If you enjoy great Italian food then you must visit La Piccola as you will think that you have been transported to Italy and are eating in one of the Italy's finest Restaurants. All the pasta and sauces are from scratch with nothing but the finest ingredients. The seafood, veal and chicken dishes were nothing but mouth watering. The sauces had outstanding flavor, yet did not overwhelm the fresh pasta. The veggies were fresh and crisp to the bite. We all talked about the outstanding quality and amount of thought and detail that went into each dish as we traveled back to the Great Garden State of NJ. We were a group of six and all of us have traveled Italy as well as Europe and the US and agreed that Chef Adolfo Palta is a 10+ out of Ten. When you visit La Piccola Cucina you will understand. The restaurant will seat at maximum 24. The kitchen is at best 8X8 feet. How they are able to produce the meals they do is a mystery to me as well as my fellow foodies. Reservations are a must. Last but not least, there wine selection is outstanding and well priced. Only wish they had more wine by the glass, only one red and two whites. Do understand consider the size of the restaurant. They do offer cocktails, but you have to ask as it's not on the menu. This restaurant is a gem that lovers of Italian food must try. You will not be disappointed. My only regret is we live to far away to visit this outstanding restaurant on a regularly bases.

Had dinner here last week. Great food, cosy atmosphere, excellent service; Recommended! If you prefer a small resto, above a fancy chain or large resto.

A relative who lives in the neighborhood recommended La Piccola Cucina for a reunion dinner, and it proved to be an ideal choice. Seating is very limited, so reservations are a must. The food is classic Italian -- pasta, seafood, etc. The pasta special that evening was homemade linguini with shrimp, tomatoes, and garlic in a wine sauce. Others in our party enjoyed the salmon and brazini. And the to-die-for Italian cheesecake for dessert. The unisex bathroom is only accessible by walking through the tiny kitchen which does afford a close-up view of the staff in action. You know it's a popular neighborhood eatery by the steady stream of delivery men taking boxed dinners from the kitchen. The location is an easy walk from the 110th Street subway station.

A friend in the neighborhood took us to this restaurant on 107th & Amsterdam. The food and service were excellent and the music lovely. I had a shrimp dish that was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is so tiny its like eating in someone's living room. I look forward to going back.

Went to dinner about 9pm on Labor Day weekend, snagged the last table - couldn't be more than ten small tables in here. We had eggplant parm w/spaghetti and linguini with white clam sauce. Both were well-made classics, and the olive bread was wonderful. Two glasses of house red and what could be bad? Very nice surprise to pop in here.

This intimate restaurant has an owner/chef and a couple of staff, very much like small places you would run across in France and Italy. The benefits are the same: very careful attention to the quality of each dish, calm ambience and most important, simply delicious food. My family and I have eaten here twice recently and all four of us enjoyed everything we ordered. The mussels appetizer is to be recommended and I had a pasta special with seafood that was top notch. Prices are fair for the quality--$200 for four including a bottle of Prosecco and two courses, tax and tip. I usually don't enthuse about Italian restaurants because the food often isn't much different than what I could make at home. This one, though, deserves accolades: it's one of the best in this part of town. Molto bene!

I love this place even if it is small. lovely food, pasta is number one well cooked and dressed with some original sicilian receipt. also here no compromise or influences from others. Just italian. thank you always a pleasure.

We’ve loved this place for years. We moved from NYC and now come back here whenever we are in town. Great food and lovely people.

... they mean it - only six tables. Our waiter said that 50-60% of their business was delivery. Either way the food was delicious and they had no problem with us sharing. Very nice.

My husband and I went for an early dinner and had the Pasta Puttanesca and the Shrimp Pasta fra Diavolo with the house red wine, which was very good. The black olive bread was delicious and the food tasted as good as in Italy (or better). I've had my fair share of Pasta Puttanescas and this was one of the better. Moderately priced too. Oh and service was excellent and the small resturant had a nice atmosphere.

I went for a celebration. My wife loves pasta so we googled locations near our apartment and chose this one from the search. Walked past it like 2 times before I found it. Needs better signs. Anyway, the food was very good and a nice ambience. Would go again.

Food and Service = Very Good ! Went there early, right around 4pm when they open. Seating is quite limited since this is a small space. Overall, lovely place !

