Have been several times previously and never disappointed. Staff are polite and food is good. Jumbo shrimp cocktail very nice indeed. Nice atmosphere.

I normally steer clear from hotel restaurants but I am very glad I tried this one. Excellent food and service. Great wine list.

We really enjoyed ourselves. The service was outstanding. Very attentive server (Louis) who was there with water as soon as one of the glasses was half empty. We didnn't know what to order and he said the bolognese burger were very popular. The buger was cooked as we requested. The fries were crisp, not greasy. It was nice the food was placed on heated plates. Louis made a couple of the pineapple rum mojitos and they hit the spot. Crisp, cold and well made. The manager Joshua stopped over. A nice touch. Overall, the food was delicious, well prepared and the service was outstanding. Prices reasonable for the area and portions.

We were staying at the Library Hotel attached & after a long day walking the streets of New York & sightseeing, this was a very welcome place to come. We had a great seat next to the window & had a great steak & fries. The restaurant was busy which made it slightly noisy & the tables are close - we nearly joined in with one conversation as one of the party was so loud & close - just to be aware. Great meal though.

What a lovely cozy neighborhood restaurant! Directed there by our hotel concierge, we were not disappointed. It was crowded, but we were seated right away, service was attentive and nice, food was good quality and well done. We went back again the next day and the staff remembered us! Pricing was fair. Highly recommend!

Like a lot of people, we started our New York restaurant experience in the foyer of our hotel. Madison and Vine looked the part of a charming bistro but the good feelings quickly faded. The menu was quite small, service was very slow for a quiet winter night and the food simply lacked seasoning and seemed hastily prepared. I had grilled vegetables to start and they were barely charred and had no seasoning at all. I longed to be in my kitchen to grab my "Greek Freak" seasoning blend of garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, etc. to make those bland chopped vegetables sing. A French Onion soup was better but tasted almost entirely of sherry. The chicken was a bit of a shock....a big slab of pasty white meat with grill marks but again, virtually no taste except from the oil and vinegar dressing on the arugula heaped on top. That was my favorite part. Two flavored non-alcoholic limeades set us back $24 which seemed ridiculous even for NYC. All in all, $100 bill for ho hum. In a neighborhood full of food, you can do better. I wish we had spent five minutes researching and gone out on our own.

Really a great neighborhood style restaurant. Small and intimate, but the picture windows give the feel of an outdoor café. The Vine Burger is a must! Extensive wine and beer menu, and fabulous signature cocktails. Restaurant can be lively and noisy; off hours are relaxing and pleasant for intimate dining and conversation. Wait staff friendly and efficient.

The sirloin burger on brioche is fabulous, as are the fries. Love the red sangria. This is a nice restaurant attached to the Library Hotel with street side seating, weather permitting. Casual, but FAR from fast food. Not my first time here, and won’t be my last!

This is a lovely restaurant for a respite from the hustle of Midtown. It is very pretty, has a good menu and the wait staff is excellent.

Had the cobb salad the other night. It was good but nothing to write home about. Server was nice but could have been more attentive

2019 Aug, after work sat outside with a co-worker for drinks and an order of their Fries that were delicious. Service was great, and prices $14-16 for a glass of wine. I can’t imagine how much a mixed drinks are - but what do u expect from Manhattan. We usually look for Happy Hour, but needed something close the office.

Had eggs benedict here and coffee, a dull room. Food average, hollandaise sauce rather congealed, eggs cooked well, over salty dressing on the salad garnish. My cappuccino was cold, ordered a second which was better, still charged for cold one. Wouldn't eat here again. Waiting staff pleasant.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel staff and it was a quick walk to reach it. All though we didn't have a reservation we were seated quickly. The food was phenomenal. Definitely worth the visit, should I be in the area again, I'm coming back.

Management and service staff were very gracious and friendly. Felt welcomed from the moment we arrived, until after our meal. Would definitely dine here again. Worth the visit.

I had some time to kill between meetings and ducked into this restaurant in hopes of a quite few minutes to cool off and have a cup of good coffee. What I found was a lovely lovely restaurant with excellent and friendly staff. Delicious cup of latte and temptation to eat a second breakfast because everything passing me looked (and smelled) amazing.

Madison & Vine is located on the NE corner of Madison & 41st. It is connect to the adjacent Library Hotel. The weather was nice and the restaurant has a nice ambiance with an indoor/outdoor dining option. There are also 3-4 tables for 2 on the sidewalk which is where we sat. Service was friendly and good. It was a very late breakfast and I had the eggs Benedict which were cooked nicely. The restaurant has a nice vibe and is convenient being on the corner and right next to the hotel.

Enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip, then Beer Braised Short Rib Hash (Sunny Side Eggs, Yukon Potatoes, Sweet Onion, Fine Herbs), Smoked Salmon Plate, and BEC.

Bartenders make you feel welcome even when eating alone. Traveling on business makes it important to find a place where solo diners feel welcome as well as groups. the food was good, the ambiance as well. The only downside was that it was chilly as it was an open to air restaurant and it being May, not so warm. That is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

well located on Madison, from outside it appears better than it actually is. Dark and noisy inside, with badly kept wooden tables. Unbelievable to see waiters pouring the wine (by the glass) not from the bottle but from a glass jug. Never seen before. The wine burger is not bad but leaves you somehow unsatisfied. I do not agree with most notes on this restaurant although maybe this is all ordinary in NY

What a wonderful experience my wife and I had this evening. Great menu and prepared to perfection. If you are in the area don’t hesitate to stop by for lunch ,dinner or nightcap ! Can’t say enough.

