Mediocre customer service

By Chmpgnrose |

This SoHo Lauree location appears similar to the Midtown East location of Victorian elegance afternoon tea parlor. The bright vivid colors of macarons enlightens the spirit and renews hope for optimism. This review shifts the focus of the visit for the experience rather than for the goods or products of this business. The staff appears to fend a very dismissive approach towards customers and stolid in a very unwelcoming demur as I never received a "welcome to Laduree Soho" or "hi, good afternoon, how may I help you today?" Many of the staff congregating by the counter were heavily engrossed in the work and were either too blind to notice or too arrogant to take heed of a customer's presence standing opposite the counter. By the power of observation there were no smiles and employee morale plateau which fends a very negative energy for customers. I would not bother to dine-in for afternoon tea. After work on a Monday evening I needed something to ease my mind and decided for French macarons to whisk me away from the perils of reality. Upon payment I was not received with "thank you for your purchase or your visit" either which is leaves a very negative impact. The negative Yelp reviews are, indeed, true with their negligent and malice customer service and bad defective products. Green box Napoleon 6 pcs - $21 Rose petal, chocolate, raspberry, vanilla, passion fruit, lemon The macarons appeared broken ends and rather stale left over by day's end. The green box is a very sturdy secured shipping box during my travels, but the edge endured broken pieces.

Wonderful brunch

By A 1264 |

This was possibly our fourth visit to Laduree in SoHo for brunch and it was equally as charming as the previous visits! If possible, try the garden seating- it is quite lovely! The Eggs Benedict and French Toast are personal favorites on the menu. If you have the time, I recommend selecting the bottomless mimosa option and lingering over several rounds. I am not usually a macaron lover, but you can’t deny the macarons at Laduree are the best in the city. It is clear the true macaron fans know this little secret as they line up to make their selections which come beautifully packaged in ever changing boxes!

great happy hour

By X375IEelizabethg |

Great happy hour specials here. Lovely setting outside but shielded from the street. Good food, as well.

Cold eggs Benedict & poor service

By Mark L |

We had pretty high expectations but even though the restaurant was only partially occupied the service seemed overwhelmed. We received most of our food before coffee and juice was served. The eggs were cold. Ambiance is nice, high estrogen kind of place. But very small tables. Meh.

Not Paris

By stacey p |

Visited Laduree on our recent trip to NY and perhaps we are spoiled by the Laduree in Paris but this doesn’t really compare. To be fair, without pinning it against the one in Paris it’s a 3 star. We had breakfast which was enjoyable. My kids got the brioche French toast which got mixed reviews, 1 loved it while the other didn’t. I got the egg white omelette with spinach and goat cheese. Although I am pretty sure the spinach was frozen and not fresh, it was still pretty good. The disappointment here were the croissants and the macarons. The glazed walnut croissant and the salted caramel macaron from Laduree in Paris is something you will dream about forever. The ones in SOHO just couldn’t compare. I assumed it would be the same recipe so not sure if it is different or just the difference in ingredients in the states compared to Europe but these were just ok. The fact that 4 macarons still sit on my counter 2 days later with 2 kids and a husband should say it all. We couldn’t wait to visit Laduree in NY to bring us back to Paris but it just reminded us that we weren’t there.

Lovely special occasion treat!

By Roving63065766936 |

We ate out on the patio, which was lovely. The wait staff was very friendly, if a little disorganized. The food was delicious, the coffee was some of the best coffee I've ever had, elegantly presented and the desserts were heavenly. It was definitely pricey, but a special treat. We would definitely go back.

Ideal place

By Claude Sonmez |

For breakfast or a light lunchmy favorite place in New York. The place is cosy and there is a gorgeous patio for summer time. The food is excellent and the patisserie outstanding. The service is perfect: kind and professional. Do not miss it.

Surprising oasis in Soho

By German B |

You walked in through the storefront on West Broadway and a beautiful, Old World dining room opens up in front of you, and then beyond that a wonderful outdoor patio! It's truly an oasis in Soho, NYC! We enjoyed a breakfast of croissants with jam and butter, their Omelette Laduree (3 eggs, mushroom, cheese & tomato), Financier cake toasted nicely, eggs over easy and seasonal fruit. The coffee was excellent, as was the food and service. Such a lovely setting, and then afterwards we bought their fantastic macarons (delicate and delicious! I recommend the pistachio highly!) A really nice (although slightly pricey) experience.

Wonderful

By rdventuri |

Such a wonderful treat! Service and food were superb. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather and cherry blossom trees. Will definitely return to this location when back in the city.

The manager is horrible

By Michelle J |

The manager is horrible. I came during a weekday non prime time. A few moments after I got there he sat another table next to me even though the whole place was empty. So I moved. Then he sat the next party directly next to me again. Either he is malicious or is missing common sense. Sure if your restaurant is full I get it. But it’s not and I moved because I was requesting space. Food was average. Go enjoy a better patisserie and better food. This is much overhyped.

NO TEA??

By Threegirlsonthego |

We made a special trip to SOHO today for our favorite Parisian Tea House. Upon being seated for afternoon tea, we were informed that there was NO TEA available. The “tea machine” was broken and it would be 2-3 hours until it was fixed. Perhaps I misunderstand how tea is made, but I have always just heated water...? Additionally, despite the fact that we arrived near the beginning of afternoon tea service, they were out of the sandwich portion of the tea. Again, tea time sandwiches are not a difficult creation. We are very dissapointed that one of our favorite places in the city was unable to provide service today. While we are in town for 3 more days, I doubt we will make the effort to return. I have only given two stars due to the lovely macarons which they did have in stock.

Very Fancy

By Luke P |

Went here with friend who recommended it. Laduree is known for their macarons. The macarons were very good but I enjoyed their sorbet ice cream. I had the raspberry sorbet and it was the best I’ve tasted. They have food as well, seemed like bite sized plates. Will try next time. The interior was very elegant, like a high tea type of restaurant. You can also by their desserts to go they have a shop in the front of the restaurant.

Great atmosphere, marginal meal

By MarlaToronto |

The service was adequate but the menu was limited and very expensive! The outside area was lovely and tempting but the experience was not worth the famed Parisienne name.

Dream come true

By MEG |

We’ve had the most Beautiful experience at Laduree NY & Beverly Hills location. I had the Rose lychee ispahan macaroon in both locations in the East and west coast (they were equally amazing). Had two different types of coffee and food in the NY location it was good but the portion sizes are very small prepare to have another meal shortly after but the quality and experience in my opinion is worth it.

Exceptional Lunch

By 495douglast |

This restaurant was recommended to us by a restaurant owner we know in Coconut Grove. We were in Manhattan and made a reservation for lunch. With great weather we sat in the garden, which is totally shaded by beautiful trees. Our waitress recommended the "Dish of the Day," which was Cod Fish over spinach. With some wine we enjoyed the Cod Fish, which turned out to be the best Cod I have ever had and one of the best fish dishes I had in many years. We finished with a Fraisier 2017 and espresso. The meal was an exceptional lunch, together with great, friendly service. For anyone going to Manhattan this is a stop you must make for an exceptional meal.

Girls lunch in the garden

By Valerie E |

We had an amazing experience and loved the environment and felt like a celebrity in soho you never know who will show up. We were not rushed and the staff were very attentive to detail

Beautiful patio

By Ferros66 |

We went for dessert. The patio is just beautiful. The pastries and tarts are fresh. Nice for a spring afternoon

Meh, average breakfast

By Olga H |

We have visited Ladurée for breakfast in three different countries. This one was disappointingly average. Eggs Benedict could have been decent, but instead of a poached egg, the benedict was topped with hard-boiled eggs. Never seen anything like it, especially in a fancy restaurant. It was unimpressive cuisine at the expected Laduree (aka: high) prices. Will avoid this location in the future.

Good selection, service is indifferent and frankly rude

By SR@NYC |

Great selection of macarons. The faux French speakers at the front counter are not very adept, can’t count or take orders. Hopefully the macarons are not made with little care - they seem good.

Frenchy macarons and more

By Salma A |

This french brand is quite good when it comes to pastries and macarons! A bit expensive though... Ladurée..

Always a Neighborhood Gem

By globaltravelkid |

The Big 3s: Ambience: lovely French Service: busy Food: always stellar like Paris, even w/american butter and flour High Points: the Palmier, Diana at the front Low Points: always a long queue for the toilets Unique Points: 4 separate areas from front to back garden

Very pricey and menu unclear.

