Visited to watch a match during my holiday. The basement is set up with several TV's showing matches for loads of teams and there is team memorabilia and flags around the bar. Definitely worth a visit if you're wanting to catch your team during your break.

OK so this was a real disappointment today. The staff is really friendly - I can’t say anything bad. But the food ... no taste and the sandwich I had felt like really old bread. The calamari appetizer was really strange in taste. Now I have a stomach ache and I wonder if this is because of the food. My wife is also not thrilled (she had a salad with only 4 grilled shrimps) and we regret to have gone to this place for lunch. Our daughter simply had plain pasta. The interior looks great, of course, you can have a beer, too (can’t really mess this up) but avoid at all cost the food.

Stopped for lunch. Excellent Shepard's Pie. Friendly, personable staff. Good service at the bar. Not touristy.

We came across Legends after visiting the Empire State Building. The atmosphere was great as well as the food and the drinks. The waitress could've been a little more personable but it was still a good meal. Next time we are in NYC we will definitely go back to watch a game.

Called into Legends to have lunch and check on some lost shopping. Liam could not have been more helpful and had his staff check every where before concluding that the bag of Christmas decorations could not be found. We decided to stay for lunch and have a few drinks. The food was brilliant and served in no time. Thanks again to Liam and all the guys in Legends for your kindness and hospitality

I visited this place last October with my fiance even though the ambiance and quality was good . I found the food to be just more than satisfactory.

Great service, craic, Guinness and sports! Manager/Owner Liam was excellent and went out of his way to insure we had a fantastic time, definitely be back...

Hungry and tired, we. We're greated with a welcoming, smiling waitress. Food was great and plentiful. Atmosphere welcoming and warm. Huge bar, but cosy. Waitress made all the difference and was grateful and thankful for her tip (instead of just expecting it like others). Would highly recommend... This place is what it days on the tin... Legend.

They were awesome. They asked which game we were watching and sat us somewhere that would give us optimum viewing. The food was good, drinks were good and service was good. Overall we would come back and highly recommend it!

I dropped into the bar because it's close to the Empire State Building, where my husband and daughter were touring. Happy Hour offered a reasonable wine for $7 and when my family joined me, we enjoyed the burgers. Ambience is good. Server friendly.

Legends is always Buzzing....busy place no matter the time of day. The staff are friendly and attentive, never wait for a drink! Food is quite good, tasty and fresh. Make sure you go here if you want a fabulous time! There is always a game on. Big shout out to the staff for your wonderful hospitality....thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely will be back on our next trip to NYC!

The food here was ok, pretty tasty but really for what it was its pretty pricey! Potato skins were great and if you're a sports fan there are big screens with various games on which I can see is a huge appeal. Staff friendly which is always a bonus.

What a fun find right near the Empire State building. The Legends sports bar was a great mix of old world architecture, comfy tufted leather booths underneath large artwork. As soon as you walk in the lighting and décor make you feel you’ve entered a classic old New York neighborhood sports bar. We stopped in for a late lunch. Our server was prompt and friendly, and we were immediately served our beverages. Food service was prompt, portions generous. I enjoyed a very fresh arugula salad with beets, goat chees, candied walnuts and cranberry citrus dressing for $12. My husband enjoyed the Classic burger and fries for $15. We watched a soccer game and enjoyed the sounds of other customers cheering and laughing. TV screens abound, but somehow don’t overwhelm the great architecture and woodwork in the building. There was an office party in another area of the restaurant, and areas where people could enjoy quiet dining downstairs. The place is huge – but the floor plan makes it feel cozy. Lots of photos and artwork on the walls, great selection of beers. Wonderful casual dining, friendly staff and a great place to step in off the street and immerse yourself in what feels like an historic building with old world charm. I took note of the chandeliers, woodwork and the beautiful (fully stocked) bar while my husband watching enjoyed multiple sports from our set in a booth. We’ll come back again – we loved the “non-touristy” feel of the establishment.

Enjoyed a fantastic meal here last week while visiting NYC. All meals were brilliant along with 5* service in a great setting. Thanks again!

We went to Legends as we found that they were screening the football match (via New York Canaries). The match was screened at 0915 on the Sunday morning. Lots of other fans I. There - some watching other matches. The hosts were great and the company of the NY Fans was great too. Shots provided free of charge at the end of the game. The toilets were exceptional. So clean and so warm with everything you needed. We will visit again.

Went here to watch boro. Contacted Jack who runs the football factory downstairs and he told me they'd be open at 8am. Perfect for 8.30am kick off. Service was great, nice breakfast bun too. Pint of Stella was decent and never had to wait for a refill. Will definitely return when I'm in NYC next.

Absolutely will NOT be back. Came for the Wilder v. Fury fight. A total of 6 adults. We had a great table with a nice sized tv right in front of it. We had a great waiter that did the best he could to make sure we had everything we needed considering how hectic the place was due to the fight. Food and drinks were ordered, and we enjoyed ourselves. Our tab was almost $300 with an included $44.60 gratuity. When we first began to order, our waiter told us he would need a card to start the tab for the table and that we could split it how we want once it was time to pay. Great. Once the tab comes, each couple assumed they’d be able to provide their card for their portion. He were told that wouldn’t be allowed, despite what we were told when we first ordered. Our 2nd issue was that we noticed our beers were a $1 more than what was stated on the menus that we (and every other table) were given. When we brought this to the waiter’s attention, he said something along the lines of not being able to fix that. One of our guests is a lawyer and explained to our waiter that not only is this deceptive, but it’s illegal to do to patrons. We knew his hands were tied so we asked to speak to the manager. While, we waited the manger walked out of his office and past our table multiple times without any acknowledgement. Our waiter finally comes back and says that “the manager is trying to catch his train” so he wouldn’t be coming to the table. At this point, we were outraged and said we had seen him walk by many times, and reminded them that he had a business to run, train or no train. We also noticed that’s security suddenly came downstairs and discreetly positioned themselves at the bar. Eventually, the manager decides to come over, and we explain what our problem is. His excuse was that we had the wrong menu. We rebutted that every table on our floor was provided with the same menu, so regardless of if they distributed the wrong menu to patrons, the prices provided must be honored. While trying to explain our position, the manager abruptly cuts off the lawyer mid sentence, reaches across my face (close enough for me to have to lean back) to violently point at our friend and said “hey! Don’t you try to start anything. I’m trying to fix this!” We were ABSOLUTELY stunned. The manager STORMS off and removed a portion of the check. We were still in disbelief when the waiter brought it back, and assured him that our issue was NOT with him. We made sure to leave him a very nice tip but assured him we would absolutely be reporting this incident. Clearly, the issue wasn’t the money, considering we had willfully racked up a $300 tab. The issue was the deception and the horrible treatment from the manger. Dine here with SERIOUS caution. We will absolutely NEVER come back, especially considering we each paid a $20 cover for this kind of treatment.

