The staff very unpleasant, the place very large but people go just to try the sandwich and leave so it is difficult to take place because they stay watching as locusts come out. What is the sandwich is rich but it would not give you so much boom!! As you've been given

Lobster Place is a good restaurant. The lobster roll is fresh and flavorful. Service is quick, though seating is limited. Fair prices for top-quality seafood

Treat myself and clients to dinner there at lunch hours, not many people cut out for this line of work but these oysters go down a storm!

Lobster roll was average, lobster bisque was very poor. There was no lobster in the soup. Very disappointed.

Really loved the lobster roll there, though at $24 for a small roll, on the higher side. That being said, it was so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend going there and give it a try!

$13 for 6 good sized pieces of salmon sashimi isn't cheap, when you are on a tiny shelf surrounded by people, but it's NYC and rents are high and other options are more expensive. It was very good sashimi, though

What a terrific seafood store and restaurant in Chelsea Market. The raw oysters at the Raw Bar were delicious. You can buy fresh steamed lobster to eat on site or take home. Also, the fresh seafood available gives you plenty to choose from for cooking at home. And, of course, there is beer and wine available as well. Terrific store!

We had an early lunch at the sushi bar. There aren’t a lot of tables, and when we left around 12:45, there was a huge line. I got the tasting menu for only $25. It was a perfect light lunch. The sushi is fantastic.

Great crab roll!! This place is full of seafood options, and everything looks fresh. You order and then called to take your order.

We love bcp chelsea market for the atmosphere the place itself atypical old biscuit factory. Feast at the lobster place sushi lobster of an extreme freshness of lobster rolls and excellent manhattan showder. Find a place not obvious and still report the exorbitant prices for the last two years but good 90 dollars for two but we feasted.

Can’t believe I’m only reviewing now after so many visits. Fabulous sea food at tourist prices ie expensive, that apart the quality is excellent.

First time we’d had whole lobster, absolutely delicious, and make sure you get the lobster rice too, so yummy... wish I didn’t live the r side of the ocean, I’m dreaming about it!! Mmmmm

This is the place for super fresh raw oysters. There are varieties to choose with instructions of specific species one is looking for. If we didn’t have lunch before running into this place, we would definitely choose this place for lunch to try their seafood.

Looked forward to a lobster roll but was disappointed. Plenty of lobster meat but little taste. Usually I think of almost a salty sweet taste but this just had a good texture without any flavor. Nice Chelsea Market location and friendly staff. The Sushi and Oyster section looked fabulous.

Very tasty lobster roll with caviar. Fresh ingredients and an excellent bun to top it off. Chips could be a little better. Food arrived very quickly

We only had a light lunch with a few oysters each and a sea-urchin to share. All was super fresh and delicious! The sea urchin was American and quite (very) big, much bigger than any we had before (which were from Iceland, Japan, Polynesia etc). This American one was good, but quite rough in the texture, and quite bitter as well - compared to the others. However, still delicious.

We went for oysters. There were app 10 different to select from at a price around 3 usd. The billboard has a very good explanation of flavours. The only minus is that wine is in a plastic cup, else it would have been 5 stars.

Fantastic place for lunch or dinner or to just buy fresh fish. They have a raw bar, a sushi bar, a live lobster bar. Just look at my pics. But we had some from the raw bar and the sushi bar and it was out of this world great.

Lobster, shrimp, crabs and Co. The Lobster with butter is deliciuos and You can choose the size of your hungry (or wallet). It's worth for sure. Located in the Chelsea Market.... go with expectations... it's worth !!!

Good quick lunch with my wife before heading to Penn Station. My wife got the lobster roll and I got the Salmon Burgers spicy. Not a lot of seating in there but for a quick bite that you don't mind standing to eat, it won't disappoint.

Located in one of the most popular Chelsea Market venues. Great lobster sandwich, price a bit high but worth it.

We wanted to visit Chelsea Market and were blown away by the lobster roll. We would highly recommend. The rest of the food looked great and seating arrangement/ decor add to the experience.

Got lobster roll, lobster bisque and lobster mac cheese. Soup was ok, roll is very small and nothing special, luke s lobster serve better rolls for same price. Mac cheese was average not too taste. Nothing to go crazy about

I have been in NY quite a few times but always for work, so mostly all the time in a hurry and rushing out. . This time was vacation all the way and finally we had the time to discover this hidden jewel in Chelsea Market. Best lobster ever!!!! We had one each and were close to get a 2nd one or at least to come back next day! Yummy! Definitely will be my must stop when I go back to the city.

As per the title. Delicious sandwich. Not huge, but fairly priced. Nice IPA as a side. Service was friendly and efficient.

If you love shellfish you can't miss Lobster Place at Chelsea Market. The lobsters are served steamed and you can accompany them with butter and/or lemon to your liking. It will be a feast for your taste buds. Highly recommended!

