Very sweet people , nice place to be with Mister Landel ! A guy who met so many VIP’s such Martin Luther King ,… Come and enjoy the Harlem’s moment !

We were there on a Saturday night and really enjoyed the live jazz, great food, and tasty drinks. We would definitely visit this restaurant again!

Definitely a place to visit when you're in Harlem. Excellent food, friendly staff,... I will put this in my list for my next visit to NYC.

Wouldn’t return... !! I use to wonder what was the rave and hoot about LONDELS. Don’t come here. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

When you can catch this place open for business the food it good, but I never see the doors open for business. Not sure of their hours of operation

We were greeted at the door by Londel and after explaining to him that his restaurant was recommended by our hotel but we did not have a booking, his response was “My house is your house” . We were shown to our table by Londel, introduced to our waiter, and it just flowed into a memorable night. The food was great (the ribs were special) … the drinks were cold, and the service was A1. We couldn’t fault it … a fantastic night out at a reasonable price.

There are lots of new restaurants to patronize in Harlem, but Londel's has the formula right. New chefs, architectural awards, and the new restaurant row of Harlem are good, but the key here is service and good food. The owner's presence is also invaluable, and whether it is your first or twenty-first time there, he greets you and appreciates your business.

We went to Londel's with a large group that included my husband, teenage children and other adults. I have been to Londel's two other times. However, this time was a Friday night after work and it seemed to me that the restaurant has been expanded. Mr. Londel was there to greet us. The food, atmosphere and entire vibe was excellent. We will be going back often. Even though I live on Long Island - Londel's is worth the trip. We were also entertained by great jazz music. I would recommend without hesitation.

Good food, and great staff. We went for dinner and were not disppointed. While we didn't return, they have live music and no cover on weekends. Close to Harlem and very close to our B&B - something different and tasty.

Loved the live music on a Friday and Saturday night. We thoroughly recommend the Southern Fried Chicken and Macaroni (and the Pinot Grigot, of course).

Friendly place, nice food and good service. A little bit touristy [tourist buses dropping people for lunch] but definitely worth a visit.

We were referred to Londels and were met by the owner Mr.Londel, a retired policeman with a twinkling eye. It's obviously a hot spot for locals most of whom seemed to know each other. The music was great - a 2 piece jazz unit. However, the food was average to say the least, the prices were on the high side, and the waitress we had was very off handed. It was our 1st night in harlem, and from then on we dined downtown and grabbed the subway back ( very safe )

Meal, where already Obama and Clinton were, is exciting. Friendly service and good beer and wine.

Caesar Salad, and Crab Cakes....real real good, loved the crowd....Harlem at its best. Real laid back and sophisticated

This was a nice place to have a drink and a meal in the local neighborhood - nice staff and great atmosphere

A little hidden gem in Harlem. Not many at the hotel we were staying at was familiar with this spot when we were asking around about it trying to decide if we should go or not. Even people that said they lived in the area had not heard of the spot. Well, we went any way and was very glad we did. The staff was great. I think they have the best wait staff in all of NYC. The food was good too. If you are looking for some decent soul food, and good music, this is your spot. This place is better than some of your more well known soul food spots in Harlem.

Place was ghetto fabulous. Rude staff and unprofessional. Waited long time to eat and restaurant wasn’t even crowded and the phone greeter needs training. I will never go back there

I have been returning to Londel's restaurant for many years now, and recently I've been taking friends of mine here - from out of town and locally - to meet Londel and experience his and his staff's always warm hospitality, and to taste some of the tastiest ribs, fried chicken, sweet potato and more that's part of his Sunday brunch. What a great way to go out on a Sunday - after an equally warm although sometimes considerably more rousing church service. Excellent all 'round!

My husband does not get excited about food, and he told me to get ready for these mushrooms to kick your ***. he got the steak with mushroom and potatoes and cornbread. I got the famous honey BBQ sauce ribs with candied yams, macaroni and cheese and rice. Even the rice was amazing. When is rice amazing?! I was so enjoying it I was trying to get every single grain of rice and every drop of yams. The ribs literally fell off of the bones on to the plates, The wait staff were so cool. Even though they were in tux's which is a little intimidating since i dont usually eat in places like that, they were full of bug, warm smiles and even helped us find some jazz clubs to go to and give us directions. That was so great, The head chef (Londell?) from the website was at the bar when we walked in. In his hat, talking with friends. I was a little starstruck. I definitely recommend this place to all. It was expensive and it was worth every penny that we spent! Love you Londel's!!!

We turned up without booking on a Friday Jazz evening. The place was packed but they managed to find us a little table. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was great. Enjoyed the music, too!

The food is good (the pork ribs are superb!), the music is good as well and the atmosphere is charming. The service was quite sloooowwww (our waiter seemed to thing about other things).

