Excellent Mexican restaurant with very good fajitas, tortillas, and guacamole. plenty of room for parking and the service was very good. Lots of room for large parties.

It’s a bold statement, I know, but it’s true. The rest of the menu is frankly a bit meh - but the fajitas are crazy good, and have been for years.

Superbly seasoned with a very intense smoky flavor. Perfectly cooked and moist. I've noticed Papasitos' fajitas have lost the quality they once had. Lupe's has not - it is still a spectacular meal.

We stopped here because it was very convenient from the freeway. My children ordered fajitas and they enjoyed it. I tried the crab and avocado salad which was new in their menu. It did not live up to my expectations. I think it had too much mayo or whatever dressing they used. I barely tasted the crab.

Oh my word! I am usually not a fan of beef fajitas because the meat is tough, but their beef was so tasty and you could cut it with a fork. The flour tortillas, guacamole and salsa were also very very good. It was our first time to eat at Lupe Tortilla and I am searching for another one to visit in the next city we go through in our travels.

The food is good . Excellent Mexican Restaurant . I visit my daughter in Houston once or twice a year and manage to go there several times . Ambiance is perfect , margaritas very good and so is the food . Service is very friendly .

The table side guacamole was great. Decent selection of beer. I had the beef fajitas which were very good, the single portion was big enough to share. Very nice service. We were able to sit outside.

Delicious food and very efficient staff! The food is truly Mexican, it doesn't take long and it's delicious! 👌🏼🙌🏼

The food was average and I don't think we will be going back to this restaurant. The atmosphere is very calm and nice. The restaurant is very beautiful inside;however, the food wasn't anything special.

I love this place. And I don't like Mexican! This is more than the regular Tex-mex. this food is actually very good. There are so many choices of restaurants in Houston for Mexican. I recommend this one!

Went there as part of a group of six on a Thursday for dinner. Had a great experience. They even brought us samples of the steak fajitas and they were really good. We had the queso for an appetizer and scraped the bowl clean. They have outstanding steak. The pico is a bit spicy - I needed some water to wash it down but I'm not a big fan of spicy hot food. I had the chicken quesadillas and they were quite good - especially with their awesome guacamole. Would definitely return here again. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was excellent also.

The food at Lupe Tortilla is great. The beef fajitas are the most flavorful I've ever eaten. Service was good, and we got a seat quickly on a crowded Friday night.

You will not be disappointed with the fajitas here - I recommend the beef - buttery and yummy! Margaritas were a great complement; also thought the chips and salsa were great! Service is attentive. Place closes early though surprisingly.

This is our family's go-to favorite for Tex-Mex in Houston. Servings are generous and my husband and I typically share small fajitas. Kids meals are huge and a steal at $5.99.

Great food and awesome service. I frequent this location for lunch. I’ve tried different things on the menu. I love the carne asada and taco salad. Oh I definitely would be remiss if I didn’t add that I love the Lupe Del Mar as well. You get nice portions of food for the cost. The manager will also stop by your table to ensure you are enjoying your experience. I shall return.

Let's be honest quality , serive and standards are not existent in Houston. There might be thousands of restaurant and many accolades for fine food in Houston but really it is trash. To be clear I am writing this review with the spirit of complete objectivity. Restaurant standards are set in Milano, Athens, New York and other fine cities. Back to Lupe....they are great. The food is fresh, tasty, clean and just goodddd!!!! The staff is experienced , happy and basically pleasant. I love this restaurant>

We discovered Lupe-Torilla (2414 Southwest Freeway) more than 10 years ago (when they still had the sandbox). Their fajitas are the best in Houston. I took many an international visitor there - the epitome of Tex-Mex food in Houston. We still enjoy going to the restaurant; have had many memorable family dinners there. On the other hand, the take out portion of the restaurant is truly a disaster. We order takeout from there, on average, once (or twice) per month and the summary below crystalizes our experiences over time. Tonight was a particularly egregious example so I will begin with it. Our son is moving out of Houston for a medical internship so we were in the mood to celebrate. He suggested Lupe's fajitas. My wife called to place a take out order and was placed on hold for ~5 min. When the server came on the line she was disconnected. Called back again and the same thing happened. The third time was the charm - the order was placed and we were given an estimated time. From prior experience, I knew that the order would not be completed at the scheduled time so I arrived 10 minutes after the promised time. Still not ready! Waited another 5-10 min while the male waiter hustled to pull the order together. Got home and as I unpacked the bag I realized they had failed to include tortillas. What are fajitas without tortillas? I got back in the car and drove the 12-15 min to Lupe Tortilla. I called en-route and explained the problem and was told they would be waiting for me by an apologetic young man. When I arrived the young woman behind the counter insisted on seeing my receipt - to prove that I had ordered fajitas. Of course, it was home in the bag with the other food. Nonetheless she was able to verify the order (another 3-4 min) and went back get the tortillas. Just then the man with whom I spoke arrived with the tortillas, most apologetic. The problems that we have observed with take out are: 1. Unrealistic promises for when the food will be ready. Expect ~ 45 min from the placement of order to the time when the food is actually brought to the counter. I have had to wait as long as 30 min when I arrived at the promised time. 2. Carefully check everything in the order. Tonight was the second time that have failed to include tortillas (the first time we ate the fajitas without the tortillas) and on another occasion they failed to provide the Chile con Queso (although they did send chips). It is necessary to do the quality control they fail to do. 3. Work on the phone system. My wife's experience tonight with two dropped calls was not particularly pleasing. While I was waiting for my food, I observed two calls come in to the take out desk that went unanswered and on the phone's screen there were 4 missed calls. Can't be good for business. My wife made an observation tonight that may be of help. At Carabbas Original on Kirby (a favorite of ours), the take out used to be managed by the bar. It too was a disaster with the requirement that one fight the bar clientele to get take out (and generally had to park illegally). They finally created a separate area outside of the restaurant for takeout - it works beautifully. I might suggest to the owners of Lupe Tortillas that they place an order at Carrabbas Original, a half-mile away from the 2414 SW Freeway location and contrast the experience there with the one at their fajita restaurant. What they may learn is that it is difficult to run a take out in the middle of a busy bar and restaurant without some compartmentalization. Finally, the price of the fajitas at Lupe Tortilla has risen over the years at a rate substantially higher than the cost of living. I have no problem with the cost (insanely great fajitas), but expect a take out experience to be commensurate with the cost. I (and other customers) should not have to put up with substandard take out experience every other time we order. Tonight's experience convinced us to begin looking for another venue for take out fajitas. Sad, because the fajitas are the best in Houston.