I had a very nice Dinner at the legends in Manhattan New York. Their food was very delicious I enjoyed. I actually went there with my sisters, nice and nephew! The night was very enjoyable. We had a memorable dinner with drinks while the loud music was taking place at the same time. While in Manhattan, please that is the place to go and enjoy without missing my friends.

We were looking for a different restaurant actually, but stumbled in here and got a great surprise. Friendly service minded staff and amazing food! My wife had fajitas that was really good! And I had NY steak that was really perfectly cooked, amazing side dish and probably top 5 steaks I ever had! Big portions as well, and reasonable prices. Only thing negative was the loud noise, but what can we expect from a sports bar.. 6 of 6 stars!

Went in for drink, thinking may eat, but barmaid so disintrested and rude...asked what beers they had on, massive sigh and through menu onto bar, she was busy chatting up some doofus at the bar, for first time in few trips did not leave a tip felt justified...too many great places in the city to ever go back.

Sports Bars, they wouldn’t nearly be as good as Legends! Awesome service, fantastic memorabilia and a vast selection of ales! They play real football on a vast number of screens, as an English person in New York, this is the one and only place to watch by a Royal mile!

We were in the city and looking for a place to see Chelsea v Man City and stumbled across Legends on line. It had great reviews from customers so we went. Great call. This place has real atmosphere if you are a European football fan. We got a great seat for the match. The best thing is the service. The waitstaff were super friendly and not pushy. They just let us watch the game, refilled drinks and treated you well. It was like watching a game at a friend's house, if your friend has a giant bar in their home, that is. Well done, Legends!

We visited here several times during our stay in New York for my birthday over New Year. We had read about the great facilities for watching football and the section dedicated to Newcastle United on the ground floor so visiting was a must. We met some really great people thanks to Dean and friends for making us so welcome and for the complimentary drink. We watched the Blackburn match pity about the result but the experience was fantastic. The flag looks great and we got our photographs taken with some lovely people. The food is not bad either especially the shepherds pie just what you need on a cold day. We will definitely visit here again. Howay the lads!

I was planning to be very disappointed when I came here after visiting the Empire State Building. I was pleasantly surprised. We were seated upstairs and the food and service were both better than expected.

I loved this place! The inside was very rich and looked like it had a ton of character. We had a steak and cheese (which was real steak) and chicken curry. Both were recommended by our server. The food was delicious!

One of the worst management I ever see, no organization at all, the staff behind the bar wasn’t enough( almost 40 min just for a soft drink)one of the manager( bold guy) was very rude with us, I’m sorry to said that but not way I gonna come back here.

Burger was great. What is an Irish curry!!free wifi and sports on tv, could imagine it good later. Friendly staff and refillable Coke.

Huge range of beers, excellent food & big portions, good service by friendly staff (you tip them and they will buy you a beer back), there must be 50 screens with all sport covered, good atmosphere & very centrally placed underneath the Empire State Building.

I am going to start out by saying that I have had better food at other places but this was ok. The servers were pleasant and they were quick with refills. I would return just for the service because the food was not what I had expected it to be!

I come here for the WWE viewing parties and in the initial years when legends started hosting the parties it was great with many great food deals and ambiance but over time that has diminished. Prices for drinks and food has gone up, quality of food has diminished. There's always streaming problems that can't be fixed in every ppv. It's good to come because you're experience it with other fans what transpire in the show but if there was anything else, better than this place I would take it at a heartbeat. Lastly 90% of the time when I go with my group of 2 friends, we never get served or we have to start chasing down the person serving us to actually get an order in...ridiculous

Wonderful bar, hidden right around the corner from the Empire State building. On arrival staff were suspicious of me and my partner as we are 18. However as soon as we said we wanted a meal they were so friendly and accommodated every request. The bar is very impressive with a huge stock on display. The bar is clean and the atmosphere was very lively with a fresh feel to it. The TV's were positioned perfectly to avoid distraction but were still kept in good eye sight. The bar appears to have 2 - 3 levels (unclear) but is very spacious. Me and my partner chose to sit in the restaurant area. It was very cosy, isolated, atmospherical mood to it. It really felt part of the bar but also a whole restaurant entirely, perfect dining area. The waiters we had were always asking how we were, were attending to every detail, chatted with us with happy smiles. To the manager I must say if he/she reads this, you have a terrific team of workers and please relay this to them. The food was incredible. Big portions you must go with a hungry stomach. I had the salmon which the skin was so crispy and inside was rich and smooth. The mash with it was creamy and buttery. The veg was cooked so well not too much and not too little. The pesto sauce was amazing variety of flavour. Definitely recommend this dish. My partner had the burger and she described it as 'cooked to perfection'. This is a wonderful bar in New York and not a single thing wrong with it, I would, and have already, recommend this bar.

The Euros were on and we had to watch England play, so it was breakfast at Legends. If you want to catch a game, this is a good place to come, food wise it was a little average. I had the pancakes and they were a little stodgy and not as light and fluffy as you would expect.

So impressed with the service and the quality of the good, staff friendly and helpful, very attentive, but not overbearing

Been in New York 5 days and haven’t had a bad meal until now. New York strip was over cooked and very thin cut of meat. Creme Brûlée was the worst I’ve ever had. Will say the calamari was decent. The chicken was a large portion but smothered in demi glacé that was none flavorful and mashed potatoes were thin and tasted like dried rehydrated. Amazed they are still open.

I am a local New Yorker. My wife & I came here to watch a soccer game & to be part of the Italian team Juventus fan club. My wife is a huge fan & has always wanted to come and be with fellow fans. I am 7 1/2 months pregnant definitely showing and I had a decaf iced tea made at home. The cup had the tea bag string showing from the cup. Before we even had a chance to practically walk in the door & older man came charging at me yelled at me that I can't come in with my drink. Hey I get it but there was not need to yell & no need to treat a pregnant woman the way he did. I tried to explain & all he could well I don't know what's in there seriously I'm pregnant if I am drinking decaf tea I really don't think I am going to spike my tea with liquor. It was all just how he treated me, I was so disgusted. We of course left & went down the street to Nelly's what a great move. They had great food great staff & we got to enjoy the game!!!

