This spot has really interesting and healthy food options (plus some guilty pleasures) and it's dog friendly! We had the crispy rice salad and fries with truffle aioli. I would note that I wasn't impressed by the portion size - it was noticeably small and they don't plate to hide it. Additionally, the halloumi was burnt and the salad itself lacked any flavor at all plus the rice was way over fried. We put sriracha on top to try and add spice and it was much better after that. The fries and aioli were great and there were other items on the menu that looked interesting so I'd give this place another shot. The drinks are served in fun cups and glasses and the wait staff is very friendly but I will say that the space is tight. My back was pressed against another diner the entire time which wasn't ideal.

The fact that there was a queue out the door on a freezing Monday lunchtime suggesting this was a place worth visiting. After a wait of about 15 minutes, we got a table, albeit the one by the door, but we were so hungry we didn't care. The service is quick and very friendly, with most of the staff Australian. The menu is small, consisting mostly of burgers, pasta and various substantial salads. Food arrived quickly, and was outstandingly good. The highlight was the Bondi burger, which was fillet of chicken marinated in chilli sauce, and it really delivered a kick. The sweet potato fries were a great accompaniment, and the salad and muesli we also ordered were both fantastic too. Two adults and a child went away completely full and happy for $42 plus tips, which for Manhattan is an absolute steal. Had it been an evening and we'd added alcohol, this would obviously have pushed the bill up somewhat, but it's doubtful it would have been astronomical even then. We will definitely return next time we're in NY.

Just a fabulous place. No reservation so we waited 20 minutes for a table. Ended up in the smaller location next door to main restaurant. Didnt make a difference. Food was incredible, really fresh and full of flavour. Wish I had noted the name of the host because he was so good, very friendly and the kids loved him.

Amazing egg with hash brown sandwich!! Rest of the food was so so...burger was a little dry but the service was amazing. Cafe has a nice vibe to it also.

We actually ate here twice during our recent visit to NYC. The first was for lunch, and my burger was delicious. My husband loved his smoothie so much we came back a few days later for breakfast. The food was fresh & tasty both visits, and the staff pleasant. I’m sure we’ll be back the next time we’re in New York.

If it wasn't for the chef in this restaurant I think this cafe would not get the customers coming in. I am from Australia and it is a lovely breakfast and got reccomended by friends. The girl who was Australian obviously knew we were didn't even say welcome guys and didn't even make any conversation. However the staff who were a mix of Australians and American where very rude did not smile or even say thank you when we tipped over 20%. Praise only to the chef for the amazing eggs! Other than that.. Maybe smile to your customers and be a little more friendly could benefit your business... New yorks I a big place people will take their money elsewhere.

Food and Service was excellent. I had a Burger with a Salad, both was super fresh and smelled delicious.

The burgers and side dishes were very good, good beers too. The only thing that left me a bit confused was this light Australian theme that the restaurant had: some of the dishes were named after famous beach like bronti or bondi and there was a framed picture of the Sidney opera house sitting on top of the toilet. So it seemed to be an Australian themed restaurant just one block north of little Italy serving American food... a bit confusing if I have to be honest

We had a good breakfast, as it should be. Good coffee, granola, eggs, bacon... Enjoyed it! Very friendly!

Relaxing meal, excellent service and tasty food. The pasta with pumpkin pesto was a tasty combo ! Side salad, Boston lettuce ( almost a full head) with watermelon radishes and a light dressing….,unbelievable !!! The sausage pasta hit the spot. All fresh ingredients with a twist

Got a table here at the last minute when our intended restaurant was full. The burger was delicious, a real surprise. Great service although the space is a little cramped.

Food was delicious and service was nice. The area was really cool too. The restaurant is small and may share a table with someone, but there is obviously a reason it was packed at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon!

We visited Ruby”s on a recent trip to New York. It was a lovely place. Such a great find! The food was really tasty and fresh. Lovely coffee too! A great spot if you’re staying in Murray Hill/ 29th St.

It is charming and nice. The food is unpretentious and quite ok. The sound volume is a bit high for 2 50+ people, but we still had a good time.

We found it hard to find a decent brunch whilst staying in NYC. This cafe offers everything we like. Eggs, Bacon, Avocado, great coffee (flat white), full brekkie etc with that all good Aussie touch! The food was great and just what we wanted/needed. Situated in the cool Lafayette/ NoHo area it has a very laid-back vibe and great service. Would recommended to anyone wanting that proper decent brunch or good a tasty lunch at a fair price.

Fell into this place when eating across the street. It's a great little eatery with some solid food! Waiter was awesome, aussie, and friendly - win/win! Food was really good, and the wait time wasn't too bad. overall good experience!

My friend and I went here for dinner based on a recommendation from a friend who lives locally and it exceeded expectations. Everything from the beer to the burgers to the dessert was fantastic. And to top it all off, some very friendly staff who even threw in a free pint. Will definitely return!

I had heard Aussie style coffee had started to reach New York and after a few really bad coffees was relieved to find it on visit. Visited twice for breakfast. Coffee is really good and they make flat whites just like home. Great food (including vegemite toast) and really friendly service. Always a good sign on our second visit was packed but we only had to wait 10 mins for table.

Two out of 5 of our family need gluten free for Coeliacs disease and they were able to provide lovely gluten free burgers in bread rolls and fries or sweet potato fries that were lovely. It is a lovely restaurant with a cool vibe. Highly recommend it.