I am not sure about the other Lupe Tortilla restaurants, but the one in the Pearland Town Center on TX288 heading south out of Houston is consistently perfect. The staff that works there "gets it." They are courteous, professional, fun, and they genuinely seem pleased you decided to eat there. The service is always good and the food comes out quickly, hot, and delicious.

very fresh well made fresh Guacamole, Amazing portions and very fulfulling, delicious and good fast service.

Horrible Service, very understaffed. I paid my tab and left after the bartender said I couldn't get a menu because the kitchen was backed up so I decided to leave and speak with a manger and the jerk ask me if I paid my tab if not, HE WOULD call the cops if I walk out on $15 tab which was a water and full margarita .... AGAIN, He looked at the color of my skin and ignore the words of me stating I PAID MY TAB BUT shouldn't have had to due to the refusal of food service. This place is definitely giving prejudice against African Americans as well as horrible management for not fixing the problem with there staff after an issue was addressed. The most baffling part of my experience is he threatened to call the cops on m

Very good Mexican food. Fajita tacos were really tasty. Rest of family had different dishes and all were very tasty. Waiter was great and service was fast.

The quality off all. Locations that really gone downhill... Their meat.. The quality.. The service... 120.00 for 4 people wow not worth it... Good bye lupe.. We will miss u.. Time to move on to better food 😂

The beef fajitas are the best I've had. Been to this restaurant about 100 times and just love it! Great service and food.

This is the second time I've been to this place this year as I visit Houston every now and then. Excellent taste service and atmosphere. I recommend the fajitas. This food is made fresh and not prepared in advance. Great stuff and homemade tortillas.

I’ve been here at this location lots of times over the years for lunch, and the food is consistently very good. I haven’t had a bad meal, and my personal favorite is the chicken soft tacos with fajita meat. The service, however, has really gone downhill over the last six months. Yesterday was probably it for me for a while because of it. A buddy and I met up for lunch, and our waiter took a heck of a long time to take our order, bring us something to drink, and getting a refill of our drinks just didn’t happen. He did spend a lot of time with the table of four next to us, and the restaurant wasn’t that crowded for lunch. The food of a restaurant can be great, but bad service will have us go elsewhere.

Lupe's is always busy, but I guess that's a good thing. It usually does not take long to get a table and if its just you and a couple friends you can sit at the bar while waiting on your table. I find the staff to always be friendly and helpful with recommendations. This is the restaurant we take our kids and grand kids. There is something on the menu for everyone. The chips and salsa are always fresh and the food is excellent and at a fair price.

My family and I had lunch here today. The restaurant was vey clean and was a nice environment. We didn't have a good waitress. We had to have another waitress get her to come back to our table for drink refills and she wasn't available when our food was brought out. Nice place but service could've been a lot better. We are pretty big on good service.

My entree was misdelivered to another customer and once I finally received it (15 minutes later after asking again for the waiter to check on it), it was cold. This is not at all the normal standard for Lupe Tortilla. Our family has been a frequent customer since this location opened. The manager came to talk with us and did not charge us, but I would have much preferred to have a hot meal.

This restaurant was great for lunch. There's lots of parking, food comes up quickly, and they have a lunch menu. The service was attentive, and the beef fajitas were delicious.

We lived in Houston for 20 years, and beef fajitas from Lupe have always been a must-do when we return to visit. But this time, we were disappointed. The fajitas were good but not the perfection we had looked forward too. Tableside guac was delicious, service was fine. But the cost! Geez! We shared fajitas for 1, added guacamole, queso, and 2 ice teas for a whopping $40 each (after tip). Thank goodness we skipped margaritas!

Very nice Tex Mex food. Portions are massive. We couldn't finish the plates. Prices are regular. The waiter was very nice. They have a nice outdoor terrace so you can escape the aircon. If you don't like tortillas or cheese that is not the place for you.

First, let me say my fiancé and I are not usually fans of beef fajitas. I'm a chicken fajita kind of girl. Not at Lupe Tortilla, though! I convinced him to try the beef, and he was SO happy he did! The beef is seasoned beautifully with a hint of lime and is oh-so-tender. The 1/2 lb fajitas are the perfect size for lighter appetites to split at lunch (which is what we did). Served with HUGE fresh tortillas, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice and beans, you definitely have a full meal. Now pair that with one of their margaritas and you won't find a better fajita meal anywhere.

Seriously though..my inner fatty comes out every time I come here! Guys this place is sent from above. Love the fajitas. I usually get chicken or shrimp and the tortillas are soooooo good! You will definitely get full here as the portions are pretty hearty. I always get great service and great food. I usually fall into a food coma shortly after eating here =)

Had not been to Houston in over 30 years to eat and visit. This place was selected by some friends who that it was a great meal and atmosphere. It was both and we loved the fajitas the most. The tortilla were so thin and yummy and the meat was tender and juicy. Great place to eat.

From out of state so 1st time..given sample of fajitas. Delicious! Ordered full size they were so fresh. As was all the great food. Salsa made daily on site. Shrimp in appetizer crisp and delectable. Atmosphere and decor perfect for making you feel like Tex-Mex. Staff super attentive and friendly. Enjoyed it so much when we visited Austin a day later, we found another Lupe Tortilla and ate there again! We have Mexican restaurants in Ohio but I will never taste food like I had at Lupe. Simply the best I've tasted due to quality and freshness.

We came to this restaurant for an early dinner after a very busy day. This was our first visit to this restaurant. Jocelyn, our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu selections and she was very helpful. All of this made it easier for us make a dinner selection. When our food arrived we were impressed. Everything was delicious and well served. The service at this place was great. The manager, Mr. J. C. Parkinson, came over to ask us how everything was. We told him that we were very happy with the service and that the food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back again and asking for Jocelyn.

