This luncheon place is consistently good. The long table for singles is very European. Sometimes, they do hurry one by giving the check not yet asked for. I know and trust the chain so that when I was in a rush in Washington, I went in for a bite instead of trying to look for restaurants I didn't know.

Went here after cycling at central park. Didnt know it was a chain until I decided to write its review on tripadvisor. Decent place to enjoy the outdoor experience around central park and chill over a beer or have your hot chocolate with some snacks.

even we have a good restaurant at the hotel..... we look forward to going to le pain cotidien....there breads & Jams are simply delucious!

Having eaten here often ,it just keeps getting worse. We have had breakfast lunch and dinner here. Service has been slow and slower. Thinking it must be the kitchen. Food comes out cold or not as one asked. If something is sent back it takes forever to get it How could oatmeal be cold? There never seems to be any management , and that is probably why there are so many issues. With so few informal places to eat in the area we really need a restaurant like this- but they need more oversight

served much too hot, in cups one cannot hold, a kind of soup . probably one of the 10 worst coffees i had in my life

I asked a tour guide for a recommendation while in Central Park and she suggested Le Pain Quotidien. I was extremely impressed by the food. I had 3 items from the seasonal menu: Organic Strawberry Lemonade, the Gazpacho, and the Peanut Butter, Banana, and Jam Tartine. All three items were awesome. They even had speculoos on the table, which was an unexpected treat. I probably could've just gotten the tartine but I was unsure if it would be enough for a meal on its own. (FYI- It was.) The gazpacho is a bit spicier than I like but I thought it was very hardy. I had a cup and it could probably also be its own meal. I sat at the communal table, which was relatively unused on a Monday after the lunch rush. The server, while nice, seemed a bit overworked. He didn't come back and ask how things were and it took a while to get the check. Other people around me seemed to have a similar problem, so I don't think it was an issue with my server. I would definitely go back if in the area, or happily check out other Le Pain Quotidien locations if they are nearby. I've already recommended it to a friend.

These organic restaurants are always reliable. I usually have one of the tartines or the bean chili. Great for singles or families. Service is a bit slow so if you are in a hurry you might want to try somewhere else.

Now that Spring has arrived, you can enjoy a fresh wholesome salad outdoors overlooking Sheeps Meadow in Central Park. On weekends the lines are long and no reservations but its worth the wait. Good coffee drinks, nice fresh bread and good salads. You can also order at the counter and take a seat (if one is available) in the open section, but the menu is more limited and the experience much less liesurely.

Very RUDE FRENCH MALE server with a SHAVED HEAD. He appears to be in his 40's. Absolutely condescending. Management needs to work on that. Food is generally okay, though overpriced.

Fresh organic food in a casual but tasteful atmosphere, quiche, salad , pumpkin one and pecan pie all delicious, with whole wheat crusts that did not taste like Birkenstocks.

Loved eating here! Very fresh! Felt like I was eating at a small restaurant in Europe somewhere! Loved the tapanade, cheese, proscuitto plate - very organic - desserts were amazing too!

I had a very fresh, delicious salad Nicoise, which came with crusty bread and butter. I met an old friend here and all our orders were great!

Le Pain Quotidien can be counted on to provide a quaint atmosphere and good food. It's quite good for brunch and it is also a good, out of the way, refuge for shoppers.

Stopped in twice for breakfasts to go. Interesting but limited menu choices. Everything was fresh and delicious. Friendly waitstaff.

Love this place!!! my favorite breakfast spot. so charming and welcoming. The food is comfort style and who doesn't need that? The bread is superb, the coffee is wonderful and the atmosphere makes you feel like your in a neighborhood cafe.

This is a chain. All have the same menu based on French type meals with excellent bread. The meals are good. The service is generally fast and you can go do something else.

Have used this many times. Good service, unusual cafe foods and salads. Great vibe but a little pricey but I'm happy to pay as the food is always fresh and different. Often there is a line to get tables so very popular with locals. Great if you want something quick and simple other than diner food or take away.

The food is pretty good; the staff friendly; the seating are ok. The concept features a very long table. It looks artificial and open not very popular. Overall, it is a nice cafe with room for improvement.

Alway a nice breakfast and lunch place. Nice food and baked goods. But be warned... meal portions are small. Not a bad thing... but they are small.

We just called in for a drink after a walk. The place was very relaxed with a lot of local people. No rush and good drinks. The waiter was just the right amount of chatty without being nosey.

LPQ is always a reliable choice, always pleasant, always enjoyable - both the food and the atmosphere.

If you don't want to spend a fortune to have a meal near Lincoln Center, this is a good choice. Nice salads and other healthy choices. Wickedly decadent baked goods too.

this place its good for breakfast or a quick lunch! European style bistro/cafeteria i like it! the pancakes were good and so was the avocado toast! i will go back again....

If you are after a casual meal without fuss and too much time wasting then this place is definitely a good stop. The food is tasty and we found the staff were attentive. Whereas we only had a shared dips and bread platter and drinks, we found that the place was fast, friendly and other diners there seemed happy with their meals. This was the first time we stopped off at this restaurant but would definitely try it at another location as we were happy with both the food and service.

