missed the mark

By John S |

you would think if you order a $45 filet they could cook it right. ordered medium well and it came rare. took almost 15 minutes to make it right by this time my wife had finished her meal. they know better,

Excellent salads for lunch

By Charlotte H |

I enjoyed a yummy shrimp and avo salad. It was well dressed and not oversized. The shrimps were delicious! The bread is homemade and really a little moorish!!! Nice layout of the restaurant that, although big, means that you don't feel too on top of other people eating

Great breakfast

By JoyceNLBE |

Very nice place to have breakfast. Ordered the pain perdu, which was very tasty, great texture and nicely flavored. My friends had great omelletes.

Disappointing and poor value

By Cemil G |

Nice place, good service. However, the cuisine is unfortunately totally uninspired. There was nothing bad, but there was nothing good. We were 5 and each one of us chose a different dish. We had the whole dessert sampler. Nothing stood out, either way; bland was the order of the day. The reason I am giving it a poor rating is the bill. We paid close to a $100 a head, including a bottle and half of average priced wine. Poor value for money. I won't be going there again.

Very good, except the service!

By Touristresearcher |

My order was for a salad and day pasta dish. Both required parmesan cheese and some fresh pepper, got these thru a modest busboy who was close to our table. Only saw the waitress when ordering and later upon paying! Care must be given to service to properly complement all the otherwise excelence of this establisment.

Brunch wonderful. Nice neighbourhood close to d/t core

By Buckyseetheworld |

This would be a place I would return to because I love Lasagna. Not your ordinary lasagna, but short rib lasagna. This wasn't why we went in the first place, but recommended by a top chef. It is a cozy place and the atmosphere is local in nature and a lot of families were there for Sunday brunch. If we weren't in a rush we would have relaxed and enjoyed ourselves more. You can't go wrong with the food here. Freshly squeezed OJ and Fresh cut fries would have been better or maybe it was my tastebuds and memory. If I am ever back in NYC I will come here for sure... Kudos and good job

Amazing steak

By Nicola J |

Not a cheap eat, but well worth it. Went for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing time. Steak was superb.

Great Place!

By Carlos54321 |

Landmarc was recommended to us for a late dinner. Wow....the food was wonderful. The service was good and very friendly.

Hopefully, this is not the way they usually do business here...

By VinoVeritasZZ |

Maybe it was a bad combination of mid-afternoon and the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, but this added up to one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Upon arriving at Landmarc at 3:00 PM (after learning our first choice restaurant nearby was closed), the waiter politely welcomed us and offered both the lunch and brunch menus. Before sitting, we informed him that we needed to be in and out quickly to head to the airport. He told us "no problem" and since there was only one other occupied table, we believed him. We quickly ordered drinks and two appetizers (no entrees) thinking this would get us served and done even faster. The wine appeared, and then the waiting game began. At 3:30, I asked the waiter to check on our order, reminding him our time was tight. He then phoned the kitchen (this is not a big place), and said our orders were on their way. At 3:45, I asked that our yet undelivered food to be packaged to go and was again told "no problem". During the time we were at the table, no fewer than five dinner shift employees entered the restaurant, exchanged high-fives and handshake hugs with the waiter, bartender, and cook, and then disappeared or left. These people don't work much, but they appear to like each other. At 4:00 PM, I went looking for the now AWOL waiter, demanding a tab for the wine and the to-go food. Five minutes later (after standing at the bar watching the continued conversation and bro-fest in the kitchen), I got the bill for the drinks, a mumbled apology, and no food. Totally unacceptable and inexcusable.

Surprisingly not busy

By Julie H |

I went here with my family - who have diverse tastes - for dinner when we had one night in NY. We were all extremely pleased with our meals. We got a few appetizers (smoked mozzarella and ricotta fritters was the best) and both of my brothers said that their steaks were among the best they had ever had. They had an interesting drinks menu too. The service was great and attentive but not overbearing. If/when I return to New York I would definitely come back! The only thing that seemed weird was that we went on a Saturday night and there were almost no other groups there!

Saved by the bar man

By Jennifer S |

This restaurant was a let down, it did not live up to its online presentation and making the top 10 restaurants list in TriBeCa . We had a great start to the night with a most knowledgable and cheery bar man, however the rest of the staff were quite disinterested and became frustrated at the time taken when some of the party had to choose different appetisers due to them not having what was first ordered. The decor is modern and tables are quite cramped downstairs. The marrow bones were a complete letdown as was the Niçoise salad. We all had different mains and the entire party of 7 were disappointed. The beer drinkers were unhappy with the selection.

Great wine list and smashing steaks, *****

By JPC1010 |

This place is superb, we've been coming here for several years and it gets better and better. The reasonably priced wine list has gone up a little but that reflects the market and the food is sensibly priced and excellent. I would seriously recommend Landmarc, in fact I have done on may occasions.

For steak lovers who don't like steak houses

By makonyc |

Some people love steakhouses, but I prefer to have my steak in places like The Landmarc. They make more of a dish out of it. Not as pretentious, yet equally yummy. And a slightly smaller steak so you can actually have an appetizer and a dessert. The Tribeca location has a very nice atmosphere. A very good neighborhood option.

Good lunch location, contemporary cuisine

By philippe m |

If you are looking for a nice outdoor terrace at a chic venue, but not too pricey, this is a good one for Tribeca. Try the salad nicoise (USD 22)

A place you can bring your kids

By 101travelled |

This is a place where your children's noise will just blend in. They have a good kids menu and fun things like cotton candy. The food is just OK. The service is attentive. The prices are high but it might be the location. We have gone many times and plan on going back when we are with the kids.

Above and Beyond

By Lisa F |

My husband and I were downtown and stumbled out of a three hour Italian film starving. It was well past the lunch hour and too early for dinner. The Landmarc at Columbus Circle has saved us many times in similar situations, so we found their Tribeca location. We were seated at a table by the window, had a great meal and a delicious half bottle of wine. We could have sat there all night, with a friendly server, a basket of delicious bread, and an ever-tempting menu. Whatever you are in the mood for, the simple menu always seems to deliver. We started a conversation as we were paying the bill and accidentally left our credit card. I didn't realize what had happened until the next day, after we had left Manhattan. When I called, the staff couldn't have been kinder. They agreed to mail us our card and instead of putting a stamp on an envelope, went through the time and expense of sending it Priority. We had it safely the next day. Every time we go to a Landmarc the food is delicious and the spaces are wonderfully decorated, but it is the friendly and professional staff that really makes it a pleasure to visit. Needless to say we'll be back.

solid restaurant

By nyfoodie2000 |

Went with large group from work. Had almost everything on the menu... Food was very good and although we were a big group service was excellent. If its warm try to seat outside maybe noisy from the street but very pleasant. I had salad and Lamb both were good.

Good Ambience and Service, Average Food

By natter1327 |

We chose this restaurant based on the location to our hotel in Tribeca and a recommendation from a friend. We had reservations for 8:00. They did not seat us until about 8:30, yet they were apologetic. We had drinks at the bar while we waited. I tried to order a glass of wine, but they only sell wine by the half bottle. I went ahead and ordered the half bottle and it was good and reasonably priced (about $25). However, I really didn't want that much wine as I had to wake up early the next night. My mom got a Black Russian and it was $11. I guess that's NYC for you! We are pescatarian and it seemed 99% of the menu was steak. We both had cod and it was average. The couscous it came on was sparse and flavorless. The steaks that everyone around us had were HUGE. We also split the goat cheese appetizer. $15 for 3 TINY pieces of pastry with goat cheese. It was good, but not worth that price. The desserts were good, but I can't remember what we had. Some pie a la mode. Total check for one Black Russian, appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts was about $105. Average for NYC I guess. I will say that the service and the ambience were great!!

Nice Sunday Brunch

By GRJones3 |

We had a nice Sunday brunch. Service was polite, efficient and pleasant. The roasted vegetable tart was hearty and delicious. One in our party had the eggs Benedict which he thought were better than most. The blueberry pancakes were also really nice.

Great meal and wonderful wine selection

By Secondari_NYC |

Landmarc has two locations, I am most familiar with the downtown location. The food is very good, wonderful steaks and roasts cooked to perfection on open flames. The pasta is also very well done, and I am quite picky about my pasta. The deserts are wonderful and come in a variety of sizes. Landmarc is great for families and adults without children. An extensive selection of half bottles and well priced full bottles of wine.

Nice place...for a concert!

By Stine B |

Nice, cosy place. But the Music is WAY to loud and impropiate. They placed Led Zeppelin for 2 hours. Asked Them to turn the Music Down and they did, but the second we payed, the turned up the Music again. I Would recommend the food, witch is ok, nothing special, but the Music is afful. Sorry!

