Good Asian restaurant with good value for money

By Vins |

We stopped by chance to eat at this restaurant on 6th. No frills and spartan setting but great food, satisfying portions, friendly staff and a great price considering NYC averages. Plus open late into the evening, which is not always common after 9pm.

Disappointing

By luffie |

We went here on Christmas Day evening to order takeout. The restaurant was busy, but not overly so. Staff were friendly although service wasn't great; part of our order were ribs which had to be cooked from fresh apparently and would take 30mins. We were fine with that and went for a walk but when we came back after 30 mins, it was another 15mins until we actually got our order. The ribs weren't great, neither was the sausage fried rice. The chicken lo mein was tasty but incredibly oily. It all cost us just over $40. We wouldn't go again.

Good for take out

By m070552 |

We ordered take out from Main Noodle House while visiting with the family. While I can’t compare to other NYC Chinese take out, we both agreed that this was the best we’d ever had. Quickly ordered online and the food was ready quickly. Definitely recommend if you need something fast and tasty!

Great potion size

By Maddison S |

I had the vegetable pad thai, which was enough for two people, and a vegetable spring roll, both very yummy! My boyfriend had the duck pancakes, which he also enjoyed. It was very reasonably priced too. Wide menu variety.

Lovely food - do not be put off by the tired setting.

By Wellie50 |

Lovely food - do not be put off by the tired setting. The portion sizes are big & the cost is good value for money. Would visit again.

Wow - you’ve got to visit

By craice |

My son and I went here for dinner after reading the reviews on trip advisor. Not the poshest Resturant you’ll visit but the food is great, and potions are huge. We weren’t sure just how big they’d be so ordered a dish each. When they arrived I was just glad that we were both really hungry. The food both tasted and looked great. Please go there, don’t be put off by the look of the place it’s well worth a visit and really well priced.

Perfect Vegetable Noodle soup

By DedoCL |

I ordered a vegetable noodle soup. I ordered egg noodle. No tofu. It was perfect. The vegetables were crispy. The noodle were in the perfect point of cooking. Big size. Just the perfect noodle soup

Decent Chinese food in midtown

By Lawrence F |

Stayed at a nearby hotel and my daughter noticed this restaurant on a walk outside to catch a cab. We came back for a quick dinner after sightseeing and we were not disappointed. Solid food in a no frills atmosphere. I would return on a subsequent visit to NYC.

A small restaurant with a great menu

By Barbara O |

We were tired and hungry when we checked into our hotel and somebody recommended a nearby "hole in the wall" with good Chinese cuisine. We were fortunate to find a table. This place seems to be very popular for eat in and take out. Service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and there was so much that I took some of mine back to the hotel and enjoyed it for lunch a few days later,

Efficient and friendly

By singinggigi |

It was snowing outside and I wanted a hot bowl of noodles. I came with my husband and ordered one bowl of beef brisket noodles, one beef chow mein and an order of potstickers. Portion was big and we didn’t finish. Beef brisket noodles seem to be a popular choice that night for a lot of diners. The noodles were hot and tasty. Potstickers were pan fried. We didn’t finish the chow mein and brought the remainder back to hotel. Service was efficient and friendly. Price performance was good.

A delight

By lista1112 |

This restaurant is a gem in NY, small family restaurant, yes noisy and very simple decor but the food is so good. This was my 3rd visit and never disappointed, where in NY can you eat for two: 2 Wonton soups, 1 chicken low mein, 1 Singapore Mei fun (containing nice big shrimp) all that for $43 us and I'm left with the leftovers because the portions were huge. Simple and delicious restaurant not to be missed

Break for American food?

By Den M |

I highly recommend this place for Asian food. Close to empire state, the service is nice, we ate a pad Thai and Singapore noodles. The price was too high but the quantity is impressive. I recommend if you want to have a break with burger.

Very good!!

By Mandi B |

This was just down the street from our hotel. So good! I had the beef and broccoli. Sauce was great! Broccoli was very good! It is small and you will be near your fellow patrons. I was very pleased with our dinner!

Fantastic Asian food in New York

By Marieke B |

Never tasted Asian food so good, outside Asia. Had two meals with my family during our New York coty trip. First I had the pad Thai, the sweet ans sour chicken second time. Big portions and great flavours. Really recommend it, of you visit New York.

Quality

By Andy D |

Visited on a Sunday early evening and although only a small place they will turnover many patrons. Great service good food and cheap price for a family of 4. Don’t need to order a meal each as portions are big enough to share.

I often go alone, but when I can gather up a crew, we can orders tons of dishes! It's fantastic.

By Steven M |

Safe to say that the competition for Chinese restaurants in New York is like nowhere else. From classic Cantonese to Szechan, Noodle houses, Hot Pots, soup dumplings, Dim Sum, and fusion... the choices are endless... and that's on almost every block!!! Born and raised and lifelong NY'er (Manhattan), I can claim to have eaten Chinese food in the city approximately 6,000 times! Amidst the frenzy of mid-town/Herald Sq sits a small, unassuming restaurant called Main Noodle House. Considering the location, I assume that tourists go back home and tell their family and friends that they had the best Chinese Food they've ever had! If you want classic, extraordinary Cantonese food... it's the best. Eggs rolls: fantastic. Noodle soups: a great meal if dining solo. Egg foo Yung: extraordinary. Yes, they have Pad Thai and shredded chicken over noodles/peanut sauce... and on and on. Prices very reasonable considering midtown. And the staff is wonderful and accommodating. Stop Googling "chinese near me" and just go to Main Noodle House on 6th Ave between 37th and 38th! Enjoy!!! Steve M

Amazing noodle restaurant

By Stewart F |

Tried out Main Noodle House based on previous reviews and for sure it was a great choice. Servers were welcoming and attentive to our every need. The beef stew noodle soup was super tasty, full of flavour. Pork dumplings were just gorgeous. Slices of oranges given at the end of your meal to cleanse the palate, and fortune cookies as a parting gift. Great value. This place is amazing.

Lunchtime Chinese

By Tash C |

The service was fantastic, very well priced food and it was delicious. Friendly staff. Made for the perfect, filling lunch. A most-go.

Outstanding Very reasonable Large portions Tasty, traditional Highly recommended General chou chicken Lamb with scallions

Fast, friendly, delicious.

By kqedan |

I was walking looking for a spot to eat and happened to see main noodle, I walked in and i was in for a treat! The friendliest people you could ever meet. The service was fast, food was delicious. Loved every bit of it.