Cute, typical New York cafe. Comfortable dining room, very welcoming. Staff is courteous and attentive. Food is all organic and very nicely prepared and presented. Nice selection. A little pricey, but maybe not by New York standards.

I love their cakes, pastries and tarts. I usually take them to go because service is pretty slow. Also, it's kind of expensive for the salad and soup etc. I think that pastries and cakes is the their signature thing. I love apricot crumble, it's pretty amazing

Very very expansive, with out any reason. U can't even have a egg omelet for breakfast . It's a in place probably because everything is organic or natural. ( new fed). OK. The bread was soo organic it was already old. Naturally .

Walking to the Met we wanted something for breakfast. Nice local person directed us here; very nice decor and good egg/skillet dish. Got crowded after we were seated.

The best I can say about this restaurant is its proximity to Lincoln Center. Food was average and over priced. Service was very slow. We were only given a fork and had to ask for a knife and spoon. They gave a tiny pitcher of milk for a pot of coffee and we had to wait for them to bring more. Will not go back.

Went here twice. They cornered the gray haired lady market. It's all about lattes and quiche, ave toast etc. You could do a lot worse. Staff is nice as well.

I love these places and I'm glad they are all around. They are great for lunch but also if you are just needing a break to rest a little while with something to drink. The food is very good and their Belgium chocolate brownies are wonderful! They are small, get two of them... :-)

With its large, central community table, Le Pain is inviting right away. We had a perfect frittata and pastries served in a wam, European atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We had the new dishes Croquet Madam and Egg and cheeses flatbread it was great! It was recommended by our server Babu Z who also was very helpful and courteous and offered top notch service!

The franchise is consistent in quality and service. As well in Brazil, this branch in 65th St in the Upper West Side is a great spot for a breakfast!

Loved the coffee and croissants! Wished I could have stayed for a meal because everything looked delicious. A taste of France in NY

We went for a breakfast. The avocado toast was amazing. It is a place a little overpriced mas the food is good and the service too.

We stopped here on the way to the Hayden Planetarium and enjoyed the lunch options. Great kids menu, too. A little pricey, but very healthy and delicious options for everyone.

Due to its convenient location I’ve been here several times. Returned for Sunday brunch party of 4. 2 people ordered baked frittata which looked like a crustless quiche but tasted like nothing and was served room temperature. blah. My Pad Tai spiralized zucchini salad tasted ok but was mostly arugula. Egg skillet with avocado was good. We won’t be returning for a while.

Located within Central park, this cafe offers both "take-out" and dine in options. The bread is fresh, the breakfast parfait very good and the coffee not bad. Mainly though, you can't beat the location as you watch New Yorkers stroll with their dogs, play with their kids, roller blade by and enjoy the sunshine.

When we can here for dinner as a group, I felt as though I was part of the restaurant family. We enjoyed delicate appetizers including a cheese platter, and went on to enjoy numerous flavorful entrees. All of the food was full of great flavors but nothing overwhelmed the palate. For the price, Le Pain is hard to beat. Would recommend to all family and friends!

Very nice upscale dining, great food, casual decor. We ate here a couple of times this trip, every thing we ordered we really enjoyed, except the lemon aid, my son found it way to sour.

Addictive! Everything on their menu is superb, and I love the lax, homey, rustic feel. Check out the location in Greenwich, a personal fav.

Le Pain Quotidien has branches scattered all over NYC. If your looking for breakfast, lunch or just a snack this is a great place to stop. They have a wonderful bakery with organic breads. They also have soups, quiches. open faced sandwiches (tartines) and salads. Their website is: http://www.lepainquotidien.com

Friendly little diner near Central Park. Coffee and pastries available to take away or wait to be seated for lunch. We were in need of a little nourishment so decided to get a table. Super friendly staff. Busy but served quickly. Nice range of “reasonably healthy” dishes. A little on the expensive side but food tasted great.

their food is comparable to the other le pain around the country--their location is ideal for me when I am in town on business. Always stop in for a snack or a meal or to go.

This place is amazing, open early (7am) great cappuccino, all pastries are to die for. Quality above all, if your on a budget maybe not the place for you and $$ can add up, once you start ordering. But keep it simple, my dish is always a waffle, served with fruit preserve and cream and some powdered sugar and to drink nice warm cappuccino, love, love, love... They have many locations all over the city.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when in NYC. The Avocado toast is my absolute favorite and it never disappoints! We also split some breakfast pastry-the cream filled donut was divine! We took some goodies on our return trip home. Our waitress was amazing taking care of all of our needs in a timely manner and was extremely pleasant and kind. She said she used to work there 4 years ago, went away and has returned. We will go back again every time we visit the city!

My favorite during the winter is hot lemonade with ginger. I often have two-person business meetings here since near my home office and everyone is happy to come. In fact I am doing that again this Monday morning. Coffee is good as is the oatmeal and wifi. They do seem to mind if you sit with just coffee for a long time.

We've been to a few restaurants in this chain so know what to expect. They're always consistent. Healthy food, smallish serves, prices on the high side, efficient staff, cups without handles. This restaurant fitted our expectations. Always worth a visit for lunch or breakfast.

Maybe one of my favorite places to eat in the area. This time I had butternut squash soup, with avocado toast and a little side salad. Just enough to fill up with healthy goodness and enjoy the day. You really should give this a try...stop and take in the baked goods that await you as soon as you walk in the door, Yum!