When my wife and I tried to check in for our tour at the Empire State building, we were 30 minutes early. The official sent us around the corner for a drink on 33rd. The server was great; the decorations were festive. As a wine drinker, I wasn't happy with my Merlot, but the pour was generous if I'd had the time to drink it.

My son eats a lot of hamburgers and he said the kobe beef burger was the best burger he has ever eaten. It was a neat atmosphere, we just went late and crowd was small. Be aware the kitchen closes at 10:00 pm

We wanted somewhere to watch an English PL football (soccer) match & heard about this from googling! When we arrived, tbh, the greeting wasn’t the best - we were told we had to go downstairs even though we could see lots of tables on the entrance level - downstairs looked really dark & as the football was on the TV’s where we were, I asked if we could sit there. The young lady agreed, but clearly didn’t want us to stay on that level, why? Anyway, we ordered burgers & drinks which were good.

Over 4 years I have worked my way through the menu. The food has always been of high standard with very good service. TV's to watch various sports and plenty of wine, beer and food choices. As Australians we still don't understand gridiron but it's interesting to watch. It can be busy and noisy on sports days but through the week it's fine just eat in the dining area.

Limited beers, So I ordered a Stella. The beer was skunked and flat. The waitress kindly exchanged for a Heineken that was on the warmer side but at least was fizzy. From the outside, the menu seemed doable at the time since we were short on time. My wife had wanted to order a seafood dish but once seated at our table we realized that burgers seemed to be the safest option. Burgers were pretty satisfying. The Dubliner had a huge patty, but the overall experience was just another grease pit joint with flat beer.

Eat here after being recommended by another place that had stopped serving food. Oh my goodness the hanger steak was absolutely stunning. My mouth still watering thinking about it. Other food on our table looked good too. Service was good and good price too

Visited with a friend one evening for food / drinks and would highly recommend. Always pay a visit whilst in NYC

We went to this restaurant for lunch. When we arrived, we were the first guests that day but the service that we received made one think that the restaurant was super crowded. It took longer than expected for our beverage orders to be taken. In addition, the iced tea that one person ordered tasted funny, it was replaced by a Sprite that tasted like seltzer water. The third time with another Sprite was the charm. The gentleman cleaning the tables was very attentive but the server rarely checked on us. The food was very good but the service is the reason for 4 stars vs 5.

We ate here one evening. Lots of sports tv screens. The Dubliner burger was very good, my Turkey burger was cold, they did me another which was hot but with pink bits inside so I didn't finish it. The chips were not nice. The service was good, overall a bit expensive but I think that is an exchange rate problem more than anything else. We did not go back.

this is the place to go to watch all English football games - they have over 40 screens and the food is fab - I was lucky to get a 80 inch screen all to myself as my booth was right opposite - great service and great place - easy walking distance from Macey's so the girls can go shopping - or the boys

We decided to eat at Legends after checking out other places in the area and so glad we did. Our male waiter was a delight, very friendly and provided a professional but relaxed service. I chose the Sliders (a new term for me) and my husband the steak burger. The Sliders were three small beef burgers, perfectly cooked, served with potato crisps. The lime pie to finish was bliss! Great start to our holiday.

This was a nice place to turn up and eat. Had a good atmosphere if you were looking for a snack, drink and watch some sport. Near to Empire State Building. Good service and not to pricey. Good selection of American style food if you want to snack in between meals.

Been here a couple of times for after-works happy hours. The bar is spacious and the food was decent with the standard fare of pub food. Service was good as well, the waiteresses were prompt

Reasonable prices but the service and selection make this a massive plus for me. Visited twice during the long weekend we stayed.

We got here early in the day and as the day went on the place filled really quickly, a mixture of people getting food and others just having a drink. We got a portion of wings which were amazing, so i’m sure it sets the tone for everything else too on the menu. We got speaking to the owner Liam, and it turns out he is from the exact same area in Belfast, Northern Ireland as we are, only he has lived here since 1981 😀 He gave us a free drink which was nice of him and his whole demeanour is a tribute to the person he is and why his bar/restaurant is so successful. Legends has many screens for watching sports etc and is well situated close to Macy’s and a few other stores too. Highly recommend for a visit if ever in New York.

We had a wonderful experience. Tasty American food, great service and a memorable day when Sweden made the European Soccer Playoff! Could not be better!

Drinks are cheap! People are friendly plus the music is good. Selection of beer & wines are ok. It's a large venue

Amazing experience here ! Really busy bar with great atmosphere … gorgeous food and cocktails and friendly staff. Would recommend

I have to say very surprised to find the toilet say handicapped. So out dated I have a disability but I'm not handicapped

Best bar in New York for all sports. Food is perfect and big portions. Cracking bar staff and managers ever so friendly. The staff help your stay in New York to be an enjoyable one, giving tips where to go and what to see. Cannot wait to get back there.

Great food and drinks, talked with the owner, history of restaurant given, great atmosphere, everyone enjoying their time there, LSU college bar during football season

This is definitely a great place to watch a sporting event. If you love LSU and find yourself in NYC during the CWS while the tigers are playing, then this is where you want to be. The food isn't bad, they have a good selection of beer, but the atmosphere ... whether you're upstairs on the sofas or downstairs at a table, is exciting.

Our first meal in NYC. Great service, delicious food and reasonably priced. Lovely cocktails and free bubbly because it was Valentines Day. Would definitely recommend.

We stopped into Legends for dinner. I had a pasta dish and a beer. If you are looking for a casual sports bar and decent food, I guess it's okay.

We came to the home of Chelsea supporters club in NYC. The beer selection is a bit limited, televisions aplenty and some good dishes. It was enjoyable but again limited beer selection.

My friend and I went to Legends for the FA Cup match between Chelsea and Everton. As advertised, the game was on almost every screen throughout the bar. We sat upstairs, just grabbing a table with the best view of the game. There were many passionate fans, but the atmosphere was calmer than I expected, which was nice.If you want the real "hooligan" experience, however, go downstairs! It's loaded with club flags, memorabilia, and a slew of fans looking to erupt at the twists and turns of each match. Either way, there is an atmosphere for the casual fan or the hooligan.

