If you are walking round Little Italy and want a quintessential NY lunch, as I was, this is the place. Over 100 years of pizza history. Beautiful thin crust pizza, with an interesting range of toppings. Cash only.

This place was recommended to us by a local as it’s the first pizza place in the US, and it did not disappoint! The pizza was excellent and the pasta was even better! Absolutely recommend! It was crowded but we waited less than 30min for a party of 8, so it wasn’t bad at all. They only accept cash, but have an ATM inside.

Overall experience was terrific. It’s billed as America’s oldest pizza and now for me it’s the best. Both traditional and white pie perfectly cooked!!! Servers and staff A+.

This was my go-to pizza place. Loved it! Loved the old oven, and atmosphere. Unfortunately, its changed a lot. Since COVID, they downsized and no longer have the original oven. Understandable, I guess. Other things are not understandable. Only medium pizzas now. Limited toppings. This was a destination for us for years. Now its just good pizza. No longer great.

I always used to come to Lombardi's and haven't been since the pandemic - and I doubt I'll be going again. The pizzas just aren't what they used to be. Dry bases, meagre, watery toppings (what happened to the big coal roasted peppers?), and pretty outrageous prices. Staff mainly interested in telling you the history of the place.

I appreciate the historical value of being the first place to have pizza in the US, however the pizza served today at Lombardi’s was easily the most bland I had during my time in the city. Service was excellent and I won’t take away from that, but if you are looking for authentic and delicious pizza, go elsewhere. If you do go despite the review, know they are cash only.

Used to be SO good. We always came here on the first and last night of our NYC visits from the UK. Been doing that for years and years. Not sure what's happened, but things have changed. Pizzas have got smaller, prices higher and the taste isn't quite as good. We tried John's of Bleeker Street instead and it was FABULOUS! That's our new go to.

The best pizza in NYC. The sauce is slightly sweet (I love). I lived in NYC for 12 years. Still my favorite place to share a pie when I return with the family.

the meatballs were so good and the flavors were even better and when the pizza came out I was in shock is wasn't greasy it was crispy and soft this experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend and try it again =.

First just to say this is a cash only place We had a very enjoyable meal. Seen some posts saying pizzas small for price. I don’t have anything to compare to but we thought they were very good. Staff very friendly, and tried best to accommodate some of the family’s odd likes/dislikes. Salad portion is big. Fresh and nice. If visiting New York, def worth seeking out

We came here for lunch and got to eat in the covered outdoor seating. We got some very delicious bruschetta to start - the tomatoes were very fresh and the bread was crispy outside with a bit of "Chew" in the middle - exactly how I like it. We split a Spinach, Ricotta & Pancetta Pizza, the 12 inch size was perfect for 2. The crust was delicious and the pizza was very good. Worth a stop!

To be honest, it’s pretty average. Don’t believe the hype. The prices are rather ridiculous for pizza as well

Good things last the test of time! That is Lombardis in a nutshell! Thew place has that old school NYC feel too it, brick walls and tin ceilings based around relatively small dining rooms interspersed between multiple storefronts. The servers were quick and knowledgeable about the items on the menus. We started with the BRUSCHETTA ON RUSTIC BREAD. The tomato mix was nicely soaked with the other ingredients giving a nice ripened flavor. Good edge of cheese in there to round out the flavor. The juices soaked into the thick bread giving it a nice softness. We got the ORIGINAL MARGHERITA, it was simple and delicious! Sauce was fresh and well flavored, the cheese had a nice salty edge to it, and the crust was thin and perfectly cooked! We also ordered another pizza but I dont know the name of it. It had eggplant and ricotta on it. The eggplant was cut beautiful thin with a simply breading. The ricotta was thick dollops, drying out just right for each bite. An amazing mix of flavors!

This restaurant that claims to be Italian,n has only the name, the music not Italian the waiters did not speak Italian the pizza not good the calzone with tomato sauce apart it is not an Italian recipe short ..I strongly advise against and they do not take the Carte Bleue

Home-style pizza, thin and crunchy, Friendly staff, they only accept cash. Very expensive, pizza, drink and tax And tip $45

Very disappointed with the pizza during our recent visit. The pizza was eating a piece of card board. The sauce was bland and the cheese was tasteless. This is our last visit to Lombardi's. This resturant is a period time piece and needs to move into the future.

We have not been here for many years and we do not know why. We go again on the second day of New Year at noon - the first group of customers. We ordered a extra two meatball ragatoni, a sausage, onion and peppers pie; and a garlic wings as well as a cheese cake cone. As usual, the pie is good but could be more sausages. The pasta cooked just right and we are happy we have total 3 nice and soft meatballs. The chicken wings are the best. The cone is very nice too.

Came here for the second time, it was not as good as the first. The pizza was dry and the staff a little rushed. It's a shame, but the neighborhood is great.

Quick service for how busy the place usually is. Very good ingredients for pizzas. Excellent Margherita, Pesto and Double Pepperoni Pizza. Only cash! Pizza Portion are average.

We ordered the house salad, raviolis and the pizza margarita, everything was delicious. We definitely would visit again and try out therein menu. Excelent pizza place in the area!

Ok pizza and pasta. Better than olive garden, but service is mediocre to poor. The management of this restaurant should hire better waiters.

Not hard to find, Little Italy is around the corner. Try the meatballs with sauce a l'italian, awesome! Pizza is so so, worth tryin'

When you ask the hotel concierge, which pizzeria would they recommend, we got the same answer, Lombardi NY. But they don’t take reservations, we got there before 5 pm and shortly we got our table as well as a quick tour of the special pizza oven. Pizzas and salad and all appetizers were 5 star.

Good for a quick lunch. Cash only for good pizza and very reasonable priced soft drinks. Will come again when next in NYC.

Standard food. Overprice. We order Two raviolis plates. One with meatball (5dls each meatball, but they were big) when the plates came up, I asked for more chesse (in the pic you can see was poor) and bread. The answer was “ i can send you parmesan but the bread has a cost. 8dls the piece of bread” What???? I came from italian family. Never in my life in an italian restaurant somebody charge me for bread. I said no. But the. Another waiter being it to me free. So idk if the waiter was trying to steal money or they really didnt charge me in this case the bread (which was just a couple slices of baguete bread) Food is very standard. We went to julianas and services/food was great. Dont waste you time and money

After doing a catacombs tour of nearby Old St. Patrick's cathedral, we went here to experience a pizza from America's first pizzaria. Service was friendly and efficient. The margarita pizza with extra cheese and Italian sausage was decent but not exceptional, especially at the price charged for a 10-inch pizza.

Unfortunately I think this restaurant lives off a reputation long gone. Having finished a tour of Little Italy we were recommended by the tour guide to visit. We normally avoid tourist trap restaurants but decided on this occasion to try it out. Cash only which is a pain, we shared the worst Caesar salad ever followed by a pizza with no base, cold and hard as cardboard. The staff lacked any passion and left feeling very disappointed by the whole experience.

