We live 6 blocks from there but never went until last week! It was my fiance's birthday and they gave us a great table. The service was very thoughtful and the waiter (William?) was very well informed on the food and preparation. The food was exquisite. We had the salads, pasta primavera and the fish...it was just so delicious. The manager noticed it was my fiance's birthday and brought a great cake with a ginormous fireworks candle for us to celebrate. His name is Shake!. We are forever grateful. We liked it so much, we're coming back for the food, the great service and the nice attention toward us!...We just made a reservation for next week! with our families :)

In town for a conference and the restaurant was recommended in a blog- so we thought to try it. Great atmosphere, excellent and friendly staff, delightful drinks (so much so that you didn't care they were $18 dollars). The food was amazing! I had the salmon and my friend had the swordfish. Both were completely eaten and was satisfying! I had food envy from looking at my neighbors' dinners. The French dip was huge! Both of our neighbors had cake with fireworks coming out of them. What a fun night for our first night in the big apple.

This restaurant is AMAZING!!!!! The portions are huge, the food is AMAZING, and the atmosphere and decor is very nice. The service is excellent as well. I went for a birthday, and the birthday girl loved it.

The two of us went there for dinner and really enjoyed it. The rooms are bigger than I expected and nice too. The menu is American with a few international influences. There is a great selection of sandwiches with jus for dipping. But of course there are also some of the classics like Max and Cheese or Caesar Salad. The portions are, as is usual in the USA, relatively large, but also really tasty. The very friendly and professional staff gave us a few cans and boxes to take away for our leftovers. It was relatively full in the evenings despite it being early March, so I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The location west of Central Park can be easily combined with a walk through it before or after dinner.

Everytime i come here is an pleasant experience. The food is great. Love the diner vibe of the restaurant. They even gave us their famous 27 layers cake because it was my birthday.

Loved our family get together here - short, but good service, wonderful food. The French Dip was excellent. If I lived in NYC this would be a favorite for me!

Our Sever was rude to us from the beginning. His name was Anthony. We asked for grenadine in soda and he said they didn't have it, which turned out to be incorrect. Everything we asked for seemed like a chore for him, even though we spent a lot of money. They charge automatic 18% gratuity so therefore it takes the incentive away to give good service. The food was good but I will not return as it didn't feel good being constantly disrespected by our server.

We were supposed to be a party of five but with a toddler acting up 2 ppl were late or not coming at all. The waitress and manager both highly unprofessional and extremely rude refused to sit us in a totally empty restaurant. The manager has NO idea how to talk to customers. Unreal how rude. For sure will never be back

We dropped in to Maison Pickle for a lunch before visiting the Metropolitan museum. It was great. We split the lettuce wedge with sirloin and the deviled eggs. Helpings were generous and the staff was happy to split the salad for us. The eggs were to die for. I already have my order planned for our next visit - French toast with chicken.

Ok so being in the area to buy shoes ( Harry’s ) and knowing there’s still some old time Jewish food stores in the area , I actually thought that Maison Pickle was a pickle shop that I somehow missed. Well at least they did have pickles and damn good ones too. Friendly staff that impressed this old bartender with her knowledge of drinkology , good vibes from the regulars as well. I ordered the appetizer Caesar salad and was impressed by its size and authenticity. Kudos to this place. I will be back soon and won’t wait until I need shoes to visit the area . Bonus was a regular running out with in the pouring rain with my doggy bag that I had forgotten.

Our group was sent over with our names on the waitlist from Jacob’s Pickle, the sister restaurant. We were told our wait time was 30 minutes. They added 15 minutes each time we asked if our table was ready. After an hour and 15 minutes waiting with a 10 year old who was looking forward to eating the fried chicken, bacon, and toast, we left. We went next door where the food was delicious and we waited a reasonable time.

I heard about Maison Pickle because of its stunning 24-layer chocolate cake. I saw it on a episode of Food Network awhile back and have wanted to come here ever since. My friends and I came here to celebrate my belated birthday and it was worth the commute to the Upper West Side. We got here early after 6 pm and I put my name on the waitlist once the hostess said it would only be 10-15 minutes for a table. It was only 10. The restaurant is much smaller than I thought and space is tight and a bit cramped. It gets loud fast here since they have a full bar and it looks like their cocktails are popular. Our dishes were cleared efficiently by staff but I wonder if it was because the evening was winding down and it was a subtle way of getting us to leave but not saying it outright. Our waiter was friendly but busy and it took time for him to take our orders. The food did arrive promptly. We started with the garlic and parmesan, delicious though a bit dry. We expected more butter and a bigger serving considering the price tag is quite high for just bread. Our entree portions were a good size; I had the moules marinières, which was a great portion, not too much or too small. The fries were just meh. The mac and cheese was hot and cheesy and the creamed spinach was just right, not watery or watered down. One friend had the classic French dip and the other had the porchetta. We went all out for dessert; of course I had the 24 layer chocolate cake, the Oreo icebox pie, and the creme brûlée. The cake and pie were surprisingly not too sweet and the creme brûlée was warm and eggy, too eggy but still good. I would like to mention our waiter kindly pointed out that a 18% tip was already added to our bill. I've been to a few places who neglect to mention this because they hope to get an extra tip. Very shady!!! The three of us left stuffed very full and satisfied. My next plan: come here for brunch!

I've been here several times for brunch with my grandchildren (ages 13-15) and it's been fantastic every time. The portions are huge. The French toast, 3 cheese omlette and hash browns are beyond delicious and can feed 6 people. Loved the coffee (unfortunately they don't have decaf.) Service is always great. Our family has been a Jacob fan since he 1st. opened Jacob's Pickle. Jacob, if your reading this, Mia and her grand parents say hello and wish you continued success!

Great French Dips and so much more. Every new thing I try I've loved. The food is great and the services has always been great. Can't wait to go back.

My sister and I stopped by last weekend on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. This was definitely the culinary highlight of our trip. Our server was great, and he was training a new female server who was equally as attentive and enthusiastic. We sat upstairs on the rail overlooking the bartenders. These two were a class act! As a bartender myself and member of the USBG, these guys were always on point. They were great with guests, but equally as professional when their bar was empty. Great show... from cocktail shaking to the accurate measuring of spirits. I wish I’d gone to say hello but it was a long day of traveling at that point, we were just ready to go. Of course a quick word about the food... amazing. They are known for their French Dip and it was Fantastic! After reading reviews I’m sorry we didn’t have room for that 24 layer cake. I’m already looking forward to our next visit to New York so that we can come back!

My wife and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food and atmosphere were great. We had the rolls with honey and butter that were warm and melted in your mouth. The Asian shrimp appetizer was good but I would probably not get it again, the French dips were divine and huge portions. To top it all off was a massive piece of chocolate cake that is probably big enough for 4 people to comfortably share. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is that our waitress although very nice had an overwhelming smell of stale cigarettes about her that would linger every time she came by the table.

Great food and service. The atmosphere is fun and gives a real NYC neighborhood experience. The pull apart bread is a MUST. I love the French Dip, but my daughter had the Patty Melt this time and reported it to be the best burger she has ever had. This was a special NY trip for my girls’ birthdays so we topped the meal with their 24 layer chocolate cake…to die for! WOW! One of my favorite places with consistently good food. Can’t go wrong!

The food is excellent, well prepared. Take your whole family though and order just one meal, because it’ll feed them all

Huge portions and such fun to see what the nearby tables ordered. Taste did not disappoint. I’d like to go back and try more things on the menu. Plan to share! Nobody could eat an entire portion. My only complaint was the noise level. We chose to sit outside and freeze as opposed to suffering the deafening noise inside. Go if you are really hungry and not feeling like meaningful conversation.

Great brunch spot on UWS for family birthday celebration, though a bit pricey. Especially enjoyed the Caprese omelette.

Ate Sunday brunch here on a recent winter weekend. Staff is very welcoming and very efficient, always a good mix. Our waiter was also perfect throughout our meal. Our group sampled a couple of versions of the chicken and French toast stacks - these are simply brunch perfection and alone are a good enough reason to come here. But there’s more. The Mac n cheese is one of the best versions we’ve collectively ever tasted. The deluxe French dip was another awesome choice. Looking around at other dishes we didn’t order (But wished we also had) tells us we must return at least a few more times…. Highly recommend this eatery for brunch!!

