My Girlfriend and I were visiting New York to celebrate our 1 Year Anniversary. Her research had found numerous vegan restaurants to visit during our time in the city. We decided, based on menu's, that Ladybird was something special. We were correct. In my 3 and a half years as a vegan, this is the best meal I've had. I was astonished by the taste and quality of the fondue. Every aspect of the meal was executed well. The accompanying cocktails and mocktails were tremendous. The waiter had an issue with our drinks and they didn't arrive for nearly 35 minutes. He swiftly took this off the final bill. We don't normally have 3 courses, but 3 courses at Ladybird were a must. I think we actually shared dessert, only because our first two courses had been sublime. I can't wait to return soon!

Really lovely meal! The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, very colourful. It’s quite a small restaurant, with quite a few tables, but we went early (just when it opened) so it wasn’t very busy. The waitress was very nice also. The food was really good, between two of us we shared two buns (maitake buffalo and cauliflower po boy), the melon skewers and the korean fried broccoli. All of them were good, but buns were my favourite, especially the cauliflower one. We weren’t super hungry and this was plenty for us, but maybe if we’d been more hungry we would have needed another dish. I don’t live in New York but if I did I’d definitely go back! Would be especially good for a date or meal out with friends.

I came by here at 5 pm to grab a quick bite and check it out. First thing I noticed is how small, dark and cramped it is. The bar takes up half the space. It looks nothing like the pretty images I’ve seen online. The place was practically empty except for the bar. I was told no table is available. I Have to sit at the very cramped bar. So I asked a waiter if I could get food to go. He said ask the bartender. The bartender was the same person who told me all the tables were taken (at 5pm?!). I stood there waiting and he never acknowledged me or asked me if I wanted something. So I left. So glad I did it this way versus taking a friend there for dinner. As a vegetarian I’d be embarrassed to take a nonveg friend there. Sorry to say this but vegan places in this city tend to suck. Either hippy granola or attitude galore and way overpriced for basically vegetables. This is why I tend to go to nonveg restaurants and get something veg off the menu.

Ladybird is AMAZING! It has the cutest atmosphere and it just feels super cozy. The food is incredible & they have so many different things to try. I came here for my birthday and had a fantastic time celebrating with friends and family.

I am not even a vegetarian, but went with my friend on recommendation. The food is divine, loved everything on the menu - especially the fondue, the sweet potatoes and the corn. And our waiter was lovely. A great place to go

Whether you are vegetarian or not, you’ll have a great dining experience at Ladybird! Their tables are nicely arranged outside under a large canopy. Tapas sized plates are great for sharing. My recommendations: truffle mac and cheese, green pea fritters, breaded eggplant mariana.

"The service at Lady Bird was excellent the food was absolutely divine; it was so delicious. Couldn’t believe it was vegan. Bar none the best vegan food I’ve had. Maya & Michael were gracious hist and and such a joy to talk with. We will most definitely be back!! Highly recommend! If I could give 10 stars I would!

One of the best vegan restaurants in New York. Fantastic. Innovative dishes with different ways of presenting vegetables. The waiters are nice, attentive and very friendly. A wonderful plus for a great dinner.

Casual version of Avant-Garden sister restaurant, great vegan place. Many dishes designed to share, lovely decor.

This negative Rating is for the Manager Jackie. Not for ladybird or the food. The food is amazing and so is the restaurant, However the manager Jackie has a very nasty, aggressive and rude disposition not only did he eyeball me as I waited at the bar for my to go order when my order arrived I noticed it was in a different container than usual. I had just been to the restaurant two days prior. I asked to speak with the manager about the container and because the portion seemed to be smaller. He approached me in a Very aggressive manner. He proceeded to speak with me very aggressively with an attitude speaking ,rude and just nasty in a disrespectful manner using hand gestures as if he was chopping off someone's head Several times stating we're doing away with plastic because we're not using plastic anymore( using the off with your head hand gester as he's speaking Several times) The rating of one star is for the manager Jackie's Over Aggressive behavior, Unprofessional, nasty and rude disposition. Jackie you are a representation of a company called "Overthrown Hospitality". You obviously don't know what Hospitality is. I hope this matter is taken care of. There are many other Vegan establishments in New York that I can eat at, but I like Ladybird, unfortunately the Manager Jackie makes it look bad

My friend and I ordered 4 dishes to share and everything was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. The kimchi arancini was especially good! The servers were also very nice and friendly. This is my new favorite restaurant in NYC, and I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes from the menu.