Good Simple Chinese

By Sal_Paradise767 |

This is the kind of Chinese I grew up on and am always happy to enjoy again in New York. They have a huge menu and bigger portions for prices that'll make you think you've left New York. They also do delivery and carry out and while they done have liquor they do have beer and wine. Obviously the dining room is no frills but this not why you're coming here.

Trip around the world

Celebrating birthday weekend in nyc going to different restaurants and stopped at Asian delish dishes great serve clean fresh food

Okay for quick lunch

By James S |

Bright, no atmosphere and quick huddle bustle service. Nothing much to remember good or bad. I had a shrimp noodle soup. Good. Prices are fine, food arrives quickly and is okay.

Excellent Chinese

By Sightsee536519 |

Fresh, fast & delicious. Great service too. Looks like a dive from the outside but worth a visit. Large portions.

Hidden Gem

By McMarciJ |

Can I first say this was not only the least expensive meal we had in NYC but also the best?! Seriously, I am sick of dropping $80+ for a simple meal (2 adults/2 kids) and leaving hungry. I could barely eat my giant bowl of beef stew noodles - but I did because it was amazing! My husband had sweet & sour chicken, also fantastic & my very picky kids enjoyed the chicken lo mein & edamame. The staff was also extremely kind. My daughter spilled her water & they did not make me feel like a scum bag. I went to the restroom and found it occupied, and in a few moments the waitress came over to let me know it had been vacated. I mean, really nice ladies.... Yes, this is a small place that could easily be overlooked, but there is a reason every table was occupied. I highly recommend giving Main Noodle House a try.

My “go to” Chinese takeout

By kkamikawa |

I found this restaurant because of its location to my hotel. It’s not fancy but every time I go, the tables are full with customers. I typically come here for takeout. The wonton noodle with roasted pork never lets me down. I also order the scallion pancakes and the pork dumplings. Reasonbly priced and fast service.

Delicious food

By CYL_12 |

The service was great the food was hot, fast, fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food

By Alissa O |

The food was amazing, the portions were huge and the price can't be beat. Highly recommend visiting when in NYC. Orders were taken and food was delivered by staff, but then you won't see or hear from them again. We didn't need anything further so not a big deal as the food was more important in our minds than an overly friendly staff. If you want good food and don't care about the staff this place is a must!

Fast foood

By Discerning travel |

Wow! We were in and out in 29 minutes. Great food- comes very quickly, all really tasty. The ribs were especially good, and the soup was hot.

The Best, great food and great service

By TShields645 |

Main noodle house (referred to by my friends and I as Big Bowl) has great food, loads of flavor and great service. The wonton soup is great year round and especially on cold winter days. The 12 noon rush can make it hard to get a table during the lunch time rush, but other then that, the place is always quick to get a seat and enjoy an amazing meal in the heart of the city. Highly recommend and I take all my friends from out of town here when they come.

Great Food and Location!!!

By Tameka M |

This place was right on time. Me and my son love chicken and broccoli. I got one order and the portion was so big we both had two servings. It's right around the corner from Macy's. I ordered it to go and it was made quick and fresh. Prices are great and reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent fiod

By 6rhinos |

Came in for hot tea and left after eating a great late afternoon meal. Food was hot and large portions.

A gem on 6th Avenue- Dim Sum, Noodle soups, scallion pancake Delish!

By Ellen S |

Wow- impressed with Shrimp stuffed steamed dumplings, a perfect Scallion Pancake and their steaming Noodle Soup. Tired after an 8 hour seminar this place was an oasis of generous food with good prices. The lunch menu ranges around $8.95 with soup 🍜 too. First you’re brought a hot kettle of wonderful soothing tea 🍵- try one of many appetizers to start like the steamed or fried dumplings. Never had dumplings 🥟 so full of tasty fresh shrimp 🍤. Great! Between 37&38th on 6th Ave.

Good Central Location

By Carol B |

Found this place while walking from Penn Station over to Grand Central Station. The tables are close together as in many places in Manhattan but the food is good, the service pleasant and it won't break the bank.

Yum

By LouB1973 |

Fabulous dumplings, fantastic teriyaki salmon and the noodle soup was amazing! Definitely worth the hike to find the restaurant!

Absolutely Delicius!!!

small but nice place, the food is great as well the service, after been tired for museum visit we look a restaurant for dinner, found this place and enjoyed, specially the courtesy te

Food pretty reasonable, but...

By rchalto |

To get the good said first: - the food was reasonable in quality and toast. - portion sizes were fairly large, but not the biggest I have seen in Chinese restaurants, so no complaints their either. - the prices of dishes are already decent value, especially for New York. The negatives, that pulled the rating down: - we were told we could not order two portions of rice, as that would be too much for us. I was a bit taken a back by this insistence, but went with the flow. I think about 1.5 portions for the two of us would be spot on. - service was efficient, but abrupt at times. - taking above into account we decided to leave a 10% tip. I appreciate this is low by US standards, but reasonable in my opinion, as the service was not warm or inviting. What came next amazed me - the member of staff started shouting at us telling us we must pay 15% tip and demanded another 3 dollars. I asked to see the bill again, wondering if I was mistaken and had underpaid. No I hadn't, but in the small place she kept shouting and making a spectacle of things. I picked up the menu to check there was no compulsory service charge listed... There was not. At this point she stopped shouting for a larger tip. We got up and left. At no point dud we raise our voices back at the lady. A really bizarre way to treat customers, even if it is customerary for Americans to tip more generously. I tip higher if service is excellent, but not out of compulsion, unless a mandatory service charge stated in advance.

Sumptuous noodles

By M6W5ir |

Staff were very accommodating, service was very good and quick. My husband said these noodles are the best food we have here in NY 😂 For me this bring back the memories of Beef noodles in Taiwan (last time visit was 2009)

Mm mm!!

By Josh D |

A lot of people tell me I’m very positive and my TripAdvisor reviews are always positive!! I would say I am positive but the weird thing is I love dark movies about psychopaths and I listen to The Weeknd at least once every few hours!! I was listening to star boy and he talks about his main lady being out of us non a listers league and his side lady too!! I happen to have a main noodle soup place and a bunch of side noodle soup places but my main noodle soup place is all the way in Philadelphia!! I went here tonight since it is a side place I’ve never been too!! I actually got salt and pepper chicken because I didn’t want to turn into the human torch since it was so hot today and noodle soup would only raise my temperature!! It was very good as all Asian food is!!