That's what la Piccola Cucina stands For!! I normally graze in Mid-Town.NYC Area...not ofted I go to Harlem or upper east side. I was invited by a Businesd Assaciate to have w orkig lunch there once. I enjoyed my Linguine frutti di mare. And glass of Chianti.!!! . $$ ****. A little gem to be treasured!!. (C).-Daniele matteo Hackensack Nj USA DrGraybeard.com. Dec. 9/2013

We rely on this small,Reasonable restaurant for it’s consistently superb menu and specials and fair prices. Don’t assume you have to spend lots of money to have a great NYC meal.

Great quality food, we had spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmiggiano and they were both really yummy. Chocolate mousse cake for dessert was also very tasty. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for an understated, relaxing meal. Service was also excellent

What a perfect start to 2019! Dinner with good friends in a small and authentic Italian experience. Service was outstanding. Food was exceptional. Each pasta dish has its own unique flavor. Definitely not a generic tomato sauce. Absolutely delicious. Would come here again and again.

Personal sympathy, especially Wael, and exquisite food! The prices are right, and the location near the square is very nice.

My wife and I love La Piccola Cucina. It’s a tiny little place right around the corner from us with the best Italian food in the neighborhood. It’s got a great ambiance, small though it is, so sometimes we walk over and take the table by the window. They also do a bustling delivery service, which we also use. Highly recommended! Very tasty!

Really loved this small italian restaurant. The food was outstanding, our waitress very friendly and they have some really good wine too. Reasonable prices!

Loved the experience. Food was very tasty, great service as well. Thank you. Will be back for sure the next time we are in nyc.

We live nearby and PC is a favorite. We bring friends from out of town and they always love it. It's not a cheap meal, about $50- $60 per person for two courses and wine, but the quality is absolutely top notch and worth every penny. Pasta dishes, branzino, mussels, veal all are delicious. Service is very personal and pleasant, and they do a lot of delivery business if that is more convenient for you. While the restaurant landscape on the Upper West Side has changed, this place has remained reliably excellent.

We had a wonderful meal. The wine suggests were spot on. The meal was delicious from the stuffed mushrooms, Caesar salad, bolongese sauce with the fresh pasta, or chicken with artichokes and always leave room for the Cannoli !! Looking forward to dining there again next time we're in New York

What a pleasure to eat in a tiny place - 2 tables for 4, 1 table for 6, and 1 for 2. No noise! Quiet classical music! Very reminiscent of Italy. Four of us had four different pastas - fresh made - and delicious. Mine was a sort of primavera, but with 6 large shrimp on top. My companions had sausages - excellent- and a chicken dish that was also fine. Though we had no dessert, the espresso was great. Easy to miss this tiny place, but don't bypass it!

A small restaurant, serving excellent Italian food with fabulous service. It is not easy to find, because it is small and unintrusive. Its prices are reasonable by New York City standards.

I want to advice this restaurant because the service is fantastic everybody is nice with you, the food is really like Italian food because the chefs are Italian they know how to do the job! The restaurant is small but enough to eat the best meal in New York! I’ll come back soon :)

This was the best Italian food I’ve had in NYC! Amazing service and amazing pasta! I love this place and will be back soon.

Really loved this small Italian family restaurant. It has a cozy, buzzy atmosphere with tables close together and the waiters give a very personal service. The wild boar ragu tagliatelle with truffle oil and the grilled calamari with guacamole were delicious. Will definitely return.

Brought my family. Very solid dinner and nice service. Crazy small venue and no frills, but thoroughly enjoyed— kids and adults alike. From Chicago, and nice to give a neighborhood experience.

great food and excellent service. Definitely the best italian restaurant we find during our 10 days vacation in New York

I stopped in for lunch on a trip with two other people. I had the chicken sandwich- it was excellent but a better description would have been much appreciated. It had a chicken breast, cheese, greens and balsamic dressing. Luckily I do enjoy balsamic! It also came with greens and balsamic salad. The manager also brought my party a complimentary slice of chocolate mousse cake for each of us, so that was of course a great addition! A friend did get a greek salad which did not include any greens/lettuce. I have never seen that and if I ordered it myself I would have been discouraged.

A tiny, little goldmine on the Upper Westside. Food authentic, fresh, and homemade. Nothing out of a can here. Meat sauce terrific. Genuine tomato sauces. Good lasagan and chicken francese. Delivery fast and food comes piping hot! Service excellent. Don't blink of you might miss it.