We were looking for a place to stop in before a late night visit to the Empire State Building Observatory Deck. Boy, did Legends deliver! The steak fajitas were some of the best I've ever had and I'm pretty picky with my Mexican food. Enough for 2 people too, which was a bonus.

Near the Empire State Building you will find Legends NYC. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an old American bar upgraded into the 21st century. Very Americana with some leather booths and lots of TV's showing various sports. A fantastic atmosphere day and night. Well worth a visit

This restaurant is touted as a good Szechuan restaurant. The food is terrible bearing no resemblance to anything authentic that is Szechuan.

Very nice place, we only stopped for some late night drinks after going around the corner to The Empire State building. We told the bartender that we had just gotten engaged and she gave us a free round of drinks, very nice of her and it just helped to make our night better.

My boys and I visited the place on a vacation to NY to watch baseball. The friendly host brought us full menus as we made our decision. We decided to try and were met by a friendly waitress who immediately brought us drinks. The AC was great and appreciated. We liked that they had several seating choices from high tables, booths, or low tables. Lots of TV to watch sports too! :D The menu was sort of brew pub typical plus. Nothing too surprising. I had a FANTASTIC turkey burger that was HUGE. :) My sons had pizza and a burger. The food was excellent. One of the only 5 star places we visited on our trip to NY. Highly recommended. :D

While I went shopping my husband went to this bar to watch a game. I then went to join him. He met me outside and when we walked in the bouncer stopped us at the door to ask for identification. I had some on me but my husband had none. He told my husband that he could not drink. My husband explained to him that he had been drinking at the bar the past 2 hours. The bouncer would not listen. So rude. I have been here plenty of times before and loved it. This staff member ruined it.

Terrible, cold and overcooked for a $34 piece of beef, hateful wine to flee absolutely I never leave a review but now I take the time They're not restaurateurs. Terrible place

Incredible place, we loved the decoration! And the waitresses are so kind. So recommended! And by the way, the WiFi is really good.

i was recommended this bar last time in NYC to see Prem leg match and it was buzzing. I arrived early (for UK kick off time) and enjoyed large full breakfast...and a plus was that Alan Hansen and his wife were seated next to me....so being a Liverpool fan enjoyed a small conversation with the Liverpool legend in Legends!

Stopped in for late dinner on a Thursday. Football Factory was closed but got to watch a fun soccer game in the bar area with some very entertaining fans. Good service and excellent Wings. Lentil+Bacon soup was also very good and a huge portion. Overall, excellent experience. Stayed at NYMA hotel right around the block.

All the premiership and top pick championship matches on live. Well sectioned off and great atmosphere. Met up with the New York eagles (Crystal Palace ex pat community). Such a welcome bunch. All fans mingled well and great vibe.

All the bars were packed, but this place did a great job in crowd control. Bartenders were alert and attentive. They were very busy, but still were friendly. Drinks didn't take a long time to get. Had a good time here with my friends.

Decided to go in here for dinner and drinks after visiting the nearby Empire State Building. Mistake! It was our first night in New York, so we decided to "go local" and found this place. It was obvious from the outside that it was a sports bar (I have absolutely no problem with this) and that there was a decent crowd inside screaming at the plebtiful TV screens dotted around the interior. The hostess greeted us as we entered, sized us up, and directed us to a table towards the back of the venue - a good choice. There were loads of empty tables, a quiet selection of diners, and enough staff. We (my wife and I, that is) both continued the local theme and orderd NY striploin steaks with a blue cheese dressing, creamed spinach, and onion rings. The onion rings were OK; ditto the spinach. However, the blue cheese was not a sauce at all, but blue cheese simply crumbed all over the steak - and I mean all over!! Sorry to say, but the cheese was in no way blue - it was far too immature to have ever developed the mould growths that give blue cheese its creamy but astringent flavours. This was so young that it was like eating acid. And I'm afraid the steak itself wasn't much better. Once I'd scraped away the cheese I just couldn't eat (over half of it - and I normally LOVE blue cheese) I was left with a decent sized piece of meat, but one that should never have left the shop. It was thin, dry, gristly and fatty. I ate about half - no comment from the waitress. No query about whether we had enjoyed the meal. Just an enquiry about whether we wanted the check. Not that she wasn't polite and friendly - just uninterested. And I suppose that could have been because that particular night, the New York Yankees were playing their wild card game for entry proper into the ALDS play-offs. An understandable distraction - but she was still at work! Recommended? Well, the beers and wine were fine, so maybe yes if you're only after drinks. Will I return? Only if I'm very thirsty and not hungry at all.

Stopped here after Empire State Building, staff seemed very friendly accommodating (took them a while to decide who was taking care of us) but they were very attentive. Food was ok but the one exception was my daughter's Mac and cheese and it was awesome! The manager was very nice as well.

I meet up with some people here every once in a while for drinks. Legends have a great energy and its and really fun! Great for a soccer game too!

From the moment you walk in you feel so casual like you've been a regular for year. All wood Irish-pub style interior with an American touch, numerous tvs accross the bar for you to watch and enjoy for favourite sporting event. First time we went there (a party of 7, 4 adults and 3 teenagers) was after a tiresome day for a quick energy refill ... cold beer! We were taken by this bar and the friendly waiters that we've visited it for another 2 times for luch a dinner during our 7 days stay in NY. Food was equally great, loved the legends BBQ chicken wings (taken them as main course, yiammi), fish and chips, chicken tenders and burgers and of course lots of beer (for the grown-ups). We trully miss this place now that we are back home.

