Started out terrible but got better. We had to wait for a table so we went to the bar, and first crack in the paint was, it took forever to get our drinks. To make it worse, we met a couple who was waiting and for their inconvenience, they got prosecco. What did we get? Zero. After 40 minutes we were seated and thank goodness for Saer! He was exceptional! Caring, knowledgeable and personable. A saving grace at that point The design is beautiful, had good energy, service was excellent but it's loud, in case that's not your thing. Now the food... Guacamole was tasty to start off but obviously not a culinary litmus test. The spicy caesar was good, nothing to write home about, Tuna Tartar the same. The Yellowtail Aquachile was delicious, would eat 4 of them and drink the sauce. The Squash Blossom Machete (quesadilla), was so bland, easily the worst dish of the night. Then we were back to yummy with the Pork Belly Chicharron (but can you really have a bad pork belly?) Lastly, the Elote Brûlée was to die for. Drinks? My paloma was super bland. The Margaritas were good. At $350 for two people? Not sure if it's worth it being so hit or miss.
Fantastic Hit from Don Angie Team !
The Don Angie Team has struck again. This time with Mexican food! Perfect ambience, and incredible attention to detail in its newest location near Hudson yards. The food was absolutely wonderful and had the right balance of upscale flavors and Mexican spices. The manager, Miss Fuentes runs an incredible staff and show. We highly suggest getting the Tres leches dessert. Also, the entire restaurant is just beautiful. Especially the bar in the main room.
