I own a top-ranked boutique hotel in Harlem, and I always tell my guests that Lido has the best food in Harlem. Consistently - you can't go wrong. Great service also, it always says something about the management when much of the staff has been there for many years. Whether you're the first person in for lunch, of at a packed Sunday brunch the atmosphere is lively, friendly and beautifully diverse. I personally go at least once a week!

We returned to Lido for the 3rd or 4th time and again had a well-prepared, tasty (though not extraordinary) meal. Service was good but by no mean superlative. Overall, this is a good local place in a nice area area in Harlem but the cost of dinner seems a bit high for what it is, in out opinions and those of the friends who accompanied us.

I had the skillet poached eggs on spinach and roasted potatoes Yummy Hubby had the veal gluten free pasta. All the dishes were tasty Cute decor Noise level ok Place was hopping and the Mimosas flew off the bar!

Brunch at Lido is a good idea. The short rib hash and poached eggs was flavorful although the eggs were a bit overcooked. The walnut cheesecake was excellent. The noise level is a bit high and tables are small and closely spaced, but service is prompt and efficient without being aggressive. Food came out quickly and orders were as requested. I live outside the city now so it is not a neighborhood option, but would certainly go back to Lido and perhaps try it for dinner.

In the days we have been in NYC we wanted to try brunch and we took advantage of visiting some friends in Harlem to try it. Very rich, with friendly treatment and not very expensive. It is a very good option for Sunday brunch but you have to reserve because it gets crowded and the terrace is not very comfortable.

As always, I'm usually out with my friends when I'm trying restaurants. This place has a really good crowd for Sunday brunch. This place is in Harlem and it was a great mix of people. The jam and the bread were nice. The menu wasn't really interesting as I don't like poached eggs or hollandaise. HOWEVER- the spaghetti with the veal meatballs topped with shaved parm is was delicious. Nice sized serving; nothing over filling. Here's a tip: why pay $9 for a glass of wine when the unlimited option is $16? Enjoy!

Lido is an intimate boutique style restaurant. The servings are a unique combination of tastes, creative and delicious. The service was quick and everyone very friendly. Definitely going to return.

We had an early dinner with my wife and son based on his previous experience at Lido. The service was very good and the food tasty, hot and well cooked. My son and I had the Salmon and my wife the skirt steak, The steak was very juicy and tender, normally she does not eat the whole steak but this time she enjoyed it so much that she ate it pretty much all and it was a good sized piece of meat. The Salmon came with cooked spinach with small raisins. Never had it like that before but it tasted good. The salmon portion was ok, my son said that the last time he was there the salmon was a lot bigger.

The food was great!!! I loved the salmon and the butter nut squash food. The pumpkin ravioli my daughter had was also fantastic. The place was welcoming and the staff was great!!!

We were highly recommended and our experience was wonderful .the food was great .Our Waiter could not have been any better .

The food was flavorful, service attentive but not intrusive, & a lovely atmosphere to share our meal together.

Every meal we have had in Lido has been excellent. Our last visit was for brunch and it was delicious tasty food. We truly enjoyed our meals. Don't forget the cocktails. They are pretty good too! Service is very attentive and people are very nice. Do place reservations during peak periods. It does fill up very quickly.

We enjoyed a nice dinner here. It was a short walk from our AirB&B apartment. Had the pasta special for the night, and it was delicious. The white sangria was also yummy!

We booked this restaurant to celebrate Christmas during our stay in NYC: the restaurant is very pleasant, the food is succulent: We had a great time! Special mention for the server who took great care! The only negative point that we will remember would perhaps be the location. The streets around are a bit disreputable and it is not very "safe". But we forget everything when we enter the restaurant!

Harlem is rapidly changing and with a new Whole Foods opening soon and lots of renovation (gentrification) there will be more and more great places to eat. Lido has been a favorite for many years. Close to 8th Ave subway line, Lido is accessible. I've been there for brunch, lunch, and dinner and always found a large variety to choose from and always enjoyed the meal. A few outdoor tables are great during nice weather.

New York is known for its weekend brunches. Lido does it right. The location is right near the B,C subway lines. They have outdoor seating on the east side of the street so you'll be in the shade until about 1:30, which is so nice. The inside is just darling. Whoever decorated the interior did an amazing job. It's so bright and cheerful. I do recommend having a reservation for brunch. I don't know about dinner. The menu is short and sweet with a bunch of variety. They have a great unlimited mimosa deal for $15, but you do have to order an entrée. I had an omelet and my friend had the french toast. The omelets are a good size, not too big and not too small. The french toast isn't something that kids will enjoy. It's not the typical American french toast, but she said it was delicious! If you go for the unlimited mimosas, you'll have a lot of them. The service is so good that they refill your glass so quick. They always came around topping it off with just one sip gone. It's a great deal! I'll definitely be back here to try something new else on the menu. I highly recommend Lido.

Visiting from Indy. Great vibe here, as well as kind caring hosts and great food in Harlem. So glad we picked this spot among many dining choices nearby.

This happened to be my friend's favorite Harlem restaurant -- she is a foodie so I trusted her choice right away. The cocktails on offer were exquisite -- I had La Pera and my friend the Black Ruby. Being vegetarian, my friend ordered the wild mushroom ravioli and loved it. I try to sample arancini whenever they are on offer so I went for the soup of the day (butternut squash) and an order of arancini. While the soup was excellent, the arancini were not -- they were heavy and tasted like pedestrian street fare in Sicily. (The one with the tapenade filling was better than the cheese filled ones.) It was a heavy meal so we shared a refreshing scoop of sorbetto between us. This is definitely a restaurant worth returning to. The service is warm and prompt and the ambience is very relaxed. The prices are really great for the fine dining Italaian fare that they serve.

Delicious Italian fare, great service, friendly atmosphere. This restaurant is a gem. We were here as a party of 4 on a busy Friday evening when the restaurant was at capacity and yet, we were able to have a nice conversation with each other. They offered inside and outside dining. We opted to sit inside (proof of vaccination is required inside). They checked our vaccination cards at the door. Look forward to our next visit!

My co-workers were volunteering at a foodbank around the corner and we came here for lunch. What a find. Awesome Italian food with unique twists, not your standard fare. The atmosphere is very appealing, the prices very reasonable (especially for Manhattan) and the wait staff was awesome. I will be coming back.

Came with family for Labor Day weekend brunch as my daughter lives nearby and it’s always been picked on previous visits. Had nice shaded and socially distanced outdoor seats on the avenue which is closed to thru traffic for the time being. Eggs Florentine panini, tomato and fontina omelet and chicken Caesar salad were all good. Service was attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. Worth it!

Lido is a good Italian restaurant nestled in Central/West Harlem. The avenue of Frederick Douglass Boulevard is lined with restaurants that may have better food, but not a better crowd. I like this place for brunch as it attracts a lively, young crowd with a good bottomless brunch menu. The service and staff are pretty attentive as well.

