Amazing fresh pasta

By Joan M |

Had to visit twice in one week. The pasta here is incredible. Fresh flavors and light tasting. The lasagna is 12 layers (I believe) and perfectly balanced with meat and sauce, not over done. No stuffy I ate too much feeling, just 100% satisfaction. We ordered the ricotta and spinach ravioli with lemon sauce, the lasagna and the short rib tagliatelle. Shared among the 3 of us, our own sampler so we could enjoy it all.

A Real Treat

By p38j |

Went to NYC for a later then usual (3PM) matinee of "Finian's Rainbow" and decided on Eataly for lunch with nothing locked in upon our arrival. Decided on "La Pizza & La Pasta" and checked in around 12 Noon when we were give a 20 minute wait. With all there is to see and do at Eataly, the wait (surprisingly short) was not a problem. The restaurant texted us when the table was nearing availability and we had a short five to six minute wait while it was vacated and reset. Our primary service person was "Lei" and she could not have been more proficient and personable. There was no problem making a couple of changes with my entree request (eliminating the brussel sprouts and chili flakes) and we both picked Italian white wines we had not had in some time. I had truly forgotten how good a crisp, well chilled Orvieto can be! Shared a salumi antipasto appetizer and then proceeded with two (see below) excellent entrees. Had a very attentive bus person and the entrees were brought out by a runner from the kitchen who knew which entree went where. Lei checked in periodically without being obtrusive and we had a couple of interesting and informative chats with her about Eataly and the restaurant. Our entrees were excellent with the pasta being as good as you will find in terms of quality and preparation anywhere in Italy. The kitchen knows what it is doing and the proof is to be found on your palate. If you want coffee and or dessert, you are off to other areas of Eataly as these are not on the menu. We highly recommend trying all of the facilities at Eataly and were obviously quite pleased with our lunch. Mario and Joseph have developed a wonderful concept with Eataly that is as fresh and interesting today as when it opened.

Delicious

Tip: make reservations if possible. This was a very popular restaurant in Eataly. Took my family of 5 and we all were happy with our lunch. Portions we a tad smaller than what we are used to. I’m not sure we would have enjoyed this as much if we had dinner there instead. Staff is very attentive, more for efficiency of getting people in and out quickly.

Wonderful New York experience

By NYCMike96 |

I had some friends in from out of town and I wanted them to see Eataly. I had made reservations for 8, but we were done with our tour of the place early. They were able to accept us early and could not have been more gracious. The pizza and pasta were terrific as was the service.

Overpiced but ok food

By Paradise593555 |

Eataly is a nice place to visit, however Chelsea Market is far far better. The food at La Pizza & La Pasta is ok, but the wine we had was incredibly bland, and $11 minimum a glass! The real sore point was that we paid the bill and left $10 tip - 20%! - and then when I checked later they also added $10 to our bill, even though we left a cash tip and did not authorise anything further. So essentially, they stole ten bucks from us. Morally wrong, and worth it if the food and wine were excellent, but definitely not here. Would highly recommend Chelsea instead.

Always an excellent choice

Love coming back here! Love the fresh ingredients! Love the pasta and pizza! Fabulous wine choices as well.

I'll Have Both!

By Jan P |

First things first . . . this restaurant is located in downtown Eataly near the 9/11 Museum inside a mall. You have to wind yourself around to the back of Eataly where various other restaurants are situated. On the weekends, it gets packed at Eataly but don't get discouraged. The restaurant does not take reservations so best bet is to put your name on the list and if there is a wait, take care of your shopping needs - there is plenty to explore in Eataly! Regarding the food, we ordered a salami and cheese board and it was a great way to start an early lunch. They also have a decent wine list which pairs well with everything on their menu. We ordered pastas and three different pizzas for lunch. The pizzas are personal size so best to order different ones and share (we were a group of 8 and between the salami and cheese board and the pizzas, that was plenty). All of the pizzas were amazing - the crust was thin and crispy and wasn't greasy even with all of the toppings. The tartufata pizza (black truffle cream, mozzarella, sweet sausage and fresh basil) was the crowd favorite - amazing! Food seemed reasonably priced ($15 to $10 for pizza). Again, it can get pretty busy but once you are seated, service is friendly, helpful and attentive.

Lunch date with friends.

By edecarmine |

We ordered pizzas, not the first time we have eaten here. Wanted a quick lunch. Pizza was actually way too salty, soggy. The cheese and the sauce slid off as we tried to break it apart to place on plates. Who is watching quality control. 19.00 for a small pizza, the size of a dinner plate. Never again

Simply said: wow!