What a gorgeous selection of pristine quality seafood and bi-valves and fair value too. Place can get pretty busy and noisy. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and management. We went bonkers and went on a bivalves rampage! Ordered at least 5 dozens of Cherry stone Clams, 2 dozens of oysters, Little neck Clams, Jonas Stone-Crab Claws, Diver's Scallops Crudo and the ' Creme de la Creme ' Wild California Santa-Barbara Uni!! I think our order made our two oyster shuckers hopping mad!!😝 Of the 8 different East Coast Oysters varietals tried....Glidden Point, Mere Point, Sunken Meadow, Willow's hole.....etc. 'INDIGO' was our favorite stand-out! Creamy and sweet and not overly salty. Absolutely delightful!!

We were here on a Sunday morning before leaving for the airport. I saw the Lobster Place and decided that it sounded good. Wow, did I ever make the right choice. I devoured the first one. Thankfully, my wife wanted to try "just a bite", so I went back for a second. I would definitely like to go back.

Very nice atmosphere and rather pleasant staff Very good but very expensive lobsters. Too expensive Very good sushi It is worth eating there but it is a bit of a tourist catch. Awards are really too high

When you come to Chelsea Market, you must eat at The Lobster Place in New York. The Lobster Place Seafood Market was established in 1974, next to the pool in the middle of Chelsea Market Positioned as a seafood market, with affordable prices and valet cooking, it is also one of the must-try restaurants for New York tourists. Maine Lobster Burger, the slightly sour and slightly salty umami taste is so special and refreshing. Boiled lobster has been processed, so it is very convenient to eat. The shrimp meat is firm and tender, and it is delicious without seasoning.

If you want a casual lobster place, come here. Quite touristy but the lobster is fresh enough. Good selection of beers too.

A must visit for any seafood lover! Located among other shops in the Chelsea market. Great selection of raw seafood. Lobsters, fish, sashimis, oysters..

Tried the lobster and macaroni and lobster fried rice. Just enough for a late lunch. Have many soups, salads, and sushi. Worth the trip.

Mandatory stop in New York and Chealsea Market. All delicious, but be careful not to go out too light on your credit card! The lobster roll is delicious at a fair price. You absolutely must try

Not very fan to spend that much to eat standing in a very crowded place, but the lobster roll really worths it

What's that old line? I am on a seafood diet. I see food, and I eat it. It's hard not to see anything here and not want to eat it. It's a bit on the spendy side, but it's Chelsea Market and everything here is on the high priced side. However, this place is one of the premium places to go if your a seafood fanatic.

Even this experience absolutely approved. I was a bit hesitant before trying it but I highly recommend everyone to try the famous lobster roll at least once.

We come here twice a year and love the decorations of Chelsea Market. This place has GREAT soup and the freshest fish!

We stopped here to eat lunch and ordered a whole lobster with bay fries. It will not fill you up, but the lobster is fresh and delicious. The fries were salty and seasoned with Old Bay seasoning. Will come here again for sure.

Chelsea market is a very interesting (not only) food market (offers also "other shops"). The Lobster place is great! We enjoyed the steamed lobster served with melted butter, New England clam chowder and kind of "fish sandwich" .... and the highlight was the lobster roll!!! A crispy, hot, toasted! "brioche" bread roll filled with plenty of tasty lobster pieces! Wow! Service was very friendly, fast and competent! (for example the young man at the counter told me to have New England clam chowder which is creamy etc with my lobster roll instead of the Manhatten version of clam chowder which would be with tomatoe sauce...) Recommend the Lobster Place!!! (it is not a real restaurant, but serves delicious fresh food at Chelsea market). Value for money!

Perfect lobster shop. You can choose from grilled boiled lobster but also very nice lobster sandwiches. The combo box good choice to accompany it with soup which was excellent.

This is my second trip to The Lobster Place within the last five years and I enjoyed it just as much this time as the last. The food is fresh, staff friendly and knowledgeable and it is quick. We went on a busy afternoon in the summer and seating seemed limited at first and the restaurant overall busy. We initially thought we would need to look for another place to eat, but I decided to circle the restaurant to check it out. The line seemed long to order, and I noticed people getting up to leave here and there. I had a party of four and decided to grab two seats and hope two more would open up. I noticed the line went fairly quickly and noticed it had a pretty quick turn over (at the tables). I noticed the oyster/ shell bar seating didn't turn over as fast. We ended up ordering and staying, enjoying our food. The clam chowder was delicious, the raw oysters super fresh. I love Chelsea Market and I am sure I will end up here again! Try it!

The Lobster Place is not your typical restaurant... it’s like an eatery... you can sit at the sushi bar and get an amazing sushi dinner but most of the place is like a take out place with bar-like tables to eat. I can’t speak to the lobster or the oysters as I sat at the sushi bar. The Salmon belly roll is one of the best rolls I’ve ever had! It was the Freshest salmon, seared (aburi style) with a large portion of salmon roe on top and the creamiest avocado inside. Delicious! To find this place go into Chelsea Market and keep walking to the back of the main floor. For a pure food experience it was great! And the service matched!

Phenomenal snack if you're in Chelsea Market or the surrounding area. It's all about the clam chowder. It comes in three sizes, each at a really reasonable price. Always fresh and delicious. We had the "Manhattan Style" and the "New England Style", both excellent, although the former is prepared more creamily. Always happy to have a snack here.

