We were visiting NY from Utah and asked around for great sit down pizza. They did not disappoint. The customer service was above and beyond as they opened their doors 40 minutes early to allow to eat and still make our bus back to DC. The waiter had been with them 30 years and was very attentive and entertaining. They made us food they hadn't planned to serve that morning and it was excellent. By far the best place we ate during this trip. We loved the garlic squares, pizza and calzones. But again it was the customer service that made it the best of the trip.

Let me start out by saying that the food is outstanding. I came here with two of my friends on a Tuesday night it was around eight o'clock and we were seated by a lovely young lady who also took very good care of us. She was such a delight. Very pleasant and funny. She kept conversation with us and toasted a glass of water with us as we asked her to have wine with us which was understandable no drinking on the job. I would have to say this is the best service i have had in NYC. If you get the chance to go to Lazzara's definitely take the time to do so and make sure you ask for Lou Lou you won't be disappointed.

The flavor profile was outstanding. Some chef in South Florida needs to sample this and bring it home.

We found this restaurant by pure accident. Frankly, we were drawn in by the posted menu featuring some interesting dishes and very reasonable prices for the area. Neither my wife nor I ordered drinks and there was no pressure to do so. Instead, water glasses were filled regularly. Notwithstanding the web site, most entrees come with both salad and pasta. Dressings for the salad are either Italian or Caesar. I strongly recommend the latter -- even my wife, not normally a Caesar fan, loved it. I ordered the Chicken Lazzaro for$13.95. It was a very large portion of moist pounded chicken breast served with delicious sliced shiitake mushrooms in a wonderful light Marsala sauce. It was absolutely delicious. My wife had the grilled salmon special for $14.95. Also a generous serving, accompanied by either sautéed spinach or broccoli. She was quite pleased. With the dinner, we also received a nice basket of delicious fresh, crusty bread. It was even refilled after I ate more than I should have. Both of us were quite overwhelmed by the quality, quantity and value of this restaurant. If we were not out-of-owners, we would be weekly customers. Bravo.

Just happened to be walking by and decided to stop in for lunch the pizza was amazing and also had the garlic squares that were very good if you like a strong garlic flavor like I do.. Highly recommend will be back before my trip ends defiantly

Super popular restaurant for good reason. Great food, generous servings. Pizzas obviously but also pasta, salads, and 3v desserts.

Offering really great tasting square cut pizzas this little place is a definite recommend to eat in or takeaway, very tasty!

The food was ok but nothing special. I had hoped for WAY more. Liked the choices and the square slices but really wanted to be blown away and it was NOT that. Kind of expensive for how average the food was.

We made a reservation by Opentable, but didn't advise us tnat kitchen closes at 9 pm. We arrived at 0830 and they told us that kitchen was almost closing but waiters let us get a table. Pizza is really supreme, thin crust, sauce is really delicious and flavors are really good. Prices are reasonable. Good choice, but better to arrive before 8pm.

Not sure how you run out of drinks. The pizza was exceptional. However, soft drinks are served in cans and apparently the day I came, they were out of Coke and Diet Coke. That is usually a back of house issue. Management needs to stay on top of the ordering/inventory issues. I would return the wait staff was friendly.

This place have great pizza. We loved it very much. New York is famous for its pizza but this is outstanding.

One of the Best Pizza's in the City , Tasty, Well priced Great Location in the garment District , Business Lunch, Delivery to the office Just Great

Found this place after looking to eat near our hotel on 7th Avenue. Pizzas were great, lovely thin crusts and a half portion was more than adequate. Tiramisu was excellent and service very good. I’d definately go there again.

Recommended from the Refinery hotel. Had 11 people eat dinner before heading out to a broadway show. Pre-ordered to accomodate the group within a timely manner. Delicious pizza, on an authentic crust. Traditional toppings, and reasonable prices. Restaurant is not too big, only 1 washroom, ran out of Coors Light. All in all, good experience with friendly and efficient service.

This small pizza café is located in a second floor space and was recommended to us by the concierge from the Archer. Service was just fine. The waiter was attentive enough and our food was delivered quickly and warm. Prices and food were great! Honestly, probably the best meal that I had during my stay in New York.

We visited Lazzaro’s on recommendation of a work colleague on night one of our recent trip to New York. So glad we did. This little gem is within walking distance of Times Square, I think just into the garment district area. The street itself is very non-descript, and there is no way we would have just stumbled upon it, thank goodness for Google Maps! You enter via a steep set of stairs, through a curtain, and you are greeted with a small restaurant packed with atmosphere. Even more so when some locals are in for a big birthday party, taking in up most of the restaurant. We were seated quickly, as fortunately we arrived just as someone left. We had water served to the table, and ordered a bottle of wine. Us three women all ordered a ‘half’ pizza which is as it was described, and exactly half the price of the whole pizza. The pizza is served pre-sliced in a square pan, a very unique shape for classic Italian pizza. The ingredients all tasted fresh; we had the classic margarita, Lazzaro’s special, and ham & pineapple. What set it apart was the fresh and authentic tomato sauce, and they do not go overboard with the cheese. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience, though be aware that this a very small space so it appears that you could be placed just an inch from someone else’s table, they really have to utilise every bit of floor space to get the guests in.

Great great thin crust pizza, square pieces. But the location is horrible, so dark, almost no windows, feel like it's in a huge closet it's so shut-out from the outside world. Needs to be updated in the inside to be more inviting. With food that good, they should have a line! Perfect to order out!

Walk up the stairs to a great Italian / Pizza place. Went there because of the rating on Barstool Sports. I was not disappointed. Great cheese pizza and awesome cannoli. Friendly staff and will go back next time I’m in town.

Like others who rated it average, better pizza can be found elsewhere. Service wasn't bad, not attentive and not very happy to be there.

excellent food. strip scampi, veal farm and lobster ravioli. quaint little spot on second floor. lazarus never fails. highly recommended. a diamond in the rough.

Stopped in for a quick Friday night dinner. Had the mixed green salad with UNBELIEVABLE house dressing. Wish they sold it. And, the pepperoni pizza made this a heavenly meal. Nice service, quaint (think Gangster like) dining room bespoke of NYC days gone by. Excellent!

I read some reviews saying that this place was terrible. I couldn't disagree more. The place was small and had shorter opening hours than most of the restaurants in NYC. The food was delicious. I had the seafood pizza and it was divine. It wasn't smothered in cheese either. Would recommend and will definately be back! The food was really reasonably priced, as was the wine!

Great ambience...little hole in the wall. I had the half pepperoni pizza, it was great. Served in a rectangular pan, thin crust...good stuff. Would definitely go back.

