Amazing Food on Lexington Avenue!

By Sandra L |

You can choose to sit inside or outside on the covered patio area which is nice. I will not go into great detail on how awesome the food is here but I promise you will not be disappointed in the pizza or any dish you choose off the menu. The Margherita pizza is out-of-this-world and that says a lot when such a few simple ingredients can evoke such pleasure. And...they do a major amount of business as take-out!!

Hidden Gem

By Neil H |

This place isn't near the madness of midtown, or the alternative end of downtown, but instead hidden up in the 100s. The food is always good, the staff are excellent, and its what keeps us coming back for more.

Perfection!! Everyone should go!

By beluna |

Every single dish we ate was beautifully prepared. The best ingredients, and to that one person who gave it 1 star, you have no idea what good food is,you are upset that they don't have Cesare salad? You can get that in a Diner! What they are doing is real authentic Italian food, and in my opinion, are way too cheap for their quality

Great neighborhood restaurant

By Jeff T |

What looks like just another NYC pizza place from the outside turns out to be a really good neighborhood restaurant. I have been there several times and can highly recommend their various pastas. Especially the homemade ones.

ANOTHER great meal... and now Harlem Baking Co

By Chris D |

We had another great dinner at our favorite local place. As always, half a dozen creative, original specials which included different dishes which tasty ways to use burrata, branzino, duck and home made pasta. And we also got a preview of the owner’s new dessert line, Harlem Baking Co. We tried the Tiramisu and Cheesecake. Delicious!!

Excellent freshly cooked Italian food

By Graham7 |

Visited on our first evening in NY on a trip from the UK. Friendly and attentive service. Salad was fresh and tasty. We shared an 18" pizza which was freshly cooked in their oven. Only problem was a long wait for the pizza and luckily we were not in a hurry.

What a transformation

By Red_Bear_23 |

When visiting New York in 2012 this place was a run down corner pizza shop. On our recent return it has new owners and been renovated. The food is amazing and the staff are run off their feet giving everyone great service. Very reasonably priced menu to choose from

A real neighborhood gem

By Herman G |

We have been going to LPP for years and are always impressed by the superbe food and service. A very nice casual small restaurant in a cool upcoming area. The choice of wine is great and very affordable. Apart from very good pizza there is a large menu of italian delicious foods , all well prepared and tasty. Topped by great desserts. Will for sure be back as its consistently good.

Excellent italian

By Herman G |

A total neighborhood gem with incredible food, wine and service. We have been there many times and are always impressed at the preparation , taste and quality of this very refined italian cuisine. Whatever we order is fresh , well prepared and tastes delicious. Pizza, pasta, meat or fish all prepared with a northern italian twist. Great selection of very affordable wines. All topped of by the super friendly and welcoming owner. Will be back for sure.

Great food, great value

By Bill R |

Came recommended by our innkeepers at Bubba and Bean Lodge. Food and service was great. Had a great calzone and my wife had a Panini. At the suggestion of our host we had the cheesecake which was amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool urban landscape. Will certainly return.

Great Pizza, Subpar Service

By Krista A |

My daughter and I each had a slice from different kinds of pizza. We were both very happy with the taste and the size. I’m giving 4 stars based solely on that. For some reason, however, someone directed my daughter to sit at one of the only 2 tables with no silverware or napkins while I added a drink to my order (all of the other tables were set). There were no napkins to be found anywhere else and the pizza was quite messy. For some reason I felt like an outcast, not sure why. The staff can work a little on improving interactions. We were visiting from out of town, maybe there were procedures we were unaware of that they could have explained to us...I don’t know, it just seemed odd and I was a little uncomfortable.

A hidden gem and worth a trip Uptown to get there

By Mo W |

What a little jewel. I went here 2 weeks ago with my sister-in-law and was so impressed with the quality of food and service, that I went back 2 nights later and brought my husband. He is as smitten as I am. Not only do they make fabulous individual pizzas, but their main dishes are outstanding. The place is small but the choices are amazing. Beef short ribs were some of the best we have ever eaten, and the pasta choices totally amazing. A terrific and reasonably priced wine list and the ice cold Peroni draft beer was just the bomb. I can't wait to go back. My go to place now when we have out of town visitors.