VERY NICE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT. LOCATED IN THE CHELSEA STOCA. YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO EAT AND THEY BAKE AND PREPARE IT IN FRONT OF YOU AT THE OPEN BAR. YOU CHOOSE LOBSTER CRAB SHRIMP SHELLS AND OTHER SEAFOOD. THE PRICES ARE RELATIVELY GOOD FOR NEW YORK.

Sushi was so fresh. Need to go back to get lobster. Was made right in front of us and was so enjoyable.

Located in Chelsea Market in Manhattan, iconic restaurant offering oysters, sushi and the very famous American Lobster, served with what they call “melted butter”. Tasted for the first time, the lobster wasn't bad at all. The price is very high for what is actually offered. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We really wanted to try the main lobster roll and were pretty disappointed. For $23 you get a long roll with little lobster but a lot of mayonnaise.

Lobster Place is a highly recommended Asian food spot at Chelsea Market. Its food is fresh and rich, the bar service is agile and you see how sushi is prepared in front of your eyes. The service is very good, reasonable prices for the place.

At Lobster Place, located in Chelsea Market, I had delicious lobster for lunch. What's not attractive, like almost nothing else in New York, is the price. It is a very expensive city.

Inside the Chelsea market there are multiple restaurants including the Lobster Place. A fairly large restaurant divided into a first part where oysters and Japanese or raw food are also served at the counter and a final part essentially dedicated to lobster. $23 for a lobster sandwich which, although it doesn't appear very large, is actually adequately filling. The taste was excellent and the sandwich was definitely full. I don't recommend taking the $28 plate which includes a kind of cheese soup and chips. in fact the chips are a simple bag of rather useless industrial ones. Personally I found everything well presented in a unique atmosphere and I therefore recommend a stop to taste the lobster

Visited Chelsea Markets and had to try the Lobster Bisque from The Lobster Place. Smooth, creamy and lobsterly delicious. Also had King Crab & Corn Chowder, New England Clam Chowder and Manhattan Clam Chowder, fresh and hot 😋 Plenty of great seafood to choose from and the whole lobster meals looked fantastic. Enjoy your ocean treats fresh or cooked on the premises. Plenty of convenient seating and they’re licensed as well.

A self-service vehicle, but I assure you that both the sandwich and the lobster were excellent. 1 kg of lobster at 79USD. Lively and promiscuous environment.

We got a cup of soup to start. My husband for a lobster roll. It was very small but very good. I got the the seafood sliders which turned out to be a lot of food. The crab salad, shrimp salad and lobster salad were all very good. The restaurant features big top tables for standing only. We wanted to sit so we took our food to go and found a spot to sit in the market. I'd go back.

I went here because I saw on the internet that you can eat lobster cheaply. I haven't been to other restaurants so I don't know if it's cheap or expensive for lobster dishes, but it's quite expensive. I thought it was lobster, but it was full of mussels, other shellfish, potatoes, etc. and the taste was delicious and I was very satisfied. They have fish, sushi, etc., so you can eat seafood in general.

Absolutely delicious and fresh sea food. Great food and service. We tried the Sushi and lobster roll. Must go there and try!

Fantastic food experience. The lobsters were delicious and the environment of the restaurant was great. We had an excellence experience there.

Slightly mystifying restaurant serving very good seafood in a hideously uncomfortable environment. Your best bet here is the lobster roll deal (roll, soup & crisps) but get it to go! I had the lobster which was very good & fresh if a little bland. Seating is industrial stools & titanium benches while people elbow you queuing up to get their food. The local McDonalds is more welcoming. I enjoyed it but but sure I’d ever sit in again. It’s very expensive for an uncomfortable experience

Very tasty lobster roll. You can get whole lobsters. Simple, you sit at standing tables. Very busy, but very good

Follow up review to one I wrote in May in which I had a steamed lobster and gave a 4-star review. My wife and I had the large lobster rolls on Friday night. We both agreed it was one of the best lobster rolls we ever had. Ordering and receiving our orders was fast and easy. Highly recommend!

Stumbled along this little place on walking back to hotel we had a prosecco and a beer and a lobster roll the taste was amazing and we just sat enjoying the views listening to the music , we sat outside so was a bell for service e but the guy was friendly , excellent food

Fresh seafood was delicious but unfortunately my son tried to order plain cucumber maki rolls at the counter and the chef refused saying they must have avocado in.

This is a go to spot for seafood in Chelsea. They revamped and added space last year. I think it’s gotten a bit slacking in quality. The shrimp this time weren’t very good. Oysters were still solid.

This place is very big, different areas. You can eat in or take out. Some food is already prepared. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was good, as was the salmon and tuna sushi and the seaweed and edamame. As well, took out 2 salads from the back and brought a piece of dorade to cook. Have to try the lobster next time!!

Visited on Nov/December 2019. Amazing choice of seafood, slightly pricey but worth it for any seafood enthusiast.

Excellent service food and atmosphere! I had the lobster roll, on the small side but excellent. Store opens at 10, but galley opens at 11 am. I also took home a 11/2lb cooked lobster which was packed nicely.