By L Marie J |

We had a nice welcome and was seated at our table. The restaurant has a French old style setting. We came for breakfast/lunch and the menu had a very good selection of courses. Unfortunately our choice of a classic Quiche Lorraine was a disappointment. The plate consisted in a very small piece of quiche, salad and a lot of fries on the side (there was no information about the fires or salad in the menu). I would really preferred more quiche as this was what I had ordered. Luckily we had excellent tea to drink, served from a silver pot.

A piece of Paris in NY

By Luis Otarola |

yes, crowded, understaffed, but so are most extra popular food joints.Their flagship product, the macaroon, is what I beleive daws crowds in, as they are ,undeni able a piece of Paris pastries in U.S. soil. We were lucky enough to get a table for 2 (we were 3 and had to share a chair)and wait for ever for service, get cold “hot chocolate” but left with a smile on our faces with our box of goodies.

They don't know the difference between dairy free & lactose free

By IslandzGirl |

My daughter made a reservation for girls day out. We had 2 servers who thought lactose free was the same as dairy free, which would have sent my daughter to the hospital. A manager finally got involved which helped. Macaroons are flown in daily from Paris and were great, enjoyed the choice of flavors Their french toast was great.

Disappointing and overpriced

By Stryker |

We have been here many times and it is always hit-or-miss. We came today to celebrate my birthday and left annoyed and frustrated. The begin, the hostess did not even make eye contact and was not welcoming at all. Very aloof and rude. My wife and I love their cappuccinos and ours both came out lukewarm. Not high-maintenance "not hot enough" but lukewarm. We asked they be redone and when they came out the second time they were exactly the same - lukewarm. Server never came back to check to see how they were, and we didn't exactly want to send something back a second time, so after the first two sips we literally drank cold cappuccinos. When the food came out, my wife's Eggs Benedict was barely warm and the hollandaise was stone cold. My daughter requested her omelette crispy well done and it was not. Also, the servers do not bring out the food so you have to wait or try to flag down your server to fix any issues. I also hate when food comes out and they auction off your dishes, "who had the quiche??" as they set things down in front of the wrong person. My wife's Eggs Benedict came out the second time and the food was warmer but the hollandaise was again completely cold. My son and I had already finished eating and by the time my daughter's omelette came out my wife was finished. We ate in three shifts - another pet peeve. The server never came back to check on anything until we had finished eating so no chance for warm hollandaise. The server and another staff member did try to turn things around with a birthday macaroon and a candle, which was nice but I did not think taking two cappuccinos off the bill and providing a 35% discount was enough to remedy all the issues we had. Even after the discount and relatively small portions, our bill for four was still $100. At this price point, both the service and the food must be so much better. And no surprise, the hostess said nothing to us as we left. We won't be returning.

Great French toast

By Zahra Z |

Had the rose and raspberry French toast here with an Americano coffee. It was hands down the best, fluffiest French toast of my whole life. Loved every last bit. A generous amount of raspberry coulis to go with it and a bit of rose whipped cream. The americano was tasty, but I wish it was a bit more.

Beautiful space but the service is weak for a luxury brand

By Quills G |

I was amazed by how big this Laduree was. I truly enjoyed the design but the service was poor. We waited a long time. I ordered the peppermint tea but instead I received another tea. I knew it was the wrong one but wanted to see how the staff would handle it. They came over and asked if I liked and tea and that was it. I Was not impressed. I think they knew they made a mistake but didn't offer to change it. The Macarons were excellent of course.

Soho French

By AJAX6965 |

Laduree serves tasty French food in the back which looks like Marie Antoinette’s boudoir. Pate was rich and plentiful, too much so for my incipient gout. Vol Au Vent likewise. The Mac and cheese was perfect. Wines delicious and excellent friendly service with many suggestions as to which dishes were favored. Don’t miss the chocolate gateau.

Fancy Fancy Fancy! Wonderful if you want a fancy high tea experience

By Erin H |

First of all this place is incredibly gorgeous and they offer really the best quality pastries, macarons, other Foods, and tea and coffee. Their prices are quite High, and I feel like it's pretty trendy. I have to say that a friend of mine enjoyed it a beautiful tea together there. If you want the Elegance and perceived cache of a place like this, this is the one to go to. You are paying extra for the fanciness and cache. It's something that some people enjoy and are willing to pay for While others not. It can get a little crowded in terms of ordering anything seated. But you can always order Bakery items, Coffee and Tea from the front of the restaurant to take with you.

rude hostess

By daniela v |

The bad rating is thanks to your hostess, bad-faced, bitter and in a very bad mood. If you work in customer service, you are supposed to know that it is a requirement to be friendly to the customer. she was very rude to us

Bring the glory of Lafuree back.

By Arlene S |

Prior to COVID, all I would say is wonderful things about Laduree. I would talk to everyone about how classy it was. It’s truly heartbreaking to see the deterioration of this restaurant. My daughter and I, truly loved Laduree. Its style, classy ambience, wonderful menu, incredible tea selection, and the quality of service was wonderful and truly something to write about. However, now, I’m in dismay. If you never been to Laduree in its glory days, you have nothing to compare it to. You experience now with a cup of salt. Owners of Laduree, please please bring back your quality and excellent service back. Thank you for reading this truthful post. I pray management gets off there high horse and makes the changes to bring Laduree glory back.

Poor

By theoneandonlyArnold |

Bit confused staff where on takes the order and 3‘ later anther one comes to check if you need anything. Despite almost empty it takes ages to get a drink served.

French and Fabulous

By mkay |

Delicious authentic French meal in a quiet area of New York. My daughter and I were visiting and tried Laduree for brunch. The service was excellent (Tristan was our server and did a great job), the food was good, coffee was great, and the atmosphere/decor were perfect. I opted for the bread basket and my daughter had french toast. We shared and they were both tasty. We will certainly try Laduree when visiting New York again! The weather was beautiful, so we were able to dine outside in their garden area-another perk!

Classic Favorite

By TheLuxuriousTraveler |

Ladurée has amazing Macarons and it’s one of my favorites, but this review is for their dining which I absolutely love. Let me start by saying that with all the “instagram” famous places that are being posted on social media, especially in New York, choosing a place for breakfast/brunch/dinner now means checking out these new instafamous restaurants and we start to forget the classic places to be. I admit to be guilty of that! We came here for lunch on my birthday week on Dec (we’ve been here for dinner a couple of times before and always had great experience as well) and ordered the Croque Monsieur, Omelet Ladurée, and Mini Beef Burgers. For drinks we got a couple of cappuccinos and a hot chocolate. Everything was delicious, I forgot to add but you must order the truffle potatoes they are our absolute fav! The croque monsieur isn’t your typically croque monsieur and the mini burgers were also surprisingly good for lunch dish. Cappuccinos we’re done right and the hot chocolate of course was made with real chocolate and was pretty rich. The service was great as always. The attention to detail from food to service is what you would expect. The ambiance and decor is adorable. It’s a great place for business, family meals, or a nice place to meet friends and have a great time. Definitely recommend it.

Great place and food; terrible service

By CHG_Brasilia |

We were a couple for brunch on a Thursday. The place is gorgeous, usual Laduree style + beautiful outdoor / garden tables and a bar. Good food as expected. Nevertheless, the service was terrible. The place was not crowded at all (no one inside and barely six tables with couples outside) and still they managed to take forever to bring our order (I mean, the order arrived, but sadly it was wrong and we had to order again what they had forgotten). Basically we spent half of our time waiting for the check. Staff (and they are plenty) just disappears and costumers are left waiting. Too bad that in the US tipping is mandatory in restaurants. If we were in Europe, no way I would have left a cent for the type of service we received. They might as well keep living out of Laduree’s fame and delicious pastries, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

VISIT TO LADUREE

By wallacejain |

Restaurants become popular either for their cuisine or ambiance or location or value for money. But some of those who become famous, continue to cash in merely on their snob value. Laduree restaurant comes highly recommended, is well laid out in colonial style, but is very much like a hot air balloon. The place was so cold that it reminded me of crowded eating joints where they want you to eat quickly and get out so that waiting customers can come in. they served us two bite size pastry and a pot of tea for about $25 each. Though the ratio of waiters to customers seemed high, service definitely needs improvement. It took us considerable time to even get the check. Place is not for those who don’t want to drop names.

Amazing per usual

By Ava K |

Laduree is a classic that never disappoints. We made a reservation for early morning brunch and sat outside before it got too hot. Service was fast and nice. The French toast with rose whipped cream is truly amazing. The desserts and baked goods as always are incredible. This place and its aesthetic never disappoints!

Pistachio Macaroons!

By Sivan M |

The line can generally be long so be prepared to wait at least 10 mins before getting served. The macaroons can be a great gift to a friend or family as they are really soft and not that sweet.