Since we were staying at the library hotel,we had Couple of breakfasts lunch and dinner there. Food is very very good service is quick reasonable lots of people really liked it

This bar/restauraunt was a great find. We got an outside table and the service was very good. I had the NY strip steak which was excellent, my wife had a chicken dish which was also good.

I went to this place twice. The people that work there were awesome. The food was good, try the ceviche!!

We were staying at the Library Hotel and decided to eat here again. It is a good place for lunch and we enjoy the food there. I had the steak sandwich and enjoyed as much as the first time. It was really hot the day we went and it was rather hot inside. The service was rather slow and they seemed rather overwhelmed, even though there was not that many people inside. Regardless, it is a good place for lunch and we would eat there again.

My husband and I chose different Starters and Mains, we sampled each others food, we drank too much, everything was served fast and efficiently.

Excellent service, open until late, typical American dishes, very good meat. Excellent value for money Until next time

Pleasant staff and service, rather gloomy decor. Ate here on a rainy sunday evening as convenient to my hotel. Good hamburger plus one glass of wine and tax and tip cost 50$ so no real value.

Limited choices on menu but really good food. The quality is steadfast and the service really nice. A great place to catch a late lunch or early dinner between appointments!

This is a nice place offering classical food in mid town. The prices are quite correct for the area.

Stayed at Library Hotel. This restaurant is attached. Sunday night not very busy (which we like). Really good food, average wait time to get meal. Very good wine. Waitress very engaging and knowledgeable. Wasn't one thing wrong with the place. Would eat there again when staying at the Library Hotel.

Food mediocre at best. Service mediocre at best. Menu very basic, not inspiring and no specials. For the Manhattan prices and mediocre food you could make at home, many other places in NYC to enjoy a great meal for the same price. This place use to be really good pre-Covid. Not anymore.

We have visited this restaurant several times over the years and they have always delivered. They are located next to the hotel we usually stay at when in NYC, in mid Manhattan. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night drinks. They seem to be very popular with locals - always busy & bustling during meal times. We came here last night for a light dinner - shared a calamari and a bolognese pasta. Both were excellent. The portions were very large. The calamari was lightly battered & crispy - not greasy at all. The pasta was done al dente and the bolognese sauce made from short ribs was perfection. Highly recommend this place for great cocktails and food, reasonably priced.

This restaurant is lively on a weekday so consider making a reservation for lunch or be ready to sit at the bar. Nice wine selection, great salads, especially with grilled prawns added. Brunch on the weekend was just OK.

Shocking food, nothing fresh for sure, overpriced for below average food. The restaurant is often empty which should serve as a warning sign. No sympathy for failing restaurants like these that make no effort in what they put infront of customers, I never leave reviews but after my experience here I felt no option but to share., awful atmosphere as staff members and manager sat at bar!!

This restaurant is in a great location on Madison Avenue close to Grand Central. We had dinner here on two evenings during our five night stay in NYC. Lovely atmosphere and very good choice on menu. We started each evening with two excellent cocktails from the bar. Over the two evenings we had steak, burgers, chicken and fish and all were delicious.Good wine list with some very nice red wines. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The place had a nice environment. For a hotel restaurant is very quaint and I actually thought I was at a regular wine restaurant. The hostess was very accommodating when moved one bar stool next to the other so we both can sit together. A major plus for having the bathroom within the restaurant and not going to the hotel lobby. Another plus for having hooks under the bar for my purse. I would have preferred to have the doors open and enjoy the ac since the heat was coming in. The menu was one page but had a nice variety. The sweet potato fries were super light and airy. The veal meatballs were fantastic. The furniture was a little tired.

Got very busy early evenings appeared to be a popular venue for people after work and it had a limited choice of nice beers for my liking.

You will never have a better roast chicken dinner anytime, anywhere! Such a great meal and a wonderful restaurant. The staff is amazing and the service is so great. We wanted a last minute reservation and we we’re delightfully accommodated on Christmas Eve.

great drink and food located attached the the hotel library. strongly recommend. seems to be an after work get together for drinks and then the dinner crowd picked up. great meal, service and very reasonably priced

The outside seating successfully avoids the pedestrian footpath to grand central but is still exposed to traffic fumes and direct headlights. Inside if you want some privacy though you will be pushed to find that with the cramped table proximity. The food is well prepared and priced, though there are many other options in the city to pick from unless stopping for a bite near gct.

Ambience: 5 stars. Menu variety: 3 stars. Food: 4 stars. Attentiveness of server: 3 stars. Drinks menu: 3 stars. Value: 3 stars. Cleanliness of lower floor including bathroom and stairs: 3 stars. The food took an hour to arrive; the server took about 10 minutes to bring a drink menu or drink. Apparently all you could order was on the short drink menu. I did like being there and the food was fine and I arrived not starving.

We stayed at the Library hotel so Madison & Vine was the "in-house bar & restaurant". We had a late lunch the day we arrived. Great Cobb salad and good burger. We also had drinks at bar after play. Liked open air element as weather was beautiful.

Husband ordered Kale Caesar Salad with tuna. Tuna was BAD as in too old to be served to anyone. He took one bite and sent it back. Asked for shrimp instead of tuna. Shrimp was okay, kale was mushy and he didn't eat the kale, which he normally loves. I had the Grilled Chicken Paillard. The chicken was pounded as thin as paper and was about as tasty. Enough said.