Came here for Saturday morning brunch, and usually am on top of making reservations at least a week in advance, but only called the night prior. The only time slot available was a 10am or earlier. I'm glad I ended up going at 10am because why the time 1045/11am hit, the place was packed and there were long lines for a table. The food is absolutely delicious with a lovely French twist. The portions are HUGE and I don't think anyone really leaves finishing all of their food. The service is good and the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. Lots of drink options, I know the restaurant is open until like 2am, so you can get cocktails, beers, wine, mimosas... This place is good for couples, friends, families, singles... really anyone. We loved it and will be back soon.

Friendly local and very accurate service. Very varied menu, but the meat is very good. Dinner offered, but the New York fantasy still develops there too

Delicious food and great, friendly service. The French dip is amazing. The atmosphere is noisy but fun. The drinks were also delicious.

Very nice desserts, the bread selection with the honey and butter was very nice and great to have a different perspective than the normal bread and butter service . Carbs and all you would definitely be thinking of their big Portions very Mac and Cheese so prefect

Our family loves Jacobs Pickle, but had never tried Maison Pickle until this past weekend. We don't know why we waited so long. We made a reservation as brunch in Manhattan is a very popular meal! We were seated right away at a terrific table by the windows so we could people watch as we ate what was a delicious brunch. The menu had something for everyone from a lumberjack for my husband, a smoked salmon hash brown dish for my daughter, and a caprese skillet omelette for me. Our waiter was the best! helpful in describing cocktails and brunch items, attentive in always making sure we had drinks, water refilled, and coffee too (which was very good I might add). The portions are huge especially any of the french toast options, but they happily pack up the leftovers for you to bring home (which I did and enjoyed for lunch the next day). It was crowded, it was loud, but it is all part of the vibe that is Maison Pickle and we loved it!! Kudos to the owner for another huge success in our families eyes and stomaches.

We had some of the best food here during our trip to NY. Servers were friendly and food was delicious! I had the challah croque madame with fried chicken and my partner had the beef patty melt. We shared poutine tots also. All was delicious and the price point is fair for the portion size. We went for mid week brunch at 11 and we had no issue getting a table and music wasn't loud at all! Will come back again.

The hotel where we’ve stayed every year since 2021 included this restaurant in a list they recommend to guests - we’ve always meant to try and finally did on Sunday for a late lunch. We’ll be back - lively vibe, very friendly and efficient staff and delicious food. Definitely go with an appetite and/or share - portions are huge.

Good food, enormous portions (they can/should be smaller), friendly staff, overall a nice meal. Why the poor rating, then? The surprise was the automated 18% gratuity added to the bill, for a party of 2. Call it mandatory service fee, not gratuity. We would've tipped anyway, but this felt cheap and wrong.

Very convivial atmosphere for Sunday brunch/lunch. Food was good and extremely plentiful. Waitress was lovely and attentive. Six of us were seated 3 to a side of a rectangular table which isn’t the easiest for conversation, not sure if they had any better arrangements. At least we were in a relatively quiet part of this noisy place.

We arrived thinking we would be ordering from the dinner menu but they serve the brunch menu right up to 4 pm. And we both ordered from that. Since this was the perfect time to go, we had no wait and walked right in. The service was super, and we had omelet with 3 types of cheese and veggies, french toast with bacon & sausage, and hash browns. Huge plates of food. We enjoyed what we ate there and took the rest back with us for another day. Jacob's Pickle may be a bit better, but this was still excellent place to go. Just need to make the lighting a bit better in the front section, and maybe a remodel of that part. But we were in the main dining room and that was brighter and more cheery.

We arrived on Sunday for brunch The place was packed, our waitress was not so professional and they added 18% default gratuity. The food is not worth the wait honestly.

This place is fantastic! Can't wait to go back! Every menu item we ate was equally or better than the best we have previously had in that category, from caesar salad to the mac and cheese to the pull apart bread and beet salad to the crudite. The 24 layer cake looks amazing and the taste matches. The atmosphere and music make dining a celebration. The service was outstanding!

First, I was forced to give my phone number to enter, when I asked why they did not really give me an answer beside “we need to know that you are here” (contact tracing?) and “we won’t use it to spam you”. When we set down, we got water. The cups had a faint smell of eggs. We ordered the Berries N Cream French toast (huge dish, very good if you like sweet entrée), the classical mac N cheese (again, large dish, yet very bland) and the Maison fries (did we mention the large portions? The fries were excellent). Coffee was simple disappointing drip. All in all, the experience was not bad but definitely disappointing in light of reviews we read before arriving.

The FOOD!!! French dip, fried chicken caesar salad, beet salad and pull apart bread all amazing. The cocktails were divine and the service was the best I've ever received!!! Go on a Sunday and time your dinner around 8pm to hear The Dandy Wellington Jazz Band...also AMAZING. Will be returning for sure!!!

I ordered the hot honey chicken and toast and it was crazy good. It was huge though, so I probably only managed to eat about half of it. I was originally supposed to go to another place nearby for brunch that day, but the other place was closed and a friend had recommended this place and I'm so glad I ended up going here. The only other thing I will say is it's probably a more fun, enjoyable experience to go to this restaurant with a group, because then you can try a bit of everyone's different dishes. I loved what I ordered but would have loved to try other things, and it's easier to do that if you come here with a group.

Unfortunately a very disappointing visit to Maison pickle. My partner and I were looking forward to a meal here for our last night in NYC on vacation. It was incredibly busy, crammed into small tables like sardines and could barely hear each other speak. However as it was a Friday night we gave them the benefit of doubt. We ordered the French dip sandwiches which were completely inedible. Nowhere on the menu does it state the beef is RAW and COLD, meanwhile the bread and cheese sauce is hot. An odd combination and one which doesn’t work at all. Mac and cheese was generic, nothing extraordinary. We were further disappointed to see a mandatory 18% tip added to the bill which you are forced to pay. You are then asked if you want to make another tip to the waitress, on top of the already extortionate bill… really disappointing end to what was a fantastic week in NYC. As we hadn’t eaten any of the food we finished our evening in a nearby McDonalds where the food was actually edible and tasty!

Great vibe/decorations and also delicious food. They call themselves a French Dip & Cocktail bar and they really live up to the name in every way along with other food options that are just as delicious.

This is the kind of place the Felicetti family in the old days would prepare for like it was a military campaign. My late mother would instruct us to fast until meal time so we could get our moneys worth out of this menu with gigantic portions. It's not "all you can eat" as "Albert's French Restaurant" was back in the day and there are no trams to take you around afterward to gawk at the "beatniks" as in the era of Albert, but with these servings it may as well be all you can eat. At Albert's my father was a champ at packing away the steaks (throwing in an occasional shrimp course) and my mom would demand that we avoid eating the bread because "that's a trap they set so you can't eat so many steaks". Now in my more prudent old age, this practice seems a tad gluttonous to me, but it is an invitation to bring stuff home for several extra meals. As my son John says, don't arrive there unless you are hugely hungry. Food is pretty good and service is fine. Poutine tater tots with chicken gravy, mozzarella and hollandaise was the big winner at our table. Onion soup was expectedly generous, Caeser Salad ( garlic croutons, Pecorino Romano) was not your ordinary salad. Chef's salad wedge was not just a wedge with it's sirloin beef and shaved Pecorino Romano. None of this counts the extraordinary belly bombs: Classic French Dip with sirloin, horseradish aioli, au jus. AND the sausage, eggs and Texas toast naturally (or should I say unnaturally) deep fried and loaded with buttermilk toast, sausage and Vermont cheddar. I recommend this place, but only with the caveat: "let the stomach beware".

Crazy good French Dips and French toast! The best dip ive had in a long time..Dont pass on the 15 layer cake..One downside is its cRAZY expensive "FD" is $23 with no sides.Great bloody mary!

All I can say is Bread. The pull apart bread was the best. The honey and butter was worth the trip to NYC. Also had a special bread with cinnamon sugar and drizzled with frosting which was great as well. Mac and Cheese was really good. Tried the prime rib sandwich and it was ok. But the breads was the best.

