My husband and I came here last week and were served by a lovely boy (not sure of his name). We ordered 4 margaritas altogether which came to $60 altogether! Although the food was lovely and we received a complimentary dessert, the whole thing was way too expensive. There was also issues with the lock on the toilet as it didnt work and when I went to use it, a waitress stopped me and opened the door slightly and said that someone was in there?! I am all for tipping if its deserved but when we received our bill, a large tip had automatically been added on top of our very expensive bill! Doubt I would come back here again as we ate at other restaurants in NYC after going here and they were a lot cheaper for the same quality of food.

This is my go-to spot to take visitors for good drinks, great food, and exceptional service. Their guac is delicious and the chips are always fresh. The drinks are well made and always hit the spot. I love their enchiladas in particular, but their burritos are great, too. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The owners are always looking to make sure you have the best experience possible. It's not in a heavily visited area, so there's usually a table available even without a reservation (But I do recommend making one). Mamasita's has never disappointed.

The food was okay, the margaritas are good, but they will treat you as in a tourist trap. They will add the gratuity without asking and a 4 percent charge for using credit card. Go somewhere else.

On the last night of our first trip to Hells Kitchen we stopped into Mamasita for a happy hour cocktail and dinner. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome before you went thru the front door. The cocktails were so strong and tasty, there was SO much variety and the food was amazing, so many choices for both of us as vegetarians plus they dont use any MSG in any of their food! The vegetarian fajitas were full of flavor and the pico was so fresh. We will definitely be coming here the next time we come back to New York, I only wish we discovered it sooner! Thanks to all the staff who made our last night in New York so memorable

The service was the star of this restaurant but a mixed bag or opinions on the food. We started with a blueberry margarita. It was actually very good and refreshing. For food we started with the guacamole and chips. It was very small and had zero flavor. The chips were very thick and didn't have any salt on them. Overall the worst part of the meal. The enchiladas were very good and flavorful. The tacos were also good. The owner/manager not sure which came out and was very friendly. Our waitress was top notch and worked hard as she had the whole restaurant. Our bill was over $120 which wasn't really representative of what we had. Didn't feel like gourmet food for the price, We found better food later in our trip for a lot less.

I normally don't prefer Mexican food due to limited vegetarian menu options. Mamasita has an extensive menu and one full page devoted to vegetarian food. I could not believe we had so much to choose from. We ordered several items - veg tacos, enchiladas, chile verde de vegetable, chips w/guacamole. I have to say that all items tasted really good but the enchilada with brown mole sauce and melted muenster cheese was out of this world. They also have endless varieties of margaritas and the dessert was delicious. The food was so good that I actually want to come back to Mamasita again and have some more of those phenomenal enchiladas the next time we are back in the city. This is the only Mexican restaurant that I liked and can highly recommend it.

We had dinner on Saturday 21st May. After having wings and nachos as a starter, we had the Chef's speciality vegetarian burrito and the mixed meat fajitas as a main meal - the food was excellent. The ambience was relaxed and friendly with the service keen without being obtrusive. Overall, a brilliant experience, thank you!

This Mexican restaurant was on our nearby hotel’s recommended list so we gave it a try. First impressions weren’t good - it is thin and very crowded playing loud music which meant everyone was shouting to be able to hear themselves. They did at least turn the music down when I asked. But there was nothing special about the food. Typical Mexican food but just ordinary. There are better places to eat nearby.

We decided to stop here and give it a try, so happy we did! We were very happy with our meal, the vegetables tasted fresh and crisp and everything was delicious, the owner greeted every table and was very friendly, service was on point, margaritas were good too. We definitely plan to make this a regular go-to spot!

I’m puzzled. $35 for a filet mignonette burrito. Really? And the margaritas are overpriced too. I thought the fact that the restaurant was dirty, with a chipped water glass, and grime covered walls would mean that the food was worth it. My friend’s $28 burrito was far less tasty than what you’d get a couple blocks away for a third of the price at Chipotle. For $30, the steak fajita was a bargain. There are far better Mexican places in Hell’s Kitchen. Avoid Mamacita’s.