Not a fan of community tables because usually you get the mother with her big coats And crying baby. The foo is good and they have great soups.

I like the long tables that they have so that you can sit with others that you do not know.. yet. You can be chatty or private as you like. The food is delicious.

A pleasant venue when you don't have too much time and don't want to "rob a bank". If you have friendly disposition, this is the place for you, as you share tables.

We ate at their restaurant in Central Park. We good all had different salads. Delicious, fresh with good service but their coffee is weak at best. I would never order coffee here again . Relaxing sitting outside in the park.;

So I order the bakers lunch which is a special they had for the day. Soup, 1/2 toasted avocado bread and quinoa/arugula salad. Just amount of food for one person. My soup choice was the turkey chili. It was hot, tad spicy and very favorable. Bread was toasted to perfection and the salad was bountiful. Highly recommend this choice!

The food was just ok. It is expensive- I don't mind paying for it when the food is good. I had the large soup which was literally 3 oz. The bread was good as well as the lemonade. My wife had some tofu dish which was so so. Won't be back with so many places in the area to eat.

The bread is great, the portions for meals are small but tasty. Take home some bread and yummy jam!

Hey, the food is overpriced, but it was soooo good. We were used to La Pain from our time in Europe and this place did not disappoint. Great soups, breads, and sandwiches. A good, if expensive stop near the World Trade Center.

The food was overpriced. The service was poor. There are gluten-free ingredients, and botanical /Vegan foods. They also have Beer and Wine, and a Children’s Menu. The surroundings are decorated nicely.

Funny name: quotidian means common, everyday. It is not every day you find an eatery called "quotidian" much less with the French spelling, of quotidian. Good food, good service, honest pricing.

This is a pretty standard Pain Quotidien, but is hard to beat if you want a quick light dinner before going to a performance at Lincoln Center, as it is right across the street. Reservations are not needed as there always seems to be plenty of room. We got there at about 6:45pm the other night and easily made it to a 7:30pm curtain at Lincoin Center. This is much better than racing through a meal at one of the other, more elaborate and much more expensive restaurants in the Lincoln Center area. I think it closes at 8:00 or 8:30pm, so forget about it for an after-performance dinner.

A very friendly atmosphere, great menu of healthy choices for breakfast and lunch. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Can't go wrong eating here! Reasonable prices and something for everyone on the menu. Food is of excellent quality. Servers are very friendly and attentive.

I visited there for lunch with my family and friends. Bread and salad are great and yummy with good environment. Staff are nice and friendly. Just kids are waiting for rest room for long time. If more rest rooms are available, it is 5 star!!

Some things were good - fruit salad, quiche and salad, limeade; some were not so good - carrot cake was small and very costly. The service was fine and it's a comfortable place to sit and talk.

My wife and I decided on the Le Pain Quotidien location near Lincoln Center to have breakfast before attending the filming of a favorite morning television show. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable atmosphere and freshly prepared breakfast options. All good!

We had brunch there twice we enjoyed so much The service- the menu-the food- the location all make for a terrific place

I used to like this place and have been here many times but it just gets worse. It took a while for our server to take our order. I ordered oatmeal and coffee. Hubby ordered a turkey club sandwich. Then we had to find waiter to get water. It came room temperature. Then my coffee came. I had to try to find him to get a spoon. By the time it came, coffee was cold. Hubby ordered a turkey club sandwich. To our disbelief, it came on a Slider bun. A thin slice of turkey, lettuce tomato and bacon for $15. My oatmeal was fine. I’m really done with this place.

Had both breakfast and lunch here. Food was simple and tasty, although nothing stood out. The choice of breads was a bit limited, for a place that focusses on 'pain'. The decor is welcoming and attractive. Service was good but again it's easy to rack up quite a bill.

Whenever staying NY we come back to the nearest one of these restaurants to our hotel for breakfast. It has become part of the NY experience. Decorated in all natural wood with a large communal table in the middle, you can choose from an intimate table for two, or join the New Yorkers (early) or the tourist crowd ( a little later). It's easy to get into a conversation . Everything on the menu is organic, lots of delicious breads, fruits ,eggs, etc. to choose from. And the chocolate spreads in the middle of the table are part of the clue of the place. Service is as fast as it can be, because it can get busy and crowdy, depending on the hour...but you are in New York! There are lunch menus too, salads , quiche , organic wines which we never tried yet. But looking at the cookbook of the place it seems delicious and healthy.

I stumbled into this restaurant when looking for another having been directed from a 66th St site to its 65th St.venue. I never found the other restaurant and I remain so pleased I walked in here. This restaurant looked welcoming and it was. The food at the small bakery section just inside the door looked delicious and the food I ordered and ate was just that - delicious - and very fresh. On arrival, the restaurant was quite busy. Solo travellers like me were directed to a long table and given a place. The system worked very well indeed. Some couples were also seated at the long table. We all blended in as if we’d known each other before. There didn’t seem to be pressure on people to move on quickly. One lady who ordered soup and bread ate her food and continued to read the newspaper after she’d finished the food, obviously enjoying the ambience while relaxing over her lunch. It was a mixed clientele - many young professionals, academics, tourists in New York - and more - people of all ages. The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere: it was nice. While waiting for my lunch to be prepared I‘d started to read the cookery book produced by this establishment displayed on the middle of the-table. In many respects, I somewhat regretted it didn’t take longer as I was enjoying flipping the pages and finding some very interesting recipes. My lunch was flawless, hot and very nourishing, tasty food. My drink, a mixed juice from the menu also attracted the lady seated next to me: she ordered one too. From my reading of he cookbook, the impression was gained this establishment prefers organic and wholesome foods. It was interesting that in the salad component of my meal, there were slices of fennel included - a nice change from the ordinary. I plan to return to this restaurant in the next few days.