We googled "top 10 eateries in Harlem" and Lido was #1. So we booked a table for 3, my daughter's birthday. Unbeknownst to me it was "Restaurant Week" and there were multiple reduced priced ($38, I think) pick-and-choose 3 course meals. We started with the Brussels sprouts and then selected the mussels and the mushroom bruschettas...these weren't the most exciting, but really, we could have, and maybe should have stopped there. The mussels were exquisite. Main courses were the duck risotto, chicken milanese, and salmon. The risotto was fantastic as well as the salmon--we were asked how we preferred the salmon grilled, medium rare--and the wine was not expensive and jammy with our food. Our selection of dessert was unfortunately sold out, but the server brought us something with a candle, not memorable. But our tummies were stuffed and we brought half of all the entrees home with us, sang Happy Birthday and cabbed it back. Attila the Hungarian was a spot on, not intrusive server to whom we wish all the best. Nice job, folks!

Went on a Sunday morning with friends while on vacation in NYC. What a great spot! Lively and staff is so friendly and efficient! If you like mimosas...go for bottomless mimosas, dont lie to yourself! Price is right, drink is perfect and your glass will always be full! Poached eggs on potatoes were divine - poached on polenta was incredibly tasty and the egg benedict with the hash potatoes with rib meat unbelievable. Really a great find!

Lido is an Italian gem in Harlem, offering a plethora of seafood and vegan food. With an accessible front of house team, mouthwatering entrees, and upbeat atmosphere, it's the place to be for a memorable night uptown.

Excellent food. I had the lobster ravioli. The server however, was not attentive, zip personality . Would go back .

I was here for my good friend's wedding reception and the wait staff took amazing care of me and my whole table. With my nut allergy, and other food situations at our table, we had a lot of things that could go wrong. But the staff was so caring and went above and beyond to make sure we all got our correct food. Our glasses were never empty, and we were greeted with a smile every time staff helped us. And omg the food. Seriously. IT WAS SO GOOD. I had a mushroom lasagna and it was the tastiest thing I have ever eaten maybe. So! Good!

Lido is one of our faves when in Harlem. The food is very good at a good price and the service is very friendly and efficient. We stated out at the bar which was energetic with many eating. After being seated promptly at out reservation time we ordered the Parmesan fries and brussel sprouts, both great. This was followed by the salmon and the rigatoni. Again, both excellent. Will definitely go back,

This was an excellent find for my first visit to Harlem. My husband and I were staying nearby for a workshop and Our host recommended Lido , along with a few other excellent eateries. I am not normally and red meat eater, but after reading some of the other reviews I decided to try the lamb chops. My husband also chose the same entrée because he knew he would be jealous if he did not! I must say the whole flavor profile was delicious, even though they came out medium instead of medium rare neither of us were willing to send it back because the flavors and squash pilaf were fantastic! We shared an appetizer salad and ordered wine and thoroughly enjoyed an early dinner Sadly there was no room at the bar or we would have stayed in our budget & tried some of the other happy hour appetizers. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Very good food and good variety all make this a great experience. The place is a bit noisy but service was good and we had a good meal.

Pleasant and inviting restaurant with excellent service. Dinner was most enjoyable and Rachel our server was friendly and gracious. Great italian food! We look forward to a return trip.

This was my 3rd time coming. Every time I tried something new but each time ordered warm kale salad. It’s is so good. Code fritters are great and shrimp with roasted cauliflower dish is a perfection. Gnocchi are a yummy option too if you want something more substantial.

Food was mediocre at best. The lamb chops are an image they feature on the websites opening page. It wasn't even listed on the menu. When I asked I was told they did not have it at this time. There was a hair in my water that I did not see until it was in my mouth. Disgusting. Overall, nice people. Bad food.

This is a great addition to the neighbourhood. In fact to Manhattan. We got there on time and the place was jammed, but our table was there and they didn't hit us with any hokey ideas about having a drink at the bar while they got it ready for us. The wine list is short but complete, and is reasonably priced. We had a great bottle of Primitivo and then another. Excellent value and it was made better by the smell of truffle oil which seemed to permeate the place. The appetizers were all good. The crostini is very tasty and was the standout. The salads are well put together but not exceptional. We had three kinds of pasta and they were all excellent, beautifully cooked and large portions. I think the best of them was the lasagna, made in a small skillet with veal, beef and pork layers. It was mostly meat and sauce with a little pasta in between. The highlight was the duck risotto. Lots of duck and it was outstanding in taste, texture and presentation. The deserts were nothing great and I would stick with the gelatti or sorbets which were original and tasty Bottom line is that it is a great place, well worth the trip up town

A family visit of 10 people. Nice service. Ambiance is a “hip I want to be cool vibe”. Unfortunately, the food does not live up to the hype. Octopus salad was bad. It was chewy, not grilled, and smoldered in a gooey sauce. The chicken franchise was tough enough to push aside. The fresh tuna very salad was just ok. It was not seasoned well, but was cooked to order. Not worth another trip if I was not in the area.

Lido has been on my list for a long time. Went for a nice birthday dinner mid-week. The ambiance was great and the waiter was super helpful. I ordered the Spaghettini which I really liked. The sauce was delicious. I would have liked more food in the dish. I still felt hungry after my meal. Other than that, I loved the music and the old Harlem vibes in the restaurant.

I had the poached eggs with roasted potatoes and steamed spinach. Just the right amount of food - a table of all women who cleaned our plates but didn't feel stuffed. The brunch menu also had omelets and pasta dishes. Minus 1 star because I ordered coffee and they never refilled it. But overall a great spot!

It's a bit tight, but then so is NYC real estate. But the food and the service make up for it. We've been coming to Lido since it opened and we will keep coming back.

Fantastic italian food on Restaurant Row (Frederick Douglass from 110-120st). Very reasonably priced compared to a lot of the overpriced restaurants nearby. Try their veal meatballs! Good happy hour at the bar (I think 5-7PM) too!

The food was very good. The service and decor were good. This is a part of NYC in transition. When you arrive the restaurant stands out from nearby shop fronts. Lido is as good as equivalent restaurants in midtown. If you're in Harlem then this is definitely worth trying.

I would describe the entire experience as just so-so. From the food to the drinks to the service to the setting, it was all just ok. I probably wouldn't go back but I've experienced worse.

We hit Lido for a late Saturday afternoon brunch after spending the day at a rugby tournament. Although it was nearing the end of the brunch period, the staff there couldn't be more gracious and had mimosas waiting for us as we sat down. Our waiter, Michael, an actor was nearing the end of a long and busy shift, but he couldn't have been more attentive or friendly. (If you go there, ask to be in his station.) Because it was a beautiful summer day, there was also seating available outside, but with the front doors and windows wide open our inside table gave us a great people watching spot while being able to enjoy the air conditioning. Our party of four split up our orders between lunch and breakfast. My short rib has and poached eggs was outstanding. the hash was sweet with a perfect texture and complimented the eggs perfectly. My wife went the lunch route ordering a salad and mussels. The broth accompanying the mussels was terrific and could have been served as a soup. We even got an order of blueberry pancakes for the table to share. Crispy at the edges, accompanied by pure maple syrup and a fresh berry compote, made this a true indulgence. While we enjoyed our meal, the mimosas kept flowing and we never felt rushed. All in all, great food, wonderful, wonderful service and a neighborhoody vibe that makes one want to become a regular at Lido.