Awesome food — must eat in NYC The margaritas are highly unique and very delicious. I would recommend the enchiladas which were divine.

I finally got to enjoy some really delicious Mexican food here. And the Maracuja Margarita was also highly recommended!

We were fortunate enough to visit Mamasita recently, and were happy to meet the owner, who welcomed us personally. The food is great, and for vegetarians, the selection is unbelievable! It helps that the owner himself is a vegetarian. Great place, nice folks, excellent food!

It’s very hard to find Mexican food that is both vegetarian and healthfully prepared. This is the place if you want food that is not cooked in lard or any type of animal fat or MSG. This is truly wonderful Mexican food and as vegetarians we were very pleased with our meals. Worth a visit!

From the time we got there till we left Bina and her husband PK treated us special! We arrived at 4:00 as they had just opened and great time to visit. Small guacamole was perfect for 3. Golden Margaritas and a flavored slushy Marg was extra special no skipping on alcohol and nice size glass not like other places these days. Large portions but what stood out the most to all 3 of us was the refried beans, Not the black beans. PK told us how they are made in a very natural way, I have never had refried beans like this!! Do not miss them. He will also tailor your requests I wanted taquitos he suggested the meat. In the end he gave us a free dessert to share delish. Be advised you will see AUTOGRAT added on since so many people visiting NY from out of the country are not used to tipping. It was approx 18%.

I'm more than surprised how this place can score 4 or 5 stars. We went there last night after looking through Yelp and Tripadvisor and this place DOES NOT DESERVE 2 stars. The chips were stale, the Guac straight out of the fridge and overly spicy under-seasoned, the salsa watered down. My menu had old sticky food on it and the plastic pages were stuck together. The place is dark (I couldn't read the menu without a phone flashlight) and feels dirty (to me). We ordered some 3 Margaritas with Herradura Tequila. Our check was in the $90 range. The owner came to check on us and after we were trying to voice our displeasure about the chips he just said they're gluten free. Whatever that is supposed to mean. We paid and left (without finishing the drinks). There are several Mexican restaurants nearby, "El centro" and "Tacuba" are in walking distance. We walked by El Centro (which was buzzing with action) and went to Tacuba which was full, too, but accomodated us. It was more like "modern Mexican" but delicious AND CLEAN.

This restaurant has been in around for several years, but we've only tried it for the first time during this past summer. There are so many restaurants serving Mexican fare in NYC and not many that please us; this one does. Everything is fresh and well prepared. They also have a wide selection of specialty drinks; that look awesome. The staff is very warm and friendly - making you feel very at home. We have visited three times and in each case have given us a free dessert - including flan and tres leches cake - all delicious. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Meal was really average, and the cost for the food is really high for the average mexican food they got, really dissatisfied

Fabulous food, great food and the atmosphere was brilliant and the service was phenomenal and is well worth the visit .

We spent Cinco de Mayo-eve at Mamasita Bar & Grill and they did not disappoint. Warm, cozy and festive. I read a previous review that "it has the best margaritas in town." Absolutely spot on . . . and SO refreshing. We started our meal with the guacamole, which was fresh and creamy. My husband had king crab tacos that were incredibly tender and flavorful. I had the filet mignon special that absolutely took my breath away. So much flavor and the meat simply melted in my mouth. We also saved room for dessert -- it was difficult to choose, but we settled on the Tres Leche cake -- let's just say, "quality calories!" Can't wait to go back and share this neighborhood gem with friends!

small but inviting restaurant. Staff very friendly. Kind of traditional Mexican food - flavor profiles a bit different on some items than what I am used to having on west coast. Like on the chile verde with pork. Good though. Decent value for NYC.

The staff was very friendly, the food was very fresh and tasty. All together 1A. The bar/restaurant is very cozy and familiarly furnished The staff was very friendly, the food was very fresh and tasty. All together 1A. The bar/restaurant is very cozy and familiarly furnished

Very high quality food, all freshly made, use whole wheat tortilla , lots of vegan choices. This is a small place but it is a gem.

