It is a hidden gem

By Jamie M |

In a city of so many restaurants, it is nice to be recommended one that really does hit the mark. A Monday night, with an incredible buzz and atmosphere. We were extremely lucky to get in. The staff from the moment we arrived, throughout and to the moment we left were fantastic. Literally cannot rate them highly enough. Mackenzie (our waiter) was knowledgeable, polite and extremely on the ball. The food. Wow. It is a sharing concept, and so so good. We tried the naan bread, prawns, salad, fish tacos, and more. 4-6 dishes for a couple is the recommendation and on 6 dishes, you will be extremely full. I admit that I am not a foodie. It does not excite me, but with Lola’s, it is a restaurant which I am already planning to come back to.

Excellent balance of approachable high end dining

Lola’s has mastered the balance of an unassuming dinner with high end dining. Their waitstaff is approachable, welcoming and knowledgeable. The dishes are served and they will remind you of every morsel of magic the brings the tastes together. Fun accompaniments like the vinegar for the crispy chicken thighs really take everything to the next level. The cocktail menu is equally inventive. But at the same time, what makes it so nice are the smiles and welcoming chatter that makes you feel like you just stumbled upon a friend in her kitchen at home on the verge of a JB award. Go.

We loved everything about this new trending NYC Restaurant . Two ** in NY Times led us here and we were not disappointed. Great service, inventive, but not bizarre dishes.. convivial atmosphere. Loved the Naan, Tuna Tataki, Bento Bix and Roastef Oysters! Black Forest Cake … amazing!!

Excellent Asian Flavors

Sit at the Kitchen counter. We really enjoyed watching the chefs working diligently to prepare the delicious and creative dishes on the superb menu. We shared four entrees and everything was perfectly balanced in terms of flavor and presentation. The service was attentive, yet not intrusive. The atmosphere was busy, but not so loud that it affected our conversation. We have been recommending Lola's to friends since we went the other day, and will continue to enthusiastically do so!

Interesting twist on Southern flavors

Lively restaurant with high noise levels. We enjoyed the Paraiso House Salad and Housemade Naan for starters, and the Carolina Gold Rice grit cakes and Pork Dumplings for our entrees. Neighboring tables had the crispy chicken thighs which also looked delicious. High marks for the food and service.

NoMad Gem

Unpretentious, impeccable, and inviting staff, space, service, and (of course) food. You would not have guessed it was opening night with such a flawless performance. A fun evening and worthy of a trip to NoMad to visit this Gramercy Tavern alum's new place!

Very good. Not great

We had an enjoyable meal here. We ordered a number of small plates and desserts. All good but nothing memorable. Service was very good. Noisy.

Sensational, innovative and fun!

Sensational Meal. This chef is incredible. We were a group of four that shared everything as our server suggested. The tilefish was so good. A fish we had never had but just wonderful. So was the crispy chicken thigh and the slow roasted short rib. You can't go wrong on anything here. The cocktails are cool and original and the ambience also perfect. You can actually hear each other in here although every table was filled! Save room for the flan and the chocolate chip cookie which doesnt sound like a big deal was absolutely divine. One of the best new spots in NYC!