The restaurant is quaint and small. If you are only with a couple of people chances are that you will share tables. The restaurant is located in Mulberry street and a cool neighbourhood. The menu has various options with some familiar Australian favourites. The menu has options from salads to pastas to noodles something for everyone to enjoy. Most of the meals have a base option then you can add meats and further sides if you wish to. All meals are of generous sizes, we had a variety of dishes of the salads and noodles. All dishes were fresh and all enjoyed! The prices are reasonable and affordable for the quality of food.

We planned a siblings' meeting with people coming from LA and from Europe, this was our first meal during our trip. So we got the hamburgers which got us running for the rest of the evening. The hamburgers are like beef panini's, pressed in a grill, and they are very good. I was expecting a huge bun and traditional, but this was a good surprise. Pasta with chicken for the kids went very well. We sat in the outside stalls and though was cold outside the stalls were very warm (maybe too much). Service was nice but non-chalant.

Long waiting line outside. Friendly service but place is small and overcrowded. Small and unstable tables. Keep your coat on or put it on your lap. No space left to hang it. Couscous bowl was not good. Overcooked and not tasty. Kale salad was tasty but very small. You would need at least 2 sides to have a full lunch. Fries were tasty. Would not recommend it. Loud music. No wifi.

We were at Ruby's on 28th October for breakfast and were quite pleased with the food and decor. But all of that changed with the male server's snob and condescendent atitude making it a very bad experience. At the end while we were leaving he even came and call us DEMANDING at least 20% tip saying it was mandatory in NYC and that we were only leaving 15%... we had to give him all our dollars left while standing at the door like if we were doing something wrong... would not recomend since it ruined our experience and the rest of the day :( the biggest tip to the biggest loser indeed!

I just came back from (the most amazing) a year abroad in Melbourne Australia so upon restaurant searching and discovering this place was American/Aussie food I was determined to pay a visit! Came tonight on my last night of a vacation in New York City with my dad. We arrived at 8:30pm and were told we needed to wait around half an hour for a table as the place was very busy, we decided to wait despite being starving as it looked busy and the reviews looked promising! Our waitress was a little cold and aloft, especially being Australian I was surprised there wasn't better service and more smiles amongst staff (I do miss the genuine warm hearted, kind , friendly melbournians!) HOWEVER FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. My dad ordered a glass of red wine and the cheeseburger with fries and a small side salad, he was stuffed after and said it was delicious. I ordered a pumpkin salad which was very generously portioned, came with a massively generous healing of goats cheese, plenty of roasted pumpkin slices, pine nuts, baby spinach and a delicious lemony vinegrette. Honestly out of this world, I haven't had a salad this great in all of New York or London or Europe in the two months I've been back from Australia! True Melbourne salad , honestly I cannot recommend enough! The other salads also looked delicious, as did the pasta's in particular. Had a quick look at the brekkie menu and was delighted to see beloved vegemite and smashed Avo and banana bread on there! True Australian classics! If I wasn't leaving tomorrow I would be back in a heartbeat! Music is a little loud and the vibe is quite studenty and hip! Meal came to $43 overall which was very reasonable.

Waited 20 minutes for a server to swing by for the initial drink order. At the end of the night we gad to ask for the check at least 5 times. We finally got up and left after 45 minutes. We were warned that the service here was bad, but did not expect this kind of treatment. Will be avoiding in the future.

We just stopped by without a reservation and we seated within 10 minutes or so and it was great. The place is tiny, so the tables are very close together, but that was fine. The servers were incredibly attentive and the food very good. We enjoyed the Ricotta Hotcakes, the Green Eggs Bowl and the Big Breakfast and all great.

A busy spot, good food options, prompt service, friendly staff. Our NYC family members recommended it. An active, positive vibe, Minor negative: perhaps a little cramped, but it was a Friday evening , so go with it....

It was a Sunday morning and the place was packed. There was a 30 minute wait (the place is small inside) but the employees were all very accommodating, the service was good, the food came out fast and was great. A constant flow of fresh coffee fended off the cold morning's chill!

If you want good coffee like us australians enjoy then I highly recommend Ruby's. food is also excellent and great service

Really poor service and bad manners. They tried to charge us extra and we told the manager what the problem was he answered rudely. Besides, they were unsure about some gluten free food they offer. Food was average, nothing special.

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere to eat Saturday night at around 8-9 which anyone who has been to NYC before will tell you can be difficult. After being told we’d need to wait over an hour we came across Ruby’s. Small spot but very nice all the same. We only had to wait 20 minutes and they called us when ready allowing us to walk down to Little Italy. Service was brilliant. After we ordered we had out food in around 5 minutes and it was delicious!! Highly recommend it to anyone hungry and looking some good food!

delicious menu, and food fulfils its expectations. light, healthy, and satisfying dishes. a perfect soho weekday/weekend breakfast/lunch/brunch.

We ate here one night and really enjoyed the laid back nature of the place and the high quality food on offer . We had a fabulous side order of fried Brussels sprouts - OMG Ive never tasted sprouts fried like this before they were so good. The GF burger bun was lovely ,I would definitely like to eat here again.

For sure, my favorite spot in NY. Try everything, really! From burger to salads and pasta, oh well, it's the best small place in the city! Staff is kind and the food delicious - what can we ask more?

Lovely food and great service. We came back twice during our stay in New York. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to New York. The best pancakes!

This is Place is a fabulous find in NY - the food is amazing and tastes like homemade - real quality and fresh healthy flavours. A real treat after the constant heart attack fodder of so many US establishments. Went twice!

Came in for breakfast and we were seated after not too long waiting. Had the corn fritters and pancakes for breakfast dessert - unnecessary but very tasty! Corn fritters were also delicious. The main thing that lets them down is the coffee - for a place that markets itself as an australian cafe, the coffee is woeful, and the barista is very slow, making one at a time on a machine set up to produce 4. Service could be more attentive also.

