This place was a hidden cool spot as I walked passed a sign that caught my attention. Magic hour rooftop was a little sign I saw that pointed me in the direction of this spot. They had small finger foods along with some yummy cocktails. Outside is an area where you can play a small putput golf game of enjoy the city view. I loved the rotating lounging area they had!

Very disappointed with the welcome from the security guards who, in my opinion, are a little too showy, after arriving in the 18th, it was impossible to get a table, plus questionable clientele and music so loud that we couldn't discuss over a drink with friends. I definitely don't recommend it.

Food and drink fine the decoration was tacky and cheap and tables not clean - not the vibe we expected or wanted. I decorated cheap plastic Christmas trees set the tone.

ID control by 3 guys not very cool, then you go up, view is just ok, everything is expensive : a not cold beer served in a plastic glass…. Music so loud you can’t really speak….

The vibe is very cute. The Moira rose is like getting two cocktails for the price of one. Last night they closed at 2am. The kitchen closes at 1am and I wish our waiter had told us or done last call for food. By the time she came back to our table, it was just past 1am so I couldn’t place a food order. This was my second visit so I recommend getting a reservation and stopping by for IG-worthy pics and videos.

Well, the place is undeniably pretty and trendy. The music is also good. And the french fries are amazing. But that’s pretty much it. Drinks are awfully prepared, they don’t even look good. We went as a party of five and we weren’t staying at The Moxy, so the hostess arbitrated that the two guys on the party should pay a consumption fee of US$ 100 each so that all the party could go up to the rooftop. When we arrived up there, we were stuck on the bar, because there was no table available. Aside from that, the bartender insisted she had to hold on to my passport, which made me very uncomfortable, as it was the only ID I had in case something happened. I don’t recommend this place.

If you are going for an experience and a photo shoot great! There are 2 sides of dining. One side has a carousel and normal size tables and chairs - the other side has very low tables and I mean low tables. Make sure you are dining on the carousel side or you will be eating your food off your lap literally. The service was horrible. Went for brunch and waited 45 minutes for a drink. The waitress had a partner who didn't speak english...no help!!! The food was overpriced and mediocre at best! Every table we passed had the cotton candy pancakes. They look great.... taste horrible and were cold. Sent food back and waited 1 hr to get it. Condiments -- we never received them!!! Terrible! The ambience is lovely for pictures. it was a photo shoot for us! it was an experience, very expensive experience! We should have gone for a drink at the bar we would have made out better! Good Luck!

This was a great stop for my daughter’s 22nd birthday. Atmosphere is fantastic and you will want to take many pics. Appetizers were good enough- sliders were the stand out. Drinks were pretty good. If you’re looking for a fun atmosphere, I highly recommend.

I visited this bar with my friend as I am over from the UK, this place is so cool, there’s putt putt golf, amazing cocktails and one in particular that comes in a pouch with a glow in the dark straw. The bar is split into two rooms and one side is a DJ the other more of a chilled vibe with a set of carousel spinning chairs. This place is tight on security and has a maximum capacity so make sure you get there with enough time to enjoy everything.

This bar is fun, quirky and great for photos. We didnt have food but it looked great and big portions. The drinks were good but a bit pricey at $10 a can of beer you have to pour yourself. Would have stayed longer if the drinks were a bit cheaper.

We was a group of six in a hen party, very excited to go to this bar! Sat down, got a overpriced drink which was nothing special and after 30mins a women (who said she was the manger) come up to and abruptly asked us to move... She said that the tables were reserved (no sign on the table) she basically accused us of lying I explained our situation and that we was in a hen party and we didn't know. basically threatend to kick us out. My thought is that we wasn't "hip" enough to be there and we didn't look good in your establishment. I was with 2 middle aged women I think that was the problem. I don't mind the fact that we were moved it was just how we was approached and spoken too. Avoid avoid avoid guys!!!!

Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge was a last minute birthday brunch plan. It turned out to be the perfect place to host it. There was an upbeat vibe, our waitress was friendly and accommodating, and the dishes were scrumptious! They brought out a delicious piece of chocolate cake with sparklers which kept the birthday girl smiling all day! After enjoying our delicious brunch we enjoyed the Foreplay Mini Golf area. It is beautifully adorned with pink flirty masked animals. The birthday girl has some gorgeous picture to remember her fun covid birthday.

This is located atop the Moxy Hotel and is well worth the visit! The sunset is absolutely stunning. Service is great and food is on point! Definitely suggest putting this on your list to check it out!

We visited the Magic Hour at Moxy for the New Year's Eve Party 2019. The event was simply disappointing. The disappointment was huge as soon as we entered the venue. The announced breathtaking view of the New York skyline could not be seen. The place is very uncomfortable and gloomy. The Sky Terrace (which certainly offers a great view on warm days) was closed with a kind of plastic glass to make it wind- and weatherproof. Too bad that this glass was dirty and steamed up, so that a view to the outside (which probably was the announced breathtaking view) was not possible. Unfortunately, this plastic glass did not offer protection from the icy temperature that night. As all doors to the interior remained open the whole time, the interior was uncomfortably cold. We had to spend the evening in our winter jackets and therefore party mood hardly came up. It is incomprehensible why no gas heating or similar was used to warm up the rooms to an acceptable temperature. The next disappointment came at the bar when we found out that the announced Premium Open Bar is also a joke. The waiter wanted to charge us for the drinks we ordered because they were not included in the Open Bar. What is an Open Bar if you have to pay for some drinks anyway? A joke! In addition, there was an endless queue for the toilets and at the entire place there was not a single possibility to sit (except the toilets of course). When we sat down on the windowsill the security staff came immediately to ask us to leave. When we asked where we could sit, the answer was that this was not his problem. The party was a joke, did not offer what was announced, was just overpriced and disappointing. I will never go back to this place and I would recommend to anyone to do so as well! Stay away from this place.

What a beautiful place, we had food and cocktails and our server was so lovely what a lovely girl, thank you so much for a great night 💗💗💗

Not what I was expecting. The rooftop is not that high. You are below other buildings in the area so the view is not great but you can see the Empire State Building. The pitch dark hallway in & out of the place feels unsafe & creepy. Why does the inside of the elevator need to be dark? If some in your group are required to check their bags, there is no where for the group to stand inside to wait for them to retrieve their belongings on the way out. The on line reservation system sucks. It won't let you make a reservation. Through open table I learned the issue was that I had to pay a $30 deposit to hold the reservation. Why I needed this for 4:30 p.m. on a Wednesday I don't know. The place was empty. For something later or at a busier time it might be a good business practice but this was just annoying. They were nice enough to email me back but I didn't get it because we were watching our play when they replied. They kindly would have honored the reservation without the deposit due to the slow time when we were there. The drinks are overpriced / expensive even by NY standards. The place is geared to groups so you can get obnoxiously large quantities of things (6L bottles) but just to a get a drink there wasn't much selection. The rotating seating may have been fun but they sat us at a round picnic table with no back support. Tables & chairs are shown in the on line pictures but inside only had uncomfortable benches. The outside area is small & the pink rabbit statutes / sculptures were too sexy / borderline vulgar for my tastes. If you can crop them out of the picture the other settings make nice social media backgrounds.

Super healthy, fresh and gourmet food - mostly for breakfast, situated at the bottom of the newest rooftop in New York. Just opened on January, 4th 2018. It is called « Egghead » and is situated at the bottom of « MagicHour » rooftop and « Moxy » hôtel. 484 7th Avenue, New York. Picture attached shows the « Green and white » gourmet breakfast sandwich (with kale and avocado » filling and the best hash brown in the world (with herbs and melting pecorino cheese. Miam!