An excellent place to go closed to Times Square with very goods pizzas & friendly waiters. Fresh vegetables and organic products.

Cos-ah atmosphere, f I’ll bar and the best thin crust pizzas in town have kept this place in business for 30 years. The pastas were great too. Service was a little off when were were there but the quality of the food will get us there again

Stayed at the Moxy and this spot right up the street around the corner. Delicious pizza, nice atmosphere and great value.

Visited here twice on our 6 day break. It was an accidental find but was a brilliant one. Don't be put off by the outside appearance - once you get inside the food is amazing, the staff are really friendly and accommodating and do whatever they can to help. The food is not overly expensive and is incredibly filling. The pizzas really are something else too. Definitely worth a visit. Will definitely be on my list should I ever return to NYC.

What a find this place was. We visited with a friend after our wedding in NYC. The food, ambiance and staff were superb. The freshest nicest pizza I've eaten and the drinks were really cold, a godsend on a hot day. The whole place looked great, I wonder if the walls could talk what stories they'd tell. If you're near Penn Station try this place out, you won't be disappointed

I like it Pasta is extrrmely dslicious the pizza is crusty and very good I defenitely recommend it The adress is wrong .. Iy is in the intersection of 38th with 7th avenue .. Not the 5th avenue

I came into Lazzara's with a friend and was completely surprised. The workers were so kind and attentive and the food came out so fast! The pizza came out in a square sheet pan and was so thin it was amazing! Perfect for two people to split. The wine list was extensive and the prices were reasonable. It's tough to get a memorable slice of pizza in NY because the market for it is so large. However, I am so glad that I tried Lazzara's Pizza Cafe because it will be my go-to whenever I am in Midtown.

I have only had the pizza here and it is simply amazing. The bread is crispy, the sauce is amazingly tasty, and the cheese is melted perfectly. The pizza are square and pretty small so a regular pie for 2 is perfect. The cheesecake was also very good. It's a small restaurant and it's located up stairs so you should make a reservation if you can. It's kind of hidden but if found, totally worth it!

Underwhelming - staff weren’t particularly friendly, and the pizza was average at best, only slightly better than an oven pizza at home

Very old school italian pizza establishment and been around for years. Exterior does not look so appealing and you feel like you are entering someones front door but inside its good. Pizzas come in rectangle shaped dish and you can order a whole pie or half a pie depending on your appetite, they do many other dishes besides. This was recommended to use by a friend who lives in Queens and eats here when she is on the island. Everything is reasonably priced and good value.

Have been to Lazzara’s many times. Food has been great. Service has been great. Today we ordered two salads and a pizza. When we arrived, there were four other tables being served. We received our salads, no pizza. After the tables around us all received their pizza, having come in after us.....it took five minutes to flag down the waiter to ask where our pizza was. They lost our order. SAD!!! They also charge for using a credit card. Will not return!!!

We found this place on our last night in NYC when we were so tired, we just wanted a decent slice of pizza and to be able to sit down. Lazzara's was the perfect choice. If you didn't know to look for it, you could easily pass by. You'll walk up the stairs to the second floor of an old (apartment?) building and you'll find yourself in a space that has been converted into a small, casual, dining room. The menu is pretty robust, but 2 of us had the pizza (thin crust) and one ordered the fettuccini alfredo. We were all very happy with our meals and agreed that we'd come back the next time we're in the area. The only drawback was the music that was playing. It would have been better suited for a really loud concert, not this lovely restaurant in these historic surroundings.

Nice pizza, reasonably priced, good service. Try the Harris' special! Pecan pie looked good too. Also the option of a half pizza rather than a whole.

Excellent food in a hidden gem with an eclectic ambiance! Very reasonably priced. We had the house salad, arancini balls and the cheese pizza. All were delish.

I was in NYC and stopped in here for a few slices. I sat at the bar and got half a pie which is three square slices. The pizza is real thin crust so it was not too much food. The sauce and cheese was tasty and I enjoyed my pizza. The service was good and I got my pizza pretty quick. The place has a old school feel which I liked. Also, it is not too far from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. I would stop here again if I was in the area.

Climbing the stairs from the sidewalk to this pizza house was a bit like stepping back in time. At the top of the stairs things looked much the same. Lazarra’s opened back in 1985 and I’m sure the décor was highly fashionable back then. But I didn’t go to Lazarra’s for anything but great pizza, excellent service and welcoming attentive service. That’s exactly what I got. I don’t know if they’ve been serving the quirky square pizza since 1985, for me the shape doesn’t matter but the pizza which was full of flavour does. As I left down the same stairway I guessed if I were to return in another thirty years Lazzarra’s would have changed little. If you’re serving great food why would you.

Love the pizza here, really thin crust with quality ingredients (toppings). The service was good, even though I think they came over every 2 minutes to ask us if all was ok. Only negative point is that it is a very dark ambiance, not much light gets into there.. however will go back !

Their standard pizza is usually on a square tray about 10" x 15" (25cm x 38cm) that serves 6 pieces. It's not full of dough and you can taste the quality in every bite. Come here to dine and do not rush.

Zero ambiance. But fantastic pizza, salad and inexpensive wine. Been coming here for 25 years. Near Times Square and Macy's. Hidden treasure. Go there with family. Then go to Health King on 35/7th for yogurt. Good for pre high line. Also available for delivery to Times Square hotels.

Went for lunch on a recommendation on arriving in NYC. Couldn't have been more perfect. The pizza was great. The staff was really attentive, and the choices were many. Would certainly go back to Lazzara's. Very satisfied. Plus, it was very good value. Can order the half pie or whole pie.

I’d done my research of nyc pizzas before our visit. We hit several of the top scored places and the regular cheese at Lazzara’s was my favorite. We went back for a second time to make sure! That time we ordered one with half sausage which I didn’t like nearly as much as the cheese. I especially liked that everything was eatable and great tasting right to the crispy edges of the square (rectangle) pie. Nice sauce. Best I’ve ever had.

Unassuming little Italian cafe. Pizzas were good and staff was very friendly and helpful. A nice little surprise.

It is our last night in NYC and we were looking for somewhere close to our hotel. This restaurant came up on several reviews and uses Trip Advisor and Open Table so we thought we'd give it a shot. It is located in an old apartment building on the 2nd floor. Apparently there are still apartments above it in the building as well. It is very rustic, quaint and kind of plain but you have to see the beauty of this old apartment. It still has the original tin tile ceilings, crown molding and door trims, one exposed brick wall and an old fireplace between the two large windows that are on the street side. I could just imagine what a great apartment this was back in the day. The food was excellent! Fast service, huge portions, especially the salads, they are enough to feed 4 people- seriously! The anti pastas and beet with arugula and goat cheese were beautiful. Our kids wanted Caesar and it was ok but nothing compared to the others I saw come out. They offer a full bar, house wines and Coke products. My husband had the Veal Marsala, it was wonderful and my Eggplant Rolotini was excellent! We would definitely recommend this place and would eat there again. Lots of locals came in, very casual place. Not wheelchair accessible or for someone on a walker or cane.