A delicious way to start your day, especially your birthday! The cinnamon bread was fabulous, the omelette delicious and the service excellent!

The restaurant is nondescript from the Broadway entrance. Once you walk in you're greeted by a totally clean, classy long bar and three levels of dining areas. The staff is professional and polite. The food selection is a little limited but who cares. It's all so good. Portions are filling and satisfying. Enjoy the French Toast, Fried Chicken, Sandwiches, Eggs and Fantastic Pork Cassoulete.

This order was through delivery, but was still excellent! I ordered a few appetizers to try—the pickled crudités (vegetables), the bacon steak, the mashed potatoes with beef au jus, and the deluxe French dip, along with a Bloody Mary. The pickled crudités were excellent. This is a brand of Jacob’s pickles, so pickling is their thing. They were crisp and bursting with flavor. The bacon steak was literally that— a huge slab of bacon, smothered in maple sauce that really shone through. It was fatty and succulent and sweet and salty. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and buttery. The French dip—honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Crusty French bread, sirloin of beef. It comes with fried onions and caramelized onions, but I omitted the fried onions due to personal preference. Also comes with mustard and a damn sexy fondue gruyere cheese sauce. I could eat this sauce on its own. It is rich and creamy. When it’s added to this sandwich, it’s down right sumptuous. To add even more flavors to this tastebud-bursting extravaganza, dip the sandwich in the au jus sauce. The Bloody Mary was also spicy and seasoned well. Delivered fast and presented well. What a meal!

Oh Maison, you're so much classier than your sister Jacob...... if you don't get it yet. Maison Pickles is the sister restaurant to Jacobs pickles located around the corner. Both restaurants are equally good but some may prefer one over the other depending on your craving for food or ambiance you're looking for. Like I said before if you're looking for a more classier, almost upscale relaxed place to have dinner with a special friend or group, then go to Maison's Pickles. My absolute favorite dish is the buffalo Mac and cheese and deluxe steak sandwich with dipping sauce. I've been here a couple of times. The first time, I had a great time. I have to applaud the bartender (in the back) who served me great tasting drinks and was very polite and welcoming. But please don't go and not try the pull bread. OMG

Large portion no banana french toast. 3 thick slices of challah bread too sweet. I would try something else if I go again

Only comment is bring an empty stomach. The portions are enormous. We all could have split our meals. The food and service were great.

My daughter heard about this place when looking up restaurants for our trip to NYC in March. She saw a picture of their 24-layer cake and was sold. Sooooo, off we went in search of this place and boy were we not disappointed! We all had an appetizer to share and then went straight for dessert. I'll be honest, the salted vanilla 24-layer cake was even better than the chocolate, but both were divine. The service was amazing, and they made fresh coffee for us that was delicious.

The bread at this place is AMAZING! Good spot for brunch in NYC. Nice atmosphere, good seating indoors and outdoors, and our waiter was attentive.

The patty burger was delicious (the bread is heavily buttered though) and the raspberry drink was a perfect summer cocktail. Loved the vibe in the restaurant.

This is by far the best brunch we have ever had....so delicious! It is a “must stop” in NYC. Highly recommend the challah french toast with fried chicken, the challah French toast with banana and caramel and the smoked salmon hash brown. All I can say is wow!

Amazing vibes, people and music ... Even a little too loud but loved it! The place is packed and energy is incredible. The food !!! The food is divine, excellent quality , presentation, service and price ! Great cocktails as well . Love it !!! I will be back :)

The dining experience here is generally very good, if a little sterile. Warm lighting is countered by clean lines and OCD shelves of drinks bottles. The food is plentiful and comforting, but delivered by soulless automotons spouting obsequious commentary, like performing circus animals. However, that aside, the food really is great and I’d go again.

Nine of us went out to celebrate two birthdays for Sunday brunch. My daughter, who is new to living in NYC, chose the restaurant. What a terrific find! Fabulous bar, terrific menu, and a great staff. Real good choice of breakfast/lunch meals that were very reasonably priced. I had the patty melt, and it was clearly the best I have ever had! No BS! Everyone loved the food and the service. Do NOT skip their pull-apart breads. Absolutely delish!!!

We visited on the recommendation of a friend who lives in the neighborhood of Maison Pickle, and OMG were we impressed. The portion sizes are enormous as others have noted, so our party of 6 ordered a few things to share which was perfect. Highlights were the deviled eggs, cheese tots, bloody mary's and an order of french toast. Food was great, space was cozy and service outstanding. Overall great experience and will definitely go back next time I'm in NYC!

The food is interesting, though each portion is family-sized. But at a weekend brunch, be prepared for loud music and a packed house of people screaming to be heard. Incredibly loud and a clear millennial favorite. Not for the faint of heart or gray of head.

Stopped in for what we thought would be a late "brunch", around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Well, the place was jumping! We enjoyed some cocktails and wine up front that the bar, with an excellent bartender. Once seated, we tried a couple of the pull-apart breads, decadent and filling. We were a group of 7, and one bread would have been sufficient, but it was fun to sample. The Tuna Nicoise salad was a hit, with plenty of tuna perfectly prepared. Now, the French Dips. The Classic was wonderful, and sizeable. The Deluxe was MASSIVE! Between the fried onions and the caramelized onions, this is a two-handed sandwich and then some. It could feed two very hungry people. Incredible. A friend and I did halfies on the classic and deluxe, and it was still too much, but heavenly. Sadly, no room for dessert. Service was professional, accommodating, and entertaining.

Nice food and nice ambiance, the onion soup good, the roast beef sandwich nice, the beetroot salad unique and the house negroni, easily one of the best in NY

I love this place - the service and the food always amazing I’m a fan -a must try -I have been there maybe 6 times... chicken and toast- yum!

Can’t go wrong with any of the French Dip options they have here. We’ve come here upwards of 6 times in the past year since we live in the area and it’s always been a consistently great experience. Will be back, obviously.

Busy restaurant on the upper West Side. Dark and noisy but the food is good! We had fun. Friendly staff.

Made a pre-theater reservation and was I delighted with their food. Don't eat all day if you plan to dine here. The portions are big. Maison Pickle specializes in French dips and decadent dishes that remind you of soul food. They have several sweet and salty chickens and Texas Toast (they call it French, of course, but it is thick like Texas toast and surprised other patrons). There's a patty melt that will make you write home to mom. There is a great, basic cocktail list. And yes, just about everything comes with pickles. The area were sitting was populated with gorgeous and rare picks of people in the R&B industry -Clive Davis, Diana Ross that made me want to know more of this place. They move the food quick, something reminds of New York 20 to 30 years ago but not something I see as frequently now. And they add automatic gratuity, something I see increasingly and appreciate! Pay the workers. This will be a repeat stop on our visits.

Enjoyed the Maison Pickle. Large portions (enough to feed two). I had the french toast with chicken strips on top (delicious) and the homemade chips are good, also. My drink was refreshing, just what I need (it was their version of a Moscow Mule). Will definitely return. My only issue was it was dark where we were sitting and it was hard to read the menu.

Maison Pickle is the result of the Jacob's Pickle owners deciding to go a little more high end...not very high end, but a little more high end, and this really makes for a place that can be just fun food and drinks, or a nice night out. Personally however I think this is the place for a solid brunch! First off you have the french toast and Croque Madame. Both so well done, and with friend chicken on top a true meal (though everything is big here, so just keep that in mind). The french toast is crunch and soft and sweet and vanilla-y. All the things you could ever want in a french toast right there! Can't go wrong with that order. If you're there for brunch or for dinner one of the best choices you can make is to order a french dip I'm in disagreement with friends on which french dip you should order, but everyone would agree that you should get a french dip. My favorite is the deluxe, with sauce and cheese and fried onions. It's decadent and heavenly and pairs well with a cocktail, beer, or glass of wine (all excellent at Maison Pickle). But if you're in the mood for something a little less decadent the classic really allows the meat to shine in a splendid fashion that my girlfriend loves. I've never had the Reuben one, but it looks stellar. Maison Pickle is a great choice for not too expensive yet fantastic food on the UWS at any hour of the day! Grab a drink with it to make it more fun and you'll be super happy!