We are so happy we discovered ruby's during our soho walk around!its a must try restaurant for sure! Great menu with lots of interesting options and excellent presentation! You must try their salads and burgers (maybe the best burger we had in nyc), soooo good!prices were also reasonable compared to what you normally pay in nyc central areas. we also loved the restaurant's vibe that was exactly what you look for after a day around soho! I wish we had the time to try also their brunch!

We were just looking for coffee and something for breakfast but boy what a jackpot in this Aussie enclave. Best healthiest breakfast I have ever had and best coffee I had in our week long stay in New York. A must visit

Have come here many times- the food is so simple and good, with a very relaxed atmos. Such a good place to grab a burger on the weekend!

For People who love to spend for delicious breakfast it's a must. Great Spot in Mulberry Street. Location is an old garage, service and food are excellent. With Fiat Café the best place to get Breakfast or Brunch.

Food was fine. Nothing so memorable that I would have waited a great length of time. Our food took a really long time to come out. Waitress was nice and apologized and took some off the bill because of it. Because of that consideration I went up from a three to a four rating

Well worth the wait. Lively, young and hip atmosphere. Interesting food variations and cool deco reminiscencing Down Under.

Great coffee, with melt in you mouth pancakes. The eggs on rice was tops. Really friendly Aussie service. A really nice space to be in. Loved it.

A Very trendy but popular restaurant in the Soho area. The place is very tiny and always packed so the wait to get a table is always quite long. Despite the crowd , the service was on point. Tables are very close to each other, a very crowded atmosphere but that’s definitely the charm and very typical of New York city restaurants. The food was excellent from appetizers to main courses. The crispy Brussels sprouts was our favorite. The salad was on point and the pasta was excellent. I don’t think this place takes reservations, you just wait in line as you walk in.

I'm super impressed with Ruby's Cafe. Not only is the food delicious, but it's affordably priced unlike many other wannabe joints. Though there may be lines, but waits aren't too terrible because Ruby's Cafe has two adjacent venues. The pastas are are winners, but the Bronte burger is the star who wins in the clutch. It's much better than other burgers that try to be gourmet and hike up prices meaninglessly. Service was prompt and the experience was pleasant.

Trendy and tasty food. Not the most extensive menu but then the dishes were all interesting and fresh. We made our choices but still had food envy when everyone else' spinner was served around us. Fantastic desserts too!

Highly recommended spot for breakfast / brunch / lunch. Great Aussie owned spot with excellent coffee. Highly recommended if you're staying nearby or if shopping in Soho/ Nolita.

I’m actually not a big fan of hamburgers, but Ruby’s and the staff never let me down! Ordered Bronte burger and IPA on the very first day I arrived in NYC :) It’s on Mulberry Street, one of the coolest streets in the city. You can enjoy shopping as well.

Visited Ruby's with my husband on our vacation to NYC. It was a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed - some very tasty food in a cool setting: sunny, warm morning and we were seated by the open window and got to watch the people walking by. Food was great - tasty and fresh. Deducting one star as they sort of forgot my smoothie (it came as we were already nearly finished with all the food) and the final bill was a bit pricey (though still in the NYC "normal"), paid around $60 for 2 people.

Love Ruby’s in Mulberry Street. Bringing Aussie style great food to NYC. Vegemite toast for breakfast and Lamb Ragu parpadelle for lunch. Highly recommended for a casual meal.

Great place for breakfast. Good service a friendly staff. Enjoyed watching a local be tempted to try that Aussie great Vegemite, his expression was priceless. Good value for money

We discovered Ruby's purely by accident. We were on a huge walk discovering New York and were famished towards the end of the day. Although there are several restaurants close by Ruby's looked the most inviting! Very small location but produces top quality food and drink. We are from Australia and were surprised to hear Australian accents amongst the staff. Our meals were delicious and generous in size, nice wine choices. Reasonably priced, staff friendly. A great find in NYC.

It is a very cute bistro in Soho. Great to see their nice decorated outdoor seating area. The wait is long! They have limited tables and not accepting reservation. Their burgers and fries are good. We also tried different types of pasta plates and enjoyed them. Service is great! Love their touchless check-out with QR scan. Quick, convenient and safe!

Every time we come to the city we stop by, wait in line, and tuck into a juicy burger at this small and cheerful restaurant. The food is consistently good, and the burgers are particularly tasty. Service a bit rushed at times.

Stayed at Hampton Inn Times Sq central and Ruby Sunday’s was really close to our hotel. So we choose to eat here after arriving tired and hungry for dinner . Was not at all dissapointing. All our meals were very good. Hiccrory bourbon salmon chips & beans , chicken burger tempora fish & prawns and New Orleans tilapia prawns chips and green beans. Service attentive and quick. Went back on the day we were leaving for lunch. Which was just as lovely

We were visiting New York City for a week and were desperate for Australian coffee. I googled “good Australian coffee” near me and Ruby’s popped up. I headed straight there - and it was just what my heart desired! The breakfast menu was the stuff of dreams in the American wasteland of food disappointment plus the coffee was just perfect! My family joined me on the following mornings - they too were ecstatic!

We showed up at 9pm on a Monday and were seated right away. GREAT VALUE! I love the lamb ragu, it was perfect with a glass of red wine. My partner ordered the Blueys with truffle fries. We were so pleased with the prices and service that we opted for dessert - Sticky Date Pudding. Loved the complex flavors and attention to detail in both my entree and dessert. This will be the new neighborhood staple!