Great pizza, friendly service. A little out of the way, but worth looking for. Seating is tight but so is every other place in Manhatten. Last night was so good we're going back tonight.

The perfect little pizza place. We sat at the bar and talked with one of the owners. The food, the pizza, everything was just right. Thank you, Tony!

We went here cause of the 9.3 rating given by Barstool Pizza Reviews. We had a nice meal, but didn't agree with the 9.3 rating that is being advertised. The pizza is tasty, but overpriced and the portions were small. One bite, everybody know the rules. Thats the review!

I have visited this second floor hideaway on several trips to NYC after being introduced to the spot by a local. If you like a thin pizza with a crisp edge on the crust this is your place. The pizzas are pretty light so you go away satisfied and not feeling like you just had a couple of slices from one of the low cost corner 24hr pizza joints.

We ate here since it was close to our hotel when we arrived into city. Ordered Pizza, Ravioli appetizer and Caesar salad. The fried ravioli was nasty, could not eat more then one bite. Salad was just lettuce, dressing and croutons from a box, no parmesan cheese, lemon juice,or olive oil. The Pizza was best part of meal, but even that was just average when you compare to all the other Pizza places we have been to. I had to ask for Parm cheese and pepper nothing even at table. I would not return, just alot better options in the area or short subway ride away.

Feeling hungry walking back to Macy's after visiting the Top of the Rock I noticed the sign for Lazzara's. My wife's first impression made her reluctant to try the restaurant and she took some persuading to go up the flight of stairs and down the dingy corridor into the small dark dining room crowded with tables. However we were soon enjoying drinks and waiting for our pizza after having had an excellent salad with a lovely Italian dressing. We were advised to share a pizza by some diners at an adjacent table. The pizzas are rectangular on a thin and very crispy base. The restaurant was soon full of regulars and we were glad we'd got in early. Excellent service, friendly staff and reasonably priced, tasty food. We left feeling that we had made a real chance discovery. We will certainly visit again when next in New York.

Our first trip to NYC, we wanted to eat at true NY restaurants. Found this and I took my wife and three kids (15, 12 & 10) here. Cool location, the look and feel inside was cool but the food was just mediocre. I had tortellini w/ chicken, it was bland. Wife and daughter had cheese pizza and said it was good. Son had plain spaghetti with butter and said it tasted "funny". We all sampled it and 3 out of 5 of us said it tasted funny. Other daughter had fettuccine alfredo and said it was "normal". I tasted the sauce and thought it was bland. The gave us a bread basket and the bread was okay, but maybe harder than desired. I had a Samuel Adams beer and the wife had Pinot Grigio that she liked. Servers were nice, though not especially attentive. I had to ask for a little more bread and water refills. To be specific, we showed up at 8:45 and I asked if still serving. I was told "yes" but we should hurry as the kitchen closes at 9:00. There were several other customer still there, one got served just after we ordered quickly. The location was cool as you have to go up maybe 15 steel stairs, then into a small hallway, then into the dining area with two rows of tables and chairs, white table cloths with white butcher paper on top. So the location, set up and ambiance were pretty cool, just not the food on our visit. Beer and wine available, I think they have hard alcohol but I'm not 100% sure on that. Menu prices were good I think, averaging low to mid teens per meal.

I had not written a review on Lazzara's because I could not remember the name. I just did a "street view" walk around and found it Diane and I were out, in search of dinner, pizza was on Our mind; not just any pizza, a New York Pizza. We found it in this quiet, unassuming little restaurant. Small, natural, English a second language, and a delicious pizza; a beaut base, so crisp. All that and a glass of Chianti for My Sweet Wife and I. Perfect, We Loved it, and will certainly go back again, when We return to NYC. Our thanks to Our to Our Host

The restaurant is upstairs from the sidewalk which is a bit different than most restaurants. The dinning room is small and they make sure they have tables everywhere they can I am glad it was not very busy when we went, because we had a table between us and two other guests so we used it to put our pizza's on. My wife had a clam appitizer and there were a lot of clams, they definately give you your moneys worth. I had the fried ravioli appitizer and it was very good, the ravioli's seemed to be homemade. The pizza is rectangle and very thin crust, but it is not limp. we ordred two half pizzas so we could try different flavors and they were both good. We had margherita and pepperoni, both were very flavorful. If we are in the area we will definately go back.

Excellent place for authentic New York city pizza and other great Italian food specialties. Nice ambiance, good service, and all around fun place to enjoy a nice meal!

There are more types of Pizza than days in the year. For me, thin crust with crunchy edges and fresh ingredients wins. If you fall into that category, take the time to stop by Lazzara's Pizza. You won't be disappointed.

My friends and I stopped there for a late-ish lunch and wanted to take a load off after walking around Times Square for a while (which is down the street). It was around 2, maybe 3 in the afternoon. The group of us sat down and because it was a later in the afternoon, some of us had already eaten, while the others just wanted a couple of slices (this was New York City after all). Keep in mind, this place was absolutely empty — we were the only ones in there other than another couple. The waitress first took a while to come over to us, which in itself wasn’t that big a deal. But then she proceeded to tell us that we had to order whole pies if we wanted to sit at the table. We explained to her some of us only really wanted to have a few slices, and the others were just looking to have a couple beers. Nope, she said we’d have to order at least a pizza per 2 people if we wanted to stay otherwise it had to be takeout. She didn’t even seem that apologetic or willing to compromise for some business! Needless to say, we didn’t want to order that much pizza and we left. But on the way out, we said it loudly and clearly, “You just lost your empty restaurant some easy business for no real good reason.” If there was a line out the door for people who wanted to sit, then I might understand that policy. But the place was empty! So, while the food might have been good, we never found out because it looks like those other reviewers who said the service was poor were spot on.

I was at a couple of pizza places in NYC and this was awesome. Will come back for sure. Doesn't look like much, but they make awesome pizza's and know what they are doing.

This is a very small restaurant with great pizza. We had a pizza for two of us. Thin crust, delicious pizza. We had pepperoni and onion. We also had their garlic bread which was excellent.