We happened upon this place while walking in the area, and were happy to find it. We sat for a brunch on a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. We had our pick of tables, and chose one inside, but close to the wide-open street tables. Like inside, but feels outside. The white wine cocktails were very tasty, and our meals arrived in short order. My benedict was very good, but my brunch-mates "Hangover Pasta" was a bit too cheesy. That may be a personal choice though. Overall, the experience was good, and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again, and I'd recommend it for you if you're in the area.

We happened by here while in the Grand Central area. Boy we’re we surprised at the enticing and slightly different brunch menu. Everything was well executed and the service was timely and pleasant. What more can you ask for?

Breakfast reservations here were thin so we grabbed a time that was available. When we arrived the restaurant had only a few tables they were serving and very thin staff. Orange juice was watered down and eggs were cold. My daughter’s pancakes were good. Difficult to get refills. Will pass on returning. Better options available especially for the price.

We called in here for evening meal, situated on a corner You can sit in or outside Busy place obviously popular We had a lovely main course with drinks A little pricey but was enjoyable

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat at 10.30pm when we happened on madison and vine . A nice looking wine bar bistro opened on to the street. They were still serving and we had a delicious burger and a nice glass of chilled wine . Nice atmosphere and good service.

We stopped here after checking out of the Library Hotel. We didn't find any vegan options on the menu so we asked the waitress if the chef could make us something. The chef sure did! We had delicious mixed vegetables and a wonderful eggplant salad. It was beautiful and delicious!

Though technically part of the Library Hotel, it is easily standalone. Try The Vine Burger - excellent. And the macaroni! Brilliant!

We had an average meal here, with a limited choice from a limited menu, food was fine but the cost did not justify a burger and chicken with truffle fries and a couple of small beers

Tuna is the best. Gourmet. Congratulations Chef. This Tuna that I eated was excelent. Experimentei o Atum preparado de uma forma extraordinaria.

We had an excellent dinner here. I had the steak salad, which was very substantial and the steak was cooked to perfection. Our server, Dhali was an excellent and on the spot with everything. Be sure to save room for the brownie dessert.

Madison and Vine is a nice restaurant with good service. Lunch was good. Menu has great salads and the stake sandwich was good.

A very busy spot, so a booking is recommended. Good menu, but quite a limited wine list for a wine bar. We ordered shrimp cocktail, french onion soup, steak and a burger, all of which were delicious. Roman was our waiter, the service was efficient, if a little speedy, a little time between courses would be better.

Called in for lunch as a couple, superb food, excellent wine served by very friendly bar staff.Returned two days later for evening meal as a threesome, again food was superb, extensive wine list, it is NYC so not a cheap place but you get what you pay for.

A pleasant restaurant with welcoming and friendly staff. A good wine list with affordable options. The grilled tuna and salmon were excellent meals, fresh and well presented. The chicken pillared was very disappointing (tasteless) and unappealing. Noise level was moderate, at times difficult to have a conversation. Tables were not sufficiently socially distanced.

Ate here on our arrival on our very first night. We didn't have to book a table, but at the weekends it would be advisable. Beautiful food, beautiful surroundings

Don't miss the veal meatballs as an appetizer or entree. The prices are reasonable for the food quality and the Madison Ave location.

We had a breakfast inclusive package with our stay at the Library Hotel. We had breakfast here each morning of our 6 night stay. Whilst the food was excellent the service was not. Everything was an effort. The servers looked bored and stood leaning on the counter staring into space. I had to ask for more coffee each morning, even though we were the only people there on our first 3 mornings. The eggs benedict was served with a side of fried potatoes or greens. I asked if I could have a little fruit or a few berries on the side instead. The waitress said no that I would be charged 8 dollars and would have to order it as extra. I said I would just have it on its own then, but it came out with a massive green salad which was such a waste. My husband asked for a refill of his watered down orange juice and was told it would be an extra 5 dollars. There were different staff on each morning and all of them had the same attitude.

Our first visit to Madison and Vine and atmosphere, food and friendly staff was outstanding. We enjoyed a couple hours in this beautiful restaurant. Malyia and Roman were very friendly and helpful with food choice. We had a tasty cheese plate to begin. We recommend the salmon and delicious steak salads. I am vegetarian and chef made a beautiful veggie and pasta meal! Yummy! Ending the night with Creme Brûlée! It was made the way we love it - thin with a nice crusty top! We will definitely return on our next NYC trip!

Stopped here while trying to find a place for lunch after a long walk around NYC. Fab menu, we had Mac n Cheese & Tuna tartare. Wonderful wine selection, lovely place to stop for a bite to eat. I could sit there all day and watched the world go by. Lovely friendly staff. Cockatils also FAB!

We were staying at the Libray and went there for dinner. Service was terrible, and the food was, at best, regular. There are much better options in the city.

My mom and I take a girls trip to NYC every year and stay in Midtown. A few years ago on a Friday night we were tired but wanted to grab a quick dinner, so we asked our concierge where to go. He recommended Madison and Vine, and now it’s our yearly favorite for Friday night. The wine is amazing, the cheese platter is delicious, the Vine burger is a favorite, apps are great, I could go on. Buy a bottle of wine if you plan on having more than two glasses and it’s much more affordable. We went this evening and Roman was our server. We remembered him from last year and had outstanding service. Everyone here is friendly, it has a trendy but welcoming vibe, and we’ve never had a long wait. Prices are average for NYC. Honestly I recommend everyone I know going to NYC to stop here. I’m SO glad it was recommended to us years ago and will keep coming back.