Go for a slice!

By Hannah W |

This was our first slice of New York pizza and we weren't disappointed. What can I say, it was simple, tasty, perfectly cooked and we always wanted more.

Amazing place

By Heather I |

We recently had a lunch and a take out delivered (separate days honestly) the food is gorgeous and so obviously created as ordered with fresh ingredients the staff are attentive and friendly so if your want a super tasty brunch, lunch dinner or take out give this place a try, I and my family can personally guarantee you won't be disappointed. Worth booking its a little compact.

Fantastic Roman food

By LadiesVoices |

Don’t be fooled by the name: this is not a dollar slice pizza joint! This is an authentic Roman restaurant. Fried artichokes and real carbonara, not creamy like you often see over here, but a dense, incomparably delicious sauce. Our server was Charles. He was perfect.

Really good Italian

By Nalini A |

Only went in because it was across the road from where we were staying but food turned out to be excellent. The pasta was just right and the pizza was much above usual pizza standard. We also had a green salad which was fresh and had a really nice dressing but wasn't over-dressed. There was plenty of everything too. Service was nice - best we had in NY, which, in all the other places we ate was sadly very lacking. Only criticism was tables too close together for anything romantic.

Magnificent Misnomer

By Henry H |

Don't be mislead by the name. Although this little gem serves excellent pizza, there is much more going on here. This is not your red sauce pizzeria. The cooking is subtle and inventive and the presentation and service are of a very high order. An appetizer of mussels and clams with toasted peasant bread came in a fabulous broth - mildly spiced and rich in flavor. The Roman artichoke appetizer was delicious as well. Among four diners we had a pizza, veal milanese, a wonderfully prepared whole fish, and a chicken special. All were wonderful. A large slice of homemade cheesecake, which served all four of us with a forkful left over, was off-the-charts terrific. It managed to be creamy and light at the same time, and sweet without being cloying. Although masquerading as Italian cheesecake, it clearly reflected the owner's French roots. The restaurant is tiny but table spacing is generous, and the room is bright, airy, inviting, and spotless. The feel is that of a bistro on a side street in Montmartre - again the French influence. Provalo, ti piacerà.

Great - but tucked away

By Claire S |

We stopped here after a visit to the NYC museum (worth a visit) - found it purely because it was closest on google maps. BUT, what a find. Great service, amazing value and just delicious food.

Unexpected surprise

By B W |

Local place. Sort of out of the way for tourists but if you are in the upper East Side, this is a very good local restaurant. Much more than just good pizza. The Italian food is really tasty. The pastas, chicken and drinks were very well prepared. We ate outside so the kids could burn off some steam. There were 16 of us and we just ordered one of each. The service was top notch. Not a very large place inside. They do a very nice to go business. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Scrumptious

By Dianne N |

We were staying a couple of doors away from the Pizza Parlour and happened to go there because it was convenient. What a find and it was not the only time we bought our meals there. Fantastic service and food. It was so delicious not just the pizzas but the pasta dishes too and the prices were very reasonable. We certainly got hooked on pizza while in New York especially with this place just next door. Highly recommend.

Not Just Pizza

By Kat H |

This little spot is so much better than anything down in Little Italy. The service is great and the food is too of the line. You can either sit in or take out and as you wait for you food, you can see the chef prepare your entree. Everything so super fresh. The pasta is homemade and amazing. Their sandwiches are on point. I've actually never just got pizza!

Fantastic Restaurant in this Cool Neighborhood

By Chris D |

This is an excellent meal each and every time we go - they always have a bunch of original specials, using a variety of interesting meats and fishes. They always do something special with Burrata. and their desserts are fabulous. Besides the food, the vibe of the place is warm and personal. Even though it serves a fantastic full Italian menu, it has kept some of the original vibe of a Pizzeria which makes it feel like a local hang out. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel like you eating in their home. and this neighborhood on Lexington above 96th is one of the hippest neighborhoods in Manhattan - it feels like the East Village in the 1980s and 90s.