Please, if you like sushi you can’t miss visiting this place. This is definitely the best sushi I’ve ever eaten in my life (and I’ve been to Japan too!). Super high quality fish, try the fatty tuna sashimi and the chiraschi... You will not regret it.

My husband and I loved our experience at this restaurant in Chelsea Market. We both had a delicious lobster roll and New England Clam Chowder---didn't leave a crumb on the plate. The meal included the lobster roll, choice of soup and chips. It's a busy restaurant with lots going on. We were there on a Sunday and it was rather crowded, but there wasn't a line or any problem finding seating. There's a little bit of every kind of seafood to your liking. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny!

First time stopping by the for the raw bar Ceasar is vey helpful and kind. Alex did a wonderful job shucking our oysters and it was a great experience. Try the bay sweet if available when you come to this spot.

Wonderful place to visit. Good food. Especially the sushi tastes well. Service is clearly below par. They are just taking away dishes and clean and pay no attention to customers.

Like most places in Chelsea Market, this restaurant was crowded. For lovers of seafood, and especially oysters ($3.50 each), it's the place to go. I ate something quick: small clam chowder ($6.50) with coleslaw ($4.00) and a glass of white wine ($11). The value for money is not ideal. There are cheaper options with fewer people on the lower level of the market.

Prices have gone up but the lobster rolls can’t be beat with fresh lobster chunks! 4oz is $28 and 6oz is $38. Buy the combo that comes with a small clam chowder for a $1 saving and a bag of chips.

Is correct what they describe: a unique experiencie… The worst octopuss that I have never eaten…terrible…a hard chuing gum… We asked olso a Mencia -spanish wine- terrible too… I so a lot of good comments about this place…but it was no my case. I never return

Went there for lunch yesterday and it was phenomenal! The lobster roll are not cheap, but so freaking tasty, fresh, and delicious! The clam chowder was also very good. A must do while in NYC!

Went for a walk at Highline Park and it was a breeze. Weather was at 21C and not to crowded at the moment. Felt hungry and we went to Chelsea market for our lunch. Went to Lobster Place and had sushi, sashimi and some ebj tempura. Food was served in a few minutes but the quality of food is outstanding. It’s so fresh and made infront of your eyes. Staff was friendly. Place to visit when in Highline Park

Very nice place in the already charming Chelsea Market. The delicious lobster sandwich and fast and effective staff attention. All right.

I’ve passed by this place so many times and finally stopped in with some friends. We ordered the scallops with yuzu, toro don with a side of Hokkaido uni, unagi don, spicy lobster roll, some oysters and the snow maiden sake. Wow everything here was super fresh. We loved the scallops, toro and the unagi. The fish was really buttery and their soy sauce hit differently as well. Prices here are reasonable. Expect to spend around $20 per entree and oysters were $3. The restaurant has a sushi, seafood, lobster area with bar seating and table seating for large parties in the back. Highly recommend this place if you love seafood. They have a little bit of everything for everyone and the service is really great as well.

Chelsea market – great marketplace where you can have amazing food experience. The market is big and has lots of eateries but Lobster place is the best – sushi, crabs, lobsters, best chowder in the world, selections of fresh oysters, wine and beer and more. Yes, there is nowhere to sit and at times it can be quite crowded, but this place is worth visiting for lunch. Affordable, atmospheric and super tasty. Every time I am in NY, I come here to eat and every time it is remarkable.

I went to Lobster Place three times in four days. This alone shows how much I like the place and especially the food. I mostly combined. Mostly I took a Raw Fish Over Rice bowl, combined with some Sushi rolls. It was great!

Stumbled upon this place in Chelsea Market whilst checking out the area. It was so good, we went back for more oysters a couple of days later!! They had around 8 to 10 types of oysters each time, all from different locations and they were shucked fresh, right in front of you. Just delicious. At happy hour prices of $2 each, pretty good value too. They are licensed, so you can enjoy a drink with your seafood which was a plus

Delicious spot inside of Chelsea Market. My wife and I split 2 sushi rolls, and a lobster roll meal (came with chips and soup of choice). The sushi rolls were unbelievable (we got Rainbow and Shrimp Tempura rolls), and the best lobster bisque I’ve ever had.

Great sushi bar. Sushi was super good. Unfortunately everything was only in plastic glasses. Very environmentally friendly!! Service is very good and friendly. Enjoyed the sushi

Yummy lobster roll picnic combo! I also really enjoyed my New England clam chowder! Great meal!! There's not a lot of seating so you'll have to see if you can share a table. But it was great!

The lobster roll was wonderful, fresh tasty and a good bun. It was hard to find in the back of Chelsea Market and the only seats are high stools.

Stopped in after seeing a show. So much fresh seafood! Didn’t know Lobster Poutine was a thing, but it was so amazing!! Can’t wait to go back again!

If you like seafood and its enjoyment you can not stop daring and live this experience in a historical and really beautiful and charming place. Oysters, clams and any fresh seafood of amazing quality. I'll be back.

We sat at the counter, which is part of the experience and a must. We ordered a lobster, oysters, and sushi, and then ordered more sushi and a lobster roll. It was all fantastic.

