This place is truly something special. Standout choice if you’re into quality food in a sophisticated setting. Each dish was a masterpiece. Seafood tower is a must-try, ribeye steak melts in your mouth, truffle linguine is a game-changer and the escargot is simply the best I’ve ever had. Ambiance is sophisticated from the moment you walk through the door, with elegant decor and a staff that effortlessly combines professionalism with warmth. Seriously, the service is on point. No stiff formality here; they guide you through the menu like seasoned pros, making sure your dining experience is exceptional. Maison Close nails the upscale French dining game in NYC. It's not just a restaurant; it's a whole experience of culinary excellence that you won't forget.

Love this place. The atmosphere, food and drinks were great. The bartender men’s petite knew his mixology and it showed in the drinks, excellent place to hand out, have fun with your friends or go out on a date.

Our expectations were not met unfortunately. For this type of restaurant I expect an experience rather than a quick turn around. Starter arrived 5 mins after ordering and part of our main came about 5 mins after we had finished our starter. The sides arrived after we had nearly finished and we didn't receive an acceptable apology. We decided not to extend our stay by another ten mins by ordering a dessert and were surprised that the issue of the late arrival of the sides did not result in the cost of them being removed from the bill. Obviously this was flagged and they were removed, but for a restaurant that is not on the cheap scale we expected a lot more. Lots of group bookings meant for a loud evening too. Disappointing and will not return

Outstanding experience, all around. If you’re a Franco-phile or even just love a great culinary experience, this place is the bomb. Gorgeous ambience, smartly decorated booths and tables, expert service. Everyone was pleasant, frequently checking in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The best rack of lamb I’ve EVER had…and I love lamb. My spouse had the veal…exquisitely prepared. Drinks were perfect! Try the White Negroni! Young crowd. Expensive, but worth it.

I just happen to find this restaurant on TripAdvisor. We were in New York because my granddaughter started to attend NYU. My daughter and her husband are very familiar with Manhattan because they worked there for years. The restaurant was beautiful inside. We got 7 PM reservations. We were a little concerned at first because there were very few people in the restaurant, but it filled up quickly. I had the frogs legs and they were fantastic and tiny. I ordered the veal which was a country kind of dish Like a stew. It was excellent and I took it home and it tasted even better then. My granddaughter had beef bourigiugon. She said it was good. I tasted her mashed potatoes and they were delicious, buttery. My son-in-law and my daughter had the French chicken and they thought it was amazing. John was the manager and he came over and it was my daughter‘s birthday so they gave us a glass of champagne, and we ordered the pear tart, which was magnificent, buttery and very well-made. I feel very bad about the reviews that were before me. It’s unfortunate they didn’t have the same kind of experience that we had. We are planning to return. No questions asked.

On entry Madison Close is a stunning restaurant. It seems to have been transported from movie set and is quintessentially French. The host and servers were overwhelming in their desire to please and ensure our( wife) comfort. At 6:30 it is quiet and the focus is on the wonderful food. At 8:00 the scene changes dramatically. Crowds of the 30ish , classless generation arrive and the noise level becomes incredible . I am a New Yorker, used to noise , but this is far over the top. If you want exceptionally fine food dine early. If you like noise beyond compare arrive later. Also a magician and an astrologer offered there services at our table??? What are the owners trying to achieve?????

We celebrated my wife's 50th Birthday at this venue recently, we were a group of 17 and what can I say, we were blown away by the food, service and entertainment until the early hours. As a standalone restaurant the food warrants a visit alone. During the late night reservation be prepared for a lively and enjoyable experience. Special shout out to Momo, Ophelia and John for going above and beyond to enhance the experience. (Can cater for coeliacs and Gluten Free).

I came here with friends and it did not disappoint…. I ordered the truffle spaghetti and the size of the truffle was incredible. The staff were so great, the food was so fresh, and the cocktails were varied. Overall, the Maison Close was very good food, ambience, and vibe overall.

Service was impeccable and my cocktail sublime, but my food was almost inedible. Although my friend enjoyed his escargot and cod, my foie gras was just une sauce à l'huile. The leeks and potato served with the scallops were another oily mess. Dessert was lovely, but not enough to make up for the disappointment of the meal. Not surprisingly, I had tummy issues that evening.