Very solid

By spinal73 |

Ordered here tons of times Pizzas great pastas excellent I've also had the calzones and the paninis and can recommend both Usually not a long delivery time

Misleading name for a really good restaurant

By PSGumby |

If you need to go to Mt. Sinai Hospital, it is worth making a detour to eat lunch or dinner at this very good restaurant. What a great surprise! This ain't no pizza joint. Although they sell pizza, it is a really, really good Italian restaurant. The menu is not huge, but it offers plenty of delicious choices. The Roman artichokes, which are not served by many restaurants, are sensational. They are served with ricotta cheese, black truffles and a balsamic reduction. Pastas can be served with your choice of pasta and the sauces are fresh and delicious; order the pesto to see what a good pesto tastes like. Desserts are excellent. Service is friendly and very accommodating. If you are in the neighborhood, it is a must.

Butter in Aglio, Olio, Peperoncino

By Sascia71 |

I am lactose intolerant, so I ordered Spaghetti with Aglio, Olio, Peperoncino, one of the most plain dishes you can find. They put butter in it, but I only realize that after I eat half of it, as it was more visible at the bottom of the plate. The taste was off but could not be sure what was going on. I was hungry and I thought it would be impossible there was butter in those spaghetti! I then gave up and asked what they put as ingredients as I could taste and see butter. They confirmed, and said that is how they like to prepare that dish... And they did not write it on the menu! You only find out if you ask! They told me I should have said I was lactose intolerant! But why should I say that if I order a plain dish? Should I tell bartenders when ordering a beer to not put milk in it??? If you want to be fancy and change the recipes, you should say and write in the menu! I will not go back...

Palatable but pricey

By Tara G |

Food is decent but highly overpriced even for NYC. Portions are small. Got penne a la vodka... and it arrived almost like a child’s portion. The meatballs are actually good but again, pricey and very small. As long as you don’t care about money then this could be a good place for you. Otherwise, many other places with similar taste and quality that offer a better value

Don’t miss this

By Monty002 |

If you’re in the Upper East Side you should not miss this place...a bustling Italian restaurant with great pizza. We were there on a warm night. The doors and windows on two sides were open and the outdoor tables were busy. We ordered pasta, their oven baked fish special, and pizza. All excellent, tasty and well prepared. Service is unmatched and fun to watch. The manager digs in and helps with dishes while directing traffic. Waiters hustle and smile. The guy behind the cash register reminded us of Kramer in Seinfeld. We loved this place.

Nice staff but not very good food

By silviafrancescut |

I am Italian and I have been to this place by chance. I took a pizza and it was not very tasteful. I was expecting more for a place which claims to be Italian. The staff was very nice though. I am giving 2 stars instead of one just because of Adonai, fhe waiter: very gentle and nice guy!

No Caesar salad

By Honest_1Reviews |

New owners and the food is not great . They don't even carry Caesar salad. What Italian restaurant does not carry it. They are trying to change the image of Harlem and that won't work. I fell bad for there vision.

We went back for seconds - and we were only in NYC for a week

By Andrew M |

This one is a little gem which happened to be next to where we were staying. Had a really nice salmon rissotto on the first night which was just on the money. We we back a few nights later for take away spag bol and lasange - both good. Larry is a good guy and his team are really nice. Good casual dining at good prices.

Nice sidewalk pizza

By Aggielu |

We arrived late and they were very nice. Very enjoyable location and the pizza was very good. Would definitely return.

Great neighborhood pizza joint...

By terrapinproud |

Good food, good service, great prices, on a corner in a REAL neighborhood. Tables even open to the street. What's not to like...