At least mid-day on a Monday, Lido was uncrowded and quiet. A very good place for lunch. The food was excellent and the service was very good as well. The lunch menu featured a number of pasta dishes, a salmon dish, and several salads. Our group of 5 had two pasta dishes, two salads, and one salmon dish. All were excellent. I went here for dinner a couple of years ago, and while it was much buzzier at dinner, it was equally good. Hard to beat.

Superb Service, great food & energy. I would eat here everyday BUT my Cardiologist would kill me. Kidding aside, good portions, flavors & presentation is expected from a seasoned restaurant. 1.7K consistent reviews says plenary about a place. I want more Turkish Coffee Gelato 😁

I enjoyed a generous Florentine bacon Panini for lunch which delightfully came with a salad! Servers were attentive without being intrusive. Our party shared a delicious starter of Salt Cod Fritters, tender yet crispy!

I asked for Salmon and it was great! Also very good dessert (Tiramisu), capuccino was good also. The only thing to improve is that I personally hate when a restaurant offers the small bottle for Coca Cola!

This place was surprisingly chic with the tables well spaced rather than jammed together. The sound baffles on the ceiling made for a lively scene but conversation was easy. Our Mothers Day Brunch is the busiest restaurant day of the year so I anticipated slow service and refills for the mimosas but our waiter Christopher was very attentive, warm and gracious. I ordered the short rib hash, a generous, hearty portion and tasty dish for a big appetite. My daughter had the polenta with truffle oil and mushroom Raghu. That was a delicious comfort dish that I would recommend. We will definitely be returning to Lido for their enjoyable brunch and great service.

Awful, awful experience. During brunch, at 3 pm, noise measured at 100 db on my phone! Absolutely no conversation possible, and waiters should get hazardous duty pay for this noise exposure. So crowded and cramped, waiter splashed tomato sauce all over the back of my blouse. Food OK but the racket, boozy atmosphere and miniscule space make it not worth another visit.

The perfect brunch. First love the truly diverse atmosphere. Such a refreshing change from just about every other sit down I've experienced in NYC. This place checks all the boxes for brunch with friends: great menu and tasty food, awesome ppl watching and atmosphere, bottomless drinks. Not a negative word to say about this place. I'll be back!

This restaurant with a touch of Tuscany sit at the corner of 117th street and Frederick Douglass Blvd not to far from Columbia. The food was interesting and the service fine; good location for a lunch meeting.

First of all they have a British Chef which has an interpretation totally crazy of the food. People there are really weird and personally I did not feel comfortable. Anyway this is just a italo american place, not recommended

I’m sorry but I was not impressed with the menu or food. I’m new to the neighborhood and have been trying different restaurants. This was not a impressive as the ratings. The service was great, attentive and friendly. The greeter was excellent made you feel at home. I guess I expected more. I enjoyed the food but it didn’t send me over the moon!

Always great. Tonight we had spaghetti with meatballs and it was delicious. Ordered takeout and picked it up. Next time we are getting the gnocchi. Everyone says it is amazing (really rich, but amazing).

I can't vouch for any other kind of dining experience at Lido because we are not locals, but it came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint for brunch. The menu is a little limited, and the prices a bit pretentious for incidentals ($4 for a basket of four pieces of bread with butter and homemade jam; also $4 for hot tea), but the omelettes were about $13 and $14 which I suppose is relatively inexpensive for Manhattan, and were decent sized. The atmosphere is a friendly, bar-like, bright space, which could have easily been in Park Slope or Bay Ridge. The service was very attentive, although it was hectic, and it was a very comfortable place for a Sunday brunch, whether couples or larger groups.

The space was energetic and filled with lively crowd. We sat near the bar and had two or three bar flies ocassionaly intrude on the table space as the waitstaff tried to get to their station. However, that was the only table in the place that had the issue and it was a Friday Night! The food was excelent, service was pleasant and informed. We shared several dishes and everything was perfectly done.

The food was ok, ambiance was ok, staff was ok... The whole experience was just, ok. Prices weren't too terrible but a little high for what I felt was really basic food with little to offer. Wouldn't go back deliberately but if I found myself back I might give it another go.

Before visiting Lido, on 3 occasions in the past month people have spontaneously mentioned that Lido is their favorite restaurant in Harlem -- or all together. Well, while not arising to top of my list, everything about it deserves the praise. The service was excellent. The menu has a good variety and each dish we had was delicious. The decor was upscale bistro. A little chilly at the bar near the entrance.

Had a great meal. The atmosphere was perfect, same goes with the staff and their service. If you're looking for some Italian cuisine, better check this out.

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The ambiance of the space and lighting were perfect for a weekend catch up with one of my friends. I'd highly recommend making reservations (during peak hours) as it fills up quickly. Luckily we made it in before the rush and were able to be seated at the bar. There are regular customers who attend this location as well, you could tell by the interactions with the staff. Very customer service friendly. As for the food, I had an arugula salad with warm pear and it was quite a delight and different from other arugula salads I've eaten in the past. I'd return to try some of the other dishes. :)

Booked early and made the trek from SoHo to Harlem on a Friday night. We arrived after 7pm and the restaurant was completely full, with a thriving and buzzing atmosphere. Wine was reasonably priced by New York standards and without going through what everyone ate, it was well prepared, well presented and tasty. Stand out was probably the red snapper: crisp skin and soft meat. Don't forget to try the pudding. Definitely worth making the effort and enjoyed ourselves while we were there.

No wonder everyone had been telling me to come here!!! The food was amazing here. I had the scramble and I absolutely love how fluffy my eggs were. My bestie had the braised short rib and her plate was clean after! The service was on point and the atmosphere was great as we were able to sit outside and people watch. Trust me, you may want to get there early if you have more than 2 ppl in your party or make a reservation ahead of time. Great spot and will be coming back!

Had brunch with some friends here on a Saturday. Food was pretty good. Only complaint is that even with a reservation we still had to wait 20 minutes at which time we were given the option to eat on the patio because the table we were waiting on inside still wasn't available. It would have been nice if were offered a discount or something extra for the inconvenience.

Great to sit outside when the weather is fine. Nice menu with a number of choices. Food was nice. Mostly Italian. Service fine although seemed to have three different people working the section. Desserts seemed very heavy. Nice espresso. Looks like a popular place for late afternoon drinks.

If I was just eating dessert this review would be much higher. Unfortunately we ordered other items. The mixed drinks were good/creative. The octopus appetizer was deeply disappointing. About 5 thin slivers of not grilled octopus like the menu suggested. On top of a mountain of beans. I ordered the squid ink pasta...it had one scallop cut up into 3 chunks...1 shrimp cut up into 2 chunks and some choking hazard chewy squid slices...I see why everyone around me was just drinking. My husbands grilled kale salad had more beans just like the ones from the octopus appetizer dish...but the kale was pretty good. We ordered tiramisu and coffee which salvaged this disappointing meal. It’s too bad, so much potential here! Just say no to chewy seafood!