Top-notch service, an energetic vibe, beautiful surroundings, and a tasty and eclectic menu of high-quality offerings make this a winning destination on the Upper West Side. Brunches are spectacular, and all the dishes are done to perfection. And portions are verrry generous, so you might actually want to consider sharing some entrees. Desserts are just out of this world, too, and the cocktails are definitely a highlight for those who dine later in the day.

We made reservations a week before Mother’s Day at 10am as we wanted to avoid the crowds on the actual day. I recommend you make reservations as they get crowded for brunch any Sat/Sun. The servers were excellent and answered questions we had about the items. Water was refilled continually and we were able to get complimentary sparkling water. Everything we had was delicious...portions are large and almost everyone had leftovers. When we were leaving, a line was forming at the front door and the place was pretty packed. One of us had the Berry Challah French toast, another person had the Salmon loaded hash brown and I had the Supreme skillet omelet. Would love to come back for the French dip. The bourbon maple syrup was to die for.

looks like a small bar/pub but what a surprise when you walk in. The bars are amazing, great decor and delicious food. It is very noisy with loud music and lots of people. I had pest pasta and it was phenomenal! make this a stop if you are in that neighborhood!

I was sent cold brew instead of diet coke. I do not drink coffee it upsets my stomach. I told them it was a special location because it was my girlfriend birthday (I was just expecting a happy birthday for her) not even a mention from them.

Don’t pass this place. We’ve eaten here several times and have not been disappointed. Portion size is huge! Be advised. You absolutely have to have the deviled eggs. Go! Try this place you will not be sorry, or hungry after you eat.

Loved the atmosphere here when we had dinner. There are two different nice bar areas for cocktails and they have a great selection of drinks. Highly recommend the Parisian Apero. Service was excellent, really enjoyed our waiter. We tried the patty melt which is a large portion. We definitely could have split one between two people. Also tried the salmon and fried chicken, bacon and toast which was also huge. Keep in mind the large servings if you plan on ordering the 24 layer cake that we didn't end up getting because we were too full!! Highly recommend.

Break bread is phenomenal! All the food looked great and we watched the other tables around us with envy. The salad was huge and very good: great fried chicken. French Dip was excellent! Really good choice. We will be back

We stopped for lunch and what a great decision it was! We had the lunch price fix, mushroom soup, macaroni, and cheese, and Oreo pie. We started with an appetizer of the best-deviled eggs I've had. Mushroom soup was amazing! Fried chicken macaroni and cheese tasted great, but it was too salty for me. Oreo pie, come on, Oreo pie! What else could it be but amazing? All portions were large, we were not able to finish the pie. Service was amazing! The atmosphere was great, however the music a little loud for us. We will absolutely return for more yummy options. I can't wait to try it for breakfast.

Went to Maison Pickle for Dinner. The pick a part bread was out of this world amazing. I recommend the olive and feta one. It's a great appetizer. I also had the sausage for my main course. The description makes it sounds very interesting but let me tell you it was delicious. I would eat there again in a heartbeat. The service was good but not exceptional that's why I gave it a 4 out of 5.

Maison Pickle might be the less famous version of its sister spot, Jacob’s Pickles, but it is the better one. You don’t have to wait on a line, and the French Dip is honestly the greatest sandwich I have ever eaten. I prefer the Ruben. Great cocktails, food, and dessert!

This is a neighborhood place that serves humongous portions. It's fun to go as a group and share a variety of dishes. The food tastes okay but it is prepared to look great and the space is lovely. Maison Pickle could be a gem but it seems they work hard to ruin it. Most people working there are nice enough, but the management has rules in place that make going there particularly unpleasant. Two of us showed up at 9:30 on a Sunday morning to find an almost empty restaurant. There were only 2 or 3 tables in use but the hostess quoted the policy that we had to wait until our entire party arrived before she would seat us. Even a text from a friend specifying her arrival time was not accepted. Somehow the manager overheard and realized how ridiculous this was and agreed to show us to a table. Upfront he apologized for the loud volume of the music but said that the owner insisted on it. We asked if he could put on a different type of music, one without so much base. Though we were assured this might happen, we didn't notice that it did. I haven't measured the volume in Maison Pickle, but New York City has noise inspectors and I doubt this restaurant would pass inspection.

I visited MP because of the hype surrounding their Instagram page showing the huge portions of cake and delicious looking dipped sandwiches. As I arrived I seemed to not be alone in this. There was a queue of walk in customers almost to the door at 2.30pm and the place was packed. I has pre booked a table letting them know it was also my birthday. There was no host managing the queue so I was unsure whether these people were being assisted with seating / prebooked/ walk in and as such being polite I joined the queue for about 5 minutes. Feeling this wasn't right as my reservation time had no passed I walked to the front of the queue where I was told to wait to be seated which I was after a few more minutes. The tables were so crammed together that I had to apologise to people dining on both sides as I squeezed past them and into my seat - the tables all looked rather tight. A polite waitress then took my order of onion soup and a deluxe dip with a mimosa. She assured me the Onion Soup would be right out which is was in a concerning quick time, meaning I hadn't even received my drink yet or had time to adjust to the environment or the experience. The soup was fine but came with a spoon far too small for soup so it took ages to eat. The mimosa did then arrive from the bar by the time the soup was finished. This was whipped away quickly and once again I was assured my entree would be right out which it was. The dipped sandwich was good and there was a lot of food on the plate. The meat was nice and light and tasty with the cheese sauce. I then ordered the 24 layer chocolate cake (as it was my birthday) and this arrived without fanfare. The cake is impressive in its size and I only managed a very small portion. I was then presented with a box and bag and it was made clear I would need to box this up myself to take it home. I was at the same time presented with the check and a mandatory 18% service charge already added. What I felt a bit hard done by was that clearly another diner had also mentioned their birthday (as it asks during the booking process) and was celebrated at the table by the waitress with a cake and sparkler, and yet mine was just ignored and not even mentioned by the waitress to say happy birthday - so why ask? I don't think you can celebrate one patrons birthday and not another's and it shows a lack of attention to detail. Overall I would say the experience is slightly marred by the tables being squashed together (at one point a family came and sat on the table next to me and rolled the pram containing the baby right next to my seat and this was the situation for the majority of the meal), and the lack of service that made me feel like they just want you in and out as quickly as possible, to take their 18% and to sit someone else. I would have much rather have not given in to the hype from insta and gone to a smaller, friendlier restaurant with less patron turnover and more personal service.

Love it! Good food, good service! Best to make reservations beforehand. We didn’t but luckily they had some seats available! The pull apart bread is a must order!

I had the classic French Dip. None better ever. So much meat! The fries. Wow! Great bottle of wine. My wife and daughter love the place. Were tempted by 24 layer white and chocolate cakes but passed. They gave in to temptation a few days later and ordered one of each delivered. These are magnificent cakes. Very large. Very good. Very quickly gone. Our server was attentive. Kept water and wine glasses filled. Good food. Good Service. Good Time. What's not to like!

This place is fun. I really enjoyed its atmosphere and the food was amazing. The wait staff was very accommodating and professional. I got the patty melt stock was amazing, the rest of the table got the sandwiches with the dip and everyone was super pleased with what they got. Being a Ky boy I had to inquire about their bourbon selection and it was on point!! I'd definately come back here.

Everything was very tasty - the monkey bread with cheese and bacon was addictive. I ordered moules frites which was very filling and yummy. The real star of the show was the 24 layer chocolate cake. I’ve been seeing this cake on Instagram for years and have always been craving it – now I finally have tried it and can say it’s worth the hype! Incredibly rich and filling, but definitely worth the calories.

I love Maison and its sister restaurant Jacob's Pickle and have eaten in both places tons of times. However, my most recent experience was the WORST. There were two of us for dinner at 630p. We were seated after about 15 minutes and then promptly forgotten. The main room can get loud, so I thought a corner table would be good. WRONG. When a waiter was finally flagged down, we ordered everything fast and assumed food/drinks would come at a decent clip. No - drinks and appetizers arrived around 710p, but at 730p, with no food, we realized we would have no time to eat (we had to be somewhere nearby at 8p). We flagged down a waiter and were told there was a big party in front of us - that's not what we wanted to hear - why is the other party more important than we are? Minutes later, they bring the food which we tell them to pack it up to go. I was embarrassed because I suggested this place, and so disappointed because the food and experience is usually so great. Eating a cold sandwich at 9pm is no substitute. I hate to be the persnickety orderer, but if I ever return to this place, I will be very specific about what we need and when. I suggest you do the same.