This ain't no pizza joint

By PSGumby |

I love this restaurant. The Italian food is not just good, it is superb. Who would have ever thought that a small pizza Parlour on 101st and Lexington could become a destination restaurant. First, let's deal with the space. It looks like your neighborhood slice joint. But it isn't at all like that. The second you sit down and look at the excellent and creative menu, you will forget that you can also get a slice here (makes a good appetizer). The service is smart and helpful, lead by its wonderful owner, Charles DeVigne. He exudes the love of his food, his staff and his place. The food is absolutely wonderful. It is also highly creative. Last night his specials included garlic and salt shrimp, an artichoke mousse and great burrata. Veal piccata was perfect and came with an ample side of spaghetti with garlic and oil; someone who had the lamb shank said it was the best she had ever had. Pastas are creative. The pesto was perfect. Desserts are made on premises, I am not a fan of Tiramisu, but this is the best I have had. And by the way, he has fabulous wines. There are certainly fancier Italian restaurants in this city. And there are many in far more accessible locations, but Lexington Pizza Parlour is worth a taxi ride (or a subway).

Incredible

By Herman G |

Friends took us there and what a gem. Small place with excellent service and an incredible food and wine selection. From the pizza to pasta to salads all delicious. Great wines at good prices. Tasty authentic Italian and will for sure be back!

Fantastic Meal & Service

By Leigh M |

Just had dinner with the family at Lexington Pizza Parlour, it is located near where we were staying in NYC. We all had a pasta dish and dessert each and it was fantastic! In particular the Ravioli and Cavatelli, great value for money, we will definitely be back there to eat again. 'Hats off' to the waiter (I didn't get his name), his service was impeccable - I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area.

Amazing food and ambience

By giaff |

We first visited this place in September; it was across the street from our rental apt. We had hesitated because it just looked like a pizza place from outside. But midway through the first meal I told the waiter and the owner that this was as good as the best Italian dining we've had anywhere including Italy. It's a modest small place with tiled floor and a narrow dining area which expands to a small outdoor landing in the summer. Not fancy. But the friendly staff and owner (Antonio) enhance the experience, and the food is absolutely incredible. They have pizza which is great, but also amazing risotto, gnocchi, and pasta. Shortribs - incredible. Lasagna likewise. Desserts also great. What more could you want? Had my birthday there, and everyone had a great time. They've only been there since July. Check it out.

Great food; great service

By Peter H |

My wife and I came for lunch. The rice ball appetizer was exceptional, as was the pizza. The service was fantastic as well. I would absolutely come back.

Really good!

By vikingdoug |

After visiting the Museum of the City of New York, we were looking for a quick bite and wandered into Lexington Pizza Parlor. What a great find! We had pizza, bruschetta, and meatballs. All very flavorful, and the service was very good! Wish I had a place like this back home.

Fab fab fab pizza

By Kevin J |

We were staying 3 doors down from this place on our trip to NY so after a long day in the city we decided to get a take away pizza and go back to our room. What a great decision. Shared an 18" pepperoni which was gorgeous, tasty with a bit of a kick. Whilst waiting for our order, this place was pretty busy inside and also does take away, there were about 4 chef's and the food served whilst we were waiting looked delicious Definitely recommend this place

Fantastic Food!!

By jlkkshic |

We have eaten here a few times while in the area, and each time we have had a wonderful meal! Pizza and delicious sandwiches were what we had. They offer many different pizzas, or design your own. Their paninis and grinders are fresh, plentiful and delicious, and come with a side of mixed greens! There is no way you can pass by and smell the aroma, and not stop in. It is a tiny place with limited seating, but if you are not taking it to go, wait for a table. It is well worth it! The cannolis are fresh and oh so yummy too!!

Beautiful afternoon in the sunshine

By LorraineNotaro |

I had such a lovely afternoon here. The pizza was delicious, cooked to perfection. Andrea was the most attentive waitress too which really made my time here a truly memorable one. I’m a flight attendant visiting from London and have been flying here for over twenty years now. This is now my favourite Italian restaurant in NYC. I’ll be back! Thank you to all the staff! xxx

Great specials and BYOB wine.

By Companion63136043489 |

Yummy food, especially the Ravioli with brown butter and fresh sage. Not much to dislike because it was two doors down from where we stayed.

Very pleasant Saturday afternoon pizza and beer

By Empire Rent A Car |

All I can say is excellent food and variety What they accomplish in such a small cozy place. The service was top notch and friendly staff. My only regret is I don’t live nearby but lucky for the Harlem residents. Oh forgot to mention try the Harlem baking company desserts my wife and kids loved them.