Quite good

By Keith J |

Very good standard Chinese food, takeout order filled fast, everything was very tasty and there was a lot of it. Probably the most cost effective meal I had in the city!

Good find near our hotel!

By Honor H |

We were looking for a good dinner near our hotel on the way back. Absolutely delicious Chinese. Hot, fresh and fast. We took advice from other reviews and had the lo mein and bbq roast pork appetizer. Good choice!

Rude staff bland food

By Tim P |

No flavor and staff was rude. Also they got my order wrong. Ordered beef and got chicken. No flavor at all. Not good. Do not go there.

Great food at a great price

By Alan |

I ordered Wonton Soup with Roast Duck (9.50) and Roast Pork Chow Fun (11.50). The food was delicious and would have easily fed 2 people. The duck was a little disappointing as there was more bone than meat, but what should I expect for under $10? I ate dinner at about 5:30 and there was a steady flow of people eating in and taking out. This place is way better than all of the steam table food places in this neighborhood.

Solid Chinese Food

By LnS2004 |

When picking up our take out order from this restaurant located close to out hotel, I noticed its interior was clean and bright, and the wait staff all wore masks. The takeout food was well-packaged. The noodles, this being a noodle house (although they have a standard Chinese menu with wide selections of other dishes), were authentic and tasty; I especially loved #71 Beef chow fun with green pepper and gravy. This Cantonese classic came with generous portions of tenderized beef and flat flavorful rice noodles. The other order, #68 Pan fried noodles with chicken and bokchoy came with sauce, protein and vegetable packed separately to preserve the crispiness of the noodles. The side of green: #78 Sautéed spinach with fresh garlic was spot on, rounding out a sumptuous dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality of the food. And prices were quite reasonable.

Good for cheap eats in an expensive neighborhood

By joyceheard |

Healthy portions of Chinese standards at low prices make this simple place a good choice. Could be cleaner but the service is quick and efficient. We ordered a seafood dish and Chinese broccoli and both were tasty and included a portion of rice.

Simple and good food, with great/fast service

By Fernando S |

Popped in for a quick lunch..... Had soup and fried rice. Simple, but very tasty. Service was fast and courteous. Prices are fair Will go back

Good food - service not as nice

By Jen O |

The lunch special was quite tasty including great soup. Worth coming back for the delicious food if you don’t mind being rushed and not getting full attention even when ordering! We understand it is a relatively small restaurant and there are crowds waiting in this busy neighborhood - still the service could be better.

Best Chinese food in the Garment District!

By Ltownwoman |

I really like the pan fried noodles with the lo mein noodles. Lots of food, enough for two and left overs. I don't recommend the fried chicken dishes, tastes recooked. The lunch hour is very busy, so I go around 2pm. The staff is amazing, can't commend them enough. They work as a team, whatever you need they get, just ask. Unlike other places where they ask you if everything is ok, they don't. So if you need something ask any of the wait staff. They are so friendly and the great food keeps me coming back.

Hidden gem

By George Knight |

Great food, great portions. Loved my wonton and roast duck soup and everyone else with me also loved their orders: chicken pad Thai, pork fried rice and chow fun. Would definitely come again.

Nice chinese and great service

By Ron H |

I've eaten Chinese food all over the world, and this rates up there with Aussie style Chinese food which I like best. the service was great and the shop was always busy with lots of Chinese people eating there (which in my humble opinion) if Chinese people like the food it must be pretty good. The food was great and well priced.

Food was bad and the staff just rude

By Schachlo B |

We ordered noodles which were super oily and beside the oil just tasteless and ribs that were full of cartilage. When we paid, the waitress insisted that we had to pay 10% or 15% tip and wouldn’t let us leave without making a scene. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Excellent Chinese Food

By COREY M |

This hotel was located very close to our hotel. We tried the sweet & sour chicken, shrimp fried rice, chicken lo mein and dumplings. If was awesome!!! Highly recommended

Delicious!!

By Nicole M. |

The restaurant was less than a block from our hotel. Discovered that they also deliver...but the walk was so short, the quick trip up the street wouldn’t be a problem at all. We ordered when we got there, but the wait wasn’t long and food was delicious! They even have plates, upon request.

Not impressed

By TravelIntl |

Ate dinner here based on TA reviews and it's near our hotel. My daughter and I had the noodle soup. The soup broth was not tasty at all. The wontons had thick wrappers and were not tender. We did not enjoy our meal here.

Good lunch

By catalonio |

This place is as close to Chinatown quality as you get in midtown NYC. My favorite lunch specials include the noodle soups the duck over rice and the roast pork. All really good for about 10 bucks. If you eat in it's super fast good service. Take out is packed well and also fast. Girls smile and work well. Place looks and smells clean. Enjoy.

Mostly good food served with no finesse

By Sandy R |

Wanted good noodles. Ordered Singapore noodles and Pad Thai. Singapore noodles were very tasty. Pad Thai lacked taste. The server was brusque, but that may have been lunchtime pressure. Food and drink arrived ok.

Tasty comfort food

By KWong55 |

We had been out all day walking and taking the tour bus and we were on our last legs on our way back to the hotel so we were looking for comfort food and we remembered seeing Main Noodle House on one of the main drags and decided to give it a shot and we were pleased with our discovery for some Chinese food without going to Chinatown! We ordered Cantonese style won ton noodle soup, shrimp chow fun and chicken with black bean sauce with white rice. Both the chicken and chow fun came with choice of soup and two of us picked egg drop soup. The food was very tasty and we were happy with our selections The won ton noodle soup was tasty and came in a very big bowl. I loved my shrimp chow fun and the amount of food was just right!

Must try!

By aimeehughesxx |

The food here was really good, and the portions massive. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and Special Fried Rice and shared it with my mum, and we didn't even finish it all.

Good food. Quick and friendly service!

By redcanvas |

Just what we needed after a long day of walking! We had house Lo Mein, 2 egg rolls, and a coke. $30. Service was friendly and quick. Location was easy and not as busy as Times Square..but close enough that we walked by it as we were exploring!

Great Chinese Food

By David J |

It’s very rare for me to give somewhere 5 stars but this place deserves it. Doesn’t look great from the outside and simple wooden tables inside but it’s the good you go for. Shared dumplings to start which were great and then split a chicken with spinach and a pad Thai. Chicken was full of flavour and really well cooked spinach. The pad Thai had just the right of spice. Could have split one between two as portion sizes are very generous. My daughter had toe chicken and vegetable soup with rice noodles. Large bowl and really tasty. All this topped of by good jasmine tea and really friendly service. And finally - it’s great value for money All agreed we would go back

Excellent!