By WhJet |

Here with my wife and daughter for dinner. We all had pasta and it was great! A bit pricey, just a bit! Great service as well!

Some seriously good pizza

By flrelax10 |

We ate at Babbo and were highly disappointed, but this Batali restaurant hit the mark. Simple pizzas and pastas that are seriously good! Just be sure if you order the special you check the price my pizza was $25 when the others run about $15, but it was worth it. Get here before they open and stand in line or open table for a Rez because a line forms before they even open.

Delicious Pizza

By IrishScorp |

I absolutely LOVED this pizza. My friend and I didn't realize how big this individual pizza would be, so we both ordered one.. we easily could have shared one. The coal fired oven adds such a wonderful depth of flavor. I'd go back to Eataly just for this pizza, it was phenomenal. We also ordered two blood orange proseco's. It was a wee bit too strong for me, but the blood orange flavor was really nice. Our waitress was very pleasant and friendly.

Pleasantly surprised

By SRWelch00 |

We'd eaten at Eataly before, the sit-down-with-reservations Manzo, and wasn't terribly impressed. La P & P however pleasantly surprised us ... both the pizza and pasta were very good, and service was attentive and pleasant. We'd go back (which, with all the choices in NYC, is a good endorsement). It's also nice to just walk into a place once in a while in NYC and be seated (albeit this was a Tuesday night 6pm). Massese pizza was delicious (even the crust); Bucatini spicy and tasty (and appropriately al-dente); and we bought a bottle of the La Mozza cabernet at the wine store next door, we liked it that much.

Authentic Italian pasta!!

By RobbyRoma81 |

We shared two different types of pasta: fresh pappardelle with mushrooms and calamari with seafoods sauce. Both were very good!! We absolutely advise this place to anyone wanting to try authentic Italian food!!

Pizza like in Italy

By Sherry N |

Visited Eataly this past weekend and wanted to try the pizza at La Pizza & La Pasta. The restaurant was full at lunchtime, but being a solo traveler, I was able to get a counter seat right away. Service was pleasant and efficient. I ordered a glass of wine and the Capricciosa pizza which has artichokes, mushrooms and olives. It's my favorite pizza in Italy, so I wanted to see how it compared here. The pizza arrived quickly and was perfect! Just like those I've had in Rome and Florence. The crust was very thin and required eating with a fork due to the weight of the toppings. Just perfect! I'll definitely visit again to try other items on the menu.

Great Pizza and Pasta

By Richard P |

If you are looking for great food in a casual environment in the Flatiron area, then I highly recommend La Pizza & La Pasta. In particular, the Spagetti cacio e pepe is ridiculously good. The environment is loud, and the decor is no-frills, located in the pasta section of the market. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this isn't the place, but the food is awesome.

Long Wait - Excellent Fresh Pasta

By Delaine G |

We did wait about 1 1/2 hours to eat, even though we were told it would be 45 minutes. But it was worth it, the service and the pasta were amazing - fresh and fabulous. There were 4 of us and we had a bottle of wine and 4 different pastas - all delicious and cooked perfectly. The bill was about $130 and well worth every penny! Eataly is a fabulous place to visit - much to see and plenty to spend money on - unique!

Great place to go after/before 911 Museum visit. Nice and chill environment that’s good for families

By Stacey |

Great food and table service here. Got the thin crust margarita pizza and it was delicious! I prefer thin crusts because they’re less filling and I feel like you can enjoy the ingredients better without so much dough. The clam linguine was a bit bland however, so I wouldn’t recommend that.

Very good

By paulinek |

Had lunch here on Saturday. Arrived just in time with no wait for a table of three. When we left there was a line waiting! Had ravioli with lemon butter which was amazing. Pizza with eggplant, zucchini and roast peppers was very nice. Service was good, quick but not rushed. Only drawback, tables were close together, as other diners were coming and going several bumped into our chairs.

Good food..

By Clancy592 |

We had a pizza and the ravioli. Happy with both. Very busy and quite noisy, but reasonable value and service was good. If we lived here we would be regulars.

Worth the wait!