Food was absolutely fantastic. Had the braised short rib on the waiters recommendation. Also ordered the Gnocchi. Both meals were fantastic. Very vibey place, it was packed but service was decent. Bottomless Mimosa is a must if you drink. Waiter was Alex who was really attentive and Mimosas were topped up regularly by Alex as well as other wait staff. Overall one of the best eating experiences after spending 2 weeks between LA and New York. If we ever visit New York again all the way from South Africa, Lido will definitely be one of our stops. Music was also brilliant and added to the whole experience.

Located sort of behind Morningside Heights park or at least well off 125th street, Lido makes the trip well worth it. Codfish balls brought a nice salty crunch to the appetizers as did roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon clearly blurring the lines betwixt starter and side. Polenta fries, although insubstantial, also made for a solid first round. Salmon arrived nestled on a bed of some mashed bitter vegetable which paired very well with the savory fattiness of the fish. Obligatory signature cocktails offered some good creativity but the somehow the wines by the glass lacked a Chardonnay only a Sancerre / Chard mix which was kind of tepid. Service was spotty even though this presumably didn't count as a rockin' night given some empty tables. The decor in the standard-size dining delighted with good use of white Christmas lights for the holiday season. In short, falls squarely into the category of neighborhood gem.

Overall, I would say this was a good experience . The food was really good, which is what it is about, I suppose. Yummy Pineapple Mojito, delicious Burrata flatbread with currents, and very good pasta. My companion loved the Beet Salad with goat cheese and the Veal Meatballs. The service was warm and attentive. What made this not a perfect evening? First of all, while I appreciate needing to fit as many people in as possible, I cringe at the idea of taking tables meant for 4 and separating them by 4 inches to seat 2 parties of 2. Not only is there little opportunity to have a real conversation, but I was constantly moving my chair one way or anything to let waiters and customers squeeze through. It takes away from the experience. Also, the molten lava cake was barely warmed, so not very molten and not very good. It is meant to have the ice cream melt from the heat. That was definitely not the case. We briefly considered sending it back, but I hate being "that person". It's a pretty costly check average so I want everything to be pretty near to perfect. It wasn't, but overall, I would probably return. And as an added bummer that wasn't their fault, I left behind the bag with my cookie from the bakery across the street. Someone ended up happy with that find!

Only had brunch, but the food and ambiance was great. Great service and nice waiters and host/hostess. Would have given 5 stars, but did not eat any of the Italian food (what it is known for).

I've been there before under a different name. They changed physically the place as well. There is a large bar now to the side. We went on restaurant week and there was an option for $38/p. We opted out of the fixed menu and ordered a la carte as we shared appetizers & dessert. The crostini with golden beets, goat cheese & cod fish fritters were delicious. As main dish we ordered Organic Chicken Milanese. It was very good. Caramel budino finished our meal.

This restaurant appears to be very trendy and popular. It was packed with joyous patrons sitting at the bar and at tables on a Sunday afternoon. I on the other hand am not a fan and will not return. If you are vegan - forget it. Vegetarian- load up on cheese. I asked my waiter to make me an Arugula and kale salad, both vegetables on the menu, and he looked at me as if I had ten heads and said, "not possible " no explanation given. Wow. Arugula and kale so hard to combine for a renowned chef? Really? My friends are meat eaters. But they were not impressed either. No bread offered for the table. Appetizers took forever. Drinks and my seltzer took so long I thought they were coming from down the block. 20 minutes to get seltzer. Really? Our waiter was clueless and again very slow to bring food. Service needs an upgrade. Not my kind of place. But if drinks and a crowd are all you seek at a restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Sit at the bar and make a reservation if you dare want a table.

This place is so bright and inviting I would walk right in without even looking at the menu. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed the mussels which I literally could have licked the dish because the sauce was so incredible. Finished it off with an absolutely mouth watering tiramisu. I cannot wait to come back!

We were a bit afraid since we had no reservation on Mother's Day. However, after a 5 minute wait at the bar, we were seated and quickly served. Staff very friendly, fresh products. Really nice. Would definitely recommend!

The cutest restaurant. Visited recently for Saturday brunch. Bottomless mimosas were fresh and delicious. The service was kind and attentive. And the food was super yummy. Love the atmosphere and vibe of this pace. I will def be back!!

Amazing food with friendly staff and great decor. Neighbourhood vibe. Great place to eat with your best friends.

Arrived with no booking after a bad experience further down the road - simple tasty food and friendly staff - would go back!

Reserve Early. Reserve Often. This Upper West side Italian serves great Italian cuisine and is very popular. Everything we tried was delicious from the salads and appetizers to the mains and the desserts.

Great atmosphere and service. The food was great, it was a really cosy place and the overall ambience made it a relaxing place to spend a couple of hours.

No scene here. No problem isn't to be proved. Just wholesome food that tastes good. No crowd. Caring service. Fake flowers should go.

We took a work group here and had a great lunch with a small but adequate selection of dishes. Lovely people and an attractive room.

This place was recommend by friend and so glad we listened. One of the best place ...very very fresh and friendly atmosphere.

Lido really surprised me. Although we did have to wait for an extended period of time to be seated for brunch, I will excuse that because we were a party of 15. The only negative was that even though it took them a long time to seat us, even though all members of the party were present, the waiter would not allow us to extend the bottomless mimosa past 3:30, even though we were seated 30 minutes past our reservation. The next time, I would insist on speaking to a manager. Aside from that, the atmosphere is very active and lively. Going to this restaurant alone is not an issue. You can eat at the bar but I would recommend getting a table outside where you can people watch without feeling awkward. If you go with friends, especially a large group, have patience. The waitstaff are sufficiently cordial but not overly friendly, like you find in the typical busy NY restaurant. Something else to consider is that the portions are small. Like many Italian restaurants, they hope that you order at least 3 courses, so if you're very hungry be sure to order a side dish or two. Overall the experience was nice. The food arrived in a timely fashion-even for our large party. There was only one mistake with the order. I would recommend this place but because it is small, if you are coming with a large party prepare to wait. Even with that drawback, it is still worth it. Go and enjoy!

Amazing spot for Brunch with friends. Make sure to make reservations and be ready to enjoy some amazing food and spirits. Can be a bit pricy so make note prior to heading over.

Lido is a very comfortable restaurant, with an excellent wait staff. They explain the menu to its fullest potential, and are attentive to your needs without being overbearing. We sat street side in the outdoor section, which was delightful on a breezy evening. Food is classic Italian with a twist. I had a beet based risotto with scallops, and loved it. The waiter told me that it was very defined by the beet flavor, and it was- but I expected it. Loved the restaurant and will return soon!

Lido was a welcome addition to the neighborhood and provides very consistent Italian fare with a lively atmosphere. Make sure to stop in for dinner.