The most fun experience in NYC! I took a few of my friends here to celebrate all things pink and we were definitely not disappointed. Pro-Tip: That Big AF Croissant you've been seeing all over social media can be pre-ordered! We had the best time and can't wait to come back.

Horrible espresso martini for $20. View is okay but there are much better if you look. Service was nice but so slow and it wasn’t busy. Definitely avoid. $200 for 4 terrible cocktails.

I went to Magic Hour with my friends for my 22nd birthday and had the best time! The people were so nice there. It was my first time there and I love the layout of the Rooftop bar. It is so fun. There is good music, great drinks, etc. It is so big! I got a table reserved there and it was amazing. I also stayed in the Moxy Hotel and it was so nice and modern. I definitely recommend going to Magic Hour and stay in the Moxy hotel if you can! Love everything. No bad things to say and I am going back for sure.

Fun!!!! Wish they had more variety of drinks. A bit pricey but overall good times and good vibes inside.

Really unfriedly and unprofessional staff - We asked some girls to sit at their table and it was okay with them but we got sent away right away by the staff. They said we have to check with the hostess first for a table - what we did right away & she even walked us back to the same girls table. Then the „manager“ approached us and asked us to leave because its „not our table“ and he didnt care at all that we asked the girls and the hostess. Instead of making money with us the „manager“ walked us out & he even snapped at his own staff for sending us to that table. We‘ve never been treated that badly & we surely won‘t go there again.

Very underwhelming, especially compared to the pictures on their site. Food is nice but the $45 pancakes are not worth it. Staff were nice.

My wife and I have just returned from our first trip to NYC. During our stay, we went to the Magic Hour rooftop bar. It had great views, the food was delicious and the drinks, although on the slightly pricy side, were very nice. The reason however, for my 5 star review is because of how attentive and friendly the staff were when I unexpectedly had a funny turn when there. During the course of our meal, I started to feel unwell. I asked the lovely member of staff, Desara where the bathroom was - she pointed me in the direction - I started slowly making my way there when I felt faint and fell forward. Fortunately a table was there to hold on to. My wife called for help and Desara and one of the security staff, Mr Muirhead were quick to assist. They helped me through to an air conditioned part of the hotel and got me some water, where I started to feel better. Moreover, they refused to let me pay the bill. As I managed to work out, I believe my funny turn came about after having been out all day in Central Park and other parts of New York without drinking water 🤦🏻♂️ - my symptoms appeared consistent with heat exhaustion. My wife and I cannot thank the the staff enough. They were very calm and friendly. The manager and a girl at the front desk (whose names we didn’t get) were also lovely. Should we go back to NYC, we will definitely return and this time, I’ll stay hydrated! Thanks again guys x

Service mediocre, bouncers with attitude, bar food, and drinks that are outrageously overpriced even for NYC. A bottle of Tito’s for hundreds of dollars? The crowd looks like they are 12 year old’s. It is in a good location but there are wayyyyyy better rooftops in the City. In fact, the other MOXY, just a few blocks away, clobbers this place as far as an experience. Hit the Renaissance one block away which has an open roof and better everything

We wanted the Rooftop experience and had read about Magic Hour at the Moxy. Our daughter is 16 so brunch at the weekend was the only option. Glad we went as it was a brilliantly sunny day with a view of the ESB as we enjoyed brunch and cocktails. The Watermelon and Feta salad is to die for and the quirky mains and dessert choices are fantastic. Never tried the crazy golf or other attractions but all looked like a good laugh, especially after a few cocktails with friends.

We loved getting here before the crowds, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The Mezcal drink I had was perfectly smoky, and my boyfriend's pancakes were "just the way my parents used to make them." High praise, indeed. The hotel and themed rooftop bar are definitely appealing to a buzzy and hip crowd, but I found the place just fine. We went in search of an automatic soft-serve ice cream machine on a lower floor, but, alas, not working at the time of our visit. There is a DJ and crazy drinks ( see the "Disco Ball" special - bring your friends!) and a miniature golf course with racy pink rabbits. Views, natch! A fun place!

I was staying in Moxy NYC Times Square so I thought it rude not to visit this bar as I was staying in the same building. The decor is cool and there is a rotating seat in the main bar area. The space it quite small and covered in the winter but opened up in the summer. There is a questionable crazy golf course too. There is a nice view of The Edge (opened on March 11th) and Empire State Building. The drinks are obviously over priced but that is to be expected with the location of the hotel. We only stayed for 1 drink and a very quick round of crazy golf (there were only 3 holes!).

We started our night on the town here. It was nice that we were able to reserve a table for Happy Hour so we were sure we would be able to take advantage of the deals. Service was great and we were well taken care of. The drinks were great and the little food we got also did not disappoint.

This bar is a true illusion, you are left wondering how did they have such great potential and create such a lame place. We stayed at the hotel allowing us free access without paying a ridiculous cover charge. The elevator only allows 7 people at a time creating a long line to get in. There is no where to sit to enjoy a cocktail as all the tables are reserved, although no one sat at these tables while we were there. The magic theming stops at the rooftop and is mismatched with the porn bunny golf thing. The cocktails are expensive and watery, the bar ware is dirty, we basically received no service. With so many amazing craft cocktails available in NYC don’t let your cash disappear here....boring and sub par

To begin, we stayed at the Moxy Hotel yet had to walk outside in the pouring rain to walk through an outside door when the elevator inside the hotel went straight to the restaurant. The greeter was so confused by a large group that I think she put wristbands on everyone who continued to enter the building until I stepped in and let her know we had a reservation. Then, she didn’t give us wristbands, said we didn’t need them, which became a problem once we went upstairs. Anyone and everyone we encountered at the Rooftop Bar was disorganized and/or rude. Our table was broken and it took a few uncomfortable requests for them to seat us at one of their other *many empty tables. The QR code didn’t work on my phone or my tech savvy daughter’s. Acting completely put out, they brought us a paper version of the dinner menu instead of one for brunch. (I would have left at this point, or sooner, but my teenage daughter was very much looking forward to this pink experience for her birthday.) We pieced together ideas for our order (since no one could find a menu for us). My daughter watched as servers brought pink pancakes with giant sparklers on top. We ordered the pancakes, pink donuts, and a side of bacon. When the pancakes were brought over, I asked why a sparkler wasn’t included on ours. She incredulously asked, “You want to put it on now?” I replied that we would since it was my daughter’s birthday. (My daughter was looking defeated at this point.) Seeing how long and befuddled everyone who worked there seemed during the ordering process, I asked for the check and explained that we had a show we wanted to catch so it would be easiest to have the freedom to leave as soon as we had finished. The server could not understand why we wanted the check so soon. The food was tasty, looked amazing, as did the restaurant, but it didn’t even matter at that point. The experience was an overpriced nightmare and this restaurant is one that I would NEVER recommend to anyone else.

We came all the way from England for the pink winter wonderland and were so disappointed when it wasn’t there HOWEVER, the barmaid Jamie more than made up for it with her impeccable service. She is an absolute credit to your bar and made our experience so enjoyable. Thank you Jamie!

There are some Instagram worthy spots, if that’s your thing, but it’s not mine. Overpriced drinks were served by surly, unhappy bartenders that looked like they hated their jobs. My friend ordered several items for the table and I tried some of the shrimp taco, donut and cupcake. I didn’t care for any of it. Taco was bland, the cupcake was dried out with flavorless frosting. The donut was probably the best item.. but not exactly memorable. Eh..So many amazing spots in NYC to grab drinks.. I just don’t get the appeal of this place.