By callmemochelle |

This place is CRAZY crowded, but if you have patience, its worth staying for food. Upon entering Eatery, head to the back of the place, and veer right. Put your name down and then roam the Eatery marketplace. I came here to celebrate my birthday with 13 other friends on a Friday night. Our wait time was an hour, but well worth it. We were seated upstairs in a private room. It was a very narrow room, impossible to walk around, but I really liked the coziness of the room. We were told ahead of time that some food take longer than others, and we were given bread wrapped in paper along with olive oil for dipping while 1 of the 2 servers took our drink and food order. The food took about 20 minutes (give or take). I shared a pizza and pasta with Stephen, and thought the pasta won hands down. The portions aren't huge, but the size we "should eat". Everything is fresh, and just like Italy, no refills on drinks. They only specialize in pasta and pizza, so if you want coffee and dessert, you have to go to that part of Eataly for it. I had a very memorable visit, and a great birthday. They have one in Chicago, and I can't wait to try out the one in Los Angeles and compare.

GO! Best place in town.

By davidk83 |

I wrote an at length review at the Eataly Site but this place is top-notch. Ask for Manny and get ready for the best meal ever. Service is out of this world from the bus staff, to the managers. Keep it up guys, hopefully these other places learn a thing about service.

Delicious!

By Goldlitt |

We ate at this delicious restaurant on a Saturday night. Make reservations, as it gets very crowded. The menu is delightful as is the wine list. I had the lasagna and my friend had the ravioli. Both excellent choices. Had the Chianti Classico and it was excellent. Only the Service didn’t get an A. The server never came back once our food was delivered and then only to give us our check. Didn’t ask if we wanted dessert (a cannoli would have been nice).

Pizza and cannoli

By gallkb |

We stopped in the downtown location at Eataly after visiting the 9/11 memorial and museum. Pizzas were delicious - thin crust and fresh toppings. We tried the pepperoni, the sausage and the margherita & all were great. Then we tried a few cannoli - literally the best cannoli we've ever had!

Great pastas at Eataly....

By JustineV25 |

Having had our first course at Il Pesce, we headed over here for some pasta and pizza. We were seated fairly quickly and the service was swift and friendly. From the fresh pastas we chose the pork rib ragu which was very tasty with small chunks of melt in the mouth pork, and perfectly cooked fresh tagliatelle. From the dried pasta choices, Vesuvio, which was a lamb based pasta with a bit of kick - again, very delicious. We also had the Marinara pizza which tasted good, albeit fairly soggy and limp with quite a bit of dried oregano. So - definitely go for the pasta. For 3 pasta, one pizza and two glasses of wine, total including tip $140, so not inexpensive but it was satisfying and tasty.

Good Italian food.

By dpvroege |

This restaurant is located in Eataly, a combination of restaurants and italian food shops. We were here on a Fridaynight, it was very crowded so we had to wait 15 minutes before we could sit on a table, but in the meanwhile we went through the shops. The food was delicious! Homemade pasta and pizza, all very good.

Fantastico!

By Richard F |

Don't let the wait fool you. No reservations, but show up , get on the list, grab a glass of wine and check out the rest of Eataly. We were seated in the balcony, ordered our food and before we had two slices of fresh bread and dipping oil, our food arrived! My wife had the pappardelle fresh pasta and mushrooms, while I had a fresh Italian sausage pizza with mushrooms and basil. You could see and taste how fresh it was! Can't wait to go back and try additional choices!

Will Return for Amazingly Fresh Deliciousness

By Caprice164 |

So we just had lunch here yesterday, yum, yum, so good.... Will be returning for sure, explains why there is always a long wait time. Worth it!!!! I have try all restaurants at Eatly, except Manzo, which us next on my List. By far this was the best and El Pesca. We started w/ a radicchio and fig salad which was excellent. We all loved each others plate so much, it was good. Simple and flavorful. Perfect portions. So satisfied didn't have dinner that night. I had the linguini, al dente w/ fresh tomatoes and shrimp, garlic and fresh grated parmesan cheese. No need to drench pasta in sauce, it was just so delicious. My sister exact words were "its like a garden in your mouth". .... She had the pappardelle pasta w/ mushrooms, fresh basil, and fresh parmesan....I loved her earthy plate so much I switched half way. My little sister had ravioli in shape of sunflowers filled w/ fresh ricotta w/ corn. Yum, never had raviolis w/ corn. Something I look forward to trying at home. Wished I took pictures, such pretty plates.

I am in love...don't tell my fiance!