This restaurant will be on the top of my list next time I am in NYC. Loved the ambiance, The food was outstanding! Even got to visit with the couple who own the restaurant. VERY highly recommended.

A friend of ours booked us reservations for a Saturday brunch, and I'm glad she did. When we got there it was packed, but since we had reservations we checked-in. They offer bottomless mimosas with your entree for an additional $16. While they cleared the table, we ordered our first set of mimosas at the bar. They were the perfect blend of orange juice and champagne. Everything on the menu looked great. I highly recommend the short-rib hash for brunch. Our Server, Alex, was great and always made sure our glasses were never dry. A great place to go with friends. I will definitely go there again when I am back in town.

Nice and warm place. Staff nice. I suggest polenta fried wirh dip olive cream. Filet perfect and tender. Mussels lighly spicy and a lot. Big quantity to share. Good music food people. To go again

The Lido is great place to go to for a fun evening. The ambiance is great..great service, .nice decor, lively, young and diverse crowd and good prices. I have been going there since it opened. Food is uneven. The standard dishes are good and there is an occasional surprise like the octopus starter. But there can be horrors as well. Like the seafood risotto yesterday ! It should have been called seafood mush ! A risotto is not easy to cook...so why offer it as a special ? Generous amounts of seafood saved from me from going hungry ! Bottom line ...be very selective, go for easy to cook dishes or salad and have a fun time.

My friends and i went to Lido for brunch. We were staying in Harlem and wanted to brunch somewhere in the neighborhood. It had a really cool vibe the service was super quick. Granted we were there soon as it opened so everyone was fresh. Alex was our server and was awesome. He indulged our foolery and obsession with the bottomless mimosas. They specified a 2 hour and we literally stayed for the 2 hrs with Alex topping us off with a smile everytime we asked and even when we didn't. The food was really good, french toast and crispy bacon what more do you need lol.

My wife and sister were originally planning on the restaurant week menu, but we ended up opting for the daily $10 lunch specials and sandwiches. I had the chicken panini where each ingredient was fresh and well balanced with the others. My wife had the BLT on a brochure which she said was the best BLT she ever had. My sister had the spaghetti arrabiata which had fresh flavors which popped.

We spent a week at Aloft on Frederick Douglass in Harlem in July and wanted to enjoy the neighborhood as much as possible. We arrived late on a Saturday exhausted from our travels and found Lido. It was fantastic! From the greeting at the door to the service to the food.....we found a winner and couldn't have been happier. Although we enjoyed the week exploring Harlem and all its culture, when departing the following Saturday, we decided that Lido brought us into the neighborhood....and it was going to escort us out! We have to return in February 2016, and cannot wait to enjoy another meal or two at Lido. Needless to say, we highly recommend this fabulous eatery!

The four of us, out for our first restaurant meal at a restaurant in over a year (having all been vaccinated), had high expectations. They were dashed within minutes by our server, who was harried and prickly. The delicious drinks or wine helped, but then...the appetizers arrived, and it was on to the races. Our server and/or other waitstaff hovered like bumblebees and made us nervous every time they came near. Not exactly a relaxing dining experience. And the main courses? Very uneven. Pasta dishes ok, not stellar; chicken-under-a-brick was tasteless and boring; the chicken that came with a salad was rubbery and supposed to have been marinated, but tasted bland. The dessert saved the meal since at least was delicious (flourless chocolate cake) but overall, we were very underwhelmed and won't be coming back anytime soon or recommending to friends. Very disappointing.

I know that Harlem's Restaurant Row is booming now. However, Lido was the first and worth a visit. It has been around for yours, and will still be waiting for you after all of the new places inevitably close.

Resto with personality. Italian food elaborated according to a sophisticated american taste. Good service and cocktails. Pork chop is very tender and it is marinated superbly.

The food is above average. I'm more than happy with their food but it just comes across as bit pricey for the small portion they are serving comparing to the rest of NYC.

we when after a gospel visit, the metro stationwas close that sunday and I was starving, so we enter here, I found reviews of the food and had marked this place "just in case". the omelet was superb and the panini was amazing too, also we had the best coffe of all of the time in NYC.

A lovely little local find that we were delighted to discover. Gorgeous Italian food and efficient service. We were lucky to get a fabulous Kiwi waitress who made our night that much more special. Overall, we'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good food and a nice atmosphere.

Went to Lido with my wife for an early dinner before going to a concert at the Apollo Theater which was only a ten minute walk. We just ordered a bunch of appetizers which were all outstanding. Favorites were the roasted butternut squash soup with crispy sage, polenta fries and the mini veal meatballs. Our waitress was very nice and just gave a very pleasant feel to the experience. By 6:00 the restaurant was full, which is surprising for that time.

One can get weary of Italian restaurants. They all offer the same, tired culinary tropes that leave you wishing someone had some imagination. . . Well, here's one with the creative courage to offer the unfamiliar, the slightly off track kind of meals that will titillate your senses. To begin with, it's decidedly northern Italian in every way, and it makes no attempt to pander to pedestrian, over-cheesed expectations. We started with the polenta fries, served with a truffle and olive dip, that danced on the taste buds and really excited us for the next course. Being vegetarians, we did not order the main course but rather a variety of the contorni, and none failed to live up to the delight of the opening salvo. The staff is friendly, patient, warm, welcoming; the space is homey, like a large family kitchen. The taste, the smell, the ambience reminded me of long ago days in my Genovese Nonna's kitchen.

It is a place with good Italian food for a decent price. I ordered the Gnocci and it was very good, the service is also good. It is a bit far if you are a tourist (like me) but if you live close by it is very recommendable.

We ate there a few times and we are always very happy about it.They serve a lovely italian food.My favorite the meat balls....I can eat thousands of them. The service is very attentive also if the place is always very busy.To recommend

The food was good but what makes this place great are the bottomless mimosas, the staff, and it's closeness to Central Park! Love this place! They're famous for their brunch and mimosas which are usually served on the weekends.

Lido continues to offer great meals In Harlem. Was there for dinner on a Friday night. It was crowded but service was attentive and we were not rushed. Started with calamari which was good. Main course was spaghetti with veal meatballs. Delicious! The side of carrots was very tasty as well. Did not have room for dessert. Overall a great meal!

We stumbled across this restaurant while walking around and loved it so much, we ate there two nights in a row. The gnocchi was outstanding as were the appetizers. If you are a sangria fan, you will love their concoction. A decent Italian red wine was moderately priced. Shine, the flamboyant bartender was attentive and kept us laughing. The large bar is conducive to eating dinner at the bar.

Spectacular fixed menu for New Years Eve. Wine selection and service were excellent. Party of 8, all very happy

We had a nice dinner and a great evening out! We followed the chef's recommendation, which we didn't regret. They have a nice wine list with good Italian wines (a bit pricy for European standards). The restaurant's location is great if you want to escape the touristic area's of NYC.