By Dr_Iris_B |

We were looking for chinese food around our hotel and luckily found this one. Small and simpple restaurant that serves very tasty chinese food and reasonably priced. We will return here!

The Roast pork and Wonton Soup was amazing

By Justin W |

I have visited the Main Noodle House several times before and the food and service were really good. I went back for their Cantonese Wonton and Roast Pork soup and it was delicious. The soup itself is a full meal. The broth has a rich chicken flavor of a full chicken, garlic and spices. Then it was loaded fresh wontons, lots of sweet and tangy Roasted pork, bock choy and egg noodles. It tastes a good sounds. The food and the service are as good as they sound

Best Chinese Restaurant in NY

By Sariah S |

Walked in, seated immediately and our food came out only a few short minutes after we ordered. Everything was delicious and hot - camera did not eat first

Great food that locals like.

By bethgicquel |

Visited this place on recommendation of staff at Archer Hotel. We wanted a Chinese restaurant that was authentic and casual. Spot on with this choice. Great food. The portions are large and will easily serve 2-4 people. It was fresh and tasty. Would go back again

A nice place for lunch in mid-town

By George K |

We stopped for a quick lunch and took advantage of their special lunch plates. Their menu offered a large number of selections and by selecting two different plates, we enjoyed a nice balanced meal, at a very reasonable prices. My New York friends explained the Bank of China offices is only half a block away and probably favored the restaurant with their patronage. This meant keeping their quality high and the cost low.

Great food and service

By Marlene Y |

Throughly enjoyed our dinner and service. We had the spring rolls, half duck and 10 ingredient fried rice, good came out fast and very friendly service.

Good Chinese Food in Midtown

By rdesaidc |

Went here twice during our long weekend in NY. Was very crowded at lunch, somewhat empty on a rainy Saturday evening. Food is good, and portions generous, some dishes more tasty than others. Prices reasonable.

Chinatown to Midtown

By Francesco |

We came across this place more or less by accident while we were returning to the hotel; the eye to this tour fooled me .. From the outside it attracts but once inside it seemed to be in any restaurant in Chinatown. The place let's say it doesn't give you that feeling of extreme cleanliness and even the food doesn't stay particularly in mind (huge portions to share).. obscene glasses full of water that bring you .. it was yellow and I hope it was just for the reflection of the light. There's a lot better than that.

Great Food!!

By Ahems |

We happened to find this gem on a rainy night, when we wanted to stay close to our place. The food is awesome and the portion size is great. We will go back again and again when in this area. We ordered the cashew chicken, vegetable chicken, spicy chicken as well as a delicious order of hot and sour soup. They do add a %15 gratuity for dine in, the service was fast and friendly. Great little hidden gem.

Tasty Chinese food

By Tobias G |

The food is plenty and tasty. Enjoy the fried wontons and the gigantic portions. Played 50$ for three people

Excellent Noodle House

By T S |

My wife and I have eaten here three times in two trips to NYC. Great food. I've never had a bad dish here. My wife loves the Street noodles, and I always have the sesame chicken. Try this place, you won't be disappointed. We will hit it up again on our next trip.

Great tofu

By David C |

Grabbed some General Tso Tofu to go, the service was good and the food was ready in like 5 minutes! The tofu was delicious (I'm craving more just thinking about it), abundant, and not expensive (10 bucks). The place itself looked very busy at lunch time, so I guess you'd have to wait a little if you wanted to get a table.

Excellent food at cheap price

By Y747 |

A popular restaurant, a very varied menu, large portions, tasty and special. The lunch is very attractive. I recommend everything on the menu because I ate at the restaurant dozens of times and everything I ordered was very good. The service is quick and efficient.

Great food/generous portions

By Citylights |

We discovered Main on our 4th trip to NYC the summer of 2017 and ate there 3 times durig our 8-day stay, and ate there again 3 times during our 8-day stay in NYC this month as it is a 5 min walk from our hotel. We absolutely love the delicious food and generous portions, prices are reasonable too. We absolutely recommend this place.

Good Chinese Food with Reasonable Prices (for NYC)

By LUCKYME72 |

We enjoyed Main Noodle House while we were in the Midtown area. The food comes in large portions and is made to order. The quality is good. Service is relatively fast. We good dishes with noodles because that seems to be their specialty. The Chicken Curry Soup was outstanding. Prices were good for NYC and considering the portions.

Terrible food!

By Alan B |

Frankly, every dish we had was poor quality. The steamed dumplings were tough, doughy & inedible, the special fried rice was soggy with limp watery prawns & the singapore noodles were not much better. The best thing was the orange slices served at the end. There are much better & cheaper Chinese restaurants uptown around 78th Street. Avoid!

We ordered carryout and really liked it

By Dakota20 |

We were staying on 37th street and after theater wanted something tasty and light. We ordered Szechuan beef, took it back to our room and really liked it. We followed a few others who ordered carryout who also stayed in our hotel and they said it was the third time they had takeout from this restaurant and obviously liked it. They have an extensive Chinese menu and also had beer and seating if you wanted to eat at the restaurant (though nothing fancy), it also looked like they had bicycle delivery.. .

Yum

By kadinger |

Great food, a little spending, but equivalent to city prices. Food was hot, delicious, and plentiful.

Good quality, good price

By Mark |

Good quality, good portion sizes, good service and good price. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. Price of meal was comparable with what you might expect to pay in UK, three main dishes with drinks for $75, will definitely return here.

Perfect!

By Karine K |

Great restaurant, top service and excellent dishes Very good value for money for NY Surprise at the end of the meal: free lucky cake and orange! Nothing to say except: go for it!

Main Noodle House this is N.Y you can do better..!

By Ralph M |

My wife & I were last here in 2018 and when in NY again in 2023 we decided to visit this restaurant. We ordered chicken & egg plant, Hunan chicken, half fried chicken and an order of shrimp roll. I must say a rip off on the shrimp spring roll for $3.95 for 1 piece. The food remains consistent however they don’t offer you specialized table service due to the high volume of walk in patrons. The waitress kept yelling all over the place, they actually seem confused many times. It’s still a squeezed spot and people keep rubbing shoulders. I would not return anytime soon.

Excelent noodles!!