By LaVondilyn |

Oh, it was love at first bite...no really. I had no idea what I was in for when I ordered the Tagliatelle with Short Rib Ragu. My, my, my...the pasta was perfectly cooked (what else would you expect from a restaurant in Eataly, right?) and the ragu was rich and hearty. The short rib in that sauce was tender and succulent. This is arguably the best pasta dish I have ever had! I. Ate. Every. Last. Bite. We paired it with a California red and sopped the sauce with their delicious bread (which I wished was toasted and hot, but was still good!). It was a meal to remember. And, I cannot wait to go back and have it again! We have another trip planned for late summer and this restaurant with this exact same dish is on my radar...

Absolutely Amazing

By anna0124 |

I always thought it was impossible to screw up pasta, but after eating here, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to order pasta anywhere else again. I ate the spaghetti al pomodoro and added the extra fresh mozzarella. Holy moly, was it amazing!! I wish I wasn't hungover so I would have ordered some wine too! Can't wait to go back!

Regretably Underwhelming!

By Syd Boore |

Underwhelming experience, food didn't meet all the hype. The best dish was squash ravioli; however, that too was something you can easily find anywhere in an Italian establishment, so visit to Eataly for it was not worthwhile. we went here for our son's birthday and as you know kids love Italian cuisine, especially Pasta. This place didn't do too well with tat audience either.

Superb italian food at reasonable fare

By Joris E |

When arriving at Eataly, it's easy to get lost between the parts of the shops and the many restaurants it contains. La Pizza & La Pasta sits all the way in the back in a crowded part. I was seated at the bar at the busy passageway slap bang in the middle of the hustle. I came here initially and had a pasta with ragu which was really nice, I saw the pizza pass by and decided to come back a few days later for it. Both meals were very good and at a reasonable price. The only downside was how busy it was while sitting at the pass / counter. As the passageways are narrow, you will constantly feel the waiters passing by which can be a little disturbing.

Great place to eat at Eataly

By italy-nuts |

Wonderful pasta, including gluten free for my wife. Appreciated the e-waiting list that allowed us to shop at Eataly and be texted when table ready. Obviously popular place, but waiters really hustled without making you feel rushed. Enjoyable atmosphere, not too noisy to carry on a conversation.

Best meal of our trip. Hands Down!

By MFLO94 |

If you are looking for Italian food, La Pizza and La Pasta is the perfect place to visit! Not only was the food delicious, the staff was incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. I suggest the pasta dish named "Calamari" which surprising does not contain calamari in the dish itself, but is named for the calamari shaped pasta.

It says vegetarian friendly - but watch out!!

By Judy C |

When our waiter came to take our order, I immediately stated that my husband and I were both vegetarians. We ordered the cheese platter and a margherita pizza. First came the cheese platter with the "accompaniments" - slices of meat. I sent it back and asked for just cheese. We waited. Next came our pizza - with meat. I sent it back and at that time told the waiter to hold the cheese platter. Then came, who we thought was the manager and asked us what we wanted - not too nicely. I said a margherita pizza and spaghetti with marinara sauce. Wow - then came our cheese platter! Finally, came the pizza and spaghetti with a butter and black pepper sauce! This was an experience like no other. Very unprofessional and the food was absolutely nothing special to have waited an hour for the incorrect order. There are so many lovely Italian restaurants in nyc - I will never, ever go to a "Lidia or Mario" restaurant again. Vegetarians beware!!!!

It's a good thing I don't live close.

By Magnolialady39110 |

I love this place. The wait for a table can be ridiculous at times, but at least you can walk around and see all of the wonderful sights in this busy, big, beautiful tribute to Italian food and they will text you when a table is ready. I have tried several of the different pastas as well as several different pizzas during various trips to the city. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and I usually decide what I want to eat and go with their suggestion for wine to go along. So far they haven't been wrong. I hope to be back soon on another trip to NY.

Once my go to restaurant but I was disappointed

By mywu |

I always love the food here, however I was disappointed today. My appetizer was ok the pasta was the main disappointment. Pasta was soft and sticky. Services was poor. The restaurant is also not particularly busy to turn out a disappointing meal. Will not visit again.

A taste of southern Italy

By joeyeatsout |

Two of us decided that an early lunch was in order after a bargain shopping spree at Century 21 across the street. Located in Eataly, the fabulous food store in the One World complex, you have views from your table of the WTC pool and One World. A large menu is scattered with lots of house made pasta and of course, pizza. We order Quadrati, a thin ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta swimming in a lemon butter sauce and topped with chopped pistachios that is absolutely delicious. And Vesuvio, a spicy tubular pasta dish flavored with a house made pork sausage and broccoli rabe…again with a rich butter sauce. We have an Aperol spritz and a spritz made with blood orange liqueur. Everything is very good, including the service once we get it started. It’s not what I would call cheap.