Excellent margaritas and fajitas! The tortillas are wonderful and you should not skip these at all. Good family atmosphere and service. This is definitely a repeat in the future.

We went here for a late dinner and it was fantastic. Service was great and our meal was even better. Seems very busy with the locals as we had to wait for a table, but it was really worth the wait.

I haven't been to Houston in 6-7 years. I was in town visiting a friend who said we're going to a Mexican spot, so I joined. I didn't know where it was until arriving on spot and the memories rolled in. My past trip to Houston I recalled how I loved the fajitas but that was so long ago, would they still be that good or maybe it was the tequila talking from before?? After 1 bite, I knew it wasn't the tequila since we didn't order any after maturing 6 years! I was so pleased to have those amazing memories come back to life in the present time. So if you're in Houston area, be sure to stop in to one of their locations. I'm sure they have other great items on the menu, but I've only gotten their fajitas.

There are several Lupe's in the city and they are all great. The shrimp fajhitas are fabulous and the margaritas are lethal, so please drink responsibly.

This is the place my family goes to order great fajitas. We like the beef and shrimp. They give you salsa and beans with your chips so try not to fill up before you get your meal. For dessert, we like the fried bananas with ice cream. You get a lot of food for your money. It is not a cheap Mexican restaurant; it is a moderately priced, but it is worth it.

Best margaritas in town. We live in Houston and have visited most of the "TexMex" restaurants in town. My husband and I come here more often than I want to admit. Other highlights include "chicken little" and fajitas. Manager Jerry Gross runs a tight ship. Excellent and amicable waitstaff. Bartenders Jose and Nico are attentive. Jose is an awesome waiter.

The food was good service was excellent. But the price was a little high in comparison to the other good Mexican restaurants in the area. I will not return because they did not support the veterans period so I will not support them.

My fav is the Poblano Chicken. A poblano pepper (mild) stuffed with tender chicken. Let’s face it, most Mexican restaurants here serve chips and salsa. They do here as well, but also bring out complimentary bean soup, I love it. In fact, I ask for a cup,per person, no problem. Happy Hour brings about margaritas by the picture, or house margaritas. Service is always good, as is the food. Also, I substitute the rice and beans for a deluxe salad for a small upcharge.

First visit to this restaurant at suggestion of Houston resident. . Food and service is good for price paid and offers some good Mexican choices.

First visit to Houston Lupe Tortilla and it was great! Daughter and I shared the half lb beef fajita. Seasoned to perfection. Gave it a four star due to the small amt of guacamole, grilled onions and pico. I liked the salsa and the beans for dipping (more like charro beans) was great. We particularly liked the exceptionally large but very thin tortillas. We even had enough to take home leftovers. Brandon, our waiter was good and even surprised my daughter (celebrating a birthday) with a group song and a yummy flan dessert. We would definitely go back!

This restaurant was my first introduction to the Lupe Tortilla menu. Yummy! The margaritas are frosty and huge. I love the warm bean salsa. I have had the salads, traditional Mexican dishes and many foods in between. I have never been disappointed.

My wife and i tried this place and were blown away by the service we received. Not only did the manager pay a visit to our table to check up on us, but a chef or member of the cooking staff came bye after the food arrived to make sure we were happy. Be aware that their tacos and chalupas are fresh made and they make them open face, so they eat different than a normal taco. The food was outstanding as well.

Chips are light and airy. Good food great service. Festive atmosphere. Friendly service. Steak tacos delicious. Enjoy

I have been going to Lupe Tortilla for 25 years (back when there was only one - now they are all over Houston), and have always injoyed going there. great place to go for families with small children as they have a sandbox/play area outside to keep them occupied. Also great for night out with friends! Margaritas are excellent, as are the Fajitas. the downside? be prepared to wait a while, especially on a Saturday night, they won't seat you unless your entire party is there, and they don't take reservations. They also tend to nickel and dime you (I don't know of any other Mexican restaurant that only gives you one tortilla with your fajitas, and charges you for more). And they have gone up in price on their margaritas quiet a bit. For these reasons, I don't frequent there as often as I used to, but it is a great experience for those visiting from out of town and want really great Mexican food.

I visit my daughter in Houston once a year and stay 3 months . During this time and every year , its the same, we go to Lupe Tortilla , several times, with family and friends . It became a habit as its their favorite restaurant in town . My granddaughter always has her ice cream treat . Waiters are very friendly . Margaritas are the best

Nothing outstanding to note. The meal was not outstanding. I can't even remember what I ordered. The sangria was the best part of the meal.

A good indication of a restaurant's valuation of their guests is how they greet them at the front door. When I visited tonight, I was told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait which was sort of surprising since I could clearly see many empty tables, but okay. Then I was told I would have to give my personal cell number to be texted when a table was available. No where at the front door or hostess stand was there a sign or notice that by choosing to dine here my privacy would be compromised. I have a huge problem with this. This restaurant does not pay my cell phone bill nor did they offer to do so today. The food was average, service was okay. I get to make choices about where I spend my money. In the future, I will go somewhere else.

We went here for dinner and had an excellent experience. The server was really good and friendly and made great conversation with us as tourists in his city. We ordered the vegetarian puffy tacos (ordered a second one because it was so good), red sauce cheese enchiladas, and veggie quesadillas! It was really nice to see that they had a vegetarian menu! Would return!

The online ordering system is really really good. It’s simple and easy to navigate after learning that, we placed our order online for pickup. Once we arrived the service was spot on. Our order was correct and the lady who helped us was very professional. Would recommend and go back.

First time coming here. The staff was excellent, very accommodating for 20 people. They made sure the drink refills were done. One member's fish was overdone but overall the food was great.

DON'T GO ! Both of our cars were broken into in different parts of the parking lot and cleaned out. Per the signs , everything in the car and hatchback was hidden under the seats and trunks. We were not the only cars. Dinner came to $500, the cost including the losses from the break in was in the thousands.!

I was in town with my daughter meeting up with a relative and her young sons. This place was great for a table of 5, with two young kids. Our server was on point with our "chit chat while we catch up on things pace." My crab and avocado enchiladas were fantastic. I would go again next time I'm in a city that has one.