We ate here on a Thursday night after arriving in the city for a long weekend. I chose it based on TA reviews and proximity to our hotel. I'm glad someone mentioned the kind of odd entry up some stairs and down a strange little hall otherwise that might have given me second thoughts. Cute little place with only a few tables. Nothing fancy but clean and well kept. Servers all seem to be younger people but they were friendly and earnest. We started with the mozzarella carozza. Breaded and fried mozzarella with tomato sauce for dipping. Yum! We ordered a whole pizza but had it made half Alorna (Mushroom, peppers, meatballs and sausage) and half Classica (pepperoni and mushroom). The crust is thin and crispy. I was a little surprised that the pizza was square but what the heck, it was good! The sauce was simple tomato sauce, the cheese fresh mozzarella. I'm a firm believer in simple fresh ingredients for my pizza so I appreciated this place. After the pizza, appetizer and several beers we were too full for dessert. I was hoping to try the cannoli. Maybe next time! This is a great little place for a casual, affordable but tasty pizza meal. Will definitely go here again when I come back to the city.

Went again last night after not visiting for a few years, the wait was well worth it, really tasty and reasonably priced good food, highly recommended

This is a staple of the Fashion industry located very conveniently in midtown manhattan. Their pizza is one of the best in the city along with their tossed salads.

I took my daughter there on 12/16/17. We ordered a half a pizza and she ordered the fettuccine alfredo. She had taken a couple bites of the pasta and handed me a piece of long thin metal wire about an inch long. I notified the waitress and all they did was offer a meal " on the house." At that point we did not want any more of there food! She is a child and this could have tore her esophagus or stomach. I was appalled that neither the manager or cook came over to apologize. Sad excuse for a New York restauarant.

Pizza's served in a rectangular shape in either a half (one person) or full (two people). Several choices of toppings and also pasta dishes available. Both our meals were good, nothing spectacular. Good ambience and very good service.

Classic NYC (Staten Island influence, maybe?), thin crust pizza that you rarely find. The crust and sauce were primo, and toppings - if needed - great as well. Service was very friendly and responsive. Highly recommended.

good italian food...crispy, thin pizza dough friendly service for a resonable price we can recommand this place

Love it and a must if u want great pizza and pasta! We will be back when we are in New York City again. Service was good and attentive, atmosphere takes you back to the 60's

I stumbled upon this restaurant while randomly strolling around the area. When I walked up the stairs I almost turned back thinking that I was in the wrong place as the hallway serves as an entry to an apartment building and it therefore took me a minute to locate the door to the restaurant. There was a family just finishing their meal and I asked how they enjoyed the food and they raved saying that they were visiting and had come there to eat most nights. The vegetable pizza I ordered was very well presented and very tasty, clearly made with fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive and the prices very reasonable. I will be back on my next visit.

We get takeout from here often and enjoy all of the pizza. Dining in is a great option for families and off the beaten track of Times Square so it's quiet and a great option

If you want to taste fresh ingredients and on a pizza not too heavy and not greasy, you will love this! A must if you are visiting NYC

This restaurant is quite small and how you might imagine a pizza restaurant "somewhere" in Italy, not the middle of Times Square. The pizzas are AMAZING freshly baked super thin crust with your choice of toppings. Absolutely the best pizza everyone that I take for lunch or dinner here loves the pizza and cannot wait to return

Being a NY native, there are many different places that have good pizza from your typical slice from a local store to a fancy expensive pie from a place like Lazzara's. The pizza is good but nothing to write home about. I love the variety and crust that they have but a spot like this is a dime a dozen. Unless you can get to either Brooklyn or Queens where I believe that they have the best pizza, this is a spot that will be able to satiate your fancy pizza craving.

We arrived Wednesday 11/27/2013 at 3PM to a mostly empty restaurant. The service was the worst I have ever had anywhere. We had to ask for menus. Then for something to drink. Then for bread. Then we placed the order, and still had no silverware when it arrived. The waiters were sitting nearby complaining that they had to wait for us to finish before they could rearrange the table to handle a party of twenty. Why did they sit us there in the first place, if they knew a large party was coming? The food was fine, but we felt extremely rushed, although they were not really helping us along. I eventually had to get the waiters attention to ask for the check. At one point, I tried to get his attention and he looked at me then just walked away. It was the most unwelcoming feeling there - maybe because were from out-of-town? I'll never know. The server listed his name as "poolunch" on the check - in case anyone encounters him.

This restaurant has amazing food and service! Toko was an outstanding server!! He was attentive and even offered suggestions that we loved! The food is absolutely delicious from pizza (which we think is the best in NYC) to pasta and everything in between! The drinks are strong and delicious as well! All around GREAT place and good value for the money! A definite stop whenever we are in the city! We live about an hour north and even ordered the home delivery from Goldbelly which was great for Lazzara’s date night at home! Cannot wait to return! Well done👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I am vegan and I order the pizza primavera without cheese and it is really yummy! Everyone at my office always orders this pizza and loves it. Been going here for 5 years.

Actually really great pizza though quarters are tight and its upstairs. Once discovered I was addicted. Definitely worth going if you can stand the noise and close tables.

Ok coming from an Italian background and my Last name the same except for one letter I thought we had to try this place. We went on Sunday and were a bit disappointed that they were closed (yes everyone needs a day off, but restaurant closed on Sunday found odd). We came back and we're truly impressed with the food. Portions were excellent and flavors were awesome! We were there right before closing and wasn't too busy. A bit surprised to see after trying the food which was excellent. Maybe the location is making it not as busy? Or we just lucked out on a Tuesday Night. Will be back to get my Classico Pizza next time in NYC.

Little Italian restaurant with delicious, thin base square (not round) pizza. What is also really nice is you can order half-half pizza. Attentive staff, clean bathroom, cozy and not over priced. I will recommend them.

On our first evening in New York City, my husband and I chanced upon this lovely little upstairs restaurant not far from our hotel... We were very happy with our find... We walked in to a generous welcome, and were seated, given menus and had our drink orders taken within a couple of minutes... Our meal - we had pasta and pizza, along with good coffee to finish - was fresh and plentiful, tasty and very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and efficient. There was a quite reasonable wine-list, from which we chose a good US red to drink with our meal. We happily recommend this restaurant.

Myself and three friends stopped here for an early dinner, the food turned out to be very good indeed. Large portions and very tasty, it was good to see that the Pizza was square and not round, which I am informed is the correct way a pizza should be. Excellent service all round.

If you want to over pay for a small square pizza that is burned on the crust, this is the place for you!

I come here every time I visit NYC to decompress after the long train ride from Syracuse. The ornate ceilings and fans give the place some flair. Great thin crust pizza and Peroni beer is just the ticket. The selection of toppings is beyond any other pizza place. We had a pizza with fresh mozzarella on it and the cheese was so fresh tasting it was unbelievable. I like to hit the place at 1:30 or 2 as the lunch crowd empties out and just take my time and chill.