Excellent brunch

By Elizabeth M |

Good choices for brunch. From eggs to blts to salads and a few entrees. Bloody Mary’s excellent. Great view of Trump international hotel and an entrance to Central Park. Kid friendly.

Great view Great Muscles!!!

By mfjcannon |

The muscles and broth were soooooooooo good. We lost control and ate all of them. And then the bread. And then fries. And a bottle of Heitz Chardonnay, which was a perfect pairing. Our server had the best attitude, she was pure good energy. Loved the place. The perfect lunch spot.

Romantic, perfect for couple❤️

By Natalia S |

Love the place, beautiful views to the Central Park and the Columbus Circle. The food is great and they bring a professional service.

disappointing food and service

By ron b |

we are new yorkers and eat out frequently. this had been a favorite but the quality of the food and the service was below par. the location is amazing and it is always fun to be in the time-warner center. i hope they evaluate their menu and the quality of service and maybe they will get a better review from me.

Good experience

By Kenton C |

We was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The baked lasagna was the best I've ever had! Our grandchildren got complimentary cotton candy, which they loved! We were so overwhelmed with the experience, we didn't realize the busboy cleared off our table, which included $30.00 worth of cookies from another shop! I understand the need to turn over seats, but we was rushed...........

Sorry, over-priced and why can't one order wine by the glass???

By ann m |

I live in the neighborhood and was looking for a replacement for our local French spot, Circle Rouge, which has closed. I was hoping Landmarc would fill the void, but it cannot. Circle Rouge was a legit French bistro, with classic entrees and appetizers at a decent price. Landmarc stylistically should be a neighborhood restaurant, but it is over priced and the food does not match the cost. The foie gras terrine was nice, and the chèvre profiteroles also were good, but for $13, the profiteroles were over priced. I enjoyed my Nicoise salad, but the fact that we had to order wine by the half or whole bottle nearly destroyed the experience. I like white, my husband likes red. Why can't we each get a glass of what we prefer? The fact that this restaurant only serves half or whole bottles of wine is ridiculous. I ended up ordering a whole bottle, rather than two halves, because it would have been absurdly expensive to order two half bottles. I have never seen a restaurant that does not offer wine by the glass. Stupid. Not to mention the fact that my husband's entree, the lamb chops, cost $37 but did not come with vegetables and a starch. So we had to order potatoes as a side dish. To top it off, the kitchen (or the waitress) screwed up and we had to wait before the potatoes we ordered as a side dish were delivered. This isn't a steak place, but is supposed to be a French restaurant. Who would have thought that we needed to order sides separately? Can't a $37 plate of food include vegetable and a starch? Not to mention that the lamb chops were very fatty. So, in sum, totally not impressed and will not go back. Can't believe this place has been in business since 2004.

Consistently great. Excellent food and wine and always great service.

By Raj D |

Can always count on expecting great service, food and wine at this local tribeca establishment. This is the one place i'd be devastated if they shut down. Family staple, first stop, need to go to every so often. Fabulous quality.

Great Dinner on a Cold Evening

By JohnCManhattan_NY |

Birthday dinner with my partner. Lamb Meatballs & Endive Salad for appetizers. Lamb Shank & NY Strip with Bernaise for main courses. Great preparation and presentation. Lamb came right off the bone and melted. Steak a perfect pink medium. Very pleasant staff.. Present when necessary no rush felt. A great dinner on cold evening. Will be back on a warm one.

Sunny Saturday Brunch on the Upper West Side

By 910edithp |

The unexpected pleasure of meeting a dear friend during a visit to the City prompted a search for a sophisticated, but semi-casual, brunch location that bridged Eastside and Westside afternoon appointments and tastes. We chose the Time Warner location of Landmarc. Although both assumed the other had made a reservation, we were promptly accommodated and seated; even during a crowded 12:30 pm weekend lunch. The service was friendly, professional and menu-informed. Our brunch entrees were healthy options of poached eggs over a Mediterraen farro with diced butternut squash; a tasty, appropriately portioned bowl of lightly seasoned goodness. It was pleasant, if not skyrockets. We indulged in mimosas and bellinis which were served in my favorite fashion; small individual pitchers of fresh orange juice and peach nectar with accompanying small bottles of champagne. I like controlling my proportions. I had read beforehand that the room is loud. It is. Do not hope for an intimate conversation. We took it in stride as part of the NY experience. Having lived here years before, the noise and activity were part of my Saturday reunion with the City. Just be aware of that characteristic of this space. In sum, it worked for us with this last caveat.

Central park view

By Yavuz |

Nice restaurant if you manage to get a windows side table. We had breakfast, the food was not awesome, they charge extra for toast. But nice atmosphere.

An "in" place to go

By Mary Anne D |

Food & service were good. The restaurant setting is a very large, and extremely noisy. Majority of the patrons the night we were there were between 30-40. It is worth a try.

Disappointed

By Ralph C |

I would rate The Landmarc restaurant as average. After being seated (we were a party of 8) we waited quite a while before the waitress came over to our table for our drink order. After ordering mixed drinks and two bottles of wine, we again waited longer than what’s acceptable for our drinks to come. After the appetizers were served & my daughter finished hers, the bus boy immediately came over & took her dish away instead of waiting for the rest of us to finish. We thought this was extremely rude & unprofessional. Overall the service was poor and the food was average…when a restaurant, such as The Landmarc charges upscale prices, the service & food should be upscale as well. .

Be warned about the wine - they don't sell by the glass

By Erin O |

A friend and I were looking forward to dinner here but after being seated, my friend went to order a glass of wine only to learn that they don't sell wine by the glass…only by the half-bottle. They "say" it's because it allows them to stock a greater supply of wine. Perhaps, but I didn't buy it. It was Thanksgiving, it was slow (we were there early afternoon) and the waitress didn't offer to see if she could make an exception. Since my friend didn't want to have to buy half a bottle (about 2 1/2 glasses) we left. I understand they have a policy, I just found it odd since I've yet to be in a restaurant in NYC or many other places with this policy. I'm sure they exist, just wish we'd known before we went there - hence this review so others will know.

One of the highlights of our visit

By splont27 |

We found this by accident and it turned out to be better than the restaurant we had pre-booked for the night after on new years eve. Despite it being pretty busy and our party not having a reservation - they said they would be able to accomodate us with a small wait - this was done without any sort of 'I suppose we can' grudging attitude. The small wait was in a warm bar area (which bearing in mind how cold it was outside was very welcome). The food was superb - the waitress couldnt have been more patient in explaining the menu/types of steak - my son had a hamburger which was lovely - I had to make sure obviously! I would recommend the hanger steak which really was one of the best I steaks I have eaten. Despite it being a 'grown-up' restaurant they had enough to keep the children eating there happy - including ice cream cones and there was candy-floss that particular night. And small desserts - ideal for kids and guilt ridden adults who dont want to over indulge. Our friends went back on the last night of their stay to eat there again. It was a great experience.

Delicious

By stjohnond |

I've been to Landmarc many times for dinner or drinks and continue to love it every time. Hearty meals and a relaxed atmosphere make it an ideal place for lunch or breakfast.

one of my favorite tgo to places in NY

By julie s |

I travel to NY, the financial district,on a regular basis. Landmarc is a perfect 10 minute walk from the world financial district. My favorite is the steamed mussels in white wine...with the fries!! And after that, just about anything on the menu is great. Staff....very professional!

Doesn't live up to expectations

By JosvanD v |

I visited this restaurant that is tucked away in a corner of the Lincoln Center prior to a concert in Dizzy' Club, which is one floor up in the same building. I must say: the welcome and service was friendly, but a bit distant. And they did meet my request of being able to finish a starter and a main coarse within the hour. But the food was really nothing to write home about. The country pâté was coarse and without any special taste to it. And the mussels (main course) had not been cooked long enough and without sufficient herbs and spices. A few shells hadn't opened at all and I even found one shell that was broken (which I wisely left uneaten). The Pinot blanc was not chilled enough and was placed in a cooler with only some ice at the bottom, not in ice water which would have speeded up the cooling substantially. The area of New York around the Lincoln Center has plenty of places where you can eat better and most likely for less as well. But the view is excellent!

Great tasting food, sevice drags them down

By Morgan2010 |

Fancy upscale NYC place with expensive food prices and average indifrerent service. Entrees, sandwiches, salads. Had the braised lamb sandwich with side of brussel sprouts and bacon. It was excellent - especially the thick cut bacon. Total $25. One scoop of sorbet added for dessert ($4). House made caramels gratis at end - sweet touch.

Go for the bone marrow

By dna7575 |

Every time I visit New York, Landmarc is on my must go list. The food is quite good, but the bone marrow at the Tribeca location is truly exceptional. Bone marrow might seem scary, but it's great, great, great.