What a surprise

By Dan D |

a tasty Italian restaurant with dishes which would match any popular Italian restaurants in the world. All ingredients are fresh, especially the seafood. The pizza is the best I have tasted in New York. The quality of food and variety far surpass how the restaurant look from the outside or location. By far, this restaurant is the tastiest and value for money Italian restaurant in New York.

Great pizza

By mirocat |

Hired an apartment in NYC East Side lower Harlem and came across this restaurant . The waiting staff were really friendly and we could choose our table. It seemed to be filled with locals as the waiting staff greeted some of the diners by their first name. The wine was reasonably priced and I opted for a bottle of Pino Nero which was juicy. The pizza funghi and pizza margarita were large, loaded with toppings and freshly baked. The espresso was also very good There are tables outside and a few people were only having coffee. The decor is clean, simple and stylish. After 6.30 you can buy slices at $2.50. Overall a nice local find and I will be back before the end of my holiday.

I found the perfect Pizza Parlour

By RIVI49 |

What a find! Great 12" brick oven pizza done to perfection. A zesty Margarita and a very tasty veggie pie for 3 people hit the spot. Homemade tiramisu as good as any 5 star place and cannolis to die for. Cozy space, friendly staff with Louis Armstrong and Sinatra music create the perfect Pizza Parlour.

Great local Italian restaurant

By ralphwilliamson |

At the end of a week in the city with our family, we chanced on this great little restaurant. The food was excellent and the the welcome really friendly and helpful. We had pasta, pizza and meat mains, good wine and desert, and it was very good value in this expensive city. Highly recommended.

Great food, fun staff

By Ksiaz |

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Four of us each had a different entrée, from pizza to sea bass to manicotti to pasta with braised beef sauce, none of us were disappointed. There was a good wine selection, reasonable prices. We shared an order of Tiramisu and NY Cheesecake, both were very tasty and we enjoyed every last crumb! Our waiter was very engaging and very chatty despite being very busy. Kind of off the beaten path unless you live or are staying in the neighborhood, definitely worth trying out....YUMMO!

Good pizza, but expensive

By Let's make Astoria's restaurants better! |

I walked down here last week. I ordered a cheese and mushroom slice and soft drink. The pies are crusty, but I only wanted a slice to go. Would I be back soon. Yes, they are worth a second look.

Decent Italian food located near northern end of Museum Mile

By christopherbO9687MP |

Lexington Pizza Parlor provides decent Italian food with both indoor & outdoor seating. It's located on 101st Street & Lexington, which is near the northern end of Manhattan's Museum Mile (the Museum of the City of New York is just a few blocks away). I enjoyed both the eggplant panini and the Key Lime pie I had.

Must have: Tiramisu

By ramrosane |

The food was really good with a wide variety and the service was not too bad. Will definitely be back soon. The tiramisu is a must have!

Average with a poor wine choice

By catoelder |

Went with some friends who raved about this place. Nice amateur-ish staff, food hit-and-miss. Wine choice poor .

went there twice!

By paula c |

Really great food, great service, and convenient. We went twice because I enjoyed the fish dish so much! Great pizza too!

Terrific Italian food and service on UES

By dlsk |

We ate two days in a row at this fabulous gem (once for lunch and once for dinner). Do not be fooled by the restaurant’s name ... it is far more than a pizza parlor, although the pizzas are great, too. We had a variety of pastas and salads and pizzas and all were excellently prepared with fresh ingredients. The prices are very fair for a Manhattan restaurant. And the outdoor seating is welcome in warm weather.

Great food

By mkd_travelmania |

Charming neighborhood spot. Good, simple, hearty and flavorful Italian food. At while at the same time light and tasty. Appetizers: go for eggplant soufflé, the burratta special, the arancini, the meatballs appetizers. Main: go for the homemade pasta (gnocchi in brown butter sage sauce are a must!) The paninis are a great quick fix. the pizza is thin crust and tasty. Great for lunch or dinner. Little kids or just adults. Even good for a very casual date night. They even have good bosanova and old tunes in background playing!