Staying at a hotel in the neighborhood we followed the counsel of your reviews and made our way over to LPQ three times total during our stay. Fantastic chicken soup! Fantastic bowls of espresso! Baguette! Smoked salmon! I never did come down with the cold I thought I was catching. Staff is delightful and the steamed over windows a welcome sight on a snowy cold NYC day. A bientot!

I look forward to the simple, fresh, tasty meals...have tried several of the dishes, always pleasant

This casual spot is about a block away from Lincoln Center. Interesting, healthy choices and yummy baked goods. Very casual, and you may be seated at a long, butcher-block table where you meet other patrons. A little pricey for such a casual place, but convenient and a good vibe. There are several of these restaurants around the city, and it's always reliable. They offer vegan choices and daily specials.

This place appealed to our breakfast sensibilities of good food that's good for you. They are really big on organic foods, veggie and vegan food, etc., and they have a bakery up front. We went there to have a healthy breakfast of steel cut oatmeal. Really good, as was the fresh squeezed orange juice. The coffee was the only disappointing part of the meal itself, and the service was really slow. Part of this I realize is that everything is made fresh to order, which I appreciate and account for, but the wait staff person we had wasn't the greatest.

I went into LPQ on Friday night because someone told me they were serving dinner now. I was amazed to find out I was late to the party, the place was jamming. They have wine and some great menu selections. My significant other and I chose to go all out and we couldn't be happier. The service was great. The wine from Toscana was excellent and our food was amazing. We both selected a starter and an entree and it was coursed out without us asking. Soooo professional. We had the mozzarella with ratatouille and the tomato and prosciutto crostini and it was a great start to a meal. Then we had the quinoa cake and the chicken confit and they were excellent. I took the waiters suggestion and got the chicken, even though I don't order chicken when I go out and I was blown away. I don't know why anyone would cook chicken any other way. The chicken was so moist and totally edible with just a knife and fork. We then had a tiramisu and it was an excellent cap to our dinner. We strolled up Columbus Ave to finish off our night and we couldn't be happier. I think the hottest table in town is at LPQ across Lincoln Center.

We went to Le Pain Quotidien in Central Park, New York. Could not find listing. Service was terrible. People before us got service. Food was medium for the price. It certainly made me never want to try a Le Pain Quotidien anywhere.

Le Pain Quotidien is almost just across the street from Lincoln Center. The service is excellent; almost too fast, but good if you are aiming to catch a performance at Lincoln Center. The menu is versatile with wondeerful breads and delicious soups, and interesting salads. I had the warm grain salad one night which I've never had anywhere else. The cheese plate was sparing, but served as a nice dessert for four of us. It's also not a huge place, so may tend to be full-up, but not so noisy that you can't talk. The waiter was most pleasant.

We ate here after failing to find a place still serving breakfast at almost 11 am. We love to visit our local Le Pain Quotidien while in California and it was nice to see they are consistent with their food preparation. Although, we could not get our regular avocado, tomato omelet. The tea was hot and quinoa scone was delicious as always.

Love the neighborhood. Across from Meg opera and my favorite fountains Quick affordable, delicious and creative lunch. Anything on a menu is a good choice. A bit understaff.

Le Pain Quotidien has branched out all over the city, and for good reason. Good, healthy meals are available anytime, as well as fine breads, pastries and jams to take home. I always enjoy the warm, informal atmosphere.

After visiting Strawberry Fields in Central Park, we were a bit hungry so we decided to walk a couple of blocks and have a proper French meal. We were not disappointed. Inside the restaurant it was cozy and warm, we were promptly directed to a communal table and given our menus. We placed our orders, our drinks came in really quickly, and so did our dishes. Anyway, it is such a nice and comfortable place, I would not have minded the waiting. You can take a look at the bakery delicacies, or the walls exquisite decorations in the meantime. The French do know how to cook. Everything tasted home-made, absolutely delicious. Great experience, definitely recommend.

Only thing that might have made it even better would be some outdoor seating availability - but on 7th Avenue, that's probably asking too much! Service, food and options were top notch

I like this place for its location and familiarity. Lived in the area for five years and always return there. Lately, it seems there is turnover and service can be slow/sloppy if you go during busy times. I love the mission and the original menu. Quinoa, avocado and great tartness.

This restaurant is one of my favorites especially when I am eating by myself. The communal table is really nice and it is possible to have nice conversations there. Portions are generally rather small and the food is not really cheap. The wait staff seems somewhat overworked and service tends to be slow at busy times.