Bad timing for my visit

By Tom H |

I believe they are more tasty usually. I visit them when they are almost close, and my pasta is not fully cooked. So it wasn't tasty as it looks. I hope to visit it again next time at a better timing. But as long as they are open and seated me as a customer, they should've done the job right by cooking it as they should be rather than rushed to cook my food and caused the pasta taste half way cooked.. I guess they need some improvement on that

A taste of Italy

By fun-family-eatz |

Everything about La Pizza & La Pasta is absolutely exquisite. From the cheese plate to the pizza, everything here is delicious, and of the finest quality.

Overrated restaurant lunch

By cecesimms |

It was hard to tell all the restaurants apart, perhaps that was the first clue? I appreciated the waiter who recommended the lunch special, however they were super busy and not around much. Should they should have cleared the water glasses if we weren’t using them because we ordered other beverages? I think the zucchini fries were cut a bit too fine, they broke when I tried to spear them with my fork. The ravioli was a bit too al dente. Would probably try somewhere else in the neighborhood first. Given all I’ve heard about Eataly after all these years, I expected more.

Amazing pasta at Eataly

By Kristy M |

This is my second trip to Eataly and after the first visit, I was dying to come back when I next visited NYC. Eataly is a restaurant/deli/market place for all things Italian. You need to 'check in' with each restaurant to book and then they send a text to let you know that your table is ready. Be prepared to wait. Or do as we did, book in at a couple and have a starter at one, main at the next. La Pizza & La Pasta was the best of the restaurants that we visited: the bucatini all'amatriciano, parpadelle con funghi trifolati were amazing. Our waiter was quick to ask if there were any food allergies he should know about, which was great to hear. Be prepared to wait, this is one of the busiest restaurants in Eataly. But it's the BEST!

Good Pasta & Pizza

Delicious!

Went as a group and shared pizza and salads. Great menu so it was difficult to decide. Pizzas were excellent!! Service unfortunately was just slow for no apparent reason. Would gladly return and hope for better service.

Pizza & Pasta Inside Eataly Downtown

By TravelTea |

We went to Le Stagioni for dinner previously (the sister restaurant) to La Pizza & La Pasta inside Eataly. These 2 restaurants share the same wait/register line & you tell the host/hostess which restaurant you want to go to. Since we loved Le Stagioni for dinner; decided to try this for lunch. Ordered Italian sausage pasta and the veggie pizza (originally made w/ white sauce which we don't care for & asked our waiter to swap for red sauce). He failed to mention that there was a $2 charge for that (also; not mentioned on menu). The prices are very expensive for what you get; the portions are small and the veggie pizza hardly had any veggies. (See photos.) A bit disappointed compared to our delicious meal at Le Stagioni. Also, our waiter wasn't very informative (didn't bother to explain the menu or specials) & was scarce. IMHO, I think this side caters to families (w/ small kids) who assume the prices are less expensive than the sister restaurant. Service was hectic & not as attentive. It was still expensive for the amount & quality; I'd prefer Le Stagioni (w/ less wait time, better service & better quality food/choices).

Great pasta!!!!

By Katerina C |

Very good food, friendly staf ,if you love pasta is amazing!!!! Price normal , we take sometyhing for first and don t eat and they don t put in the check !!! We don t believe it!!!!

Eataly at trade centre 4

By Strictly2 |

Went here for lunch after visiting One World Tower. Had to wait but worth waiting for. Friendly waiting staff who were happy to engage. We shared the meat and cheese platter a dressed salad and a pizza. All of it was superb. Very tasty well presented food. Reasonably priced although we stuck to beer as bottles of wine seemed pricey! Oh, and the olives were good too.

Lousy service

By elisa m |

We did not like the service. The waiters were not very respectful and they were in a rush and in a hurry although we had a reservation. Their were not pizzas available. We don’t recomend this restaurante.

AMAZING pasta dishes! I REALLY MEAN THIS!

By Douglas P |

Sometimes I am absolutely amazed that "simply" pasta and cheese can taste SO GOOD! Our group of seven sat upstairs which was a little warm (they did have a portable AC unit) but it didn't bother us. The temperature was comfortable mid-afternoon. It did NOT deter us from tasting some absolutely fantastic pasta! We had three separate dishes and one pizza. By the way, the pizza was AWESOME as well! These are traditional Italian dishes!