This is a great restaurant and good place for lunch. The food is pretty healthy for Mexican food and the chips and salsa are excellent. Try the queso

Have been twice in the last 2 months for breakfast. Not a good place to go for breakfast. Eating here for lunch and supper, and food was good and also service. But breakfast is a different matter. Server very rarely check by our table(4 of us) to see if we needed anything. Ran out of coffee twice and both times, had to flag server down. Coffee was also luke warm. We went around 9AM on a Sunday, only 3 other tables besides ours. They were not busy. Table next to us had been used before we arrived and all the used dishes and glasses stayed on the table and were never removed while we ate. Still there when we left. Never got buss. Breakfast not good service and most all food was at best, luke warm. Tried twice for breakfast, will not go back for breakfast, may go later in the day or evening, but not sure about that.

We visited the place a family of 5. Ordered 1 lb of beef pahita and 0.6 lb of chicken. Food was great , kids loved it but we should ordered 2 lb and not 1.5 Service was excellent Price was reasonable Will visit again

We were only staying a few blocks away (Crowne Plaza) so happily walked to Lupe's. Atmosphere was excellent as was our service. We had just flown in so were starving and I ordered the beef fajitas. What can I say - just so tasty. Far too much food for one though, luckily my other half is the human dustbin so he polished them off. Absolutely delicious though as was my margarita. If you're in the area go try it out - you won't be disappointed. Yummy ...

My son and his fiancee live in Houston. She is of Mexican descent, so she knows the better than average Mexican restaurants. This is the third one she's taken us to, and it was by far, the best. Service was professional and personable. Food was delicious, as were the chips and salsa. I wish we had room to try the dessert....maybe next time. Oh yes, the margaritas were excellent. We will definitely go again on our next trip to Houston.

Wow! Food here is amazingly good. The barbacoas is plentiful and most definitely a sharing platter and oh so tasty. We had margaritas with Grand Marnier floats and boy were they strong (& of course, good). Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants around.

My elementary age son was asking for tacos after a doctor appointment and this place was nearby so we stopped in. It was very nice for us- he got the kids taco plate and I got the soup and salad. Wow - what a tasty, light lunch. Better chicken tortilla soup than other Mexican restaurants I’ve tried. Service was great too.

The best period. We love hitting this joint when we go to Houston. If u want honest, fresh, tasty, Tex mex, this is the place. On top of that, they are consistently great! Best tortillas ever! God bless this establishment!

I came here on the recommendation of the food. We came @3:15 on Sunday and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We waited an hour which I came find out was because they did not have adequate staffing. I wish they would have been honest and not wasted an hour of my life.

I have been working my way through the menu and I have liked everything I have tried. The steak has great flavor and seasonings. The margaritas are great, and the fresh chips and salsa are exceptional. Above the quality food, however, is the exceptional service. Jose, Nico, and Jose are quick to anticipate any needs. Definitely a Houston favorite!

Fiancée is on contract in Houston and everytime I go to visit her we have to go here. It's the same story with this place: Fresh hot food Great service Great environment Affordable pricing The fajitas are the best I have ever had and will recommend to anyone who has a Mexican food liking. Will go back.

My wife and I love fish tacos. Three days earlier, we tried them at another restaurant. In our opinion, these were very good, better than the ones we had earlier in the week. The tacos were served on corn tortillas and we found the tortillas were falling apart before we finished our meal. As we've experienced before at other restaurants, the quantities of food served at Mexican restaurants in Houston tend to be far too large. I would rather see the serving sizes reduced with a corresponding reduction in price. All considered, we certainly will return to this Lupe Tortilla in the future!

We had chicken and beef fajitas and they were fantastic. The meats were spiced up but right. The tortillas were fresh and to die for. If you ever tried the popular Pappasito’s Mexican Restaurant in Houston, Lupe Tortilla is a thousand times better with much higher quality meats. I highly recommend it and you will love it.

The atmosphere at Lupe is perfection! If you are lucky enough to sit in Shon's section....he will make your night! The management team is top notch and Shon is our family favorite. We love LUPE!!!! Also, everyone here is taking the Coronavirus seriously which makes me feel at ease to come and eat here. Thank you!!!!

The reason the tables are almost always full and most times a little wait is because the food is fresh and great tasting. Nothing comes out of a can in this restaurant. I have been going to Lupe Tortilla for over 30 years. Never disappointed. The free beans on the table with the chips are one of my favorites along with the fresh salsa. No cooked salsa at this place!! The flan is excellent.

Excellent attention from all the staff. The food was very well presented and delicious. Second time visiting this restaurant and I plan to continue visiting it every time I get to Houston

The fajitas are marinated in lime juice....so delicious, I like to eat just the meat, no need for all that other stuff. The hot sause is warm and spicy, the wait staff are attentive. If you like lively Mexican food restaurants with really tasty food then this is the place to be...it's always vibrant and filled with all types of people from families with their children playing in the outside sandbox to first dates to friends groups to business lunches. Consistently good food with a good vibe!

great chain around town, and this location meets expectations. food was great, and margaritas were delicious.

My Spanish is bad. But so are the many web definitions for "Lupe." Seriously, search for "Lupe" and you'll find a variety of meanings, ranging from baby names to Arabic history and even personality traits. Bottom line though, is that it doesn't matter. At this place "Lupe" means "really good food!" Lunch here after the noon-time crowd was relaxed and quiet. Great chips, salsa and beans. A large number of choices on the menu, but waiter suggested fajitas. You'll love 'em! The tortillas were huge and tasty, the fajita meat was flavorful and tender, the caramelized onions and peppers terrific. Great mashup of flavors and textures! Portions were generous. Service was spot-on. Atmosphere is trendy and casual. Overall, a super visit.

I love the atmosphere of the restaurant from the entrance. The staff are friendly. The selection on the menu is good and also offers vegetarians. I ordered a fajita steak taco salad that was delicious! One thing I did not like was I saw a cockroach in the restroom. You know, there would be so many if you see one...

This is our to-go Tex-Mex place to hit up when we have cravings . We always order the Fajitas, usually 1 lb chicken and shrimp . I also commend them for being innovative today offering lettuce wraps as an alternative to tortillas since I try to stay away from simple carbs e.g their humongous tortilla. Lettuce wrap actually made the fajitas taste better in my opinion ! The servers here are always friendly and attentive. One thing to note is that if you decide to go here on a weekend be prepared to wait for more than 20 mins for seating .