We were looking for some nice pasta in Little Italy when we stumbled onto this little funky cafe. Fantastic quality food, good price, nice vibe and some cool Australian touches; "From little things big things grow", Bundaberg ginger beer, and Coopers.

Very nice shop, very kind and helpful staff, very nice food! Definitely worth a visit!

Ruby's is just one of those places that is WORTH the wait. I will say no more, just go with a couple of hungry people and make sure these two are included in your order: 1. lamb ragu pasta 2. shrimp pasta The place is young and buzzing with a younger crowd. So even though there is a queue, just be patient and wait in line, give the waitress your number, and walk around the streets cause there is a ton to see!

We went to have a brunch at one of the Ruby’s Cafe at Soho location last summer. The inside was smaller than I thought. It had a lovely looking outdoor seating area, which was a nice size. It was a hot day, so we wanted something cold to go with our food. We ordered Dirt Bag Shirley, which is a “Spiked Shirley Temple aka the Drink of the Summer.” It was really tasty and super refreshing! For food, I went with Spicy Sausage Breakfast Sandwich. Since it does not come with anything, I decided to add Fries with Truffle Aioli. The fries came in the huge bowl! They were perfectly fried, not greasy at all, with soft inside and crispy outside. Loved the aioli. I could have this every day… The sandwich was nice too. Eggs were super fluffy with perfect seasoning. Cheese was like melty snow, melting over on the top… Totally drool worthy. The sausage had little kick to it, but not spicy. My hubby went with the Big Breakfast. Bacon has sweetness to it, hash brown was great, packed with flavor! Tomato was super juicy, perfectly grilled. Eggs came out just the way we like them. Beans were nice too. Everything on the plate was amazing and delightful. We ended our brunch with a nice cup of Flat White. It was a strong cup of coffee, smooth and almost creamy, made to order on espresso machine. We had a really nice brunch there. The service was friendly, courteous and polite.

This place is great, me and the wife stumbled across it. The pasta dishes are amazing. All round great place to eat.

My friend brought me here saying it is the best burger I will ever have, she was 100% right! Loved this place. Absolutely delicious.

Dropped by for a coffee....told needed to wait for a place to be set. Mentioned only wanted a coffee, but still told to wait...the place was 2/3rd empty. Finally got in to a seat. longish wait for an order. Coffee?...excellent...Welcome Vibe?...lacking

We headed to Ruby’s for lunch as it was so close to the hotel, and had no idea the treat that awaited us! On a rainy Friday morning we managed to be seated immediately in a busy room. Staff were lovely and accommodating and we were served quickly. I went for the Gluten Free spicy sausage pizza which was seriously good - layers of flavour! The husband had a cheeseburger which he loved. There was loads of gluten free options - with GF burger buns and pasta on offer to tailor the menu. Prices were very reasonable for the quality - my pasta was around $13. We stuck with water for this time as drinks seemed on the pricey side, but if we’d had time to come back for dinner we for sure would have and had a nice glass of wine too! Highly recommend :)

We were recommended this restaurant and thank you for your advice. A great restaurant serving Italian / Australian fare, brilliant typical New York Cafe. Great food, reasonable service, well priced and fun.

I am used to Australian flat white expresso which is delish but hard to find in the US. I am so fussy about my coffee, I know. But Ruby's is Australian owned I was told and they do a very good flat white. It was the only place I found so far in the US that made this coveted drop, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Nice cafe, and great location. Really good find for me.

I typically do not like burgers, but these were something special. I had the Bronte. The other food we ordered was excellent as well and this place got me hooked on flat whites.

Food was good - I had a chicken avocado salad. Latte was solid. Ambiance was nice, music a bit loud. Server was kind and attentive. The management and/or hosting is what I have an issue with. There were a couple people/groups ahead of me on the waiting list, and I was told about 15mins (reasonable). All of the sudden two people poke their heads in, name drop a staff member and are given a nice cozy table. I understand favors for friends, I have managed cafes before. But that seemed very disrespectful to guests and made me almost skip the wait. Maybe if I was a friend of the staff I’d give it a 4 or 5.

Super busy spot at lunch. And for very good reason. The food is great. Juicy burger I go back to often. Staff are ... just there. But who cares, right?

Delicious Quinoa salad!!! Charming atmosphere with friendly staff. We enjoyed our lunch while taking a break from exploring the Nolita area.

Walking past, saw what everyone was eating, looked so good that we had dinner here. A great decision! Julian our waiter was very good and nicest young man. We had the best fries with truffle aioli, crunchy Brussel sprouts and pastas...yum! Great presentation, food tasted very good, perfect quantity, price was good and a very nice atmosphere and set up. Highly recommended!

Had a terrific late lunch at this cool little place. Burger and fries were super good, but don’t miss out on the Brussel sprouts. Very nice staff, really enjoyed our lunch.

Small intermite friendly as are many Australasian eaters. Very affordable and an altogether fantastic night out.

OMG (I feel like an excitable teenager right now) Ruby's is unbelievable. What attracted us was its looks and location but the burgers are simply from another planet. I cannot think of another place with tastier burgers (neither in NY nor in the rest of the world). Everything was just perfection: from the sticky buns - just like I like 'em - to the tasty patty and accoutrements, to the service, and restaurant design... This is a restaurant I will be forever recommend.

Ruby’s website promises Aussie style coffee but fails to mention their coffee machine is turned off @6pm. Not impressed.

After waiting for around 45 minutes we got a table in this tiny little restaurant/cafe. But the wait was worthy! We got the pesto pasta and the shrimp pasta, both gluten-free, which were delicious!!!