A little hidden gem, stairs to access it, a small room, but pizzas are good. Fast and neat service with a smile on top. We enjoyed it. Thanks.

We had a party of 5 adults and a young child. We visited on a Wednesday evening before walking uptown to see Aladdin at the New Amsterdam. We arrived in two groups and the server was very accommodating, The thin crust pizza was quite tasty and a welcome change from the typical NYC pizza. Some of our group had the antipasto salad. It was fresh, well presented with quite a bit of delicious meats and olives with a light vinaigrette dressing. Another of our party was very pleased with his pasta entrée. Service was attentive and even though we didn't order drinks they kept the water glasses filled. The second floor location was very inviting and one of the quieter restaurants we sampled on our trip. Next time we are in the city Lazzara's will be one of our stops.

Excellent margarita pizza. Service was a bit slow even though they weren't busy. The waitress was more interested in watching the TV behind the bar. Good prices. The space is upstairs and has a cool NY vibe.

Unfortunately very bad pizzas. We had the worst pizzas here in New York. Ingredients weren’t fresh and the taste wasn’t good at all. Wouldn’t recommend. Servers weren’t professionals. We felt bit sick after eating here.

We went to this place because it was so highly rated by Barstool... what I want to know is "Hey Dave Portnoy, How much did this pizza place pay you for that stellar review"?? Let's get to the review: The building: Not for anyone who is handicapped, has a heart condition, breathing problems, has lower extremity joint issues, or is obese. This place is on like the 3rd floor. If you are looking for it - you might miss it. It looks like an apartment. The pizza: The crust was crispy - and actually a bit hard. If you have soft teeth - don't go here. We ordered half pepperoni and half with spinach (which sounded delish). The sauce was tasteless! Yes folks, you read that to be correct, no taste! It was like tomato sauce spread on a super hard cracker!! The spinach.... I think the picked weeds from out back and drizzled oil on it and threw it on top of the tomato sauce which was on top of the super hard cracker. Dis-GUST-Ting!!!! 🤮 Waitress: Rude and did not want to give us the time of day. Price: Expensive 💸 There was a good old boys club taking place in the kitchen with cigars and booze. Felt very uncomfortable... we were the ONLY people in there!! That should have been my sign to run!! Seriously - go someplace else (anyplace is better than here) which will be cheaper and have more taste!! Barstool, you disappointed this fan!!

We started by splitting an antipasto salad ($14) which was very good and large enough to share with up to 3 people. Chicken Marsala ($16) was tasty with very generous portions. I had a half-pizza Classica with their famous original thin crust. Flavor was good; crust was soggy at the end of the slice but crispier closer to the edge. Very good tiramisu and cheesecake ($7 each). Restaurant was cold when we arrived @ 5:20, but we sat by a space heater and were fine. Friendly but not very prompt service.

Found this pizza place via “One Bite” the app video is accurate. Had the traditional cheese pizza and it was immense. Love the quirky shape

Staff are appallingly rude! Food was awful and came out mostly cold! We came to this restaurant under the pretence that it was NYC on a plate and this had filled us with excitement. However when we got there they sat us at a table and informed us that if we wanted to order more than pizza it all had to be ordered now as they closed and we needed to be quick. Something we were not aware of. We completely understood this and ordered and waited for our food. Although we have been told that they were closing early they had further seated a gentleman and large group of men so to use they were still actively open. When our food arrived it was cold looked unappealing and not nice at all. Whilst my friend and I had finished our food they quickly whisked away our plates and left my other friend to eat in an environment that became uncomfortable for her and she felt she had to rush. When we asked for our tip their was a big emphasis placed onto the fact that a tip hasn’t been added to the receipt. We sorted out our money and went to go and pay when we asked to pay sepearetly (like you can in many a nyc restaurant) the lady serving us rolled her eyes and said that they didn’t not accept that payment here. We then had to spend some time sorting cash out between us which was a further inconvience to the wait staff although like mentioned several other groups were around us. When we got to paying the lady started to complain about how much time they had waited after closing for us and told us that we were unacceptable for this. We were only able to give a small tip due to not having the correct money as we had presumed we could all pay separately. The lady that serving us then started to insult us and be very rude talking loudly to the other members of staff around her about us and how they had stayed 45 minutes longer for us to finish and that we were unacceptable. I know that tips are expected in New York and if we could have all paid one card like planned the lady would of had a larger tip. But the way that she acted the overall atmosphere, cleanliness, attentiveness and attitude of all staff members was absolutely appauling. Their are so many better pizza places in New York and we are upset that we wasted our time here (of no stars could be awarded that would be even better for this place!)

We were very hungry after a day of traveling. Walked a long way to get there but the food was the payoff for our work. Very good pizza with a crispy crust.

Last night I ordered 3 "Large" Pizzas for my Team Party...I asked that they be delivered at 6:00 pm and they were 10 minutes early...Thanks very much, however, the "large" pies were about the size of a small pie I have seen from any other pizza place and when I opened the box, I simply could not believe how small and how little ingredients were used...It seemed that they were tying to provide as little as possible...I was totally embarrassed and will NEVER order from Lazzara's again...What a joke...50 Bucks for 3 Pizzas that liked like they were made by a kid in a easy bake oven or something...I have no affiliation with any other pizza place, just a normal New Yorker who is disappointed with this rip off! If you want real New York Pizza, DO NOT BUY PIZZA FROM LAZARRA's...

After watching a review on this place my wife and I decided to try it out, it was well worth it. The staff was exceptional and the pizza was without question the best we have had. A must try!!!

The pizza was amazing. We had got two half pizzas and a meatball wrap. It was about right for 3. Went to here since El Presidente gave it a 9.3. Totally deserved. Service was NOT a 9.3. I got my own water once. After finishing our food were offered a refill. This is what I would say. Go there. Expect good food. Be prepared to temper your expectations regarding service.

We went on Friday evening, arrived at 8pm. Note: Be brave, an go up the stairs. this looks like it will be terrible, but trust TA. Restaurant was almost empty. Hmm, now we are worried. But friendly staff take us to a table and we order. Starter salad enough for 4 to share. It's just huge. Then pizza. Half is plenty big enough for one person with a decent appetite. An it's excellent. Huge amount of topping. Crispy around the edge. Just great.

The level of the food was matched by the level of the service, very low. The ambiance could be described as "contempo-factory." If you're in the vicinity of this place, keep walking.

Went at lunch time and thank goodness we got there right at noon! By 12:15 the place was filled and had a line out the door. Great thin pizza. The tables are tight, but it wasn’t a big deal. The service was quick and friendly. We had a pepperoni and mushroom pie and it was great. The large gave my friend and I three pieces each to split. Highly recommend!