I came here for a late night dinner. They were offering their last night menu. Both the server and bartender were extremely friendly. The decor and ambiance was really nice: dim lighting, nice chandeliers, and nice ceiling decorations. I got the Maitake Bun and everything ggplant for food, Basil Swift (non alcoholic) for drink, and cheesecake for dessert. I liked all of them. One thing to note is that the food was slightly on the oily side, but not too much to gross me out. I would like to go back when the full menu is being served.

Absolutely LOVED this fabulous place! The decor was beautiful. The service was top tier! The food was impeccable! Went here for BRUNCH and will defly be back. We were greeted by Sharif and he was so awesome! We saw him at Cadence nights before, and it was a JOY to be in his presence again, as he is the manager for both establishments. The bartender was also very kind. For brunch we had the frittata, potatoes, French toast, iced coffee, and oyster mushroom. Everything was bursting with flavor and made to perfection! 10’s across the board! 5 out of 5 stars. Would recommendt!

The menu is inventive and fun. We loved the fondue and the wine list is excellent. Even if you are not vegan you will enjoy Ladybird. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is soft and romantic. The service is very good. Make a reservation in advance so you are not disappointed!

Went for my wife's birthday dinner. She's vegetarian, and it's great when she can order anything on the menu, without having to hunt and peck. We ordered a number of dishes- all tapas style, and seasonal- and everything was excellent! Mix of Asian-inspired and Americana. Truffle mac and cheese with mushroom bacon was awesome. Fried broccoli with an Asian glaze also wonderful. The drinks are all wines and wine-based cocktails, so lighter cocktails, but inventive. Will be back for a summer course of tapas here, for sure. Large sparkler with our creme brulee was a nice touch.

Just like most restaurants in New York, this place was very expensive, especially for vegan food. But the food was amazing and our hostess was so friendly. So really worth every penny. We had a big bowl of one of their cocktails for the table. The young people liked it. It was very sweet with minimal alcohol. 55 dollars. I would order beer and wine. The food was amazing. We had the broccoli, the cauliflower, the buns, the dumplings, and a kale salad. Everything was excellent, no complaints. You can tell a vegan restaurant is good when you really can’t tell whether you are eating meat or a vegetable. We will definitely be back.

The cuisine is "Vegan Tapas". I was very skeptical - but turned out to be excellent. The food was wonderful - imagine veggies tasting so delicious. All dairy is made from cashew nuts etc (no regular dairy) - if I was not told that beforehand - I would have never known. Almost all items on the menu is magnificent. The desserts were amazing as well - including the chocolate fondue. Overall fantastic, unique !!

Perfect flavours, the dressing on the Kale and radish salad was the best. We had 5 dishes for two people and that was perfect. Very friendly service and top points for decor. Only negative is that is was quite dark in there. I like to eat with my eyes first! Highly recommend

We, a party of two, had reservation at 7 pm. We were seated upon our arrival. The restaurant has long sofa type benches all along with chairs across. The bar area also has some seating for about 8-10 people. The restaurant is rather small with may be 30 seats. It is nicely appointed. The menu is small and tapas style. Actually, their menu reminded me of dimsum places where you check off with a pencil. Here, you do that too. We had rose and forever ipa to start. For food, we ordered: Avocado Kale Baby Beets Artichoke Mushrooms Sweet Potato 6 dishes for two people. That was enough food. The food is really outstanding. The seasoning and taste were extra-ordinary. They were nicely presented also. For dessert, we had dessert flight, which was good. I also had another beer. The service is friendly and efficient. One thing: They don't have tea or coffee. I think they should buy a kettle and some tea bags. That shouldn't be too much work to serve tea.May be making coffee is time-. consuming. I like the restaurant and revisit. The check with tax and tip was $136.00

Stopped in for a cocktail around 5:30 on a Saturday. No problem getting a seat at the bar, wasn't very crowded at this time. Friend and I ordered the black swan and the shearwater spritz cocktails. Black swan was delicious. Not too sweet, had kombucha in it. Wasn't a fan of the spritz, too sweet and glass was way too small! Most unique part of this vegan restaurant was the beautiful bathroom! It had gorgeous chandeliers hanging in it! Very unexpected! We enjoyed our time here and would come back.