It's very hard to write this review, because as much as I absolutely LOVE the ambience and the food, the service in this restaurant is unacceptable. I've been to the restaurant three times over the last month and each and every time the service is far from what you expect at such a place. The hostess is not friendly at all. She greeted us with dismay and was not polite in any manner. The wait time was over 1h, so the hostess instructed us to sit next door and order some coffee (as the place belongs to the restaurant). After half an hour of waiting, the hostess came over and said that we could not all sit together in the table we were sitting, since it was a table for two and we were in five people (this, given the fact that we presented as a group of five since the begging and were informed by the very hostess that we should get a table in the cafe). Once we were moved to another table, the bad service continued. They brought over only 2 cups of water for a table of 6, and only brought the other 4 cups after we asked - which was a good 1 hour after we were sat. Then, halfway into our lunch, they said they needed to take one of our chairs, because the restaurant was at full capacity. I'm only writing this review because I really do think that management needs to review their employees' manners. Both of the hostesses who receptioned me the 3 times I've been to Ruby's this month were beyond rude and made the whole experience a very annoying one.

This is a small place and the tables are quite close to each other. They have a limited menu if few pastas, salads, sandwiches and burgers. The food was quite bland. The portions were small and overpriced considering the quality. The service was OK but not really outstanding.

We stumbled into Ruby’s when the wait at Rubirosa proved daunting. And thank goodness! We had the quinoa bowl as a starter and nearly decided to order it again to go with our mains. Somehow in the depth of fall the chef found fresh watermelon to include in this tangy, crunchy, tasty, treat. Delicious! For mains I had the Spicy Italian Sausage and it lived up to its name while my son went for the Lamb Ragu. I had to resist the urge to eat more of his. But the treat of the night was my wife’s Bronte Burger - which fortunately was too large for her girlish figure. I gladly finished it off for her. This burger is better than the fare at The Burger Joint and it is paired with fries that are out of this world crispy! If the mains are good I always go for desert and I’m glad I did! The simple chocolate cake was sumptuous. And here’s the best part - we walked out of the place for under $75. Not bad for an appetizer, mains and desert in the heart of the village. We’ll be back!

Tried this out for dinner on a weeknight while in the area. Assumed it was good as it seemed pretty crowded. Wouldn't say I was disappointed in the burger I ate but it wasn't something that would bring me back. Decent food for the price and nice vibrant ambiance made for a nice meal.

I think that's ok to wait 30 minutes to dine at Ruby's as the food is great and fast while the staff is friendly. I ordered truffle fries that were delicious, a great chicken pasta and my sisters share a pasta and a fried chicken. All great.

The guys at this place are Aussie boys and they bring all the charm of an Aussie cafe with the NYC style. Fantastic blend of good coffee, food and a splash of vegemite toast!

"No reservation" excellent food from down under, didn't wait for to long on a weekend, a must when in SoHo....

Restaurants come and go, menus change daily - but not this spot! I've been coming to this hole in the wall since 2006 and it's still one of my favorite places to eat in the city. They've renovated since then and have more space, but it's still the same restaurant. Friendly staff and excellent food.

Would highly recommend eating at Ruby's cafe. I have eaten here a few times & the food is always amazing. Best coffee in SOHO. Great service & vibe.

Okay heres the thing. The frozen passion fruit marg was the star of the show. I loved the kale salad it has a lil kick to it. It was hot as hell tho which was a bummer. They allowed dogs inside tho so >>

I came in expecting a nice snack and what I got was a great egg sandwich, good coffee and a very good sticky date dessert. The staff is helpful and fast and the prices are acceptable for the quality of food.

Looking for somewhere to dine in New York can be a tad difficult as many places are rammed full from 6pm with a long wait time so getting into Ruby's was handy. Both meals we had were very tasty and sufficiently portioned, lamb ragu and rag bol (with courgette and aubergine). Reasonably priced for New York.

Visiting NY again, so we hopped to Ruby's. Mainly young clientele, but we were not expelled... Wufe had pasta with shrimps, I had a hamburger. I was surprised that it did not come with a ban, rather what they called giabetta. I voiced my surprise to the young waitress who suggested I wrote a terrible review on the cafe. Well, apart from this stupid suggestion I have no complaints. Food was delicious and the place definitely rocks. We will come back again for sure. Recommended!

We picked this place for location and Breakfast menu. The food was very good. The service below par and no coffee refills. The coffee also not good and well below MacDonalds. Overall a little disappointing.

We stayed down the road to Ruby's for a week and ate here nearly every day for brunch. The cafe is only very small and gets very busy. However the staff are very friend, welcoming and efficient (and cute). From the bacon and eggs, Vegemite toast to the burgers and pastas the food was delicious. Good size portions, fresh and tasty. Highly recommend Ruby's for a casual meal with great service without attitude.

We had breakfast here one morning. We all really liked this place - the food is delicious and it looked cozy! I really recommend their avocado toast and chia muesli , they were so good! The staff is also very polite and kind. The only minus was that during our visit, there was a smell of a sewer. It wasn't the worst thing ever, but made the experience a little bit more unpleasant. Still, I recommend this place to everyone :)

A friend recommended this place and I ended up coming here twice. Had the GF pesto pasta the first time which was fresh and tasty. Had to come back a second time for vegemite toast (can take the girl out of Australia). Cool vibe, had a bit of a wait for dinner though (15-20 mins).

Really nice cafe in Soho with great service. The coffee was really good and so was the food, though the portion could have been slightly bigger for the price.