We stopped at Lazzara’s for dinner while walking around and exploring. They had fast and friendly service and the pizza was delicious!

Lazzara's is the best Thin Crust Pizza anywhere in the United States. I LOVE THIS PIZZA!! I look forward to at least once a month!

FORGET THIS PLACE! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! We were referred here by a friend who raved about the food. We showed up and sat down in an empty dining room on a Tuesday evening only to be told we had to order TWO pizzas for 4 people….WTH? We wanted One pizza and I wanted to order a salad. Needless to say we got up and left.

Had a good experience. The wait staff was very attentive and diligent. The atmosphere is very tight, but cozy. You will be sitting back to back and side to side with tables all around, but the atmosphere plays off of it, as it is basically a very old and historic looking living room that was converted to a pizza Café. Overall, the experience was nice, and it was a welcomed way to get out of the cold and warm our bodies and belies.

Don’t get anything but the cheese pizza if your gluten free. You won’t be disappointed. After my visit I will only ever be eating cheese pizzas. My taste buds haven’t experienced anything like that before.

Great find in NYC. Pizza had a crispy crust, tasty tomato sauce, just the right amount of cheese. The arancini were also delicious . Intimate dining room to eat in and fast service.

FANTASTIC pizza Lovely thin crust pizza, great flavours. Great variety of Italian food. A must book to get in Great cosy atmosphere

Best pizza we ever had. We visit NYC several times a year and we always have dinner at Lazzaras when in town. In my opinion the best Pizza ever. Definitely worth the trip!!!!

Mixed impressions of this place. The service was quite slow - the wait staff seemed hard pressed to keep up at times, though our server was very nice. Our salad starter was tasty - a twist on Caprese, with sweet pieces of roasted red peppers added to the mozzarella and flavoursome tomatoes. The pizzas are good-sized, rectangular offerings that make 6 big, square slices - enough for the two of us. We chose the John's Special, a tomato base, topped with pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers, to which we added extra toppings of anchovies and olives. It was tasty enough, and the base was pretty good, but the sauce was overpowering in both taste and quantity, leaving a dripping mess on the plate. Certainly not an abysmal failure but I'd look around for something else next time.

Don’t let the relatively small sign above the stairs scare you. This is you real deal of NYC. Our meal was fabulous; a perfectly prepared and cooked square cheese and pepperoni pie with slightly brown edged thin crust which fulfilled my elevated taste expectations. Our tossed green salad was a great light compliment with the right amount of dressing and color. Our service was efficient. Arriving at 12:30pm, we had to sit in one of the only available 2-tops near the kitchen, away from the window. It was a bit dim back there and the tables were e a bit too small. I would have liked to linger with a desert or coffee. When back in Manhattan and feeling like pizza, I’ll be back.

We arrived early as a group booking. Our table was booked for 8pm and the deal was a salad, half pie, drink and cheesecake/chocolate mousse cake. There was no problem with the salad. Nice and well dressed. The pizza was tasty with a good crisp base. When we came to order dessert at 8.50pm we were told that the kitchen was closed. The waitress avoided visiting our table, totally ignoring us and not listening to what we were trying to say. A restaurant close to times square closing at 9pm??? A missed opportunity and no future group bookings.

Homemade tortellini in soup - still craving it a month later. Pizza was very good, too. Delicate sauce - not too heavy. Everything tasted so fresh & homemade. Very tiny restaurant, very quiet, but casual - no view outside. Can definitely bring kids here but it's subdued. I'm sure if there was a larger group dining it might get more festive in there. My daughters and I loved the food. Don't be turned off by the non- busy street it's on nor the outside of the building - just go in and have one of the best meals and some wine and relax. We had the rectangular pepperoni medium thickness crust pizza - didn't try the thin crust. When we are in NYC next time, we will definitely go back!

We ate here this morning and it was absolutely amazing! We had the ravioli and the chefs special for the pizza and it was so incredible. I wish they shipped to Australia ;) Wonderful service and cosy place. Thank you!

We order here a lot from our office and we are always happy. The restaurant itself is a cute spot not far from times square or herald square. It is often quiet at night and the service is quick and attentive!

I've now been here twice and the food has great each time. This has to be the best pizza in the area. I've also had the veal parmigiana and a few of the appetizers and I would give each 4 stars. Don't expect a big restaurant and this place can be hard to find. Well worth it.

Stumbled into this place while in the city for a visit to MSG. The pizza here is amazing. Crispy, fresh, very flavorful. I will be back for sure.

We went in search of "authentic" NYC Pizza with sit-down service. Lazzara's Pizza delivered exactly what we were looking for. Great pizza, real New Yorker service, wine, and a genuine local experience. It's upstairs and a little hard to find, but 100% worth it. Lunch service was a little slow, but the people-watching and fantastic pizza was worth it.

This is not an Italian restaurant. The name is Italian but the staff and cooks are not. The pizzas are boring. So is the pasta. Lots of better places to eat. Way to expensive compared to the quality.

Found this place by accident but so glad we did, Pizza was fantastic I can safely say it's the best I've ever tasted and we got a lovely warm reception when we entered even although we had not booked in advance.waiting staff were very attentive and pizza was delivered fresh within 10 mins Would most definitely recommend to before seeking out others We went early in the evening as we were heading to a show on Broadway

€20 for a pizza is acceptable. Quality was good. Do not be scared to enter. Quite small and old fashioned, maybe even quirky. Service lacked a little. Perfect for a quick lunch though.

Interesting old style walk up townhouse for a pizza place. Interesting pizza style too, similar to Detroit style pizza. Ordered half a lasagna pie and half a Sebastian seafood pie. Ordered a chicken parm hero and shrimp parm on penne. Everything tasted delicious. Only complaint is that I wish they took off the tails on the shrimp. Small detail but it makes a huge difference to the eating experience.

We've had a girls trip to NYC for 3 years now, and this is always our first stop for lunch. It never disappoints! The thin crust pizza is delicious, salads are fresh and wine selection is great! It's doesn't look like much from the outside but once you go inside, you are transported to an old Italian dining room from a previous era. We love it here!

Lazzara's bills itself as NY's best thin crust pizza. If you're looking for a pizza pie or pizza by the slice, you won't find it here I didn't realize this when I came to Lazzara's and when my half pizza arrived, I was frankly shocked, but the flavors were so good and the crust so perfectly cooked and crunchy, I ended up happy with the experience (and ate it all by myself)!

Place was recommended by somone from NJ who claimed he knew good pizza . One who obviously doesn't know good pizza. Pizza was average, at best. I ordered Tony's Twist- anchovie and saute onions. Sounded great, wasn't!! Also ordered the house salad with Lazzara's Famous Dressing...can you say Bottled Wishbone... Service was indifferent from the beginning. Bottom line, way too many good restaraunts in the same area to eat here.