If I could give 0 I would have. We booked a brunch reservation weeks ago and were looking forward to it. Upon arrival the male host sat us at the back of the restaurant-past several empty tables and in the blazing sun/heat. I asked to be moved into the shade as my husband and boys burn easily and he said no-all the other tables are “reserved”. I said what about my reservation? He said he would be back. He came back 10 minutes later and told the server to tell us we had to sit there. He was unbelievable- so incredibly rude. I spoke to the female hostess and after 20 minutes and her texting her manager who was ignoring her she made the decision to move us. It is very obvious that they put a reserved sign on every single table and the male host decides where everyone sits. Very discriminatory as I saw that he would put families and older people at the back and the younger:singles in the best tables. I would discourage anyone and everyone from going to a restaurant that treats their patrons like that. That man should be fired.

Great atmosphere for pictures with a great view of empire State Building. Ambiance is very nice. Food is more appetizer like and needed more options but the tacos I did have were great.

I have lived in the city for 3 years and visited a few times. I can to Magic Hour last weekend with 3 friends. After a line my roommate and I got right in, but my other two friends were resent outside and had to wait in the line again. The music was a good mixture and I had fun dancing but will NEVER RETURN because I was charged over 50 for 2 gin and tonics. What's even worse, I looked at my bank statement and saw another $34 charge that occurred before the $55 one. The smaller rate was voided and then $55 taken out immediately after. I am a female in my late 20s, and feel taken advantage of and annoyed. I will be letting everyone I know about this incident. Thank you, next.

Absolutely avoid! The staff at the entrance are hateful and contemptuous. There are much better rooftops in NYC, with friendlier staff.

The Magic is that this rooftop space is above a crowded, congested area. Getting up to it can be a challenge. A labyrinth will take you to an elevator and you are on your way. Open for brunch on the weekend, the space can fill up quickly. Server was very attentive, food, drink and prices about what the area charges.

Over rated! Service was slow, I ordered a chicken salad with dressing on side, it came smothered in it. By the time it took to get domes attention it had gone cold. Pink pancakes tasted better than we expected, the three condiments were tasty but small portions for the ratio to pancakes.

We visited as a group of friends on our last night in New York and we all came away wishing we hadn’t. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the cocktails were weak and badly made and to top it all off we were hassled three times to leave the bar despite the fact we were still waiting for the bar staff to process our payment. The view is underwhelming (most of it is obscured by cheap plastic coverings) and it’s seriously overpriced. New York has so many nice rooftop bars to visit - don’t waste your time and money at this one.

My entire impression of Hotel Moxy was tainted by my visit to Magic Hour. The ‘bouncers’ at the front were obnoxious and rude - regardless of anything after that point I’d never return to a place where the staff made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. If you’re okay with that then by all means it’s a nice place, if you want to be treated and welcomed like a person then stay well clear - there are far nicer places in NYC.

This place was decorated in such a fun way, their rooftop seating is both warm but open and great views of the Empire State Building. There food and drinks were both spectacular. Make sure you make a reservation it’s helpful!

Came here for late night drinks and brunch! Excellent service from security, host, to the bar staff. Cocktails are innovative yet classic and the brunch menu items simply 'hit the spot'.

Being that this was a joint husband/wife birthday bash for my son and daughter-in-law (birthdays are two weeks apart), it surely met both of their needs for a majestic ambiance, great music, and little to no trouble at the door (a huge plus!!). Getting to the venue, it was sadly pouring rain outside! My son and DIL weren't sure if the rooftop would still hold up for all their guests. But when they got there, everything was covered and decor was all still in tact- from a revolving couch carousel, bushes in the shapes of animals doing funny poses, fun mirrors and Christmas lights all around to give it an enchanting feel! The girls had a blast taking tons of pictures left and right. After the music got going, there wasn't anyone sitting by the end of the night. They played a great mix of new and old-school music- all the greatest hits from past and present. Leading up to the event, they were in touch with Kayla who sent them awesome menus and eclectic options for our party, and set up our guest list of 20 at the door. Unfortunately, they were overcharged at the rooftop for a bottle that was $50 cheaper on the menu she e-mailed to them, which went unnoticed until they checked the charges when reaching their home. They contacted Kayla next day about this, in which she offered them $50 credit back toward their establishment (still waiting on it- that was July 20th weekend). I was in touch with Francis who basically handed off to Kayla (we need clones of Brendan McManus who was GM at Tao Downtown and now in Chicago who embodies excellence) The other downside is that even though one may spend $800 at a table collectively (not including their guests who spent even more from other table)--this does not guarantee you sparklers in your bottle or any special table treatment like the rest of the clubs in NYC do- which was quite disappointing since this was most likely the last time they would celebrate in this type of atmosphere. Apparently they did not spend enough for a sparkler, even after my daughter-in-law expressed her sadness to the hostess. It's basically like getting a birthday cake with no candles- quite deflating. Besides the the sparklers and overcharging, everything else about this establishment was great and would recommend others to come and experience the magic! They look forward to going back when the sun is out, and do some mini-golf they have on the rooftop as well.

Popped in here for one drink and left 4 hours later. The door staff were really welcoming, the same can’t be said for the rude lift guy, who basically ignored us and messed around on his phone. When we got up to the roof we weren’t sure whether to go left or right. The host explained the 2 sides to us. We decided to go left for the view, we got a table with a great view of the Empire State Building. The cocktails were yummy. We had a fab time. The bar staff were all really friendly and attentive. When we were ready to leave we went right and had a look in that room, which was like a flower installation, great fun. Would definitely return.

My husband and I went here when it opened at 4:00 on a Thursday evening for a predinner drink. No lines or charge to get in and lots of empty seats at the bar. Bartenders were very friendly talking to their customers. Would of stayed longer if it hadn’t of been so hot outside. Nice decor but no fabulous views. Would recommend reservations if you go any later than 5, as most tables had reserved on them already.

We went into Moxy and were told the Magic Hour Roof Top had 2 for 1 drinks at 4 PM. It was 3 PM, so the hostess directed us to the Moxy 2nd floor bar, where we spent $80. At 4 PM we went to the Magic Hour Roof Top and were treated very poorly and told that we couldn't participate in Happy Hour pricing because we weren't hotel guests. The manager said that they're two separate business and that he'd talk to the hotel employee that misinformed us. So if they're two separate businesses then why would it matter? We are currently at a restaurant/bar spending our money and being treated well. Poor choice on Magic Hour to turn away our business.

This was a great experience! Beautiful skyline on the rooftop. Fun and fabulous pictures. The staff were super friendly and the drinks were amazing!

You must visit this rooftop in your travel! It’s so good, the price it’s ok and the place is really amazing and beautiful

A very average experience at Magic Hour. We were hotel guests of The Moxy and one of the reasons I booked the hotel was because of this rooftop bar. The bar is expensive and the cocktails very average and not even served in proper glass glasses - not a great experience! The theme of pink runs throughout and even into the food. They had giant pink pancake stacks and a giant pink croissant for sharing. As it was Christmas they had a Photo Booth to pose in and we watched lots of people posing in it. The view of the Empire state is good but for this time of year the bar is all undercover anyway. The bar in the hotel (Bar Moxy) is much better without the view - go there instead!

The first and only time I went there was to meet my business partner for a drink and appetizers. My partner was already there on the rooftop waiting for me. I assumed I could just walk in and go upstairs. I was greeted at the gate and gave them my ID as requested after they questioned me why I was there. Walking through hallways with neon signs as if I was in a paint ball facility, I finally was greeted by the elevator man. When I got to the rooftop it was back to normal. The place was nice, I sat in the lounge area because there seemed to be a private party in the open area. Atmosphere was calm and music wasn’t too loud. I don’t remember what we ordered so it must have been good. I would definitely go back there again.