We had a good lunch at this restaurant through the service wasn’t exceptional. We had the Cobb salad and truffle macaroni- both dishes tasted good and were large portion sizes. Overall a good lunch option but nothing special.

Great place although a bit cold indoors so we moved outside. Our server Jim was outside - had a good laugh with him, it’s an easy going place with good food. Will definitely return soon.

If you find yourself in this area around lunchtime, give Madison and Vine a try. Excellent lunch choices, with a good number of healthy and more filling dishes. The choices are not overwhelming, but there is definitely something for everyone. Everything we had was well prepared. Service was very good as well. Prices are reasonable. There is a huge wine menu, but you don’t have to drink to enjoy this place.

We were staying at the Library hotel and arrived after 7pm. We had a little look around but this restaurant on the corner looked nice and we weren't disappointed. Smallish menu but good food. We wanted to return but ran out of time. Like the hotel, the staff were friendly and very helpful

Ground floor of the Library Hotel, great location, great spot. Nice inside or on the sidewalk patio. Good food, nice wine and drink list, and incredible service. Roman looked after us each time we went in and he is the best! Ask for him.

We arrived earlier than our appointment time, there were empty seats, but the waiter told us to go outside and come back later at our appointment time, it was 30 degrees outside. We will never come back.

We are always looking for places to eat that are not the typical tourist destinations. We found Madison & Vine and what a great spot. We ordered cobb salads and a burger with fries. The service was fast, attentive, food was great and the atmosphere was that languid feeling you look for on Sunday for brunch. Thank you Madison & Vine - a relaxing experience with good, clean food.

We were lucky enough to get an unreserved table for 2 at 7 pm one weekday at this small, corner storefront restaurant, and we both loved our food and time there. We had the salmon and pasta with seafood entrees, dessert, martini, and wine, and the service and cozy ambience were lovely.

Needed a place for early drinks and bar food. Excellent wine list but pricey. Wish they had a happy hour which knocks off a star. Great bar food. Fried calamari big portion and mushroom quesadilla very tasty. Definitely worth a visit. Gets busy later in the evening.

A random find as we were on the hunt for steak. We ordered two strip steak and they were delicious and cooked perfectly. The menu seemed to have a variety of dishes but to be honest we didn’t look too much as we knew what we wanted! The restaurant was busy which we always take as a good sign. The restaurant is small with the tables for two in the middle a little cramped. No bother for us but some may not like it. Wine and beers were good and we’d happily go back if ever in town again to see what else they had to offer.

Traveled to the city for business, stayed at the Library Hotel (Great Hotel!), after a day of traveling we decided to eat at Madison & Vine located in the hotel for the convenience. The restaurant has a neighborhood feel and was very busy. Roman was waiting on us and we found that he was very attentive to our needs. Our dishes were Grilled Tuna and Roasted Organic Chicken with a side of Truffle Fries. Both dishes were very good. Overall experience was what we hoped for after a day of travel.

Showed up for a late lunch and the majority of the restaurant was occupied by a very noisy kids party. Should not have accepted other reservations as only two tables and few spots at the bar were available. Incredibly noisy not well controlled kids. Great service by our waiter Jim who did make the day at least acceptable.

This was my second visit to Madison & Vine in three years (when staying at the adjoining Library Hotel). The restaurant is on a corner, open to the street, with some tables outside. It offers excellent food, in a busy, vibrant atmosphere. It seems to be used by a mixture of tourists and native New Yorkers and I have felt that it offers an authentic NY dining experience of a good standard...not bargain prices, but still value for money, in my opinion.

The restaurant is very noisy when they are alot of people, it is hard to hear the person that you are with. I thought the food was average. Would not go back when there are so many other options to go to.

We had a nice Saturday morning breakfast here as a family before a day of activities in the city. The food was very good and relatively standard breakfast fare. It was a little pricy and the kitchen was a little slow that morning but overall it was a good, quiet restaurant with good service and food.

New York strip with fries just what I needed. Friendly bar staff, reasonably priced. Steak cooked perfectly (MR).

The centerpiece of New York’s absolute best — prettiest, too, so close to grand central make the journey home easy. the food was great special the cheese dish the one i had in long time. Service was little slow but they are very busy.

Good location for this restaurant right on the corner of Madison. They have inside & street side dining (tables of 2 on sidewalk) & the place is usually bustling with good atmosphere. We had a late breakfast & sat curb side to people watch. Coffee was very good too. I had the steak hash & my husband had the eggs Benedict. Both very nicely prepared & portion was filling but not wasteful. Staff are very friendly & we never waited long for service. It does a good lunch & dinner crowd as well!

My partner and I came here for our New Years Eve dinner, and it was a nice balance between low-key and festive. About two weeks into our holiday it was great to have something that felt wholesome and not too heavy - we shared the organic roast chicken and strip steak salad. The staff were friendly and the drinks range should meet any taste. Would highly recommend.

Great quality food and friendly service. Very busy but this added to great atmosphere. Chicken meal was of good quality and tasted fresh. Service was efficient and welcoming. Would definetly recommend especially if you are staying at the library hotel as it is a very short trip to your bed!

We had checked into the Library hotel earlier and had a good wander around Times Square and the Bryant Park Christmas area. Jumbo shrimp cocktail was great to start and I had a wonderful Cobb salad. Great service throughout, and reasonably priced, would recommend.

Been there done that, not doing it again. I do not like to sit in my next neighbor's lap to eat. And the alfresco dining for me is a turnoff. Its NYC streets people.