We went for a pre-dinner cocktail and oysters and ended up ordering the lobster roll and lobster bisque as well. A must visit when in Chelsea market. Oysters were top-notch and the lobster roll to die for! One the expensive side due to the high end foods, but def worth it!

As an Irish lobster fisherman, I was very enthusiastic to try their lobster. We had seen good reviews on trip advisor so went along to try it out . What a let-down- The lobster was frozen and then stored in ice on the counter. The lobster was definitely frozen for a good length of time because the meat was bland and tasteless… you could see freezer burn on the meat and the it wasn’t piping hot either. we ordered a 2lb lobster and a 1.5lb lobster, chowder and a shrimp dish.. the chowder was the best of it all… the meal came to over 220 dollars and was not worth it. If you want to experience lobster in New York find somewhere that has it live in a tank that you can choose and get it cooked for you in the restaurant.

Good food quality but beware very crowded at all hours limited possibility to seats and not very clean

Delicious fish and sushi. Great attention to details while providing gluten-free dishes. Wonderful lunch experience at the great Chelsea Market atmosphere.

Just finished the lobster roll. It was old tasting fish. I need to wash off the taste with miso soup. Stay away! Cold, old, yucky tasting. Don’t believe the reviews unless the reviewer has at least 15 reviews out there. Disgusting.

Located in the Chelsea Market, this was a really nice find. My daughter is gluten free so they prepared sushi to her liking adding GF soy sauce. I had a squid rice bowl which was delicious along with some spicy lobster sushi. My wife had tempura shrimp sushi which she loved. Great price as well with really helpful staff.

Everything fresh. Sushi prepared on sight by experienced masters, lobsters chosen by the customer and cooked at the time (in respect of animals, they are no longer alive as they once were) and many different oyster flavors to choose from. What more could you want? Unfortunately now the fame of this place is really skyrocketing and confusion is the only drawback. But the staff is very kind and welcoming. It's a must-see place.

Great place if you are in the mood for seafood. Had the lobster roll which was delicious and not overly pricey. Soups looked good, but did not sample. Chelsea Market is simply a great place to go

The most tasty sushi ever had (Japan is still missing in my list of visited countries). Anyway, the presentation and, most important, the taste of the food, was absolutely exquisite.

Food was not good. I was really liking forward to a nice late lunch. Unfortunately this place is awful and over priced. The chef is very rude and I accommodating. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Horrible experience.

Excellent food, although expensive. The oysters were at an affordable price and the tastiest I ever had: ask Edgar for advice to get the best ones.

This is our go to place every time we visit the City. Best Lobster Bisque Ive ever had. Old Bay seasoned fries are delicious. We order the 1.5lb lobster and split it. Amazing fresh cooked food at a reasonable price. don't miss it.

The restaurant is located in Chelsea Market, which has always been worth a visit. There is a good selection of fish, lobster, sushi... You don't sit so great, but the food is great and the staff very friendly.

Lobster Place 49 years and not hearing them. A seafood experience like no other. Inside Chelsea Market you will find a first-rate fresh fish counter, a raw seafood station, a sushi bar and a counter dedicated to steamed lobsters to eat on the spot or take home. Particular attention is paid to the selection of oysters, highlighted by the Michelin guides as among the most sought after. They have been pioneers in creating seafood dining experiences in New York since way back in 1974, when they first brought live lobsters straight from the coast of Maine. Excellent value for money, an experience to live in New York, enjoying the famous Lobster Roll with a cold beer and a walk in Chelsea.

Amazing lobster!! A very good little lobster meat sandwich! We got the sandwich and soup combo there, all good! Prices high but average for New York! Absolutely worth tasting! Super recommended!

Stunning place...everything makes you think of the sea!! A quantity of raw fish, shellfish, prawns and obviously lobster...the environment is comfortable and informal, the prices can be high...I bought a sandwich...to be honest, I paid 28 dollars for a sandwich full of lobster. ...but the taste was exquisite!! I would have liked to get the whole lobster but I had already spent enough for today! However, I highly recommend it!

Fresh boiled lobster, good quality. Fresh fish, oysters, mussels etcetera. Simple, great food for acceptable prices. Must do When at chelsea market.

I will always eat the lobster sandwich there when I return to NYC. It's excellent and unique. Simple place, but the quality is excellent and I recommend ordering white wine to accompany it.

we went there on Monday ar around 1pm - it was super busy but we decided to get a lobsterroll. I think I haven‘t eaten something that good in a while, it was beyond - Fairly expensive but highly recommendable!

Very delicious fresh sushi. You can also watch it being prepared. Very fresh delicious fish. A clear Recommendation in Chelsea Market.

The oysters are really fresh and Claudio is very attentive and kind, I will be back soon, highly recommended

Dive into some delicious fresh seafood at this seafood market and counter-service restaurant in Chelsea Market. The raw bar counter serves great fresh shucked oyster and clams, scallops, shrimp and other exotic seafood, along with a nice selection of beer and wines. Jostle up to the counter and fill out a menu of exactly what you want to order. Submit your completed menu order form to the helpful staff, and wait for your seafood to be shucked and prepared to order. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were fair. If you can deal with the crowds and standing while you eat, you will be rewarded for your efforts.