Don’t bother with the rancid “nougat”

By Nicola E. |

I ask my friend to bring me some nougat!! She gave me a bar of a greenish paste that was everything but nougat! And it was rancid!!

Beautiful place!

By Larisa H |

The food was spectacular! I had salmon Benedictines eggs and late. The place outside makes you feel relaxed. The guy who serve us was so kind and respectful

Lovely lunch in a beautiful setting

By tojopop |

This is such a pretty place to have lunch. A bit precious perhaps but that’s the charm. Anytime you can get even a hint of Paris anywhere -go for it. We stuck to lighter fare so we had room for the cookies! Soups and salads were delicious and filling. Service was excellent. Do leave with a box of macaroons in hand. The garden is an oasis in mad Soho.

Happiest birthday celebration at Laduree, SoHo!

By jeannieR993 |

Our family celebrated special birthdays at Laduree! Laduree is a perfect setting for our celebration. Truly a memorable feast, thank you to Iskra and staff, for a delicious dessert brunch complete with complimentary Kir Royal topped with rose petals- truly elegant! Our macaroons were so delicious, unforgettable to be sure. Thank you Iskra for your gracious care and being our photographer extraordinaire🥂you made our celebration unforgettable 💐

Luxury Macarons

By MTMKH |

We have visited this setting during our stay in NY. It looks very chique, and the macarons were delicious but the service was NOT as it should be

Reports of the awful experiences are warranted

By Flint34 |

1. We showed up for a reservation and were told they didn’t have a table for us. Twenty minutes after our reservation they finally come up with a table for us. 2. We waited fifteen minutes after being seated before our waitress came to the table. 3. The dinner menu will allow you to have a sandwich with eggs, but not avocado toast with eggs. Just silly. 4. They were out of croissants, which I understand but still was disappointing. 5. The fries were the best thing we had. 6. Lobster roll and club weren’t very good. 7. The macarons were fine. Raspberry was the best. 8. Lastly, after the poor service the waitress asks you if you want to leave a tip while she runs you credit card. It’s just awkward. 9. The restaurant doesn’t care because of their reputation, but this was an abysmal experience.

Just be sure you'll be sitting in the back garden

By TalalQatar |

I will be honest with you There is nothing distinctive in this branch from the rest of the restaurant branches except the back garden Unfortunately, if your visit is not on a day when the park is open, the visit will be very normal.

Stumbled into Parisian Heaven

By Carrie B |

I was trying to find a local afternoon tea parlor, but this was an absolute delightful twist. Not only did we have tea, we had a rose latte, mock tales, cappuccinos to go with our desserts, and let’s talk about our breakfast. My friends vegan omelette was tasty and fluffy. My raspberry French toast was just sweet enough and so light, we devoured every single thing we ordered. The service and the decor were fabulous. I cannot wait to return for my next visit!

Classically authentic French food and ambiance, budget-friendly.

By RGSOUNDF |

Often one hears the reproach expressed by the sophisticated observers that Ladurée is a touristy spot. It is indeed quite popular, not in the least due to a possibility to sit inside and to savor the elegant French ambiance while just ordering a few affordable pastries with tea or coffee. But as the French say, "n'importe", who cares if the final product and the net result are great? Ladurée, founded in Paris during the Second Empire over 150 years ago, sticks to its venerable old traditions. One won't find on their menu modernly intricate fusion dishes. But those available, both in the sweet and savory sections, are the epitome of why the French cuisine has conquered the world. Simple, high quality ingredients, honed cooking and presentation skills, the eternally great French fare. We had a Saturday lunch there. Make sure you secure an OpenTable reservation. The dining area is a classical Parisian Louis-Napoleon interior. Many servers are native French; the service is efficient and polite. The food was great, nothing better to wish for one's lunch. Our appetizers, Salmon with Caviar and Croustillants de Crabe (small crab cakes) were perfect and so were the main courses, if not better. Our Poulet Rôti (Organic Roasted Chicken, Mushrooms Duxelles and Parmesan Gnocchi) got an A+. Great experience overall. Highly recommended.

lovely place to spend an afternoon

By johnnikson7 |

best macaroons in the city, very tasteful and fulfill with flavor.. I really enjoyed my time there with my friends, we had it desserts and coffee, the garden is really so beautiful. Some improvement in service is necessary

Very Poor Management but great macaroons

By sjaz |

This is a beautiful upscale place to have an elegant pastry/coffee in Soho. I love the Frenchy decor and delicious macaroons especially the pistachios, however, the management is very poor and not to NY standards. It is obvious that the staff is not well trained or are not well paid! I had friends from out of town that I asked them to join me at that location for a traditional seasonal french pastry. I called to make a reservation and confirming that they have that pastry. The lady who answered the phone told me that I don't need a reservation and there are plenty of seats at 4:30 in the afternoon. I also asked her if they had the Galette des Rois, a traditional almond cake that is made on January 6th and she confirmed. We got there on time, but the reception lady who had an attitude told me that she doesn't know who told me that they didn't need a reservation and they are booked and the next available table would be in 1 hour!!! We stayed in line to buy the traditional almond cake from the front of the coffee shop but they were out of it !!! We left and got a text 50 minutes later that our table was ready!!!! I will never go back to that location.

Loved the place

By Лилия А |

We went to laduree today and it was a great experience ! The ambience is so nice , food is good . Our waiter was so attentive . We forgot to ask his name but he is young Venezuelan man . He was on top of everything , helped us with the menu and food . Mushroom risotto , salmon avocado toast and deserts were great ! Thank you ! We will be back

Well.. I expected more

By MeeSh |

Well.. I expected more, the eggs Benedict was very average.. in fact over cooked, the omelet was also average.. Very slow service But still best deserts ever

A very SAD memory of my recent visit!

By Shirazi35 |

We were there exactly one week ago; and from the moment we entered we felt a very unfriendly ambience! Host as well as our server seemed to be very harsh and argumentative! At one moment it became so bad that I had to lecture our server to act a little bit friendlier! He was not willing to hear me or listen to other people around our table! Having said that I loved the tea with Orange Blossom scent as well as the Rose Patel Ice-cream, which both of them brought me back the taste and flavor of Persian Saffron Rosewater Ice-cream as well as Persian black tea with Orange Blossom! My suggestions to you go for the above ice-cream or another Persian themed dessert item ... Ispahan smooth rose flavored macaron biscuit! Believe me they are amazing!!!!!

Birthday highlight

By victOriah60750 |

I just returned from a trip from Seattle to New York with my daughter for Her birthday. Laduree was on her must do list and it was the highlight of her trip. We went for brunch and the food was amazing the raspberry cream is heavenly. My daughter said it was the best macchiato she had ever had and she used to be a barista so she knows her coffee. The ambience is amazing and the service was not only impeccable but so friendly. The manager Fiurella was the best hostess to us wand couldn’t have been Nicer or more friendly. She is a real gem. The Birthday macaroons were delicious and the bottomless mimosas were a great deal and werenit all orange juice. I had never been to a Laduree but my daughter went to the location in Paris and said this far exceeded that experience. Thank you Laduree for making my daughter’s birthday so special and the highlight of her trip.

Bad service

By Lia S |

Made reservation at 4, yet when we came they said the kitchen was almost close and some order they didn’t deliver cause they said they were ready for dinner. They should’ve told us when we made reservation and they didn’t say anything

Good place for tea and dessert

By Patricia B |

Not a great place for lunch, we went without a reservation (it’s better to have one) so they sat us in these tiny tables...I had eggs Benedicte and my daughter had the mini-burgers. She really liked them, although two people can eat from that order. For dessert she had the candy limited edition sweet and she loved it. The hostess and the waitress were Russian... I kept wondering where are the Americans working for the restaurant industry...everyone in NY now seems to be a foreigner!! Go for tea and dessert...we think it’s a better deal!

Amazing

By dilara a |

This place has a great romantic atmosphere. Very chic decoration and tasteful food. I really enjoyed every bite of my breakfast. And it has reasonable price.