This is between Lincoln center and central Park. It smells like fresh baked bread. I chose ricotta and fig with fresh cracked pepper--- I wish there had been more fresh figs since they were in season but it was tastey! The chamomile mint iced tea was lovely.

You have much better places in New York. We were tempted to go there again after we did not like it so much just because it looks great. But It looks great, but - the service is real bad, the food - so so but the variety is really poor - not even a decent omelet or chocolate croison. Further more a lot of their poor variety is no longer available at 1030! What a shame! You should go somewhere else.

We bought good sandwiches here to take with us to the park. A step above the other sandwich chains, plus some sweet treats.

They have excellent healthy food. My favorite thing is their chocolate / hazelnut / praline spread. Nutella has nothing on them. I always order a brioche and ask for their spread for breakfast/brunch. Also they have seasonal lemonade. Their Spring one is amazing! A must try. It's the fresh strawberry lemonade. It is soooo good. I always go back for that one as well. Last but not least, their mushroom quiche. It is creamy and delish. The most important part of a quiche is that is it cheesy and creamy, well this one has it all!!! For more reviews, please go to www.thestylegourmande.com Thank you!!

very good place for lunch at a community table. Food absolutely fresh including wonderful breads and pastries. Casual dress and good service. Have teken out breads , pastries and packaged coffee that is truly flavorful when ground.

all "le Pain quotidien" stores have great waffles! the bread spreads are good as well. for lunch they do not have much option. also they should warm up the pastries if the client desires.

Been to this chain restaurant in many locations, but first time at this spot...same old, same old, so decorwise you are in the stereotypical model...first time stopped in for a quickie lunch though and was rather disappointed...had the turkey and avocado sandwich, wrapped in clear plastic in the refrigerator case...it was fresh, so that's good, but pretty tasteless...surprisingly bland...I think I'll stick to breakfast or table service next time.

great ambiance great food self serve or seated, busy coffee shop so beware of busy times every dish we had was well presented and tasty

If you like bread, coffee, and soup it's good. But I like my bread warm and I like eggs that are cooked in other ways besides boiled. the salads are very skimpy, so are the sandwiches. Great pastry and coffee.

We ate breakfast / brunch twice this weekend at Pain Quotidien and both times they were completely disorganized. Food would sit for 10 minutes without being delivered to the table, soft-boiled egg was nearly uncooked one time and quite hard a second time, the cafe-au-lait turned into a cafe-creme, things like that. I like the place but they need to work on staff training. One poor guy would be running around dealing with 20 tables while this other person, a woman who seemed to be in charge, was off on the side and not doing much at all. Good food, though.

Service was off today - a bit slow..but our food was fabulous. We love the pastry items. I had the baked eggs. The Chicken soup was great - as is the avocado toast. HIGHLY recommended.

Great place for breakfast in NYC. The bread basket is excellent and they give you jars or praline, chocolate and jam to spread on a variety of artisan breads, all for under $10. You can also buy the jars to take home for about $25 which we did! Great concept, food and atmosphere!

I love PQ. I discovered it years ago in Europe, and am thrilled to see them pop up around NYC. There are no surprises -- good coffee, good food, sometimes a bit bland, but the portions are more than generous and there appears to be much care in how food is prepared and where it is sourced. They don't seem to know much about gluten (and I have Ciliac's, so it's serious concern, and it surprises me that they don't have options.) Other than that, if you're looking for a fast, reliable, comfortable meal, a good place to gather where the staff will attend your needs to ignore you if you need, this is a good bet.

we waited at our table but finally got take out because no one waited on us. the manager said it was change of shift and and the server was not on their game I guess?

The easiest way to describe LPQ is as an upscale Panera. A similar bread-based menu, but you wait to be seated...and wait and wait some more. While the service is slow, the food is amazingly delicious and there are some cool unique options. I'd definitely go back on a day where I wasn't in a hurry to relax and enjoy more deliciousness. I loved my turkey and avocado flatbread.

Very welcoming, busy, restaurant with tasty food. Charming friendly staff but experience spoilt by terrible Chilean wine. To credit of waiter he deducted from bill.

Great decor; great food, drink, coffee. Convenient to Lincoln Center. Perfect meet-up place before attending the Opera!

I usually enjoy visiting Le Pain Quotidien wherever I am. While choosing to visit this place for breakfast, I was surprised that not all the meals from the menu were available, not all the drinks available and also the bread was not fresh. Even if we were there at 10 AM. Overall, the meals were good, but not as delicious as known. Big up though for the Speculous which I was able to buy!

We were visiting from Canada, attending the Opera. Walked for a long time looking for something that looked nice and fair priced. Walking by the place it looked so inviting and the look of all the baked goods just made it appeal. We had the mushroom soup and a open sandwich. OMG - excellent. Our only disappointment was that when we came back the next day while waiting for our next opera they didnt offer it. It was a "soup of the day" thing. Food though on both days were excellent. Staff on the first night were first class. Second night, a little rushed to the point of almost being rude. We had wanted water along with our coffee and it took nearly the whole meal just to get the water AND creme for the coffee. Coffee was great though so I did without until they brought it. We bought treats when we left. Dont miss this place if your in New York. It's absolutely worth the visit. And pricing was excellent for the food we received.

I went in and the girl made me a delicious americano and I had a nice muffin to go with it. Quick service and nice experience.

Didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. Delicious sandwiches but it was the desserts that made us swoon-Cjhocolate mousse- still can taste it. Ate pre theatre at Lincoln Center.

Service was lacking. Unorganized with dirty cutlery. Food was acceptable and fresh enough. Selection of beer was minimal…one beer type.. Stella. Many other restaurants closer but not in the park

When we want a casual, light, inexpensive dinner before a performance at Lincoln Center, this can be a good choice. I say "can be" because too often the menu item(s) I want to order are not available. The food is mostly fresh and organic and very good, and the homemade soups (if not sold out) are delicious. The bakery items at the retail counter in the front of the restaurant look wonderful, but we usually manage to walk past quickly to avoid the temptation.

Convenient to my home office lately I liked the hot lemon-ginger drink. Coffee is very good as is the oatmeal. Do not seem to mind when you just order coffee and sit for a long time.

This is one place that everyone in my family can agree on for a quick delicious meal. We love the waae and the latte is sheer bliss. Only issue we ever have is that these eateries do nit have any type of soda and my husband must have a dier coke with his meals. None the less we love them!

Casual dining, no reservations, but the food is good - and healthful. I've been frustrated a number of times, my mouth watering for something on the menu only to find out it's sold out or no longer available. But what they do have is usually very good. This time I asked for the chicken soup on the menu and was told it's no longer on the menu, but they had minestrone and it was tasty. I also ordered the chicken salad and was surprised to find it was a salade composée (ingredients placed side by side on a plate rather than mixed together in a bowl). It was supposed to include frisée, but was served instead with arugula. When we pointed that out to the manager, she brought a generous amount of frisée for us to add to our salads. There was also a "mystery" ingredient, listed on the menu as "freekeh." It looked like lentils, but I looked it up online and discovered it's a kind of cereal made from wheat. We found the avocado dressing that came with the salad too bland, so we asked for oil and vinegar and then enjoyed our salads very much. Somehow, we resisted ordering one of the tempting desserts on the menu and also managed to resist buying any of the French pastries at the retail counter on our way out.

Le Pain has a pleasant cafe/deli atmosphere. The waiters were very pleasant and helpful. We ordered the turkey tartines and they were absolutely lovely. The chicken soup and quinoa bake were wonderful also. The vegetarian choices are numerous. I'm a tea snob and their ice tea more than passed my test. For dessert we ordered the fresh fruit bowl and it did not disappoint. You can sit down for a meal or order things the "deli" route. The tables were a little close together but that is the NY way. It is worth a stop here for a pleasant lunch.

Well these are a chain and always reliable whether they are in Paris, LA or New York.Good soup; good pasteries, nice breakfast. This is really a drop in ; no table sevice; CASUAL EASY

Good place to have a quick bite or coffee break. The 1/2 wine/beer offer after 5 pm is great during the summer. The chia muffins are delicious and they have a nice selection of breads and pastries.

This chain has become as ubiquitous as Starbucks in Manhattan. the good thing is they all feel a bit unique, but not the menus. The food is good, not cheap and not overly generous. I liked it well enough to return

My father insisted that we eat here before we live town, and it really is quite good. Family environment as well, with lots of shared tables and 4tops. Gluten free cracker tasted like stereofoam, so they need to go back to the drawing board on that one. Hot chocolate was to DIE FOR!!

Whether you crave an iced coffee or a meal, the menu offers a nice selection. Atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing with semi-classical music. Individual and community tables.

A nice quiet spot for breakfast, lunch or coffee. The service is mixed depending on who is working. The sandwiches/tartins are very good, as is the soup. One of the best chicken soups in NYC! Delicious spreads for the bread. The baked goods are consistent and good, though I miss the old recipe for the large chocolate chip cookies (crisper and great for dunking in milk).

Popped in for appetiser and a few glasses of wine, very relaxed and the food was lovely we did a sharing plate of dips with bread, very enjoyable tasty food.

I visited with a friend for lunch. We came across this place when we were coming out of Central Park. There were plenty of vegan options available for my friend and everything on the menu sounded very appetising. As a tourist who was staying around Times Sq it was refreshing to find somewhere with healthy options. So the food. Amazing. The vegetarian quiche was delicious. The only down side. The waitress. She barely spoke a word, we felt like we were an inconvenience and she came across as very rude. The only time she seemed to smile is when she was given the 'customary' tip. On a whole the food is worth visiting for but the customer service could do with some work.

We got a table immediately, as it was well before lunch-0time, and all we wanted was coffee and a croissant, which was served with a smile and was quite delicious! not expensive at all.

We used to enjoy relaxed light dinners here before concerts at Lincoln Center. This time management decided to only seat "complete" parties. So while tables stood empty a long line of unhappy people formed and eventually some folks started pushing ahead and taking those tables. Meanwhile the rest of us sheeple waiting to be seated just stared in amazement. After 20 minutes of this circus I left. Can't say I want to return. Too bad.

There is a nice choice of food, and the good quality too. And I always enjoyed eating here, as also the ambiente is very nice.

If you're looking for something else than pancakes or sausages for breakfast,, and if you want to try healthy Belgian bread, a good croissant and a good cappuccino, you must go here. Good quality for money. Great decoration, classical music: a quiet moment in a city that never sleeps. Love it.

