I went to Ruby's after seeing it on Instagram. I had to wait for about 20 min's for a table. I chose the gnocci with tomato, aubergine and mozzarella, which was tasty. This is not a place packed with tourist, but more with locals.

Though small the service is fast and efficient and totally worth the wait. This is my 3rd time to Ruby's and from salads to pasta and burgers, they have all been wonderful. The staff all have these incredible accents.... and they are all so nice.

It’s one of those places where you want to go over and over again because it’s so good. I had the chicken sandwich and it was the bomb, it was served with fries ... omg the fries !!!!! They Were sooo good and I am Belgian so I know what I am talking about. It’s served with some kind of aioli mayonnaise and it was just perfect. Next time i come back I will try the sweet potatoes fries. The kale Caesar salad was served with apples and it was nice and refreshing. I just can’t wait to go back. Thank you for making me and my stomach very happy ;)

This was the perfect place to take my daughter and her friends that live in the are for dinner. EXCELLENT food great service. Nice little wine list. The place is VERY small so plan on a big wait but believe me it was worth the time we waited. Everything was fresh and tasty

Perfect breakfast spot. Coffee pressed per cup and is amazing. Creative and filling dishes. Friendly staff.

Every visit to Ruby's is special. I truly haven't gone and had a good meal. Yes - there's always a wait but it is worth it. All of the menu options are amazing and the staff makes you feel at home. Try the sweet potato fries!

Burger with pineapple, beet and fried egg or Pesto pasta with kale, baby peas, snap peas and zucchinis are some of the choices you find at Ruby's. Both were excellent.

Ate here without reservation on a very busy Tuesday evening and both thoroughly enjoyed the grub! We opted for chicken burger and the chicken pasta which were the most reasonable mains we had while in NYC. Ate every morsel and service was cheerful and responsive! Lovely Irish lad serving us couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend for cosy but lively atmosphere and fabulous choice of comfort food/healthier options.

We wanted a quick meal with some healthy food before our trip home. Ruby's offered healthy options and the service and food were very good. Will definitely return the next time we're in the area.

Me and my girlfriend had a lunch here: the food was great and there was a nice and inviting atmosphere. We had the shrimp pasta and shrimp salad and they were both delicious. Definitely a recommender!

Great neighbourhood spot! The food was very generous portions and all very fresh and quality ingredients. My daughters had the flapjacks and I had a delicious BLAT sandwich which was huge! Coffee was delicious and my teens were very happy with their fresh OJ & coconut! Highly recommend for the beautiful aesthetic & tasty food.

I was very impressed with this place! I got the pumpkin seed pasta and it was amazing. It all tasted very fresh - we also got a side of fries and Brussels sprouts. We will definitely be going back!

The food at Ruby’s is quite good, but I am really tired of places that refuse to seat one person who is waiting for just one other until both are present. Would you use a different table for two people than for a solo?????? It’s a tiny place with no place to wait and when it’s 19 degrees out, the host may want to use common sense and let the person SIT AT A TABLE that will be the one inevitably used when the friend shows up.

Could not fault this for breakfast. Enjoyed delicious food and drinks in a cute environment with good service. Run by Australians it has a trendy neighbourhood vibe. We went to the one in Murray Hill. I had granola chai bowl, green juice and chai latte - all lovely. Would come back again.

this is the sister branch of Ruby's in Nolita. The burgers are equally great! The fries are awesome too! On the evening we went, they didnt serve alcohol , i hope the issue is resolved now.

Perfect spot for a fast brunch with great food selection. It is small so you may have to wait for a table. Reasonable prices make this a terrific food, service and value for money café.

I highly recommend the pasta and toasts. I went on a Saturday and was quite crowded so me and my friend had to wait for a bit (10 minutes). Cost is average for a New York restaurant.

Trendy neighborhood cafe with several locations around NYC with this one on 3rd Avenue between Kips Bay and Murray Hill. We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning and were able to make a reservation online for a table on the sidewalk in front of the cafe. I ordered the Big Breakfast which was tasty. Service was good even though the restaurant was very busy. There were many without a reservation waiting for a table.