Great service. Great food. Great taste. Always a must for us when we are in Texas area. Fajitas are the best in my opinion. Hands down. Highly recommend and will for sure be back.

The food was great. This is a must stop if in Houston area . The service was good, fast and friendly.

one of my favorite mexican restaurants in all of houston! would definitely recommend the beef fajitas which are amazing. always have had good service. would go if you are visiting or just live in houston!

What is there to say? Great food, house lime marguaritas to die for, very good service - and I visit Lupe Tortilla (the one along I10) every time I am in Houston. Simple as that!

We were highly recommended this restaurant so thought we better try it out. Really impressed with the decor and atmosphere, was a fun place to be on a busy Friday night. We started with the free chips they gave us and kept filling and we added on some dips. Really good. We then had the mixed fajitas which I guess was a bit of a let down as the chicken was bland compared to the amazing tasty beef. Really enjoyed although there wasn't enough guacamole for 2 people and would've liked some more veg however we really enjoyed our meal and would recommend especially the beef fajitas.

Love their Cheekiness Lupe but their beef fajita meat is not to be missed! Great service, funny menu and incredible food!! Truly a great Tex-Mex dining experience. Beware - you will smell like a big taco when you leave!!

I love this place but it is always crowded. So, stop going you guys. Give us a break! Good food, service, everything is super. Love it.

I needed a place to meet some family that we haven't seen in a while. I was deciding between this restaurant and another one in the area. I chose this one. I wasn't familiar with either of my choices so I picked this one out of curiosity. We split the chicken quesadilla appetizer ($14). Others in our group ordered the Tortilla Soup and Spinach and Artichoke enchiladas. I can't attest for those choices. But, I thought the chicken quesadilla was over priced. I can't say the food wasn't good, but I do think it's overpriced. Our waiter did provide excellent service. Given a choice again, I won't choose another Lupe Tortilla.

I love the food here but last time i went i found roaches in the restroom, i hope they don't host these bugs in the kitchen as well.

These Mexican place has great cold drinks especially during the weekdays you can go with your friends and celebrate any birthdays or just to get together, fajitas are good and the tortillas are freshly made I do recommend to be visited any day during the week

Very pleasant place, rustic atmosphere with good service, impressive texmex food and very affordable. About $20/person with dessert. I strongly recommen and will be back soon.

Friendly, good food and great atmosphere. Service was also quick and efficient inserting us despite being quite busy.

We went here on a Friday night expecting a long wait but were seated right away. We were told the fajitas were awesome so we settled on chicken. You order by the half pound or pound so sharing is easy. We also ordered jalapeno sausage which was delicious. You get your fajitas with pico de gallo and guacamole. The flour tortillas are great, large and light, delicious. The margaritas were good as well. The only thing was the fajitas do not come out on a sizzling iron skillet like at some other places.

The fajitas in this place are amazing!!!! Skip the rice and the beans - order the beef, chicken, and shrimp combo with the corn and flour tortillas and move your hands out of the way - someone might eat into them!!! Also have the blood-orange margaritas they are simply awesome.

I could eat Mexican food every day of the week! This is one of my favorite spots in the city for the price! The fajitas are second only to the much more expensive El Tiempo! The margaritas are just great, however this location is often hard to get into as it is VERY popular. But it is worth the wait!

Wonderful atmosphere! Management was friendly! Waiter was beyond great! Sat on the patio and enjoyed the ambiance! Steak fajitas were best I have ever had. Tortillas were made fresh and the size of your plate! Their ribs are better than any BBQ place I have ever had! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yeah I said it loopy not because of the drinks it's because the food has gotten so bad that even a dog could cook better a long time ago they used to have the best fajitas in town now they're about as good as Casa Ole well time to stop going there and by the way if you're going to take you and somebody else planned on spending almost 80 or $90 on your dinner without drinks

We stopped here for breakfast it was awful I had eggs and avocado tacos. The avocados were thickly sliced, eggs scrambled, homemade tortillas. You couldn't pick it up without it it breaking up so I finally ate it with a knife and fork. Tasteless. Got salsa. Still not great. The homemade tortillas were the best. I have had lunch at 2 different locations and it was great.. breakfast NOT. Service ok

I am on Whole30 so I was worried about what to eat. I got the Grilled Chicken Lupe w no cheese and avocado salad. YUMMMMMMM! I am so full! (I did not eat beans or rice). My boys got the beef fajitas and my husband, the crab/avocado enchiladas. The tortillas were wonderful- obviously housemade. If you come into Houston, a must!!!

We stopped by Lupe Tortilla for lunch while visiting in Houston. The food was really good. Between the 5 of us, we sampled the fajitas, a plate of tacos and enchiladas, a burrito, and flautas. Everyone loved their choices. The flour tortillas got rave reviews. The flautas had real, identifiable chicken in them and they crunched just right. The salsa was a bit heavy on the cilantro and the amount of queso they serve with the flautas was very skimpy. However, the food really was good and we felt quite satisfied in the end. Service was not great but it was okay. We only had to ask to have our drinks refilled a couple of times.

great place for breakfast or lunch. this is a southwestern take with plenty of twists on classic fare. the menu is varied and extensive it is going to take me awhile to work my way through the dishes.

Came here for dinner with my family tonight. Everyone was very courteous and respectful wanting to make our outing everything it could be. The food was solid. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was different in a very good way. Everything was generous, including the portions.

Don’t let the title fool you. We visit this place every time we come to Houston. Great service, great fresh food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend the fajitas as the are great in both price and taste. Outside seating is an option. God bless this location.

Good atmosphere, lovely people, great food, specially the soft tortillas, and good margaritas. It's possible to sit outside.

We were looking for TexMex within walking distance of our hotel after an evening arrival and gave it a try. Outstanding food and great drink menu.

My good friend Don that works for The Dent Guys took me here and we had about 4 weeks the World Famous Fajitas by the pound. I recommend the Beef 1lb for 2. Then you will have enough food left over for days. IF your thirsty get a margaritas for $6

Only two places for margaritas and fajitas in Houston, Lupe's and the Original Mama Nifa's on Commerce. I have been in Houston since the early '70's and these are the two best!! I think Lupe's is the best for dinner any day Had queso and fajitas and loved it, as always. You cannot go wrong with Lupe's, ever.