I love the different options for food. I have picky kids & I am a vegetarian & we all can find something to eat. I especially love the black bean hummus sandwich! The service is excellent. All of the servers work together but I always ask for the French server Cyril. He goes out of his way to give us the best service with a smile & it feels like a real European experience with his French Accent!

I came to Le Pain Quotidien for lunch on a Saturday. It was crazy busy in there but a server seated me relatively quickly at a long communal table, which was fine with me. Once I had perused the innovative menu, I waited a good 25 minutes before I saw the server again. I ordered the open face egg salad sandwich with caper aioli and herbs along with Belgian hot chocolate. I loved the hot chocolate because the milk arrived in a separate cup and I could add the rich dark chocolate to taste. The sandwich was fresh but unfortunately had a lot less flavor than I expected based on the description. It was a good experience overall. Between 3 and 4 points.

Le Pain Quotidien was a great find when we first discovered it years ago and still continues to please. We love the takeaway bakery items such as their chocolate chip cookies or brioche. Also, I have been a big fan of their chicken curry for a quick meal, along with many other interesting and well prepared items, including some great soups for a cold night. Most tables are family style--long wooden benches, which might put off some people. But I have to say that I have met some great people at those tables and had conversations with many from a variety of different countries. Also, it is close to Lincoln Center which is convenient but also tends to be packed around theatre events so you have to come early. It is also a place during off hours that you can linger over a cappuccino and desert without feeling you are being pushed out. If you haven't tried it, you are missing a cool experience.

This is a nice lady's breakfast/lunch restaurant. The servings are lady like and even the choices of food lean away from hearty. This is mainly a bakery with very nice looking pastries and quiches. Don't look for hearty omelettes or bacon and three eggs. You'll want to go elsewhere if that's your idea of a meal. It's also crowded and not cozy, so you'll have to bring your own charm and relaxed attitude.

You're out and about, you're hungry, you don't want to spend a bunch, you want to convince yourself that you're eating healthy. So you order a salad or a something on spelt bread, you wash it down with an acceptable glass of wine, you deal with the check, and you leave. What more do you want?

The menu is varied and interesting (at the many locations). The food is tasty but not much in quantity. We tried two dishes which we split. Neither of us was very hungry so we got enough. The wait staff was competent and worked very hard. We were there at 600 pm for a 700 pm Lincoln Center Theater curtain so things were very fast paced. Somehow the food struggled to get out of the kitchen. The little hole in the wall between the kitchen and the dining room seemed just ridiculous for the many plates that need to come through it. The good news is that we were on time for our curtain.

Restaurant was almost empty. Two out of three of us ordered frittata. Took 45 min and came cold. Not sure if waiter forgot to give to us and the plates just sat out or they forgot to heat up. Just because organic not a reason to go. I have been to other branches and more successful.

The Pain Quotidien is a chain of Patisseries in NY, with tasty french pastries and decent coffee. In addition, they play classical music, which makes a visit relaxing and worth a longer stay.

Good food. Slow service. Great location to close businesses and other attractions. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend Lentil Soup if available and also the Avocado Toast.

A great location and nice selection of food. An easy venue to pop into quickly or to linger. What you see is what you get. I love this chain!

No hospitality..server brought our food but never came back. We had to get up to get salt and pepper. He also mixed up our orders. Most surprising..we were all served Stale Bread.

I have been visiting this restaurant at least once a week since I live down the street from it. This last visit may be my last due to the service, or the lack of it. My parnter and I waited over 45 minutes to get the food once we were able to order. Patrons who came in after us got their meals, finished, paid and left. I blame the manager that day for the problem. We were seated toward the back of the room at a section whith about 12 tables. Our server had only our table, plus many other tables in the front of the restaurant. One server was responsible for all the others, and totally ignored us. I know that our server was overburdened, and apolized for the long delay and blamed the kitchen, even though everyone else was being served in a timely manner. The food, once it arrived, was good, but we almost left before we got it. The couple sitting next to us came in 15 minutes after us, each ordered two items, got them, finished their meal and left before we were served. I douibt seriously that we will ever go back.

I love this location and its setting. The food is excellent. I always choose something with hemp seeds or chia seeds. The tartarines can be shared. The lentil soup is always well made. In the winters, you can go for spiced cider and it is simply delicious. Last but not least, desserts of all sizes are a huge temptation that I intentionally stay away from.

A real European experience. A unique approach to breakfast and fine, healthy bread. My husband and I first discovered this chain in Paris, and were happy to find it again in New York. The only danger is that you will be tempted to eat (and buy) more bread than you ever have! delicious coffee and an attractive, bohemian setting.

The setup is confusing -- you walk in the door and are immediately standing in front of the order counter. There is no host stand in front. On the far wall is a huge chalkboard with breakfast items listed -- a suggestion that you choose one and order it. So we ordered food and coffee and sat down. Then we were ridiculed for not ordering through a server... after being told two minutes before that the back of the cafe was table service only. We were in the front. Weird. And in the scheme of things, oh well, but the staff was really quite rude about it. And loud too. Can I describe how awesome it is to be loudly barked at in front of a room full of guests? Amazing! The food was excellent, even eaten from to go containers. The coffee was great too. The atmosphere is gathering-space style and feels like a farm kitchen. But still... There's a saying that you never want people to leave feeling more stupid than when they arrived, and this is what happened to me at LPQ. ...pretty unnerving as it's just a cafe and I simply wanted a quick brunch with my friend.