Great meal -- lots of food for the money

By keg198 |

We stopped in on Sunday afternoon over labor day. The food was great! A lot of it too. We ordered the mussels with the shallot sauce for a starter. There were a lot of mussels -- good value for the money. We each got the hangar steak -- one with the green peppercorn sauce and one with the chimichurri sauce. We agreed we liked the green peppercorn sauce the best but the chimichurri was really good too. The wine we picked paired well too. It's not a huge place but can handle a decent crowd. The decor features exposed brick and neutral tones. It's a great look. Marc Murphy, the chef/owner, is another Chopped judge we like and we were happy to try it out. It was very good!

Mediocre

By D F |

Place was very busy, bar staff friendly. Menu somewhat limited in choice, food cake out warm, atmosphere was good, but I think this was because it was full

All the Food was Excellent

By le5691 |

I had the filet mignon. It was cooked as I asked for it and seasoned perfectly. The sauce for the mussels were so good we asked more bread for dipping. The dessert served was small pastries and all of them were good.

Nice and comfortable

By Larry A |

The Landmarc is a wonderful place and they do large groups well. We had 10 people and it felt like we were a four top. The staff was exceptional as was the food. I will be back when in town.

Great food, service and atmosphere!

By Anders O |

Very good food and the atmospere in restaruant was perfect - nice interior and quite. Very good service and nice staff. Great dinner experience!

Good food and nice atmosphere

By Mariettata |

I went yo this restaurant with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday. I didn't manage to try the scallops but I think is one of the best dishes as everyone ordered. We had octopus salad snd despite is as first dish it was quite good portion. I had mussels and they were nice. My boyfriend had the stake which looks huge in the plate. Just make sure you don't sit near the door as it gets cold every time someone goes out. Atmosphere is nice , little dark with candles. It is not cheap but reasonable price for good food.

Solid Neighborhood Bistro

By MBones7 |

Was in the neighborhood and went recently for a business lunch, was a good noise level to have a normal conversation. Fairly typical bistro menu. Calamari and flat bread were good, Steak frites were outstanding. They don't serve wine by the glass which is a little odd but the prices on half and bottles were reasonable. Staff was casual and competent. Would probably return.

Lackluster lunch at the Landmarc

By HollyMollyB |

Being fans of the Food Network's 'Chopped' cooking show, where Marc Murphy frequently appears as a judge, we eagerly sought out his Landmarc restaurant in the Time Warner Center during our recent trip to NYC. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. The starter pastry basket we ordered was fine, with standard bakery goods (croissant, quick breads, muffins, etc). The blueberry lemon muffin that day was a standout: plump, juicy berries, tangy citrus flavor, crunchy sugar crystals on top. But then the rest of the meal followed. The braised short rib lasagna had an okay flavor, but the ribs were a little mushy and lacked some seasoning. The plating was short on creativity - a standard square of lasagna in a shallow bowl, swimming in tomato sauce - and it was somewhat sloppy with a splatter of sauce on the rim of the bowl. The price seemed unreasonable given the serving size: $17 for about six bites of unspectacular taste. The grilled eggplant and roasted tomato tartine was fine though a bit skimpy with the bread slice: only about half the size of the eggplant slice sitting on top. The desserts were ok though also on the expensive side, $4 for three bites (to be fair: the waiter did warn us the desserts were sampler-size). The chocolate mousse and the blueberry crumble both had good flavor but the latter could have benefited from a teaspoon of whipped cream or creme anglaise. All in all, it's not a place we would rush to put back on a NYC trip itinerary. As the cooking show would say, "sorry, but for these reasons, we have to chop you".

Lunch

By starseth |

My family and I went to 'The Landmarc' at midday for lunch. There weren't too many people there so the service was excellent! When we arrived the waitress was welcoming and really nice. They paid attention to us the whole time in way that was nice and not stressing us out. The food was very good. We had the chicken sandwich, Caesar salad and the swordfish. Clean and very nice environment:-)

Good food, Great Service but Noisy

By PennEl |

Informal dinner for our first night in New York with friends. Hotel Concierge recommended Landmarc on Columbus Circle in the Time Warner building. Nice urban ambiance. But high ceilings and hard surfaces, while adding to the atmosphere ruined the acoustics. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation even sitting at a 4 top. Service was very good. Food was good. Beware the $15 mediocre martinis!

Poor for the Price

By geronimoBirmingham |

Calamari over cooked and chewy, skirt steak salad was oily and gelatinous and sweetbreads were overcooked. On the plus side, the service was good. For the price we paid, it was a very poor value meal.

Overpriced but nice views

By pemblin |

This is young parents central with the entrance looking more like a nursery parking lot than a restaurant. It is not fine dining and its not diner prices. An alternative if you cant get into the nearby Bouchon Bakery but not worth a special trip The views out to Columbus circle do help lift the palce though

Not memorable

By SwissScrivs |

Had lunch with a friend here last week. The decor was nice - modern but still cozy. The food was presented nice enough but not particularly memorable. The staff was a little half-hearted. Would not return

2 adults and 2 teens give Landmarc 20 stars (4 x 5 Stars)

By BandwagonPa |

Our Sunday lunch was rated 20 Stars by 2 adults, and two teens (13. 15). Landmarc waiter was so friendly, attentive and kind. Everyone's food was high quality, fresh, and delicious. We are fans of Marc Murphy and the cooking show " Chopped". We were given a surprise order of their French Toast which is an entir loaf of bread. Just wonderful. Will go back! only bummer is we live 3 states away.

Very good Burger and Steaks

By Leander G. |

One of the best Burger and Steaks here! The steaks are very good, but you have to order the steak "medium rare". Then it's very delicious 👌🏻

Glad to have tried it!

By ATWTravel |

Came here for a dinner after an event and was glad to find we could get a table last minute. The atmosphere was good for conversation and had a great view of Columbus Circle. The menu had a good variety and everyone in our group enjoyed our meals. I had the basil cavatelli which were delicious! It had just the right amount of sauce and the shrimp were excellent. Would be happy to go back and try it out again!

Terrible, stay away

By Stacy C |

I haven't been so upset over a meal in a long time. Was hungry after shopping in Time Warner Center and thought why not check out Landmarc since I was up for something new. What a let down, waste of time and money. Came in on Sunday around 3:45 pm for a late lunch and the restaurant was about 20% full. Strike one, had to ask for butter twice. Strike two, appetizer took over 15 mins to come and entrees took another 15 mins to arrive after the appetizer was finished. Normally if the restaurant was at full capacity I wouldn't mind the excuse of "the kitchen is very busy at the moment." But it wasn't, so maybe it's just the service?? Strike three, listened to my waitress' recommendation of eggs en meurette and instead of poached eggs, I was served disgusting boiled eggs. By that time I was already starving. I had to request someone to look for my server and to no avail I flagged her down myself and told her this is unacceptable. I quickly asked to have something safe, panacakes, figured that would at least come out quickly so I can actually eat with my companion. Again, thought wrong. Pancakes, something simple and easy still took at least 15-20 min to come out at which point my companion had already finished his meal and sat there waiting for me. On top of all this they never once came by to refill my water or even my companion's water or offer us any other drinks after we had finished ours. Tip: DON'T EVEN BOTHER COMING HERE.

Great Breakfast Spot

By Dora C |

This is a great breakfast spot in the Time Warner Building. After a long night, I needed something more substantial than a cup of coffee and a muffin. The breakfast was very good and fresh and the service was great. I liked that in the early morning it was quiet as I recovered from my evening adventures. Expect to pay around $65 for two people. Enjoy!

Great restaurant and atmosphere

By clairedScotland |

I had dinner here and really enjoyed it. The restaurant had an intimate feel - with a small bar and an open grill where you can see them cooking steaks. The menu had a great selection from steaks, fish through to pasta. I had chicken and it was good. Most people I was with had steak - and apparently it was really good. The wine was great too! If I was visiting again and in this part of town I would def. come back here to eat.

Very good steak

By Ringklokke |

Best steak I have had for a long time. Very nice room with an intimate feeling. And they had half a bottle of wine which is nice when you are drinking on your own.,...

Great meal and wine in a small intimate restaurant

By swmcken |

This was a great surprise - a small dining area that looked to seat only about 30 people and no one was there whene we arrived at 7p. However, the food was great - wonderful Greek salad and melt-off-the-bone lamb shank for me. Great selection of inexpensive wines - we drank a wonderfully smooth Italian barolo. Cute dessert samplers were just the right size after a very hearty meal. Our group of 5 all were very satisfied with a wonderful meal and service.

Cotton Candy instead of a birthday cake!!!