By DonitaPo |

The place is perfect and spotless. Service is good and the food is delicious and with a very wide variety of meals. I highly recommend it for lunch or informal dinner.

Good Chinese food

By Florida1990 |

Forgot to take a picture of my meal but I got the chicken and corn soup, and beef and broccoli. The food was relatively inexpensive and the service was good. It's a very popular spot. If you are looking for good basic Chinese food; visit this location.

Very impressed by the egg roll and their Cantonese Wonton Soup

By Justin W |

I would not underestimate Main Noodle House on Sixth Avenue. It is mostly traditional Cantonese food that you get in the suburbs but everything was delicious and the portion sizes were very large. I started with a Pork Egg Roll and it was one of the best that I have had in a long time and I highly recommend it. There were pieces of chopped roast pork along with cabbage in a perfectly cooked wrapping. It was wonderful. The Cantonese Wonton Soup is one of the best things to order on a cool night. The oversized bowl was filled with flavorful chicken broth, large pieces of roast pork, large wontons and lo mien noodles. The soup was two meals in one and the wontons were especially delicious. The service could not have been friendlier and the family that runs the restaurant could not have been more welcoming to me.

Quick, delicious meal!

By forsythe_hannah |

We were wandering around trying to find something for dinner after a night at a broadway show and every fast food joint that wasn't McDonalds appeared to be closed (that was on our way back to the hotel). It was late and we just happened to pass this little noodle house and wow! We were pleasantly surprised by how friendly, quick, and delicious our experience was here! I will definitely be re-visiting the next time I am in New York. Great prices, huge portions, and delicious food!!!

Can't go wrong here for Chinese food

By doctormd |

Whenever we are in NYC we also come here (multiple times) for the excellent food. The service is fast and friendly, food comes out fast and piping hot. Portions are huge and tasty. It is not cheap but prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this place.

Would return

By nfahey |

Great lunch spot with reasonable prices in the city. My husband had chicken lo mein and I had shrimp lo men. Good flavor & ample portions. I would return if staying in this area of NYC again.

Quick Delivery, Delicious Food

By SofiaJoe |

Very good hot and sour soup, great orange beef, great beef with black bean sauce! Reasonable price. Trip Advisor sucks.

Great portion size

By Nanatobauer |

This was very close to our hotel. Portions were a nice size. Good food, fast service. Lo mein was tasty as was the spring rolls and general tso chicken. Prices reasonable.

Great food!

By Sir_Getaboutabit |

Not a lot to look at from the outside, nor indeed, inside, but the food was great! A good choice on the menu, including all the usual staple favourites that you would expect and at reasonable prices. It was all fresh, hot and tasty. The portion sizes are BIG! I would definitely recommend!

A Few Tips About Main Noodle House

This restaurant is located on 6th Avenue, just north of 37th Street. The place is inviting and clean with inside seating and service. It is much more than a kiosk. Service was quick and friendly. I had take-outs twice with Main Noodle. There was no problem getting a plate and plastic silverware. The food was good and tasty. A bit different than what I usually have. I give Main Noodle House “thumps-up.”

Great Flavors

By Ralph M |

Good old school Chinese food reminiscent of China town in midtown. The chicken wings were amazing and I ordered chicken in lemon grass the flavors were on point, service was good fast and efficient. I enjoyed the meals. I would return when in New York again.

Best Chinese

By Derubbish |

This is the best I’ve had since my favourite in Toronto China town closed. I haven’t even left my seat in the restaurant and I’m filling out this review. Great price, great food. Will definitely return. Couldn’t eat it all!

Affordable Lunch Gem

By Tanya T. |

After a long day of touring, we took the subway to this Chinese restaurant. They have a nice lunch special from 11 until 4:30 (Mon - Sat) where you can order an entrée that comes with soup (wonton, egg drop, hot and sour, or chicken corn) and a choice of rice (white, brown, or egg fried). I decided on the broccoli with garlic sauce, wonton soup, and egg fried rice. The total was only $11, which is quite reasonable for New York. The service was prompt, and the food was delicious. The restaurant was pretty busy even at 2 pm (when we arrived). If you are near 6th Ave between 7th and 8th streets, you should give this place a try. I wasn't able to finish all the food; the leftovers made for a small snack or light dinner.

Delicious Dining Experience

By sheilal921 |

We were thrilled to find this restaurant open on Christmas eve during our stay in NYC. We arrived with two toddlers and the staff could not have been nicer. But the food was truly delicious. It's surely not a fancy NYC restaurant but all the dishes were tasty and the kids really loved slurping the tasty noodles. The staff was attentive to the kids and prices were really good. We'll surely return the next time we're in the neighborhood.

Excellent Food

By joand795 |

Found Main Noodle House by accident. We wanted Chinese food close to our hotel and were fortunate to find this place. We enjoyed a very hot Pork Bun. Their Fried Wontons are very large and tasty. You get 10 for under $7. We also had the Pork Fried Noodles which had a gravy under the noodles that was very good. We went back and had the grilled Salmon dish with vegetables. Very good. I would highly recommend. The service was great and the food excellent.

A superb budget Chinese restaurant

By lintaipan |

A superb budget Chinese restaurant, much better than expected considering its very modest appearance. We ate there three times over our 5-day stay in NYC. The noodles, especially the beef stewed soup noodles (several options to choose from) and its fried rice were outstanding.

Ok if you want a no frills no fuss Chinese meal.

By DrkenSydney |

Large portions that come out quickly. Not great tasting but adequate. I had noodles which was very filling. Staff are not excessively polite nor rude.

Excellent Chinese food and great friendly service

By LBHouston11 |

Happened to walk past this amazing restaurant and so glad we ate lunch there. Portions are huge and lunch menu is so reasonable. Wonderful service—took our picture then asked how it turned out and they all were so attentive.

Not good, not bad, simply average

By Summerasalifestyle |

I stopped here for a late dinner. Small place that was filled at 9pm. Just wanted something easy. Giant menu usually means two things: 1. Everybody finds something they want 2. Nothing is better than average Fried rice: tasty but standard Steamed wontons: barely okay— became dried out and chewy. Not good but not bad. Average.

Quiet dinner

By Angelica Compton |

We were looking for a place to grab dinner after a movie and we just happened upon this spot. Total hole in the wall but amazing! They recommend their favorites. We had the chicken spring rolls, curry Singapore and general tso chicken. All dishes were super good. Everything is delivered piping hot and there will always be left overs.