I always wanted this restaurant to be good because it is hard to find decent Southern food in Manhattan. Unfortunately this one has gone from bad to worse. The chicken and toast waffles was atrocious. The chicken was tough and dried out. The toast had congealed syrup that was too sweet and felt like leftovers. The Reuben was worse than any simple diner in mid town. Plus the cleanliness rating wasn't A. The restaurant occupies a convenient location on Broadway. Waste of a good location. With such bad food you have to put up with high noise levels. I won't give this place another chance and you shouldn't either.

Maison pickle was an interesting brunch spot. The food portions are enormous. That’s really their thing. The food isn’t bad by any means. But it’s a factory. They forgot my omelette which in the end was for the best, given how much food had come out. It was all good but overshadowed by the gargantuan sizes. Service was slow. Though people were friendly. Good spot for kids though.

Stopped in for lunch. Had the "Lunch Box" 3 course meal. Started with the soup followed by the Patty Melt. Food quality is high and portions are huge.

I ordered the Lumberjack Stack for Brunch and was impressed with the amount of hot and excellent tasting food that showed up in a platter and placed in front of me. I think it was 3/4 nice sized Challah French Toast, 3/4 slices of bacon, 3 planetoid sized sausage patties, 3 nicely fried eggs. Some syrup and I dug into what was literally a 5-6 inch stack of food. Suffice to say, I could not finish it all-almost finished it all. You need to be hungry to sit down and order this platter of food-and have an empty stomach. A superior breakfast-my new go to brunch/breakfast joint.

We came here for New Years Day brunch, so we booked a table. The place doesn't look big from the road, but it does go in quite a bit and extends into a multi-level dining area with an open kitchen. The menu is quintessential American, particularly the French-dipped sandwiches and the French toast. I was warned that the portions here were big, so we opted to share a French toast with a bowl of the maison fries with cheese and bacon. I was pleasantly surprised that the portions here were actually big. Even the two items were a bit much for two people. The fries were very moreish and crispy. We got the hot honey crispy chicken and that was very tasty. Both the waffles and the chicken were crispy and cooked well. There was sufficient honey to last until the last bite and then some. They did have some tasty-looking multi-layered cakes but we were too full to get some. Definitely a really nice place for something that is tasty and well worth the money.

We live locally. My two teenage daughters went with 2 friends and after waiting 45 minutes to be seated passed there reservation time. My daughters who do not look Hispanic but are heard management and waiters speaking negatively about them. Very disappointed. Upper west side father

We had heard brunch here was a must. It was good and we all walked out happy. I’m not so sure we would go back but we are happy that we checked the place out. The French onion soup and Mac and cheese were the highlights!

We visited while in NY for a family visit. We like to tour different cities and literally get the flavor of the city. We researched restaurants and found MAISON PICKLE. This was an excellent choice. We were seated at a small table at first that didn’t fit 5 adults but they quickly moved us to a very nice table. Our server Kristi I was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely nice. I ordered The Razzle cocktail, it is possibly my all time favorite drink. Some of the family had the Port-Fashion, The Sangria and another cocktail I don’t remember. All were delicious. We started with the Crispy Pickled Artichoke and Feta and Olive bread. Amazing. We all shared a few Patty Melts, and of course, The French Dip sandwiches. We loved every bite. This restaurant was an amazing experience all round. The atmosphere, the service and the flavors of the food and drinks all came together to complete our evening.

Maison Pickle is on the upper west side of Manhattan, right on Broadway and just a few blocks from the 86th street subway stop. Upon entrance, the place looks to be dominated by a long bar. But in the rear are two levels of nicely decorated restaurant space. The food is terrific and served in huge portions. Dined here for brunch and saw several tables sharing entrees because they are so large. We tried 4 different entrees and all were enormous. The restaurant is most well known for French dip sandwiches - served in several styles and all delicious. But brunch stars included various versions of french toast including those with fruit, maple butter, fried chicken, and more. All sorts of other dishes, too. Servers are great, prices are moderate, and attire is casual. Will certainly dine here again.

The food is good here. The solution is probably to order for delivery, because everything else actually sucks. The door person was unnecessary unfriendly. Cocktails are really bad - sweet and watery, probably aimed to the young crowd that makes the place noisy. Service was, well, weird at best. However, needless to stress, cooking is done right here. Tasty, attentive to detail, interesting.

Super rich comfort food. The rolls are amazing, a must get. The mac and cheese is amazing but rich. Loved the french dip, but again rich hearty food. The pickles are great too

It's Upper Westside classic. (There is a big 'brother' restaurant on the East-Side). Classy food, wide bar area, many niche eating tables. Food is American with a fresh twist. This is great to be seen and to hide away. Perfect for any day and night.

The hashbrown tasted great but it wasn’t a good mix with the salmon and the other ingredients that were added. The salmon was a bit raw and they added extra ingredients that weren’t listed in the menu that made it have a bad aftertaste.

Service was great. You get very large portions of food. Their French Toast lives up to its name. Had Berries and Cream. Reminded me of a fresh hot baked cake. Place was very clean.

The French dip over the top good but the kicker was the 24 layer cake....oh my God decadent. Very nice surprise to find at such a place. Very friendly wait staff.

I really wanted to give a higher score because some aspects were very good but I can't justify it if I'm being entirely objective. Visited for brunch. Ordered cocktails to start, which took far too long to arrive. When they did come they were strong and well made. I like to relax and enjoy my drink before food comes but they arrived at the same time, even though we ordered the drinks first. The food came so fast it felt like we were in a Five Guys. The rapidity from arrival to having our order dumped on the table by a kitchen hand made the experience feel impersonal and uncomfortably rushed. The food was good without being special and there was so much of it that I couldn't eat for the rest of the day! The mac & cheese was particularly good. The girl who served us was pleasant and there are no complaints there. I'd describe the experience as a bit too clinical. Too much emphasis on presentation for Instagram photo chasers but less thought given to managing the dining experience in a relaxing manner. If I'm spending north of $100 for lunch and cocktails I'd like to have more than 45mins before settling the bill!

Wandering around upper west side and grabbed a Manhattan and a Shirley Temple to take a quick pause. Service good. Drinks good.

Good restaurant in New York frequented by New Yorkers. Friendly, helpful and fun staff. Really huge dishes, I recommend everyone to share the dishes. We couldn't finish anything. What we had was very good but unfortunately, for us, ruined by too much maple syrup. But these are American tastes that are different from ours. So this too must be accepted. To try

This place is adorable. It gets pretty busy but they manage it well. We were hunting for a place that did the dipped subs and we found it here. The French dip rolls are delicious!! There could have been more sauce on the roll itself but the jus you dip in was incredible, we ended up drinking the rest! Mac and cheese was also yum and tasty cocktails as well.

Maison Pickle This incredibly crowded, really fun and young, UWS elevated diner/ coffee shop serves such yummy comfort food that it’s worth the $60 round trip Uber ride from our apartment. When the kids are in town, THIS is our brunch spot, because THEY INSIST upon it. The menu offers a “stick to your ribs” variety including omelettes, French toast, macaroni and cheese, various French dip sandwiches, fried chicken several ways, and, for the more health conscious, a few salads. We’ve opted for the French dip with cheese and onion strands (scrumptiously unhealthy) hot fried chicken with French toast and French toast with berries and cream (ditto on the scrumptious AND the unhealthy), macaroni and cheese (which was INCREDIBLE, ditto again) and the fresh peppered tuna salad (yummy AND healthy). EVERYTHING was incredibly tasty, well prepared and (while we are NOT into large portions) very, VERY generously portioned. The service is pleasant and accommodating, the atmosphere is LOUD and frenetically fun. The cocktails are creative and tasty (vodka/ gin lovers…try the razzle). With REALLY yummy (but heavy) food, a loud, super-fun and young vibe this is the PERFECT place for a weekend brunch when the 20 something kids are in town. (Make a reservation or don’t even bother trying to get in, AND wear stretchy pants!)