They charged us over $30 for clam pizza when take out for same pie is only $25. If you must try their pizza which is eh at best, just do take out because ambiance is total garbage here and they require you to pay cash only. Cash only business is basically owner saying we don't care bout our customers and they can come or not, we don't care. Better pizza at nearby Rubirosa, no kidding.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Lombardi’s Pizza on Spring Street this past weekend, and let me tell you—it lives up to the hype! As America’s first pizzeria, the history alone is enough reason to stop by, but the pizza? Incredible. The coal-fired crust was perfection—crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and packed with that signature smoky flavor. I went with the double pepperoni, and every bite was a perfect balance of fresh flavors. The ambiance was warm and inviting, giving off that old-school NYC charm. The service was friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. Yes, it’s cash-only, but honestly, it’s worth the minor inconvenience for a slice of history (and deliciousness). If you’re in New York and love pizza, Lombardi’s is a must! I’ll definitely be back.

When you hear that this place is one of the originals that brought pizza to NYC, your expectations grow. Feels like the fame is just in the name and that competition has gone ahead of them. The appetizers were well below average with a simple and under-seasoned mozzarella cheese. Pizza dough was good but not good enough to classify it as the best in the city.

The first pizzeria in the US, established 1905. Very classic interior. Good service and delicious food. I took a pizza which was great, and both cocktail and wine was also very good. Definetly a place worth a visit.

Bring cash as this tourist magnet restaurant doesn’t take credit cards. There’s an ATM inside and service is just okay. If you’re looking for “NY pizza” you may want to pick up a slice before or after eating here. The pizza is good though, it’s just not your typical NY slice.

We’ve wanted to try here for a while on our many visits to NYC. We’ve gone to most of the big name pizza places. The pizza wa sgood. But not the best I’ve had not even in NYC. But the experience of going there and being in the iconic location and classic pizzeria vibes with red and white checkered tablecloths made up for it. We got a large Margarita and a Caesar salad with a few drinks. I did like the sauce and the fresh mozzarella but I found the crust was not as tasteful as other places I’ve been to. Overall a good time though and I do encourage people to go there at least once and make your own decisions

This "restaurant" is a scam. The place had been recommended by friends but we didn't understand why. First, they announced 45 minutes of waiting, outside in the cold, so we decided to have a drink in another bar in the neighborhood. After 5' that machine started ringing, but it was not our turn. They told us that they make everybody in the witing line comeback and serve the first one to be there. When it was finally our time, the waiter was incredibly unfriendly and rude. We were seated in a "plastic box" outside : cold, windy and unfriendly atmosphere. The drinks arrived, wine was average, must be around 5$/ bottle but priced 10 / glass. Average cuttelry and plastic plates, the tablecloth was dirty and sticky ... Finally let's talk about price and quality?! Our pizzas were not served at the same time. The pizza I got, "the boss pizza" with rucola and prosciutto Ham was smelling ... fish. I had the impression I was eating clams. Hopefully it didn't taste clams : it didn't have any taste to be honest. The Margherita of my partners was also totally insignificant. We paid around 80$ for this masquerade which felt like racket. What a waste of time, money and energy ! !!! Walk away, there's nothing good in there

Planned a trip down to Little Italy for some authentic pizza this holiday season. We had been to Lomarbdi's on Spring Street a couple times before and enjoyed it. Last year we made the mistake of going to the "new" location on 28th street since it was closer to Herald Square. This year we headed back down to Little Italy to go to the original location! Once at Lombardi's we went inside. We were quoted something like 20-30 minutes for a table. I was a bit displeased since we were starving after a long day of play in the city. BUT, we took a buzzer and stood off in the corner. Not even 5 minutes later we were being seated!! We were OH SO HAPPY! We ordered a regular margherita pizza and a pepperoni lovers pizza. From the time we were seated to the time our pizza arrived at the table it was about 30 minutes. So, kitchen service was a tad slow. Pizzas looked great upon arrival. AND they were really good. I really loved the margherita pizza. It was my favorite. Crust was a tad crispy, sauce a tad sweet yet with some zest. Cheese could have been a little me plentiful since it was a tad sparse. Although the cheese was real fresh mozzarella cheese. Pepperoni pizza was good. It was LOADED with pepperoni slices, but it was a tad on the spicy side. Actually, I thought it was too spicy for me. Overall, we had a good experience with Lomabardi's on Spring. Pizza was excellent. Waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. Interior was Italian casual. It was pretty, yet comfortable. Prices are average. Parking in this area is tight. No lot, just street parking. Subway might be a better option if you are not within walking distance. I would recommend and we will be back!

Portions are small for the price, staff was very nice and attentive. Pizza is average at best. (Tip, it’s cash only also)

So glad we tried this place. Highly recommended!! We had pizza and the meatball appetizer!! Everything was absolutely delicious!!

We went to Lombardi's because it used to be so good. We are also big fans of Juliana's which is still great. But I have to say that Lombardi's was a huge disappointment. The pizza had a weird taste, the sauce was insipid and the crust tasted like cardboard. It is so sad. I asked the waiter if the recipe had changed and all he said was it switched from coal oven to an electric brick oven. You will definitely lose customers after this experience. Not worth it at all. So sorry that it still carries the Lombardi name. I lived in Naples so I know what good pizza tastes like. Also, the eggplant appetizer was overcooked. All was bad. : (

A bit touristy, but the pizza was great, atmosphere/decore are wonderful. Take a few minutes to stroll Mulberry Street after your pizza (you need the exercise). The scene is a bit kitschy, but the cannolis are good.

Figured we had to try this place out for classic NYC pizza. The pizza was good but not cheap. We opted for an appetizer and to split a pizza, which worked out well.

GREAT Pizza. What a cute place to dine with the authentic table cloths, etc. Pizza and service were great! I will be back the next time I'm in NYC.

Absolutely divine! It’s been a while since I was in NYC but best pizza and pasta! I went with family and friends and everyone was happily stuffed by the end. Till next time

We had to try the famous pizza from the first pizza place in America. We ordered a pizza margarita. The crust was dry and hard like a biscuit, hard to bite into and had no flavor. It broke into crumbs like a dry cookie. The tomato sauce was like ketchup but again with no flavor. They put a couple of chunks of mozzarella and a sprig of basil on it. What a rip off. I don't understand why anyone thinks this is good and how this place is getting away with serving food this bad. Fast food pizza chains are way better.

Big disappointment!! Not what it used to be?!!! We came here 10 years ago and loved it. They seemed to have sold out to some fast food franchise because the pizza tasted like a frozen supermarket pizza that was warmed up in a brick oven, cheese covered frisbee! Crazy expensive for nothing NYC has so many pizza places please go somewhere else!