I was juggling 4 different groups of people coming in from all over the world and my reservation changed several times. They were delightfully accommodating and never made me feel a burden. They gave us a large out of the way booth which was perfect to get caught up and not deal with the noise from the rest of the dining room. When I made the initial reservation they explained that they had another group coming in at 8 for the same booth so we had use of the booth until 7:45pm. I appreciated knowing the time restraints and it was no issue at all. We had a nice leisurely meal and were out well ahead of schedule. The food was excellent and the service quite good. Some of my friends wanted to split plates and it wasn't an issue at all.

We had a friends bruch on a summer Sunday. The service was lovely and quick. The food waa Divine! The Atmos was great.

Go to this restaurant and get the squid ink linguine...you won't regret it! We arrived at our AirBNB in Harlem and found this restaurant nearby. The good reviews did not lie. Not only was the covered patio comfortable, but the staff was inviting and helpful. We all enjoyed our entrees and dessert at a leisurely pace. It's not often one finds a gem like this unexpectedly and it's a joy when it happens!

Delicious food for a good price. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. I recommend either the French toast (French baguette) or the blueberry buttermilk pancakes!

I requested that my dinner order from Lido be brought to the Aloft Harlem as I had a long work and travel day and preferred to dine in for the evening. I ordered arugula and pear salad, and mushroom ravioli, and within a quick 25 minutes I received a call from the front desk alerting me to pick up my meal. The salad was chilled and the pasta was hot having been delivered in durable covered food containers. Both selections were absolutely fresh, delicious and enjoyable. A good meal can quickly reduce one’s stress from a highly productive and eventful day. Lido’s restaurant was a good choice which I would highly recommend when seeking a meal option in Harlem.

We had a nice brunch. It was early, so not too noisy, but by the time we left, it was noisy. Our waiter was very attentive and we enjoyed our food.

Joined friends for a summer evening of sidewalk dining at Lido. Short but satisfying wine list started us off well. Amazing starters; Bruchetta with heirloom tomatoes, Burrata and currants or alternatively ricotta, fava beans and mint. My wife enjoyed the gnocchi. I had some of the best lamb chops ever with a side of farro and a reappearance of the fava beans. House made Tiramisu finished a splendid meal. Ambience of a neighborhood restaurant with superb food and service. Highly recommended.

We had a really nice brunch here on New Year's Day. The homemade bread and jam was delicious! Good atmosphere and friendly service.

One can often tell if the food is good when walking into a restaurant by its vibe. When we entered Lido, it was a good vibe. And the food lived up to the vibe. So did the service. Wonderful Italian food served in a congenial atmosphere accompanied by a nice bottle of chianti made for a great visit, which we repeated a few days later. Lido is a place not to be missed when in Harlem!

I love this place! The food is great, the staff is pretty friendly and the area is nice. I've tried half the items on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet. My favorite dish is the spaghetti w/ veal meatballs; YUM! During the summer, they have outdoor seating, which is enjoyable.. when it's not scorching hot outside that is. Definitely a place to try if you've never been here.

When I lived in NYC, I went to Lido nearly every weekend for brunch. When I moved to Nashville, Lido's brunch became THE spot for my friends and I to get together for every trip back to the city. It's not just the food - which is excellent - and it's not just the unlimited mimosas - which are poured with exactly the right ratio of orange juice to bubbly - and it's not just the service - which has been courteous and generous every single time I've been. It's the combination of all three, tied together with the atmosphere that trio creates. The food is superb, from the white polenta with poached eggs and mushroom ragout to the braised short ribs to the veal spaghetti and meatballs to even the grilled bread and the side of bacon. I mean, bacon is good in pretty much can't form, but they seem to have the good stuff for real. I have never had anything I didn't like, food-wise. And I already told you about the mimosas. And the service. So here's your bottom line: if you're visiting NYC chances are you might make your way to Harlem. And odds are also safe that you might have brunch. This is the place to go. Period.

I have been to Lido around 10 times over the last year and have never had a bad meal. The pasta is great and classic Italian food is really good here. They offer some interesting salads and appetizers as well. The service is professional. It's wise to book as it usually busy.,

Tonight was my first experience at Lido, but I will give it another try because my two dinner partners thought their meals were fine. The first had an appetizer of Grilled Octopus, Cannellini Beans, Shallots, Tomato Passata, Lemon, Fresh Oregano, $14, but the octopus could have been more tender. He really enjoyed his entree of Gluten-free Spaghettini Arrabiata, Parmesan,$18. The second began with Caesar Salad, Pulled Tuscan Croutons and Shaved Parmesan, $12. His entree was Fresh Black Squid Ink Linguine, Scallops, Shrimp, Calamari, in Tomato Sauce with Chilies, Garlic and Orange Zest, $26. I had a salad of Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Smoked Bacon and Organic Ricotta, $13. It tasted greasy rather than roasted. My entree was wild Mushroom Lasagna with Shiitake, Porcini, Sauteed Spinach with Lemon and Garlic, Sage Pesto, $20. It wasn't flavorful. Still, I will give Lido another chance.

We enjoyed a nice brunch at Lido - arriving at 10:30 and having the place pretty much to ourselves. By the time our food arrived, every table was packed and there were at least ten people waiting to be seated. That's a very good sign in an area of Harlem that had many, many choices! The service is very nice, my Sort Rib Hash Benedict was okay - the English muffins were too soggy when it was served which surprised me. Otherwise the food enjoyed by our party was very, very good.

Good food, friendly staff. We went 2 nights for dinner the dishes offered are excellent. For my part I ate steak and orange duck. The steak was tender and accompanied by potatoes and a succulent sauce. The orange duck with a celery puree accompanied by a reduction of blood orange juice a little dry but excellent.

Nice atmosphere, great food, great service and the best white sangria I have ever had! You won't be disappointed with this choice!

Met some people here & the drinks were fantastic. I had the Spaghetti & Veal Meatballs & it was fantastic! Brunch prices were very affordable & I will definitely be going again.

Had a delightful meal here. Not a full classical Italian menu, but very good. Nice seafood dishes and some wonderful veal meatballs.

Had a great three course meal with a terrific cocktail. The menu was part of restaurant week. The heirloom tomato with nectarine and mozzarella salad was refreshing. Had a ravioli with eggplant that is not on the regular menu. It was divine. Had a cocktail called Floozie on the Rocks that was so good I ordered two. It made me live up to it's name!

Sunday brunch was best I've had in a very long time. Space is beautiful with lots of daylight. Service was exceptional - attentive but not intrusive and everyone was very friendly. French toast, omelets and smoked salmon eggs Benedict were all great, but best was braised short rib hash - wonderful. Will definitely return next time I'm in the city.

As southern Harlem becomes gentrified, many good restaurants are opening. We had an evening show at Columbia's Miller Theater - but there are absolutely no decent restaurants in that neighborhood, so we took the B to 116th St and later taxied up the hill to Columbia and fortunately chanced upon Lido. Superb Nouveau Italian cuisine. We started with mushroom soup – the daily special; so it’s not on the menu – fresh earth flavors tempered with a dollop of cream. Then fried calamari – tender with delicate flavors complemented by the aioli dip. Tangy Spaghetti Arrabiatta with a bite followed (not my favorite) and completed by a 3 x 3 x 2 inch block of glazed moist short rib. The atmosphere Tuscan Casual and the wait staff superb – they worked as a team, the first available took care of us so we needn’t wait for service. We will return to try other dishes.