By TravelingWoman100 |

My daughter and I were in NYC and decided to go to Landmarc. We did not have a reservation but were able to get a table immediately. The place filled up quickly with reservations so we were lucky. It was my adult daughter's birthday. I was hungry for beef so I had a burger, she had pasta. We shared a kale salad. It was her first time eating kale and she liked it. The dressing was superb. My burger was excellent. So we told the waitress it was my daughter's birthday and the waitress said she would do something special. Well, their special thing is cotton candy instead of a cake. It came with a lighted candle. My daughter was a bit embarrassed but she ate almost all of the cotton candy!!!

Good caramel....what a way to end a nice meal

By Kim T |

Was there to celebrate a friend's promotion and had a wonderful time. Good food and good wine. Had the bone marrow...very nicely paired with caramelized onion. The lamb shank was tender and had great flavor. Hazelnut ice cream...creamy and delicious. And to top it off they gave us homemade caramel candy...one of the best I have tasted. Good service and a nice atmosphere.

What has changed here??

By KarenHamit |

I have always rated this branch (do not go to Columbus circle, way too mass market) and felt the intimacy of the restaurant, the blazing fire/grill at the back added to an overall exceptional experience. However, when I visited at 9pm on a Tuesday it was a different feel. My folded paper menu was speckled with food stains, waitress seemed lacking in their usual foodie informative selves. But my utter bug bear was a member of the delivery team walking back and forth through the restaurant in the most filthy coat and high viz bib. I came because this branch for steak because it is great food with staff that care but has their been a change in management?

Always good

By Diego C |

I always come here when in NY, and as often happens we end up sitting at the round bar eating amazing steak. For the first time I went for the sharing aged steak with a colleague of mine, and it was delicious. Extremely tasty and well paired with the wine by the waitress. I'll keep going back here time and again as it doesn't disappoint!

Have been 40+ times, always good, love wine program, but recently service needs kick in butt

One of our families favorite places. Everything is good, daily specials, burger, steaks, pastas, salads etc. Service always friendly, though recently it has been pretty lackadaisical, if it continues to slip they will ruin a great thing. Wine list is excellent, reasonable prices unlike most of NYC and lots of unusual wines. (You can also bring your own bottle for reasonable corkage). Desserts, small but great, and only $4. Above average kids menu as well.

Texas Lady visit's Landmark Restaurant

By marilyncolon |

Very trendy restaurant with excellent, eclectic food. Not an expansive menu, but many unusual items. i.e.: crispy sweetbreads, that were delicious. I do not recall if my iced tea was $5.00 or $8.00, but without being offered any refills, either way, it was expensive. The service was subpar. There were only two other tables seated when we arrived: it was early and not busy. It took almost 10 minutes before our table was approached for a drink order. Very slow service during dinner. We had to seek our waitress out to get our bill, and again to pay.

Overpriced and disappointing

By igr |

We went here for dinner with extended family. There were 11 people and even with a reservation, we were squeezed into a table more suited for 8. We started with several salads and some fries. The food was decent, but nothing special. The salad with shrimp did not have much flavor; the mediterranean salad was quite good, but simple and no better than what I make routinely at home. For the price and the hype of this restaurant, I would have expected something above average. For an entree I had the pasta of the night - linguine with white clam sauce. The serving was huge, but consisted of overly salted pasta with a lot of butter and a meagre number of baby clams arranged around the pasta. I ate the clams and left most of the pasta. It was not even worth a doggy bag. I have had MUCH better pasta with clam sauce at Mom & Pop Italian restaurants - for way less $$$. Others had the catch of the day, steak, mussels. The feedback on the catch of the day was that it was "OK" -and a bit chewy. The service, was also only OK - nothing special. The music was very loud so that it was impossible to speak with anyone at the table except for the person next to you. I am not from Manhattan, but I cannot imagine that there are not MANY better choices for dining out.I would avoid this restaurant and look elsewhere!

Sunday Brunch

By terrypotts |

Amazing food. Started with a Bellini, mimosa, Bloody Mary and a Prosecco for our table of 4. My daughter and her boyfriend had egg platters, my husband, a burger (naturally) and I had the spaghetti squash platter. All were delicious! We shared an order of the French toast. Don't miss out on this, if you have a chance. For dessert, ice cream and cotton candy. What else? :)

Overrated 'landmark'

By john p |

Food is OK - kind of mid-range for a city with the diversity and quality of New York. Seems to attract a crowd who like the view (which is very nice) and who want to seem cool. Service was slow and inconsistent. Servers who really didn't know the menu and couldn't quite remember who ordered what when the plates come to the table (which seems pretty basic). My biggest gripe was disingenuous management. They don't sell wine by the glass. Just half and full bottles. The waitress said it was because they wanted the wine to be "fresh". Really? This is 2014. You can keep wine fresh in so many ways. So... either management just wanted to force the customer to buy more wine than they want or they are so out of touch that they still think it is 1953. In either case, I'd skip it. There are so many better restaurants at the same price or lower within a few blocks.

Very good restaurant

By Luis S |

I had the Landmarc burger which was really good. They also have good draught beer, I had the IPA and was not disappointed. I was a regular customer of the Landmarc at the Columbus Circle, and this was my first time at their restaurant in Tribeca and I really liked it.

Good food and atmosphere

By bobi s |

A great place to meet up with friends. Lots of large round tables. We were a party of 6 and sat together with lots of room. The service was excellent. Great bar and friendly bartender. The restaurant is very comfortable for everyone...couples, families, groups of friends. Food was very good. Some unique choices that we enjoyed...bone marrow and pate. Love the idea of small desserts...buy the plate and share them all!

Great food, great location, a little pricy

By Lauren K |

Ate here with a friend recently while in town - he's a local. Our waitress was very good, and everything we had was wonderful. I had the burger and a mimosa, and it was fantastic. The prices are a bit high, but nothing terribly surprising for the city.

Marc who???? $80 for breakfast for 2.... Give this one a pass.

By LastSecondTraveller |

Nice atmosphere, nice view, nice service and the food is average. Of course it is hard to screw up OJ and eggs for breakfast. It is also hard to understand the tab; ours was $80 for 2 for breakfast. And we did not have anything unusual. It is typical New York, busy area, nothing special about the building, the view, the service, this is just an average restaurant with above average price tag. I understand it is a good "see and be seen" but frankly who cares, and this is Manhattan; there are thousands of good "see and be seen" places. This is a place that has "egg white & feta"; but when I ask for a western omelet the chef sent the server back to ask for clarification of the ingredients. What a farce. My guess is that the kitchen new what a western omelet was, they just wanted to make the point that it was below them to know the ingredients. Yea, the place is associated with Marc Murphy... one of the many entertainers on the food network. If being able to say "I eat at Marc Murphy's Landmarc restaurant" is your definition of a good meal or value, go ahead. But if you are looking for a good meal, and value for your money, go elsewhere.

Classy and Family Friendly

By Stefan D |

We wanted to sample some Tribeca atmosphere with our kids - this was a great find. Welcoming, great menu, flexible on the kids choices too. Great mix of customers in at 7:30 Thursday night, walked in, got a table for 4 upstairs. Soon filled up though after that. Really nice feel to the place - recommended.

Best Hamburger Ever...

By Bob P |

The food the ambiance the service...alll outstanding... a bit pricy, but I have to tell you that they serve the best $15 hamburger ever... (and it better be) We'd do it again...

Nice Meal

By Jim P |

We unfortunately ate here on Labour Day holiday as the place was packed. The Chicken Caesar salad that we both ordered was substantial and very appetising. Lots of noise from youngsters was a bit of a turnoff, but did not spoil our meal totally.

Great breakfast

By Alefandro |

Service ok, but the food was great. Breakfast was excellent and so where the salads. I went there twice last week for lunch and breakfast and the food was fantastic. Get a reservation on weekends.

Beautiful Space and Excellent Food!

By Littlemisstraveling |

Our party started with the shaved asparagus and oven dried tomato flatbreads, and the smoked mozzarella and ricotta flatbreads and they were sooooo good. I could have stopped right there and been perfectly satisfied, but I'm glad I didn't. I ordered the shredded zucchini with portobello mushrooms and oven dried tomatoes and it was TO-DIE-FOR! Honestly...it was like the best pasta dish ever...except there was no pasta. They shredded the zucchini so that they were like "noodles" and then they created a delicious sauce over the top with oven dried tomatoes and chunks of meaty portobello mushrooms. Oh my gosh, my mouth is watering just thinking about that dish. All of the deliciousness of an exquisite pasta dish without the heaviness or guilt! I can't wait to go back and order it again.

Rainy Day Lunch for Two

By Kate M |

In NY to visit with a dear friend, we arrived just in time for the business lunch crowd on a cold and rainy day with no reservation - and got a terrific table. Our waiter was outstanding - smart, articulate, professional and knowledgeable, he made wonderful food and wine recommendations. The food was outstanding - creative, seasonal, expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. From start to finish, a wonderful experience!