I had tried Ruby’s at their Nolita location a few years back and it wasn’t very memorable. The only thing I remembered was that their burgers are served on a hoagie/hero-type bread but I couldn’t remember if I liked it or not. Fast forward to 2017. My boyfriend and I were sort of in the area and were looking for a dinner spot. I thought of Ruby’s because my friend had recently been raving about the burgers so I decided to give it another shot. I did not regret it. It was a solid burger. I ordered the Whaleys (premium ground beef, tomato, lettuce, beet, pineapple, fried egg & ketchup) and he ordered the Bronte (premium ground beef, tomato, lettuce, sweet chilli, mayo & cheese). I didn’t get pineapple on it because I hate canned pineapple, but the beet was a nice complement. I used to think it was weird until I went to Australia a few years ago and even McDonald’s had beets in their burgers. I started liking beets ever since. We ended up going halfsies on each. The Bronte was good too, but I liked the Whaleys better. It seems they overcooked both patties when we asked for medium rare. It was more of a medium well but even so, the patty wasn’t dry at all. It was still a good burger. I’ll definitely be back to try some of their grain bowls (and another Whaleys)!

A local friend of mine recommended this place to me and we went there for breakfast last week while visiting NY. We managed to get there at a quiet time and were served quick, the guys were pretty laid back, typical Aussies :) The food was delicious and resonably priced according to NY standards. My only complaint would be the cramped layout, the tables are very close to each other, I`m glad we got there when it was half empty.

The burger here is excellent. We went for lunch on a rainy day and the service was a bit slow. I think they may have been a little overwhelmed by delivery orders.

Love this place! Everything on the menu is awesome! Last time I went I tried there new veggie burger and it was delicious. I always get the sweet potato fries when I got here and I sweat they put crack on those fries, because they are amazing! Order them for sure, you will thank me later. I've been here over 20 times and I can't get enough of this place. @traveleen_gurl

I love Ruby’s. I had breakfast here twice and it wasn’t at all close to where I was staying, but I walked there the first time, from 44th St and 6th Ave in Midtown, it took about 25 minutes but I’m a fast walker. You can catch the 6 subway to 33rd St and then walk a couple of blocks in a nice neighbourhood if you aren’t staying nearby. In a city where it’s hard to get a proper coffee, even in so-called Australian places like Bluestone Lane (not the best coffee I had in New York) and everywhere seems to have a standard menu for breakfast that originated in the 1950s, Ruby’s is a breath of fresh air. Firstly, it’s a cool little space. Secondly, the staff are just lovely, they couldn’t be more helpful. Thirdly, the coffee is excellent, and I’m talking Perth or Melbourne standard excellent, and we are FUSSY about our coffee. Finally, the menu is fun, healthy and really well balanced, the food is great and it is not at all expensive. I just wish they opened earlier than 9am.

My daughter and I visited this place last week... It is always crowded so we thought we would give it a try... great place!

Had a great meal there and everything I tasted was equally yummy. I ordered the sweet corn and bacon couscous and it was delicious and creamy and comforting. My companions ordered: Rag Bol - spaghetti bolognese and peppers - delicious! Fried Chicken Burger - crunchy and delicious and large! Shrimp pasta - lemon, tomatoes, cream and yumminess! So, eat here and be happy.

Good menu, great coffee for NYC but sadly totally indifferent service. A large number of staff hanging doing absolutely nothing whilst guests await service resulting in long delays. It’s most frustrating but not unknown in this establishment. When asked when could we expect our order we were given a totally lame excuse but regrettably No Apology. If you are modelling yourselves on Australian cafes you’ve got a long way to go, lift your game Ruby’s.

Amazing. Staff were really friendly and the avo toast is a dream! Came here every day for a week! Well worth the prices and portions are perfect. Highly recommended! Please please open up a Ruby's in London!!

We ate here with our kids. They loved the hotcakes and the food was good but the service sucked. They won’t offer to fill your coffee unless you ask because they charge for refills. The restaurant was pretty empty and 3 ladies were serving but they were too busy chatting to offer service. It was also feeezing because of a cold draft coming from the kitchen area...should have eaten breakfast at a food truck given the poor service.