This restaurant, attached to the Library Hotel, is a lovely, small cafe which can opens its doors to become essentially an al fresco bistro with small tables on the sidewalk. Great lunch spot in Midtown East. Burger and fries excellent.

I was staying at the Library Hotel above the restaurant and popped in for lunch. The"barbecue" chicken burger with fries sounded good. It was delivered without fries and when I asked, a waiter told me "no fries, there's a problem with the kitchen". A good place would tell you this before you ordered. The chicken was not barbecued just coated with a sloppy, cheap tasting BBQ sauce. My bottle of carbonated water was overpriced even for NYC standards. No discount given for the lack of fries. Worst NYC dining experience I have had unfortunately.

Nice , clean, well maintained. Somewhat small.. make a reservation if close to noon. It is a popular place . Fried chicken sandwich was great. My associate said the Steak sandwich was good as well.

This is the second year we chose to dine at Madison & Vine as our first meal after arriving in Manhattan. We had just checked into the Library Hotel from a long flight and decided on an early dinner (5:00). My daughter had their delicious fish and chips on her mind ever since eating there a year ago. We were surprised to not find it on the dinner menu, not realizing it's only available on the lunch menu. She was disappointed and mentioned it to the waiter who said he would see if they could make an exception. He came back and gave her the good news. We were surprised at how accommodating they were even when we didn't ask. I enjoyed the grilled salmon that was cooked to perfection. The skin was crispy and the salmon melted in your mouth. I still say it's the best prepared salmon I've ever tasted. The entire meal was delicious and service excellent.

We are staying at the Library Hotel and the restaurant is part of the hotel. It is very cozy and has a lovely menu to select from. We had a seafood pasta dish and a falafel burger, both of them delicious. We are very tempted to go back and have the banana split before we leave NYC.

Good meal, good wine, great service. Wa was at The Library Hotel and this restaurant is perfect!!!!!

I arrived at a busy and it was tighly packed with people, but I got a table with no problems (the last one I think!). My food was tasty, the wine was fine and the waiter suggested the dessert. It is loud, so for those who want a conversation, expect to lean in a bit when chatting, but that's part of it's intimate atmosphere. I'd go back on another visit to NY.

I'm vegetarian and struggled to piece together a meal from the menu. One (very lightly dressed) pasta dish was available, and a side salad or French fries. It was fine, but this restaurant isn't a great option if you like vegetables and don't eat meat.

This was our “Go Too” place for drinks and dining during our recent visit to New York. The food is excellent as is the service and staff. Have an early start for dinner to take advantage of the Happy Hour, 4.00-7.00 pm. And pass our regards to Norman and Roosevelt.

We ate here on our first evening in New York having just checked into the Library Hotel. We had shrimp cocktail and veal meatballs for appetisers and organic chicken and macaroni au gratin for entrees. All were very good, together with a cocktail/mocktail which went down well after a day travelling. Service was good, non-intrusive. Recommended.

Avocado toast was fresh and fantastic. Cheese platter was a good size snack. Very convenient next to hotel.

Visited this restaurant in a rainy Thursday afternoon. Although the restaurant was busy with the lunch crowd, our party of 3 were offered a seat at the bar quickly. Our food was served hot and was tasty. Also super convenient as we were staying at The Library Hotel which is attached to the restaurant.

This was just so close to our hotel so ended up eating here twice. This place is what I always imagined dining out in nyc would be like. There were couples just enjoying wine at the bar but also large groups having dinner out. The service was excellent, wine was recommended and perfect. Suggestions were made from the menu by our waiter. Water was topped up regularly throughout. Can highly recommend the chicken and the cheese starter (which is huge).

We had the pasta which was nice however we did fine the restaurant overpriced for the experience. Most dishes were nice however overall did not go back here.

This is the second time we have had a meal at M&V, the first time being on our last visit to NYC in 2014. We were not disappointed by our return visit. The service was as attentive as ever, the ambiance was fabulous and the food was amazing. My husband enjoyed his vegetarian option of wild mushroom ravioli and I equally enjoyed my roasted organic chicken. We shared a cheese plate for dessert and washes it down with a lovely bottle of wine. This is not the cheapest restaurant in NYC, however the quality of the food justifies the price of the meal. We definitely have M&V on our list for the next time we’re in NYC.

We had a great Saturday lunch. The menu had brunch and typical lunch fare. One of us had a BEC which is a bacon, egg, avocado toast and the other had the burger. Both were delicious

Curt and unfriendly unhelpful staff who didn't crack a smile with patrons only with the manager. Below average food and expensive. Avoid.

We visited the restuarant whilst staying at the hotel. The food was very good especially the burger. Lovely atmosphere.

As occasional visitors to NYC we have our list of places where we like to dine. We changed things up and made a reservation here without knowing much about Madison and Vine. I'm so glad we did - it's now on the list! The food was fantastic and our server, Roman, was attentive without being overbearing. The price was as expected for dinner in Midtown Manhattan. Overall it was an enjoyable experience - we'd definitely recommend Madison and Vine.

We had dinner at this restaurant. The menu was fairly limited but the food we had was good. Service was awful, and prices were quite high. I wouldn't return.

Very nice spot with a decent wine options, a nice bar and some beer as well as cocktail offerings. Appetizers and light dishes, a few entree options and decent ambience. It worth stopping by to wait out rush hour or off peak when you just need a spot to chill in midtown.

We were staying in-hotel but gave this place a Sunday brunch visit - I had amazing baked eggs with ricotta, service was great, the weather fantastic, and the wine list something else. Would heartily recommend for brunch and a look over the a la carte menu suggests you'll do great any time!