I went here because ai saw it on social media. It is interesting. The drink was good, the Caesar salad was average. The lettuce should have been crisper.

We usually go to NYC for New Years Eve and decided to try Moxy for a change. We had high expectations based on the ticket price and promotional material. We paid $225 plus taxes and fees each for open bar and hors d'oeuvres and were looking for a fun party to ring in the New Year. Overall the music was good, decor was fun. We mostly stayed on the outdoor rooftop area due to COVID paranoia didn't have any speakers or music. Our main disappointment was the drinks. No-name, bottle of the barrel tequila, vodka, etc was the only thing included. Basically very cheap well open bar liquor was offered. Premium liquor such as Ciroc or Grey Goose was regular price, $20 per drink. For $225 per ticket ($250 with taxes and fees) I would at minimum expect brand name liquor to be included. It seemed evident they wanted to charge a high price and offer the lowest quality drink available. I would have even settled for Smirnoff and Jose Cuervo but no-name was very disappointing. You can't charge a premium for basic. Other bars with comparable ticket prices for NYE (i.e. 230 fifth) offer premium open bar with Grey Goose and other top shelf liquors. When you pay a premium, you expect a premium. Don't be cheap next time, Moxy. Also, their hors d'oeuvres were like searching for chocolates laid out by the easter bunny. You had to go searching for them and they were hard to find.

We're staying in the Moxy so thought we'd give their rooftop bar a try. Big regret. It felt rude from the off, talk about ideas above their station, doorstaff were particularly agitated even at 6pm, this isn't some exclusive bar you are protecting at all costs. Bags have to go in a cloakroom, full metal detection before entry. This was night 1 of a 9 nine night stay at the Moxy and am now looking forward to giving the rooftop bar ZERO custom for the remainder of our stay. The hotel itself is awesome but this bar, not so much. I went to the restroom, as soon as I did my other half was told off by a security guard who appeared from nowhere, for taking photos of the cocktails - the irony is, her Canon DLSR camera is rubbish compared to the wannabe influencers taking photos on their iPhones. We were made to feel unwelcome and clearly not the right clientele despite paying £130 a night in the adjoining - awesome - hotel. Sort it out. Comping our burgers helped, granted, but even with that, we don't want to spend any more in this venue again.

Hard to enjoy when we were "freezing" We had reserved a table in advance and were sat near an open area and wow super cold breeze. We ordered an appetizer of veggies/chips/hummus-meh not tasteful, skull carrot cake-yum and purple donuts-yum. Watermelon shots-yum the other drinks we ordered-meh.

Attempted to go here for brunch. Difficult to find the entrance and then we had to wind around and around and stop to pass through several odd security and hostess stands and check a bag for no reason at all. Very few people at venue except for a couple of groups of women in sparkly attire taking lots of photos in front of a couple of cringey back drops. No real view and it was broiling hot. No cool place to sit and we were sweating buckets. Very limited food menu and very pricey. Service was slow and we left and found a nice (and much cooler) brunch elsewhere.

It’s a very attractive looking bar very close to Times Square. The shrimp tacos are to die for but the prices aren’t lol. It’s a great hang

We were excited to visit this bar as we were staying at the Moxy. The decor was pretty and interesting for the pink winter lodge edition. The service was appalling after we were greeted by the lady who informed us there were two bars to checkout. Being served by a robot would have been warmer! Firstly, we walked around and saw every table had a reserved sign displayed. When we found a table vacant with dirty glasses we sat down. Not long after a staffer walked by and dropped a reserve sign on the table. My husband went to the bar to ask if it was table service, when another staffer whisper to this staffer he was sitting at a reserved table. So we sat at the bar. My husband finished his drink and on four occasions, twice by the same bar person, they walked past his empty glass on the bar. Hence, no tip given. We decided to leave and went downstairs to Bar Moxy. We will not return to this rooftop bar and do not recommend wasting your time to experience such incompetent customer service. Also the cocktails are served in cheap plastic glasses!

Came here shortly after arriving in New York, popped in for drinks and to take in the views. Happened to be there during happy hour - which gave a selection of drinks at discounted (nice!) prices. Perfect start to our exploration of NYC

This establishment is truly a disgrace to New York City. Save your time. Save your money. Do not give this establishment another dime. The bouncers believe they are gods and attempt to charge $100 to each guy in line. Witnessed 2 bouncers attack someone for no reason and strangled him until he was unconscious. Classless, horrible place. If you are visiting NYC, there are hundreds of other respectful and honest bars.

"Awful hour" would be the right name of this rooftop bar because of the very bad service at the entrance. I'll never come back.

It' uncommon for me to write a review. But this time I really had to. Have been in the place with my wife. We have waited a very line a d really expected to see something different/unique/fun. After 5 security checkpoints (felt like in the airport) we finally got it. Guess what - they charged us $200 but we had no seat at all!!!! Terrible terrible place. Totally not recommended. Such places should better cease operation.

Where do I start!!!!!!!!! Why can’t we rate MINUS?! It’s certainly more accurate if we are to be honest! WORST PLACE in NYC!!!! My wife and I are in NYC for our anniversary and stumbled across Moxy Bar (part of the main hotel- NOT to be confused with its partner bars) where we received amazing service by all staff members we encountered, we asked about the MAGIC HOUR signposted within Moxy and was advised it was a cool rooftop bar/club with mini golf available also.... we finished up our drinks and headed straight for it! When we arrived the first set of doors we reach the host was nice but the bouncer wasn’t as nice but that didn’t worry us as we were excited to see what this bar was about. The cloakroom ladies (3 of them) were soooooo lovely and so welcoming, showing interest in where we came from and continued to politely guide us through.. so we both thought this is going to be a good place to catch a vibe. We reach the bar and take in the amazing views and the quirky features like the rotating seating....We head to the bar to order drinks, instantly my wife was given a rude reception by one of the 3 bar staff (arrogant female who should have been working the TOILETS) and then AGAIN by the man serving our drinks. I then had to go back downstairs to collect something from my coat and the top floor security detail was again rude to me when I simply asked how do I get back downstairs...!! Finally returning back to the bar my wife was taking pictures as it was starting to rain and I see one of the barmen take notice, turns to go out of his way to get to the bar lady, talk to her in the ear while looking at my wife and then her turning round as well and both laughing. We have been in NYC for a few days now and this is honestly the ONLY bar we have BOTH said that we would NEVER return to. The bar itself is beautiful but that means absolutely nothing because of the staff in the venue ... We ALSO work within events and whilst on a personal trip to the city we were looking at venues for a high profile event to be held close to the MOXY, Clearly will NOT be putting this venue on the list as we work for those who believe SERVICE means just as much as surroundings! VERDICT: Immature staff Miserable staff Judgmental staff Taking your business into the ground staff KEEP up the great work STAFF!!

Having seen this place all over Instagram prior to my visit to New York, I was excited to visit. The reality however was a little disappointing. Myself and my boyfriend visited on Thursday night at around 10.30. The door staff basically ignored us at first which was a little awkward - you're then led up to the bar past a couple of different host checkpoints, none of which were friendly or at all welcoming. When we walked out onto the roof it was overwhelming to say the least. Super busy, a crowd 6 people deep around the bar and no available tables. It's a much smaller space than I expected so it felt cramped and like you were constantly climbing over people to get anywhere. After finally managing to get served at the bar we paid around 40 dollars for a vodka & coke and a bottled beer - this came as a bit of a surprise! Views of the Empire State Building are kind of obstructed by plastic canopies, which seems a little odd to me as that's surely their biggest selling point. The overall decor and aesthetic is very Instagrammable, pink neon everywhere with a floral carousel that doubles up as a table which is pretty cool - though I imagine you'd have to make a reservation well in advance to land that table. This being said, I did think the place was a little dirty - lots of leftover food plates all over tables that wasn't collected during our visit, but then again it was busy so maybe that was why. DJ played some good music - think chart RnB/dance. Probably wouldn't return if I went back to NYC unless I was desperate to hang out at a rooftop bar and couldn't get in anywhere else... and if I was already drunk enough to enjoy it!