Had a lovely vegetarian burger with truffle fries and a sparkling water for $20 including tip. Generous portions which are reasonably priced. Wait staff are friendly and food came quickly. It does get slightly hectic when busy and you can be waiting for some time. Worth a try if you're nearby.

If you're over 40 I'd stay away. It's unbelievably loud, very uncomfortable seating wise, the service is slow and the burgers are very heavy. I know young people love the place. I don't get it. You can't talk to the person across the tiny table from you without shouting above the super loud music, wall echos and other people shouting above all that. The chairs are small and hard. The surroundings look like a bathroom. And yet there are lines of millennials dying to get in. OK. Fine. I'm old.

Ruby's is NOT Australian food. They have like one Australian menu item - the vegimite on toast. I went with the hope of trying some Australian cuisine, hence the reason for the 4 stars. The waitress and waiters were very friendly, quick, and helpful. I ordered the Shrimp Pasta ($16, spaghetti, chilli oil, lime, tomatoes & arugula) and it was delicious. That's all it came with - no bread or salad, just a creamy bowl of flavorful pasta served quickly, and consumed quickly. This place is tiny and it was packed when I was there - but that could have been because they were filming an interview with a band with a full restaurant!

Friendly service and atmosphere and good menu. Food was well prepared and fairly tasty but left feeling i needed more, for what we paid (bit stingy on the toast and other bits). There are other favs that i will be inclined to go back to over this place. If you are in the area, it is worthwhile but not worth traveling far to come here.

my wife, oldest daughter and her 2 young children had dinner here on a Saturday night in February and all of us enjoyed our food. There are not many tables but because of the children we arrived around 6 and were able to be seated. Had we waited much longer there would have been a wait. The menu is varied and there are choices for all tastes. There is no children's menu but they offer some child's portions and the kids were fine. If only my wife and I were in the city again, we would go back.

If you could imagine a perfect cafe, it would be this one. Immaculate cozy vibes inside with just the right amount of hustle and bustle. Food was delicious all around and service was friendly. We were told it would be about a 20 min wait, but it ended up being less than that (and would have been well worth the wait regardless). Perfect menu with plenty of options for any time of day and any kind of eater.

Stumbled upon Ruby’s while on a trip to NYC with my mom. We had planned to go somewhere up the street but there was an extremely long wait. When we walked into Ruby’s there was no wait and we were seated right away. The food was good, and you got the impression it was more of a spot for locals. They even had gluten free bread for those with celiac like me! Would recommend to anyone who is in the neighborhood.

Service is terrible but the food is great. Burger and sweet potato fries are the move. If they could do a better job with service, that would be great. Thank being said, the line is out the door and the price point is cheap, so it doesn’t seem anything will change.

I really liked this place. The staff is very nice, and for whatever reason is made up entirely of Australians, haha. Had a delicious meal, so definitely no complaints about the food. At the time I went (about 1.5 months ago) they didn't yet have their liquor license. Not sure if this has changed yet. It was a bit strange though. Note that the place is quite small. It makes it intimate, which is great, but it also means you may have to wait a while (they don't take reservations). They also don't have a bar for you to grab a drink while you wait. Just no room (and again, no liquor license yet at the time I went). So you'll likely end up going to one of the local bars while you wait for them to text you. Not a huge deal, but just FYI.

Decent service and great food. The beers and cocktails were served imaginatively, and then food presented well, making a pleasant positive difference for the cafe. Seating outside was a bit noisy when we went, but that’s the NY street theater for you!

So the only downside I had to this restaurant, was the waitress seemed annoyed by our presence. My daughter and boyfriend liked their lattes. We had 2 orders of the ricotta hot cakes, a basic eggs-hash-browns-bacon, and the corn fritters with 2 over easy eggs. The corn cakes were quite delicious with the corn bits and the crispy cakes. We also had sides of hash browns. They were shaped like McDonald's hash browns, but they were a bit crispier (although I have not had those in at least 15 years). The meals came with well dressed greens. The griddled bananas were a nice accompaniment to the pancakes as were the little sides of maple syrup and Nutella. They were great for dips of individual bites

Visited Little Ruby’s recently with my daughter for breakfast; booked 30 mins before online, but there were a few tables available if we had just turned up. Service was quick & all staff were welcoming & friendly. Chose the Breakfast bowl which was delicious & returned 3 days later for the same. Would definitely recommend & return next time I’m in NYC.