Great place for sidewalk lunch in the shade. Nice people service quick enough, no hassle. Food is average nothing great. Rosé san guiseppi insipid as was after lunch coffee. Spaghetti and meatballs for 19$ not worth it. Chicken panini ok. But in the end you are helping the neighborhood attain aspirational gleam and the feelgood factor resides there. Most people don't realize that this address was a danger zone 20 years ago. Well done transformation. Now that that has been achieved; revamp wine list, elaborate better dishes and surprise clients with great food!

Enjoyed a celebration dinner after the NYC marathon. We had reservations and the table was ready for us upon arrival. Wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. Ambiance of resturant was very pleasant. Food was tasty. The vegetables used as a bed for my fish were a bit overcooked. But in fairness it was the type of vegetables--zucchini and yellow squash. Salad was fresh and good. The crab cake ordered by one in our party got rave reviews.

Special night out noted on reservation as a birthday dinner for 4. Sever did not present himself and welcome us; we had to repeatedly flag him down to order. So he came and took the two mens' drink orders and departed, ignoring the women. Then charged each an unstated $3 surcharge because he had asked what brand of liquor each wanted. For $16 (before added charge) you get some sort of house liquor?? I ordered garlic bread to go with my entree of an appetizer crab cake. The bread was served as an appetizer and consisted of THREE maybe three-inch long narrow pieces. Not even four, knowing we were four. Had to divide these absurdly minescule pieces, and at a shocking price of $12. Likewise the crab cake was a single maybe three-inch disk, $20. So unfulfilled that I ordered a side of mashed potatoes, slathered with rich cheese but again smaller than expected, a shallow disk of potatoes about seven inches in diameter. A three-inch square of bread pudding, $12. (They have standardized servings to three inches?) Upon payment, no thank you or farewell. This place appears to present itself as if a nice neighborhood restaurant in Harlem, and has a gracious hostess up front, but that spirit ends there. They are pricing itself as if fine dining in midtown or downtown. They are mistaken if they think that these practices will encourage repeat visits by locals or visitors Felt financially singed, that is, scammed.

Our graduation party had a little mix up as to the restaurant thinking we we coming a day later, but they hustled well to get 15 people seated quickly. The portions were strange: off the $10 menu you could get a full burger with a side salad or a small pizza tarte. I would suggest that the same side salad (really a quick garnish on the same plate) would be ideal with the tarte as well. The flavors were good, but there was that moment of how is this worth $10. I wanted to try it because of the local cheese on top. The flavors were lovely though, the restaurant is bright and airy, and the service was excellent.

This was my first visit to Lido Italian restaurant in Harlem. The food was excellent and the service was superb! Our server was very attentive and anticipated every need. I've recommended this restaurant to other friends who have since eaten there and were as pleased as I.

Lido Harlem is a great spot for Italian favorites. Great wine, tasty appetizers (try the parmesan polenta fires), and a nice variety of main dishes. I had the spaghetti with roasted veal meatballs and it was superb. The meatballs were flavorful, the sauce was light with just a touch of bite to it and the pasta itself was the very definition of al dente. Service was good; atmosphere nice; prices reasonable ... for NYC.

We ate at Lido Harlem following a 2 hour walking tour of Harlem through Taste of Harlem with scholar John Reddick (see review). We had a fabulous meal here! Very fresh and creative cuisine with terrific flavor combinations. Our group of six shared everything so we got to taste a lot of different dishes. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, service was great, and we were able to easily converse despite the restaurant being rather full. An excellent choice all around!

We went expecting a fairly laid back Italian, but instead found a buzzy and lively atmosphere. Food, service, drinks etc were all very good and a fair price for New York. If this place was in Midtown it would be 20% dearer for sure. Go.

Recommended by the guide, we specially went north from midtown to try this restaurant. It was simply delicious. Also the staff and service was professional. Yep, a clear recommendation from us

By far this is the worst excuse for Italian food it's not indicative of any Italian restaurant if you ever been to Italy or even eating Italian frozen food The staff is lacking inebriate yourself before you eat so you don't pay attention to how bad the food is .

My wife and I have been eating dinner frequently at Lido virtually since the day it opened some years ago. Every meal meets a high standard of deliciousness, and the menu changes seasonally so customers like us don't get bored. The staff is both most congenial and highly skilled. During the pandemic, Lido has become an outdoor restaurant with very comfortable and well-distanced seating in specially constructed and well-ventilated terraces. Recently well-spaced inside tables have become available. This is our home away from home.

Recently, my husband, sister and I ate dinner at Lido's. We three were raised Italian American -- we know good Italian food! Lido's did not disappoint. The restaurant is nicely done, the staff are friendly and professional and the food is delicious. My smoked kale/white Tuscan bean salad and veal meatballs were really good. Give it a try. You will be pleased.

great burger, inexpensive and delicious. Nice room, elegant low key, nice old black and white photos, greg vibe.

This is a very good, very popular and quite buzzy restaurant at 117th and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, very close to the B and C trains at 116th Street and close to Columbia University. The room is very pleasant, the crowd is a very nice mix of locals, families and visitors to the neighborhood, the wine list is limited but pretty good, the food is very good and the service is really excellent. A little pricey, but other than that, what's not to like? A real plus for this neighborhood. Worth the trip.

Nice selection of creative dishes. Salmon was moist and flavorful; scallops likewise delicious, served on a bed of red beets. Reasonably priced, good service. Definitely a good stop.

Overall an incredible dining experience. The drinks, appetizers, and food was delicious. I would suggest the polenta fries and the gnocchi!

Lido is one of those special restaurants you want to make your own but out of fairness to them and to the world I have to tell others about it. Lido far surpasses the upper west side restaurants that are on Broadway. Taking the walk over to Frederick Douglas Blvd. is definitely worth the time and effort. The food is elegant and the service is great. If you go at the right time, you will get to meet the owner and the executive chef. They make you feel very important...and like a good friend. Nice combination. So far, I have eaten at Lido 5 times in the last 2 months. My goal now is to try every item on the menu. Also, it is important to mention that the prices are very reasonable and the neighborhood is cool. Lots of coffee shops, bars and other restaurants. But, I think that the Lido is the best of all of them.

This was my first time eating here and I must say that I will be visiting again. The food, ambiance and service was great. I had the blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and biscuit with honey butter. Since I don't drink my friends enjoyed the limitless mimosas. We had a wonderful time so much we stayed for over 3 hours. Can't wait to go back. Thanks Lido.

This place is a destination, so any time you or someone you know is having a good time in Upper Manhattan, let them know to finish off the perfect day in Harlem's own Lido. Excellent Italian fare in an attractive and cheerful space. In warm weather the floor-to-ceiling windows open to an outdoor dining area. There's definitely a bar scene here as well - it's a very social place. But that doesn't get in the way of the cuisine and the service.