Value for money

By VintagePrincess1973 |

This was our second visit to Main Noodle House. The food is great, huge portions, fast service. You'll be in and out within a hour. Dont expect anything on decor or ambiance, not happening here but if you are looking for good chinese food at a good price, this is the place.

Great food at a great price

By davidloew |

This is one of those places you could easily walk by. It’s very crowded at lunch time, for a good reason. The big noodle soup is great. It’s big enough to bathe a small child. Lunch specials are also large and not expensive. Don’t tell anyone. It’s already too crowded.

Best of Chinese noodles in NYC

By WaipahuTraveler |

The Main Noodle House on Avenue of the America's (6th Ave.) is 2.5 blocks south of Bryant Park. This family owned Chinese restaurant has been around for over a decade at the same location. They must be doing something right as the place is always packed during lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive and varied. The spiciness ranges from mild to fire breathing Szechuan. The noodles (both soup and gravy/dry styles) are excellent. The made to order entrees are flavorful. I am partial to the spicier dishes and they do not disappoint. The spicy eggplant is and "beefed" stew noodles (a noodle soup) are my favorites. I have not eaten anything there that I did not think was prepared well. They can adjust the "spiciness" to your palate. There are also lunch special plates that are a good value. Prices are on par with other Chinese food restaurants, but in my opinion, the quality of their food is a step higher. This place is a "sleeper." Nothing to look at from the outside. Everything goes into the food, which is how I like it. The crowd tells the story. We have to wait for a table during lunch and dinner hours.

Great Chinese food good value

By daza |

Lucky to find this restraunt few blocks from our hotel, food was great large portions and good drinks , top service one of our best nyc food experiences👍

A good find

By GirlsGang |

This is like a little side street Chinese from home. Good food at a good Price. Very busy. Massive portions. Just what we wanted after American food. Don’t be put off when walking past. Go in!

Quality value

By slimdave |

Really good place for quality food, great portions at a price that is excellent. Not a posh place, but service really good and definitely come back on our next visit to New York.

Nice Chinese food

By Alisa W |

The wanton noodles was nice with lots of nice dumpling. Worth the effort to visit this place. You can also get nice BBQ pork

Fresh vegetables & tasty

By diane B |

The ambiance isn’t great, but very satisfying for your appetite. The sautéed vegetables dish had plenty of broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, etc. The only thing I didn’t like was the visible oil that was floating at the bottom of my meal. I noticed the portion has gotten smaller in the last year. The waitress gave us the bill- one bill - even though we were paying separately. She said she can split the bill, but our meals were not the same cost. The bill was written in some Asian language - how are we supposed to understand it? I would recommend this place if you’re in midtown Manhattan craving Chinese food.

The best Chinese food I’ve tasted

By Rem |

This is the best Chinese food I have tasted in decades! I’m not going to forget the incredible ribs, noodles, pork and dumplings ...

Great Chinese with generous sized portions

By Rob007Kent_UK |

Had dinner here during our 5 day trip to NYC. It's nothing special to look at from the exterior but this noodle house is a great cheap eat, offering a great selection of really tasty dishes at great prices. Go hungry as the portion sizes are huge. Service was excellent and really can't fault anything about this place. Also very centrally located on a busy street - the restaurant was always packed and popular,

Best Chinese Food We've Had

By sjs0916 |

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant we've been to. Service was great and the food is even better. We will definitely return on our next trip into the city.

Fast and authentic

By Donna O |

We ate here twice during our visit to NYC and enjoyed it each time. Food was plentiful, fast and delicious. Good service also.

A hearty lunch!

By Mary L |

Stopped in to Main Noodle house on a whim, and we were glad we did. Arrived as they were opening, and they filled quickly—it’s clearly popular with the locals. They also appeared to be doing a very brisk take-out business. Decor was basic, but spotless. Service was pleasant and efficient. My companion’s fried noodles with veggies were termed ‘very good,’ and my beef noodle soup was great—hot, with a nice balance of beef, veggies and noodles. Portions were ample, prices low. Will gladly return!

Quick & prompt service. Nice food in NYC.

By DysonHoover6000 |

Nice food, friendly staff! We're from Australia, we visited USA in Jan 2018, and coming here makes a good comparison to the Chinese food we have back in the Land Downunder. Overall, the food was typical Chinese, nice tasting and decent servings, and pretty much comparable to the flavours we are used to. The staff were easy to converse with (I spoke to them in Cantonese) and they seemed to enjoy chatting with a fellow Chinese from Australia (lots of comparisons with life here vs their life in USA). The staff were also quick and prompt in their service, so nothing to fault. We found this to be a one of the better places in NYC, as there seemed to be too many fast food everywhere and we wanted some good old fashion wholesome food that wasn't burgers and chips. In summary, a very enjoyable experience!

Surprising hole in the wall

By deltahater |

You would not expect a reasonably priced Chinese restaurant on 6th ave in Manhattan. In fact, you would walk right by it if you didn't know it was there. The food was very good and at least the dinner portions are large. Unless you are super hungry, 2 adults could probably share one dish. They do have an $8 mininum charge person though. The design is basic/standard and you don't go there for the warm and gentle service either, but the food is good enough to warrant a repeat visit.

THE BEST COOKED CHINESE FOOD AND I DO NOT EAT CHINESE!

By pat b |

I do not normally eat this type of food, most restaurants fall short of authentic cooking but this place! I love the Chow Mei Fung and Shrimp Fried Ride! They cook the food as it should be with authentic flavor! Huge portions and the service is outstanding. The place is so small about 20 tables but because the food is good, service is quick, no one minds being squished in a tight sitting area. i am on Long Island and I refuse to eat any place for Chinese food but the Noodle House! Its that good!

Expensive, but worth the savory flavor.

By HuBison |

I went twice in 1 weekend and had good experiences each time. Amazing savory beef with string beans, but a bit expensive (even for Manhattan). It was crowded both times so that speaks to how good the food is. I saw a family waiting for a table, but I was seated quickly in a table up against the wall as a solo diner. I couldn't imagine the bill for several people.

Good Chinese food

By blair12432 |

First time visiting. The restaurant is close to our hotel. We were craving for some Chinese food after a long day from a trip to the statue of liberty to central park. The place was packed, we got the last table for 4 and it was around 7pm. We had a chicken curry noodle, mooshu pork, Peking duck, bokchoy and mushrooms, and fried seafood noodle. Food came in quickly, good staff but are busy with serving a full house. Food is good, plenty per serving and reasonably priced.