Amazing

By Squawking44 |

We ate here as was close to where we're staying, what can I say, amazing fresh Italian food and homemade cheesecake to die for. Highly recommended

Fantastico

By Andru B |

Staying next door at Bubba &Beane and decided to walk in to Lex Parlour. The food was great, fresh salads and homemade pastas. My wife had cavatelli with a short rib meat sauce. She absolutely loved it. Service was spot on and very affordable. Bravo gentleman. Next time we fly in to NYC, we will coming back Grazie..

Nice place

By Alexandra K |

Good food and a charming service! All fresh and a delicate taste. If we d ever visit NYC again, this would be a place to come back to.

Well it's more than just pizza!

By Marla A |

What a delightful find in the southern part of Harlem! We had a terrific dinner there of Italian food. Granted they have really tasty pizza. But we started wtih a salad of arugula and shaved fennel, the perfect sprinkle of coarsely greated cheese and tangy dressing. For our main course, the grilled salmon was cooked to perfect temperature and rested on a bed of sauteed eggplant and artichokes done in imported olive oil with a hint of balsamic. Don't miss the special desserts from their own Harlem Baking Company. Not being able to decide we had two: pumpkin cheesecake--the perfect blend of a New York favorite with a seasonal twist and tiramisu--light, creamy with blended flavors of espresso and chocolate. Can't wait to go back!

The Name Pleasantly Deceives

By Heinrich P |

The seafood risotto was truly special, the ambiance nice and the owner, surprisingly French rather than Italian, generous, warm and un NY-like friendly. I would come back again and again

nice outdoor eating area off lexington

By aspenoak |

This restaurant is more than just pizza. The pasta is excellent and the eggplant parm is about the best I have ever eaten. The portions are large as well. However, their pizza is also excellent.

Great lunch spot near Mt. Sinai

By needavacation22182 |

Just a few blocks from the doctor's offices at Mt. Sinai. Great pizza with good service. Crust was thin and crispy (they also have thick crust if you like that). Sauce light and fresh. Definitely recommend!

Thin Crust Pizza

By Dara Levine |

We had been looking for a pizza place that delivers to us and heard from someone in our building that Lexington Pizza had great crust! That is all it took for me to try it - and they do!! Have great crusts. Thin with a slight crisp texture and a soft middle. The cheese is fresh and the sauce is delicious. We had 1/2 Margherita and 1/2 Pepperoni and an order of Lasagna Bolognese and both were very good. I have not dined there, but my neighbors have this as their go-to place!

A Pleasant Surprise

By Paul33740 |

Excellent dining experience. I've eaten there several times. You get a very good quality meal for a reasonable price. The Sicilian pizza is very good as is the calzone. I had one of their paninis-also very good. The service is friendly and attentive. I will be back.

Excellent place near Museum mile

By shvarz |

The place is non-pretentious, but with excellent food. Go for the pizza, try other things too. Desserts are OK. Not very expensive. Good service. Highly recommend. Call for reservations.

Surprise in the middle of a neighborhood.

By EvaLady |

Because we read a ton of reviews about this location (we were staying nearby) that we knew of the options not offered in the menu like a whole fish. The server was very knowledgeable. We had a very large party but they made it work for us. It is an open air restaurant. After 6pm they only offer pizza slices to go and not for table service. The pasta options were really good and all the fish options they had we ordered it was extra delish. We ordered several of the desserts to try and hands down the favorite was ice cream dish (the $15 dollar one) it was SUPER yummy! I also liked the lemon filled with ice. Tiramisu was fantastic so was the italian cheesecake. In fact everything we had was great. All the staff were very friendly efficient and made it all the more enjoyable. Cute lil shop too boot. Definitely would come back here if I were in town.

Great service

By rnlnrnt |

My family and I ate here while visiting New York. The food was very good, but it was the service that we found to be supurb. Very enjoyable meal.