SALSICCIOTTA!!!!

By TravelAgentAnonymous |

My daughter's favorite after-school meal...the fresh pastas and pizzas are simple and delicious. The wait time is short if you can arrive before 4pm. After that, all bets off...

Excellent, Authentic Italian Style Pizza

By kstraveler81 |

This pizza is as close to the pizza you get in Italy as I've had in the U.S. Like Italian pizza, the ingredients are simple, the crust is thin & crispy and like Italy, it comes out fast. Our pizza was delicious. The well selected wine list contained a lot of good Italian wines.

Excellent pizza!

By P. Audrain |

We had lunch and the pizzas were very good. I would even say excellent! A nice and relaxing space. Service was fas. An excellent experience overall!

Excellent Solo Dinner at the Open Kitchen

By DRLand |

In NYC on business I wandered into Eataly -- the mega Italian store and experience inside the Westfield shopping center -- and grabbed a seat at the open kitchen bar. The food and service were great. They have an excellent list of wines by the glass -- Italian, nach. I tried the buffalo mozzarella as an app -- it was outstanding. For an entree I went with the linguine with shrimp and scallops and it was fabulous. Got to watch the chefs in action as an added treat. I plan to return!

Not great.

By Thomas M |

I am a big fan of Eataly but was disappointed eating at the pizza and pasta restaurant today for lunch. I ordered a rucola salad which was good (cool, crisp greens and nicely dressed with good lemon flavor) but the Lasagna Bolognese I had for my main course was not good. It was barely warm and there was very little Bolognese - of the twelve layers of pasta that I was able to count, there was what I would refer to as the main portion of Bolognese between two and a little in a second layer and the rest was just layered pasta - and the flavor was non-existent. Also, it came about one minute after my rucola arrived and when I asked the runner about why it came so quickly, he appeared to be upset with me and said to me, "if you are not happy, I can hold it." Which I am sure would not have helped an already sub-standard dish. I have always enjoyed the different restaurants at Eataly and have been a customer since the first day but if the pasta and pizza spot cannot get lasagna right (and the coursing of an appetizer and a main) that is a bummer.

Excellent Italian

By ilivennj |

This is one of the restaurants located at Eataly and the food is great. I had lunch there with family last Saturday. Eataly is also a "destination" since it includes not only numerous restaurants and food counters but all kinds of Italian items . . . . pasta, sauces, cheese, etc.

Awesome

By Jordan B |

Right in the back of Eataly, it has amazing pizza with all fresh ingredients and the pasta is made there too. If you go too Eataly eat here.

Busy Atmosphere but Good Food

By NCNummi3 |

We ate at La Pizza/La Pasta in Eataly with our 14 year old grandson. Eataly is a busy Italian market with several restaurants stationed in the midst of the all the vendors. Very confusing at first, but the staff helped us understand what we needed to do. My grandson had a rather pricey pizza, my husband a large salad, and I had the quadrati - a fresh made ravioli in a light lemon butter sauce with pistachios. This was sublime - the pasta was amazingly light and the sauce so delicate. The only downside to our meal was that my dish did not arrive until 10 minutes or so after the others, and only then when we were able to get someone to check on it. I was about ready to give up on it

Food pretty good.

By TravelingBlonde77 |

Food was pretty good. Service, not so much. Still not sure who our server was. We had to flag down whoever walked by and sometimes they never came back. Liked the salads.

Pizza and Pasta

By AdamsDouglas |

Had gnocchi with tomato sauce and smoke ricotta, house made ravioli with local ricotta, spinach, lemon butter and pistachio, and pizza with cherry tomato, arugula, shaved parmigiano Reggiano®, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil from Sorrento. Afterwards we went downstairs to the fresh gelato.

A delight in Eataly - great atmosphere and really good food

By 7potato |

Having visited Eataly in the day, we made a bee line back the following day to try out the Pizza & Pasta restaurant. Although busy, we got a table quickly and all had pasta dishes. My crab linguine was great. Partner had Quadrati ravioli (with local ricotta, spinach, lemon butter and pistachio). Wandered around Eataly afterwards and treated ourselves to speciality cakes which we took out and ate on the benches overlooking the Flatiron Building on a wonderful summer's evening. Memorable.