I went here with my friends recently, and I definetly recommend this place! Since it is the first pizzeria in the U.S, we could tell the pizza was very high quality! The cheese AND pepperoni pizza was great, with a huge amount of cheese! Great for families, friends, or meetings!

We ate here on a recent trip to NYC and the pizza 🍕 was amazing, staff great, the restaurant itself is proper old school Italian 🇮🇹 , American 🇺🇸 Pizzeria with a real nice vibe. Thank you 🙏

not real Italian style Pizza . biscuit like base with no taste of ingredients . Tomato sauce and cheese were of low quality . overpriced at 30 Dollar pizza and cash payment only .

this place was so amazing I thought I would never go to a pizzeria place so amazing I needed to give a 5 star review for everything thank you for having us at the time and the place was beautiful and thank you to your beautiful person denny

Beware. This is no longer the Lombardi's that was duly famous for it's coal fired, thin crust pizza with homemade sauce and super-fresh toppings. I have no idea what happened, but clearly someone new is running (and ruining) the place. The original store-front off the corner, where the ovens sat in the back, is gone!! Closed. The corner part is still there, but the pizza has a thicker crust, canned sauce, and less than impressive toppings. I have to guess that Covid killed the real Lombardi's. May it rest in peace. This place can just rest -- I can't go back because it shares only the name with the place I spent 50 years devouring world-class pies.

A wonderful place to have lunch in and get some great traditional pizza. Above-average prices but well worth it.

$30 for the most terrible pizza I have ever eaten. It was completely over cooked. The bottle was so hard. If you are going to be known for your pizza’s-you need to know how a pizza is cooked. We Will never go back to this restaurant again. Complete rip off.

Pizzas were tasteless and pricey. 70 bucks for two tasteless pizzas, a glass of watery coke and some tap water. Don't go there.

Overrated! Lombardi's used to be a great, I ate there every NYC trip. Not anymore. Visited on a Tuesday, place was empty. Service was non-existent. Pizza used to be 16 inches, now 12 inches for higher price $30+. One pizza arrived at table, second 12 minute later. Pizza warm, not hot, cheese not melted. No refills. Average at best for premium price and indifferent staff. Cash only.

Lombardi’s pizza is a must when in NYC. Pizza was excellent. Atmosphere and service was great. Cash only though so come prepared.

Highly recommended if you love pizza! My friend and I ordered bruchette in advance and it tasted fantastic! The pizza was also unbelievably delicious. We have both been on holiday a lot in Italy/Croatia where you can eat delicious pizzas, but we agree that this is probably one of the tastiest pizzas we have ever had in our lives! We also recommend that you order a nice glass of red wine with your meal! The waiter gave us the tip to add the balsamic vinegar to our BUDDY'S "CAKE BOSS" special pizza! This is a pizza with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, prosciutto, arugula topped with romano (cheese). The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere.

We only had about 5 hours in NY and drove down to Little Italy. We decided to come in for some pizza. The service was terrible. We couldn’t get our server for anything. It took so long to take our order we were just about to get up and leave. Once our pizza was brought out, he didn’t show up again until he brought the check and that took so long my husband went looking for him to ask for it. The food was OK, but nothing special. They have one restroom that services one person at a time for both men and women so there is a line down the little hallway to get in. There are so many places to eat in NY, skip this one.

Pizza was OK, I have had better pizza’s and worse pizza’s. Coke was watery. Place is old and shabby., cash only however they do have an ATM in the restaurant. If you want a good pizza experience this is not the place.

Great Italian restaurant, very tasty food and very friendly staff! The pizza has a crispy, thin base - great! Pasta dishes are also very tasty (sauces etc.)! Great insider tip!

I've been going to Lombardi's for years and always make a stop whenever I am in NYC. I think this may be the last time I will ever visit. Each time I have visited they have made another cut to something that lessens the experience in some way. They moved to using only paper plates or cheap dishware, the menu has been gutted significantly, the prices have jumped up considerably, and the portions have gotten smaller. The pizza itself is still good, but at the prices they charge for the little amount you get, it is no longer worth it.

A very sad day for me. This was once the BEST pizza in NYC….now, it’s an overpriced, underwhelming pizza experience. It’s living on its past reputation….it’s become nothing more than a tourist trap, no better than the “Italian” restaurants on Mulberry St. I saw the owner at the bar after today’s lunch and thought about approaching him to tell him. But he looked defeated and unhappy. So why make my experience worse. Find somewhere else to go.

I’m sad to say after 10 years of coming to New York City and eating at Lombardis the first night we are here… Tonight was a very big disappointment. I have had nothing but praise for this restaurant since 2010. I always get the same thing the clam pie which is a signature pizza at this restaurant. And years gone by they use local little neck clams steamed to perfection and they were wonderful. Tonight it seems that they decided to go cheap and use imported Chinese baby clams which are absolutely horrible. I am a commercial fisherman and I can tell the difference between imported clams and local fresh Clams. For $32 they should still be serving local domestic clams on their pizza. Unfortunately I will never go back unless they can assure me that they are using local Little Clams again. How sad.

Great find. Waiting staff were attentive and good choice on the menu. Food was delicious and portions were large. Very nice family dinner

Great service! Friendly staff! and of course...great pizza! We went at lunch hour on a weekday and it was not very crowded. Managed to get a table immediately. The pizza is good and portions just nice for us. Two of us shared 1 pizza. This place emits a charm which will take your fancy! Come by for a try if you need pizza in NYC!

We were very disappointed in the pizzas..as our first time in nyc we were recommended to go here but wish we hadn’t. 3 x beers, 2 x pizzas were over $110. Pizzas were a bit bland and we feel they are very overpriced at $28 each for their size. Also table was tiny and felt we were shoe horned in against a wall so not comfortable at all and waited 30 x mins for the table- it was definitely NOT worth waiting for. There are better pizzas served in the Irish bars so avoid this place.

The starters and pizzas are excellent!! The personnel is very friendly!! Every time I go to NY I come back. Recommended 100x 100.

We went after a great visit to The New Museum. We got the only table left outside. Service was speedy. We ordered one margarita pizza for three, one salad for one, and an eggplant appetizer for three of us to share. All were delicious, better than I recalled from visits long ago. The pizza is spectacularly non-oily. The interior is tiny. The bathroom is immaculate. Prices reasonable. I will return.

It shows off by stating "first pizzeria of NY", I sure can't understand how this so-called restaurant is still open. Went there for lunch - we are European and very well travelled, so this might shock one or two. It took us some time to choose between a short pizza menu which we were not used to. One margarita and one margarita with 2 added toppings. I will set aside the high prices and ai wouldn't care if the taste was good BUT....there were disgusting. The mozzarella? Believe me when I say this was not 100% mozzarella, it is cut with another cheese, it is very easily recognisable and it is thick and compact. There is nothing good, not even the Italian sodas, which is full of ice and mixed with water. They prayed themselves for being the first pizzeria in NYC, but I sure can't understand how this place still stands. Oh and it takes only cash.....really ? In 2025 (that's just weird)....I almost didn’t want to leave any tip but the waiter was nice, nothing to do with him. Avoid !