The Lobster place, in the center of the Chelsea Market , has the most fresh and tasty lobster rolls and jumbo shrimp in Manhattan. We always order the large lobster roll and draft beer ( made in NYC). Open daily . If you like sushi , you will definitely enjoy watching the Japanese chefs prepare the various raw fish just next to the lobster area.

A new find in New York's Chelsea Market. The lobster and crab legs I order were fresh and delicious. Take your time and go to all areas of restaurant before ordering. There are several different spots to order fresh seafood. I tried the fish and chips and this was average. However, I kept going back for the fresh whole lobster or crab legs. This is a very casual diner type grocery restaurant. There are bar stools an areas to eat but it can be quite crowded. Raw shrimp was also fresh and delectable. I was in New York for 7 days and tried to stop there daily as the fresh seafood was just that good. Note you wait in line, order and wait for your number to be called. It is laborious shelling a whole lobster and getting all the meat out but it is so good it is a labor of love. It was always crowded but once ordered your food came quickly. If you are there with someone else have them hold a spot where you can eat as you don't want your fresh steamed lobster to get cold while you try to find a seat. They also have sushi section that was always crowded at bar in the middle of diner. I don't eat sushi but this area rarely had a seat available. They also have delicious soups, Tried several but Clam Chowder was our favorite.

The Lobster Place was an experience that felt like a must. It's located in the eclectic Chelsea Markets but still manages to distinguish itself amongst all of the other choices. Although the food there looks a little pricey, it's definitely a worthwhile place to visit!

Had a steamed lobster last night. Very tasty. Good quality and large for a 1lb and 1/4. A bit pricey but lobster is expensive these days. My friends had lobster rolls and enjoyed them as well.

I've been here twice and had their oysters both times. I really should try other things but the oysters were too good. The sampling platter is $33 for a dozen (a pair of 6 different types). They also have a chart that shows customers the sweetness and size of each type of oysters, very informative.

This is probably the best Red Lobster restaurant I've been in. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. I'm usually skeptical about eating Sea food, but this was a very good experience.

Where do you start??? We wanted it all so we went back the following day after warm toasted brioche buns filled with lobster for chowder! The chowder... six options were available the day we went. Traditional chowder or Manhattan chowder... we had both!

Extraordinary. A value for money that perhaps has no equal in Manhattan. And also a lot of professionalism and kindness, especially the latter which is not to be taken for granted in the Big Apple: my daughter received some rolls that were too "spicy", well not only did one of the chefs have the skill and promptness to notice it but even worse he made them again sushi, not "spicy" indeed, and obviously free of charge. In addition to the sushi (very good), I also ate a "lobster roll", which was remarkable as always. Medium-low prices given the quality and being in Manhattan. Truly congratulations.

great place at the very end of the big hall. We sat at the counter, which is part of the experience and ordered a lobster sandwich, new england chowder and wine/bear. it was delicious (lobster chunks mesh really nice with other ingredients!), the staff was polite and attentive - highly recommend it!

Inside the Chelsea Market, it offers a vast choice of fish: from lobsters to crabcake sandwiches to fish and chips. Excellent food, not very fast service, fair quality/price ratio

We had a late afternoon soup here whilst visiting Chelse Market. We bought two cups of soup here - you get a soup cup with some crab biscuits and you can choice your soup from the four on offer (serve yourself). It took a few minutes before we got service, as the till operator wasn't at her place. The other five staff members in the kitchen couldn't be bothered or call her (for this reason only 4 instead of 5 points). The soups itself were very tasty and a good choice. All looked fresh and warm, happy to go here again

Had the steamed lobster and were not disappointed! Super tasty and quite easy to eat (they pre cut the lobster (still comes in once piece), so you don’t need any tools or to worry about your teeth). Gloves are also provided, so you don’t need to worry about greasy fingers. Clam chowder soup is also highly recommended. And all that coupled with the vibrant atmosphere of Chelsea Market. Def worth a visit!

For lunch today I ate the Maine Lobster Roll at the Lobster Place in Chelsea Market. I have been eating the roll for many years and before covid it cost about $18. Now as prices have increased all over it was $23. Ouch! While it is tasty - next time I will have the Picnic Lunch which has the soup and tasty Zappo chips. Assorted seafood entrées and sushi are available. Steamed lobsters are popular among the large Asian crowd that packs this special restaurant. Seating is sometimes difficult I get. Highly recommended.

While walking around Chelsea market, My wife and I decided to share a lobster for lunch. We ordered a large lobster and stood at one of the Stainless steel tables, which was a fun and enjoyable experience. The lobster which had been steamed came with melted butter and fresh cut lemon...and it was delicious! The lobster was so fresh. After we finished the lobster we decided to share a lobster roll because it was so tasty and again this was also delicious, it was a brioche roll with lobster tail diced in a dressing. The staff were all friendly and efficient. We will definitely be going back for another Lobster lunch when visiting New York again.

The lobster roll was absolutely delicious. The food is really fresh and tasty. Be prepared to pay big city prices, especially for Lobster.