We LOVE Ladybird and have been coming here since 2019. Every single item on their menu is delicious, perfectly flavored and seasoned, and the right texture. I like that they have different types of cuisines on the menu so it doesn’t feel limiting. They also have different flavor and texture palettes which adds to the experience. Food: There were four of us and we got the mushroom toast, buns, Every single entrée was perfect. We somehow still had room for dessert and got Service is always excellent here. Everyone is super friendly and nice. They were even kind enough to bring back the punch bowl drink for us because we requested it. Drinks: They have a large selection of beverages and have some great bottles of Orange Wine which are hard to find at most places. They also have these great punch bowl cocktails which aren’t on the menu but like I said they will do it upon request. Price: For the amount of food we get and the uniqueness of everything I do think LadyBird is reasonably priced and worth it.

Cozy and dimly lit restaurant - very romantic. Good selection of interesting small plates and decent wine list. Service was a nice pace for a romantic dinner - not too hurried. Will definitely be back

We visited Ladybird on their opening day. The food was fantastic and we loved it. Service was beyond excellent. We tried a few salads, sweet potato dish, Brussels sprouts... all were made creatively and tasted great. The decor is really cool and the vibe was perfect. Only thing missing was a warm drink (it was a chilly day). An espresso or tea with the decadent desert trio would have made this perfect (clearly I didn't miss it enough to knock off a star :) ) Will definitely go back again next time we're in NYC.

This is a very cozy restaurant with perhaps 15 tables, a bar and delicious vegan tapas. The tapas plates are generally small but you have some entree sized dishes to choose from. I highly recommend the saffron risotto. The "bread" dishes are all served on toast which was a little disappointing but they were tasty. They have some very unique cocktails along with wine and beer.

Delicious food beautiful restaurant but service wow really disappointing. Waiter barely greeted us and answered questions with "yup" and other non interested replies. Seemed to careless about our order or us. Too bad as restaurant lovely. One other issue no coffee or tea (weird) and when we asked why another shrug of shoulders and disinterest. Not cheap restaurant please up your service quality... casual disinterest is not cool. If service would have been decent would have rated ladybird 5 star.

We went to Ladybird for my birthday and had a wonderful time. Upon arrival there was a sign on the table wishing me a Happy Birthday, along with some fizz. The food was amazing, the service was brilliant. If we didn't live across the Atlantic we'd be back again in a heartbeat! And we haven't stopped talking about the kale salad...!

We had a great time at Ladybird! The service was friendly and the staff members took good care of us. We recommend to reserve in advance to have a table. For more pictures, visit my Instagram (IG: kelledstyle) :-)

The drinks and dishes at Ladybird far exceeded my expectations. The tomato basil pie is the best thing I have eaten in months! Cheers to the chef for a diverse and delicious menu.

The fact that Ladybird is a vegan restaurant is secondary - it is an amazing dining experience regardless of category. There are no meat substitutes...just excellent dishes, one after the other. We ordered the Avocado Toast, Brussel Sprouts, Mushrooms, Sweet Potato, Beets, Zucchini and the Chardonnay and Artichoke Fondue. And we ordered both desserts. Everything was delightful. One of the stand outs for me was the Zucchini - I could eat a whole plate of that just by itself. The service was also excellent and although a small physical space - we never felt crowded. I highly recommend Ladybird regardless of your dietary preferences.

This was my first time eating vegan like this and it was amazing. The vegan fondue was really good! So was the rosé on the tap. Recommend this!!

No complaints on any of the food we ordered. There was a bit of a wait but it was totally worth it. I don’t usually like sitting at the bar but the space was beautiful and the chairs were comfy. I’m also not a vegetarian but the food was delicious I didn’t even notice there was no meat. I couldn’t pick a favorite between any of the dishes. We got the bao buns, Brussels sprouts, eggplant, baby corn, loaded potatoes and dessert flight.