A bunch of us were meeting in NYC for a friends stag weekend. We researched and seemed Legends was the place to be to watch football. We are all 40 somethings, out together for the first time in 10 years. I am afraid the meat head they employed to "oversee" the bar rules would be better placed at a back street bar - throwing out troublesome drunks. He was rude from the off. Then turning aggressive. If his aim was to get us to leave, it worked. We found another bar a few blocks down and ended up having a blast. That bar took $800 extra that day and the servers were more than happy. Legends - avoid it. End of story

I wandered into this barn grill purely by accident I was slightly lost in New York trying to find somewhere and want to try New York steak I had a lemonade, beer battered onion rings which came in a basket (something I think UK might want to consider!) and a steak sandwich with hand cut fries which basically looks like potato wedges all of which was extremely delicious and very affordable at $32 I would definitely recommend this place and will get back again

This bar/restaurant is AMAZING. It has the most friendly staff i have ever met!! Liam the owner is a Legend himself. The food was the best i had while in NYC for 6 days. We ate here most days. I cant wait to go back to NYC and i will defo be paying Legends a visit

I came here by accident looking for some nice place to eat before visiting the Empire State Building. The interior is very classy, dark with elegant wood and leather, complete with original decorations that create an unconventional atmosphere. I ate here the best mac and cheese ever with lovely bread crumble on top. The green chili burger was no less tasty. Such a cool place to hang out.

We stopped in on a rainy afternoon to watch a college football game and have lunch. Great atmosphere. Lots of character, great food and a fine selection of beer. We sat for a couple of hours watching the game and enjoying our lunch, beer, and company. Our servers were not hurried or pressuring us, but were always available for another beer. The pub was close to our apartment and we'll definitely go back again.

The pizza was decent here bur the pineapple mojito was good. It's a sportswear so I will go here and see the ufc event.

We are so glad we found this great pub in New York to watch the FAcup final Chelsea v Man Utd Great atmosphere, efficient friendly staff who had it all under control. Highly recommend especially is a Chelsea fan

Love this bar. Great sport on lots of tv,s, good food with excellent service. On both occasions we were lucky enough to get a booth. Stayed a couple of hours both times. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the sports banter. Worth a visit if your at that end of town.

Other sports bars pale in comparison to legends. The food is amazing, reasonably priced, and they have two floors for a different atmosphere if you need a change.

If you wanna watch soccer games coming form all over the world you better come here...if you will experience legends only once in your life, you'll never forget it's magic atmosphere !!!

I went here with a group of friends and it was amazing. I thought it was expensive then I realised everywhere in NY is expensive! I’d definitely recommend a visit here.

Came to legends bar as the Aston villa supporters club were meeting here to watch a game. Situated opposite the entrance to the Empire State Building the bar is a beautifully finished Irish style bar. Downstairs is the soccer/football den called the football factory, loads of big screens, atmosphere and a great selection of beer. Upstairs is the restaurant/sports bar with every sports game on a tv somewhere. The selection of beers again is outstanding and the Irish/American food is fantastic, the atmosphere is buzzing. We hadn't been in there half an hour and the owner and brought us a drink for our anniversary, a great guy, he got us a drink again on our next visit the next day something only one other bar owner had done in my many NYC visits (Jimmy Glenn at jimmys corner) The owner is a great guy who makes everyone welcome. Make this a must visit, shame I only found it the day before I came home.

Great tv screens to watch sport. We were able to watch the NY Yankees baseball while eating and drinking. Heading back on Saturday morning to watch the Sheffield Wednesday game !

Great little bar opposite Empire State Building. On 3 levels with plenty of tables. Staff were friendly and attentive. Picked a spot at the bar to watch the football. Great choice of beers $8 a drink.

We are from Louisiana, and when we heard that there was an "LSU" bar in NYC, we were skeptical at first. We went during the LSU / Ole Miss game and had the best time. LSU fans filled the place! The place was just like being in the stadium, with all the appropriate music being played at the appropriate times. We had steak fajitas when we visited, and they were some of the best fajitas we have had. I know Legends isn't an LSU bar all the time, but if any LSU fans are visiting NYC during the season, be sure and watch the Tigers there. You will not be disappointed.

Went with friends was a large crowd here fairly packed .... Some comfy chairs plenty of seating areas

Watched Premier League Man City v Man Utd here.. pub was packed an hour before kick off.. opened the 2nd floor bar.. lots of nice relaxing leather sofas and plenty of big screens to see the game on.. one of the bar staff (little Irish guy - maybe one of the owners) was buying us shots on the house when United scored :-) really great atmosphere before the game and got even busier after for the college American football game.. not an empty seat to have.. worth a visit..

We came for the game, and have a bite while we are here. They have multiple TV's in the downstairs area that are wonderful for watching the game. The environment is perfect. Supporters for your side and their side will be there creating an amazing match environment. Generally we start our mornings with a Magner's Cider. I highly recommend it. They don't start serving Breakfast/Brunch until 11am, but sometimes will let us order ahead of this if an early game is on. They will serve coffee and tea first thing in the morning though! Traditional Irish Breakfast Irish Bacon, Bangers, Black & White Pudding, Beans $16 Highly recommend this dish! Two Eggs Any Style Served the way you like with Bacon or Sausage & Toast $8 Great simple traditional dish.

Visited these guys twice, first to watch soccer and then again to watch wrestling. A superb atmosphere and exceptional buffalo wings.

So... at the entrance we were told they serve vegan options. As we sat down and wanted to order they had nothing but humus and salad. We did feel a little irritated by that. The other food was okay, noodles fell apart as they were cooked to long and the sauce didn’t taste like anything really. Also icecubes for the drinks never arrived at the table although we asked about 5 different ppl several times. For half the price it would be okay normal fastfood dining.

The food is overpriced , bang average and the coffee's truly terrible . Decent screens and plenty of places to sit particularly upstairs and if you're a neutral it's fine but they let both sets of fans in for Premier League games and that never ends well especially if they're English .... if you're a passionate supporter of a particular club there are plenty of other places to go where you won't get ripped off or feel threatened .... just contact your local NYC supporters club ...

Visited here with friends and their 14 yr old son last week for a late bite. The blue explosion cocktail was great and prices were fairly reasonable for the food or a little high for beers. The spinach artichoke and cheese dip served with warm pitta was delicious. The shrimp cocktail had several huge prawns but not much else. The nachos were great as were the mozzarella sticks. Good atmosphere and helpful service. No issues with having a teen with us. Lots of TVs with various sports. Comfy booths and cosy lighting.

A very nice restaurant bar upstairs with a sports bar downstairs. Flags and scarfs adorn the walls from all around the world in the downstairs bar. The food is nice, the starters are large portions. Cocktails are good too, they have themed days/nights when big sporting events are on.

I have been there few times already. The reason of going there was, of course, to watch my favorite team playing. But honestly I was not in need to find another places to go because at Legends they are very nice, very gentle, even though a lit bit pushy and the american style food they serve is very good. Ample choice of beer. Being just in front of The Empire State Building, the location is great, very easy to find. They have WI-FI as well which is very fast and always working. Recommended!