Love lobster and seafood. Ended up getting carry out lobster and shrimp tempura rolls, seaweed salad and a cole slaw since this place was so busy inside. We ate a small communal square table outside since there was nowhere to inside or at the outside counter either. I can see why this place is crazy and constantly buzzing. I saw loads of people getting a whole lobster for their lunch today. The lobster roll was yummy but no sriracha available and we would have had to buy an entire bottle, seriously? Not even a small ramekin worth for $0.50, how cheap and lazy can they be. The cole slaw, seaweed and the shrimp tempura were all good, nothing special really, just sustenance to get us through a few more hours of walking until our better meal tonight back at Barn Joo.

First off Chelsea’s Market is already a very neat concept and experience! We went to eat here for lunch one day and did the raw oysters! I loved being able to try different kinds from different places around the United States and you can for sure tell the difference in the way they taste! New York is know for all the different cultures and food, and this was very good and something worth trying for sure if your in the area!

Located in Chelsea Market, @lobsterplacenyc is a great option for lobster, sushi, and oysters. It consists of separate seating and kitchen areas where you can get your fill of seafood. You choose the lobster you want and they boil it for you by the kilogram. If you want, you can also try the Lobster Roll. But I recommend you not to leave without eating lobster.

I don't know what to add here. You paid $40 for medium sized lobster, plus approximately $10 for crab's leg and $7 for beer. Ridiculous! We tried our best to finish our food. That was the best part of my visit of New York. Highly recommend this place and Chelsea market in general.

We love this place! My wife always gets the lobster roll. I do think it has shrunk though. But it's always good! Expensive, but good. The salmon burger was really tasty. Will probably eat here every visit to NYC

eat lobster for breakfast, very tasty and so much choice for other shell fish. great experience and always ltasty

I dream about the lobster roll I ate at night, for a long time it was delicious and full of lobster. Very fast service and totally honest prices given the standards of Manhattan and the product offered. The chowder was good but I've had better. In any case, you can't miss this stop in wonderful NYC.

I definitely wanted to test a lobster roll and a clam showder... Things done at Lobster Place. It was delicious, I recommend. Awards are quite high ($35 for a loster roll, soup, chips, croutons and a bottle of water). The place was crowded, I had to wait before placing my order. I picked it up to eat on the High Line (a stone's throw away).

Not 5 dots just for one thing, the price!! Although let's face it, in New York the prices even for bad food are not low, let alone for good food!!! The sandwich isn't huge but it's delicious!! 🤤 try it if you can, you won't regret it, in fact you will want it again and again!!! A Gem Map of Pleasures❤️(Instagram)

Our fish and chip order came and the fish was raw. Both orders. I sent it back and they redid the orders, and paid for them which was very generous (and the right thing to do, imho). The second attempt waste really good.

My husband and I had never had oysters and were unsure but the method of ordering is very easy and diagrams on the wall explain the different types well which was perfect for us not knowing how or what to order. We decided to try a couple of different types and were glad we did - we discovered a new food we really enjoyed. Staff friendly and informative,

Fast food place with really tasty food. Dont expect it to be cheap or comfortable. But a crowded noisy fast food place with really good lobster. I loved it.

We visited Friday, 12/6/19 with the intention of getting the lobster. From reading previous reviews, we intentionally arived around 10:00 AM to avoid the crowds and ensure a seat and/or table. Our timing was perfect as we had pleanty or room to wander and take in all of the amazing offerings and we had our choice of seats across from the raw bar. The lobster looked great but we decided to opt for the oyster samplers, langoustine, and both the East and West Coast sea urchin. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Every person working there was incredibly friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed this gem!

It is located inside Chelsea Market. The best lobster sandwich we had in New York. High price but the quality is very high.

This place is insane with seafood. In the very back you can get a lobster roll. The sandwich isn't huge but just the right size. The flavor was excellent. Not too much mayo which I like. The fries were good as well. Up front there is another restaurant and people seemed to be enjoying other good seafood.

This restaurant is located in the seafood hall of the Chelsea market. You sit at a bar around the kitchen and watch the cooks make your dish. I ordered oysters from the neighbors and my daughter ordered a sushi roll. A white wine with it. Don't do anything about it. And the sushi was really of great quality!

The atmosphere is more like that of a fast food restaurant. The seating is very uncomfortable and most of the seats are reserved for the sushi bar. The seafood quality is good, but very expensive. The lobster roll was disappointing for the price: not much lobster, a lot of mayonnaise. But we just wanted to try it.

In my opinion, Chelsea Market is a destination that cannot and should not be missed, due to its historical charm that it still retains today. Then continue on the High Line. Stop at the Lobster Place was perfect for the quality of the fish and the attentive and friendly service. Prices average for New York

We visited Chelsea market and chose this place for a quick break. We ate the lobster roll. A steamed car sandwich and lemon mayonnaise. A pleasure!! If you happen to pass by, try it! The lemon mayonnaise is just right, it doesn't cover the taste of the lobster (it has claws). Soft bread. Great! The place is suggestive! In the same place you can also enjoy steamed lobster and sushi. It deserves it!

I had steamed lobster and bisque soup both excellent and the service was quick too. Next time I’ m going to try the ostrich that looked so fresh and appetites! The staff was also friendly and helpfull.