Delish food, reasonably priced

By Norjeff2 |

The first thing you need to know about this restaurant, is it's in Eataly. It gets very busy during the holiday times. When you enter you need to go to the back of Eately in order to get online to put your name on the waitlist for dinner. They do not take reservations. Once you've placed your name on the list, they will text your phone when a table is ready. We were told an hour and 20 minute wait and it wound up being a little less than an hour. We did go on the earlier side 520 and were surprised that the wait wait was so long. The shop itself is very crowded and while you wait but you can look around. However, there are a tremendous amount of people that will bump into you. The food itself was great. I had the lasagna which was made with fresh pasta and it was absolutely delicious. My wife had one of the two pumpkin ravioli dishes and she said it was sweet and delicious. My younger son had the fresh made gnocchi and thought it was excellent. We ordered garlic bread ahead of time and it was just OK. The garlic bread was five thin slices of bread and it had a lemon taste to it. Flavorful and different but not what I would've expected for garlic bread. The pasta was delicious. My son's only complaint was that he felt the portion sizes were too small. Otherwise, they thought the dishes were excellent. It was a fun experience in a lively area with delicious pasta. Next time I plan on trying the individualized pizzas. Also, service was very good.

Great pizza

By BillL64 |

Great thin crust pizza in the Eataly store. While the pizza is about 12 inches the crust is so thin that you can easily finish it. I had the CAPRICCIOSA and it was outstanding. They serve alcohol.

So fresh. So delicious. Perfect portions. Great service.

By crapschick |

Eataly is a crazy place in itself with so many amazing options, not just with restaurants, but cheeses, breads, gelato, Italian desserts, etc. I took 2 clients from out of town to La Pasta La Pizza tonight and it was delicious. Initially they told us it would be a 30 minute wait but it was actually 5 minutes. Our waiters gave us great advice and we ordered a ton of food but the portions were not oversized so it worked out perfectly. To start with we tried a margherita pizza which could not have tasted fresher. It was small enough to eat as an appetizer. We also ordered the caprese, salami plate as well as the cheese plate to start and again - perfect portions. Not too much. The caprese was unbelievably fresh but it could have used a few more tomatoes. A lot of cheese and few tomatoes, but sooooo delicious. I ordered the tagliatelle with short rib meat and parmagiano reggiano. The word "fresh" keeps coming up here because that's exactly how they prepare everything. It tasted like the most wonderful homemade pasta. The waiters were constantly checking on us but not in an annoying way - they really wanted to make sure it all tasted wonderful and we were happy. And it did. I'd come back in a second.

Very Good Margarita Pizza

By Layal10021 |

We stopped here for lunch as soon as they opened and easily found a table. But within 30 minutes, every table around us was packed and there was a line of people waiting. They don't take reservations, so get here early or be prepared to wait. The pizza is Neapolitan style, and they do a nice job preparing it with a charred, chewy crust and a tangy tomato sauce. We enjoyed the margarita version, though the Ventura (white pizza with mozz, ham, and arugula) was a little soggy. The prices were typical for NYC and the service was polite and efficient.

Great pizza and really great service

Busy lunchtime but seated and served quickly and with a friendly manner. Free bread and olive oil whilst waiting for food. Ask for a table facing out to get the best of the view.

Relaxed pizza

Eataly is a great venue, but it's nice to sit down for a meal slightly away from the busyness of the main area. Doesn't take reservations, but we turned up and gave our name and mobile number and they texted us when our table cam up. Enjoyed a good pizza and some nice wine.

Great pasta, great atmosphere

We ate here as a family on Sunday early evening. Great experience, excellent service and really good pasta. The restaurant was full with a buzzy atmosphere...would recommend.

Great pizza!

My first time eating here; the pizza was amazing! Food was great, very good service. My sister was with and she goes to Italy every year and said that the pizza we had at Eataly is like the pizza she had while in Italy.

Great find!

Eataly is such a neat place with all of the different restaurants and grocery area. We ate at La Pizza & La Pasta and it was delicious! It’s probably not the best for picky eaters because they don’t have traditional American ingredients- it’s definitely more authentic Italian food. You can put your name in and go walk around and they text you when the table is ready which is nice. We went to the rooftop bar Serra and had a drink while we waited which was nice.

Loved this place at the Eataly

Whether you are shopping for groceries, meats, italian products, breads, desserts or etc, etc, etc. This is a fantastic find ...