One day we were looking for a lunch spot in UWS, and we found this place. It had a long, narrow bar that was quite beautiful. Passed the bar was more long and narrow space with seating all the way to the back. When you make the turn at the end of narrow dining area, the space opens up much bigger. We ordered one appetizer to share, Mac and Cheese with Buffalo Chicken and Blue Cheese Drizzle. Now, we did order “small” but this thing was pretty darn big! It was the king of comfort food here, oh-so-satisfying to your body and soul! For the first main dish, we picked Smoked Salmon Loaded Hash Brown, and Challah Croque Madame. They were both large in portion as well. The Hash was very different from what we expected, but tasty. Croque Madame was sooooo good, one of the best Croque Madame I’ve ever had for sure! We asked to wrap up about half of the food to go, so that we can get a dessert. They had this outrageous items called 24-layer Chocolate Cake. This thing was massive, so much so that this chocolate tower fell over when the staff was trying so hard to put it down carefully. LOL. It was one of the best chocolate layer cakes I’ve ever had! We took more than half of it home with us, and enjoyed it at home for a few days. All the food were really tasty and flavorful. I would definitely go back for more!!! Our server Lasha was really nice, friendly and welcoming. He took a really good care of us. The only negative thing was the music…it was playing a bit too loud, gave me a slight headache…

Between the name and the fact that it replaced Ouest, which had been one of my favorite restaurants, I expected not to like Maison Pickle. I was wrong. The menu, while far from huge is extremely interesting and well-presented, and the service is impeccable. They do serve pickles, and the pickles are very good.

We had reservations and the place filled up quickly. We had brunch with family and small kids. They don't like to add or subtract items off the menu however there is plenty for most eaters. The food portions are huge... I think my Chicken and Challah French Toast could have fed 2 to 3 people..

We had just left a Celebrity cruise, which has great food. But not when compared to the amazing food at Maison Pickle. We all had the Prix Fixe lunch with the most amazing corn chowder, the most perfect baguette with rare tender roast beef, delicious broth, awesome cole slaw, and key lime pie to die for. Creamy filling, lots of real whipped cream, just slightly sweet. (We like the key lime pie that's a regular for one lunch on the ship, but this was so much better!) We walked across the street after going early to a movie. Great location too!

Great dinner, neat experience with good service. The food was tasty and the portions were HUGE. You must try the garlic Parmesan break bread; it was phenomenal! There were so many things I wanted to try...it will definitely be a go to place whenever I’m in NYC.

I have always avoided this place because the noise level can be deafening, but I stopped in today for a Restaurant Week lunch, and everything (watermelon salad, classic French dip, key lime pie) was delicious. The friendly server kept diligently refilling my water glass—with ice water—which is not always the case. I did not get a cocktail, but I also admired what has to be one of the best stocked bars in the area.

A great New York eatery for breakfast and lunch. Portion sizes are huge so I would definitely recommend sharing amongst the table. The cinnamon buns and French toast were great. The place also has a great, fun atmosphere. Would recommend a visit when visiting NYC

My wife & I just returned from trying this place for the first (& last) time. Nothing wrong with the roast beef sandwiches we had but THE NOISE level was such that no conversation was possible. To be fair the place was filled to the brim with under 40 year-olds who seemed to be enjoying themselves & the noise and staring at their smart phones but part of a pleasant dinner for us includes the social element of good conversation and that was IMPOSSIBLE here.

Came at what felt like was an off-hour, 6pm-ish on a Saturday night. (Maybe this prime time for those of us who live in the burbs.) Seated promptly, service was patient and friendly as my old friend and I chatted and chatted away. The french dip is a big draw, but I skipped for something else and was equally happy. Holy towering chocolate cake! Be prepared to share, for sure. We had neat atmosphere in a cozy booth tucked under a staircase (?). I would def go back!

Came all the way here from Ohio for the 24 layer chocolate cake. We got there for lunch thinking there's no way they wouldn't have it at lunch, i mean sure maybe by dinner they run out, but lunch? So we get sat and wait about 20 minutes to order and another 30 minutes for the soup and salad we ordered. Then we find out they're out of chocolate cake. Saddened, we get the vanilla. It was ok. The frosting is reeeeally thick (which, it would have to be to support a tall cake) and the cake was kind of dry, like it had been frozen (which would make it easier to stack because those thin layers would break so easily)... but i would have much preferred a tender, fluffy, yummy cake instead. Seems like its more 'structure over taste' so it's an instagram worthy photo-op. Meh. But! At least the soup and salad were good!

We had the hot honey fried chicken and toast with mac & cheese. The food was amazing but the portions were huge. Felt like we couldn’t eat for the next day! Would recommend coming here!

With "COCKTAILS & FRENCH DIP" as its jazzy byline, MAISON PICKLE has become a delicious Upper West Side neighborhood staple. Located in the landmark café space vacated by Ouest & still being subtly whispered in their 40s neon sign out front, the Main Dining Room behind the Bar turns the corner & expands into two intimate mezzanine dining corners & down into the main party room which sports ample views of tree-lined 84th Street. True to its promise, we enjoyed catching up over Maison Pickle drinks sweetly redolent of a sophisticated bygone era—one described as "a sparkling cocktail with Copper & Kings Ginger Absinthe, Gruet & a lemon twist." Passing on the house special "Dorothy Parker Gin" & "Duck Fat Washed Black Scotch," I sipped on an Argentinian Felino Mendoza, basically a meaty Malbec with a dark berry finish as we snacked on a plate of "Feta Herb & Olive Pull-Apart Bread," oven-hot on the table between us. Sipping cocktails & people-watching, we perused the enormous menus & saw brunch delights passing by on plates around us that looked so sensational, you'd expect them to be served by Disney characters with 3-fingered gloves. One popular specialty was a mountain of Challah French Toast topped with Fried Chicken & skewered in place by a steak knife & there were also platters of Smoked Salmon with Caviar & Dilled Crème Fraîche loaded onto Hash Browns--they even craft a Challah Croque Madame. Fortunately for us, more health-conscious fare was available as well & we enjoyed super-crisp Caesar salads generously dressed with fresh slabs of Pecorino Romano, one with Chicken & one with an excellent Salmon. Finally, over strong drip coffees (no decaf here), it was fun to reminisce about shared memories & plan for future adventures over a good Sunday luncheon at Maison Pickle.

Fantastic lunch! I highly recommend the Garlic Parmesan Rolls, the Onion Soup and the loaded French Dip. Great service, very cool atmosphere

10/10! The service was amazing, staff were so friendly and helpful plus the food was great. If you’re going GET THE MAC N CHEESE, it’s the best I’ve ever had!!!😍

We put our name in for a table and was told that it would be 45 minutes. We had to leave after 90 minutes and having watched several people complain and get seated right away.

This restaurant is wonderful. They even have sweet tea for the southern tea lovers. I couldn't even believe that. The tea was great! My French onion soup was the best I have ever had. I cannot wait to return here on my next trip to NYC.

The portions are huge and the flavors are equally big! The French toast is a must for brunch. The decor is great and feels like an iconic NYC eatery. I’d happily go again!

The place is lovely the atmosphere is friendly and family Friendly. The portions are insane 3 people could have eaten off of my fried chicken and challah toast. The chicken is very crispy but not greasy and the meat is juicy and tender, the challah toast is divine. I don’t like overly sweet and the syrup here is perfect, topped with nuts, a perfect with bacon. I have ordered this with waffles in Harlem and at Roscoe’s, can’t even begin to compare, the quality at Maison pickle is outstanding and the atmosphere, friendliness and total ambiance is what I like. Will return over and over again.

One of our best meals in NYC. Everything we had was excellent and the wait staff was great! There was 4 of us and we split 3 sandwiches and there was food left over. We ordered the French dips and the small buffalo Mac and cheese. Yes all you need is the small because it is very large! Also get a slice of the 24 layer cake, we got the chocolate and it was delightful! The next trip to NYC we will definitely stop again.

Good taste but too much food. Over the top! You can definitely share everything on the menu. Service was good but let patrons know the portions are huge.