We called in for coffee. The place was very clean and nicely set out, but the service was poor. The man serving wasn’t really interested. Of all the many places we visited in New York it was probably the only one where we decided not to leave a tip. That said our tip would be - try and remember that it’s guests that pay salaries. A smile and politeness didn’t cost anything. We wouldn’t recommend of revisit.

The place is small but very nice. The staff are super nice and pros. Food was great for the four of us. We enjoyed their happy hour wines ( available till 6pm).

Came here shortly after arriving in Manhattan after a tedious flight. It was recommended by the concierge of the hotel we were staying with due to its proximity. It was… fine. Nothing special, though also not bad. We split the mussels. (Sauce was delicious but the muscles were quite grainy), the meatballs (great taste but served to us cold), and the burrata (the dish was a little bland). Cocktails were standard. Service was also just okay, we were given an incorrect bill for another table. To the staffs credit they were very busy this evening. Music was so loud I could not communicate with the other members of our party. Five star prices not really backed up by the food and service.

The staff welcomes you back on a daily basis. The food is quite good and the service efficient and pleasant. Enjoyed stopping in for a drink after an evening out.

it rained most of the day so decided to stay close to where we were staying. we found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. we were glad we did. great service great food and reasonable prices for NYC

Really great burger. The burger itself isn't seasoned much but the mayo-based sauce it comes with more than makes up for it. Fries are seasoned well and thin like I like them. Haven't been disappointed by it yet.

We had a late brunch here on Sunday. The menu was reasonably limited but very good. We enjoyed baked eggs with spinach and a spicy tomato sauce and also a short rib hash. The service was friendly and efficient. Passing by a day later, when the weather was warmer, we saw the doors open and people dining on the sidewalk – it all looked most inviting.

Went recently as walking past and tired. It was ok. V nice atmosphere, service mixed ( water guy was great , other waiter really not), food fine. Overall was fine, but not great.

Very good food we had a breakfast and enjoyed it. Place is surrounded by scaffolding at moment so didn't get the full experience

My friend and I stumbled upon Madison and Vine on a rainy evening and enjoyed a delicious dinner. The staff were friendly and warm and very accommodating. We liked this restaurant so much that we walked 20 blocks the following day to have lunch there!! With all the choices in NYC, we went back to Madison and Vine!! Highly recommended!

Madison & Vine is on the corner of Madison and Library Way, it services The Library Hotel for room service. The look is good, table service for drinks was average, we arrived when this place was 90% Empty! I ordered an omelette with cooked onions and peppers. 45 minutes later I was offered a stale croissant ONE hour later my omelette arrived. Thee only good thing about this omelette was it was hot, the onions however were almost raw and the peppers were cool, plus the omelette was dry and over cooked really disappointed given the place was almost empty, how long does it take to cook an omelette? My husband ordered room service from our room on two other occasions the food arrived quickly one meal was woeful with soggy calamari and average veal meatballs. The second time they brought him the WRONG meal, which they replaced with the correct dish, a steak which he said was okay. There are so many great places to eat in NY this is NOT one of them. Unless your starving and tired give it a miss!

Stumbled upon this when walking around and looking for a restaurant. It’s a nice casual restaurant with very attentive service. We had calamari & spinach / artichoke dip as appetizers and varied mains ranging from pasta, to steak and salad. All were very delicious. Had some beer & cocktail as wine menu very expensive (but that is normal for NYC). Can recommend.

We stumbled across Madison and Vine whilst searching for an American diner for breakfast.. you could easily miss it as a breakfast spot as it looks quite upmarket and more of a dinner venue but I’m so glad we went in to check the menu. It’s fantastically priced for New York and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. We had the BEC (Bacon egg and cheese) and the Cap’n crunch french toast - they were unbelievable and we’re definitely going back again, soon! Really good coffee too! Aaron, the Barman / waiter was really friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of tips for our trip - but wasn’t intrusive at all. Thanks Madison & Vine!

We were looking for a place near Herald Square for lunch on Saturday and chose Madison & Vine. The place is really cool inside and had a great location. Be advised that they only have brunch on weekends. As we were looking for lunch our only alternative was a burger, which was excellent. Also, we had a reservation, but there were no tables available so we sat at the bar. I think if you’re looking for brunch, the place is probably outstanding.

Hangover Pasta is a good enough dish. My espresso was not warm enough. I use sugar and the sooon was too large. Disappointed that none of the lunch menu items were available on a Saturday since I found the brunch menu limited, but love the hotel and will definitely be back for lunch and dinner menus.

To celebrate my wife's birthday, we all went to Madison and Vine. Omar, the general manager and the wait staff, were all excellent, accommodating and as friendly as could be. The atmosphere, food and service were top notch. It's a small restaurant with a lovely ambience and cozy feel. We all loved it and we will definitely be back!

The service was not very good, not very attentive servants. I ordered a "pineapple mohito". In my book is mohito a sweet cocktail based of raw sugar and myntha. This was a fresh and sour one. The food, Pasta Bolognese, was okey, but a little lack of spices. And no servant asked how it was, and no spices available at the table. An okey place, not expensive in consideration of location, but not more either.