Very friendly service and great food. We asked the owner to surprise us with the food and that was a direct hit!

Went to Mamasita yesterday because of the very positive reviews. The Margaritas were excellent but the food was mediocre at best. Nachos and tacos are simple and uncomplicated items which any Mexican restaurant should excel at. These were tasteless and bland. The beans and rice, which accompanied the tacos, were also flavorless. Serving size was small given the price. We recommend that you have a drink at Mamasita but eat somewhere else.

Late-night gem alert! Stumbled into this family-run Mexican spot and instantly loved it. Margaritas are super fresh, they actually give you free chips + salsa (in Manhattan!!), and the food feels truly homemade. The mole enchiladas were sold out (always a good sign), so I went with beef flautas—crispy, flavorful, perfect. Finished with the house flan, caramelized and dreamy. Definitely coming back to chase that mole!

Superb Mexican spot !! Best in the city !! From the nachos, to the burritos to the service from the brilliant staff, it was a faultless experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food and a great time

Our first night in New York and I don't think we will beat this food, it was amazing. Staff were lovely and atmosphere was great. We will be back

What a place, food was amazing, drinks were amazing, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel like one of the family.

Great margaritas with plenty of flavors and tequilas to choose from. Friendly, attentive staff with tasty salsa and chips aplenty. Worth the walk from Times Square Hotel especially in the snowy winter, great place to warm up. Restaurant is small and cozy.

This was our first experience at Mamasitas. Our experience was mixed. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The food was decent Mexican fare. The food prices were higher than I’ve seen at any Mexican restaurant anywhere in my extensive world travels. The average entree ranges from $25-$35. The biggest disappointment of the evening was that the service was slow and inattentive...I had to request appetizer plates, refills, and other items that should have been provided automatically. I would visit again to see if the bad service was just an off night or if it’s part of the culture of this establishment.

The overwhelmingly positive reviews on TripAdvisor about this little place were absolutely right! We were greeted warmly by the owner and staff, and received excellent service throughout our visit. The chips with salsa and guacamole appetizer ($11) was good, and we appreciated that our server made sure we knew they were an appetizer, not a complimentary offering. I tried one of their famous Margaritas, and the owner was very helpful with guiding me to a selection I would enjoy (frozen, Mango flavored). My chimichanga was crispy, the filling tasty, and the beans and rice that accompanied it were very good. My husband enjoyed a California chicken (burrito, I think)--with spinach...I had a taste, and it was also quite flavorful. The meal was attractively plated. The restaurant is on the small side, so the tables are close together, but the clientele was friendly and we enjoyed the camaraderie. The owner told us that locals make up a large portion of his diners--always a good sign! To cap off our delightful meal, the owner offered us a complimentary dessert for being first-time customers. Mmmm! We will definitely return, and recommend it wholeheartedly for anyone who enjoys good Mexican food.

Visited here with my family tonight. Best meal we’ve had in a long time and in New York. Margaritas are fantastic and amazing ambience. Staff were very lovely.

Amazing food and margaritas! Met the owner who started the business 40 years ago with his chef co-owner. They also do a lot to help out those less fortunate in their neighborhood.

Went along to this so called Mexican restaurant without going through all the reviews properly… Bad mistake! Ordered drinks and were being asked repeatedly to order food, ok no probs, we ordered. Food was very bland, nowhere near to the type of food we regularly have at Mexican restaurants. Had to use sauces to make it taste better. Fajitas were very dry, no passion at all for serving decent food. OH, you’ll be charged a whopping 20% Service charge followed by a 4% charge for paying by CC.

The service was great, margaritas were fabulous and the owner was a very nice gentleman who made us feel welcome.will be going back again!