Some good and some bad

By Tia G |

It was a weird feeling when we arrived that no a single service staff can be found in the restaurant. We waited for a while until finally saw a girl and asked if there was table available. She said sure, but we had to wait for the host to seat us. I guess the all staffs were having a meeting back at the kitchen but it was really weird that no one was at his/her position. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and kitchen opens till late, ideal for both dinning and having some drinks. The person who waited our table was very polite. However, when I asked if it's possible to change a side of my main course into something else, he simply said 'you can have the dish without it'. That disappointed me a bit. BUT, the food tasted really good! Especially the sauce! That is the little detail which shows the quality of the chef.

Okay,but nothing special

By David A |

The title probably says it all. We went there to meet friends we had not seen if 2 years. The menu was extremely limited. It seems they made only one pasta per day which was extremely perplexing for one of our friends since the only pasta was a pasta bolognese and she was born in Bologna. The rest of the menu was small. The scallops were good, but not memorable. The wine list was diverse but any good wine was totally overpriced. All in all with all the great restaurants in NY I would not be in a rush to return here

Excellent dinner

By kimw |

My family ate here last weekend and it was excellent. I had a filet, another ordered salmon, another a burger and another pasta dish. We all very much enjoyed our entrees. Though I prefer more homemade fries than the ones that came with meal if there was one thing I could change. The value was good especially compared to some other restaurants. The server was attentive and friendly. It was an enjoyable experience and I would recommend.

definitely overrated if anyone rated it high!

By lkrocks |

ok...it seems it's a popular place... huge dining room was packed on this sunday afternoon but that led to a very noisy, frantic and not very pleasant atmosphere. i think that may have also been the reason our service was very spotty and impersonal...and it did not help that the food was terrible!!! a few people at our table returned their meal and the rest of us were not raving about ours....i am sure that with a high profile chef this was conceptualized as a great restaurant but someone must get in there and have a look at what is being served and how...ugh...don't bother!

Disappointing service

By MichelleVitt |

We were looking forward to this visit with kids - their kids menu is known to be excellent. Unfortunately, although the food was tasty, the service was disappointing. My daughter ordered pasta with Parmesan cheese. We asked for cheese four additional times, and she was almost done eating by the time they finally brought it out. The restaurant is overpriced for the type of food and definitely for the service provided.

Tribeca Gem

By Ruddy_Was_Here |

First, the staff here is impeccable. Malcolm really went the extra mile. It's nice to show up somewhere and be instant friends with the people who work there. The food was incredibly well prepared. The 16oz bone in rib eye was heaven. No really. I died, went to heaven, and then came back to life. I would go back for any occasion and I conveniently work nearby so I'm sure that will be very soon.

BEST. BURGER. EVER.

By Julia1810 |

The burger (with cheese) I had at Landmarc was THE BEST I had in NYC - actually the best I've had in my life! Cooked medium-rare as is the New York way, with fries/chips and salad, it's a big meal but oh so tasty!

Great Dinner

By lut5556 |

This was a great pick for dinner. The best word I can use for this place is 'solid.' The entire experience was what a person expects when going out for a meal. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and great food. It was the best dinner out we've had in a long time. I'm sorry I don't have more to say but we were so impressed that words fail me.

Great brunch, very kid friendly

By Angelo C |

Serves brunch and a lacarte menu. Offers very comfortable sitting. Has a kids menu with free cotton candy. I love the salmon tartare and egg Benedict.

So good we went TWICE !!

By Kinkynoodle |

We went to Landmarc as we didn't want to walk too far from our hotel, and boy what a find. The staff were exceptionally friendly the first time we went in, with an 11 year old. They even gave him some free homemade cotton candy ! This was for an evening meal, and the atmosphere was great, not to mention the food. I had the mussels which were very good, and my friends went for steaks. I tasted the strip steak and it was phenomenal. The second time we went in, there was just my and my wife and it was for lunch. I had the strip steak and it was the best I've ever had. Will definitely be going again when we next visit New York, and will recommend it above all others to friends visiting NYC.

soda ripoff

By richard s |

I have eaten at Landmarc Time Warner Center several times and have been very happy with the food, service, ambience and this last time something got to me that just annoyed me so that I needed to write this review. they charge a good hefty price for a glass of coke or other soda and the server nicely sees you are near the bottom and asks if you would like a refill. Certainly said I. To my surprise and consternation when we received the check we were charged for 2 cokes. Aside from the fact that the liquid served did not taste like coke cola, the price they charge for the first glass should cover and additional glass at no added charge. That beverage certainly has enough markup that a refill at no charge would be warranted

Lovely Menu...ALL Delicious

By TravelTruth |

Appetizers: Goat cheese profiteroles, mussels, ridiculously delicious bread. Entrees: Lamb Chops A+, Ribeye Steak A+, Seared Scallops A+! Add 2 bottles of Stags's Leap 2011Petite Syrah and throw in great service overall, (hostess has an exceptional personality), and these 3 little girl-piggies were VERY happy!

Food is good but service so slow

By abcwestport |

I've never seen a service so slow. Even to get yhe check, it was slow ! I had grilled chicken sandwich and it was really good. However the field greens were a bit over.

Not on the menu...

By trang h |

but treat yourself to the cotton candy du jour. They change the flavors up so make sure you ask the server when ordering your main course so you know to save room in your belly. Reservations only accepted for parties of 6 or more. Everyone has to be there to get seated but there's a great bar to start on cocktails while you wait.

Lovely restaurant, good service and very good food!

By Lacey L |

We had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. The menu wasn't too over powering with a ridiculous amount of choice, so we quickly decided what we wanted. I had eggs benedict with salmon and my husband had a virtuous egg white omelette with goats cheese and spinach. He enjoyed it very much considering the lack of calories and high health content of it!! I loved my eggs, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had a decent cup of breakfast tea and he got his green tea. The service was very good, with a polite and friendly waiter, who knew how to listen. We got a lovely table that overlooked central park, so were more than happy with our seating arrangements! Quality of food and presentation was excellent and clearly well thought about it. There is a lot of care and attention to detail here, so we would highly recommend!

What a waste!

By A-ABH90210 |

We met friends here for brunch on our last trip to NYC and couldn't believe how bad it was. Both the food and service were horrible. First, they seated us upstairs where we the only table. And, even though we were the only table, it took forever for the waitstaff to offer us drinks, take our orders, check on us, etc. The wait staff did not know the menu and was unable to answer our simple questions (does anything come with that, such as salad, fruit, fries, etc.?). When they brought out our order, half of us got dishes that were not as described by the waitress and trying to find the waitress or busboy to help us took more than 5 minutes; remember, we were the only customers there! When I got up from the table and went in to the service area, I found the busboy on his phone and he told me that he'd be there in a minute. And that's what it's like while he's on the job! The Croque Madame was neither traditional nor modern, it was just horrible. They finally just brought us oatmeals or granola or something which was fine. With so many fine establishments from which to choose in this great city, can't imagine why anyone would choose to dine here.

Excellent

By Chris P |

Recently had a very nice dinner with family and friends. Food and service were very good. The waiter recommended a drink to a friend that she didn't enjoy but readily took it back with no question. Lamb Shank was excellent. Would return for another visit.

Always great AND great for breakfast !

By 853mike |

Have been going to this place for quite some time but now found out that they also serve excellent breakfast! Always excellent quality and friendly staff. Great selection of half bottles. Very kids friendly.

Landmarc - TriBeca

By JackV1 |

Good food, excellent wine selection. Nice ambiance - Good looking people & great vibes. All in all a good experience!!!!

Very disappointing

By AberdeenMachar |

We arrived about 11pm on a Friday night and ordered burgers. We were asked how we wanted them cooked and we said medium. Well over 40 minutes later our burgers came charred on the outside and raw in the middle. The service was also very poor and we had to ask if we could have a table despite the restaurant not being busy.

OK if in the neighborhood...

By MyrellaCt_USA |

So there is a high end restaurant inside a mall!! But there are also two enormous Botero sculptures in the lobby, making this a specially pleasant stop. Since we were attending the Rose theater in the 5th floor it was a convenient place to try. The space is big and noisy and with tables open by the window view--but we were escorted to a dark inside table by a surly door greeter. I requested the window and got. It. The drinks were fine NY drinks ( for us Jack Danields sour and Apple Martini). The menu- heavy on Italian and red meats and fish- was interesting enough. The fresh cavatelli pasta was fresh and well prepared. The pork chop tasty and plentiful. Prices to match. An OK experience. Better than the usual food court!!! PS: I agree that bread has to improve...