Really Fab ;-)

By FoodieTraveller |

I’m surprised to see mixed reviews , we had a fantastic lunch. Had no plans so we’re a walk in, the hostess helped split a table so we could dine, the server was really friendly ! Gourmet avocado toast and onion soup was fab !!! Really really good, couple of glasses of wine (maybe 4 can’t really remember the entire day as we had a few drinks as didn’t have the kids ha ha ) . Unique place in terms of design and layout, obviously attracts a rather diverse eclectic and well heeled clientele (and us lol) Will return for sure ! Didn’t even try the macrons but lots were being served so guess they are really good ! Ps ... you will need to book, we just got lucky

Faux Parisian experience, buy a pastry and go eat on a bench, it will be more enjoyable and not cost $100

By servicecomesfirst |

We went to Laduree’s for Sunday brunch. It is named after a famous pastry shop in Paris. The interior is very elegant and special. However……While the pastries and breads were fresh and excellent, the uneven service made this a disappointing meal. My wife ordered the Champs des Lysee breakfast: tea, juice, pastries, toast, jam, scrambled eggs and fruit. At $33, she was expecting a sumptuous platter. Well, her eggs arrived on a tiny dessert plate, no garnish, half cold. Then…nothing. No fruit and no toast. When the waiter returned, he seemed puzzled when asked where the rest of her meal was. After a long wait, the missing items arrived at random. Scattered across the table with no cohesiveness or presentation. Weird. My omelette was just ok, as I had better at the local diner near my hotel. My daughter did enjoy her French toast. Oddly, no waiter ever appeared to refill my coffee. The problem with this restaurant is the head waiter was doing everything, and the other wait staff seemed clueless. One of the bus boys was wearing a black puffy jacket: a parka basically. Like, guys, come on, it’s supposed to be a Parisian experience. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Precious French Gem in Soho NYC

By jeannieR993 |

My family enjoyed a perfect Parisian brunch at Laduree Soho NYC. The ambience is perfect ! After visiting France several times, I can tell you that Laduree is a perfect venue for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. This restaurant is beautifully appointed. Waitstaff, especially Iskra, is most professional and attentive to your every desire. Jeff, the GM, greets every patron with a warm smile and personal attention. The Croque Monsieur and Avecado Toast is supreme! We enjoyed Aperol Spritz and great French wine! The chocolate and raspberry croissants were divine! Our desserts were most exquisite!! The beautiful garden setting and outdoor bar area make the dining experience most excellent!! Make Laduree a must on your dining experience list- you will happy you did!! Till we meet again- Arevoire !!!

Fresh macarons are key

By 8675309bergman |

Never really liked macarons until I had a fresh one from here. Split the quiche with a friend and it was quite good. Brought a box of 18 home for family. Will visit again when in NYC.

Excellent dinner

By kldwfu |

We very much enjoyed our wonderful dinner and the service was great. We enjoyed a starter of burrata, and then three entrees and desserts to go

Take away cups

By Benjamin |

I was already at many different laduree coffees all over the world. This one is basically okay but when you‘re only in the mood for coffee or tea and desserts you‘re only allowed to sit in the front not in the restaurant. Thats totally okay but you get your coffee and tea in a plastic cup and the maccarrons only on a napkin. No style, it‘s the feeling of a cheap take away.

Delicious Brunch with the Hubby

I have been dying to eat at this location since they opened and they did not disappoint. The space is beautiful and I was sad it was so cold bc their courtyard looks gorgeous. The food was delicious and their servers were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Customizable Valentine’s Day Macaroons

By AMelendez93 |

I am a huge fan of Ladurée, and love everything about the brand/what it stands for. I had visited the Soho location last week and noticed an advertisement of customizable Valentine’s Day macaroons and thought It be a great gift to my fiancé. I had called the number provided and no answer. I called multiple times during the week at regular business hours as I was told it takes 2 business days to process the order. I was leaving to Florida and wanted to place an order, pick up, and take with me on the airplane. (I am aware of the Miami location but was not traveling to that area in FL). After multiple attempts I had sent out an email and didn’t get a response. I became frustrated and disappointed because now I was becoming anxious that I wouldn’t have been able to deliver that message of my love with Ladurée’s touch. Constantly checking my email and calling over and over, still no answer, I had even seen on Ladurée’s Instagram page the advertisement and tried reaching out through their website link and still nothing. I finally went in person to the Madison Avenue location because now I was turned off at Soho and wanted to speak to someone. I went in and told the Supervisor what had happened and the whole staff was very lovely from start-finish. The supervisor reassured me that he would let upper management know of this because it’s not fair to me and to other customers that the sales team was handling this issue. The supervisor had given me a business card and when I looked at the card, the number that was given to me and email address was completely different from the one Soho had given me, which had lost for words. So I was sending out emails and leaving messages to a number that was inaccurate ? This is not how Ladurée should operate. Ladurée has potientlly lost business because of this error and needs to be addressed. I still purchased many pastries from Ladurée it won’t have that personal touch that I was looking for. I had also emailed the Sales team via Ladurée website to inquire about hosting an event for my Bridal Shower come Spring 2020. I never got answer for that either which is also disappointing. I had also emailed the area manager who is responsible for both locations Madison Avenue and Soho, 5 days later still no response. I am in disbelief and absolutely disgusted.

Lovely treats, Terrible service

By Hannah L |

My friend and I had a reservation to have some treats and coffee in the outdoor garden space. The space itself is beautiful - removed from the busy street and surrounded by gorgeous greenery and lush trees. However, our service was anything but great, especially since we were expecting high standards from such a luxury "chain". Upon sitting down, our waiter asked if we'd like sparkling water. No option for anything else. I said, no thanks, and he proceeded to bring us a $13 CAN bottle of water which he opened before even asking us. When we said we did not order this, he proceeded to be extremely rude and charge us anyways. This turned into a bit of a debacle but it did end up being taken off our bill. We ordered 2 Macaron, and 2 Macaron sorbet sandwiches with tea and coffee. I did not receive my mint tea until we had finished eating, which was about 45 min into our experience. When we went to pay, he said their whole machine system was down and we had to pay by cash (which we had minimal of) or writing down all our credit card information to be left on the table (how unsafe!!). We recommend going to the Laduree in Madison where there is EXCELLENT service, more variety of macaron and still a little area to sit. Our experience was ruined by their rude and disorganized staff.

Great NYC Place

By jjs7676 |

We've been to Laduree Soho several times, especially for breakfast. It reminds us of the Paris location. In the warmer months, there is an outside treed courtyard that is very nice. I think the way they prepare the Eggs Benedict is extremely interesting and extremely tasty. This is my favorite item on the breakfast menu. Then, they let you pair it with a glass of champagne!!

Great space

By LAFAMILLEG11231 |

Wonderful transporting garden and delicious items to choose from. Clement is very charming and welcoming to all guests.

On Halloween or Any Time: a Wonderful Happy Hour Respite

By globaltravelkid |

People come for the sweets, then learn the food is good. But the new bar menu is to STAY for, and to COME for of its own merit. Ask for the Spritz with its own Macaroon, and stay for 3 more. In the courtyard, Inside. Anywhere. Julie and her team (ask if Guillaume is working--just on leave from Paris itself and you'll appreciate the service and charming accent) run a top-notch, Parisian-inspired event every day of the year.

Good food but service needs an upgrade

By Bhavna Darira Chesan |

We love laduree hence the 4 stars .... we have visited most of the laduree cafes in the world ... our new York experience wasn’t exactly the best .... firstly the service is extremely slow ... secondly they have too many unnecessary, invalid and senseless rules ... we ordered rose latte, macaroons and cakes from their cafe itself and were told this is considered as takeaway so we cannot sit there unless we sit outside and order food from their menu ... we were fine with that we went outside to sit and ordered some sandwiches with sides....we were waiting for our food patiently ... meanwhile we decided to drink our rose latte which was given to us in their take away cup but our server told us it was not allowed and we can order any other beverage from the menu but we cannot consume a hot latte sitting outside which is purchased from Laduree itself .... it made no sense at all to us ... it was a rainy day and there were just two tables occupied including mine and i was not allowed to sip on a hot beverage thanks to their bizarre rule ... anyways everything we ate was beyond delicious so no issues there ... for more reviews and food and travel related updates kindly follow us on instagram @ bhavna and shahaan ... thank you ...

Very nice outdoor setting. Food and tea are average. Long wait!

By Jacqueline V |

If you just need to get a nice picture and do not care about food quality or noise then it might be a good place to hang out. If you look for a nice calm place and good ambiance then it might be not a great choice at all. The outside is chaotic as it is in central Soho, long line for waiting at reception. Although we had reservation but they could not find the table to sit us in. We had to wait for another 20 min for them to kick out some people who spent longer time at the table than they supposed to. Very chaotic in the weekend! The indoor was noisy as well as outdoor. Tea got so cold when it got served. Cake are not as good as they used to be. Service was average as the place was so crowded and they did not have enough staffs. I would not come back again.

Excellent place

By Yosef L |

This French establishment offer you breakfast with croissant and other rolls even better than paris.nice selection of eggs dishes French toast in short very very good excellent service Very reasonably priced worth a visit

Macaroons!!!!!!!

By Tobias K |

This French style bakery / restaurant has out of this world macaroons. It is their stand out product and everybody comes for this. Exceptionally soft and fresh. They also have other desserts and such.