Good location, corner of Madison Avenue and 41 Street (Library way as it runs toward the NY public library). Smart looking decor, clean, nice atmosphere... everything looking fine for a great dinner. Unusually large choice of wine by the glass, wine arrived, and continues the promise of a good night. When the food arrived, the night falls flat. Tuna tartare tasteless, macaroni au gratin bone dry, tasteless, rubber texture. What a let down. Server asked why very little of the macaroni was eaten. Too much food he suggested, no too dry was our response. Disappointingly, he never took this on board but simply walked away and then turned up rapidly with the cheque. Conclusion. If you enjoy food don't go here, but if you just want a drink, then its fine. That's Madison and VIne.

We were staying at the Library Hotel, to which Madison and Vine is attached, and offered a nice table by the window where I enjoyed a tasty meal of organic chicken. My wife had delicious salmon. Throughout, service was slick and attentive. There was a nice range of wines and a pleasant atmosphere. Delicious cheesecake dessert. This is quite a cosy restaurant and prices are reasonable.

We had a nice early meal here before our flight home. I paid for the meal by card, and left a cash tip on the table, and took the counterfoil of the receipt home noting no tip left. I then receive my credit card bill, to find they have added $20 onto the credit card bill!! Needless to say I am taking this up with my credit card company for fraudulent activity.

I had passed Madison & Vine many times when walking around Midtown but had never gotten a chance to get around to trying it. When another restaurant I had planned on going to that afternoon was closed for the day, it so beautiful of a day I decided to try it for lunch. Since indoor dining has not opened in New York City yet, it is all outdoor cafe dining, which was fine with me. I had a nice table by the potted plants, socially distanced from everyone by tables that were nicely spaced but still had a nice amount of sun and shade. The service was wonderful. The server and the busboy on duty that afternoon were really nice and very professional. They both worked so well together that the service on the meal was seamless. They were a good team. The food is excellent and the portion size was very generous. I had a Shrimp PoBoy with French Fries and it was excellent. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and sweet served with a delicious sauce on the side and the fries were freshly fried and well salted with a small side of house made pickles. The sandwich had fresh lettuce and tomatoes on top and that really impressed me how fresh the veggies were on the sandwich. The sandwich had a lot of flavor to it and a combination of sweetness of the seafood and spiciness because of the sauce. The whole meal was excellent. It is just a beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere, wonderful music in the background and a nice calm environment to just sit back and relax and enjoy your meal.

Disappointing, waiter who grows for consumption: do you want bacon with the Burger . Of course we said yes and on the note: 18 dollars extra when we were not notified before. Taste quality of the Burger. No goodbye from the staff when we left when they were 5 behind the bar. To avoid

I ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was amazing. I ordered room service two other times---amazing!!

My wife's cousin who flew from Ohio to meet us invited us to have brunch. The food was very ordinary. Nothing to comment. Not my type of place.

Had a casual business dinner at Madison & Vine in New York. The service was excellent with attentive waiters, and the food was good. However the dining room is small, the tables are too close together and the place was very noisy, so it was very difficult (almost impossible) to have a good conversation..

Nice venue. Just of the street. You can sit outside and watch the busy street. Good selection of food and wine by the glass. Overall reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Can go there again.

Hotel restaurant located in center of NYC and a short walk from Grand Central Station and subways. Vibrant setting for although small and not a lot of seating. Get there early and make reservations. Great service and tasty meals.

easy dinner next to our hotel.... food is very good with pleasant waiters... reasonable prices...has a good bar atmosphere as well

This place was just right for a Sunday evening bite to eat. It’s not loud in there and the service is great. The place is not cheap. I about fell over when I saw the bill and the glass of wine was $17. I’ll go back, but won’t be ordering any drinks.

My wife and I stopped by one recent Friday night and hand some very good wine and an appetizer. Both were very good and reasonably priced but most memorable (in a great way) was our server, Roosevelt!

A handy restaurant if you are staying in the area, staff was helpful and prompt. Food was decidedly under seasoned and bland. Which is a shame because it’s ambiance leaves you expecting more

Looking for somewhere to have dinner, found this one close to our hotel. Good menu and service at a reasonable cost.

Came here across from hotel stay. Admittedly, during current pandemic need patience. Young waiter bit inexperienced. Lunch menu is adequate. Selected mussels & chicken paillard. Mussels broth poor. Chicken paillatd poor breast beaten to death then cooked like schnitzel; dry & almost endible. Mucho greens covering this poor breast. Interesting for me in that bar Stout down from hotel, bartender free poured all various cocktails. At Madison young lady bartender measured every ingredient into cocktail mix!! Would assume by unique location chef would be more adventurous. Pedestrian menu for this location.

Convenient for guests of the Library Hotel. Food is adequate. Menu is limited, There is a bar. Apparently no breakfast.

I stopped in for dinner on my last trip to NYC. The wine list was solid and the food was good. It is centrally located in mid town, the chicken was solid.

Food and atmosphere was excellent- we were going to eat outside but it was raining. we ordered steak and dad had lobster- food was good along with the service. Would definitely come there again.

We stayed at the Library Hotel and ate here twice, we were pleased with the standard of food and especially the service. My steaks were fantastic and my wife's salad was delicious.

Madison & Vine is in a great location (especially if you are staying at Library Hotel which we were). They have great drinks and good food. A nice spot for a meal in NYC!

Went there for breakfast the last day of our stay at The Library Hotel, and we wish we had just opted for the continental breakfast at the hotel. Prices are high, even for NYC, considering the food was nothing special. It's very busy at night and they have a great sidewalk area, but looks like it would be better for after work drinks and appetizers. Service was mediocre, had to ask for coffee refill and jam for the muffin, which was brought promptly, but shouldn't have to ask for basics when we were the only ones there, and they were late so we had to wait 30 minutes after opening to even order.