The Jacob of Jacob's Pickes (full name: Jacob Hadjigeorgis) is a maestro who knows how to put together an exciting menu of comfort food (I know--exciting doesn't usually go w/ comfort), a sense of warm hospitality, spectacular draft beer, and reasonable prices. His Maison Pickle on the UWS's Broadway, slightly more upscale than his original place & new dumpling cafe on Amsterdam Avenue, is for grown-ups who are young at heart but need a lower noise volume. We went early. When we left at 7 every seat was taken & the joint was jumpin'

For French dip fans this place can’t be beat. For over the top luxury get one with pate! French fries are crisp as you would wish. The side of creamed spinach will easily feed 2-4. Good wine list with choice at reasonable prices...for NYC. Pickle has kept footprint of previous restaurant including very friendly bar.

Brewery decor. Smiling and efficient welcome. One dish intrigues us on the menu: French dipp. No idea what it could be! What’s French in there??? In fact, it is a baguette sandwich (good baguette!) very loaded with meat (in America, we are generous when we fill sandwiches). Next to it on the plate, a stainless steel container full of liquid… we are intrigued. Courageous, we dip our sandwich in the liquid… it’s delicious! Meat gravy, which accompanies the sandwich. Very reasonable price.

We went at the perfect lunch time when they weren't busy. We got great suggestions from the bartender/waiter. Truth be told, we went for the 24 layer cake, but hang on... We both started with mixed drinks. I got the Sunflower which was PERFECT. Hubby got an old fashioned which he is very picky about and he was happy with it. We got the buns with herb butter and they were divine. Perfectly fresh. I got the french dip. Son and hubby shared chicken Caesar salad and were happy with it. Then came the grand finish. We originally were going for the 24 layer chocolate cake, but saw that they added a Salted Caramel Vanilla version. Darn them!!! So at the last minute, we went with the vanilla version. Heavenly. Divine. Seriously. I cannot rave enough about it and let me tell you, I am PICKY when it comes to desserts. My trips to NYC revolve around desserts. THIS was THE BEST of this entire spring break trip. Bravo!!!

Arrived at 3pm but got the brunch menu. Had an au jus dip (beef with Gruyère and fried onion on a baguette). Dish is ginormous, ingredients all good quality. Tasty. Best part of the meal (which I had at the bar) was interacting with the bartender. The bar has a really great variety of liquors and I got to sample a bunch of them (for free) together with the bartender as we discussed them. Did not get a shot of Pappy van Winkle ($120), but had a great time

The first thing to know about this restaurant is that the music is very loud. We were seated next to a speaker and asked if they could lower the music. Of course was the answer, but it didn’t happen. We asked again and same result. Lip service. We ordered the pickled crudité as an appetizer. We were a group of 7, sharing. After about 15 minutes, a bus boy came and removed the plate, without asking if we were done. About half the appetizer was still on the plate. Then the waitress who took our order stood at the head of our table, so those of us at the end had to shout our orders to her, instead of her coming to us. And silverware is handed to you on a platter to pass down, rather than a waiter placing it by you. So everyone’s hands touch the silverware. Finally, food was just okay. Not going back.

Awesome food and the atmosphere was great. The food is delicious. The staff was friendly and very efficient. I had the steak frites and fries. The key lime pie for dessert was so horrible I ate the whole thing. Lol. The pie was incredible.

Don't let the name of this place fool you - they serve much more than just pickles (although their pickles are delicious!). This place is a mix of an upscale bar and an intriguingly delicious restaurant, and we ended up trying a wide variety of things. We shared the the pull-apart feta and olive bread, the d'olived eggs, the buffalo chicken with bleu cheese drizzle, and the berries-n-cream challah french toast, and everything was fantastic! Great service, warm ambiance, and overall a fun experience.

It's all about the comfort and the cocktails but I prefer cake over cocktails sometimes. Location: I like the retro-chic façade. The broadway front of this restaurant does not reveal how larger this place indeed is inside. You must walk past a long narrow bar to be seated by the host. We were walked all the way to the back which opened up with two levels. Food: They are famous for their French dip sandwiches and cocktails, and their Oreo cookie cake. We ordered the small sized version of the appetizer, Mac and Cheese with Buffalo Chicken and Blue Cheese Drizzle for $16. The small size option was very large and flavorful. For the entree, we had their Smoked Salmon Loaded Hash Brown for $19, made with crème fraiche, caviar, pickled mustard seed and dill. This hash brown item was very satisfying for seafood lovers. The Challah Croque Madame for $18, made with sliced black forrest ham, Béchamel, mozzarella, gruyere, and sunny side egg. From the three items, the Croque Madame was the star with its presentation and flavor. We had to try some of their desserts. They had the 24-layer Chocolate Cake for $14. The height of this cake was impressive. It was so tall that the server knocked it over. The cake did not look as perfect as it could but it tasted so good. We also ordered coffee for $3.50 each. Overall: I wish that I had two or three stomaches so I could try more of their menu at one time. The service was quick and efficient. When we arrived the music was a little loud for a quiet weekday. Thanks for the great experience.

This place seems to be very popular with a young crowd, but it's also fun, very tasty, the quantity is a bit overwhelming, and drinks are also yummy. The place has a time limit at the moment and the reservations and hosts are a bit annoying, but this is the Covid times. I don' think I would return unless I was with out of town visitors. But it's a good and fun experience and the indoor space is really lovely. I liked it when it was West but they have managed to preserve the coolness of the interior.

Delicious food, top shelf craft cocktails, fantastic friendly service, great vibe. We had the mussels which are the plumpest and freshest I ever had. The pull apart bread was great. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered spicy bloodies, not spicy, odd taste. Couldn’t be saved even adding Tabasco. Garnish was pickled cauliflower, nasty taste of the pickling. Good food, the drinks kinda spoiled the meal and of course they cost a fortune.

From the moment you step in the door the lovely warm but happening vibe hits you. Service was superb - warm, informative and timely and the food delicious. What a lovely place in the upper west side. So glad we went!

I don't usually like "French bistro" style food, but Maison Pickle was great. One of the best French Onion Soups I've ever had, and they had a bread dish (sort of like focaccia) with chopped olives sprinkled on top that was simply delicious. The wait-staff was excellent. I wanted the dessert, but the chocolate cake was literally 10" high, it could feed 8 people. I am definitely going back. Warning: Portions are Generous, come hungry or split dishes.

Stopped here for an early drink while waiting for my girlfriend on her birthday. Sofia kept me company while I waited and served us brunch when my girlfriend arrived. I cannot say enough good things about Sofia, she let us taste liquors before putting them into our cocktails, she kept us entertained, she suggested a delicious dessert in honor of my girlfriend's birthday. She was lights out, what a wonderful place to stop!

Nice brunch/lunch menu with interesting choices and if you are imbibing, fun cocktails. Food was well prepared, tasty and as described. The room has small tables mostly - so if full would be noisy... Service was attentive.

Very deceiving from the outside, once in to the left is an impressive bar where we had a drink while we looked at the menu, there was a great choice of gin’s, in fact any drink! The staff were so lovely, couldn’t do more for you. Was not rushed, sat down and greeted by another lovely member of staff who went through the menu which was really helpful as it was difficult to choose between all the amazing things! We even got take out dessert, 25 layer chocolate cake!!!! The food was amazing, it really was a fantastic place to eat and would recommend anyone visiting New York to book and visit! Certainly not one to be missed!

If you want a breakfast and mimosa or bloody marry that will leave your belly full and satisfied, THIS one is it! Big portions, fresh delicious food, good service and great atmosphere! Highly recommend.

I was a solo diner at Maison Pickle, reason was the old folks didn’t want to go out for dinner and my partner was too sick to head out in the cold nyc weather so I was left to dine alone. I had a very attentive server that made sure I was okay and constantly checking in. His recommendation of the special of scampi with pasta was a fantastic choice. I had also ordered the chocolate cake (which was what I came to Maison Pickle for!) and he observed I was struggling with it and volunteered to take it away for me. Fantastic dining experience here and great food too.