Excellent food, we went twice

By Nancy V |

The Landmarc was recommended to me by a friend and I was really positively surprised. You can find many European dishes on the menu such as steak tartare, mussels, goat cheese profiteroles, crème brûlée etc. This was a welcome alternative after the steakhouses and typical US restaurants. The service was very good and they offer good wines. In fact we visited the 2 restaurants in NY, at Columbus Circle and in TriBeCa. The 2 restaurants offer the same menu, but the ambience is totally different. The restaurant at Columbus Circle is much bigger and is very popular, so you have much more noise. The one in TriBeCa is very cosy, so gets my preference. We really enjoyed our dinner and the fact that we went twice is an excellent proof of that. Put the Landmarc high on your NY restaurant list!

Lovely food

By Andythechef |

We ate here after visiting the 9/11 memorial and museum in N/Y. A lovely restarant good food and service from start to finish. Would really recommend. My only criticism is that the air conditioning was switched up a bit high so when coming in from the hot New York weather the temperature was a bit cold to just sit and eat. I had to ask the serving staff twice to turn the A/C down as we were cold.

Disapointing

By sovta |

Despite the very high prices the bottle of wine we selected from the menu was unavailable. The waitress suggested another that was $20 more. They were out of tonic for a mixed drink we ordered. The restaurant was quite cold and the waitress admitted she was cold too. It remained cold throughout our meal. The food we ordered was delicious and nicely presented. Portion size was adequate.

Awesome!

By Ann-Marie M |

The concierge at our hotel recommended it. Everything was perfect. We were seated right away; they could handle a young child; the food - including the kid's Mac and cheese - was awesome. The service was perfect. Highly recommend.

very disappointing

By Ma G |

service is terrible, food mediocre, overall a very disappointing experience. they ignored us for at least 20 minutes, then we had to call them twice to get them to bring the wine we had ordered. the (white) wine finally arrived but was not cold. the food was way below average - their lamb burger was tough and not tasty at all, the fries clearly not home made, and the service unprofessional and uncaring throughout the dinner. never going back.

Misses Mark

By Carol F |

Dined here on Wednesday evening w/my cousin. Starters (onion soup and peppers) and main courses (lamb shank and pasta du jour) were devoid of flavor. Very disappointing.

Great food and atmosphere

By MICHAEL ASHWORTH |

The Tribeca version has a much better vibe than the midtown Landmarc. There's a cool circular bar at which 6 can sit and drink or eat and then a set of tables and booths tightly packed. Noise levels are good though and the service is friendly and efficient The foie gras starter was decent. It the Coq Au vin was excellent and the sides of green beans and Brussel sprouts were tasty Wine menu is extensive and in some cases expensive but the choices are very well selected Dessert of ice cream in cones rounded off a delightful evening Highly recommended

Upscale location, good crowd, food just ok $$$$$$$

By Sirena1234 |

This was a birthday celebration, and we were 4 people. We shared 2 bottles of wine. One in our party had the French Onion soup, average at best. 3 shared the mussels. 2 shared the bone marrow & 2 shared the ricotta fritter appetizers. I was told the bone marrow & mussels were very tasty. I had the ricotta fritter which had an odd taste, not very good. The bread was Fabulous!! 2 of us had the Veal porterhouse with the fig tapenade. This entrée came with a gigantic pile of bitter watercress with very little lemon dressing, which did not improve this raw green. (Would like to go on Chopped and serve that to Marc Murphy, bet he wouldn't like it) The veal was tender and cooked well. The tapenade didn't elevate the veal at all. It almost didn't go with it. Eric had the lamb shank which he said was dry, and average. Larry had the hangar steak which he did not like and traded Nick for his Veal. This not great meal was very expensive and not really worth it. Overall I can understand why this is rated 2900 on Tripadvisor.

Many restaurants in NYC to select from, but I liked Landmarc

By SVandBeyond |

Our party of four friends/colleagues were in Manhattan on business. We found Landmarc on Yelp and it received a 4.5 solid-star rating derived from many reviews. The service was friendly and great, and the food was outstanding. One of my friends had the Roasted Marrow Bones appetizer and found it to be delicious. I had the meatball appetizer which was served with a fabulous tomato-based sauce. If it would have been socially acceptable to lick the plate, I would have. I had never tried Branzino (which is a fish that I describe as a cross between halibut and tilapia) before, and I am now a fan of the Branzino! I only wish I could find it on the West Coast. If you are near the TriBeCa area, definitely give LandMarc a go!

Crazy packed and great food

By Sherrie L |

Saturday night by 6:30 the place was completely packed. We had res for 7:30 but met early for drinks. Standing room only in the bar but a perfect martini. Steaks were great perfectly cooked with nice sauces to chose from. Unnecessary amount of greens, undressed as well, but all the sides were delicious that were ordered extra. All generations and a few celebs scattered in between tourists. Happening place. Good value.

Great food and great service

By Emmagreatrex |

My husband, one year old daughter and I hadn't planned to go to the Landmarc in the Time Warner Center, but we are very glad we did! It was a very hot Friday at the end of May and very busy, but when we arrived with our daughter in a stroller, the guys at the entrance were really helpful and found us a table straight away. We were given a high chair as we had to leave the stroller outside (which was fine) and our daughter was given a children's menu which had a black and white picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa on the back and two colouring crayons and we were asked if she wanted a cup of water, which we said yes to, and she was bought a small plastic cup with a lid and a straw, which was excellent for her! We had a chicken liver mousse to share to start with some bread which was amazing. My husband ordered the chicken club sandwich which was great and I ordered the croque monsieur, which wasn't quite what I expected - I had expected it to be in a sandwich and the sandwich to be toasted, and it came as a slice of ham and cheese which had been put on a doorstop piece of bread and toasted. Nevertheless, it was still lovely. The service was excellent and the lady who served us was very pleasant. We would certainly go back next time we are in NYC.

Dependable option

By TGMerrill |

Landmarc is an established Tribeca eatery that won't knock your socks off but offers decent fare (particularly meats) and provides a good option for entertaining friends. Desserts are a highlight. The portions are sample size - $4 a pop. But, for $20 you get to sample all of them!

Uninspired breakfast

By JustUs03 |

An impromptu selection over Bouchon. Can't say we were impressed. Fairly tasteless eggs. Slightly bitter/ strong coffee. Service was sorely, sorely lacking especially given how empty the restaurant was. Would not consider returning.

Excellent food, good value

By Andy J |

Really enjoyed it here. Fried calamares, I always have that as a starter, good, and main course pork chop excellent. Wine list has a good selection of well-priced bottles. Service is friendly and efficient.

Bustling and bubbly

By Middleburg Wanderer |

We just walked in and got a table but it was pretty packed. Our food order was taken nice and quick and arrived not too slow not too fast. And it was very good, as were the wines. Not unusually for the city the tables were close together so it's pretty intimate. But that's fine. Certainly recommended.

Excellent!

By Annii M |

Great for dinner with friends, or as a couple. Just on the pricey side of things, but not too much. Always busy, but never TOO busy that you have to book. Have the steak - its a must!

Food is just average.

By R M |

The wait between each course was very long. Server was nice but didn't make up for the slowness. Bone marrow wasn't served properly and the sorbet was just a chunk of ice. Overpriced.

Mediocre food and service

By Michele N |

They draw the crowd and therefore care less about quality of food and their attitude about service. We were there over Thanksgiving. I had the Friday night pasta special, pasta with mussels. It was tasteless. Husband had a fillet. Have had much better steaks from Sam's Club. The server never came back to ask about our meal. The people of NY will wake up eventually and eliminate this place. There are too many good restaurants in NYC. Don't bother with this one!

Excellent meal

By Feezeeweezee |

My husband and i ate here last night and the food and service were faultless. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

A cute spot with good food. Not a must see.

By irishupfl |

My husband and I ate here on a recent trip into NYC. We picked Landmarc because of its rating on Zagat and I must say it didn't live up to the hype. It was good -- the food quality was good but not great. It is a very small place so half the time the table busers are hovering over your or around your table to whisk plates away. Which would be great except for the fact that all the hovering makes you feel rushed. Our waiter was great, friendly and informative on the food. All in all it is a good spot but not sure I will seek it out on my next trip up.

Great Service, Excellent Steak

By Sari S |

A tiny little neighborhood restaurant downtown, three out of the four of us tried steaks and loved them. I had the spaghetti Bolognese and it was good, but more like an American style meat sauce than a true Bolognese. I was more blown away by my start and finish. I started with a Burnt Orange Negroni made with Aperol instead of Campari and it was sublime. There signature desserts are housemade ice-creams in sugar cones. I had mint chocolate chip, also sublime with tons of good quality dark chocolate and strong mint flavor. We were prime time on a Saturday night and in spite of being extremely busy, the service was great.

Excellent spot if lone diner

Good food on Broadway

By Jens-Erik H |

Another pick by our son. Arrived around 4PM, had planned for late lunch, but went for an early dinner - good decision ;-) . We had lambchops, steaks and salmon - all nicely arranged on the plate - and all tasted SUPERB ;-) served by nice staff.