An hour's wait. Two got the food long before the others and managed to eat up before the rest of the table got the food. We ordered pepperoni on a half pizza. $4 for 10 small slices.

Exceptional place and nice service. The pizzas were amazing and we also tried some pasta: meatball rigatoni was great. Out of the pizzas the pepperoni one we tried was excellent. The pepperoni quality is solid. Overall good experience. They could use some improvement on the menu, although i can see why they don't want to over complicate it. Certainly a thumbs up for this...

This place has been a staple on our visits to NYC, but we haven’t been since Covid. I don’t know what happened but their pizza went way downhill!!! Crust was burnt on one of them and both were not appetizing. The only reason I gave it a two (instead of a one) was because the service was good. Anyway, I think there’s better. Won’t be back.

We stopped in and were looking for classic NYC pizza and pasta - this was not it! So disappointed. The worst meal we ever had in New York. The sauce was terrible and eggplant on top of pizza looked like a piece of leather. I couldn't even eat the pizza, just around the crust which wasn't great either. Big waste of time, money. I recommend you skip this one. So sad as it is supposed to be local landmark.

The oldest pizzeria in NY, Lombardis pizza. It’s cooked in a coal oven. The pizza is thin and crusty. It’s a good traditional pizza.

Great atmosphere and very good pizza. We had the double pepperoni. We highly recommend this historic restaurant. The first pizza restaurant in the US. FYI cash only

This pizza really sucked. It was frozen and didn't taste like pizza at all, the pineapple pizza really infuriated me. The place itself sucked, all crumbly and the bathrooms were all pissed. There's also the crumbs of customers' noses. A real suck, I would NEVER recommend visiting this pizzeria, you will regret it bitterly. Signed: Upset Thomas.

Strongly recommend as the best pizza in town. A bit overpriced now and portions have become smaller but just for the experience of clay oven cooked pizza try to go. The history is fab and it’s very traditional. Taste is exceptional

I got worried reading some of the negative reviews here, but we enjoyed our dinner. The pizzas may not be super cheap, but they're quite good, with a thinnish, crisp crust and fresh mozzarella, etc. We liked our Margarita pizza and our wedge salad a lot. They seemed quite busy, too -- we dined around 5pm or so on a Friday.

It may be the first pizzeria in New York, but it is definitely not the best pizza I have eaten in this beautiful city. On the plus side there is the tomato they use and the atmosphere of the place. The pizza in general is neither good nor bad, you eat but you definitely do not go out fully satisfied. Absolutely to change the cheese used that is not mozzarella. It is absurd that they only accept cash and that they put the withdrawal machine inside with the commission that naturally goes to the club: it would be laughable but actually it makes us cry. We only sat down because it was late and by then we were inside so we withdrew (6 days in New York I never needed dollars except in this place). Luckily I also ate other good pizzas elsewhere!

This is the first Italian Restaurant in America and it is amazing. The food is as authentic Italian as it gets away from Italy. The Margherita Pizza is phenomenal and the vibe is spectacular. I highly recommend stopping by for lunch if you are in Little Italy.

This pizza pizza is one of my favorites! Here pizza is like in Italy. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and friendly.I like to come here because the staff is always very kind and attentive! Most importantly, the pizza is always very tasty!

The establishment proudly displays a wooden sign advertising it as the first pizzeria open in New York City, back in the early 20th century. The question that assails the diner, after the meal, is when it ceased to be. The restaurant is a true reflection of the current neighborhoods of Little Italy and Nolita Unable to resist the push of nearby China Town, the former are battling in retreat, engulfed by Oriental business and if anything remains of the old Italian neighborhoods is due only to the commercial interest of Asians in preserving its external facade as a tourist Attraction. What is described above is what happens with Lombardi's, of genuine Italian trattoria only the name and, partly, the decoration. The service is diverse and foreign and I'm afraid it's neither Italian-American nor the kitchen nor the business address. The establishment when we arrived, following the directions of the tourist guides who recommend it, was almost empty. Then we realized the reason: high prices and poor quality. They do not accept card payments - a unique case in NYC - although they have a ticket dispenser. Pizzas, although of generous proportions, are strange and far removed from Neapolitan tradition. They are so overloaded with tomato sauce that it is necessary to eat them with knife and fork and not take the portion with your hand and fold it as is traditional. A diner took fetuccini alla Alfredo. The pasta was overcooked, something unthinkable in a real Italian, and the sauce was tasteless. After the experience, we dared not order dessert at the prospect of certain and expensive disappointment.

Great Italian Food made with fresh ingredients. Friendly service. Sitting outside is not the most comfortable, but the food makes you forget. Great value for money.

Great pizza. You won't be disappointed. We had dinner for two, pizza, salad, eggplant melanzane, and drinks for $85. Good value. Average service. CASH ONLY. This where pizza as America knows it got started and it's worth a pilgrimage to visit.

It should be known that this is not the same or original Lombardi’s. I was so disappointed when we received our food and it was far from what we remembered. From what I found it has new owners and it’s definitely not the same place. Pizzas are small not giant like Lombardi’s is known for and was not nearly as good.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Extremely pleased with everything. Service was great, food was excellent, decor and ambience was fantastic. We had the double pepperoni pizza with a couple glasses of Chianti. Pizza was delicious, nice and hot, great tomato sauce and, as the name implies, lots of pepperoni. Red and white checkerboard table coverings give it a great authentic Little Italy feel. We had no problem getting a table (it was right around 1pm) and our waitress was right there looking after us and made sure everything was good during our stay. A NYC icon, do yourself a favour and enjoy a pizza here, definitely coming back our next time here!!!

Went there for the history, and the pie. It was good, not very big, and a little pricey. Probably wouldn't go back, but nice to go atleast once.

Maybe a bad day for the chef. Barely any sauce spread over a cracker-like crust for a margherita with a small dropping of cheese. Very disappointed in the pie, go down a block to Prince St for better pizza. Highly overrated.

I am a teacher in the South Bronx and I brought a small group of 12 students to eat at Lombardi's for a field trip. Denny made sure we had an incredible experience. We got a chance to try the meatballs, which was a great portion and delicious. We also had some mozzarella, tomato and peppers which was also tasty. We tasted two different types of pizza: margherita and pepperoni. The pepperoni was amazing-a crowd favorite for sure! The staff were so attentive and kind-especially Wilbur. We can't wait to come back!

Great little pizza parlor to grab a pie. One pizza was a good size for a couple, especially when you add breadsticks. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, however they only accept cash. There is an ATM in the restaurant in case you don't arrive with cash on hand.

It was okay. We were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon. It’s cash only, which was fine for us, but many left because of it. We had margarita pizza it was just OK. There were six slices and three of us; yet, we were not able to eat it all because it was not that great. The hostess had an attitude problem, but our waiter was nice and friendly.