We were looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat & stumbled upon Lazzara’s. We ordered pizza. It was tasty thin crust pizza. We were typical tourists-trying pizza in NYC. Quaint, quiet & off the beaten path.

Dinner for 4, 2 adults 2 children, pizzas meant to be renowned. Nope, thin crust ( really hard thin crust ) not one that melts. Pasta penne advertised with mushroom n garlic, those were anonymous... asked for spaghetti with tomato sauce, that went wrong... too. Unless your in dire need to eat something quick and for a decent price, will be ok... not for families, nor a comfortable evening meal...

I had lunch with some coworkers twice at Lazara's. Pizza was very good! Crispy and tasty..... Don't expect anything fancy, the place is very simple. Be prepared to wait if you get there after 12.30 as there are not many tables. Will go back for sure. Good pizza and great price.

You go up a few stairs with a lovely iron bannister into a dark hallway which then opens up into a cozy restaurant. Our group was six in number and were treated very well. Three bottles of wine and three pizzas together with a couple of appetizers filled us up. The food was great.

Once I heard that Barstool ranked Lazzara a 9, I had to go. I have been twice. It is now my Manhattan #1. Great location, friendly staff and the pizza! Toppings were chopped and spread evenly ensuring you got some in each magical bite. Light crust like no other. Nice staff matter after a long business travel day!

A little pizza cafe that you walk upstairs to get to. You feel like you are getting away from all the crowds. Once in there it is a little dark for atmosphere and there are twinkle lights draped on the walls. My friend and I split a half pizza which was a slice and a half a person. That was plenty for us, but others might like to split a whole. The pizza was NY style - thin and a little fired. Very good. The owner was very nice to talk to. All in all a nice little cafe!

Walked in off of the street and found fabulous Italian food. Pizza was outstanding and the pasta dishes were a big hit. Great spot.

Prime example how an overzealous wait staff spoils a reputation of a legendary restaurant. I have been visiting this place for the last 40 years.. Today i ordered a Lazzara salad and a pie. The salad arrived with one pretzel stick, and since we were two people sharing the salad i requested another stick.. all is well!!, the salad was good, the pie as usual great. When i received the check i noticed a $ 1.00 charge for a pretzel stick which was ultimately not delivered.. i was ultimately given the $ 1.00 back. disappointed...

Hungry? Lookin for a great parma? Walk up the black steps and step into Parma land. Beautiful !!! Add a glass of red and wow. $17 ( salad, small bowl spagetti and a huge parma) absolutley fanatstic. new york at its best.

We just had lunch at Lazzara's on the recommendation of Barstool's rating of a 9.3. We love the pizza it was excellent. The crust is perfect and the plain cheese was so good. We also got two of their salads which were fresh and plentiful. I think the price for the pizza is way to high. $25 for six slices of pizza is pretty high in my opinion even for NYC but that being said I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. There were lots of reviews that service wasn't that great but we had no problems at all, our server took great care of us.

When we first arrived I wasn't overly impressed. It was down a side street and tucked out of the way up some stairs. DON'T BE PUT OFF! The walls are covered in awards the restaurant has won. We had a delicious lunch served by waiters that were passionate about what they served and truly cared whether you enjoyed it or not. It may have only been pizza but it was delicious pizza. And best of all, so reasonably priced. We had 2 pizzas, a few drinks and 2 side orders for around 40 dollars. This is hard to find in NYC. Our waiter, Alfonz, had been there for 28 years and is supposed to be retiring next year. From how much he loves the place I think he'll be there for a while longer! Recommend this place.

Great pizza with carmelized onion and olives. Enjoy the old fashioned NY apartment ambience and enjoy the great food!!!

10/10 for the pizza, the best I've had in NYC Service was terrible. Not the friendly new york hosts you're used to. The middle Eastern lady who served us was not polite, borderline rude, disinterested, offered no explanations or recommendations. Just dumped menus and walked off. Me and my Wife couldn't believe it. A taller male host delivered our food and wasn't really any better. Just said "parmesan?" We notice there was another male host, shorter, beard and tanned, he seemed nice, but we didn't get him I'd eat here again, but I would now only get takeaway. Considering all the other poor reviews for their service, you'd think they would take it on board.

Loved the thin crisp pizza; great service in an interesting atmosphere. One of my favourite pizzas in NYC.

The misso and i popped in tonight for a feed, completely random as we were just walking past, the place doesnt look inviting but the sign had "pizza" on it so i was keen af. The pizza and pasta were sooo good... loved it, already wanna go back but flying back home to australia tomorrow. Next time 🤙

Great little restaurant situated in the fashion district. The pizzas are fantastic, great toppings on a crispy base. The staff are really nice as are the prices.

Lazzaro's Pizza Cafe is like a trip to old world New York City. You can imagine what it must have been like working in the garment industry and coming to Lazzara's for lunch. The thin crust Lasagna Pizza is, in my opinion the "best of breed". It has a rich lasagna flavor and texture with a crust that is perfectly thin and delicious. If you like anchovies by all means add them. Start off lunch with fried calamari (the absolute best I've ever tasted) and, if there are three or four in your party, you might also want to add an order of eggplant parmigiana. An inexpensive bottle of Chianti will complete the perfect picture and you'll find yourself making plans to return to Lazzara's soon.

Visit here one evening with the wife and wee lass. I ordered piazza and garlic squares and the wife had pasta. Both dishes were very tasty .The place is a wee bit difficult to find but it is worth a visit. Also the prices are really good compared to other places nearby. Many thanks Duncan

Stopped into Lazzara's with a group of 5 friends during a walk around Times Square. A few of us weren't hungry, but we were still planning to order 2 pizzas and maybe get a few drinks as well. Despite the fact the restaurant was EMPTY(maybe 1 table occupied besides us) the waitress informed us in no uncertain terms that we could only do takeout if we were ordering less than 1 pizza per 2 people. We had no interest in takeout and just wanted a place to relax and hang out for awhile. I could understand if the place was busy, but this was at 3 in the afternoon....did I mention the place was empty? This "policy" of theirs was also not mentioned anywhere on their menu or in the restaurant. We promptly left without ordering anything. 2 stars only because they let us use their bathroom.

Some of the workers were speaking Italian. It's on the second floor. The pizzas are rectangular. The pizzas are good, but very different than 'by the slice' pizza. Seems like it would be a decent place for a casual date.

Stopped in on a whim and I found my new favorite pizza! The owner was a pleasure to speak with and there just aren't words to describe the pizza. From chef to chef, you are the best!