A neighborhood gem

By Debra0702lynn |

This little hole in the wall was two doors up from our airBNB. It might be called a pizza parlor but there is very reasonably priced fine dining to be enjoyed here. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Service impeccable. Food Outstanding. No alcohol yet but the wine store in the back is happy to sell you a bottle and you can bring into restaurant and they will cork and pour. Whenever I travel here from now on, I want to be in this neighborhood so I can enjoy the LPP:)

DO NOT GO HERE

By V_0.0 |

I am Italian, I was feeling a bit home sick, so I went to the Italian restaurant down the corner... on one hand I was satisfied: the food was decent, the waiter was educated, it was a nice experience. then I had to pay: terribly overpriced. More over and more important: I give in my credit card and they fill in the line of the tips, choosing by them selves the amount. when I ask information regarding this practice they told me that since I am a foreigner the apply standard 20% tip. 1. that's ILLEGAL 2. That's kind of DISCRIMINATORY 3. They will never see me again ! DO NOT GO THERE !

Best tiramisu around

By Andrea E |

I’ve been here many times and always enjoyed my meals. The caprese, Roman artichokes, and muscles were all wonderful. But I come here specifically for their tiramisu, it’s one of the best in NYC without a doubt!

Pizza at 101 St. and Lexington Ave

By dentdoctraveler |

It's a pretty good pizza parlor that aspires to be something more. Friendly service, this small place serves Italian dishes as well. The menu is straight forward with good starters such as , tuna salad ,artichokes as well as pizza, calazones and other sandwiches. Where they run into trouble is with their specials. We had ravioli stuffed with lambshank. The dough was thick and pasty with a very thin tomatoe sauce and not much stuffing. The seabass was only alright as was the lamb shank. The dishes priced at thirty dollars each were way overpriced for the quality of the cooking. If your close stop in, but don't make a trip to try it. Tip: If you're there in the cold weather sit as far from the door as possible.

MOUNT SINAI COMMUNITY, BEWARE OF LEXINGTON PIZZA PARLOR!!!

By ElleYoung |

Mount Sinai Community and East Harlem, please beware of this pizza parlor and DO NOT support this restaurant because they treat their customers completely unfairly based on their appearances. Their service is completely UNFRIENDLY and DESPICABLE. No establishment should treat patrons like second class citizens based on their appearance. My friends and I did NOT have an enjoyable experience here. As soon as we were walked through the doors, we were not treated seriously as customers. Yes, we are younger than the rest of the patrons there, but all of us are medical and PhD students in our mid-20s that were excited to try the new pizza parlor in our neighborhood and celebrate a few April birthdays! I noticed that we were not offered bread and olive oil like the other customers, were not even given utensils and napkins (seriously, we weren't even given NAPKINS to eat the messy pizza with) like the other customers and were given PAPER disposable plates to eat off of. This happened to us, despite everyone else in the restaurant being supplied with ceramic plates, linen napkins and real cutlery and bread and olive oil. We were also ignored for the evening and had to constantly get up to talk to the waiter (who I suspect was the owner) to take our orders and get our check. I was really upset that we were treated this way, even though we were very respectable customers and were paying just like everyone else in the restaurant was. It was completely uncalled for and despicable behavior on LPP's part. No establishment should treat patrons like second class citizens based on their appearance. I am even more infuriated about this experience because I had just been to Lexington Pizza Parlor the week before with my boyfriend and we had a very enjoyable and pleasant experience with our wonderful waitress, who was NOTHING like our unfriendly waiter this evening. We were given real cutlery, cloth napkins, PLATES and offered bread and olive oil like every other paying customer in the restaurant, unlike this last time. I truly enjoy eating out and trying new restaurants. I'm a food blogger and contributor to Open Table, so you will be sure that I will continue writing about my experience at LPP. I really hope that you will reconsider eating at Lexington Pizza Parlor, especially if you are a young student! It's disgusting how the staff treats customers based on their appearance. DO NOT support Lexington Pizza Parlor!

"From a real New Yorker"

By max135 |

We just moved up to 96 street after living in the 50s. We were exploring the new neighborhood and found Lexington Pizza. What a great find. Great pizza, super fresh food, generous portions and great prices. Bravo

Don't let the name fool upyou

By Smatjean |

Great Italian food in a small cosy neighborhood restaurant with good friendly service. Eclectic group of fellow diners ranging from models to police, businessmen/women to families. Perfect spot on a cold snowy evening after a long day exploring New York.