We just arrived in NYC and found Mamasitas on TripAdvisor. Enjoyed a really good meal - freshly cooked and generous portions. Loved the salsa and guacamole. Bonus was that before 7pm it was happy hour and the mango Marguerita was really refreshing on a hot and humid day. Was hard to choose a flavor from the 20+ on offer!

Healthy Mexican food in NYC. My wife had taco salad and I had the bean burrito. Fresh salsa and chips. And a free dessert.

Great place to have Excellent Mexican food at a decent price. Excellent selection of Margaritas, that are made well with good quality tequila. Great selection on the menu and superb food. Not to mention this is an excellent place for vegetarians. Service is outstanding and the ambience is lively. The owner and host are very hospitable and made sure our expectations were met Bottom line. Highly recommended, will be doing back the next time we are in NYC.

Great spot to get food. We had dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate. They offer Jain on top of vegetarian options and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Amazing Margaritas, exceptional Guacamole and ambiance to boot made this a fantastic dining experience enjoyed by all the family I would highly recommend a visit here during any trip to NYC Something for everyone on the extensive menu.

Delicious, truly authentic and very kind staff. We tried different dishes and margaritas. Recommended and we will be back!

Mamasita Bar and Grill had some great guacamole, the rest of the food was good.. It’s a family run restaurant and the owners were very sweet and attentive to us.

We went to this restaurant based on other trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed! The food was fantastic! The flan is the best we have ever had! Even better, the family owned restaurant had great service and the staff, including the owner, went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely go back the next time we are in NYC.

I went to the Mamasita Mexican restaurant on 10th Avenue this evening with my family. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked in the restaurant. The food was top class as were the staff. The restaurant had a great varied menu to choose from and the food arrived at our table in a timely fashion. I would recommend Mamasita to anyone wishing to eat at a quality authentic Mexican restaurant.

I came in here for lunch after spotting it while walking by. The staff were really nice and attentive. I ordered the supreme nachos with beef. They arrived about 5 minutes later and were some of the nicest I've ever had. They had proper melted cheese and loads of it- not that awful cheese sauce that other places serve. Price was very reasonable too. Thanks guys!

Amazing experience for dinner - really friendly and welcoming service. Good was brilliant with both vegetarian (important for two in our group) and other options that are delicious. Helped with dairy free choice as well

Very nice service. Not super fast, but friendly and steady. I had the spicy quesadilla and a Margarita on the side. The guy bringing the food and water was so nice.

I went tonight for the first time, after finding it online, looking for a good pre-theater dinner place near Studio 54. The food was very tasty, including the guacamole and chips we had to start (there's a really huge menu to choose from, including LOT of vegetarian options that sounded delicious), the drinks were yummy, and the staff were friendly. We got our food quickly and even got a complimentary dessert (tres leches cake, we think!) to share. Definitely would go again.

Originally being from the American South and now living abroad - I'm constantly looking for good Tex-Mex when I'm back in the states. Mamasita's had all the marks of a good Mexican restaurant (neon beer signs in the windows and margarita happy hour specials) and it didn't disappoint. The tacos were lovely and the Margaritas were tasty (and a little strong). If you're looking for a tex-mex style restaurant in NYC, you should consider this place.

We love Mamasita's!! It was our fist time there this weekend, and it did not disappoint. Food was great, all 4 of us enjoyed our food which included Enchiladas, Chimichangas, and Burritos. Service was great, and orders where served timely; dinner was reasonably priced. Friendly atmosphere, and the owner stopped by several times for pleasant conversation. Too full for desert, but the owner gave us a piece of their delicious Tres Leche cake on the house. Oh and did I say the Ultimate Margarita was top notch. We will be back.

Food is ok coming from a person who lives in the South West. I got chips and salsa, small guacamole, 2 margaritas (well tequila, no high end stuff), Fajita trio....$117 bill. I have no problem spending money on good food, especially when I have an expense account. But for $117, I could have gone to Ruth Chris or Smith and Wollenskys and got double the portions. Staff was nice, atmosphere was fun. Its the high prices for the small portions that stick out.