Instead of trying to write a review, I just asked my family what came to mind when they thought of the pizza. They said: “Good, yummy, tasty, savory, authentic, a taste of Italy, you’d imagine yourself in Italy, unmatched in America, enjoyed every taste, history, pizza at its best, first American pizzeria, I drove to NYC just for this pizza, vegan options, worth the drive, have no fear good food is here” As added context, just last year, we visited and tried the original Lombardi’s in Naples.

This pizza shop is simply a tourist trap. We arrived and were seated quite quickly, but were left for a long while before having a drinks order taken and even given menus. Once we looked at the pizza list, we were shocked to see it was $30 a pizza! Once it arrived, it was averaged sized, greasy and tough. The pepperoni on top was over cooked and the cheese was cheap. It is profit over pizza. I can recommend a pizza slice place just up the street that does cheap, delicious slices of pizza that are enormous! Honestly, avoid at all costs. Average service, poor pizza and expensive drinks

It is claimed to be the first pizza restaurant in the United States. taste sensation ... Unsurprisingly, could this be the taste of authentic charcoal-roasted thin-skinned pizza? Only cash is accepted in the store and there is atm to withdraw money. The staff are still very friendly and patient with the variety of dishes

Lombardi's must have changed ownership during Covid. The restaurant is now only the corner location -- the other two dining rooms, including the one with the original coal oven -- are gone. And so is the famous pizza. What they serve now is an insult to the real Lombardi's. Skip this place. Go to Joes!! Or John's.

Asking someone that's lived in New York for 20+ years where to get authentic New York style pizza, he gave us three options. I don't even remember the other two because when he said "oldest pizzaria in America" in Little Italy we thought why even consider anywhere else. Be prepared they, just like everywhere else in Little Italy and China Town only take cash. We got 2 larges for $60, but everything is expensive in New York. That's probably a pretty average price. Be sure to get a picture of the oven, it says 1905 on the brick.

After 120 years you would expect a restaurant to be able to get a pizza right. Fortunately, Lombardi's doesn't disappoint. The pizzas were substantial and delicious - the tomato sauce they use is a real stand out and you can tells it's home-made as opposed to out of a jar. They also use good quality mozzarella and peperoni. Service was good and prices were fair considering the quality.

Lombardi's used to be my favorit pizza while in New York. But it has become an expensive and impersonal turist trap. Lombardi´s was always expensive but I always payed with a smile. Now it´s got blend, chaepo pizzas with bad and impersonal service. Lombardi´s seem to have fallen victim to greed with no real ambition to serve the customer. The service gets too stars from me ´caus the girl serving our table smiled ones and was doing her best but the guy in the door and the rest were rude and impolite. Not going back.

Lombardis is the pizzeria that has the oldest opening date in the United States in 1905! And it is one of the most mythical in New York! Located in the neighborhood of LITTLE ITALY Charming area! The pizzas we had for lunch, well sized and the dough very good! Pepperoni for my taste I found it quite spicy, but I tell you it is a personal opinion of mine!! From when we ordered until they were brought to the table about 15 minutes wait! We thought we would have no place on arrival because we were a group of 7 people, but we had no problem! As for the price we got about 30 dollars per person with tip and taxes included

We read that this was one of the best places to get pizza in NYC. Our table of 4 all thought it was okay. We ordered 2 pizzas, a salad and fountain drinks, the bill was $125. A bit steep for ok pizza and some sodas. Also, they only take cash, just an fyi. The seating area is quite small and there is one restroom (all gender), there was a line the entire time we were there. Lastly, the employees were not friendly, definitely bordering on rude. We would not go back-there is definitely better pizza in NYC

A classic New York pizzeria. The pizza is very delicious, the service is fast and friendly. I recommend going early because there are always a lot of people and the place is not that big.

Some of the best pizza ever! Food was delicious and the service was great! Will definitely go back if I am ever in Little Italy!

This was a great experience and my family loved it and we miss it already great food and great sides and the workers were so nice

Nice historic location in Soho, but I think basically a tourist trap. If you’re ok with some expensive pizza in an atmospheric setting, this will work fine. But the meatballs tasted frozen and warmed-over, everything came bathed in an identical red sauce, and the cocktails were as expensive as you’d get in a hotel roof bar. Other stuff nearby is better.

Smiling and friendly welcome. We are therefore in a place which has a history (old photo near the toilets) and which now obviously surfs on it. The frame is colorful. The pizzas were neither great nor bad.

Place is completely inaccessible for wheelchair users inside or out. Stairs to get inside and no ramp and it is very narrow in there. Outside maybe you can squash yourself at one of the table if you are lucky. They also don’t accept cards, although they have an ATM inside for a fee. So if you are a disabled tourist in a wheelchair without cash - you have just wasted all this time pushing your chair over here.

Went with some friends who had previously visited. We ordered mixed drinks, italian soda and one pizza for the four of us to share. The mixed drinks were very expensive and the Italian soda tasted better! The pizza was good but nothing to brag about. Once we ordered, we didn’t see the waiter much at all. There was a large table of gentlemen that he spent most of his time with. We had to find the waiter to ask for the check. FYI-the restaurant is cash only.

You must eat at the original pizzeria in America! Neat atmosphere, wait staff was really friendly. Good, affordable prices.

My husband an I had read up on this first pizzaria restaurant in the U.S. and it did not disappoint. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table but it was well worth it. The pizza and calzone we had was delicious. Best I’ve had outside of Naples, Italy. I definitely recommend it.

Tourist trap. Food and wine ranged from mediocre to disaster. Overpriced, tiny pizzas, poor service.

I love history, whether it's wars or sports or politics or even pizzerias. So it was a fascinating experience for my wife and I to have lunch at Lombardi's, which opened first pizza parlor in the United States in l905. Located at 32 Spring Street, on the corner of Mott Street in Manhattan's Little Italy neighborhood, it is a landmark restaurant serving wood-fired thin crust Neapolitan pizza. Lombardi's motto? If you aren't familiar with the process, go to the source. For pizza, go to Lombardi's. Now I get it, why I should have more respect for Neapolitan or Margherita pizza when compared to Chicago's thin crust or deep dish variations. Neapolitan is made with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. The tomatoes must be either San Marzano or pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio, which grow on the volcanic plain to the south of Mount Vesuvius in Italy. The cheese must be mozzarella di bufalo compana, a protected designation of origin cheese made with the milk from water buffalo raised in the marshlands of Campania and Lozio in a semi-wild state or fior dilatte, a cow's milk. The dough must be kneaded by hand or with a low-speed mixer. Baked for 60 to 90 seconds in a 485-degree wood-fired oven, then eaten immediately. Open from noon to 10 Sunday through Thursday and noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday, Lombardi's offers an all-day menu that touches all bases. For starters, we shared a Caesar salad with traditional Caesar dressing infused with anchovies and served with rustic toasted croutons and topped with shaved parmesan cheese and Grandma Grace's meatballs, two four-ounce beef and pork meatballs topped with Grandma's Sunday gravy and shaved romano cheese. For our main course, we chose Lombardi's original Margherita with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce and sweet Italian sausage and topped with roma and basil. For dessert, it's hard to beat New York cheesecake.

