After Work Staple

By David B |

Been coming here on numerous occasions so decided to have dinner after working late in the area. Great Bar Staff, food is good, scene is vibrant. Will always be showcasing NY. Teams.

Well worth visiting

Was a bit taken aback by how full the bar section at the front was but they found us a table in the dining area at the back. The waitress was amazing. Putting up with a whole raft of challenging customers with good humour. Our request for one meal and two plates was as nothing compared to the people on the next two tables who were querying everything. We had the burger and fries to share. Quite enough for our uk tummies. The chips were sensational and the burger excellent.

Called to Malones for our 2nd visit while we were over for the New York marathon. Unfortunately Sheila and husband were in Ireland we were told however we had the privilege of seeing Annette and Eoin. Sheila is part of the furniture and is always top class while Eoin was also brilliant and good craic. Thanks guys for amazing food and company, see ye next year

Lovely visit

Very nice, comfortable environment. Chicken pot pie was exceptional. Reasonable beer menu. Would that Bulleit bourbon wasn't featured front row.

Real Pub

My rating is say 4 to 4.5 for a great selection of bears and good pub grub but it gets the full five star treatment for it not being a sport bar! You can actually sit in the section off the far end of the bar area and have conversations with your friends! It is harder to find these pubs. The salmon burger and the regular burger were rated very good, but the chips were excellent. The fish and chips were a bit greasy when brought out but a swipe of a napkin revealed real light and tasty fish. Two different deserts were fine. One person had a German Pilsner, another had a light bear, and one had a tap beer. All were very refreshing but speaking for the Pilsner I never heard Conor before and was excellent, but it raised my curiosity as too others! Again, being to have conversations while eating good pub grub makes for a wonderful evening, particularly in this area where a light meal costs twice as much, at best. To be honest, we get to this area infrequently, but it is agreed we will be coming back….as soon as possible.

Port quality food

Very poor standard of food. Two meals were awful. “Shepherds Pie” had watery mashed potato (presumably packet potato) and small amounts of meat and sauce. Chicken pot had watery sauce with stringy chicken and square of frozen puff pastry on top.

Brilliant.

Fabulous food and service. Good selection of beers at reasonable prices. Food really really good and great choice. Something for everyone.

Amazing Reuben Sandwich

By Wanderlushhhh |

After touring mid-town and walking for hours it was time to get some food and a drink or two. We came across Malone's and even though it was after 10pm we asked if they were still serving dinner which they were thankfully. The bar was lively and fun, and a dining area in the back made it easy to sit down and relax. Two of our party had the Reuben sandwich and I have to say it was easily the best Reuben I have ever had. Piled high with tender meats, cheese and sauerkraut. Just outstanding, others had incredible fish and chips too. The prices were reasonable for NYC too and the service was just excellent - friendly and helpful. If only I had longer in NYC I would be back several times for more Reubens

Loved Malone's Bar

My family and I were staying in Fitzpatrick's Grand Central Hotel, just around the corner on E 44th St., for a week, for a family wedding when we discovered Malone's. It was previously Muldoon's and had literally just re-opened following renovation. I believe we were one of the first customers when we came in for breakfast. Fabulous place! We visited it many times for food & drinks through the week. The staff were really friendly, the food amazing and the atmosphere was great. It's a real New York bar. We will be back in Grand Central Hotel in 2024 for a family occasion and look forward to visiting Malone's again

Great Neighborhood Hangout

Stopped by after leaving work from a hotel in the area. Been meaning to grab a bite each time but the bar was always full. So last night, left work by 10pm, was able to grab food and toss back a few. Great staff…good food, but the guacamole seemed as if it came out of a bag. But the Reuben was awesome. Pint glasses are slightly bigger as well. You will not be disappointed.

A relaxed atmosphere

A quiet spot, great looking bar area and a secluded dining area in the back. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. The service levels too excellent. I would highly recommend this spot for a lovely meal whenn in that area.

Nice place after a hard day’s work

A group of friends met for after office cocktails and this places does not disappoint. Ordered a whisky sour for myself while others had the daiquiri versions. It is a typical Irish bar where they seem to be screening live football and rugby games from time to time.

Loved Malones!

Don’t Walk By It, Stop By For Good Libations And A Meal

By David B |

Visited yesterday for a late dinner after work, this was my umpteenth visit. Great bartenders et al within the establishment. Food is always solid and love the larger pint glasses. Had the beef sliders with accoutrements on top, so yummy. It’s a great after work spot.

Amazing!

Just got back from a girls trip to NYC. We enjoyed our meal and experience so much we went back for a second night. Atmosphere was great, service was friendly and top notch, and the food to say the least was amazing! Highly recommend Malone's and will definitely be going there again on my next trip to NYC!