As we stayed in the Library Hotel this restaurant was so convenient for us. The service is excellent and no long waits. Good atmosphere and great food. The Vine burger has to be one of the best burgers I have had. Highly recommend.

We ate dinner here our first night in NYC with no prior knowledge of the restaurant. But it was linked to our hotel and they were able to get us a table. The food was really good and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Roman, took very good care of us, he even perceived that we liked a certain type of wine and brought us a taste of another wine for us to consider next time. Also the young man who assisted Roman, whose name I didn’t catch, was very sweet and made sure we always had plenty of water. We will be back!

When traveling to NYC for work I often stay at a nearby hotel. I have walked past this restaurant a number of times. This trip I made sure to carve out time for dinner. My husband and I were not disappointed. The food was great, and the service was excellent. This is a small bistro so definitely make reservations!

As this was next to our hotel it was an obvious option after our arrival. It was friendly, the food was good and the wines were good too but expensive, as with the rest of New York. We enjoyed it to the extent that we ate here again for our final meal of the trip.

We came for drinks and a snack. Beautiful cozy space filled with people enjoying each other. We had a fantastic server, Roman, and overall thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We ate here as it is next to the Library Hotel and we needed a quick bite for lunch on our way to a tour. We got there at 11:30 and even though all the tables were empty we were told we could eat at the bar since we didn’t have a reservation. We were fine with that but the tables never did fill up while we were there. I got the veal meatball appetizer and it was very good and I also got the tomato bisque. The bisque had an interesting taste but was very good. My daughter got the Mac and cheese and really liked it. We told the bartender that we had somewhere to be so she called and our food was delivered very quickly. It was a good meal and I would go back.

This restaurant had great reviews on Trip Advisor. We arrived early on a monday night (before Thanksgiving) and found every table full (mainly woman who looked like they were out after work). The decibel level was high and there lively. We had great wine and a good meal. After we requested the dessert menu and decided, our waiter disappeared. We later saw him and 3 others behind the bar chatting as if everyone was gone from the restaurant. Before dessert he was there and attentive. That said, the dessert when it finally arrived was very good.

This restaurant is right near my office and it's the first time in 10 years that I have been working here that I went. First was a lunch for a coworker. Started with soup and then lunch. The soup was excellent and the Cobb salad very good. Service was very good Has a business lunch later in the week, so decided to go again. I asked if they had the soup and was told no. We ordered lunch and a little bit later we were informed they did have the shrimp bisque soup. I decided to order as well as another person at the table. Lunch was served, but no soup. Just after the brought the lunch plates they brought the soup. No apologies as to the lateness of it. Now I have two hot dishes to eat. Had the salmon and it was very good. We were at the table for about an hour and was told they need the table. Thought it was a little rude but we were finished anyway. No apology for that either Food is good but I would suggest some table etiquette

The waiter tried to sell me everything he could, although I explained that I was more for a drink than something stronger. He did his job, but sometimes you have to understand the client. It didn't happen and it showed on his face. We ordered a couple of drinks, which were pretty mediocre. The somewhat cold atmosphere...I didn't like it.

The food was very good and quality. The staff very courteous and with completely honest prices! We found out by chance and it turned out to be a great choice!

Two of us were in New York City on business. We were to rendezvous at Grand Central Station and our business was close by. I had flown in from Florida and he took the train in from the Poughkeepsie area. We stopped her. Enjoyed the meal and atmosphere.

We ate here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. We loved it. Beautiful spot, excellent and friendly service, good food. Small and intimate, but lively. Highly recommend.

Our NewYork friend suggested going there and we were not disappointed. No problem getting in on a Saturday night. Lovely wine size options and a nice selection. Food was very nice, as was the service.

My friend and I decided to meet here for dinner. We started with the Cheese and Charcuterie Board. It was a good selection of cheeses. Not bad. Then I ordered a roasted Cornish hen, and my friend had ribeye steak. My Cornish hen came out very dry. I wish they would tenderize the chicken and make it juicier, but I believe they overcooked it. I was surprised because the looked of my dish was perfect but looks sure can be deceiving. My friend's ribeye steak was just ok. We ordered truffle fries, and that's probably the best part of the night.

We ate here three times whilst we stayed at the Library hotel (1 x breakfast, 2 x late lunches) and it is fantastic. It's a beautiful room to be in, the staff are so friendly, and the food is glorious. They do great veggie options too. Price wise = totally worth it for the very high quality food. E.g. we had two main courses (large portions), and two soft drinks = approx $70.

Just terrible. Very very slow service, cold coffee and just poor food. Servers are not attentive and have attitude. They offer $25.00 unlimited mimosa with entree at brunch. One guest choose that and had 2 minmosas - restaurant would not agree to offer what was on the menu without talking to the Manager - Cann’t recommend this restaurant for food (terrible) or service.

Just as i was walking the streets of NYC. holding hands with my wife, we got hungry and were looking for a nice restaurant to eat in. We stumbled upon this one and it was already crowded. However, we decided to give it a shot and wait for the table. Took a table outside, feeling one with the amazing city and a nice view. We are vegetarians so our options were anyways limited but the server was kind enough to offer us other dishes for options. I must say, the food was delicious (finger licking) and the wine pairing was awesome too. Would recommend this place to all my friends and all you guys who are reading this review. Go for it. :)
Nice place with a diverse menu
I didn’t have anything that should’ve been considered exceptional; it was merely a turkey club and fries. But, it was darn good.