Good food and fast delivery

By Amy E |

After a long day at Yankee Stadium my husband and I decided to have a low key dinner in. We ordered from Main Noodle on a recommendation from a front desk employee at our hotel. I ordered sweet and sour chicken, which came with white rice, and my husband got an order of chicken fried rice which was an enormous portion. Our food arrived very fast and was delicious. We left New York the following day and decided to grab Shake Shack, but upon seeing that the line was out the door we decided to head to Main Noodle and sit down to eat. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous and had our food out quickly. I definitely recommend this place for a quick, casual bite to eat.

Spoiled for the rest

By tasmaniac212 |

While visiting recently, my husband and I ate here 3 days straight for lunch. This place stays packed which was a great sign to us. It was simply the best chinese food I've had in years! The only problem: now I won't want what's available in my hometown. The Mei Fan was to die for and my husband loved the 10 ingredient fried rice! We will definitely be returning to Main Noodle House when we visit again.

Amazing food

By Jessica9749 |

Was desperate to try Chinese food over here and it did not disappoint! Absolutely gorgeous orange chicken and the portion size was very generous for the price! 🙌🏻

Exceeded expectations

By dirk snoek |

We searched for “cheap food near me”, in the Bryant Park/Broadway area of New York City. The reviews were good, so we headed out for dinner on a Wednesday night. No wait, and the first thing I noticed were huge soup bowls on the tables near us. We opted for curry noodles and orange chicken instead of soup, and we were impressed with the service, the taste, and the generous size of our main course.

A great restaurant in the tourist part!

By Andrew |

We visited here in September 2025. The portions are huge, the staff are attentive and friendly. They lost one star because we ordered brown rice but received white rice.

Great Dinner Spot

By Cidymom |

We were staying nearby and found this Chinese noodle house within walking distance from our hotel. They have a variety of noodle dishes. My son liked the lo mein chicken noodle dish. We still can't find a restaurant at home that serves that dish. The lo mein noodles are different in Canada. We had a great dinner and will definitely be back the next time we're in NYC.

Best fast Chinese mid town

By catalonio |

It’s a lunch must. Don’t think twice. Very busy at peak hour lunch so avoid 1230 to 100 take out is packed well and they don’t screw up the orders. Enjoy

Fabulous meal!

By Donna K |

Fabulous meal! Came across this little gem while out and about. Just a small place just near Macy’s but food was excellent. A main dish would feed 2 but the ribs, amazing!

Quick with variety

By Mary J |

Came here when at a hotel nearby for a medical visit. My husband was not able to leave the room so I selected ginger duck from here, which he enjoyed. HUGE servings, including the full pint of homemade iced tea. Decent take out option.

Good Chinese and a relative bargain.

By Eeepee98 |

We opted for this place before a show. It is right on 6th Avenue, though very unimpressive from the outside. The entire is clean and bright with very modest furnishings. The menu is extensive and the portions are very generous. The food was good, not great, but probably our most reasonable meal in the city. Service is prompt and friendly. We would happily eat here again.

Good Spot

By Louise J |

Really good menu, portion sizes and friendly staff and stayed open during the recent storm which was great!

Good food

By VTsocalm |

Ate here as a result of the Trip Advisor rating. The food was certainly good, but not great. It served our purpose of a quick lunch. Pricing was about $10/dish. All six of us liked our dishes, but not enough to rave about the restaurant.

Recommended

By Jon D |

Big (!) portions, good taste and reasonable price. There's always lots of customers, most of them Asians. We were there two times during our stay in NYC, and we'were never able to finish the food. I recommend the beef with mixed veggies. Yummy!

Great take out

By Angela_Wollongong |

We were staying a few doors away at the Residence Inn and had take out from here a few times. The menu is extensive and everything is very reasonably priced. Portions were generous, and the food was ready very quickly. If you want to dine in you might have to be prepared to wait as the place always seemed really full. Great scallion pancakes - we don't have them in Australia so that was an awesome find!

Comfort food!

By Divadarling |

We wanted Chinese food and this was close to the hotel. We used the takeaway, but there were a few tables free in the busy restaurant. As has been said already, the portions are enormous and we could not finish what we ordered. Thoroughly enjoyed what we had though, and very good value!

Go somewhere else ....

By Sarah R |

Out of all the Chinese restaurants that are available in New York - I recommend trying somewhere else. We found this place on trip advisor, but we were disappointed. We ordered spring rolls, which were okay. Mains were again, just okay. Edible but not enjoyable - very tasteless. We were given 2 plastic beakers of water when we were seated, but were not offered any other drink. Also, please be aware that the staff really do push you for a tip. 2 young girls on the table next to us (younger than 12) paid the bill and left 3 dollars for a tip. One of the servers stood in front of them and said they hadn’t paid enough of a tip so had to pay more! Maybe it’s because I’m from England but you should be able to chose how much tip you leave based on the service, not because you are forced to. I know 3 dollars isn’t a lot of money - but they were young kids who probably didn’t budget for tips. Just try somewhere else .....

Brazilians in NY

By Gabriel C |

We love it! We ordered shrimp and chicken. It's worth a visit. We will definitely be back. If you’re passing through the Avenue of the Americas don’t stop trying.

Authentic Chinese taste.

By Jean C. Taveras |

My friend took me to this place and we got dinner. I had the chicken friend rice and he got brown nice with meat. Both were well done and tasted fine. The place is good for a quick bite and don’t expect it to taste like traditional american Chinese food.

Dinner

We had our dinner here today and we were so tired and hungry. This place was lovely warm and welcoming prices are very good food was yummy would definitly go again when visiting ny and would recommend to anyone to go there,

Tasty

By Ronald H |

This restaurant is a no frills place. Ordered beef chow fun, a vegetable tofu dish and and soup. All the dishes were prepared well and the portions were good. Waitress got our order and served the food quick. Would go back again.

Worth a visit

By lesliecarpenter |

What a great surprise. 5 of us showed up when it was busy but we got a table immediately. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was tasty and lots of it. I recommend the baby shrimp with cashews. And then we got a nice surprise from the bill….very reasonable. We will be back.

Dont

By maddox66 |

This cafe, as the decor is certainly not resturant style by any stretch of the imagination, is Chinese food at it's absolute worst !! I had dumplings that had obviously just been microwaved and didn't think it could get worse - then came a sweet and sour chicken, just flavoured dough balls- disgusting. Staff unatentive and totally disinterested in any level of service or quality of the food they where serving.

