, with almost no sausage at all. Highly Do NOT recommend that dish! It was almost a broccoli rabe pesto. Must have cost them $2 to make. The other food was good but overpriced for what they got. All in all I would suggest going elsewhere for better value for your money.

A piece of Italy both regarding food, atmosphere and service. The starters were really large and the pasta dishes were tasty and presented well. The staff is very service minded - only prices are a bit on the high side.

Called in here at the start of a family trip to NYC, needed a good Italian restaurant nearby to visit. This place is great and very authentic, the food is really well presented and the staff extremely friendly and professional. We mostly had pasta dishes but everything else that we saw delivered to other tables looked superb. I would definitely recommend, gave 4 stars instead of 5 ads only thing was tables are a little too tightly packed. A very good all round Italian for sure!

Great food in an upmarket but casual environment. Service was good and quick. Expensive but reasonable value. We would readily return.

La Masseria Italian restaurant is conveniently located in the theatre district and timely accommodates show-goers. The service is pleasant and attentive. The dining room is pretty, and the tables, which were once much, MUCH, too close together, have been rearranged to allow for more comfortable dining. The food is quite good. There is something for everyone, from pastas, to salads, to seafood, to veal, and an abundant offering of daily specials. The Masseria salad, with mushrooms and roasted peppers, was tasty and the grilled prawns (over salad) were delicious. The pea soup was hearty, and the pasta with lobster was savored. We enjoy La Masseria, for pre-theatre dinner as the food (especially the pastas and the prawns) is very good, the room is pretty, and the service is attentive and appropriately paced to timely arrive at your show. If you plan on dining during the popular pre-theatre hours, make a reservation, as it draws quite a crowd!

Excellent food and service. Couldn’t fault it. Great Italian in NYC. Highly recommend for business lunch or couples. 5 stars

Very friendly staff, place in the centre, excellent quality of food (I ate a first course which is often not so good even in Italy) speed of service. We also tried the pizza in the wine farm and everything was perfect there too! Finding Italy in the center of New York is no small feat! Highly recommended

Omg this place is absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in the atmosphere is warm, cozy and romantic! Our waiter was attentive and friendly which made the experience that much better. The food was literally the best Italian food we’ve ever eaten! We will go back on our next trip to the city!

We visited for lunch prior to a show in the nearby theatre district. We were looking for a place where we could have a nice meal that moved along quick enough that we would make our show, but also, not one of the in-and-out quick lunch places. This place is a real hidden gem, and is right around the corner from the Hilton Garden Inn and other hotels. The atmosphere is cozy and it was decorated for the holidays, the service was friendly, but efficient, and the food was really good. We ate light, with a pair of house salads and a shared risotto dish, however the menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. An overall very good experience. I would go back for dinner next time we are in New York.

Central location close to time square, clean room, polite staff, great service... but the important thing is that it 'a real Italian restaurant run by Apulians and Capri .. genuine food , the manager is Italian , very smart , and knows how to treat customers .. I recommend it to all those who love simple and genuine cuisine

Overall this was about 3.5 stars. While I don't have any major criticisims, I'm not sure this will be a regular stop on our NYC trips. The restaurant is charming with a loft where most of the parties of two sat. Service was good. I appreciate that they split our dishes for us and attentive given the large crowd. They are efficient at getting you in and out for the show. We started with the octopus, shared a plate of the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli. Our main plate was the orata (similar to a branzino), which was well prepared. We shared a sorbet as well with three glasses of wine. We spent $259 with tax and a 20+% tip. Overall, the value was fair for the location.

Fantastic restaurant!! Great wine, great food, great service!! Have not had Italian food this good since visiting Florence! Truffle gnocchi was to die for. Can’t wait to come back to NYC to enjoy again!

We had a very good dinner at La Masseria. I enjoyed their crab and asparagus risotto, although it surprisingly needed salt. My wife loved the Ravioli Angelina. Overall, a very good experience.

I am Italian and went into this not expecting much from the pictures online but turns out it is very good. Trust me, I cook Italian, family from Italy, this is the real deal.

Found this on TripAdvisor. Always wary of large city restaurants, but we hit the jackpot with this restaurant! We were late because our show ran longer. No problem! Great start! The restaurant was open and warmly decorated. We were shown to a table for two on the second level overlooking the restaurant. Our servers were true gentlemen. Professional. We felt relaxed and just enjoyed our time there. It was packed yet we did not feel rushed. Food. Fabulous. I had the special Bronzino. My husband always has eggplant and he loved his with pasta. Sorry to say, we were stuffed and had no room for dessert, but watched some amazing desserts being delivered around us. Great wine choices. Nice pours. As we left, every server said thank you for coming. Just really made the place very special. Highly recommend if attending a show in NYC.

The real Italian cuisine. The staff was very kind. Great Restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, near Time Square. Recommended.