Great place to watch a soccer game. Excellent menu, food, draft and bottled beer offerings.. Very friendly and helpful staff. Attracts a polite crowd. My go to place for any type of televised sports viewing in NYC.

Lovely food, very friendly staff, which I have not found in several places we have visited over the past few days in New York. Reasonable priced and looks really festive with all the decorations.great place.

Having spent 3 weeks on the west coast and 10 days in New York, this place is the clear winner of the worst meal on the trip. Not only that worst ever bar none. I ordered the Dubliner burger. Tasted awful and could not help thinking it was reheated . Did not manage half of it and it was clear what I thought but waitress didn't even comment. Tired after a long day I couldn't be bothered complaining . I should have known when the first table they offered me was unstable and the second meant my back was catching drips from the air on vent. The fact it was so dark made it difficult to see just how terrible it was ...I can only speculate that is intentional. There are loads of great bars , sports bars etc in NYC ..I have had great bar food in all of them. Avoid this place!

Excellent atmosphere. Good beer selection and lots of tv's to enjoy your favorite club. Ici C'est Paris!! Pretty good GF menu to boot. Try the pizza.

After a long day my wife threatened me with Macy's - I suggested we go our seperate ways for an hour to escape. Rambled around and came across this place and told the hostess I only wanted to have a beer ie. no food. I was directed to the bar where I waited, and waited, and waited. There were 2 tenders behind the bar - 1 was counting change and the other shooting the breeze at the other end of the bar while myself and others waited for about 10 minutes for a drink. Have to say I do begrudge the tipping culture in New York when you get this kind of "service". I was almost glad to head back to Macy's after my beer. It was more expensive but less frustrating!

The thing is it’s a big pub well laid out with plenty of tellys and seats upstairs with a “den” of some sort downstairs but the prices, come on guys no specials when the footballs on? What’s that all about, premium prices for all the draught beers 8 or 9 dollars. Throw in some starters to eat (sharing with partner) and after a couple of hours you are looking at over $100. I’m sorry but that’s ridiculous, you ain’t the only bar showing the football and that’s the last time I will be going, it’s a rip off. The nachos were shocking drowning in some form of cheese that I was unaccustomed to People might be thinking that come over from the Uk, that it’s the only pub showing the football, far from it. I found lots, Abbey Tavern on 3rd Avenue (discounted beer, good seating, good food), Brazen Tavern West 44th Street, again good prices and good reasonable food. These are just a few examples but if you go in most NY bars and ask them to put the football on they will.

Came here to watch Newcastle beat Chelsea 3-0 🎉. It’s located next to the Empire State Building and easy to find - numerous football (or soccer) matches shown upstairs and downstairs and multiple screens - downstairs is where the action is, various local supporters clubs converge with massive flags for friendly banter and rivalry - lots of football chants going on. If you love football/soccer and you’re in town this is the place to go see your team play. Good beer, reasonably priced and friendly staff - although it is a bit odd drinking at 10am.

Most of the food here is just OK. The ambiance is very low-key during lunch. I've never been here past 5PM. It looks like it might be a great spot to catch a sporting event and a drink. I personally love the arugula Steak Salad and in my opinion the best thing on the menu. I've ordered other things and it was just mediocre bar food. It's so close to where I work and convenient to go to for business lunches...unfortunately. I'd rather go elsewhere, like Rattle and Hum.

2 Friends visiting NYC , we met two locals Dave and Ray, Dave left me his number for a free trip up the empire state, however I lost the napkin he left the number on we had all had a lot to drink, if they’re known at the bar tell them Daniel and Matthew appreciated their company. We were welcomed as locals and had a good drink with some new friends from across the pond. Bar staff great too just a shame Leeds united weren’t playing. Great bar

Went there last minute to catch a Serie A game and it was on like 10 TV's with its own space and many other ac Milan fans. Had multiple and simple menus for food and beverage, truly amazing and delicious. Had plenty to offer besides a true fan watching experience. Beers range from 6-9 dlls.. Loved it

We came here on a Sunday to watch the cowboys game. Everyone was so accommodating. The drinks were great. My husband drank beer and I had the chocolate martini. The bartender was great as were the waiters/waitresses. Great place to watch a game!

Stopped in for a nightcap. I was pleased they had Jameson Irish Whiskey, Caskmates, Stout Edition. Sure $11 is alot for a single shot, but hey, it's NYC and I will say it seemed like a fairly generous pour. Bartender had a friendly fun vibe. Like the place. May return at some point to try additional things offered.

Several times, we have come in to the city from Penn Station around lunch time. It's convenient and the food is good. This time, we each had a beer. I had the turkey burger and my husband had the beef stew (the special that day). The portions were ample, the service good and we didn't wait long. We'll go back again.

Good bar with great atmosphere for watching sport. We went to watch a football game while in NYC (I know...) and was a fun venue for a couple of hours. Wouldn't particularly recommend the food but good option for drinks / sports fans.

Excellent Chinese on 72 and Columbus. Legends was reasonable and the food was delicious. Atmosphere clean and the restaurant is Michelin rated! I give it 5 stars!!!

Great place to grab a drink and some grub if you enjoy a lively American sports bar. We went before a New York Rangers game and ended up back here at the end of our trip too! Great atmosphere!

Visited this bar today! Such good food, had a bowl of mac and cheese, it was so good! Such a big portion! Had blue moon beers which were so cold and refreshing, great after been in the sun. Had a sheffield Wednesday scarf downstairs too - up the owls!!! Great service and experience.

Just another sports bar-nothing special-apart from the bar staff having no personalities. Ordered the same drink 3 times and tasted differently each time!

Had lovely food and good service in this restaurant/bar. Lovely Irish girl who gave good sight-seing advice, put football on screen nothing was too much bother. Food good pub grub and nce surroundings

This was a unquie experience while being in the states while on business didnt really get to try many dishes but from what I had it was okay. left happy but always room for improvement.

I usually stay within or around the area where Legends is every time I hit NYC and so it’s usually my first port of call for dinner on my arrival night. It never disappoints and the staff are always great. A little gutted that my favourite scampi dish has been taken off the menu, but the rare beef sliders were tasty. My wife went for the chicken nachos which come on a huge plate with everything on them you can imagine. All washed down with a couple of beers. A great way to start a trip.