Just as quaint as the one in Hasselt Belgium. Same menu. Relaxed environment, no rushing you out of restaurant.

Absolutely loved this cafe. Food was fresh and delicious, the service and friendliness of the server was amazing, and the coffee fantastic. Can't wait until my next trip to NYC for a return visit here.

We wandered in with grandkids in tow and found a warm and friendly place for a good meal - fresh and sustainable produce is a focus, and home-style cooking that kept everyone happy. they are all over the City (NY) and so easy to find and maintain a standard of quality that makes it safe and sure to go into any of them. Keep an eye on where they are as you wander through the City and you won't regret it.

We have been there many times to have a lunch before going to a matinee at Lincoln Center. The place is always bustling and you might have to wait for a few minutes to be seated. The food - open faced sandwiches, soups, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, is tasty. The atmosphere is very casual, rustic. It's close to Lincoln Center (under 10 min).

Lovely cafe and a super coffee stop. The fresh fruit tart was delicious. Friendly and helpful service. A special cafe that will not disappoint.

Le Pain Quotidien has a great concept. Take a bakery atmosphere with country French decor, add rugged wooden tables and chairs (some to share communally with other customers), offer capably prepared French and French-style sandwiches, tartines (open faced sandwiches), salads, omlettes, and soups made with high quality fresh ingredients, all anchored by sensational breads and followed by delicious pastries (if you wish) and you've got a real winner. I've enjoyed their food in many locations and they are consistently very good. I've even had dinner a couple of times and really enjoyed their stews. LPQ is a very welcome break from everyday lunch. I just wish they had better coffee.

What I wrote two years ago is still valid.- Good soups, some warm dishes, but primarily salads and open face sandwiches al of which is ideal for a quick meal before a concert at Carnegie Hall. And if you can allow yourself to indulge, the pastries are very good. I should also mention that true to its name the breads are very good whether they are in the tartine open sandwiches or just with a soup or a salad.

For breakfast, this restaurant offers great organic oatmeal with walnuts and banana and an egg sandwich with avocado toast that are delicious. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Its a great place to have coffee and start your day with good, healthy breakfast. Can't beat that.

The dutch pancakes with banana are delicious and the oatmeal is also very good. The cappuccino is very good. In all, a good breakfast at an excellent location with good service is what one gets when visiting any Le Pain Quotidien. Prices are reasonable and acceptable for New York City.

Clean place pleasant service. Healthy options on menu, and calories listed on the menu. I've been truing to eat healthily lately so that was appreciated.

I met two colleagues for breakfast. We plopped down and occupied a table for 90 minutes. The service was spot on, food reliably tasty if undistinguished, and for us the lack of hurry was very welcome. I would go here again easily.

When we've spent the day out ned about eating our way around NYC, Le Pain Quotidien is always nice for a light dinner. Beautiful fresh food, great prices.

Le Pain Quotidien I've long meant to drop in here for a meal as I work nearby. Today, I did and I’m sorry that I did. Plagued with a persistent headache all I wanted was a quiet meal. Next to my table an insatiably vocal young woman talked so loudly that she could be heard even in the bathroom. I asked that my table be changed and the head waiter obliged, stating, “It’s a restaurant. There are tables everywhere.” Not quite sure how to take this, I moved to a table next to some open shelving where condiments were grouped for sale. My seasonal tomato and goat cheese frittata, albeit tasteful, was lukewarm. My bowl of coffee was also tepid. Adding milk turned it cold fast. I had to ask for a spoon to stir in the cream and sugar. More noticeable was the waitress/hostess who re-arranged the condiments time and time again to my left. She seemed concerned that I’d abscond with something and therefore, hovered close by and continued to move jars towards herself, on the other side of the open shelving/bakery entrance. She did so by my count five or six times. It became annoying and seemed a not so subtle message that my presence was not welcomed. Service was slow and spotty and the place was near empty so there’s no excuse. I don’t prescribe to the notion of Gallic rudeness as I’ve lived and traveled throughout France many years and never encountered such. Although the menu items appear interesting, I found the wait staff less than personable, for whatever reason. No problem. I shan’t return.

They have many locations around the City of New York. This one is particularly convenient. Each is its own wonderful part of the City Setting. The many classic French and adapted dishes are perfect in their own right and yet simple enough to be reproduced at home. And guess what? You can do that too. The Pain Quotidian Cookbook has the usually simple but often unexpected combinations of spices and ingredients spelled right out there for you to enjoy again and again. But you deserve the additional pleasure of trying them first right here. Tables are many but big and you may share one with others but more is the fun seeing what others have ordered. These restaurants are a wonderful New York/Paris combo setting that makes it perfect to be able to partake of the fun in either location. Please do enjoy!

Lovely staff, good pastries, nice tea but not enough seating. Always full from what we saw. Nice selection of stuff too
You can find of these places all
You can find of these places all over Manhattan… Same food everywhere… Very popular… I love the breads… But I find the food is just OK… Not inspired