Very good tiramisu and service. The pasta is good but the sauces are not, it seems like they’re using cornstarch to thicken them.

Small, cozy, romantic, really good food. We just stumbled across this place and went in. The food was great and the service was excellent. They serve small dishes to share and three out of the four we ordered were excellent. One (mushroom lasagna) was just okay, a little mushy and only room temperature, but the taste was good. They also have a great selection of reasonably-priced Italian wine. The young ladies who served us were knowledgeable, friendly and provided great service.

Very good price quality ration and great portions! Would come again... nice real Italian food!! Good service

Went with another couple a few days ago. Very small neighborhood Italian restaurant, serving delicious food. I had the Fruite de Mare and it was delicious, just the right amount of spice/heat. My wife had the Linguine with white clam sauce (that I finished for her) and we both loved it. Our friends made reservations, and considering the size of the place (only about 10 tables) it was a good idea. Will certainly be back!

This cozzy small intimate restuarant has its strenth in the classic pasta dishes. There is no experinmenting and no innovative dishes. The past is made and cooked well. This party of five all had the pasta and each dish was succulent. The reason for the 4 rating is based on compariison with other extradinary NYC restuarants. The past is well done.

Excellent food and service. We tried numerous pastas and a few apps with a salad and it was perfect.

This restaurant is such a unique find. From the food to the vino to the atmosphere, I would highly recommend. Our waitress Laura was amazing, such a warm and friendly person who was a pleasure to have serving us! When visiting New York again we would definitely return. :) 11/10 fantastic.

Although the place is small, but the services are very good and warm. The food is also nice, especially the New York Cheese cake. We have a wondetful time here.

I enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant. I ordered piccata chicken and it was delicious. The NY cheesecake was wonderful. The garlic bread was meh (I like mine with A LOT of garlic and this was a mild version of it, but decent). The wait staff were terrific! Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals (pasta, eggplant). You must walk through the kitchen to the bathroom, but it was a very nice bathroom indeed. The restaurant isn't cramped if the table next to you is empty. Enjoy!

This restaurant is small and cosy, you are made to feel welcomed immediately, and the food and service is lovely. We had garlic bread for the appetiser, which we found tasty, unlike someone else who reviewed. Yes, it was not full of garlic but the bread was lovely and crunchy, I could easily taste oregano and rosemary and garlic and the Parmesan too, so we both enjoyed it. I had the special of the night which was salmon, and that was yummy. My husband had the veal that had been egg battered and in a lemon garlic sauce which he thoroughly enjoyed. We were both happy with the complete meal and walked out very full and soon found ourselves recommending it to a fellow pair of travellers only a block away as we walked off our full stomachs.

Very small, but authentic Italian food, pleasant service and reasonable wine list. It reminded us of some places we'd eaten in Italy.

Nice Little Romantic Restaurant. Small Restaurant, only a few tables. The Food is Good. I had the Penne Alla Vodka. The pasta was cooked al Dente, which is the way I like it. It came with Peas and onions in the Sauce. It was very Tasty. The Atmosphere is nice for a quiet meal. The Service is very attentive. Make reservations, especially on the Weekends.

I have been coming here since inception. restaurant has gotten consistently more well known and consequently a little more expensive. But a fabulous place. And now it takes reservations. go early
Enjoyable, good service little Amsterdam Italian restaurant
Went here with family recently and had decent meal. Not top notch but decent for the price, especially in NYC. I have been going to these little restaurants lately with seating for less than 20 people and find them very cozy, yielding an intimate dining experience. La Piccola Cucina means small kitchen in Italian and I can vouch for it's smallness. The bathroom is in the back of the kitchen and you have to be a bit slim to fit through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, but my 180 lbs made it. The kitchen was spotless as was the dining room and the bathroom. This is a tablecloth type setup with a liquor license with the house wine being $38 per bottle. A limited selection of wines and beers were available, but we had the house wine which was tasty. We had a variety of dishes ranging from Chicken Picatta to Mixed Seafood over Pasta. We opened with the arugula salad for 2 at $12.00 which was a really nice portion with tomatoes, peppers, red onions and a tasty vinaigrette. The entrees ranged from about $18.00 to $26.00 and all with filling portion sizes, served with a side of fresh veggies or pasta. There were a few dessert selections which were fresh, ample size and not expensive. I would go back.