Didn't even make it here as staff are so difficult and unprofessional. Tried to book a birthday party here. The customer service director Nichole made things as difficult as possible, never phoned when she said, refused to answer questions I had and was just plain pretenscious. So I cancelled altogether and found somewhere else. With the negative reviews adding up, from fraud to rude behavior to sub par drinks, this place won't last if it doesn't have an attitude change. Completley appalled.

First disappointment this roof top is on the 5th floor only and the environment is not clear. View of the top of the Empire state building and that’s it. The reception is limited, the service (too) fast to make you consume. What about cocktails? Some are quite good, others served in a can (!) like Spritz .. Very minimalist plates to share, lobster rolls good but very small, all at EXHORBITANT prices. The setting is nice without more. We will not go back.

Reserved a table for 4 ahead of the date of my visit as we were told it gets busy. Minimum spend was $200 which considering it was a roof top bar with cocktails we didn't think would be too bad. The venue itself is quite quirky and has amusing statues, a revolving carousel of seating area and had a good vibe when we entered at around 9pm.. We were really disappointed at the quality and number of cocktails on the list. The staff wouldn't let us order just glasses of wine/prosecco or individual drinks of Vodka, it was expected you'd spend a min of $400 on a bottle! This dampened the mood a liitle. Maybe we should have researched ahead. Some of the cocktails that arrived were just vile and at around $18 each we were hard pushed to make up the minimum spend which the staff would not waiver. There were only 3 toilets which ended up in queues as they were unisex and no where near enough to cater for the size of the place. The vibe was good and the female dj played some classic tune s but then switched to some R&B tunes which changed the place in my opinion.

For a start, it looks nothing loke the pictures so don't get too excited. On our last night in NYC we thought we'd take advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktail offer that's on from 4-6pm. We ordered 2 drinks, my partner asked the bartender if he needed to see our room card. He said no, so we got the bill- we'd been charged for both drinks - a total of $37 which is insane for 2 mediocre cocktails served in plastic glasses. We questioned it and were told that he wasn't supposed to ask the guests and that if we wanted 2 for 1, we had to mention it and he'd 'make it happen'. What the hell?!! Appalling and shameful. We couldn't get up to the bar wuthout showing our room card, so we were obviously guests. He said sometimes guests make friends with non guests and take advantage of the offer. That is ridculous. No where does it say you have to mantion the offer to get it. Absolute rip off, avoid at all costs.

The bouncers are bit strict. Good thing, Adam (929 354 7877) helped us to get through. The drinks they’re serving are so awesome! Spinning tables, golf area, and the dance floor are just few reasons why I loved this place. Will definitely go out and dance all night again and again!

Went for 25th birthday celebration. Booked a month before arrival and needed wheelchair assessibility seating. The two doormen were pleasant and friendly as they escorted our party of five to the elevator. Elevator escort was also pleasant. Once on floor of Magic Hour the hostess was not inviting and had rude attutide. She walked us to our table which resembled a small low coffee table with chairs and a low couch which didn't make any sense to me; she left and then we waited and waited for our waitress. I had to get up and take our cake to the hostess and practically insist on having the the bday caketo refrigerated becaue the waitress 20 minutes to come to our coffee table. The waitress was not attentive -worse service. Little plates and drinks just okay. Music was okay but extremely loud. Nice decor for photos. Carousel was reserved so you could sit on it, Reserved for who because no one arrived the whole time we were there. Not worth the hassel..

You’re solely paying for ambiance and drinks. Food was mediocre, and not a lot of options. Dj didn’t really play a good variety. Staff was nice and tasty drinks that were not watered down.

Too many unfriendly staff….no service. We were recommended this place by our hotel - passport only accepted for UK visitors (who carries their passport with them) to get in from street level - only to arrive upstairs to be told to ‘find a space’ - all of which were reserved. Despite asking at all bars the only option to eat was standing up. So…..after 30mins of waiting/asking/being shown areas that weren’t available - we left. If I could give less than 1 I would - I have a policy of not leaving bad reviews because everyone has a bad day…..BUT this place is truly dire for the destination, the prices and the amount of staff available who could’ve fixed the problem.

A couple of fun twists to a rooftop bar, carousel seating was cool for a bit, the mini-golf was very underwhelming and a little pointless. Drinks expensive but no more so than other rooftops. Not worth going out of your way for.

Wow I have never been treated so badly anywhere I have travelled in the world. We stayed at the Moxy Hotel which is attached to this disgusting place and we paid good money to stay there. We tried to go up to look at the rooftop and have a drink on two occasions. The first time I called the front desk to check if there was a dress code they told me that during the day you could go up in anything. So at 4pm we approach this sleazy looking bouncer who said we couldn’t go up because we had sandals on so we continued with our day. The next afternoon again at 4pm the same muppet was on the door and this time we had proper shoes on. He told us we they would rather us not go up cause we weren’t dressed up to his liking. Yet a guy in front of us was allowed up in a black tshirt and cargo shorts. I pointed that out and he just keep making excuses why we couldn’t go up. It was humiliating and belittling. I was furious. How dare this thing who is nothing more than a bouncer treat people this way. He probably did us a favour because from what I heard from other who had been up there it was a total rip off and the food and drinks were no good anyway. I don’t know why the Marriott associate it’s self with such a horribly run business like the TAO group. Avoid at all costs. There are a million other great rooftops and bars to experience in New York that that people with respect

Came here for a Saturday lunch with my friends to celebrate a bachelorette party. Cute pink decor here and has an energetic vibe—there is a pink carousel you can sit on and take nice pictures! Food was decent—enjoyed the Chicken Tenders, Egg White Frittata, and Baby Gem Salad. We got The Big AF Croissant—super huge and looks cool but it’s dipped in blue candy melt—too sweet and it makes your mouth all blue, not worth the $60. They have some cute cocktails options but I opted for the Mojito which was okay.

Visited with my wife, upon entry the door staff and manager on the main door were very rude and it appeared we were a burden on interrupting their conversation. It’s not very welcoming as the entrance is roped off 3 ways so you have to get their attention, something that is difficult. They give you a UV stamp which is checked more times than you would care to count by several bouncers on the way in. This was 4pm and it wasn’t very busy, it was all a bit Fort Knox for no good reason. The bar itself isn’t anything wow and they have a carousel seating fixture which slowly turns. The seats on this are dirty but if your in the game for instagram I imagine it would float your boat. There is a mini golf setup which looks like it’s been chewed by a pack of wild dogs, it’s all very sub par!! Drinks are expensive for what they are and served in plastic glasses. I would advise you to go to other bars especially round Hell’s Kitchen which are much friendlier much more quirky and original and definitely better priced. For two drinks we paid £30ish and the views are mainly blocked by a plastic gazebo.

This establishment had a worker by the name of Gianna who was so incredibly vile and disrespectful. There was miscommunication around a booking and table, yet Gianna proceeded to verbally belittle and death stare my partner and I. Gianna was extremely hostile, and it was the worst hospitality experience I have ever experienced. Would not recommend. The management were great, offering us a complimentary drink, but it was not enough to sit in an establishment that made us feel belittled, and judged. As someone who is LGBTQIA+ and Bipoc it was traumatising. We will not recommend this place. So many other bars with lovely hosts in NYC.