Very good! Cool location and excellent food. You can eat everything you want and the first drink is included. Great experience in the heart of Harlem

Before going to Londel's, I read many positive reviews, and so many raved about the food. After going there myself, I can only guess that others may have had issues with their sense of taste on that particular day or they have never had an above average/great/incredible meal in their life. Mediocre? No, wouldn't even go that far. Why? Well, here's what I thought about the food: 1. Green Salad. Romaine lettuce, tasteless tomatoes and radishes with no bite. OK, well, people don't go here for the salad. Let's move on... 2. Potato salad. First time I ever had a potato that was completely texture, not a single bit taste that could be detected. I have had mild versions of this dish before, but you needed a bloodhound to pick up any distinctive scent or taste to this food. 3. Macaroni and cheese. Would have been better if they used the box-and-powder stuff. At least that has some flavor. 4. Fried Chicken, Jackpot! THIS dish had some seasoning! Hallelujah!! Could I have done the same kind of job on this dish at home, absolutely. Had flavor, but it too was nothing special. If you really want Southern Soul food, pass Londel's by and had to Sylvia's where you won't mind the extra calories,

We were staying at a nearby B&B and wanted to get some food in the local area. This place turned out to be an excellent choice. The cocktails and food (specifically the cornbread and Mac&Cheese, wow!) were great, but the best part was the atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by here for dinner or just drinks at the bar if you're in the area.

Me and a sister friend took on a musical followed by dinner at Londell's. The atmosphere reminded me of a spot I visited while in VA. The food was great and the hospitality even better. If you love Mac n cheese and all of the above...I suggest you stop on by. I will definitely be going back👍

Without any doubt the best restaurant during my citytrip in New York. The boss is an amazing guy. Need to be visited.

The evening started with a marvellous cocktail conjured up by Naz. We then had a very good meal and danced to the live jaz band. The staff were very friendly and the evening was well worth the trip to Harlem 142nd street

My family and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Londel's restaurant in NYC which is located on Fredrick Douglas Blvd. between 139th & 140th street. We had a very tasty buffet that included fried chicken, collard greens, potato salad and rolls.

Food was excellent and large portions. I ordered the pork chops and 2 were served. My husband had the ribs and it covered the plate. Reasonably priced for New York.

We went here to celebrate my dads Birthday, the food is very good and affordable. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere

We had a family birthday celebration - all five of us from Australia. We had passed by on the day before, and were made very welcome. Meals and drinks on the night were great. There's a bar, some high seats with round tables, and there's the restaurant as well. It's on the corner of 140th. If you're using public transport from downtown take the D train, get off at 135th and walk through and up a few blocks. High recommendation.

Our bus group organizer arranged for our dinner to be at Londel's Supper Club following the play. The private dining area was a bit small for the size of our group, as the aisle space in between the tables wasn't sufficient enough to allow a person to get up without causing everyone else to get up as well (especially if you were sitting on an end close to the wall). This room would be great for say a group of 20-30, but anything larger it can be cramped depending on where you sit. We had a buffet style arrangement with salad, fried chicken, green beans, ribs. The food was pretty tasty. The fried chicken was seasoned just enough, and the green beans were cooked just right. The salad was also nice and fresh. Staff was friendly, and kept the drink refills coming pretty frequently. There was also mini cornbread (golden and fluffy) and cookies (which I didn't try) for dessert. Overall it was a decent spot for a quick after play dinner. Not close to Times Square, as this is in Harlem, but it only took about 15-20min or so to get there. They also had outside seating available (I enjoyed the people watching after the meal as we waited for the bus), and the bar looked like a cozy spot to hang out. I'm from the city myself, so the spot was cool, however it you are looking for something upscale in an upscale fancy neighborhood, then this is not the location for you. From the sign on the door looks like they have jazz some nights, and the restaurant does have a jazzy feel to it from what I could see from the main area. If I were to visit again, I would rather not do buffet, but have an opportunity to try some of the other items on the menu. If you are in the area, I would say its worth dropping in.

If you are in Harlem and end up hungry this is the restaurant to try. great atmosphere and good service. They have live jazz on the weekend.

We were directed to Londel's by our innkeeper and were initially suspicious because it was so easy to get a reservation on a Saturday night. We were positively impressed once we arrived. The service could not have been better. The young woman who assisted us was friendly, efficient and accommodating. The food was pretty good. Some of us had the blackened catcfish which was actually perfect. Not too spicy and cooked just right...not dried out. My husband had the smothered pork chops and it was also good and plentiful. The mac and cheese was like I make at home, so I loved it. The greens were quite tasty. All in all, I don't know why the place was not fuller than it was. We enjoyed ourselves there very much.

Our friend's rehearsal dinner was held at Londel's and it was an incredible experience. They have some of the best mac and cheese I have ever tasted. The ribs and the salmon were also amazing! Our next trip to NYC will absolutely have Londel's on our list of things to do! By the way - we had a group of about 30 people and the servers did an amazing job of keeping drinks filled and everyone happy. If they can do that, I am sure that they do a wonderful job for smaller parties.