A bit of Paris in SOHO

By stevesottl |

What a lovely find. We wanted dessert after a nice lunch and decided to go French. Of all things we arrived just after France won the World Cup. The back courtyard is charming. The Macaron and Pastries are amazing.

Aweful service

By FrenchCactus |

As a Parisian visiting NYC, I was excited to see Ladurée had found a lovely location in Soho. I wanted to buy a box of macarons for a friend. The only thing the person attending to me said was "next in line" (with no smile). Wow. Rude!! You'd expect a whole other kind of service from this place. The next day, my friend wanted to take me to breakfast there. The terrace in the back is lovely but again, the service was terrible. We had to wait forever to get served and asked for the check 3 times. And besides, the food was nothing to write home about.

Classic place but needs an attitude adjustment

By Happy_on_the_road |

Very good food, fantastic (world famous) desserts, even the coffee is good. Place is so pretty. Service, especially hostesses, really could use an attitude adjustment - they are slow and uninterested. Waiters are OK and overworked and rushed. Owner must make a mint underpaying and understaffing a popular place but that only ruins the brand. Sometimes we say we do not feel like dealing with the BS at this place and skip it. When we go, we enjoy and it reminds us of trips to Paris (where service is efficient and polite).

Girls Day

By Wandering_Freee |

The cherry blossoms just bloomed and it was spectacular. The patio was great. The food was amazing as well as the desserts. We really enjoyed ourselves. They also just got there liquor license, so theres many drink options

Perfect birthday party

By Inga P |

We were celebrating my daughter's 9th birthday here!..We enjoyed every moment of our family get together. All ordered dishes were delicious and beautifully done.Thans!..

Same quality

By Renato T |

Same quality and taste as found in Paris. Very crunchy and delicious. Around $2,8 each macaron. Cozy and beautiful store. Nice desserts also.

Great Brunch

By chefpeppy |

Lovely restaurant that is smaller in size than the one in Paris but the food is very good and presented as lovely. We went on Sunday for brunch. They do get busy so reservations are recommended. Waitstaff was very good. Wonderful assortment of tea to choose from on the menu.

The garden is so tranquil

By matty-os |

We've been here before in the winter, so obviously sat inside, and had no idea there was a garden, but when we were in May and we discovered they had outdoor seating....The garden is so tranquil, beautiful cocktails, pastries and ice cream - the service is good and i'd say the price is very reasonable - we liked it so much we went again, later that week on our trip.

Worst service ever

By Beni P |

We went to the self service part, bought some macaroons and sat down at a table. It was completely dirty and asked if someone could clean up, said no that it was self service 🙄. When they brought the tea, the cup opened accidentally and fell on top of my pants. My wife asked if I was ok, if I had gotten burnt and the server was super rude, not apologizing saying it was an accident and that I had not gotten burnt that she had and she started yelling at my wife. We asked if someone could come clean the floor with the tea that had just fallen and said that no because it was self service. I’ve never seen such awful service at any self service spot let alone a place that charges a lot of money for a fancy pastry. They never apologized and just yelled at us as if we were to blame. Seriously one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had.

Best brunch ever!

By Naila A |

Had a wonderful time . The food and the service was 5 star, just amazing! Ordered egg Benedict’s , mini burger, crab cakes , eclair . Out of the world . Atmosphere was so warm and inviting . Must visit in soho .

Best macaroon I've ever eaten

By Gustavo T |

One of the best dessert restaurants in NY. The restaurant have a beautiful decoration, different rooms with unique ambiance and definitely it looks like a Parisien restaurant in Soho. This place is quiet and they serve the best macaroon that I've ever eaten. The menu have a lot of options (gluten-free and vegan options also) and it could be a little expensive but I feel comfortable with everything. The best option in Soho for desserts.

Fantastique!!

By E A |

Abolutely the best all over the world but specially here in Soho. The manager and the kind lady that took care of our scrumptious breakfast made our day. We are looking so much forward to visit them again. Highly recomended!

A French experience!!

By Dalia O |

What an amazing place. Such mouth watering options. All cakes and maccaroons look amazing. I had the chocolate cake in the pictures and the girls tried the ice cream, which is topped with a maccaroon cookie. Very strong flavors. Place was too crowded to sit in so we packed a box for take out.

The real macarons

By S R |

I previously knew Laduree only for its delicious macarons. But in this SoHo place you can also have breakfast or some drinks. It looks pretty fancy inside.

Afternoon Delight!

By Von H |

I love French food and I had heard so many great things about the desserts but I have to say it was a complete dining pleasure. From the minute my friends and I entered the beautiful space we were welcomed by the amazing staff with a smile. Every course was outstanding and the service was exceptional. George our Server was amazing. He was friendly and attentive. Jeff the manager greeted us and made sure we were well taken care of. I am already planning my next visit and I highly recommend everyone experience it. It was a pure delight.

Best macarons!

By Audrey |

This place is always a must for my family and I when visiting the city! I like this location a lot more than the one in Manhattan because it is larger and has more options. Of course this place has the best macarons and French pastries around! Also love the hot chocolate!

Come for the macarons, stay for the food.

By Patricia |

I had breakfast here during a short stay in NYC (brioche pain perdu with raspberry coulis) and both the service and the food make this a “must-do” for me. Try the sublime Canarino—a hot infusion of fresh ginger and citrus zests. Don't forget your macarons or other pastry on the way out!

Wonderful Lunch

By Elaine M |

Very good service and great food. Desserts are awesome. Is a treat to be at this restaurant. The Macaroons are their staple desserts. i went to the one in Paris and they are much friendlier here in NYC.

Soho Location - Worst Afternoon Tea in NYC

By LBoogieNY |

Went for a celebration of moms, table of 6. Service was extremely slow and disjointed. Waiter couldn’t manage his assigned tables effectively. Took 3 of our orders then went to service his other tables. Came back 15 minutes later to grab the rest of the orders. Waited an additional 20 before tea was served and it was warm at best. We were served croissants only and finger sandwiches in metal bowls as opposed to the tiered serving tray synonymous with afternoon tea service. Finger sandwiches were served wrapped in wax paper and were dry as if they were prepared and refrigerated from the day prior. Complained to the manager at this time about the overall service and quality of food and he provided additional sandwiches that were exactly the same quality. Our waiter’s shift ended during our service and we watched him walk out with his backpack and never handed off the service or say anything to us. The only good part was the deserts. Whole Foods makes better macaroons, though. What I didn’t appreciate is being forced to tip poor service because of my party size. Don’t waste your time or money. You deserve better. Management was basically useless.

One of the best pastry places

By M. Tawang Kirana |

Beautiful and a perfect place in spring time, because I love al fresco dining.. foods were delish, especially the pastries, but it should be expected based on the prices.. we ordered the eggs benedict salmon and bacon, Laduree omelette, various pastries, vanilla millefeuille and coffee lattes. So the pastries are still the best.

A Soho Destination

By Seeseej |

For a great brunch on a warm New York day, Laudere was a good choice. My son and I enjoyed the nice summer weather dining alfresco. Service is excellent, food is unmistakenly French and dessert is a must. Try the pistachio macaron with ice cream.

Lovely place, good vibes.

By MaayanLior |

We had excellent lunch at Laduree. Great service, tasty food, small dishes, fresh ingredients, variety of flavors. Best Macaroons in town! It’s better to book a table before your arrival. Lovely place!

Authentic Passively Racist French Experience

By sumaiya m |

If you are White or look White, then this a nice French pastry restaurant to be. However if you look like me (South Asian practicing Muslim female) prepare to experience passive racist behavior. For example initially we (my POC friend and I) reserved to be seated outside, however, it was 94 degrees, so we requested to be seated inside. Despite, having many empty tables inside they refused. After two one and a half hour of stay they asked us to pay our bills and leave because they were going close soon. We looked around and there were other customers who were told to leave. Food was great. Atmosphere was very French like including customer service exactly like how a Muslim girl with hijab would be treated in a French restaurant in France. Overall a very authentic French experience.

Sooooo French!

By misslee134 |

A colleague -- who grew up in Paris -- introduced me to Ladurée with a gift of delicious macarons that he purchased while on business in the City of Lights. I was so happy to experience the Ladurée charm in person in Soho. It was an impromptu decision and we were lucky to get seated quickly during the holidays. We enjoyed tea, a light meal and of course macarons for dessert!!!

Birthday Tea

By Kay S |

We enjoyed the tea service for our daughter's birthday. The staff was attentive, well informed on the menu, and the food was excellent.

