Mostly for take-out, there is room for 5-7 people to sit briefly. The staff are moderately interested in what they are doing, and the sushi is OK-just OK.

Came here on a recommendation from a foodie friend. Absolutely love it! Authentic Japanese handrolls. Super delicious, healthy and filling. Great atmosphere too

If you need some quick, reasonably priced sushi rolls, this place does the trick. My eel avocado roll and spicy tuna rolls were nothing particularly special but did the trick when I had a craving. I do give them props for the to-go packaging which was really state-of-the-art.

We loved Maki Maki! I call it your “fast food sushi.” You order the sushi, walk down the customer line while you watch them make it, then you arrive the cashier to pay, and the sushi is done! The prices were very affordable and the sushi was authentic. I grew up in Japan so I am very picky with my sushi. There are a few barstools to seat at the counter, but this is mostly a take-out place. It was fast, efficient, and delicious. This was only a few blocks south from Central Park. I would definitely come back.

My girlfriend ordered a home sushi kit from here for my birthday and not only was the sushi delicious, it was incredibly fun to make! And the provided instructions and video made it very easy to learn. The kit includes everything you need to make sushi. It was amazing! Couldn’t recommend them any more.

Maki Maki rules! The sushi there is soo fresh and it tasted so good. When you walk in there is usually a little line but don't worry because it moves so fast.

Good for a quick bite or to go. Good quality but on the average side. A little bit pricey. Service was OK.

Let's establish that you're going to pay more than your typical $10-$15 midtown lunch at this place. At least you will if you don't eat like a rabbit, and want to enjoy the good stuff. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I went with two of their winter specials which included a yellow tail and a Philly roll. Plus they had uni in stock so that's an automatic must. Their plastic wrap is unique and might take an attempt or two to get the hang of it. Just try your best not to destroy the seaweed. The fish was fresh and the rice was tasty. The soy sauce that they give is the normal sodium one and not the green low sodium. An extra point for ginger that isn't hot pink. This is a great spot for a sushi fix without the need of sitting down for omakase yet better than your normal corner "also serves fried rice" type sushi spot.

Excellent sushi - a useful selection with some specials you don’t often get - very good quality / a perfect place for an evening stop-over - for all jet lagged people looking for something small, yet decent before going back to the hotel - very nice, friendly team

Great sushi! A variety of choices. Japanese beverages available. Efficient and friendly staff. Reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Pretty disappointing. We ordered for takeout one Friday night. Everything was on time, packaged nicely, but there was way too much rice for the amount of fish there was. It reminded me of supermarket sushi. I guess I was just expecting a bit more quality for the price that we paid. Here is everything we ordered: Grilled Salmon Toro cut up roll (belly strip of a salmon fillet, grilled with sea salt, served with crispy lettuce and QP mayo) - tasted more like leftover salmon they had to cook from the previous day before it went bad, than it did salmon toro Bluefin Toro cut up roll (cut of fatty bluefin tuna, shiso leaf and cucumber) - also basic. Did not taste like fatty tuna to me Hamachi Wasabi cut up roll (yellowtail fish, real salted wasabi, avocado and scallion) - I think this was not bad since I wasn't expecting a high quality fish like I was with the other two rolls but just like everything else, it was too much rice We also ordered a few handrolls - the spicy scallop, blue crab, bluefin toro, and one more, which I honestly cannot remember for the life of me. None of them were memorable and they all kind of tasted the same, even though they were all very different proteins. If you're craving good sushi, then this place is not for you.

Can't go wrong with salmon avocado!! Salmon was fresh and tasted fantastic! Not sure what usual portion sizes are like for New York but portion was smaller than I expected. Limited on any cooked fish or meat option. Of course I've had traditional sushi from Japan many times but being in a Western country, there would be other options. No complaints at all, just a heads up for someone like my partner who usually likes cooked tuna or occasionally chicken in her sushi. Sushi made quickly and out in open as shown in the photo. I cropped the chef's head out as he seemed slightly hesitant when I asked if I could take a photo. Would recommend checking it out if it's on the way or nearby but I probably won't go out of my way to look for this place.

The sushi was great. They have many different options available. Sushi was made quickly after ordering. It was easy to take the sushi to go and eat it in the Central park.

Looking for,a quick dinner near our hotel and found MakiMaki. Small storefront on 6th, bright, very clean, maybe room at the window counter for 6 people. Most of the business ismtake out. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rolls are made to order and they have it down pat. Very fast service. Prices seem about right given this is New York. Bothenthenhand rolls (cone shaped) and the ‘cut ups’ (rice on the outside) tased great! We will definitely visit again.

Excellent new addition to the area -- fast, fresh and really delicious sushi. The rice tasted like it was right out of the cooker (I think they have some sort of special machine for this) and the prices are very affordable for a midtown lunch, especially for sushi. The location is right by Central Park and would make an awesome place to grab a picnic lunch for the park (lots of bike rental places right nearby as well). Will definitely return.

I had not seen this place before - owned and run by a young Japanese entrepreneur / sushi maker. The choices are between hand rolll or cut roll (Temaki vs makisushi) and traditional items such as negi-hamachi, tekka, salmon - and also the option to build your own. rice was firm without being overdone - service quick. I grabbed a quick eel and avocado and a negi-toro to take back to the hotel for a breather before a business dinner and it really hit the spot.

We ordered it delivered to our room. It was quick and accurate. Our sushi was incredible. The spicy seafood soup was amazing. My wife loves edimami. We will eat it again before we leave.
Great Sushi, Good Price, Fresh Fish!
Pretty much what it says in the title, waiting 5 mins to watch the rolls be made fresh and cut up in front of me. Beer a little pricey but it is in NY! Will be back!