Good grief, was the lobster place ever even trying? Or have I been under some weird delusional spell? I don’t know how many times I’ve been here, I’ve been a faithful since back in the days when it was almost an afterthought to the fresh fish market it shared a tiny space with. But their service over the last several years is just horrendous. Not a single person who works regretting is even trying to be kind. They seem outright resentful of your presence. – so we’re getting puny, stupidly overpriced medicine food, served by the most hostile group of people, who despite being downright rude, consistently force you to tip 20%. It feels like theyre just there to scam the tourists. Lame. The lobster Place has literally become a joke.

We tour a tour of the High Line and stopped afterwards for lunch. All the seafood looked great, but we decided on sushi. The salmon special was out of this world. Eel and rainbow rolls also were tremendous. Super high quality fish prepared by professionals.

If you spend a few days in New York this Seafood Hall in the heart of Chelsea Market is simply not to be missed. You can eat anything based on fish, especially raw. We will always remember with pleasure the delicious (and dear) Lobster Roll, literally devoured in a few minutes. In summary a MUST!

I always source out seafood restaurants whenever I'm on holiday, I must state that the clam chowder was the best I've ever had the pleasure of consuming, top marks!

Outstanding sushi. Great quality of fish! If you are around Chelsea Market, treat yourself with some succulent sushi’s! You will not regret it

We fell into this restaurant by chance and couldn’t believe our luck . The place was a buzz with plenty of choice with some magnificent looking seafood, in particular the lobster and oysters. We started with chowder soup, a few choices and tasty. The lobster was sold by the weight and not as expensive as I expected. I found the lobster in the US really nice but it doesn’t stand up against our crays from southern Australia. This is an amazing place and I’m so glad we found it ..... Excellent Tony.A

Big disappointment for me the sandwich with the lobster, I had really high expectations instead disappointed me. I found it untasty and dull in flavor, at $30 I expected significantly more. Seeing the price I took the menu which included some chips then discovered that they were in the bag and not fresh and a soup. The clam soup instead pleasantly surprised me, dense and delicate, better that of the sandwich.

It’s a little tough to navigate during the Pandemic. Best for takeout. Very good oyster selection. The overall portions are small and fairly pricey. Limited drink/wine selection. Service is spotty but again, the setup isn’t optimal for sitting outside. I think it would be amazing to sit at the multiple bars inside and people watch once this is over. Worth visiting on a nice sunny day

Fresh seafood in the heart of Chelsea. This gem inside the market offers a showcase super stocked with oysters and similar, but the Lobster corner really deserves a lot: taken a very rich and really great lobster roll. Wide selection of other lobster dishes. Great value for money for Ny. Recommended!

my goodness it was all very good. the lobster roll .. the famous lobster sandwich was divine. super stuffed . c was a lot of lobster. we took two .. the price is worth the quality and quantity! in Italy we dream of it. excellent .

Think on a disappointing place, you found! Ordered a crab cake, which I asked in advance about the size and to be on the plate and they offered me to add salad. Believe me, I got a very small crab cake, way smaller than the burger size mentioned and, believe me, ONE leaf of lettuce! Seriously? All of that to $19

I ordered the lobster roll package which included a roll, a lobster bisque, and a bag of chips for about $25, all packaged neatly in a nice carry out bag. Everything was good, although the roll was a bit small.

The venue is located inside Chelsea Market, which also shares its own room with a sushi. I got one of the lobster sandwiches, good but extremely expensive for a lobster version to eat almost standing up.

I do love this place, great food, great wine, great people and.....superb location What else? Every time I've to come back Bravoo

As always, the food here is perfect. Great miso shop and excellent sushi!! The service is super NYC … so very unfriendly, pushy and not overly skilled

In this shop you can get everything that has to do with seafood - from oysters, to fish, sushi and lobster in 3 sizes - simply delicious

We sat at the sushi bar and went for the signature tasting - few rounds of sushi that changes from time to time. The tasting cost 35 dollars, which was a fair price. The food was amazing, both taste and presentation. The service was also really good and fast. Since the sushi bar is in the middle of the place, it felt crowded at times but nothing to worry about. Definitely worth checking out if in Chelsea Market region.

This place inside the Chelsea market offers a wide choice for fish lovers: lobster, sushi, oysters. I tasted the cooked oysters and the sushi, all of a good standard. The service is a little uncomfortable, as are the seats. Average prices.

Visited this place twice during a recent trip to NYC. Used the little order window on the street at the rear of the restaurant which I thought was a great idea. My son fell in love with the eel sushi rolls which were really good value for money, I tried both the lobster roll and the crab cake sammy, both were super fresh and tasty. I’d also recommend their cocktails which are definitely not shy on alcohol. Definitely worth a visit if your in Chelsea

We had 3 delicious lobsters and 1 plate of mixed sushi, good that too. The price is right proportionate to the type and quantity of food.
Lobster in NY
High quality lobster at very affordable prices at Chelsea market in New York. He had lobster, lobster rolls, prawn fried rice and we all of very high standards. A good way to finish a walk down the High Line.