BEWARE: racism amok

By Nayyara C |

This place is clearly RACIST. We waited patiently for someone to even acknowledge us, when walking through the door. After being ignored and finally checking in, the first girl (with blonde hair) told us someone would be out to take us to our table. The seating hostess (with the long dark brown hair) was acting fishy as soon as she saw us. She went back and forth a few times (ignoring us as well). After a second long wait we got seated at a table next to the door, leading to the courtyard. It was raining and there was a very cold draft. There were other seats available in warmer areas of the dining room, and outdoor heated tables (Which confuses me because we waited so long for our table to be available to sit) The waiter cut us off and dismissed us before we could even order drinks. We were both thoroughly disappointed since we made birthday reservations ONE MONTH in advance. First and last time I will ever visit. Don't go if you're a person of color and like to be treated with the same care and attention as white people. I would give this ZERO stars if I could.

Food good, forget the rest

By MCCCE |

Frequent the locations in Paris whenever we are there. Have been to Soho location a couple times in attempt to recreate that Parisean magic... The food is great. The service is ALWAYS terrible. Take note - when you are dining with a native Spanish speaker & the head of wait staff tells the servers in Spanish to put pressure on customers to move quickly (ummm we were the only ones there so turning over tables quickly was not necessary), it is rude. Then to even get service (water, dessert, etc), good luck. Place also with tattered & stained fabrics on furniture, dirty moldings, fingerprints on glass.

A must for everyone, although a bit expensive for most!

By Sylvia DrSoul Fernandez |

Such a lovely store/restaurant! Everyone should go in and get a coffee and some pastry for the fun/luxury of it!! Walked by it and couldn't help but stop! Delicious macaroons!!!

Macaron heaven

By Ma Nou |

If you love good quality macaron, then stop right now and go to this shop. All kinds of flavors and not the artificial cheap colors that other stores have. No, just normal natural colors. A French young gentleman that sells them... What else. This is it. The taste..... Pffff. You can wake me up for a Laduree macaron.

Beautiful place, delicious food and professional staff

By aprilkates11 |

Wonderful experience! A bit pricey, but food and drinks are so delicious, it’s worth it. And professional is if staff makes your feel like a VIP guest ) I had a dinner Roasted Cauliflower dish with aPassionfruit rum drink (I forgot it’s name) - it comes with a passionfruit macaron.

A hidden gem in Soho. Don't forget to visit their inner court

By PJRibadeneira |

If you are tempted to have a romantic meal in Soho, you should then visit Laduree. This traditional French restaurant respects its legacy and the great atmosphere of its Parisian headquarters. Although you can always buy their patisseries to go, try to visit their garden and have a coffee over there. It's magnifiscent!

Very mixed opinion.

By D A |

Average is the right term. In terms of breakfast, it was more than average, no fresh orange juice, which is regrettable; as for the service, average less less, unprofessional and unpleasant waiters, a Frenchman, the maître d'hôtel, I suppose was pleasant and efficient.

Thank You for Making My Birthday So Special

By Colleen F |

We went there on 9/1. It was my birthday. They made it my best birthday ever!!! We had the salmon, wine and desserts. The wine list is extensive. The staff is superior.

Charming spot

By Local_lass20 |

Nice for a drink and a bite to eat, nice garden with lots of shade. Good service. Expensive prices though.

Delightful

By susan859 |

Perfect space, friendly service, ambiance is just lovely. We only had time for tea and macaroons but they were accommodating and kind. Feels like a mini piece of Paris in NYC.

Little slice of Paris

By samanthajfindlay |

Eating here was like being back in Paris! The staff were all friendly but if you want a table...make a reservation!! They book up fast here! The food and service were top notch! Try the tea service...it’s to die for! Also, amazing hot chocolate!!

Classy, refined breakfast dining

By tms215 |

This is a formal tea room. The service is impeccable. Small portions of very well prepared food. Simple elegance in both the setting and the offering. Amazing pastries. Coffee is weak but I guess we were used to stronger American versions. The eggs and muffins were amazing

Meh, average breakfast…

By Olga H |

We visited three Laduree for breakfast in three different countries and this one was very average. Eggs Benedict were Benedict with two hard boiled eggs) unimpressive and seriously overpriced for this quality of food. Highly doubt we will book table again in this particular Laduree.

No service for coffee, drinks & desert

By Nathalie F |

We personally do not life the food at la durée but we like their desert. We asked for a table for drinks, coffee & desert but were told they do not serve unless it’s food. You would need to stay in line and hope for a self serve table to be available. We never encountered that in any la durée we have ever been. Very disappointed. Staff didn’t look clean like other stores either

A dream come true.

By Raquel D |

As a huge fan of macaroon, and rose water flavor, I was expecting the day we could have the chance to try those authentic French pastries. Needless to say the breakfast and pastries were amazing. Don’t rate 5 stars because the place is a little bit crowded but nothing that can stop you from having a good time.

A lovely retreat in the middle of soho

By Saf128 |

I always love coming here. The pastries and macaroons are perfection and the patio is heaven. Whether with friends or even as a solo treat, this is a must stop on nyc visits.

We left due to rude waiter & not being sat where we asked

By Luna |

If someone visiting nyc asked me if I recommend this restaurant, I'd say no. Based on my experience, it seemed the host chooses who gets to seat outside. We had a reservation, asked to be seated outside. The host said they didn't have tables and that it was cold outside. But in the spam of the following 5 minutes, the same host sat 2 couples and a family with kids outside. We got sat on a horrible table with tons of foot traffic, all cramped. I was taking a friend out for a celebration and we felt so uncomfortable. The waiter that served her water was rude to her. Anyway, we decided to leave. They did comp our drinks that we didn't finish cause we just wanted to leave.

Must-Stop In Soho!

By meganisahippie |

I am so glad I discovered this place, and got to bring a piece of New York/France home with me! Just finished my box of macarons last night. The atmosphere is like stepping into a little Parisian patisserie- this place is seriously so darling! Would definitely go again next time I'm in New York.

Confiture

By Nicola E. |

I bought few macarons and the apricot jam during my visit. As a French man who used to go a lot in the store rue Royale Paris, I can tell you that these macaroons are a little disappointing and the Apricot jam is way too sweet and was made according to the stamp on the little jar in December 2019: Of course as everybody knows that the full season for fresh Apricot in France Is December!!!!! It’s unacceptable to have a jam made with dried fruits and concentrate for that price!!!

Beautiful

By Lauren T |

My mom and I stopped her for lunch while in Soho and had a wonderful time, Laduree is decorated beautifully and the staff are friendly and give great customer service. The outdoor seating area was full but the Maitre d’ sat us right by the open doors so we were still able to experience it. Our food was delicious and we also got dessert! Highly recommend for a little piece of Paris.

Terrible can’t deal with customers when it’s busy

By Dharini N |

Visited with a group of four. Terrible service. Waited for 10 minutes and told a waiter would be with us but no one came and we had to chase them. Burata salad was very under whelmig. Very stingy on the burata. Coffee came out cold and ages after the desert. They tried to tell us they were really busy. Basically wouldn’t bother. Very over priced

Not My Cup of Tea

By Susan S |

I love to go to tea and I'm always up for trying new places. We were in Soho and Laduree sounded like a perfect place to try. Our experience unfortunately didn't measure up. We were seated outside which was fine but it was very loud and definitely not relaxing for a tea. The sandwiches that were served were wrapped in wax paper which was surprising since that indicated to me that they weren't fresh and the way they tasted were probably made days before. The macaroons and the other sweets were very good but all in all it was a disappointing experience for a tea.

So we didn't even have desert...

By James M |

However, we did stop in for an hour for a lovely bottle of Rose on a hot day and ogled the parade of incredible looking sweets that ran by. A fairly large queue for takeout was constant and the clientele a mix of local and tourists. The area it isolated in is a fashion and wealth mecca and the prices are a reflection. The patio setting is very intimate and attractive and well worth the cost.

Amazing place - but had a strange experience

By HotelFashionista |

I have been going to this location for years! The space - especially the back outdoor seating rivals it's foreign counterparts. Sometimes you'll spot a celeb or two. But, for the most part, I come here for the food, tea and famous dessert! I have never reviewed this place as it's such a regular spot for me, I forget (as I usually only review my first time experience). But, I needed to say something about this last visit. Pros - the food is amazing. Do not expect large "American" portions because this place is very French. I have enjoyed the soups, the lobster roll (very small) and the flatbreads. All the desserts are to die for - especially the macaron desserts. The teas are steeped to perfection and are a delight. Cons - No, it's not cheap. But, people who come here know this. It's not wildly expensive, but lunch can set you back $100 if you indulge. The wait can sometimes be completely annoying - especially for the weekend brunch. But, it is what it is. Here is my "con" for this visit. I was celebrating my birthday. This place is perfect for this. All I wanted was to enjoy myself by myself and call it a night (as I had a celebration with friends on a day that was more convenient for everyone). My meal was wonderful (lobster bisque) and the prosecco was bubbly. I did not really want a dessert. But, the manager insisted she give me a "birthday dessert" and sent it over. I thought this was sweet...until the bill came. She charged me for it. I found this was rather bold and really tacky. I paid for it and left without complaining. I figured it was better to write a review over my mild disgust vs causing a scene. I am appalled a "manager" would pretend to be kind to me all to make my check bigger. Shame on you. Whilst I absolutely love this place, this visit left a bad impression on me. Be careful when you claim it's your birthday! The manager may send over a pricey cake for the whole table! Shame on you, Laduree.