I received a request from one of my principals to order some fajitas dinners in order for him to bring home to his family....and so he asked

Honestly, not wowed, but it was solid. Not too different from what I'd get at a good place back home in CT. Family style fajita set was fun. Had a platter of meat with sausage, steak, chicken, ribs and added a 1/2 pound of shrimp. rice and beans were great. Stuck with beer, so can't comment on the margaritas

I first had Lupe's at a party where the food was catered in. The beef we had was the best I have ever tasted. We asked to be taken to Lupe's for lunch. The presentation was good, the food was delicious, and the service was great. The prices were a bit high for what you get, though. Still, definitely the best tasting beef I have ever had.

Lupe's has great upscale TexMex. They also have an outstanding frequent diner program that saves you $5 for every $100 spent. Their signature dish, Chicken Lupe, is always flavorful. Also try the soft chicken tacos - they are like enchiladas only a lot better.

Salsa & Bean dip complimentary and both delicious! Food was very good & not too pricey. Service was excellent, speedy and friendly! 100% recommendation based on our experience

Houston favorite for fajitas in a city filled with Mexican restaurants so that says a lot! Good bar area to meet up with friends. Outdoor seating available on the patio as well.

We like going here because it is close to work and always good food. Sometimes the wait can be outrageous but there are plenty of bar areas to relax in

So delicious, I wouldn't get anything but the beef fajitas and guacamole. Ever. One order was enough for my husband and I and we are both big eaters! 4 stars instead of 5 only because it's pretty pricey.

In lieu of waiting 45 minutes for a table, we decided to sit at the bar and order from there. Nico was a great bartender and took great care of us.

Loved the steak and the table-side made guac! Really cozy atmosphere, too. Had dinner with a friend and it wasn't too loud to talk to each other.

One reviewer said that Lupe's is indistinguishable from Pappasito's, but that not accurate. They are pretty similar in appearance and offerings, but Lupe's is lower priced (many under $10), at least for the lunch menu. Even though it was crowded, they did a great job accommodating our group. Service was very efficient and pretty fast, which is always good for business lunches. The one way Lupe's really sets itself apart, is that they have the best salsa of any Mexican restaurant, small or large, chain or independent in Houston, Texas.....no... all of Texas.

Came in with a business associate, we sat on the patio and were able to have a quiet discussion while great food was unobtrusively served.

Great place to eat, great atmoshere and super friendly workers. Food was great starting with the chips and dip/ beans. My wife and I split the crab stuffed shrimp brochettes. My kids all had various different enchilada dinners. Service was excellent, fast as could be expected on a crowded night and drinks came out rather quickly too. Lot of people ther around the bar area watching the Astors game. It was great to be there that night. Conviently located right off the highway if traveling through.

First of all ALMOSY every Mexican restaurant has comp chips and salsa. Here you ALSO get fantastic comp’ed beans...I love these. My favorite: It’s a tie between the build your own (choose a few entrees..enchiladas, tacos, etc) or the Poblano chicken. The margaritas are always good, the beer is cold, and service on par. A regular place for me!

Just finished my meal. ..was trully delicious. ..drinks were really good...had the combo fajitas. ..add the stuffed crab shrimps. ..and amazing :)...all the sides come in separate bowls...which is a nice touch for all you "don't let my food touch each other freaks"...:)...great place

Excellent restaurant . with great food. We had the fliet mignon fajitas , the crab and avocado enchiladas and it was perfectly delicious. The place is very popular and we had to wait 30 minutes to get seated and another 30-40 minutes to get our meal but well worth the wait.

Went to Lupe’s with 7-8 co-workers after a very long day. The server brought small samples of their signature beef fajita, and I was sold. The well marinated beef, tasty fixings and sides (excellent beans) included house-made tortillas. My co-workers and I ordered different margaritas, and everyone seemed satisfied. This restaurant is a great place to go with a group. It was obvious that they get groups frequently and know how to handle them.

Lupe Tortilla is located at a convenient location just off the highway. With authentic TexMex decor and original menu creations one won't be disappointed. Lupe tortilla has a great happy hour special featuring amazing margaritas . Many enticing items on the menu including a good variety of vegetarian options. The service was superb and since we were first timers were offered a sample of their signature fajitas. Also delicious. The spinach artichoke enchiladas were amazing along with the accompaniments of corn and asparagus. So many delicious options to choose from one many have to go back again and again.

Their fajitas are delectable whether one orders the fillet or the skirt steak. They are marinated and grilled to perfection. We brought a guest from out of town who liked them so much that he could not eating them!

I have no idea if there's anything else as good as the beef fajitas on the menu because they are so good I've never been able to order anything else. The guacamole is fantastic if you want to order extra although it comes with the fajitas. I did try the queso with lobster but the cheese was thin and lobster blah and for the $10 up charge very scant. Didn't get it this time but their margaritas are always good especially when they have the grapefruit ones. Service is beyond outstanding. I am not sure what might have prompted a change but it has gone from good/ok to phenomenal.

Had a lovely lunch of tortilla soup and salad. Sweet, smoky and spicy soup with lots of chicken, and delicious poblano ranch dressing on the salad. Had to wait for the check. It was mid-afternoon and servers were scarce. All in all, the price was right and I would visit again.

I've been going regularly to this location for over four years. It's always consistent. The salsa is amazing. The beef fajitas are delicious. I get the cilantro jalapeño chicken because I'm addicted to it. The Mexican martinis are on point and you can't ask for a friendlier bar staff. Tons of their employees have been working for the company many many years. Wait times are always quoted well. Try it and you'll probably be addicted, too!

This restaurant has the best Filet mignon fajitas period. Perfectly prepared We all had skinny Margaritas and they were fabulous.. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. If its not too hot they have great outside seating. Location is right on the 59 feeder with plenty of parking

For all of us who were there when Lupes Tortilla started in this location we miss the old days.No part of a restaurant chain offers an average service and food.

Ask for a mini beef fajita to try. They'll have you hooked! Saucy, cheesy dishes are awesome also. Staff is very professional and helpful.