Expensive and a bit snooty for just OK food. The decor borders on cheesy French bistro, and the music is quite loud. We made a reservation, and, as it opens at noon, showed up to a huge line of people (some with and some without reservations - so it took a while to be seated). Once you pass all the Instgrammers outside and find your way inside, it is a nice space - but so so loud and hard to hear the people across from you. The food was OK - pricey for what you get, but that's NYC. The service was not amazing. Our first server was visibly sick and coughing/sniffing right behind us, so when we asked for a new table/server we were given quite the looks...sorry if we don't want to catch what he decided to bring into work that day. Overall, do not recommend.

I had high expectations when I made a reservation. That is also allowed for a restaurant that charges $85 for a pasta and a minimum order value of €300. It started quite well: a nice space and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. After being unceremoniously moved to another table twice, we tried endlessly to place an order. There was no attention for us, but only for large groups. Service was slow which is not appropriate for a restaurant that charges such prices for the food. The dancers were distasteful to watch and the whole thing gave off a cheap, but definitely not French atmosphere. Go to this restaurant if you want to mingle with so-called rich people and orderly men and women. You will feel at home. Definitely don't visit the restaurant if you have class! Maison close(d) please!

Very nice diner with Kouskous to take care of us. His service and the food were amazing. See you very soon.

We had booked this restaurant as some friends told us we should try it out. We gave name and surname two weeks in advance. Two hours before they unilaterally canceled the reservation. They must have checked out our IG and seen we are gay and with trans friends. We are advising all our friends of the community not to go ever again.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHARGED FOR $1300 BOTTLES YOU DIDN'T ORDER
I went to this restaurant for my birthday with a small group of friends in September. We chose the 10 PM late seating for dinner on a Sat night, and brought a birthday cake that we wanted to share later on in the evening. The night started great - until we were blindsided with an extremely expensive bottle of champagne that we didn't order/was poured without our consent, and then were stuck with the bill. As someone who has worked in restaurants, hospitality, and with luxury clientele, I would never recommend this establishment and would NEVER come back. We were seated promptly and orders taken quickly. We ordered 1 round of cocktails, 3-4 appetizers and $80 bottles of rose to share. We were planning on having a night out here, but aren't people who order flashy club bottle service or anything in the thousands. About 30 minutes into dinner, my fiance asked if we could order a bottle of Don Julio or Casamigos tequila for the table assuming it would be $300-400 at most, and was taken into a different room to "see options." Once he went there, servers tried to force him into ordering a bottle of Ace of Spades in order to order a bottle of tequila. We were not planning on spending anywhere near that amount and definitely not on champagne, so he declined and wasn't allowed to order the tequila... already quite strange. We continue on with our night, ordering more of the $80 rose (the only other alcohol we ordered for the rest of the night), and then the servers come out with a Magnum bottle of the same rose asking if we wanted that. We asked what the price was and it was $300+, so we declined and told them we were fine with out current selection. Again, we are not trying to rack up a massive bill Now our night has progressed without any other incident, we ordered more rose throughout the evening, and it's 1:20 AM. My birthday cake that we had brought still hadn't been brought out, and the restaurant closes at 2 AM. One of my friends asked about it, and the restaurant must've forgotten because immediately after that it was brought out. Following that, the servers make a huge show of pouring champagne in my and my friends mouths immediately following the cake. We hadn't ordered champagne but having been to multiple nightlife establishments like Lavo, Bounce, the former Bagatelle, etc, this is something that those places do when someone is celebrating an occasion to create a show. At this point it's 1:40 AM and the restaurant is starting to clear out, so we ask for the bill. To expedite, my fiance gives his credit card and asks them to bring the bill for him to sign for our group. Imagine our shock when I see that bottle they had just made a show of pouring was $1350 and is on our bill?! We hadn't ordered that, to be honest I don't even like champagne and wouldn't have ordered champagne to begin with (aka why we had rose the whole night) and they poured it directly into our mouths without even asking?! Also at 1:30 AM, why would I order a bottle of alcohol at that price point, when the place is clearing out, lights are about to be turned on, and we are literally about to leave? I asked the server right there to take the bottle off and they go "you had a minimum and this bottle hits that minimum charge." Actually no, we had hit the minimum charge required before that bottle, and it's illegal/fraudulent to force an item onto a customer's bill without their express consent. Not once over the course of the evening was anything about this mentioned, and no one from my group ordered anything separate from me. We disputed the bill with the server, and he refused to take the item off. We then disputed with AmEx, but because my fiancé had already given his card, it looked like we had ordered that bottle and they refused to credit us. I mentioned this situation to my coworkers at the office and one of them says "oh that place is known for doing that". I was speechless. In summary, it appears this is a regular occurrence and unless you want to be swindled out of a significant amount of money, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