Like we were in Paris

By Manos K |

We visited Ladurée for buying some macarons, as we had done during our trip in Paris a couple of years ago! Finally without understanding, we sat and order juices, cake of lemons, rose cakes and flan! Altogether with the nice soft music we were listening, it made the place a paradise within NYC!

Delicious!

By wheelswillroll |

Can I just say wow?!?! They have the absolute best macaroons I have ever tasted. The rose one and the almond one were amazing. The ambiance is so quaint. The tea was delicious as well. This is a great place for a mid-afternoon pick me up!

Great Lunch

By Benjamin |

We ate there two times lunch and it was always great. The service was quick and friendly and the food fresh and good. I was slightly dissapointed that they hadnt had the big maccarons for over two weeks.

A sad lunch

By mette-dk |

I had the meze - eggplant dip, hommus and tzatziki - for lunch. If I had closed my eyes, I would not have been able to tell the three items apart: Each little saucer was filled with a bland and runny mush. They came with a few equally bland breadsticks and water crackers. With a glass of wine and tips this sad lunch came to 31 dollars. Service was quick, and so was I.

Fabulous🌸

By Riwillcher |

We did not have reservations. We arrived around 3:30 and we were delighted to be seated in the outside courtyard for a late lunch & cocktails. Laduree did not disappoint. Everything was perfect.

Not the typical Laduree

By lmstrad83 |

I have visited Laduree in Paris,London,Dublin, and now NYC Soho. Soho falls very flat compared to the others somehow. I usually spend at least $50 over a few different visit when we visit a city with a Laduree, but after one trip, I wanted nothing to do with them. The macaroons were too sweet and not the Laduree standard. The salted caramel filling was toothache sweet and this is usually my go to flavor. I hope it’s not a company wide recipe change and just this location. Get your act together Soho.

Macaroons Heaven

By Twogirlsabroad |

This place has the best macaroons ever. Having been to Paris,France and have visited there as well I can say the macaroons are the same here and there. They also have other great pastries. Can't go wrong.

Brunch for the ladies...

By JoeHouston52 |

I was one of a handful of males dining here - but if it is a birthday.. Clearly a spot for the ladies. A gorgeous space with impeccable service. And surprisingly good food. We had salad Laduree ($42), gazpacho ($14; outstanding), poached egg with spinach and bacon (huge); tomato burrata (great presentation); coffees; and one dessert. Damages with tip for 4 were $220.

Great ambiance- Excellent service-Delicious food

By Chiki2399 |

It was our first night in NYC and we had reservations for Laduree. My daughter and her best friend are learning french and we thought it would be a good idea to go there. The macarons are superb as you can expect and they have them in every flavor and color. The food was delicious, well presented, and even tough the menu was somehow limited, everyone was satisfied. The kir royales were nicely presented with a rose petal and very enjoyable. It was Friday night and they had a nice french band playing french music. It was an amazing experience.

Brunch!

By Jose Santans |

The theme is interesting and the food is fantastic! The waiters are very attentive to the table and the food was here quickly! Five star recommend!

Garden of Eden!

By juliemj |

What a magical garden restaurant! After the heat, noise and chaos that is NYC, we came to this oasis of calm. We had mimosas, croissants and fruit, which was a perfect refresher. We also loaded up on macarons!

The best macarons! Lunch was ok, service not great...

By Sue R |

We have been here several times for the macarons. The previous time, we went with our young grandsons. We got a bunch of macarons to take home, and ice cream for the boys and cappuccino for me and my husband. Unfortunately, the boys got a hold of the box of macarons before we noticed and ate half of them! They were so good! The line was quite long, but the folks behind the counter were very patient with us and the boys. However, this time my husband and I had lunch here for the first time. We were seated and found that there was cold air coming from somewhere. We asked two people to fix the problem. One said it was door in the back that he’d close, but nothing changed. The other gave some kind of lame explanation that it was something that couldn’t be controlled, so we endured it. We found the service to be slow and badly-timed. We ordered the beef tartare appetizer and a croque monsieur, both to share, but they came together. The beef tartare came with some greens and crusty bread slices and was delicious. The croque monsieur was good and the presentation was different...three pieces rolled up. It came with fries and a little green salad. My husband asked for a glass of wine and had to remind the server, since it hadn’t come by the time he was almost done with lunch. After we ate, we ordered the hot chocolate and the rose latte. The hot chocolate was very good. The rose latte was interesting. It didn’t taste like much until I added three brown sugar cubes. It was pretty good. I don’t think we’ll be back again for a meal, but certainly for the macarons, which we bought to take home after we finished lunch.

An Exquisite Experience

By kswstoryteller |

We were initially unable to get reservations to this must-visit bakery/tea room and lunch spot, but we were able to slip in early afternoon when a party of 5 was a no-show. I felt transported back in time by the French speaking waiters (who were extremely polite and accommodating in every regard) as well as the Baroque inspired decor. The food was authentically Parisienne and the experience one to remember. The macaroons were also the best I have ever tasted anywhere. Period! Put this on your list to visit for a lovely glimpse of Paris in the midst of NYC!

Wow

By Brian J |

It had been a while since I've been here and for the life of me, I have no idea why I waited so long to go back! We sat out back on the patio and it was gorgeous. We started with sharing falafel, delicious. We each had a salad, amazing and refreshing and finished with sharing a couple desserts. My only complaint was I had a share of broken Glass in my iced tea. It was quickly replaced. The beet salad, blackberry/keylime tart and caramel macaroon.... Amazing!

Perfectttttttt 😍😍

By Tasha1228 |

All I kept saying as I sat there was WOW WOW WOW! I made a reservation to take my best friend for her birthday brunch, we arrived earlier than expected but that was not an issue we were seated immediately outside as requested in a BEAUTIFUL garden courtyard they have towards the back that just transports you out of NYC and straight to Paris 😍 Once seated we were greeted by our server Meile (not sure how to spell it, its very french) and she was absolutely incredible to say the least, her kindness was soo genuine and spoke to you always with a smile!! We had several servers touch our table whether we needed water or a dish removed and all was done so promptly and nicely as if it were no bother at all I really loved the service! Once the food came out we opted for the brunch menu course and it was soooo good!!! Pastries, coffe, fresh juice, eggs, avocado toast, canadian bacon man we were stuffed in a good way haha!! We took some pics which Meile was so kind to lend herself for. I work in hospitality so essentially I look for these things when I am out and this places nails it across the board!! Cant wait to bring my mom and sisters here ❤️❤️

a Hudson Yards patisserie

By Hugh |

This is a perfect place to recoup in a visit to Hudson yards- a bit of Paris on the Hudson. Delightful macaroons and delightful pastries with nice seating.

Overrated

By Tammy K |

The staff here, during my experience, was very not friendly. My waitress was average. They were out of basically everything we wanted on the menu. I went to the outdoor seating just to take a picture and what seemed to be the "manager on duty" was extremely rude and pestering me to hurry up when I was here HAVING LUNCH. And proceeded to give me an evil stare the entire duration. It's extremely overrated and overpriced in my opinion. I'd rather go to their smaller shop in LA and grab macarons to go. I won't be dining again.

Classy and kind.

By Julee v |

My friend wanted to go here and I'm so glad we did. The interior and garden area are a sight to behold, for me, anyway. Everything was clean and classy. The servers were prompt and easy to speak with. Our tea and macarons were divine. People of all ages and from all walks of life seemed to be enjoying spending time in the garden area, sipping tea, eating treats, and catching up on life.

Service needs some help

By Karen W |

I actually ate here twice this visit because the food was excellent. The service however needs some help, particularly from the female servers who were less than attentive. The male servers were gracious and very attentive. I honestly don’t think they cared even after voicing my opinion. The do have a lovely courtyard for dining as well as a very pretty indoor dining room. A place that really makes you feel like your in Paris.

The best macarons!

By Sue R |

We have been here several times, but this time we came with our young grandsons.

Good food, good vibe.