I went there with my friends for my bday and we had a blast!! The staff was amazing, the bar tenders were amazing and they kept us in a private area of the place. I would Deff recommend this place if you want a good time and have drinks with a good view!!

We popped in for a nightcap to end our day, it’s a nice looking bar but not high enough to give you a good view over the city. We also found the selection of drinks to be pretty poor and they were served in plastic beakers which I don’t like at all, I guess they’ll say it’s health and safety but plastic beakers are for kids who can’t be trusted not to drop or knock over their glasses not for adults to enjoy an alcoholic drink. Everything considered I’d say this place is average at best and recommend you try somewhere else.

I was staying at the Moxy. A great centrally locates hotel. I took the elevator to the roof to find spectacular views, a putt putt golf course and an inviting atmosphere

They did a nice job with the decor and the outside roof top patio with mini golf. However there isn't much of a view due to the being off the edge. Drinks are ok and well you can spend up to the $10,000 for a drink for 4. Neat to see and well maybe at night more fun. If you are wanting a table call for reservations..

What a shame that this cute rooftop bar, with instagram photo ops everywhere, has the audacity to serve 'food' that a prison would reject. The drinks are good but pricey, and you are required to eat the dog food; you can't just drink. The food comes out right away-- a sign that it all sits on a pile in the kitchen; nothing cooked to order here. There are better rooftop bars in the city. Go there.

We really enjoyed our nite here , we went for the view of the city and thats what we got, found it a little over priced but it wouldn't stop me going again

We got there because it was recommended in a report but I guess this was a paid recommendation. When we arrived at around 11am there was a wie and it was promising they so many people wanted to get in at that early time. The staff at the entrance was already unfriendly and inexperienced and did not talk much. When arrived we were in a location with a lot of plastic deco and a covered roof. The furniture is cheap and dirty. Th staff then really was a disaster. We booked for three and got a table with two sets. A third one we had to organize ourselves. The waitress talked a minimum to us and although the huge place was only covered less tja halt it took ages to be served. There was no salt, pepper on the table so I ordered it for our eggs plus ketchup for the hash browns. We got pepper and two times ketchup. I ordered salt again and after a third sign for the salt we got a messy dirty years LS salt glass which we then had to hand over to. Another table. We ordered champagne and got a reasonable pro secco but without comment on the wrong drink. The breakfast we ordered had a max of 2 out of ten. The place is dirty and cheap the staff is unfriendly and incompetent and the drinks and meals are really not good. We paid 99$ for three breakfast, two coffee water and two Prosecco. On purpose I roped ONE Dollar. When we left we were shortly lost on the way out. When finding back to the right elevator there was a guy. At reception and I had to tell him that this was the worst experience I ever made in NYC. I moved on to the elevator when another couple follows us and the guy said: I fully agree with you. Then out of nothing the venue manager appeared and got mad on me because I have told his staff my opinion right into the face. Ok I said the right answer of him would have been to connect me with management but she did not Wandt to hear that. All in all it was the worst of the worst in NUC for me all time.

Very cute spot! Stopped here with some friends for a drink or two. Good views and the staff were friendly and got our Drinks to us quickly. Drinks were a perfect balance of not too strong and not too sugary. very social media-like! Lots of good photo ops.

We just paid 400 dollars for cocktails that were watery and poor quality. A 10% admin charge was added to our bill, whatever that means. The staff were rude and the service is poor. They took ages to process our payments as other staff were pressuring us to get out the door! They were literally pushing us towards the lift as we left. Not what you expect when you've paid a ridiculously large bill. I wont be returning or recommending. I suggest you avoid. The view is also heavily obscured by plexiglass panels. Overall, disappointingly awful, overrated and snobby. Shame.

Incredible view of the ESB, cocktails that pack a punch, revolving sofas and a chilled ambiance. What more could you want from an evening in NYC?

Great bar with views of the city, the entrance is really cool with all the different coloured lights, you take an elevator up to the top, the bar is small but they have a good selection of drinks, good amount of seated areas, the best ones do get reserved, especially the rotating seated area which was very cool!

I really liked the view and the interior. The drinks are delicious. On the "balcony" there is plenty of instagram spots. We've got a chance to talk to the staff a little bit - they are extremely nice. I don't know the ladies name but she was adorable.

There were too many drunk and obnoxious people when we were there. The bouncers were not friendly either. Tho the manager seemed nice and greeted us.

Moxy makes this sound like a hotel amenity!! Right in the Bonvoy Page and even in the room. It’s anything but. It’s a local millennial hangout with pretty much reserved tables only. The staff are RUDE with the exception of one manager type who apologized and seated us, as long as “we didn’t plan to stay long”. Seriously?? Two stars is being extremely kind because of her. The other hostesses should be fired. Totally unfriendly to Marriott Moxy guests.

Stayed at the Moxy so got in free, I liked it but was staying over a night on a business trip. Very cool place but took me 20 minutes to get an $11 beer, took it out on the deck to take in the fabulous view, the mini golf would have been good but it was 40 degrees. Looked more upscale than I was looking for.

I love this place amazing atmosphere and amazing music and what a beautiful place to go for evening drinks in New York. Dance your way through the night and you can also get an amazing view of NY from the roof. Great place for a party!

Me and 3 friends was at the Magic Hour rooftop bar for New Year’s Eve 2017, included within our ticket was 5 hour open bar. I was worried that it was be a nightmare to get a drink due to being busy but there was a lot of staff on so it didn’t take long which is a massive bonus! I do have two moans though. By 9:50pm the cloakroom was full which considering it was New York in winter seems a bit short sighted as everyone would have a coat? And the second but BIGGEST moan is the toilets. There was 2 toilets (unisex) meaning that it took 50 minutes (yes really) to go for a wee. The toilets were massive so could easily be turned into at least 2 more cubicles. For an establishment like this I was so surprised they would have such a bad system for toilets, but that’s all I can complain about and it was good apart from loosing half the party to the toilet queue! Come on magic hour, it’s 2017 indoor plumbing is no longer a luxury for the few! If you’re thinking of going here I would recommend!

I made a reservation in advance and I was honestly concerned about my stay because I had read a few negative reviews. When I called to inquire further to either confirm my fears or change my outlook, Francisco assisted undoubtedly. He was so polite, patient, and extremely helpful with all of my questions. He genuinely sounded happy and excited about sharing the features and highlights of the hotel. I would say if it wasn't for Francisco's positive and insightful nature, I probably would have cancelled my reservation. I feel confident in saying my boyfriend and I will enjoy his birthday and have a great stay at Midtown Moxy hotel. Thank you Francisco!!

My husband and I love Magic Hour, but we love the Bartender Isaiah more! he is friendly, personable, and a KNOWLEDGEABLE Mixologist! Isaiah makes a fun place even MORE FUN!

Food was good service wasn’t. I took my daughter here for her 22nd birthday (booked on open table with message for birthday) and they didn’t even say anything. Felt ignored and not even acknowledged. Not even happy birthday. I mean how about some cotton candy at least. Drinks are expensive. The mood was just meh. Will not be going back here. Taps was 100% better and gave her a shot to celebrate and food was better.

Despite the bad reviews I gave this place a go, it’s appealing to the eye and drinks were nice. Fun atmosphere. Waiters were happy to help. There was no entry fee for me and my boyfriend and no minimum spend for table but we came on a quiet weekday.

Too busy, definitely not covid safe. Not enough seating areas. Moxy claims to be affiliated but no advantageous treatment for guests. Described at “lit” but for us the only thing getting lit was going to be our lateral flows. Go elsewhere.