We came here for dinner while visiting NYC. My daughter picked it because of the good reviews. However, the experience was a bit underwhelming. First the good, The pull apart honey and butter bread was good. My daughter had the french dip which was average at best, a little salty, I had the fried chicken bacon and toast. The chicken was dry and the toast was too sweet, like french toast. My wife had the mac and cheese which was also dry and bland

We went to this Resturant by recommendation of our friend and we where do amaz with alllllll the foods we eat and the friendly staff , I think I have to start dieting for next whole week ! It was a perfect experience , the omlet , the breads the watermelon salad the desert and drinks , aaammaaazziiing! Thank you Arsham , Thank you Emilia

We had a lovely dinner here on our trip to nyc,the food was lovely and so was our sever!!Would definitely recommend.Food portions are big so would advice sharing.

I’ve followed this place for years on Instagram and was so excited to finally get to see it in person and try their food. The restaurant is far bigger inside than it looks from the front. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food itself is incredible. My husband had the buttermilk chicken with ceaser salad and said it’s the best chicken he has ever had. I tried the mac & cheese. Even the small size is plenty big enough. The dish itself was cheese heaven. The main draw for us was the 24 layer cake. We ordered 1 of each flavour so we could each try half of each cake. They are totally worth they hype. We were defeated by the cake and ended up boxing up half of each slice for later. Hats off to anyone that can manage a main and an entire slice of 24 layer cake in 1 sitting! For 2 mains, 2 drinks and 2 slices of cake the bill came to just under $100 as an 18% gratuity is added on automatically.

So, normally love this place. But there’s a process issue if you attempt to order a bottle of wine with your dinner. We ordered a bottle of red wine (a grape that could be red or a rosé), and it turns out it was miscategorized on the menu as a red but it was actually a sparkling rosé. The waitress brought it over, let us know that the wine was mistakenly listed on their menu as a red. So we ordered a different bottle of red wine. No issue. And then we waited. Our food came. No wine. Halfway through dinner. No wine. Other people getting their bottles. Us: no wine. It took 20 minutes for the bottle to arrive. The waitress apologized and said she’d bring something else over due to the delay (she didn’t). After we finished the bottle, our table ordered another bottle. Again…20 minutes (and the restaurant had emptied out). By the time the wine came, we were finished…and were ready to leave. We almost cancelled the bottle, but as she had already opened it, we decided to keep it. The food was great (and usually is as we’ve been there a lot). Amazing food and huge portions. But for whatever reason, their process for delivering a bottle of wine is broken. Having to wait over 20 minutes (2 times…not including the time wasted on when they brought a bottle that was incorrectly categorized on the menu) for a bottle of wine to be delivered to a table is ridiculous. I hope they can fix this process, because otherwise, this is a great place.

Stopped by this place for drinks before dinner! We all really enjoyed our drinks and enjoyed the ambiance.

Well, what can I say…we found this whilst still in the UK and were intrigued by the French Dip sandwiches and we were not disappointed! The sandwiches are the best we have ever had, my partner wanted to turn right round and get another! The absolute key to how much we loved this place was Landon the bar tender. He was engaging and interesting to talk to, we loved watching (and judging!) his cocktail experiments (the vodka & blueberry creation should be on the menu 😉) and the Jacob Collins was gorgeous. We came from Central Park and the walk though the residential areas were lovely and nice change of pace from Times Square where we’re staying. Highly highly recommended, we’ll be back!

This was really a hit! Delicious French dip, great scotch, and good service. It’s not to be missed. My only disappointment was that I didn’t have room for one of their signature desserts. From a look around the place, everyone was enjoying.

What a perfect lunch. If I was worried that the old delis have vanished, MP is reassuring that the tradition is still alive and kicking. The Reuben sandwich was huge and luckily we split it. The French onion Steak melt was to kill for. Can't wait to go back. Service was friendly but not fast due to the slow kitchen.

We went to Maison Pickle with 10 people. The staff could not have been nicer. The food was fantastic. All the appetizers were excellent. The entrees were very generous and tasteful. It was the best short ribs I have ever had. Please make sure you save room for their home made desserts. Even if you are not staying up town it is worth the subway or cab ride.

Tik tok really failed me on this one. Didn’t enjoy the atmosphere, waitress sucked, volume LOUD. The food was completely average - food you can get anywhere, just good presentation/large servings.

We met some friends here for dinner and I have to say this was probably the best meal of the entire holiday. I had the Lamb and others had steak options, everyone was very happy with the meal, service was great. We also tried the 24 layer cake which was really nice. I would certainly recommend if you are in NYC. The restaurant looks small from the outside however there is lots of seating.

The food and wine here was ok, we had a reservation and were squeezed in a very tight table with our neighbours in close proximity so much so they could have been on our table. It was busy crowded and loud, and to top it off the waitress gave us our bill before we’d finished. Not really a place that I would want to try again.

Some restaurants get off to a good start and hen fade, bu Maison Pickle remains a string contender. The menu is limited but very tasty; the spicy pickles are first-rate; and the chicken with waffles may be best if you don't eat for a full day before hand, because the serving is enormous,

The food very good the atmosphere too The only thing I didn't like about that restaurant was seeing a girl being humiliated by her co-workers the girl was redheaded and a Dominican boy I don't understand why they feel superior to the others and the boy was making a lot of noises really those kinds of people shouldn't work in that restaurant who feel superior to the others thank you I hope I never run into those kinds of people again

We pop up in a busy Sunday, the offer a sit side to side/ bar despite they had plenty tables. The restaurant is just beautiful 😻, the atmosphere is great and the food amazing. The bill was 64$ , we paid with 100$ and the waiter asked to keep the change as tip. This was not a nice gesture, however we think is only this particular waiter. We didn’t appreciate the gesture, so we didn’t leave tip. Definitely we will come back and you must visit if your are in NYC.

We ordered the chocolate cake to share among three people. It was delicious and could have shared it with a few more. Not only was it delicious, but absolutely beautiful!

A bit disappointing, and about as French as a trip to McDonalds. The menu is basic American bar with a couple of ersatz "French" dishes such as mussels, which were barely warm. Portions are enormous, but do you really want them? Noisy and crowded. Fine for groups who just want to drink and laugh. Servers were very nice--the food, not so much. This is New York--there are better restaurants. Would be a nice neighborhood place if they stepped up the menu and the cooking.

This is a casual place but the service was top notch and the food servings were very generous. We enjoyed the omelet and the mac and cheese on the lunch box. Very tasty.

My daughter and I had seen this cake on Instagram and we talked about it all weekend well we finally got there at midnight on Saturday or should I say Sunday morning and believe me it didn't disappoint. We sat down and they knew we were there for the cake. It is as big and as tall as it looks online. The waiter was awesome. The cake came out and it was to die for. Moist, not dense, light as a feather and when it came out the people next to us too were in awww!!!! It was delicious. Reasonably priced too. $14 a slice. They have a great dinner menu and the next time we will do dinner and dessert. They are known for their dip sandwiches and they did look delicious along with the couple next to us who had lasagna and the shrimp and chicken dish. This dessert was worth all the calories, Kudo's to the pastry chef!!!! Well done.

The food is very good, and they could accommodate my husband's request to alter an item for brunch (thank you!). Loved the vibe with rock icon photos adorning the walls. But mostly we walked away liking the place so much because of the staff. They are simply the best!

Food was very delicious and presentation was Instagram ready. The Mac and cheese was creamy and yummy. Patty Melt was a large portion and hit the spot.

Great setting, delicious food (though if you’re European share everything with someone else) and fabulous service (special shout out to Heather!) and of course the chocolate cake was great.

My daughter suggested Maison because she and her husband have eaten here on a number of occasions. She choose the place on 80th street because they take reservation. I dropped my wife and daughter off at the resturant and went looking for street parking settling for a nearby garage. The atmosphere was busy noise level was loud but you can easily hold your own conversation. the staff was outstanding never rushing giving advice on items, our water glasses were never empty. The food was great, portions were huge. we started off with mac & cheese with buffalo chicken it feed the 3 of us than an order of toast and chicken for my wife and daughter. I had the French Dip Delux (sirlon of beef, fried & carmelized onions with gruyere fondo ). We shared all and had some to go. I had the 24 layer chocolate cake, most of it to go. Great Sunday brunch with the family I later told my son in law he missed a great meal !!!
24 Layer Cake
I went with a friend for dinner on a Saturday. I had the homemade spinach pappardelle for dinner, it was great, but the best part was the 24 layer chocolate cake. I would go back just for that!!