Loved Ruby's... Great location, good energy inside the restaurant, and the food was solid. Ruby's is small, and they cram you in a bit. But it has a charming feel to it, and the service is friendly. The SoHo location is really nice with the tree-lined streets and many boutiques. It's definitely a "NYC vibe" inside. As for the food, my cheeseburger was delicious and cooked fresh. The brussel sprouts were very rich, but still good. Price-wise, very reasonable, especially for Manhattan. Would definitely come here again.

We went to Ruby's for lunch and they were full at the time. The lady asked us to give her our mobile number and would call when the taqble became free. We went to the locar bar and 15 minutes later we were in. We all had burgers and the 2 options of sweet potato and potato fries. I had the cheeseburger and it was awesome. The special sauce was just like the Big Mac sauce and I added bacon. The service was quick and the ladies were very friendly. If you are in the area do yourself a favour and have a meal there, you will not be disappointed.

Went to Ruby's for lunch and was happy to be there. It's a small space, but the cleanliness makes it nice and cozy as well as the decor. I liked the variety of choices on the menu and the service we got this day was pleasant and friendly. They serve wine too!

Firstly, this place is great, all the food tasted super fresh and we came back a second time as we enjoyed it. Had breakfast on a Saturday and a Monday. Queue on Sat, none on Monday but still busy. Order got mixed up both times but they rectified it both times after chasing a few times (unfortunately meant we never got to eat at the same time). Everything here comes with garnishes or extra pieces not on the menu which is good to know (chives, cinnamon, parsley, lemon etc) if you don’t like some of that stuff you should ask if there is anything else not listed on the menu. It’s Australian and the pics in the loo are great! Heard staff describing vegemite to customers as ‘I haven’t tried it but it’s like soy sauce’. You should really try it! Coffee is excellent. Halloumi is yum. Would def come back.

As an Aussie visiting New York I was in need of a decent espresso coffee. Ruby’s did not disappoint it’s the best coffee and breakfast I’ve had in NY! I had the corn cakes with an extra side of mushrooms and it was delicious. The flat white coffee was so good I had a second just for the experience. A must visit whilst in NY and worth the wait to nab a table.

this is a great place to have breakfast, brunch, coffee or whatever. They have an espresso machine and know how to use it. The Staff are friendly and always a clean place.

Down in the hustle and bustle north of Little Italy is simple café that just packs them in. Starting bright and early in the morning, there are already people awaiting their table. The recently double their space and there is still a line (50 seats). While they serve breakfast, I have only eaten lunch. One page menu and reasonable prices. My favorite, the American Cheeseburger – two tasty patties on a fresh bud with a special sauce. The kitchen might be small, but they know how to get the food out in a hurry. Don’t let the line stop you, they know how to get people in and out.

THEY GIVE FREE CHOCOLATE CAKE WHEN U SAY ITS UR BDAY also this one server was sucha cutie cuz she gave us free cake but BRO she was lowk judgmental cuz we were taking pictures. anyways i wanna be PM of India soon so forget i ever wrote this. they serve underage alc too (all the youngies pls come here!!)

Great food and ambiance. The burger I ordered was on a ciabatta bread and it was really delicious with the beets and the fried egg. The bottom bun actually slipped off somehow and was slanted on one half of my burger (see image). The staff was friendly but due to how busy it was once they took our order we barely saw them especially since we were sitting outside. It took a very long time to find one of the servers for the dessert menu, and we couldn’t really find them again for awhile to ask for the check.

Traveling from Australia, and being in America for 3 weeks, I was excited about finally getting a good long black and feeling at home in an cafe run by Aussies. Nothing visually Aussie about the cafe, all American staff, a pretty like warm welcome, long black was more like an Americano with no crema, good banana bread ($7.50) a little disappointing scrambled eggs, ($8.00) - I never know what to do with raw spinach?? , a non existent farewell. I had researched this cafe before I came and was excited to take my family there, so I guess I left feeling underwhelmed. Would I go back or recommend on our experience? Definitely not - I hate that I can’t leave a glowing review to support fellow Australians in New York. looking at the other reviews, maybe lunch or dinner would have been better.

Stopped in for breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning. Food was amazing - the granola was epic! Only downside was that the tables were a bit squashed in so we were almost sitting on the lap of the person next to us.

The place is tiny, and you may have to wait - but it is well worth it. The Bronte burger was excellent, great taste and original (on a firm ciabatta-like bread that does not flatten to nothing when moist). Quality meat, cooked to perfection, very tasty.

Lovely food but very arrogant service...I have been coming here for a few days in a row--when I made a comment about the food not ebing up to speed one of the ladies gave me a lecture about how great their food was and this was the way they did it...same happened with he coffee...when I complained they told me how amazing and expensive their coffee was and she turned her back leaving me to talk on my own...very arrogant indeed...employees laughing at customers behind their back is not cool. We saw some of that..

Thought it was just another pasta place, had a nice surprise. We ordered creamy chicken pasta and crab linguine. Both were very tasty and had nice flavour. Wine was so so but didnt stop me from trying their chocolate cake. If you like death by chocolate, you will like this one too. Place was a bit crampy but friendly service. Will visit again.

Am visiting from Australia and some friends who live locally recommended this cafe. Seated straight away & the best coffee Ive had since starting my trip. A taste of home 😎

After A few great days in this ripper city , We stopped outside Rubys in Mulberry street , this was no coincidence we now found our coffee we needed in this town . With my better half needing a good almond latte Just like home ,(Australia)The latte and espresso hit the spot . Jamie and his staff made our pit stop feel welcome . Great atmosphere and surely to return when back in NY . See you in Melbourne some time . Go Pies 😉

Great food, fast service and cool environment: a great positive surprise, for a very simple and tiny place. Must have the Bronte burger with fries

My daughter and I had a long day walking so we stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. It's not a fancy place, shared table seating but the staff was very friendly and the cheeseburgers were delicious!