Mini mussels mini desserts

By Noe12 |

We had dinner. Wine is not available by the glass. The wine list does offer an extensive choice of half bottles, but if you do enjoy pairing wine with your meal, it becomes far more challenging! We ordered seared tuna Nicoise: it had a delicious balance of strong anchovies and tasty tuna in a light vinaigrette. The mussels: shallots, parsley, white wine were very good, light and not an overwhelming on the shallots- but the portion was very small; it should be an appetizer. The bread was average; the quality of the bread should match the quality of the sauce-no whole wheat either! Desserts are very small, may be two teaspoons! The chocolate mousse was very mild, and the tiramisu was a little too soggy.

Delightful

By LadiesVoices |

I went to the bar at the Landmarc with a couple of friends and we had such a delightful time. It was surprisingly reasonable, for the location. Plus our server, John, was charming and totally on the spot.

I Love the Burger

By Wayne Centrone |

Don't let the poor reviews dissuade you - the burger at the Landmarc is awesome! Whenever I am in Manhattan - I go to the Landmarc. I have a routine I like I follow when I am in the city. It goes something like this - I almost always stay at the Aloft Harlem Hotel. I walk down Fredrick Douglas Boulevard to Central Park west and then all the way down to the Time Warner building. This is a great late summer, early evening stroll. Really delightful. When I arrive at the restaurant, I always ask to sit at the bar (they have these great really grand wooden tables with log stump seats). I order a big bold red (Argentinian malbec) and then a burger, side of bacon, side of fries and a salad accompaniment. I eat while reading in the dim light of the bar - often using the "flashlight Ap" on my iPhone. A couple of hours later - after having finished the entirety of my meal - I call it quits and put my fork down. I then roll out of the restaurant and hobble to the curb to take a cab back to the Aloft hotel. Wow, that is a great night. The only thing that would make it any better is to play out that same routine with my beautiful wife and our lovely daughter.

wonderful food, great views, extremely kid friendly

By Louis G |

Views of central park are great from the time warner center, and food is wonderful. The big surprise was the wonderful kids menu, and the conmplimentary cotton candy for my grandkids. The lunches were different and very tasty

Great meal, nice vibe, I go every time

By Diego C |

I've been to Manhattan a couple of times recently from London on business, and one of my colleagues has become somewhat of a regular at the Landmarc in Tribeca. I've been over there both times (3 times in total!) and I have been very happy with my experience there on each occasion. The steak is great, really great, and the salads/fries and other accompaniments are also top quality. The wine list is plentiful and high quality and they make some mean cocktails! I've sat at a table and I've also sat around the small cosy circular bar, and unless you want some privacy I'd highly recommend the bar. It's very social, you end up chatting away with the other diners, and with the staff who are friendly, and knowledgeable with regards the products they serve. Highly recommended from my perspective, and although not cheap at all, well worth going there.

Great service, Great steak

By WagnerExplorations |

We had a very enjoyable dinner due to the great service. The steak was the best we had in NYC. The lasagna and salads were enjoyable. Avoid the salmon. We would return to this restaurant especially if in the mood for beef.

Great for group dining

We came for dinner on a weekend night. The appetizers and entrees were all great, no complaints. I ordered filet mignon medium and it was perfectly cooked. There were a few different choices for sauce. The shallot red wine sauce was very good. We were too full to order dessert. Several of us ordered sangria and it was only served by the glass. We would have ordered it by the pitcher if it was offered. The service was attentive. We hope to return for dinner soon.

Excellent food, wine, service and atmosphere

We enjoyed a great evening with friends at Landmarc. The wine list was great and we received excellent recommendations from the bar man. Our starters and main courses were also great. The desserts were delicious, but small

Brunch on a Saturday

By Suman M |

We went there with our 2 years old because it was listed on google search as kids friendly restaurant. It was! We had brunch outside and changed table in the middle of the meal. Staff did everything happily and brought crayons for my son to keep him occupied. Service was fast and food was good! Only thing I did not like was my drink but other than that an enjoyable experience.

Landmarc on west broadway

By Pichona58 |

The worst experience of our trip. Rude waitress, the"chef" drinking at the bar with a friend instead of cooking. Horrible service, worst than mediocre food.

Great!

What a great restaurant! Our server was outstanding and very attentive. The menu offered some interesting choices, and the food was extremely tasty! They were also attentive to food allergies which I really appreciated. A great neighbourhood gem.

Would have been chopped

Ordered the mussels in white wine...A favorite of mine. 4 mussels had sand in them. ... need I say chopped. My friends carbonates was just average. Sugar Free sorbet to end the meal was the best part.

Downward spiral...,

Live in the neighborhood and have gone here for years however in the last 12 months both the good and service is well below par and the attitude of the management seems to be "whatever" especially when you comment on the food still being frozen or the steak is like rubber... Luckily on the top floor there is the stone rise and a great steak house which we now frequent

Landmarc for Lunch

While shopping at Columbus Circle, Landmarc for Lunch is so fitting. The restaurant provides a wonderful respite from shopping and delivers on light but delicious lunch dishes.

Trendy and Expensive but Good

By Larry-Pattie |

Holiday get together with a couple of friends found us here on a Sunday afternoon. Great fare and did not rush us off table which was unexpected in a NYC trendy spot. Lunch was expensive - no surprise considering the address. But two salads (shrimp added), 2 appetizers, 1/2 bottle 'inexpensive' wine, 3 cappuccino's - $150 before tip. All outstanding however and this is the price of a good lunch in NY at a popular place. Busy and a bit noisy and more kids that I would have guessed.,

Pleasant but noisy place for Brunch

By jbgshrink |

We were at a conference in the neighborhood and made a reservation here for lunch. The downstairs was much smaller than I had imagined but was pleasant and our waiter was nice and helpful. I ordered mussels with a dijonaise sauce. The dish was good but pricey at $25. not even including fries. My friend had an omelet which she liked. We ended our meal sharing a blueberry crumble, which was tiny and mediocre. All in all, it was fine but not special as I had anticipated.

Landmarc delivers - great food great price

Visited Landmarc for a second time on a recent trip to NYC. Love the quiet atmosphere, solid menu of good bistro food and decently priced half bottles of wine. We had hanger steak, steak tartare and lamb - all delicious and perfectly cooked. Waiter was very attentive and it was a great experience for our whole family (brought our teenagers this time - they loved it).

Always there ran or shine early or late

Good, but could have been better

By TheRealAwaxy |

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars for Landmarc. On one hand, the overall experience was good. On the other, I expected more from a Marc Murphy-owned restaurant. We were in NYC to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I noted this in the Open Table reservation. Our group of 4 enjoyed sharing both the octopus and salmon crudo apps. Both presentations were beautiful, the octopus tender, and the salmon flavorful. Mains were a mixed bag - the fish special of the day - swordfish - was excellent, mussels in white wine broth were OK - 4 or 5 didn't open and several were gritty, veal Milanese had a bit too much fat on it and some tough spots, linguini with clams was quite good with perfectly al dente pasta. Our server was quite knowledgeable and friendly, but she kind of disappeared during the middle of the meal. I guess the restaurant had gotten busier. I would have told her about all the unopened mussels had she stopped by to check on us. Had an excellent bottle of vermentino and well priced at $36! Kudos for that! Also had a half-bottle of falanghina for $26 that was not nearly as good as the vermentino. At the end of the meal, our server came back. When I told her about the mussels, she immediately offered to get me some more, but by then we had all finished our entrees. We saw cotton candy at several tables and asked about it. She said it started as a treat for children but had expanded to be given to tables with special occasions or those who asked for it. There was no mention of our anniversary. So - was it good? Yes. Could it have been better? Most definitely.

food was very good, pity about the waitress

By nicolas s |

we started ordering and the waitress was not writing . then she came back announcing that the wine bottle we had chosen was out of stock. fine. then she came back verifying the order . and she looked distracted. the starter came out all right , then we waited quite a while for the mains. one arrived and did not look right. when mine arrived it was wrong, so we realised they were both wrong. we started complaining and the manager arrived indicating it had been an error from the server . we said that we thought that the waitress attitude was wrong from the start. both starter and main were really good and the lady at the entrance from Bangladesh was delightful and professional. the manager did not charge us for the starter and coffee since we saw how annoyed we had been. pity since we knew Landmark at Time warner and were not expecting such a poor service

Great food, great service!

Fantastic food and fabulous service - Ask for Elphin amazing server! Restaurant seemed very child friendly.

Great breakfast place for kids

By Mark B |

The location in Tribeca and/or the location by Central Park are both great for kids. We love the brunch and the noise level. Staff at both places has been pretty phenomanel too. Thumbs up.