By Foy |

Perfect food, perfect vibe. Weather’s a bit chilly so we sat inside. We wanted salmon but they weren’t serving in on the day. Eggs Benedict bacon was fine, avocado cocktail shrimp was surprisingly good.

Delicious coffee and pastries

By Vania R |

Lovely place with yummy coffee and pastries. We went on a Saturday for brunch. I order the avocado toast with a poach egg, fresh fruit, and pastries. It was a nice experience, the staff very nice and attentive.

Great Place for a treat and tea

By Sandra H |

Cold and raining February day in SoHo. Was walking around siteseeing. My Sister told me about Laduree Bakery. They had a fantastic lunch there (she is not easily impressed). I stopped in for dessert and tea and to relax from the rain. Although crowded, was not rushed. Dessert was amazing. Their house hot tea was refreshing. Will definitely go back. Love the ambiance and dessert selection. Next time I will go for lunch.

Enjoy — remember dessert!

Beautiful venue, great food, service extraordinaire. Enjoyed a delightful luncheon in the outdoor garden area. Absolutely wonderful ! Salmon eggs Benedict perfectly done, do order dessert !

Prices like in Paris...

By CenturionMember |

Not for the fainthearted - this upscale cafe is not just a bistro around the corner, but you certainly impress your friend with an invitation. Shop for great gifts, such as macarons if visiting friends.

Quick Macaron Stop

By LexiV |

We did not dine here. We just purchased some macarons to go. There service was friendly and they were beautifully packaged.

Sunday coffee and croissants

By Dakota |

Great coffee and croissants. Outside garden is lovely. Staff isn’t overly friendly or welcoming. Difficult to book an advanced reservation but when we showed up without one the place was empty. We were told we had a limited time to sit and had to vacate the table at a specific time . Felt very rushed especially considering the price and the fact that there was nobody waiting for tables. Go for the experience of going but don’t expect it to be a luxurious dining experience

Gorgeous and Delicious

By LaurenMReich |

Let me start off with saying that Ladurée Soho is GORGEOUS. Every room is stunning and it's my exact aesthetic and vibe so I honestly just want to move in and live there or hire their interior decorator. My friend and I had afternoon tea in their courtyard for my birthday and I want to make it a yearly tradition. Their tea and sandwiches were delicious but, of course, the real standouts were the dessert pastries and macarons. It was all melt in your mouth delectable. I couldn't resist buying a bunch of macarons before leaving either. This is genuinely one of my favorite spots in a city full of gorgeous and delicious places to eat. If you love France, beautiful places, and delicious desserts then you should absolutely stop by!

nice place but loud and noisy

By rakesh p |

Went for afternoon tea yesterday. The backyard sitting is wonderful. The restaurant is very noisy and the music was totally not appropriate for the place. Tea was good but the sandwiches and the vou la vent were horrible. Way overpriced.

A coffee shop side barely better than a fast food chain

By Marie C |

This review is for the coffee shop side, which is counter service. Better coffee shops and pastry shops usually offer proper cups, plates and silverware for patrons choosing to stay, even if they do not have table service. One would expect at least the same standards from a house that represents history and French style. It all goes down the drain at Ladurée, where you'll have to eat your fancy pastry out of the box with a plastic spoon, and drink your tea from a paper cup. A nonsense knowing that they have a full restaurant just behind, meaning dish washing capacities. At this price, one would expect better options that the ones found in fast food chains - and a company that takes to heart not to trash the planet with single use disposables.

This place is amazing!

By Alynn28 |

Laduree is a famous French pastry shop specializing in French Macaroons. Amazing pastries. The line is long for this pastry shop but don’t let that deter you! It’s worth the wait. I always get at least a dozen macaroons when I visit this place.

Taste of France

By 1198r |

The best macaroons hands down! We had lunch in the cafe. We had the tea time. Everything was delicious but fhe macaroons are the best I have ever tasted. Expensive but well worth every penny

So crowded and understaffed but desserts are good

By tcgje04 |

I’d honestly rate the desserts a 4 but the Service was a bit challenging. Understaffed so they couldn’t keep up with the line/and orders (definitely tried to). The store was way too small and there were too many customers crammed into this small place. Very limited seating too which was already taken. It’s pricey too — a dozen macaroons and two slices of cake was around $50. Might was a bit over rated in my opinion, but the brand is well known and people are willing to pay.

I am a new fan of Laduree

By Lindsay s |

It’s quite a coincidence that I picked today to dine here on National Women’s Day as it turns out, this establishment was the first in France to serve women. I just finished my lunch and dessert here for the first time and was blown away . Beautifully decorated complete with crystal chandeliers. I had the Laduree club which was delightful and plentiful and Dauphin truffled potatoes. The dessert is absolutely outstanding ! I chose the honore rose cake which in my best description is raspberry and rose whip cream , fresh raspberries sitting atop a flakey pastry donut. Covered in raspberry frosting with a real raspberry purée in the center ! This is decadence! And then the macaron’s. I got an assortment and I have to say the rose and caramel and black tea are my favorite! Although I imagine I would love all of them! The staff including servers , busmen and management (Jonathan and Sara)are attentive, accommodating and explain every dessert in detail ! Eating here will make you feel like a queen .

Very pretty atmosphere

By sightingsarah |

The seating area has some space. The wall paper and additions are very pretty. Service was friendly and quick. I had a lime blossom tea with our afternoon tea. It was lovely. It’s in the perfect area for shopping in SoHo. ❤️

Empty restaurant- no availability

By Luxetravelmom |

Empty restaurants but no availability. We ended up going to another restaurant after being told there was over an hour wait. There were only a few tables with patrons and lots of staff standing around. Ended up at Cipriani- welcomed with open arms.

Best Brunch in Soho

By Ines V |

We have been to this place several times. The food is superb and has a wide array of options. Their pastries, particularly the rose croissant and the palmiers are really something. Cocktails are good. As a main, the Lobster pasta was really a. must. Staff is attentive and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again.

Perfect spot for so many things

By Tracy S |

We were looking for a spot to have dessert after brunch today. So glad we chose Laduree! The rooms are decorated nicely, and the pastries are outstanding. So glad we stopped to pickup treats on our way out to bring home as well... Especially the macarons! This place is special and casual at the same time. We've already decided we need to come back for brunch after reviewing the rest of the menu!

Fantastic Food and Service

We visited this place the other day, all I can say is what a pleasant brunch it was. Great food with amazing service! We really enjoyed the experience!

Cool place

Very nice ambiance, super good service, the food so tasty and the macaroons super delicious! If you want to see something special in Soho stop in Laduree I like it!

La Durée Soho - Date Night

Excellent food, service and ambiance. We highly recommend the gazpacho and the lobster salad. Select the terrace!

Overrrated

By Anaswi |

The Bad: The hostess had a terrible attitude and seemed flustered even when there was no line and we had a reservation. I was there to celebrate my birthday so from the get go I had a bad experience. The Good: The place is beautiful. The food is OK at the most. A hit or miss. Order the French Toast skip the Croque Monsieur. The fries were stale. They did not have their pink latte nor any croissants. The Ugly: Horrible customer service. I have never have seen a busboy being rude especially when I had not requested anything from him.

Nice staff, tasty pastries, poor delivery

By Jennifer S |

The staff was nice and the selection of macaron flavors was good. However, I was surprised that an upscale patisserie like Laduree would serve drinks in paper cups and pastries had to be eaten with disposable utensils. It is neither easy nor pleasant to eat a millefeuille that you can't cut through easily because the utensil is inadequate.

Excellent Food, Beautiful Setting, Sharply Mediocre Service

By oceanstar9 |

My Mom and I met for dinner in the garden, which is absolutely beautiful. The cocktails are exceptional, the food was absolutely fabulous. The service, however, is as I said: Sharply mediocre. Our servers changed mid-meal, and neither server returned to see about a second round of drinks (which we had wanted before our entrees came, not a complicated thing since we'd had appetizers to share before the entrees). It took 10-15 minutes to flag down someone and then another 10-15 minutes to receive our drinks. We were more than halfway done with dinner by the time our wine came. When we'd ordered dessert I'd asked for whipped cream on my ice cream. They didn't do the whipped cream, but took the ice cream for the correction. Instead of adding whipped cream to the ice cream, they brought back the ice cream with a pitiful side of whipped cream in a separate container. It was insulting, really. And at that point the ice cream had started to melt. It's a shame because the venue and the food really is wonderful. I have to say, though, the attitude of the servers nearly ruined the meal. While I'll make a second attempt at some point, it will be half-heartedly. One should note, as they do in Europe, the server charges the card for you table-side and you need to input the tip into the machine in front of them.