It was supeeeeeer tasty. After first bite of burger and than sweet potato french fries, thought that I`m in heaven. Service was nice and fast. You should try it!

Very nice little place Ruby's - good food and very very service minded staff. When I come back to NY in May I will for sure visit again.

Warm and friendly atmosphere, delicious food, impeccable and smiling service. Excellent value for money for New York. A must-visit spot!

Food is good, but staff extremely rude. The only thing they care is to kick you out quickly in order to gain more money.I wouldn’t go there again.

We went there for lunch. We had to wait 45 minutes until we get a table. After that we waited our 45 minutes to get our food. This was a really long waiting time. The waiter did not apologize and totally forgot our order. But the food is really good and delicious. We recommend to train better employees in order that they can handle better with this situations. But we recommend this small restaurant!

Very Nice restaurant. Very good italian food. Our pasta were excellent. We recommand strongly This place. We really enjoy our meal.

We came across this little cafe when strolling the streets of Nolita. It was so good we visited there twice. On our first visit we had great pastas and on our second - burgers. Very tasty, very friendly atmosphere, we really liked the place!

We ate breakfast and dinner a few times - could not fault anything. Not fine dining but its what we wanted. Staff were casually efficient - typical Aussies. Very popular little place, well worth the effort to get there.

My wife and I went to Little Italy to stroll through the feasts of San Gennaro. We came across Ruby's by pure accident , and we were so glad we did. Aussie waiter from torquay in Victoria was grouse!! Vegemite was bonza and the music was sick!!! Keep up the good work Ruby's Worth a visit inLittle Italy

Highly recommend this place if you’re in the neighbourhood. Coffee is first class and food is delicious.

Clean restaurant and kind staffs. The food we ordered were pasta and burger. All of them were delicious. You won't regret !

Great little spot, very busy so don’t go if you’re in a rush. Love the big open doors and atmosphere. Food was great, will definitely be back

Super cool place. Great for breakfast and lunch. Eggs, toast, banana loaf, granola, sandwiches, salads and pasta all very tasty. Good music too. Service is very attentive. Not cheap. No wifi

The food was very good which is why it pains me to write this, but… terrible customer service with very arrogant people. The waitresses are impolite and rude, their concept of hospitality clearly needs to be revisited. I would suggest the owner to look over his staff a bit more.

Excellent good and service, the cheese burger was delicious and the fries really nice. The outdoor seating was ideal as it was a warm evening. Highly recommend

This little place was recommended to me before we left Melbourne, and it lived up to the recommendation. Had a light breakfast which was good, Vegemite on toast of course, and a coffee that reminded me of home!

I really loved their banana bread with lemon cream !! and an pineapple juice with mint !! gorgeous ! very fresh & healthy !

- Forgot half my order (that part I could forgive though) - Took like 20 min to eat one avocado toast. I’m not sure if the crust was just too hard to cut or if the knife was just bad (also that I could forgive) - But then they went ahead and took away our only half finished bowl of fries without asking if we were finished (and no we weren’t) but they ran away so quick that we couldn’t even tell them we weren’t finished. Wouldnt recommend going there

Stumbled across this tiny little treasure when looking for Brunch in Down town Manhattan and what a find it is! The best coffee I had whilst staying in New York, ambiance was great - staff serving style casual yet professional and the food was delicious. Fresh ingredients and full of flavour! If I was a local I'd be there every day! Thank you!

Little Ruby is our go to place in the West Village. Our favorites are the pasta ala vodka and cheeseburger. Also like the breakfast burrito and fries. It’s a small space, with a cool, casual vibe. It can be a little loud and tough to have a conversation.

It was abit crowded however worth to wait. very nice food (pasta) and service. very helpful staff. very nice place for a stop.

We came here on Friday night needing a table for seven – quite a feat given the small size of the place – and the staff was perfectly lovely in accommodating us. We ordered burgers, which we had heard so much about, and they were not only the perfect size but cooked to perfection. Truffle aioli and brussels sprouts were also really good. Just a nice, no-reservation dinner in a busy area.

I stopped in for a quick breakfast, the food was great and my server (Sabina) was terrific Hot coffee and Green eggs and a side of bacon..yummy

We came here after a recommendation and it lived up to our expectations generous sized meals, great coffee and nice staff. Would 110% go back.

Came here for the burgers and they did not disappoint. Had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries which had sour cream and spring onion onit (nice touch) very fresh. Partner had gluten free burger which went down a treat. Great service and vibe. All round really good food and service.

My first time here and it was so delicious. The waiter didn't really come up to us much but that didnt bother . The food was so good! Came here with a friend to catch up and the food was really really tasty. I ordered a fried chicken burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was really big and a bit messy but flavor was good. My friend got shrimp spaghetti with a side of french fries. The french fries were delicious and crispy and the shimps in the pasta were plump. Hope my visit again is as good as my first one.

This vibey hole in the all is well worth a visit . We had the basil lemonade and delish corn fritters with avocado . My husband had the burger . Good food, good service, good times.

Went there the other day for a late breakfast. Had an egg sandwich and the granola. The sandwich was good but the granola was to die for. So if your up for a tasty breakfast Then this is a good option. The only negative was it was a bit pricy.