Lovely food and friendly staff

By Chris |

My wife, father and I went for an evening meal and weren't disappointed (on holiday in manhattan). The food was delicious and the service was excellent, the staff suggesting meals and being honest in telling us to order less as the portion sizes are generous! Decent prices considering the location and would highly recommend for those travelling to the city in need of a nice chinese meal or locals!

Worth a visit!

By Kookie2014 |

We found Main Noodle, leaving the Empire State building looking for some where to eat. Food lovely and portions adequate. It was very busy around 6.15pm when we went, we walked in and got lucky with a table. Staff very friendlly. The service was fast, food was delicious. We ordered Sweet and sour chicken Spring roles x 4 Chicken fried rice Shrimp in garlic sauce - Not massively garlicy 1 x chinese beer Total $60.05 Would go again, No prawn crackers here though :-( x

Don't try getting takeout

By Debra H |

We called from our hotel after picking up a menu on the way past. The person who answered couldn't speak English so I tried ordering by number as you do in many Chinese restaurants. She told me they didn't do numbers. I tried again (English is my first language). She put me on hold 3 times while she talked to customers in the store. Then she came back, told me they were very busy and hung up! Needless to say we didn't call back or go back. Sort it out Noodle House. Very poor form.

Very good and cheap food

By Mange72 |

This place delivers really good food. The quality is the food not the restaurant which is noisy and with simple tables and chairs. BUT don´t miss their excellent food. Its alot of food with fresh ingredients and the staff works quick.

עסקית צהרים משתלמת וטעימה

Nothing like NYC Chinese Food

By with3boyz |

Was so excited to visit NY again so I could eat yummy Chinese Food again!!! We picked this restaurant based on its location. So glad we stopped here! The facility was clean and the service was friendly and fast. They were attentive to refill our waters on such a hot day! Our table of 5 shared fried wontons, egg rolls, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, and sesame chicken. We left with 3 to go boxes! The meal was super affordable compared to other restaurants in NYC. My kids can’t wait to visit again!

Big on flavour and small on price

By Adventures of Mike |

We were in the area and just passing by when we decided to try this place. Although it may not look particularly special, the traditional food was full of flavour and of a large portion for the price paid. Staff were friendly too.

Delicious, fresh, great value

By csr944 |

We luckily happened upon the restaurant after a busy day. Food was so delicious - very large portions and the servers were attentive.

Good food. Good price.

By Micah S |

I wanted to get some takeout for lunch, but funnily enough it was easier to eat in than wait to order the takeaway. I had a very good wonton soup and a big dish of chicken lo mein which was fine. The service was quick. The prices are good. I will be coming back (or maybe order to the hotel).

Really Good Food

By toon_ada |

We went here as we were staying on the same block and we weren't disappointed at all. Location is very much middle of the city and nearly under the Empire State Building. We were seated quickly nod ordered our food off a great menu. The food came quickly and there was a lot of it and also it was of a really good quality. We really enjoyed the meal and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Really recommend this place for a cheaper meal in the big city.

Eat here !

By KathrynSmyth22 |

Highly recommend this place, looks nothing from the outside but the food is delicious! Couldn't fault it. Only wish we had more chances to come back to eat there. Only visiting the city for 5 days ! The noodle soups looked amazing, everything looked amazing, placed was packed full of customers! Perfect meal for all 4 of us

Excellent Surprise Spot

By Holidayna |

Amazing food. We had fried dumplings, egg rolls, chicken lo mien, and roasted duck wonton soup. They were so kind when we requested modifications for allergies. Great, cozy restaurant. The duck wonton soup was hands down the best soup I’ve ever eaten. The staff were so wonderful. This restaurant is such a hidden gem. Will definitely revisit on our next trip into NYC.

Good good at a good price!

I ordered the lunch beef and broccoli that came with rice and soup. Everything was delicious!! It's a smaller spot, but it's a cool spot to get GOOD FOOD!!

Good food, reasonably priced

By Noosh2002 |

Visited here with family for dinner. Seated immediately. Had beef in black bean sauce and plain rice. One portion of both was enough for both of us. Good food, hot and fresh. Cheap too. No frills, but a good reasonably priced Chinese meal.

Average Chinese food

By Shanij60 |

Nothing special with this restaurant. Tasty ,but like many others in the city. Quick service. That's all.

Very good chinese food

By Patrice D |

Good food. Lunch menus are great. Lots of choices at a decent price for Manhattan. Fast service. Friendly staff. Will return for sure !

Incredibly quick

By Halems |

Too tired to eat out and wanted to watch the game in TV. Ordered by phone. By the time I got there the food was ready. BBQ pork was excellent, well seasoned and tender. Portions were quite large. Prices were very reasonable.

Great hole in the wall for Chinese food!

By nediva_in_nyc |

Oh, Oh, OMG!! Really?! This place is a hole in the wall gem. Try going on a regular weekday and there's always a line out the door. Why? The food is good and cheap especially at lunchtime. I fell in love with the fish fillet special with mixed vegetables. It comes with soup and for the price you just cannot beat this!

The best Chinese food!!

By GH_ShrtOrDrCook |

The best beef and broccoli on the planet. The pan-fried dumplings are great too. The beef noodle soup is excellent on a cold day.

The BEST Chinese food we’ve had in years

By Lisa G |

When dining at a ‘local’ restaurant for the first time, I always look at the customers. This place was packed with seriously happy eaters, ranging from young families, to older couples, to friends. The food was AMAZING! The lines moved quickly. Service was efficient and attentive. OMG! Can’t wait to return. My only issue was the portions were so plentiful that I could finish anything… which made me sad because the food was so so good! Thank you for such a satisfying meal!

A Few Tips about Main Noodle House

By Marty Bielicki |

If it wasn’t for the large sign above, one can actually miss seeing this establishment located on 6th Ave and between 37&38th West. When we are staying at the Embassy Suites close by, we always make it for one meal at the Main Noodle House while in NYC. The ambiance is what one would expect for NYC—simple and direct. The service was indeed friendly and prompt. My wife and I loved the Mu Shu Pork. It was her first-time easting Mu Shu and she is now a convert. Going to the Main Noodle House has become one of our NYC traditions.

Great mid town Chinese food

By jclaresparkle |

Popped in for a quick meal when in mid-town. Food was good, great service & reasonable prices. Casual sit in restaurant/cafe. Would recommend.