This has got to be the worst service ever in a restaurant/bar and they automatically add 20% to your check .... any check even if you are alone. This was confirmed by the server who we had at a table of 4. She wouldn't even stop at our table during our five hour stay! Pathetic Service.

Gorgeous food, big portions. Great customer service, friendly staff. Cracker atmosphere. Music on, sport on TVs. Great value for money!!

Staggered in too late due to flight delays to see the Leicester game downstairs but were made very welcome by the remaining Leicester fans from Ohio and the other folk in there. Greeted like old friends when we revealed we were from Leicester. During the course of our stay in New York we ate there three times and were well fed and watered. If it is on the specials I will recommend the sausage and mash. The fish and chips on the fixed menu was surprisingly good.Good range of beers! Even Newcastle Brown and Bass on draught. The prices were very reasonable and the staff so welcoming especially the young lad named Mike who was superb.Thank you all for helping in a big way two elderly people from the UK to have a memorable time in your fantastic city. C'mon the Foxes!!!

Really the worst food they have served me, paella without flavor and rice like a risotto then my partner ordered an overcooked New York we had seen this restaurant on Instagram it seemed that it was good but I do not recommend it I think I should change chef or a more professional cook

Our visit to the Empire State building took a long time, With long Queues. After exiting we were both very hungry and thirsty. After a quick search, we ended up at this sports bar. Which turned out to serve us well. We had 1 bangers and mash, 2 Buffalo wraps and a classic burger meny. And 4 soft drinks. Ended up around 84 USD before tips (NYC is not cheap...) We all relaxed, enjoyed OK service and found the Food to be OK given that this is a sports bar. Good Choice for a quick meal when visiting Empire State building. Ursus

The Yankees really know how to do hospitality - we were visiting Mets fans but had great tixs by the Yankees dugout with access to the Legends suite. The food was amazing - unlimited buffet with everything you could eat - my teenage son ate for America! Great service - pay for your own alcohol but I have no problem with that. Really worth paying the extra $$ for the experience of great meal and great game seats.

You have the chance to watch all sports on that bar. I'm a "real football/soccer" fan and that is the right place to be when you wanna watch a match with your friends. I got a mexican snack and 2 Karlsbergs Draft it was good and cheap.

It is a challenge to find good Chinese food around this area so if you are looking for decent Chinese food with good seating area, try this place. Food is tasty.

Top notch! Was here for 2012 final four! Private VIP upstairs! Service was great! Paid one price and drank all night! Best time I've had in NYC!

A good bar big in size with a great selection of drinks, bar staff particularly good who recommended us a great italian restaurant. Food good in Legends great atmosphere in the bar gets very busy but everyone in the bar is intent having a good time. A look up from outside the bar gives you a great view of the Empire State Building so location is ideal.

We stopped into Legends for a beer and dinner, but the atmosphere during the Copa America match was great. From the singing of the National Anthem for both teams it was great fun. I am looking forward to our next visit. The food was good, not great. They had some interesting specials. The Chicken Pot Pie was very good, the Dubliner Burger was average. Everything was served in large portions. The wait staff was attentive and worked hard in a busy environment. I would recommend Legends when in NYC.

We were there a Friday night for something to eat. It turned out they have a DJ on weekends and he played WAY to loud. We could actually not speak during dinner. Food was good, beer excellent and service fast.

My family and I decided to eat here after visiting the Empire State Building. I have a peanut and seafood allergy which I informed the waiter of before ordering. My daughter ordered a pesto chicken dish that was listed on the paper menu at the restaurant. I sampled some of her food and started to feel sick shortly thereafter. When I got back to the hotel and my symptoms worsened, I rechecked the menu online and there it was - peanuts! My daughter assured me that the menu in the restaurant never mentioned peanuts. Since pesto is normally made with pine nuts (which I can eat) I really didn’t think I had anything to worry about. I ended up going to the emergency room. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my NYC vacation. I followed up with the restaurant manager the next day, suggesting he either clearly mark dishes that contain known allergens, on all menus, or remove the dish entirely. He was apologetic but his explanation was that since it was on the paper menu, it was one of the “chef specials” But does that mean the ingredients can’t be listed?! I doubt any changes will be made so please be forewarned if you happen to have food allergies!

Visited on a weekday afternoon and was really busy but seated and seved quickly. Great selection of drinks and food and loads of screens to watch varied sports. Nice place, food was ok.

Legends is easy to find and easy to like. If you like sport, food and drink then this is a great place to go in Midtown Manhatten. The food came in generous portions and was delicious. The service was excellent and the staff were attentive without being intrusive, the food came promptly and there was no awkward wait between courses. Sport on lots of different screens just made it even better for me. Great.

Myself and my boyfriend are from England on our first trip to NYC. We went to the Empire State Building for an evening trip and went looking for a bar. We found Legends hidden around the corner from the Empire State Building and decided to give it a try. We were so impressed we came back three nights in a row. All the staff are friendly, special shout-out to Yohannes the bar man (I hope I spelt that right) and the blonde waitress (who's name we didn't get but she was lovely) who served us two nights in a row. They made us feel incredibly welcome and it was as if we were locals instead of tourists/visitors. It's a shame we didn't discover this place on our first night. The food is fairly priced and very tasty; we had the chicken wings with BBQ sauce as well as the mac'n'cheese and steak...we were very impressed. Tip these guys what they deserve, I would highly recommend this place to all my family and friends as well as to you guys.

A group of us, having a few quiet drinks on a Sunday evening- the place was almost empty and it wasn't late. We all choose to sit down- not allowed- as we didn't ask to sit when we arrived. Every table was empty (can see why if you aren't allowed to sit down). So the choice was to continue standing or leave. The whole group of 12 chose to leave and take our money elsewhere, where you can sit.

We came by after going to the top of the Empire State Building. The food and drinks were average. Just a standard sports bar.

Great bar, the football factory downstairs shows football from dawn to dusk on match day. Not expensive but decent food and drink. Two great Irishmen run the downstairs and I am glad I don't work as hard as them, it's non stop. If you're in NYC and like sport Legends is the top bar for you

Eat here on two occasions while in New York. Friday evening after travelling for over 10 hours, it was round the corner from our hotel NYMA (separate review) big bar with lovely friendly staff, great menu, BE WARNED HUGE PORTIONS. Meals are very reasonably priced drinks in USA are more expensive than U.K. Also eat Sunday afternoon both times the service was great and food was lovely just far too much did feel bad leaving so much but we should of really shared the meals.