My husband and I loved our breakfast here I had B L A on toast and my husband had the corn cakes it was one of the best breakfasts we had in New York. They did get my breakfast order wrong but quickly sorted the mistake

We had three salads here - all were special and very good. They also have pasta and burgers which looked good.

The Restaurant is small and you cant book a table. However, there is a quick turn around and no one seemed to wait long for a table. We had burgers and a salad, The portion are good and then you can add any extra that you fancy -Fries etc. The food was good and the service was friendly. For a quick fast food meal cant fault it

Had breakfast here and was delightfully surprised. It's a cute spot with creative presentation and tasty fresh ingredients. My dish had a side salad with watermelon radish that was fun. We liked walking around this neighborhood too and would definitely go back.

The food here is great but the staff are the real stars here. Was served by a tall dark and handsome man with piercing blue eyes. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. He was well deserving of the hefty tip we left.

Four of us were staying in NYC for a week so we decided to try out Ruby's for breakfast. We each ordered something different and shared it all. Everything was fresh and DELISH! It is quite a popular place so get there right when it opens if you can. Highly recommend!

I loved this place. A warm Aussie hello followed by coffee and a food menu that takes me straight back to my cafés in Bondi Junction and Paddington. It seems that im not the only one who agrees there was a 30 minute wait for a table and a line up that didn't let up until well into the late afternoon. Great Cappuccino and the winter breakfast bowl a definate hit. All of the menu though looked very tasty. Love you guys! I'll definately be back.

Just happen to find this place up the street from our hotel. The restaurant looks like it's in what used to be a garage. Cute, small place with a great menu full of healthy choices. My friend had the museli which she said was filling. I just simply had eggs but they were good. Service was quick and friendly. Small place so it gets packed quick, there was a wait by the time we left. I think the business is owned y Australians there was Vegemite on the menu lol.

I took a chicken avocado salad with extra bacon and a glass of Sauvignon blanc. The wine was served in a small tumbler - very cute! Fast service and good music. Chill vibe.

As an Australian I'd heard about this place so had to visit! It really is a hole in the wall cafe but manages to handle the crowd & meal service very well. It is a casual bistro vibe, heaving with people and a a queue. We went for lunch, cheekily with baby in tow, and after a 15 minute wait got a table. The Australian at front assisted us all the way and our waiter David? was excellent! The food was just perfect for lunch amidst a busy Soho shopping trip. We had the Shrimp Salad, fresh, tasty, the Quinoa Bowl with Smoked Salmon, also good but maybe a little dry, needed a little more dressing, the sweet potato fries and the gorgeous beefy Bronte burger. People around us were eating as though they had been on a diet for a month! Coffee was also great Aussi brew (maybe I'm biased)! Thoroughly recommend for tasty healthy & very fresh food.

The cafe already had me cause it's an Australian establishment succeeding in The Big Apple (respect), but once seated and settled in, the cracks showed. The service isn't poor, but it has a long way to go. The menu was simple and not overly memorable but the coffee was amazing. Overall it was a nice experience, but there is room for improvement.

One of the best restaurants in NY. Absolutely delicious food-salmon, steak, everything! Amazing service-Zacharie the best server!

I had a creamy chicken pasta and it was super tasty. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Burgers looked really good too!

We love going to this small eatery in Soho. They have typical australia fare which we love. It's nice to have a bit of home when you're abroad. They do vegemite on toast and most Aussie favourites. We find the staff always friendly and accommodating. Yes its tiny and yes there are mostly people waiting or lining up, but not always! It's worth the wait in any case. It is a little cramped, especially in winter with coats and bags everywhere but it's New York baby - part of the experience. The quality of the food is second to none and the staff are great. We will always keep going back to this little gem...plus my nieces name in Ruby too. hehehe.

A young crowd, but very welcoming to these two AARP-eligible tourists. And yes, at least one of the staff had an engaging Aussie accent. We had the Crispy Rice Bowl and the Whaley Burger. Great mouth feel and spices and herbs in the Rice Bowl, and the haloumi added a novel tasty touch. The Whaley Burger impressed with the top-notch ingredients and the use of French bread as a bun. (The meat patty was a little small, but that may have been an optical effect because of the bread and generous other ingredients.)

Went there to have breakfast, they hardly had any room, which is what usually happens in these high rated restaurants. I had the breakfast sandwich and added some bacon to it. Awesome!!!

It was good food at a good price. As a person who loves pasta, the shrimp spaghetti was good but not the best. Truffle fries with the aioli sauce was amazing though. Also a cute little restaurant.

This place is terrible the customer service sucks!!! They will ignore you if you do not look like them we have no place for behaviour like that in nyc

A small and busy restaurant in Nolita. Went here for lunch but didn't have to wait too long for a table. We had a burger, vegetarian burger and chicken pasta and we were all very satisfied with our dishes. The burgers (both vegetarian as well as original) were among the best we tasted during our stay in N.Y (and there were a lot!) Highly recommended!

Simply excellent. :) Would highly recommend the pancakes that are just to die for more. Would come back everyday if possible.

We went to this restaurant a few times for both breakfast and lunch. It is owned by Australians and has the casual friendliness and fun atmosphere that you would expect. The breakfast menu is different to most NYC breakfast places and is very good. The prices are reasonable. The staff are generally from Australia and enjoy what they are doing, very friendly and chatty. If you're in the Soho/Nolita area go for breakfast, you won't be disappointed.

Good burgers, but the personnel is too impolite. They care only for the profit. They behave rude to the customers. Don’t go!
Busy, hectic place, excellent food, less friendly service
Busy hectic place, loud music, good food but service not too good. We were not said hello because they were probably not happy with the amount of the tip.