Nice place, nice service, welcoming until the moment we started paying €150,- for 6 cocktails is not cheap. Have given €2.00 tip. Apparently they didn't think that was enough. Not worthy of a look after that. Very strange that you make your mood depend on a tip. So no longer worth repeating. A shame because quite a nice place.

Went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Good food and great vibes! The rooftop space is fun and cozy.

I attended Magic Hour at Moxy Time Square with a friend of mine on Sunday August 4th, 2019, as two visitors from Canada. My friend and I met a man at the bar and we all sat down at a table together. The server, #4027 Adriana, stated that a credit card must be held in order to order drinks. I offered my credit card and we all ordered beverages. After some time, my friend and I went to the bathroom. Upon our return, the man and waitress were no where to be seen. We looked everywhere and found the man smoking on the balcony and he stated that he paid the bill and we didn't need to worry. I immediately went to the bar and asked for the waitress to be called to the front. I asked the waitress for my credit card and she said that she gave it to the man! I was absolutely appalled and shocked by her complete negligence and incompetency. I told her she is legally not allowed to give another person my credit card and that we just met the man at the bar that night! My friend then found the man, and he eventually gave back my credit card and then quickly left the building. I asked the waitress to see the bill. She showed me the receipt that the man signed! I told her this was fraud, he signed his signature on my credit card bill! He is not the cardholder and he also didn't sign the merchant copy, yet she still accepted this. The waitress did not seem to care and told me she thought "the man was with us" and said that her "shift was over." Of course I stated that this was unacceptable and illegal. Upon further looking at the copy he signed, I also noted that she charged us for an ice tea that neither of us ordered, and the bill was wrong. The total as $59.88. She then charged a new bill for $55.88, taking out the ice tea. At this point I was so scared, shocked, and upset that the waitress gave a stranger my credit card which he had for at least 20 minutes, my friend and I left the restaurant, literally ran back to our hotel and immediately cancelled my credit card. Needless to this, this ruined our entire trip. I cannot believe a waitress would give someone's credit card to a stranger, have him sign the wrong receipt, and still accept this as appropriate behaviour. She did not bring me a manger to speak to and then continued to answer a personal call and walked away from me. I called Magic Hour 3 times the following day (and our final day in NYC) and was left on hold and did get hold of a manager. I am still awaiting back from Moxy Hotel and Magic Hour to determine how they will address this matter. I worked as a waitress for 5 years as a University student before entering the corporate sector and I know that giving a credit card to a non card holder is illegal and absolutely outrageous. I travel a lot to NYC for business with my corporation and for leisure with family and friends. They can be sure that they have lost all of their customers coming from Ontario, Canada! Do not go to this rooftop bar as this credit card fraud can happen to you!

Overrated to be honest. I had seen this place all over SoMe but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. We booked, so got in relatively quickly. To be honest, the drinks were very expensive and mediocre and people were queueing just to get an average photo on the stairs. It sort of gave a young vibe with old people... However, the service and staff were amazing.

From the photos in social media, I expected a larger rooftop space. Though the food was good for bar food, the cocktails were average. The service was not at all attentive, we had to ask for napkins, and they closed out the bill without asking if we wanted anything else (after 1 drink each and two food items). My daughter and her boyfriend came with me, and they were of the same opinion. Would not recommend this as a place to go.

We had a ridiculous situation last Sunday 09-02 - at sunday bubbles party in Magic Hour. We entered in Magic Hour, but the attendant stamped us the entrance for the bar instead the party. We informed the security guard, who advised us to go down and request to change the stamp. When we requested the women hostess (who replaced the previous host) for the change, she simply pulled us out of the place, told us to go back to the queue and that this time we would have to pay $ 100 each for the entrance - which would be free. Everything happened to us even though we were guests from moxy nyc, which hosts the party. *On another day we were very well attended by the host. But the assistance of this hostess was completely shameful!

As two 21 year olds this hotel seemed perfect! The room as okay, location great but the staff...my god! Reception staff half and half, but avoid the ‘magic bar’ at ALL COSTS!! It’s pretty but avoid if you want to feel good about yourself in any way! Prepared to be looked up and down, laughed at and then ignored! As for Bar Moxy we ordered a drink showed ID to find the guy physically laughing to then bring us non alcoholic drinks exclaiming that we were 18... er? After showing again he didn’t even apologise and asked for the 18 DOLLARS FOR ONE CRAP COCKTAIL. Avoided after that. If you’re not rich don’t come here you will be judged and made to feel foolish. Yikes!!!

Went for the holiday overlay in December and it was...fine. Probably would have been a more pleasant experience without being seated right next to the bar where there was what seemed to be an office Christmas party taking place, but what can you do. Drinks and food were decent but nothing to write home about. A bit of a weird experience when we first arrived. After checking in with our reservation downstairs, the greeter upstairs just told us that there was a bar on either side and have at it. After a quick walk through we decided to leave since it was loud and crowded. On the way out I heard the greeter ask another guest if they had a reservation, so I was like "Um...we have a reservation too". After a weird look and a couple of minutes, lo and behold we had a table. Communication could be better.

Not that friendly, coctails aperol spritz was in a plastic cup for 2 ,price 45$....Cameras not allowed ,why I don't know ,nothing to see...Not a good view at all.Much bling bling, not worth the price and time I think.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Truly a terrible experience. My friend made a reservation for all of us (writing this review with her permission). She is the only POC in the group (relevant for later) and the reservation was under her name. We all had had a few drinks but nothing crazy. The hostess (a blonde lady with curly hair) singled my friend out and said she specifically of the group was too drunk to be let in. This was ridiculous as none of us were drinking enough to be that drunk and they singled her out specifically when we all were acting the same- something we immediately took note of. When we asked the hostess what specifically about her behavior made her seem drunk the hostess could not give a single reason. It was such blatant racism and we all knew it. She said if we returned in 30 minutes, we may be able to enter (we already didn't plan on spending any money at this horrid place but wanted to support my friend that wanted to at least get in to prove a point). My friend was understandably upset and we tried having a reasonable, calm conversation with the bouncer (big bald guy) and he was so unprofessional and rude, and also made racist comments. He said that I was being aggressive because I was leaning against the railing to speak to him because I couldn't hear him through his mask. He also told my boyfriend (which has a jewish last name) to "fix his nose or he would fix it for him". This place is disgusting and I would never spend my money here or support this institution!!!

Went tonite as a birthday treat for my wife, chaotic start booked 830 told we'd be an hour late for a table, no worries got seated at the bar, had 2 fantastic cocktails each, then seated at a table for great sliders and fries, very indifferent pink donuts and a sprinkle filled chocolate cake. Took photos on the carousel and pink corner, decor and music great. Service after the initial entry was fine, verbally with 4 cocktails each and all the above spend $250. Am I pleased we went, yes, would I go again, at that price a big No.

I am being discriminating against due to a disability and I am being denied entry cause of my service animal. It is against federal law. Not even city or state can ask me for documentation. The doorman outside just told my family and I to go “f*** myself” and that I was the reason why they couldn’t go in. I am so embarrassed and cannot believe this is happening to me. Will someone be in contact with me?

Very overrated. We were expecting an elaborate display of pink and white Christmas decor but the website and advertising is very deceiving. The space is small, worn out and the decor was not as nice as the website shows. That said the drinks and the staff were great. It was just a letdown considering we booked it for the decorations and space.

Sorry, but not worth the time! Some food items and the view were nice. It took FOREVER to get anything we asked for.

Spent our wedding anniversary here. The decor is gorgeous. The service is very friendly. The food was delicious. It is small portions but that suited us. New York is expensive for wine and this venue is no more expensive than anywhere else. But we decided to splash out for our anniversary and enjoy every second.