This sin't the original location but Lombardi's is acknowledged as the first "pizza parlor" in The US. While growing up and living in the NYC area most of my life, I never got to go here. I was always a Ray's fan along with our local places. It is still seen as a go to place for pizza in NYC. We took a recent trip back to NYC as we are now transplants in Florida where music, bread. bagels and pizza go to die. We waited about a half hour to get in and the atmosphere is great and adorned with celebrity photos though there certainly seemed to be one or two or more too many of the current owner (LOL). Unfortunately, the pizza not so much. It was small, too chewy and expensive. This is coal oven pizza. My wife and I finished a whole pizza and could have ate more but why bother at these prices. The service was quick and attentive as needed. Leaving, I chastised (HaHa) my wife for her not wanting to sit outside in the cold while we had sloppy, greasy wonderful slices from Joe's. while regretting giving in to her. Always go with your gut!

This was high on our list of places to visit when we got to NYC as we had heard good things. Sadly it did not live up to the hype. Our first server was slow, inattentive and disinterested. The second server (shift change?) was better though thankfully. Pizzas were small for the price and just ok. We had Grimaldi’s during a past visit and were hoping this pie would be at least as good. It was not even close! Crust was dry and lacked flavour and chew. Also not nearly enough cheese. The surprising win for this visit was the delicious house made frozen sangria. We will likely not eat here again.

We recently ate a Lombardi's while in NYC and had their clam pizza. We were a little skeptical...what a mistake, this thing is like nothing else! Lombardi's takes their crust and brushes it with garlic butter and puts it in the oven to seal. They then put on the fresh steamed clams and put it back into the oven to get everything hot. Eating it is like having linguini and clam sauce in a crust. This is the only place we've ever had it and we will certainly go back on our next trip to NYC!

So let’s start with the good, Pizza was good if a little expensive even for NYC. Service rushed and and seem like they really couldn’t care less, Facilities awful! Cash only!!!’ Really in 2022. Only 1 toilet for all customers terrible long queues and pretty awful.

The meatballs were excellent. The pizza was very good. It’s so fresh. We loved the char on it. The atmosphere was neat. Staff was friendly and efficient.

First pizzeria in North America and still serves the best pizza. Service was really good as well. The place is cash only which is a good thing to know in advance.

I have been to Lombardi's Pizza 5 times in my life. It is sad that this 115 year old establishment has become a tourist trap where food and service is similar to the Dominos Pizza down the street. I have run and owned pizzerias and I took my daughter to what was once the Mecca of Pizza in NY and possibly the US. However, disgusting is putting it mildly. There Margarita Pizza was tasteless the sauce was heavily tomato paste with little or no condiments, the "buffalo mozzarella" was so thin that you could clearly see the red sauce below it, and the dough was hard. I'm not talking crispy, thin, or tender. I'm talking way too chewy, and so tough that it would have better served me as soles for my shoes. The Ricotta/Eggplant pizza had so much poor grade ricotta that it felt as if my mouth was full of cotton balls. The service was extremely slow and if I didn't complain I would have probably received my order 30 minutes after the 35 minutes I had already waited. It's a shame that one of America's Premier Pizza Restaurant has put profit $35.00 per 10" pies over quality.

This was the first restaurant we tried after we landed in NYC. Although we picked a place in Little Italy, we weren't expecting pizza to be this good! I can honestly say that for the next 15 days we tried to find another place that served a better pizza, and we tried Joe's and many more. We shared a pepperoni pie for two and we felt it was enough for both. Service was quick and fair. Recommend you to try this place

Work trip to New York and had to go to the oldest Pizza joint in the Big Apple. Margarita pizza was superb. Great vibe, very goos service, but be prepared as it is cash only. This is a must do visit if NY style pizza is your thing! It was excellent.

I heard so much about this place but it turned out to be a big disappointment. Pizza was tasteless l.

Lombardi’s has always been one of my nostalgic favourites in New York City, so on my most recent visit I decided to return for a flavour of great pizza. Well, I was deluded in that thought. The restaurant was not very busy when all the other places in the neighbourhood were packed, that should have been my first warning. The second indicator of something having changed was the absence of any Italian “flavour” among the staff, they seemed bored and uninterested in serving me even when they were not busy. Undeterred I ordered the pepperoni (double!) pizza and a beer. It came swiftly and my verdict was: the bread crust was flavourless and the centre soggy, the tomato sauce was the weakest I have ever tasted, it had limited flavour and a strange granular texture. So pretty disappointing, uncaring staff, distinctly average food and no Italian atmosphere, while for what you pay the prices are very elevated. I do not know what has happened, but I will not be returning.

We had to try Lombardi's, America's first pizzeria! The pizza was delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust. The atmosphere was buzzing, and it felt like stepping back in time. A must-try for pizza lovers!

I advise EVERYONE to not going in this place! I would have given a zero if I had the chance. Maybe this was a good pizzeria when it was holded by italians, but know there are some maybe ispanic people holding it, and they cook something that not even in a dream I would call "pizza". On italian highways we got service areas where they cook a better pizza than this. And the most outrageous thing is that you pay 22 dollars for a Margherita!!! Maybe I could even justify this price if the product was amazing and the raw materials were excellent, but that's not, ABSOLUTELY NOT, the case! So, summing up: -this is not a pizza -their "pizza" sucks -the price is too high for what they give you -it is disrespectful to all italians and to the tradition of italian pizza to receive customers in this place, furnished as a typical italian place, and give them this "things" You'd better close this place to respect Italian history and maybe Lombardi's history. In pictures I show you what would have been a normal italian pizza and instead what they gave me... draw your conclusions.

Amazing pizza, perfect service and fantastic atmosphere -proper Italian New York feel with really friendly staff without being too much. You started our holiday off on the perfect note!

Went to try the pizza, and it did not disappoint. While I prefer a smaller crust edge, it had a thin crust, and great flavor. Only issue was the 12" pie with no other size options. Note that they only take cash!!

Went to Lombardi‘s for Pizza tonight. We know the place from a long past and it is sad to see what has happened. The restaurant has become a tiny, uncomfortable place. Pizza‘s have become half size and double in price. It used to be a special place a few years ago. Suggest to avoid. There is better pizza places. Always sad to see iconic places to fade.

The place was great, and the pizza was very good. We enjoyed the experience, and I would definitely come back here when nearby.

We visited at around 4pm and there weren’t many other people there. Despite that it took them ages to serve the food and attend (there was lots of staff though). We got a margarita pizza which was tasty but by far nothing like real Italian pizza. They served the water in cheap plastic cups too and did not bring the cheque for ages. Wouldn’t rate it as high as most people do.