This is a great bar. Lots of drinks to choose from and the food is fantastic. We both had the grilld ny strip steak and all I can say is I am going back to ny soon and the reason is to have the ny strip steak again.. fantastic

They were salting the flat beer! Otherwise, fast, friendly servers. Enjoyed a large portion of very good Chicken Marsala.

The food was good and the service as well. What upset me was the 20% tip included in the bill. Typically tip is included in checks for groups of 6 people or more, we were 5. Also if tip is to be included in the check, it is generally noted on the menu (it wasn't here). The restaurant was not full, a quiet Monday night, and we were a group of professional adults just having an after work dinner. Probably it was because we all have an accent, but I have lived here for 25 years, and been dining all over the city with group of friends and never have I seen tips included in the check. Tip is not mandatory, it should be the customer's decision to leave whatever s/he wants. We would have left 20% anyway, but to have it show up on the bill left a bad taste. Not going back. So, tourists especially, beware, check your bill before paying, because here they don't tell you that they will add the tip to your check. I think this is called cheating, scamming, fraud.... Also know that it is your right to ask for it to be removed.

Service was ok when I visited, greeted as soon as I walked in, seated and provided with menus. The food itself was average. Some issues: No displayed prices for beers, just a list (you had to ask). Some prices differed on their online menu compared to their “in restaurant” menu (a number of items were cheaper on the menu displayed inline). Also when I asked for the bill, gratuity was already built in at 20%, I hate when they do that. I only had cash so handed over what was 26% over the the bill amount and the server never came back with any change, seemingly just assumed I was tipping 26%. In the end I could not be bothered to chase her down over it and left.

Stopped in for lunch with my wife and son and enjoyed the meal, service, and atmosphere. The only downside is the price of drinks. I guess it's typical for midtown, but I'll never get used to $11 for a Guiness, and it's not an Imperial pint. I'm not even sure it was a regular 16 oz. pint

Great for beer and watching a game. The food is horrible. nachos made with cheese whiz. "Grilled" chicken that tastes and looks like it was boiled and a mushy veggie burger. Not sure I've been to a bar with food this bad in a long time.

This is a fun, lively pub. Plenty of TVs for whatever games are playing. We both really enjoyed our lunches and the process were very reasonable. The waitstaff was excellent. I would definitely go back.

Off the clock, best restaurant. Special mention to Yuni looked after us beyond belief. Honestly great bar with wonderful people can't recommend highly enough!!!

This bar was fine in itself but didn’t stand out from a very busy crowd of similar places. The food was typically sorts bar, as were the drinks etc. Generally not a memorable visit. It was ok for a Sunday night.

I was recently in NYC with family and had arranged to meet more family. We found legends by chance following a review from family members. 5 of us visited the pub on the friday evening and had the best meal we had in three days. We ended up staying until the small hours. We even moved our family get together from a nearby hotel to here for the saturday night, and even do there was a boxing match on the fitted us in and the service was great. A must do stop on any trip.

Great place but was suprised my 19 year old son could not join myself and my wife down stairs to watch the football , after Travelling all the way from North Carolina . No mention of adults only !!! Prior to arrival !!!

When I found I would be in NYC on the day Chelsea FC could win the league, I needed to find a place to watch the match. This was the overwhelming suggestion and I can see why. Tons of screens. Not a seat in the place without a view of the match. Manages to keep a nice pub atmosphere. The staff was friendly and totally cool with us sitting for 90+ minutes grazing and food and nursing our drinks. The appetizers were a little odd - we should have skipped them. Greasy. Our entrees were good. Decent sized portions. Filling. Tasted good. Tried the fried oreos for dessert!

I loved this place! Great sports bar/restaurant with a lower level dining area that has a live DJ on Fridays spinning old school classics. GREAT atmosphere, food and Drinks- all reasonably priced. Great Service. Would definitely go back again!!!!

The Irish owner was extremely generous. Our tour company booked for the wrong date and when 46 of us showed up on the itenary date, he generously seated us. He allowed us to order anything off the menu and bought everyone a round of drinks. This was above and beyond great service. It wasn't his fault but he chose to step up and make our dining experience wonderful. I personally thanked him and he came to our table twice to check on us. If I could give more stars I would.

Nearby MSG made it convenient for pre-concert meal. Food was good. Staff very attentive. Shout out to newly arrived bartender from Louisana who made waiting for my friends enjoyable.

We visited this bar during a Saint Patrick's weekend visit. The staff are friendly especially the girl that was working early on Sunday morning. The beer and food is very good. Also a great bar for watching sports. Open very early too.

Right across from Empire State Building. Sports Bar good atmosphere the fajitas were excellent and the bar manager was a very friendly Irishman.

Nice pub atmosphere - traditional heavy wood booth seating on the one hand and sports bar feeling near the bar. Good selection of beer. Decent menu with really good daily specials - much more interesting than the typical pub fare. Service efficient and friendly.

We stopped in to warm up from the cold and get a little something to eat. The margarita pizza and club sandwich were good. The staff can make a good place a ‘great’ place. Thank you to Lewis and Jack for making our visit great!!

This was THE highlight from our latest weekend in NYC, though I expect YMMV. Went in to watch a Chelsea football match at 10am. Planned to quietly watch the game and have a guiness or two. Two hours later my wife and I were six guiness in and making best friends with the lovely irish barmaid and her regular customers. Had to leave to go see book of mormon, but we both wished we'd stayed. Incredible atmosphere, even better people. Thanks Aileish (sp?) and company!!!!!

Staff were ok, nice, polite but no effort to try and have a conversation or strike up a rapport! Food was ok - buffalo wings were good but by no means the best! The pulled pork sliders were good and I enjoyed them and my husband had the club, again he said was pretty good but for the price, was slightly disappointed with the portion sizes! But overall an ok sports bar!

Downstairs is a haven for British and European Football fans. Loads of screens showing all matches LIVE! Great, friendly atmosphere with devotees from around the world. A decent pint of Guinness and some good comfort food. A must visit for all "footy" fans especially on match days.
sports bar
One of the best places for watching EPL in NYC. Lots of big screens over 3 floors and a wide choice of beer on tap, also serves decent pub food.