Extremely good pizza and pasta in a pleasant bustling market environment

By Rob A |

We came at lunchtime and had a pizza (with mushrooms, ham, olives and artichokes) and the spinach and ricotta ravioli. Both were superb. It amazes me how much flavour several good quality ingredients can give you! Good service in a very busy environment. Would definitely return!

Impressed

We decided on La Pizza La Pasta while visiting Eataly. It is located right inside Eataly and is very casual. The three of us ordered wine and shared a pizza as an appetizer. It was a white pizza that had arugula, prosciutto and grana padano cheese. Very good but it could have used a balsamic drizzle or something a little acidic. We each ordered a pasta dish as an entree. I ordered the linguini with crab which was excellent. They both ordered the tagliatelle with short rib Rahul which they also thought was excellent. We are tough customers since we are Italian. Would definitely eat here again. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

Fresh pasta

We had a party of 3 and got there at 6:15 on a Friday night. We were told we'd have a 25 minute wait, but after 5 minutes, we were called and seated. The waithelp are very knowledgable and friendly. The portions are just right! not super huge but perfect. I had the home made pasta with mint -- excellent! They give crusty bread and olive oil which was delish too. We left feeling very happy and blessed. You can also purchase uncooked pasta /ravioli from the deli counter to take home.

Disappointing

By pbuntarl |

The food did not live up to expectations. The pasta portions were small and the sauce was nothing special. They were out of the wine I wanted. The service was less than friendly. I won't be back

great food, great service

One of the best Italian restos I've been too. The food was amazing, the service was great. And we walked away meeting new friends from all the way from Australia!!!

Lunch w/ friends

Perfect for a quick sit down lunch. Service was attentive but never felt rushed. Food was fresh and very good. Our table shared meats and cheeses and enjoyed the crispy artichoke appetizer.

Standing ovation for the pizza chef!

OMG! How is it possible that on the other side of the ocean I get a pizza that DEFINITELY compares favorably to the temple of pizza: Da Michele's in Napoli! I have enjoyed hundreds of pizzas in Napoli itself and this was among the very very very very very best! The Margherita was absolutely perfect in every way, the cooking was sublime, the tomatoes were exactly the correct ones, the mozzarella could have fooled me into thinking it was bufala (it was actually cow's but excellent), and the crust... oh... the crust... just thinking about it makes me drool onto my keyboard. THE BEST PIZZA OUTSIDE OF NAPOLI, AND MAYBE EVEN IN NAPOLI! Give a standing ovation to the MASTER PIZZAIOLO!

La Pizza & La Pasta Flatiron

This visit the three of us shared the Quattro Formaggi pizza and the Salsicciotta pizza. Both were amazing. The 4 cheese was salty, creamy, gooey with a nice sharp bite from the Gorgonzola. The sweet Italian sausage was delicious with lots of mushrooms and mozzarella. The bread and olive oil was very good too, nice fruity flavor.

Fun Lunch!

We went to lunch late...about 2:15 pm and were seated without a reservation. It was our last day so we wanted New York pizza and to go through the Eataly. Two for one! It was busy and the tables are crowded together, but the food was very good. We both ordered pizza....I had a marguerita which was good, and my daughter had one without cheese, only the marinara sauce which she thoroughly enjoyed. A glass of house wine to add to the experience. Pizza crust is super thin so you can eat one by yourself. I am a light eater and easy finished. Don't forget to go through the Eataly market which you are there. Fun experience.

Must try!

The food was fabulous! We had the pizza as a appetizer. It was thin and crispy. We had the ragu lasagne and the maltagliati con salsicc. The pasta was delicious. We will go there again.

Very good, but high prices and small portions

By Kelly W |

I loved the atmosphere of La Pizza & La Pasta, but the pasta portions were quite small and very expensive. The food was very good and the wait staff was excellent, but I know you can get very good Italian food in NYC for a much better deal.

Amazing pasta, fun place

By Cliff and Patri... M |

Located inside Eataly, you can watch the pasta being made fresh as you wait for your food. Sit at the counter for the best view or snag a table. Either way, you meal will be amaziing. After dinner, spend some time walking around the rest of Eataly. This occupies a square block in Manhattan so there is a lot to see.

The best ravioli I've ever eaten!

By Heather H |

My mom and I shared the Ravioli di Zucca and the La Stella Pizza and they were both excellent. The ravioli was actually some of the best I have ever had and the staff was all extremely nice and attentive. We will return.