Went here a few years ago and had a great experience. Went here today and it was terrible. They changed their menu (used to do large pizzas now it is 12 inch 6 slice only) and increased prices and decreased quality. Will not return. Stay away and go to one of the numerous pizza places in little italy with excellent pizza. This is not it.

Being ushered through the main dining room past the kitchen to the back room made me feel like Henry in Goodfellas. For that alone it was worth the visit. That and the Italian decor and photos of celebs on the walls made it a night to remember. The food itself (we were there for the pizza but also sampled the calzone) was not unlike any decent pizza you could find anywhere even outside of New York. Of course, I'm used to the world's best pizza as found in select pizza joints in Brooklyn, and, on a cold winter night in Nola, this place was all about the ambience, so no regrets there. The pizza wasn't great but better than average, so if TA offered a good rating I would put it solidly there. Check out our experience with the "Goodfellas kitchen walk" on our you tube channel keto beach in the new york videos we posted to see the entire dining experience we enjoyed.

I have been visiting Lombardis for over 10 years. I have not visited since the pandemic. I was very excited to be going back. All I have to say is that it was completely disappointing and not at all what it used to be. Very sad to see such an establishment go downhill. I would accept a price change on the menu if it went with the quality but that is not at all the issue here. Prices went up and quality went completely downhill. The service was very disappointing, our drinks came after 15 minutes and our appetizers and pizza came at the same time. Very disappointing. Definitely need to find a new pizza place in NYC.

This restaurant is a tourist trap. Overpriced, no flavor and definitely not worth the visit. Save your money and go to Bleeker street Pizza. More variety and tastes much better.

We had princess treatment fr fr food real good yummy this place is so sigma not skibidi no joke chat very sigma food for kings and queens

My friend had recommended Lombardi's to me, and BOY WAS I GLAD!!! We had ordered the Lombardi Specialty, which had clams. Yummy!!! Service was great too! We even got to tour the kitchen. Definitely pizza you won't regret having.

Was just in Italy last summer and had some great pizza there, but here, totally loved their pizza (one of best in US in my opinion as I like NY style pizza). They had some limitations in terms of menu, but for what they make, they were great in my opinion. No complaints here. It's a small setting - nothing fancy and you have to pay cash (strange), but still the history and the like worth it. Went at an odd time so no problem at all being seated.

Very overpriced, but good Italian style pizza. I had the double pepperoni. Crispy, good ingredients, a little small though. Definitely a tourist trap. I didn't have time to go to all the best places and got a coupon so I decided to try this on my way to other things. Good service and friendly people.

I absolutely do not recommend! Tourist trap Nothing Italian The pizza is overcooked, hard dough and tasteless The uninteresting tomato mozzarella salad And neither is iced tea. A real tourist trap too bad!

2 medium pizzas, 3 beers an iced tea, $150. Very expensive, even by NYC standards. White pizza with spinach was bland, sausage was average. Will not go back, would not recommend.

The pizza is ordinary. The servers are Puerto Rican. Nothing Italian apart from the red checkered tablecloth. No espresso To flee

As a pizza lover this place should visit when you visit NY I recommend you on the outside of the restaurant (terrace ) Enjoy a rich pizza accompanied by the waiter's talk and talk about its history and the history of the place They are definitely not cheap pizzas but well worth it besides that they are rich

I knew Lombardi a few years ago at the time when the pizzas were available in 24 inches and were delicious. Today's pizzas are small, overcooked, tasteless and very expensive, starting at $22 excluding tax and service. It's the end of an era. I won't go back!!

Pizza was incredibly overpriced and not all that tasty- It had way too much tomato sauce and no flavor- we have had plenty of better pizza in NYC- I can’t begin to understand the hype about this place-

The hostess was a bit abrupt at first, but we heard the place was was good, so we waited a bit over 30 minutes for a table around 1:30. The pizza was good but I've definitely had better. (pesto and margherita - the pesto was better). The waiter was all business, service was quick and efficient, but not warm/engaging.

I have been going to Lombardi’s and Grimaldi’s (later Julianna’s) ever since I started visiting NYC for last 15+ years and always go back and forth on which I like better. The last 2 times I thought I definitely liked Lombardi’s more. Our experience this trip (3/28/21) has totally changed that. The pizza was so bad and so different I asked our waiter if it was under new management or ownership. He told me it’s the same owner for 30 years but I don’t if the same people are preparing the food because it was awful. It literally tasted and was the size of a Digiorno. I also asked if there were different size pizzas amd was told no but prior to the pandemic they had large pizzas. Summary: The pizza was small, disgusting and the biggest disappointment of our trip. We will not go back. Tradition over.

This used to be our favourite pizza in NYC but boy has that changed. From other reviews I uncovered that the oven had changed but that is not it. The pizza is much smaller and the dough tasted different. Still a cash only restaurant which is inconvenient. This is overpriced and there is much better pizza in NYC.

We enjoyed the meatballs as an appetizer with bread sticks. Should have stopped there but had to have pizza and it was delicious. Only could eat half and that was a struggle. It was so good. As the title says cash only so come prepared and enjoy!

We have been before, but probably won't return. Our pizza was overdone and not at all like we had the first time. We will choose somewhere else. Very disappointed. Don't forget that it is cash only.

Excellent pizza place where history and taste join together. The place is nice, the pizza is very good and the neighborhood as well. excellent experience. Unfortunately, they don't accept credit cards. So, you need to go outside to an ATM to get cash in order to pay. Not very convenient.

What a fabulous place for pizza! The atmosphere is great and the history is pretty cool too. Would definitely visit again. Pizza was amazing!

When we got to Lombardis and they had a table for 4 inside...we showed our vaccination cards and went right in. The water was great! We ordered a pizza with proscuittu, a salad to share and I ordered a chicken parm. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the chicken was tender and the SAUCE was the best part! I had never been to Lombardis before but I will GO BACK FOR THE CHICKEN PARM ALONE! My daughter also left a bag with some pastries from Le Paine when we left and when she went back, it was still there and not thrown away. We loved everythng about our visit!

the guide suggested the pizzeria in little Italy as one of the best traditional pizza in Little italy: maybe this was true when the restaurant was opened. We have to wait a bit and we paid 30 dollars for a pizza the is far far away from the typical italian dish . Disappointed

Great pizza and affordable prices. Service was spot on fantastic. Easy to get to lower Manhattan location.

I could not disagree more with the last few reviewers, I got to Lombardi's five minutes after they opened on a Monday afternoon and I was lucky to get a table. Even with the amount of people the staff were friendly, fast, and efficient. My pizza came out fast and was piping hot and perfectly cooked. Great pizza.