BEST MEXICAN EVER!! Had a girls weekend and decided to go here since it was close to the hotel. The BEST atmosphere and perfect night! Food was delicious and the margaritas are to DIE for!

He lived in the Houston area as a child and his parents still live in the area. Food nicely prepared and served immediately. Cheese dip and the pinto bean hot dip served before lunch were great. He suggested the 3 pepper steak - it had the right amount of heat and was served with rice and beans. The smaller steak was almost too large for me to eat.

Arrived at the restaurant expecting not being able to park, or get in. However, luck was on our side, we found a spot up front and within two minutes of leaving our name we were seated. As I already mentioned, the service was very good, he was right there to get our drink order and bring the chips and beans..yes I said beans..don't bother with the salsa, go straight to the beans with your chips awesome. Ordered the DelMar and OMG!!!! WHAT A MEAL!! More than enough for three people ( we ended up taking food home..and I hate left overs..lol). Basically every time we are in the area, we stop at this particular Lupe Tortilla, can't say anything about the others. We go where we know the food is good, unless we are just out running around in which case, you have seen the so-so reviews of restaurants we have visited.

Really good Mexican food. Beef fajitas are excellent. Flat enchiladas are also very good. The pinto beans they serve with chips as an appetizer are some of the best that I have ever had.

The food is good, but the mexican music inside is a bit too loud. It was difficult to have a conversation.

We got seated right away. They brought out chips and fresh chunky salsa and very tasty charro beans and took our drink order. We ordered the fajitas, which were very tasty. Plenty of all the fixins served with the fajitas. The tortillas were as large as the plate, but also as thin as spring roll wrapping. I would have given a 5 star if the tortillas were thicker and the price would have been lower.

Great setting, service and service. So many good food to choose from, and our order came quite fast. Highly recommend this place

Lupe Tortilla's was one of my friend's favorite Mexican restaurant in the Houston area. He described how the parents started the restaurant and the kids opened additional restaurants. We went to one that the kids had started. The difference, he said, was just a few different items on the menus. The chips were served with a bean, onion, and spices bowl along with homemade salsa. We both order the Mixed Grill which had 6 oz. Carne asada, half chicken lupe & (3) bacon wrapped pepper shrimp. It was so good! The carne asada was tender and slightly peppery, the chicken moist, tender, and had melted cheese on it, the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp was perfectly cooked, and what doesn't taste better when bacon is added to it. I would definitely order it again!

Consistently the best Tex Mex in Houston. Fajitas to die for. Perfect tortilla chips and salsa! Fabulous margaritas!

Even though I just arrived in the US, I went here to get something for dinner. The waiter was very helpful and even after I ordered, had the owner come and give me a sample of their specialty fajitas that was out of this world. The prices seem a bit high for a one person, so I ordered the 'big sucker' burrito that I wasn't able to finish. It was so good though.

I've eaten at this place twice in Houston and once in San Antonio and I love it. Really well prepared, fresh food that is delicious. My only complaint is that I couldn't eat it all and didn't have a way to take it home!

Been going for years and still go when I visit Houston. Best juicy tender beef fajitas in the whole world. Chicken is good but that one is hard to mess up. You get a lot of side fixings and chips and salsa Delicious as well. Busy place with loud kids but go on off time or carry out.

we missed happy hour~ which worked out well~ got a parking spot right in front~ we were seated very soon after we arrived. 5 adults and a Baby in Tow. Margaritas were very good, and the Food well prepared and tasty. bean dip that came with the hot sauce and chips was a nice treat.

We visited the Lupe's on Hwy 59, inside the Loop. Go early as they do get crowded. The frozen margarita's are refreshing but weak. The service is extremely slow...they do not have people that bring chips/salsa, it is the waiter responsible for filling your beverage and chips/salsa which slows down the process. The beef fajita's for one are big enough to split and are around $20 for the serving of one. They have fantastic corn tortilla's but the flour tortillas are bigger than the plate! With the great weather, it is nice to sit outside. I like they do not have the sand box anymore as it has created more outside seating. Bar scene seemed busy!

Whenever I travel I tend to ask the locals where they like to eat. They said if you like Mexican food this is the place you should come to. The place was crowded when we stopped in during dinner time but we were promptly seated and a big basket of warm chips, pico de gallo and bean dip brought over. I ordered a 1/2 lb of their signature Beef Fajitas and it was big enough to share between two people if you're not super hungry. It came on a sizzling plate with the lime marinated beef, onions and peppers. The fixings that came with it were seasoned rice, refried beans, guacamole, cheese and handmade tortillas (this really made the meal more authentic). The cost is a bit more than what I normally pay for standard Mexican fare but it was very delicious.

I took my family to this restaurant on a Monday for lunch. The menu is varied and favors dishes with chicken. The restaurant was not very busy. The seating was quick and we really enjoyed sitting outside on the deck. The food was very bland and lacked any flavor My son ordered crispy tacos, my wife ordered a chicken taco, (Lupe taco plate I believe). The refried beans were dry and tasted like canned beans. The rice had no flavor at all. The chicken was dry and bland as if they just warmed up a frozen bag of chicken. Obviously, no cooking from scratch in this restaurant. I did not order food as they were out of pork. Yes, the restaurant was out of pork. I would not recommend this restaurant for anything other than sitting on the deck and drinking margaritas. Find a better place to order food.

The most amazing fajitas - love the pepper shrimp -chips are fresh and crispy The service is always great!

Visiting Houston for High School robotics competition and was looking to have Mexican one night. Based on the reviews we chose Lupe's - and that was a great call! We were seated immediately and chose to sit outside. Our server was prompt and since it was our 1st visit she brought us a fajita sampler platter! A manager came around and checked on us no less than 3 different times. The food and service were stupendous and when we were finished we couldn't believe how affordable the meal was. If I'm ever back in Houston I will definitely go back. Give this place a try!

Took the whole family for Mother's Day. The waitress was nice but inattentive. One meal was totally wrong and when she brought it back, it still was wrong. No attention to refilling drinks--and with 4 children under the age of 5, we had to wait an hour for our meal---and we arrived at 5:30 and the restaurant was not crowded. The manager came by but didn't offer us anything----we will NOT return.