Warm welcome, relaxed, good service, great food and really great jazz. Our first evening ever in NY couldn't have been better.

Sunday brunch buffet. Other than being hot, there's not much more to say about the food...good or bad. NY eateries are usually able to put something more into standard dishes. Not so much here. As I said, nothing terribly bad to report either. If the location is convenient and you're hungry, it works. However, if you are able, find another location to eat.

we ate here on New Years Eve 2014. Restaurant was very quiet. Food was well priced - good portions and well presented. A great Harlem local restaurant.

I visit Harlem fairly often to get my soul food and jazz brunch fix from its many restaurants. Today was Londel’s turn. I’ve visited here before for dinner and was happy with everything from the service to food. Unfortunately this trip was a huge disappointment. Service was attentive and cordial but that’s where it ended. The food was almost inedible. Cold, bland and as a fellow patron stated it was dry and nasty! She loaded her plate and then handed it to her waitress and said get rid of it! I had to force myself to eat what was before me. The mimosa was decent. Funny thing is the owner stopped at our table to discuss the renovations but didn’t address the “food” being served. They certainly need to do better. Avoid the brunch and save your money! There are plenty of other spots worthy of your money/time/palate.

Good spot to enjoy Harlem, New York. Good service, friendly people and best dress restaurant owner that I have ever met He truly puts in together just like his restaurant

We arrived late one evening, tired and exhausted from a day around town. The restaurant had just finished service but served a lovely meal with attentive service. Thanks to all at Londel's!

Sunday brunch in Londel's.OMG.Went there at 11am,their opening time at sundays.Nice,Very helpful staff and food...truly soulfood.Meatloaf, sweet potatoes, baked caramelized apples,ribs,Chicken....taste was awesome and price of all, almost too cheap. This place will be my sunday brunch restaurant then i'm in New York.Restaurant is between W139Th and 140th street on 8 avenue and nearest metrostation is in 135th str.,so place is very easy to find.

Good food, very friendly and excellent service! There is a possibility to sit outside, which is a plus for me.

It's been about 15 years since my college buddies and I had a reunion here and I was pleasantly surprised that the manager PERSONALLY welcomed me back. The pan seared salmon was very good and my server Nici was very cordial and attentive. There was live Jazz- the Towner Galaher Trio (really swinging group) that enhanced the experience. Stop by if you're uptown on a Friday night!

Bit off the beaten track but made a special effort to track down a Soul Food Restaurant in Harlem. Found it easily and got there by the Subway Could not fault this place at all. Service was seamless, drinks kept arriving swiftly, dealt with professionally but at exactly the right pace. Tried for the first time a Mango Margarita, so nice I ended up drinking 3. Also they serve local Harlem brewed Sugar Hill Beer. Friendly and welcoming are at the heart of this restaurant, Mr Londel was present throughout the evening and went from table to table having a chat and making really sure everyone was happy. Not in the “Is everything ok” but really concerned, a true gentleman. If you find yourself in New York do make the effort you will not be disappointed… Would love to go back and experience a Jazz Evening!

Is my first time I come here tonight, I sat outside with my service dog...I order a t-bone steak medium rare, is perfect and so good. I like to come again.

The food looks and tastes homemade... nothing fancy, but enjoyable enough. We had the Sunday buffet..with chicken, meat, chili, slaw, and potatoes. Server was warm and welcoming; the place is roomy and light. Not a special restaurant, but a good place if you find yourself hungry in Harlem on a cold Sunday.

It was my husband's first trip to New York and his first time in Harlem so I wanted everything to be perfect. After a great afternoon strolling around, doing some shopping and meeting some great folks we were starving! Luckily, our tour guide Mr. Cliff Strome knew just the place. He took us to Londel's for a late lunch and the perfect end to an already perfect day. Londel's is one of those places "where everybody knows your name" - or Cliff's name, at least. Friendly, welcoming people combined with lots of laughter and tantalizing smells coming from the kitchen made us feel at home right away. Great drinks (the only Bloody Mary in New York where I didn't have to add Tabasco!) and excellent down home blackened catfish and fried chicken paired with yummy greens and mac 'n cheese were so satisfying that we ended up cancelling our pre-theatre dinner! The prices are reasonable and the portions plentiful; combined with the warm hospitality it insures that everyone who dines there will leave with a full belly and a smile on their face!

Dreadfull! Im not going into how bad it was. Harlem long ago abandoned this dreck of a place. It reeked of " going out if business "

my wife and I went there because we were staying at a B&B nearby. Good atmosphere good food and the band was really good.
the fish dishes are good
had the whiting fingers for app and the pan-seared salmon for entree-salmon was overcooked but coriander sauce was tasty. the other 4 guests w/ me were more impressed w/ the drinks than the food.