Been going here occasionally for almost a decade. Generally 4-5 times a year as we live in Pennsylvania. Food is generally good to excellent as evidenced by our repeated visits. Our recent experience was tainted by a negative management attitude when I asked clarification of some charges. Specifically, I had mentioned to my guests how I enjoyed their pasta in the past. Our waiter offered that pastas could be half order as an appetizer. We did so and then ordered entrees as well When the bill came I noticed the pasta charges were $24.95 each ( full order was $32.00) when I asked the captain if this was the correct charge he belligerently stated it was, the charge cannot be changed, and it was a 3/4 order, not a half order, despite the waiter saying we could do a half order. He was definitely out of line and was insulting. We have dined throughout the world in multiple fine restaurants and never been accused of not wanting to pay the bill because I questioned if the charge was correct. Needless to say, I will not be returning

Really enjoyed our visit to La Masseria. We split an order of the burrata to start. We then had the special gluten free pasta with scrimp and porcini mushrooms with a light tomato sauce. For our entrees my daughter had the grill octopus with cuddle fish and fava beans purée. I had the veal scaloppine limone. The apple tart was dessert. Ever dish was excellent. Some wines by the glass extensive wine list. Attractive restaurant, attentive staff. Being a NYC restaurant I thought the prices where very reasonable for the quality of the food

Had a busies dinner here. Excellent food. The service was ok but they had Mexican waiter who have so-so English: we ended up with an extra dish. The restraint is very cozy. They have a mezzanine private patio elevated to the second level above the main dining room.

There were 6 of us Saturday night and it was as always exceptional. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. They read the table well as we like to take our time and savour our wine so they left a nice break between courses. The Burrata is a must as is any pasta. No matter what we have ordered we have been happy. Worth the money.

This restaurant is fantastic. We had a lovely meal with great service and ambiance. We would definitely return the next time we are in New York. Great menu.

Absolutely no complaints. Appetizers and main courses were served super fast, food was amazing. A lovely place. Will definitely be back.

Decent place with very hood service. I would rate it with an average 4.56 out of 5 based on the following criteria: * Location - 4.6 * Food - 4.8 * Service - 4.9 * Aspect - 4.3 * Price - 4.2 Good location close to Times Square, Central Park and other main touristic destinations. Tasty food and excellent service. The negative points are high price (around $30-60 per dish) and ugly plastic furniture on the terrace (for the price range it must be better).

After a long travel day and a lot of walking around Times Square, we sat down at La Masseria for an amazing, authentic Italian lunch. It offered quite a nice contrast to the sensory overload that you experience on the street of New York City. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and filling. We ordered the daily special and had an excellent pesto shrimp pasta and superb ravioli. Great atmosphere and dining.

An great spot for lunch. Lot's of house made pastas. The room is comfortable and pleasing, service is good and efficient. Perfect before or after the theater too.

After a mix up on my pre-theater dinner for 8, the restaurant made our reservation work and took exceptional care of us. Our waiter and staff were courteous and professional. All of our appetizers and main courses were delicious and for a party of 8, all dishes arrived together and hot. Everyone loved their pasta’s and main dishes. Words cannot express how great the managers and staff took care of us. It made our experience all the more pleasurable. La Masseria is the place to go for Pre-theater dinner or at anytime. And don’t miss the great desserts.

Fabulous birthday dinner for my wife. Place is beautiful inside and reminds you of an old Italian farmhouse. You know type pasta is fresh and homemade as soon as the fork put it in your mouth. The potato gnocchi literally melts in your mouth. Desert was delicious as well. I had the warm apple tar with ice cream. I’d have given it 5 stars if our waiter would have actually taken the time to tell us the specials much like he did for both the tables to our left and right.

The food was delicious, the service was good. It could all be a little better for the price they charge.

We enjoyed two of the three things we ordered. The expensive lobster pasta was not good. We told the waiter when he came to clear our table. He ignored the comment. All three of us ordered the famous home made pasta with three different dishes. Sending one plate back full of the food did not result in even an apology or recognition. Disappointing! Don’t order the lobster dish.

Fantastic Italian restaurant, NY prices but it is worth every penny! Food is delecious, drinks are amazing and the servants are all super friendly. Will recommend this to everyone travelling to NY!

One of the best, great food, nice ambiance, the servers were all polite, the meat dish good, the fish special yummy, plus sweet cheese deserts.

It was among the favorites before departure, then we found it in front of the hotel where they were staying and so it was that they stayed there 3 times. Everything perfect, very nice place, professional and very friendly service (especially the maitre d' from Albania and little Angelo... exquisite with us). The dishes arrive well plated and (as well as plentiful) very tasty. Highly recommended…👏👏

Excellent place, very rich well seasoned food, second only to the attention and Service, make you feel at home and very comfortable

Second visit to this wonderful restaurant. Fettuccini special was delicious. Priced reasonably for NYC. Good service.

A good Italian cuisine restaurant. All the dishes were great: the eggplant parmesan, the special shrimp salad, the tartare and the main courses. Coffee was Italian and a good one.

Excellent food, service, wine, couldn't be bettered! Was busy but unsurprising considering the quality of the whole experience Definitely would go again

We have dined here a couple of times for a pre-theater dinner. The service is attentive, quick and efficient, which is very important when you have to head off to the theater, but the food is mixed, in our opinion. Most recently, we enjoyed the Insalata Masseria and Linguine Alla Vongole, but we didn't really care for the Orecchiette con Zucchini or the Battuta di Pollo alla Griglia. A place to consider for a pre-theater meal due to their service and location, but we would probably go elsewhere if we don't have a show to rush off to.
Outstanding Italian cuisine
Fantastic food! Staff is wonderful. Comprehensive wine list. Dishes weren’t overly complex, so quality really stood out. All around a fabulous experience that we talked about days after.