I walked past this place for years and finao went in. Really surprised me. Not many places in the city that are sit down restaurants with amazing pizza as their specialty. All food was amazing. Looks deceptive from outside as you need to walk up a flight of steps from street level. Highly recommend if you are in the midtown west area.

Overpriced pizza restaurant managed by a rude, entitled manager that acts like it's your privilege to eat his mediocre product. We once had to order here for an office meeting--the pizza arrived 45 minutes late (you try presenting to 17 hungry people!) and was carelessly slapped in a box. We had even confirmed with the staff that everything was due to arrive on time, and still no dice. The manager didn't even bother returning calls. If you're visiting NY, spend your time and money in SoHo at Lombardi's. The family atmosphere, out of this world product, and great people watching are so much more worthy. Locali's in BK is fantastic too (Bey and Jay's favorite pizza!). With so many other worthy options, there's no reason to bother with Lazarra's.

We chose this restaurant when we found that neighboring Ben's Deli was closed for Passover. The restaurant was mostly empty, staffed by 1 pleasant (and busy) waitress, Nailya. The starter salad that came with the entree was a generous pile of lettuces, red cabbage topped with a slightly sweet red wine vinegar Italian dressing. My wife started with an order of mozzarella sticks, which was large enough to share. Entrees, she chose the Chicken Alyssa which was aided by the addition of parmesan cheese. I ordered 1/2 white pizza and was a bit surprised that I needed to top it with parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and oregano to enhance the flavor. I am glad I asked for some sauce on the side. The penne side dish accompanying my wife's entree was tossed with olive oil and artichokes (somewhat redundant with the chicken dish which already had artichokes aplenty) and large tasty chunks of roasted garlic. Bread and butter service, overall ambience of the restaurant are nothing particularly special. An employee came out of the bathroom as my wife went in, she noted there was no soap in the dispenser. The bill for all of the food was $32.00 before tip which, all in all, I thought was reasonable for a lunch in NYC.

So my coworkers and I were craving pizza and heard amazing reviews on them. At first I had no idea what we were walking in to, but you had to go upstairs, through some door, etc. It's actually pretty small in there.. Tables are right next to each other. I ordered an extra cheese half portion pizza. I was in love! The owner was not excited about us asking for seperate checks or splitting the bill.. He made a huge fuss! But the pizza was excellent, I will definitely be going back.

A group of six, we came upon this by using Siri after walking seven miles around New York on a November Saturday. Prices were quite reasonable, and service was spot on. One of us asked for a water, and six were brought to the table. Two bottles of wine, one Captain Morgan drink, a soda, two individual salads and one family size salad, a Spinach calzone, and 2 1/2 pizzas, fed six patrons. We got out of there in under $110.00 and left a $25 tip. This pizza was delicious!

Stopped for an early dinner before going to Madison Square Garden. Decor very rustic and a vast choice of pizzas with great service. The food was very good and definitely recommend here- well worth a visit.

We really only had one pizza (John's Special), so rating is rather narrow. However, the service was good, and the pizza we had was delicious, so I can find no reason to rate them down in any way... hence 5 stars...

Both take out and dining in are great here - large pie is 6 square slices. So good!! Its a nice quiet place in a chaotic neighborhood!

My Wife and family were travelling in NYC and needed to find a last minute place to eat on a Friday evening. Thankfully we found Lazzara's!! A small joint packed with warm atmosphere and amazing food. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely recommend and visit here often!!

We were just looking for New York pizza and ended up here. The pizza was good, and the place was nice. Service was okay. There was just nothing special to make it memorable.

Traditional NY Italian restaurant with great selection, nightly specials, half and half pizza and good salads. Staff were also very pleasant.

We randomly came across Lazzara's whilst walking aimlessly trying to find something to eat after getting off our long haul flight. From the outside in is unassuming and could be missed all together. We entered slightly dubiously not sure what to expect, but on arriving in the main restaurant we were greeted by a room full of what seemed to be locals (in my mind this is always a sign of a great restaurant). The restaurant is small and homely. The tables are crammed in so you are sat in close proximity to other diners, but it that kind of restaurant. We ordered a half and half pizza, which is great as me and my husband never agree on toppings so normally end up ordering 2 massive pizzas and wasting food. The pizza is delicious, loaded to with tons of sauce and cheese. I had the meatball pizza which absolutely rocked my world. Service was great and attentive without rushing you to get through your meal even though they were really busy. If we find ourselves back in NYC in this neighbourhood we will definitely be returning. Great value for money.

We loved the food and service at this small restaurant so much that we ate here twice during our trip! It’s off the beaten path. Don’t let the look of it fool you, the food is delicious!! The pizza is amazing, and there are so many varieties to choose from. I also recommend the fried ravioli and garlic knots as well. The service was fast and friendly.

Service was ok...a bit $$$ for what we got. Hero sandwhich not so good..pizza..not to our expectations..one time visit..thanks.

We luckily found lazzara's again this trip. It is great food, an oasis in the fashion district, old school atmosphere, and very good prices. Busy and energetic at lunch, but dinner is much less on crowds, but still perfect before a show!

Have dined here on many occasions and the pizza is always perfect. One of the best in NYC. Accompanying dishes were also delicious. Not a fancy place, but a great value, and near Times Square if you're hitting the Theater. Highly recommend.

We found Lazzara's by searching on a NY site and it is amazing. It was brilliant to enjoy some of the New York experience and have the intimacy dinner with out lots of hustle and bustle of the city. Brilliant food, excellent staff and definitely value for money. Certainly worth a visit. X

My daughter and I stopped in 30 minutes before the kitchen closed one night and ordered a salad and pizza. It was delicious! Piping hot and crusty where it should be and melty everywhere else. It’s a quaint dining room located up a narrow flight of stairs. Will definitely go back!

The pizza is ok... nothing special.. especially for the price you pay for. The Staff is great, especially the girl from Ukraine. you would get better pizzas for better prices.

Had the eggplant app. Delicious fresh ingredients. And same on the pizza. A nice spice on the pizza and nicely made pepperoni. Recommend.

The pizza is sooo good! Square but still thin crust. The sauce is delicious! Would definitely go back here! It's a nice small but quaint spot.
A hole in the wall makes for the best food.
Stopped in after reading a stellar review from Dave Portnoy ("One Bite" app) and we are glad we did. Quite, hole in the wall atmosphere, with friendly staff and affordable prices. The pizza style looks different than the traditional NY style, but as good as anything you will find in the city. Thin, squared slices that aren't overly crispy but also doesn't flop when held. The sauce is also top tier. My daughter had the fettuccini alfredo and it was enough that she could not finish it all, but she raved at the quality.