It's a bar on the top of the Moxy hotel and with a great view of the Empire State Building. Their drink selection is decent and it's a good place to enjoy a drink

First time here, had the check it out. Visit was average at best, bar tender was a little rude but sure if she was just having a bad night but don’t take it out on your customers. No need to go back

My boyfriend and I were in New York for the first time and I had researched cool rooftop bars to go too and this place popped up! It looked really funky with cool decor which is right up my street. However, when we went it did not look how it looks in the pictures! It looked dated, old, a bit scruffy and needed some TLC. We were also completely ignored, probably because we look quite young and "normal" and I get the impression they put wealthy looking people before anyone. We ended up leaving and not even having a drink because I really couldn't be bothered due to the way I felt in there. Wouldn't recommend to others!

Had brunch here with my girlfriend. Everyone was so nice from the door guy to the bussers. The food and cocktails were excellent. Highly recommend the Pink Pancakes! I was happy they accommodated our reservation even though we were 30 minutes late. The ambiance and service were 10/10🙂

Excellent view this is a must booked bar as you get the best views if you do cocktails we’re good they server food is well helpful staff

This place truly is magical! Between the vibes, all the fun photo opps, and the super pleasant staff, it is definitely an amazing spot that I will be revisiting! Especially for girls night out - I went with my 7 girlfriends this past Weds! There are so many things to looks at as you walk through the venue, it’s all about the details (you can get a sneak peak on the website). We had an amazing night for so many reasons! Rich, the DJ, accentuated the energetic ambiance with some fun dancey throwback remixes during happy hour. The hostess, Olga, was highly accommodating, making sure me and my friends had a really nice table with a good view and put us in a quieter area when we requested so we could talk (some areas were lively and others you had more space to yourself so it’s great for either vibe!). And I do want to take the time to comment about our server, Ariella. She was AMAZING! She was on top of all of our drink orders the whole night, constantly checking in with us to see if we needed anything, super sweet and laughing and smiling with us the whole time. She even happily took some amazing fun photos of us in front of the Empire State Building. She quickly became an integral part of our girls night out haha. As awesome as this place is on its own, it goes a long way when the staff contributes to the fun experience and making sure everything is perfect. Special thank you from us to Ariella! 💜 We had a BLAST and will come back to visit soon!!😁

We came for a drink, super welcome and secure with security guard at the entrance. We enjoyed the photobooth that left us with an incredible memory. The view is beautiful!

Omg, this place is amazing. We received excellent customer service. The meal was great. Beautiful and peaceful environment The employees were friendly. I will surely be re visiting.

We saw the pics online and thought this would be a great place to grab a bite and a drink after our event at bravocon on Saturday night. We waited in line and were eventually told we’d have to spend a minimum of $100 plus tip and tax. We verified that they served food as it was late and we were hungry and not wanting to drink any more without eating. They took my credit card and drivers license and took us through a maze like area up to the bar area. We were taken to an area where there were hardly any people at all. The bar was dingy and dark, nothing like the picture online at all. We went to order our food and a drink and were told they no longer served food !! We were shocked, that was the only reason we decided to enter for the price. The bartender said it was too late for a refund. We took a drink and looked for a different area of the bar. We found a different part of the bar with a few more people but left after being there for 30 mins and a $130 bill. Horribly disappointed and felt taken advantage of. Not responsible of the workers at all. This was a lot of money for 1 drink which we didn’t even finish as we were sketched out in the strange atmosphere of the night. I hope they look into changing their ways.

Get your act together. We had a Sunday Brunch reservation at 11:30. It opens at 11:30. We weren’t allowed in until noon because the receptionist didn’t show up for work. Seriously? Cross train your employees! Breakfast was Okay. The waitress was very nice. I wouldn’t bother to go back.

A rooftop bar was ath the top of our todo list this girls trip to NYC. The tour bus recommended this particular establishment. We had to wait in line to get in. Once inside it was very cool how they built our suspense to get there going thru another check point before taking the elevaator up. Staff was nice and professional, the place was clean and well maintained. Once upstairs it was pretty empty (why did we wait in line so long???). All the tables were "reserved" we presumed for bottle service which wasnt on our itinerary. We eventually found the "low rent" side which consisted of an odd mini golf course with hot pink animal erotica. It was unusual to say the least. I will say the view was gorgeous. Drinks were expensive but tasted good. It suerved the purpose of going to a roof top bar but i think on a return visit i would try another place first. Oh and we saw people of all ages there- not just 21 year olds.

Such a cool spot with a nice view of the Empire State Building as a backdrop. Drinks are expensive, but it's New York, so that's a given. Make a reservation as it secures seating.

Great tunes very trendy with amazing views of the city. Part of the Moxy Hotel. Huge selection of high end spirits and cocktails.

Few opportunities for pics but overall drinks sub standard, poor service, plastic glasses, say no more....much better options than this place in the city

Bad service, we ordered a drink and a manager decided that we cannot sit and this table, so they kicked us out. Why we were able to order a drink then? My birthday spent well, but not here!!!

Considering the focus in most bars and restaurants in New York is customer service/experience, this place is an outlier. Completely unsure as to why non-US citizens need to show their passport (or a photo of it) to gain entry. Who carries their passport around with them in a major city? The hostesses gave off significant "Mean Girl" judgey vibes and weren't particularly welcoming. Service wasn't particularly great. Generally the place comes across as seriously pretentious and there are far better bars to chose from.

Its absolutely fantastic i love the carousel and the cocktails, the view is nice too ahead of empire building there is two parts the one is more lounge bar and the other side is more for dancing or for parties. Idk about the food since i haven't try yet. Definitely i will join again during the day.

Stopped in here on my birthday with two friends. It's a cool concept and theme - different from other places I've been around Manhattan. It's a rooftop so the views are great, the location is convenient, and the apps we tried were good. Drinks are average and super overpriced, and while I appreciate the circus theme, I think it can be executed in a way that's a bit more grand. The entrance was cooler than the actual bar decor. Still worth stopping in for a bit (I wouldn't spend a good part of my day here unless I wanted to throw away all my money) but I would return, especially in warmer months.

We booked for brunch well in advance for Sat May 14 at 11.45 am. Got there at 11.40, and the hostesses informed us rudely that they will not let us in until the security guy arrives. Which took 5 minutes. My tolerance for uncalled for rude behavior is zero these days, and that did not start off well. Similar surly behavior all throughout as if they were doing us a favor! In fact, when 2 people smiled we were grateful. Food is average, drinks are okay. Atmosphere is very good. But lack of service is appalling and not worth the visit for anyone! In fact my husband was taking a break in between bites and three times they ask if he finished eating , as if they want us to leave as quickly as possible! For sure never going back there

Very cool place The service was quick and attentive The drinks were good and reasonable The view is amazing and this time of the year at night the Empire State is literally glowing

This bar was part of our hotel and we really enjoyed watching the world go by and the views of the Empire State Building. Cocktails were very expensive but at least you’re paying for a good view. The themed decor for Halloween was fantastic and the bar had a fun atmosphere

Nothing i could really put my finger on that was bad i just felt there was no wow there. Service was ok and drinks ok just expected a lot more.

Drinks are good. The service is kind of slow and the food isn’t that great. Pricey. It is also hard to find. If you are in the area, it might be worth it, but it isn’t worth it to go out of the way.
Drinks and Bar Food
It was a nice place to take friends to because of the ambiance! The waiter and receptionist were beyond friendly and helpful but the dishes to eat were so awful! We ordered almost all the appetizers with disappointing results! We were looking forward to the Lobster Rolls which were nothing to talk about! The Korean Chicken wings were tasty and and the boozy cupcakes did not disappoint!