Ruby's New York City Comfort food, Australian style! Ruby's cafe 604472080 Having dinner at Ruby's Cafe was quite an eye-opener. For a start the restaurant is intimate and welcoming. The food appetizing and varied and the clientele..young! I say this as I'm of "a certain age" and looking around the space, i could have been anyone's father! The background music was a trifle too loud unfortunately drowning out polite conversation, however the menu, food selection and excellent service made up for any distracting ambient audio! Salads, Burgers, Pasta and veggies were available and everything we ate was delicious. I selected the Crispy Grain Bowl which included avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, radish, snap peas, with a red-wine vinaigrette, add i added a side of smoked salmon. My dining companion chose the lamb ragu in a tomato sauce. We shared the two side-dishes of Brussels Sprouts and Sweet Potato Fries and the menu, being typically antipodean, had vegemite toast - love it or hate it, it's an acquired taste but not on this particular visit! Tim, the Manager, was the perfect ambassador for this Australian owned group and although one didn't feel rushed, I couldn't help but observe the fast turn-over. Patrons ate and ran and when we left there was a mega line of anticipated hungry millennials panting to get inside. Just proving that word of mouth and cheap n cheerful eats is the name of the game. I must also try the Sunday Brunch next time, providing I get there early! There are three Ruby's Cafes, two in Manhattan. I ate at the Murray Hill location. The other is in Soho. The third is in Los Angeles at Santa Monica. G-day, mate!

This little Aussie restaurant serves delicious food in a quaint space. I tried all ranges of food— breakfast, burger, and pasta— all were great choices. They turn over tables pretty quickly so wait time is usually pretty quick (20-30 min max). Prices were very reasonable and service was great!

It was a busy Sunday, and we waited about 30 minutes for brunch. All the food was very tasty, but portions were skimpy. I got a plate of hot cakes for $14, and there should have been one or 2 more, or make them bigger! Someone at our table got a breakfast bowl, but they should have called it a half a bowl- just not enough food! There was spaghetti squash in it, but why not a cup full, instead of a tablespoon full? also it was cool out, and the door should have been closed, but it was open

Still busy as usual. Ruby's, just like it's SoHo location, offers solid burgers and pasta. Good for satisfying those cravings.

A really excellent breakfast, beautifully presented, in a very pleasant (and heated) sidewalk space —at a reasonable price (for New York). With a very nice staff.

Great healthy food choices and a fun casual atmosphere. This is my go to restaurant in NYC for a quick, healthy meal with a friendly vibe.

This is the sister restaurant of Ruby's in Soho. The burgers are great and so are the fries! Nice little place, friendly service. Would visit for their burgers again!

It’s ok nothing special I wanted a normal pasta with red sauce everything has either cream or bacon , choices are limited

Went with my son to Ruby’s and had a nice lunch, although nothing special. I had an Impossible Burger without the bread. I asked them to put it over a salad instead and they did so. It was good. The one at Five Napkin Burger is the best one I’ve ever had in the city. My son had a Breakfast Bowl which he said was good but not very filling. The sides of Brussel Spouts and Sweet Potato Fries were excellent. If you’re in the neighborhood it’s worth a try but I wouldn’t make a special trip here. I think there’s a few scattered around the city. Also it’s a very small place so be prepared to know your neighbor.

We were back in NYC, having left 5 years ago after a glorious 35-year live affair. Just looking for a delicious, affordable mid day meal. Found everything we were looking for.

The egg sandwich is my favorite thing to get here. The restaurant is a little small so you might be on top of the table next to you. The coffee is also excellent, one of my favorite places for a low key brunch instead of a bottomless brunch place in the neighborhood

The food was really good, great service, and the food was really good!!! Definitely not time square prices. Really good find
Good solid Aussie-based menu
Food and service were above average. We were both underwhelmed by our flat whites (we are Sydneysiders) but still better than most American attempts at coffee. We would go here again for a quick no-fuss meal.