Super cute place, very inviting. Our server was incredibly nice and so helpful. And the vegan brunch options were all delicious, especially the chicken and waffles! Will definitely eat here again!

I am not a vegetarian but I love cooking with good produce and I love vegetables prepared in interesting ways... the food my daughter and I shared was absolutely delicious (green pea fritters, cauliflower, bao buns (with mushrooms) and brussel sprouts). We ate at the bar as we turned up on a Friday night without a reservation but the seats were very comfortable and we were attended by very delightful Eleanor. We had a very nice sparkling on tap. I recommend this place, especially if you are staying in the East Village as it was just a short walk from our hotel.

This was one of the best meals of my life, and my steak-centric partner agreed with me after I talked them into trying some of my dishes. Ladybird serves tapas-style dishes where it's best to order 3-5 depending on how hungry you and your dining partner are. The inside is beautifully decorated and comes across as intimate. You are in close quarters to those around you. I would suggest a reservation on a peak day. Service was friendly but not overbearing. We had the Truffle Mac and Cheese, Potato Au Gratin, Grilled Cheese, and KFB. The cheese was so phenomenal in these dishes my partner refused to believe me when I said it was vegan. The Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup was their favorite. I personally loved the KFB; it had enough spice and was crispy - it was what every restaurant that does fried veggies wishes it could do. My partner (who again is not vegan or vegetarian) said we'd be in trouble if we lived here because the food was that good. For the two of us, with two drinks and a tip, it came out to around $100, which is not bad for a nice dinner in NYC.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were not disappointed. The food was incredible - full of flavour and so fresh. I would recommend the mushroom and black garlic aioli on toast in particular - the best thing we ate throughout our entire trip!

This restaurant has incredibly delicious and unique vegetarian small plates that can be shared and ordered tapa style. The Ladybird Fondue that we had for 2-3 people was just decadent and so tasty!! They also have great drinks. The setting is absolutely charming and the restaurant staff are equally so - all very friendly and attentive to making your dining experience the best meal ever. This is not an inexpensive meal but it is worth the $$$$.

My husband and I visited Ladybird with his son and partner during our stay in NYC. We each ordered two tapas items and couldn't finish all the food. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented! We ordered: Truffle Mac and Cheese - delicious but not my favorite Potato Au Gratin - creamy and flavorful, a table favorite Brussels Sprouts - roasted and well-seasoned Grilled Cheese - probably my absolute favorite dish of all KFB - tempura broccoli that had a little heat and tons of flavor Eggplant - two large slices of breaded eggplant with a wonderful ricotta topping The venue is quirky, cozy, and lit with pink lamps (which is why I have no pictures of the food). Our server was prompt and friendly and skillfully answered all our questions. They have outdoor seating although we opted to sit indoors. I highly recommend Lady Bird!

This restaurant was a delight. We came here early to eat before the concert at Madison Square Garden. The service was impeccable and prompt. We enjoyed sharing plant-based food, it was so delicious. The cocktails are inspired and yummy. The Decour was I was gorgeous and relaxed, with green velvet upholstery and milk white accessories. I will definitely be returning here next time I'm in New York. I lovely place wherea plant based girl can get an amazing meal

It exceeded my expectations. The fondue is absolutely amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the it is a super cute spot. I’ll definitely be back!

Love this place, took my buddy whos quasi vegan for his birthday. The menu is eclectic and everything tastes good, which isn't always the case in NYC vegan restaurants.

This place is stunning , food and service absolutely awesome . Very nice setting and healthy , delicious food . Would it recommend at any time to friends and family . A must if you are vegetarian or vegan looking for high quality food in NYC .

As someone that is not vegan who ate here with friends, I think they do a great job here making the food taste well. I had the French toast and it was fantastic. The bao buns were good. The mushroom bacon was good but nothing like bacon. It reminded me of chips to be honest but the taste was good, just nothing like bacon.
Not a good place!
I was there with my family from Denmark. We were looking forward to some nice vegan food. But. The room was so dark all guests brought out the phone lights and it was so noisy you couldn’t talk or listen to the family. Personnel didn’t care. This is above my pay grade #sad