I have been going to this restaurant on a fairly regular basis for the past three years and I must say the food is very tasty, authentic, and just right. My favorite dish is the chicken fajitas plate; which have a unique and savory taste. I also enjoy their homemade tortillas. They have a full-service bar and sodas in old style glass bottles. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Montrose area of Houston. It is worth noting that the staff is very friendly and attentive courteous and respectful.

The atmosphere is great, service is sat and the lunch menu very attractive . Don't take a table for 4 if you are 4... It is crowded even for 3 Will come again

My family and I visit here a lot, as it’s close to home. The queso is always a crowd pleaser and the different salsas have great flavor. I wish they were a little less chunky but I know that’s just my preference. I love the combo meals because they are a great deal and we can figure out what to order so everyone gets exactly what they wanted. Makes eating out with little kids who eat a bite here and there easy. Good atmosphere.

The best flour tortillas have ever eat outside México. Good and fast service, many menu alternatives, good portions and excellent food taste, fair price.

The fajitas are the best ever and you get plenty of it! The carne asada was excellent as well! Normally I post pictures too but we all dug in so fast it wasn’t possible! Stop in and try it!

I was taken to this restaurant as my NY clients were telling me to get a good Mexican meal whilst I was in Houston. The Texas clients were happy to take me to Lupe Tortilla. It was a great restaurant and I would recommend it. Alas we couldn't sit outside as we had not booked but were inside. A spacious airy restaurant with good A/C and super service. Delicious food, the best I have had in Houston. Do going you can as I will be back again!

Fresh food. Great service. Great environment. I make this a must each time I come to Houston. The best fajitas I've ever had. Tortillas are made fresh. The sides are a great compliment to the fajitas. 1lb is good for a couple. Good leftovers the next day. Will go back and recommend.

First off place is kinda pricey. But man is it good. The Chipotle BBQ ribs are awesome. Chips and salsa is good. Ask the the "good" salsa. It's chunkier. Also get the beans to dip your chips in. They are not refried beans more of burrocho beans. The fajita burrito is great. Wife loved who stuffed poplano.

You cannot visit Houston without having Mexican food at least once. But with hundreds of places from which to choose, how do you pick the "right" one? Obviously there is TripAdvisor or a "gut" feeling. We had left my daughter with some friends and my brother and wife decided it was dinner time. Mexican it was and as we were driving along the freeway, we spotted Lupe Tortilla. It looked clean, inviting and the parking lot was 3/4 full. So it was to be. Fairly large, with a few interconnected rooms and an outside patio, Lupe Tortilla seemed like a safe choice. But it was a lot better than "safe". It was "great". Watching the food leaving the kitchen, and enjoying the aroma of fresh food passing by we knew we had hit the jackpot. Quickly seated we were offered our menu's and asked about drinks. We ordered and a few minutes later our waiter came out with fresh cooked chips, salsa and a very delicious whole bean dip. A few moments later we were presented with 3 small appetizer versions of their world famous lime pepper marinade fajitas, on flour tortillas. These are hand cut tender outside skirt steak marinated and grilled to perfection. They were DELICIOUS. I had never had any fajitas so flavorful and tender. Now the decisions for dinner. While I loved the flavor of the meat, the portions were much too large for only me. Our waiter made a suggestion of an alternate meal that was smaller and I ordered it. My brother ordered off the rather extensive menu and his wife ordered lobster tacos. Dinner arrived and without much ado everything was devoured and enjoyed to the fullest. Good service, good food and a calm atmosphere. What else do you require? BTW- In addition to their regular take out menu you can order their amazing marinated meats by the pound. How wonderful is that?

My girlfriends and I visited the establishment while on a "all Girls trip" on the recommendations of a hometown girl and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This was the "best Mexican food" that we have had during our visits in different spots. We ordered the Fajita meal for two which was over enough food for three!!! The homemade Tortillas had us licking our fingers!! As we ate like it was our last meal, we were debating on how we could move closer to this city in order to enjoy the authentic "Mexican food and the Margaritas"

This location has gone downhill and quick! I've been a patron of this location since 2007 back when they still had a sandbox for the kids. On one visit recently one of the managers stormed out shouting "I QUIT!!!" Waitstaff/front of the house staff has been a revolving door. They REALLY NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER! The food has been hit or miss with the kitchen obviously not following spec and then you have servers who refuse to help out...FULL HANDS IN FULL HANDS OUT...hosts need to stop double and triple seating guests especially with unexperienced servers....when your customers know the menu better than their server there's a problem...also WRITE DOWN THE ORDER. Save yourself from having to do double time with a table and frustrated guests...write the order down...when you THINK you got and and you don't you run the risk of getting yourself and the kitchen in the weeds. My family lives blocks away from this location...I'll continue to eat at Lupe Tortillas but I'll be driving to Shepherd or even out to Pearland to avoid the S@%T show here. Sorry but seriously...DO BETTER...some of your regulars are getting tired and moving on.

I ordered the mushroom tacos because the server told me they came with guacomole and sour cream on the side (neither of which they gave me). They were so dry because literally the only thing on them was mushroom. Mushrooms on a tortilla. Nothing else. $16 for two. Rice on the side was fine. The beans were spicy which I liked. The tortilla chips were fine. Salsa fine. It was supposed to be $5 margaritas prior to 6:30 but I was charged full price. The margarita was nothing special either and had hardly any booze in it. My total bill was almost $30. Not sure how that worked out? I expect a lot more for that.

Great food, great service, and such a great place to get some real Tex-mex! We're from out of state, but we always make sure we swing into Lupes. They have opened new locations, but I'm glad to see their quality has been solid at all their locations!

The Beef Fajitas are so good and tender even well done like I requested. The Lemon Drop Martini was so perfectly tasteful and the waitress was amazing with a smile.
Great Service!
I ducked in here while my wife shopped at TJ Maxx (she doesn't like Mexican food anyway) and had a lunch special and a cold Corona. The waitress quickly diagnosed that I was a first timer and the manager swung by with a free sample of their steak which he proclaimed to be the house specialty. I was then given a big bowl of warm chips along with a cup of great salsa and another cup of warm frijoles. The beans were great! Lunch chicken wrap was very good as well.