This pizza place is ranked on of the top in NYC and I understand why. Everything felt so simple and casual and yet the food was amazing. We got the wedge salad and it honestly surpassed our expectations. Their dressing really enhanced the salad. We got 2 margarihta pizzas and added on roasted garlic. The sauce was on point – tasted fresh and was also well flavored. The crust was cooked to the right temperature. Cheese wasn’t excessive, just the right amount to compliment the pizza. Service: People were fast and food came out quickly Price: Considering how good the food is, the prices are very very reasonable. Ambiance: A typical casual pizza spot, there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Note: Like many pizza places – this is cash only.

i had picked out this place as a must visit before we came and it did not disappoint, the pizza was superb, the best i've ever had.the service was excellent and the atmosphere was great, really authentic new york experience.

The sausage on my pizza tasted just like my Nonnos polpette, my mother used to fry peppers with sausage as a treat so having this on a pizza was like a blast from the past. A truly authentic place, would recommend for a taste of true Italy.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenage children) - 3 vegetarians and 1 vegan - who have some fussy eaters Stumbled across here and thought it looked interesting. There was a 25-minute wait (which turned out to be 10) and we were seated in the outside heated section. I'm disappointed I can't remember our server's name because he was amazing. Young lad who was so proud of his family's association with the restaurant and his love of pizza. The pizza was reasonably priced for New York (I've seen some that say it was overpriced, but as a tourist it was a lot less than many other places we went) and tasted amazing. What was even better is that they cater for vegans with vegan cheese. They don't advertise it, but I enjoyed an amazing vegan pizza. In fact the best vegan pizza I've ever had. The others in the party went for the basic cheese pizza and a ravioli. Both were extremely fresh and tasty. They were also served relatively quickly. We mentioned that it was our son's birthday in one of the conversations with the server and surprisingly they brought out a piece of cheesecake with a candle for him on the house. Totally made his evening. You just can't buy service like that. I find in NYC that servers expect tips without putting in the effort. But here it felt like we were valued. It was great speaking with someone who explained the history and was able to share anecdotes about the city. We all enjoyed our time here. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Cash only is a minor inconvenience and the one toilet thing unhelpful, but not really something to mark them down on and can't see how they could build more, so just accept it and enjoy!

Not impressed at all, very overpriced for what it is. Pizza was mainly dry crust and tasteless, my husband wasn’t impressed when they take your payment card away from the table then bring it back without pin required. On the plus side cheesecake was delicious

The food was "ok." The Meatballs were excellent, but overall the portions were pretty small considering the prices. The service was fine. I didn't order the pizza because the pies looked "Really Small" for $30 plus. Beware...it's CASH-Only. They have an ATM in the restaurant, but the fees are not worth it after you're already being overcharged. Worth a visit, but I won't be back.

Used to come here twice a year for years when an Italian friend of mine visits NY and we both loved it . Last Sunday We ordered the usual margarita pizza with extra mozzarella with a pitcher of coke. Was kind of shocked when the pizza arrived as it was the small pizza so i figured i forgot to tell the waiter a large. Then i realized when i looked at the menu now they only sell one size pizza,, , a pie with 6 slices, which are about half the size as a ny pizzeria slice. They no longer offer the large 8 slice pie. And now the small pie is costs more than the large used to be,, it was $26 for a small pie with extra mozzarella .. are they joking ?? And the pitcher of coke which used to be about $6 is now $12 .. billcame to about 42 dollars,, 50 with tip,, for three small slices of pizza and two glasses of coke each.... I see what they are trying to do is make you order more pizzas if you are with a group. They expanded their pizza selection ,there is like 10 different pizzas on the menu, some of them over $30, pastas, salads, desserts,, they should have stuck to how it was before, i was suprised there was absolutely no waiting to get in as before,, now i see why... wont be going back there anytime soon,, johns or Keste is better

Every time we go to NYC, we always go to Lombardi’s. The pizza is the best. This is a cash only restaurant but well worth the visit.

Restaurant Italien un Little Italy supposed to be the best Pizza in NYC ????? First, they only accept cash payement no credit cards and they recommend the ATM inside the restaurant to withdraw money and they charge you a commission and the commisison is for the ower of the restaurant. Verify the bill at the end of dinner and don’t leave a tip they already put in the bill the local tax) and they only give you a manual bill. Avoid this restaurant because the ower only wants to win money and he don’t pay the full gouvernement tax, This is a fraude tax. Don’t charge the local tax to the guests. In the entrance, no indication they only accept cash. Don’t stop at Lombardi’s restaurant. There are mano restaurants around where you can pay with CREDIT CARD. There is only a positive point: sime waiters except the cashier who receive the money on the departure rude and unpolite. I Hope this comment help the others people. I am foward an email to the NYC tax center to inform about the practice of the Lombardi’s restaurant.

Having been to the second oldest pizzeria, my husband made me go to the oldest! Haha! I didn’t mind at all - it was really fast and tasty! Would definitely return!

Wow! Great pizza and awesome memory to make at New York’s first pizzeria. I loved mine that was design your own - Italian sausage, spinach that was prepared in a tasty way before putting on pizza and light on the red sauce. All the staff was very helpful and the restaurant is efficiently run. I would highly recommend. Note: all members have to be present when your table is called.

So, let me start by saying that I have been going to Lombardi's for years and recommending it to EVERYONE when they are visiting or planning to visit NYC. It has been my families favorite pizzeria for over 30 years. Today that changed! Why? Disregard the pictures of the pies you are seeing on line and on previous Trip Advisor reviews you are no longer getting them. As of 4 months ago some genius decided to change the size from a standard large pie to a mini version. There used to be a choice to size, large (standard NYC full pie 8 regular slices) or small (one meant for an individual6 very small slices) and the price difference would reflect the one you would be getting. You are still paying the price of the large but now they only offer miniature version of the pie and charging their customers the price you used to pay for the large. OUTRAGEOUS! It is no longer an 8 slice pie, it is a 6 slice pie. The pieces are meant for a child not a family going out to have some real NY pie. We ordered two pies and 4 ice teas and were charge $69.00 Double the price I would have paid for the normal 8 slice pie just a few months ago. WHAT???? The 8 slice pie was enough for 2 people with some left over, this mini pie is more like and individual pie on a kiddie menu! I did not feel like I was eating a slice, I felt like a kid sitting at the kiddie table, eating a kiddie slice. The service was also sub par. The waitress delivered one napkin for 2 people and when our ice tea arrived there was no lemon, we had to ask twice. Bad service, overpriced, and the feel of being served a kiddie meal. RIP OFF!!! AVOID! Go to Grimaldi's in Brooklyn instead. Nice Views of the Brooklyn Bridge and a grown up version of a pizza without the rip off price effect. So done with this place.
Excellent pizza
The Pizzas were delicious, crispy and tasty. As an Italian, I loved them!! We tried the mortadella and pistachio one and also the margherita with aubergines… all the ingredients were fresh!! If I return to New York, it will definitely be a fixed stop.