Consistently good dining experience in Tribeca

By FrankFromNYC |

Marc Murphy's downtown Landmarc delivers each and every visit. Great American menu--steaks (with a variety of sauce options), fish, salads (tuna nicoise is tasty), mussels (I really like the saffron and wine sauce) and nightly pasta special (my favorite is the Friday night linguini vongole). Great wine and cocktails, particularly my favorite dirty vodka martinis with extra olives. Ambience works for couples, small groups and families. Service is consistently good. My wife and I will continue to recommend and return.

One of my favorite places to eat

By Kenneth T |

I've been coming to this location for about 8 years. It's restaurant is a little cramped even with the upstairs seating, I wish they would spread the seating out more. The food is great and I never have any issues and service is always friendly and checking on you. My only complaint is that they don't bring you bread and butter automatically unless you ask for it but it's pretty minor. One year, I came with my former fiancé on thanksgiving for lunch because we had nothing to do until dinner and were surprised at how good their thanksgiving platter was. Typically when you think of thanksgiving platters, you think of over cooked dried out food that was cooked in bulk but this was far from it. Ever since that experience, I've been a huge fan.

Birthday dinner

Went here for an early dinner as we had small children with us. The wait staff were very efficient and had organized high chairs for them. I ate a steak commended by them and enjoyed it very much. The appetizers were also Delhi cious

Our neighbors told us about this special place

By Timothy5 |

Great service and wonderful tastes. Mussels in white wine and the tuna nicoise salad were both succulent. Never had octopus before and enjoyed it. The warm goat cheese profiteroles were a bit bland. The New York cheeses and dessert tray were incredible. Monday nights they have a special on bottles of wine at $26.

Really kids friendly

Great food and nice atmosphere, really kids friendly! I was there with my 6 yrsbold son and he even got a cotton candy at the end!

Very nice place to grab a bite

By Lee G |

We were tired from walking all day and decided to grab a late lunch. The food was very good. But the service was excellent. Our server told us of many place to go to and we decided on a great tapas restaurant, her recommendation was spot on!!

Intimate seating, good food.

In trying to find a place for a last dinner in NYC, we landed at Landmarc. We had made a reservation, just in case it was packed. Most of the tables were full, but we were seated right away at our reservation time of 7PM. The lighting is low and our table was cute little table for two. The cocktail list was good. We each selected something. The menu resembled a folded map. My husband ordered a steak dinner. He loved it (The one bite I got to try was very good!) Nice size and reasonable price of $38 in NYC. I ordered two appetizers for my meal. First, the salmon crudo. The presentation was great, the beets were great, but the salmon tasted very fishy like it was stored improperly in a fridge next to something fishy? I've eaten lots of salmon and never had it taste so fishy. Overall, the dish was ok. Secondly, I ordered the mozzarella and ricotta fritters. These were amazing! Fried crispy with Parmesan over the top. There was a slightly spicy tomato sauce to go with them. For dessert, we were too full to have anything at the table and instead got the "one of each" to go. They packed up chocolate mousse, blueberry cobbler, lemon tart, creme brulee, nutella eclair. We ate them later after walking back to our hotel. All were great, except the nutella eclair. It just tasted doughy and the nutella filling looked like chocolate pudding that was squishing out. Overall, a quaint place with good food. For dinner, drinks, dessert it was $120ish without the tip.

Terrible service; OK food

By TheProf06 |

Were seated promptly. Someone threw two menus on the table (4x6 folded piece of paper) without even a greeting. It was at least 5 minutes before a server came to greet us and take our drink orders. Bread was over baked, very hard, and nearly impossible to eat. Do not recommend eating here.

Our Friend's "Favourite Restaurant" in all of NYC

By Linda N |

We went to NYC at the end of Feb to see two operas at the Met and to celebrate a friend's birthday. He took us here, saying it is his favourite place. Now, a few caveats. We went after the opera so it was late and I didn't feel like eating too much. But the food was great. He loves the chicken burgers, the rest of us had their amazing salads. Only problem? the music was way too loud and kept changing volume. This is a very difficult place to find, as it is in a shopping mall. But once you find it, the food is good.

Cozy neighborhood spot for lunch or a drink

By slsnyc |

Landmarc is often my go to place for meeting colleagues for lunch or a drink. The staff are very friendly and the service is always good. I'm a particular fan of their salads. The desserts are also quite delicious. It's also a great place for a drink. The small bar in the back doesn't have many seats, but I really like the spot.

Family friendly. Good ambiance. Good wine selection. The food was not exceptional but still quite good. Try the lamb meatballs.

Nice ambience & service

By Aimz78 |

Went here for Brunch on Saturday with my husband. The place is pretty and the service was good. My husband loves their little extra touches like the melted butter for the toast. We sat by the window with the view of Central Park south - it was beautiful. We never had to ask for the water to be refilled. The food was fresh and good. The place itself was very interestingly decorated with a few off to the side booths. the bathroom is clean and modern. The only let down is the hostess staff by the front door. We had a reservation and when we approached them we felt like we interrupted their gossips - there wasn't a hello or a smile. When we told them we had the reservation - they didn't even look it up or care. Our waitress on the other hand was very attentive. Too bad the front of the house isn't as friendly as they should have been. Management should really look into this.

Worth a second visit

By JordanHunter |

BEAUTIFUL restaurant hidden in time warner center. Great bar area and a great view (for NYC, that is). Discovered it from a colleague who used to work there. Been here for drinks late night and for lunch with my mother. I have to say the space is much more attractive when it is not mobbed. There are a ton of free standing two tops and it can get very hot and hectic in there during prime time. You must check your bags/jackets and any luggage you may have or you will feel like an idiot because there is nowhere to put/hide it. They have a wonderful wine list, however, they do not offer BTG- only half and full bottles. For someone like me, this is completely fine, but for a a single diner or a couple who does not drink much, it can be difficult. The price point for the half bottles, however, is pretty low! So they are accessible. Anyway, really good variety. Bread was Ok.. Could have been better. sliced better and warmer. My moms French onion soup was good but nothing out of the ordinary. My octopus salad was OK, but I would have preferred that the octopus was not cut into such tiny pieces. I also feel it was a bit overcooked, but I am not the type to complain, especially during a busy lunch service in midtown. Service was fine. I think it would be a much better atmosphere for dinner. The bar/lounge area is super attractive. They also have these great hidden alcove tables - looks like it could be for a party of 5 or so. I would LOVE to have dinner with friends there. All in all, worth a second visit. For dinner.

Interesting American/Fusion Lunch spot with great shopping

By sherring101 |

Located in Lincoln Center across the street fromCentral Park, we had great salads, interesting appetizers and a quiet, professional atmospshere. Tucked away quietly above a few dozen great shops in the mall, we were impressed with the casual feel mixed with upscale presentation of light fare at 50 bucks for great local brew and lunch for two!

My favorite

Every time we come to NYC, we make our way to Landmarc. Great atmosphere, great food. Definitely a favorite.

One of my faves in NY

By Diego C |

I tend to have one visit to Landmarc each time I'm in NY. And so I went last week, with high expectations and I was not disappointed. Started the evening with a couple of Manhattan's and moved on to lamb chops (very very tasty) with a couple of bottles of red. There were 4 of us dining and we all enjoyed it without exception. We sat around the bar for dinner which is very sociable. It isn't what I'd call fine dining, but it can get quite expensive depending on which and how many wines you have. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Not impressed at all, plus was too pricy

By Ejruiz |

Went there for breakfast on Thanksgiving day. Service was good, very friendly waiter. However, we were not impressed with the quality of the food. Nothing special at all! I suggest they get a better breakfast chef. Food was very expensive for the portions and lack of complexity of the plates. Very pricy. The check for two omelets, pancakes, waffles, juices and coffees, including tip, was ~$170. They had a viewing room for the Macy's parade but it was too crowded to enjoy comfortably; we ended up at street level after a few minutes. Will not return.

Great Find!

By SueBlue962 |

We were in the city for the weekend celebrating Valentine's/ President's Days with friends and decided to stay a little longer and have a late lunch, but where to eat?! We were in the Tribeca neighborhood and our friends suggested another place, but I had recently dined there and suggested we walk a little and see what we could find. Well, we found a real gem. We walked in seeking warmth and some comfort food and got both and more. The hostess greeted us warmly and said no reservations no worries. We opted to dine upstairs and she sat us at a comfy table with a nice view of W. Broadway. Our waiter was super, attentive, and had just the right amount of humor. There were several interesting items on the menu that made our selections hard to make. So lunch, not brunch and all of us enjoyed our meals tremendously. My lamb burger was yummy and so were the seasoned fries that came with it. I splurged..no salad for me. Some of us were not happy with the small size of the desserts (priced accordingly), but admitted that they were delicious. And to receive some of their homemade caramels with your check was an added bonus.