The restaurant is very inviting from the outside. Service is friendly and attentive. Nice relaxed atmosphere with a vibe. I usually like to order a couple of appetizers as my entrée. They start you off with crusty bread and a delicious tapenade. Couldn't help but ask for seconds. I love their veal meatballs and parmesan polenta fries. Warm Salad of Arugula, Roasted Pears, Walnuts, Shaved Parmesan is delicious. Good portion sized dishes.

We hosted a celebratory brunch for 13 guests this past Sunday, May 19th for my son's 30th birthday. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the staff (especially our waiter Wesley) were so attentive and the atmosphere was very stylish and appealing. Susannah helped us plan the event in the weeks leading up to the event and she couldn't have been nicer. I highly recommend Lido for both large and small groups. Everyone in our party had a wonderful experience.

Perfect choice for a date night or a family dinner with kids. An extensive selection of Italian foods. Nice wine list, good cocktails. What's not to like?

I went there to have dinner with my friend for his birthday , the service was amazing the lady who seated us and the waiter were both very very nice , the food was great . I love italian cuisine and Lido didn’t disappoint me at all . -The grilled or roasted lamp shops : 8/10 -I forgot the name but it was like a lasagna with eggplant ( it doesn’t look good in the picture but it was super delicious) : 9.5/10 - Tiramisu : 8/10 like the one you have in Rome.

Last time we were there when it had just opened we were dazzled by the freshness and quality of food: not so this time. My Brussels sprouts were limp and overcooked. My gnocchi were not great either: drowning in cream and bland, barely tasted the truffles. My husband's salmon was average. It's as if somehow they have lost their vision. The service was poor as well: We sat without menus for a really long time. were not even offered the wine list nor a drink to accompany our meal. We nursed our cocktails that we brought from the bar, happily, as those were the only worth items of the evening. A very disappointing experience. What happened to what used to be rated 24 in Zagat's? Long gone, so sad.

My daughter and I visited Lido on 31st December. We had made a booking for 6.30pm. The staff welcomed us warmly and the option given to us was a set 3 course and a 4 course meal. There were not too many vegetarian options. The dessert however was very good and we enjoyed that. The tables were very close to one another - probably that is the feature of all NY RESTARAUNTS.

This is our neighborhood go-to for a casual dinner. The salads are particularly delicious, and we’ve enjoyed every pasta on the menu. It’s kid friendly in the earlier hours of the evening, and is a nice date spot later on.

Great atmosphere with an excellent bar and food. Service also good - very welcoming and friendly. Have returned several times and am always happy with the whole experience

Excellent food and service. Lots of variety on the menu. Prix Fixe lunch -- a bargain at $10. I had steamed mussels in a tangy sauce -- outstanding.

Lido never disappoints, brunch, lunch, dinner-it's all good. Service is exceptional and we always feel welcomed. Favorite dishes-well all of them. Inventive menu, fresh ingredients, great wine choices. Love the place..

A friend recommended me to come to this place and I am not a pasta lover, but I love italian food. I decided to try the lamb chops and they were perfectly cooked and all dishes on my table were delicious.

we were there early saturday evening. Wait staff and food were great.. Service with the food was slow but it was ok since we were not in a rush. Everything was delicious...pear/walnut salad, salmon, ribs, chicken marsala . Nice wine by the glass selection and fairly priced. good vibe but you could still have a conversation. We were able to find street parking a block away. Reservations a must. a couple of stairs up from street but there is an a "tented" area I think you can get into without the stairs, Will definitely return .

On a Sunday was looking for a bottomless brunch and found this place on Open Table. While we weren't able to make a reservation, we decided to walk over anyways. Just a short hop across five avenues...and four streets..made it to the destination ready for some drinks. We grabbed seats at the bar and had Conner as our bartender. Right away started with bottomless mimosas and it really was bottomless. Every time my partner's glass was empty mine was filled up again...so was never empty! Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the French toast with a side of bacon. The spaghetti was just ok, really bland. The French toast was delicious, didn't need syrup on every bite..but I've got a sweet tooth so the more the merrier. Bacon could have been more cooked for my taste. While sitting at the bar, I saw two bottles of Harlem Standard and inquired to where they were made. Thinking there could be a distillery in Harlem, Conner read the label and they are made in non-other than...Indiana?!?! Next time will plan a bit more in advance to grab a table, overall great experience.

Food is really creative, and the place is loud with unlimited Mimosa's until 3:30 pm so you can understand. Pancakes, gnocchi, braised Short Rib Hash, Shrimp omelets, sides of bacon. A perfect brunch place.

Stopped by for sidewalk drinks and appetizers on a Thursday after work carrying a large blue box with a plaque inside. Left the box under the menus and called on Friday. No one has seen the box. First restaurant that I've know of that did not return an item left behind. There is no way the table was cleaned of and the box was not seen. And there weren't any patrons left on the sidewalk as there were rain showers. No more Lido for me and my friends. Just goes to show that even though an establishment looks upscale, it's not necessarily so.

I went here for breakfast and had their pancakes. It was decent. Nothing spectacular or amazing. I felt like I could made better ones at home. I also had pasta here for dinner and it was just ok. I think maybe they do not go for the wow factor. So if you are looking for a regular meal with no excitement. Then you will be happy. The best part of this restaurant is the location and the ambiance. They have great wine and service. They just need to work on making their menu exciting.

Call it "rebirth," call it "gentrification," but it was impossible to imagine a place like Lido ten years ago on the corner of 117th and Frederick Douglass. The food is delicious and exquisite, there's more space than you would find at a similar place in West Village, and the service is excellent. And because rents are still not too pretty reasonable, so are the food prices (well, by Manhattan standards).

I had some mild variations on some consistent old favorites. The polenta fries, nectarine and heirloom salad and halibut over lemon risotto. The salad was very well balanced with very fresh fruit elements that lent a nice sweetness to the burrata. Polenta fries were on point with a light but flavorful mustard based aoli. Finishing off with the halibut, it was beautifully cooked and the risotto provided just the right amount of citrus to heighten the flavor. I only wish they had left on the skin and put a nice sear on it to provide some much needed texture to the dish beyond the risotto. Constant attention and water refills were provided. Including wiping crumbs and asking if I needed anything while offering additional menu suggestions and eventually desert. The ladder I found I was too full for, though the options looked very enticing and I'm confident Lido would have executed well.
Lunch at Lido was de-Licious!
Visited the Lido recently with a group from Long Island in the City for a "field trip" to explore local historic sites. What a wonderful choice for our lunchtime stop--they had a menu prepared especially for us with 3 choices of appetizers --I loved my Salt Cod Fritters; 3 choices of main dish --my Grilled Chicken Panini was great and I brought 1/2 of it home; 2 choices of dessert--I was thrilled with my Brownie Sundae with gelato, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Iced tea, plenty of cold water and coffee were included. The wait staff was friendly and very pleasant and efficient. I would certainly make a point of returning if I'm in the area again and would highly recommend this restaurant.