Very nice evening, with charming and personal service. The food was very tasty and the margaritas were delicious! We will be back soon

We popped in here for a bite to eat midweek before heading to Broadway. It was quiet, but staff were attentive and friendly - keen to hear where we were from and what we had been doing in New York Margaritas were a great way to start and set us up for the evening. Food was very fresh and tasty, with extra nachos and a sweet on the house. We felt the specials were a bit pricy, but there was plenty to choose from on the extensive menu. Freshest salsa we have ever tasted!!

Cosy Mexican restaurant with friendly staff. Has a great selection of Margaritas & generous portions. Bonus points for the good choice of vegetarian options, which can optionally be vegan.

It's a great little space, and we had excellent service. The food was very good and had a nice selection of margaritas.

Excellent no words to describe the Best Margaritas, fajitas and chimichanga Happy hour noon to eight m-f Love it

The food is nice, but beware of the 20% automatic gratuity AND 4% credit card fee that comes on top. The waitress defended this by saying this is quite common in NY restaurants, but honestly I do not agree and consider it overcharging.

We visited Mamasita's based on convenience to our hotel and generally strong reviews. And long story short our Margarita was fantastic and the Chimichanga was good, but the price was outrageous. I know this is New York City, but I don't think three run-of-the-mill burritos, two beers, a fountain drink and a desert deserve a $115 bill. That's before tip. Frankly, you can get something similar at Chipotle or Qdoba for a fraction of the cost. My wife and I ordered the California Burrito and were disappointed, but that's actually our fault because we didn't read the menu closely enough. So that's legit our bad. However, I will say that the menu was huge and took a long time to get through ... so much so that I settled on the first thing I saw when the server asked. Bottom line, Mamasita was an overall disappointment, but mainly because of how overpriced it was. The food was acceptably good. The atmosphere was dark, but, whatever. So yeah, like the headline says: Meh.

Great spot for margaritas and Mexican food... great variety and selections... too bad they close at 11pm sharp... sometime even earlier... location on 55th and 10th ave is away from the flow of people, so most people will not find this unless they knew about it or are from the neighborhood

Amazing range of margaritas! Great service and our chimichanga was delicious. Sweet servers & authentically Mexican.

This place was a good find - Big portion size, great food, friendly staff and not expensive. Very impressive Margherita menu was most welcome too!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and with good reason. It’s small, but menu is expensive, including an entire page of vegetarian selections. This place uses no animal fat or lard. Margaritas are top-notch. Service is attentive but not obtrusive. The owner stopped by twice and gave us a complimentary dessert that was to die for. Go!

Visited on a Friday night about 6. It's a small place but cozy and friendly We were greeted at the door by the owner and escorted to our table. We received complimentary chips and salsa X 2 almost immediately and asked for our drink order Happy hour is until 8 so I received a little price break on the margarita. Margarita was excellent . I hate when I order a margarita and all I taste is mixer. I definitely tasted the tequila in this one but not overpowering. I really wanted a 2nd one but we were going to a show We were up at 5:30 to go to Good Morning America and I didn't want to fall asleep at the show. Two of us ordered the chimichanga with crabmeat, shrimp, scallops, and swordfish One ordered the chimichanga with just crabmeat. Another a chicken chimichanga All came with a small salad, rice, beans , guacamole and sour cream. I have nothing bad to say. Our order came fast. Everything was correct and hot. The food was excellent. Large amounts of seafood and chicken in the chimichanga Very tasty The service was friendly The owner came over to chat with us and offered us a free dessert. What a nice gesture. I have nothing bad to say and would definitely eat here again This place is a hidden treasure not to be missed

Fantastic food and service. The managers were very attentive and treated us like family. Great experience. Loved everything about Mamasitas

Good food, wonderful margaritas, and the owner was very friendly!! Small family owned restaurant - planning on going back again during our 4 day trip!

Went to this restaurant right in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic as restaurants have been reopening. The food is extraordinarily delicious. It's authentic Mexican and just the right spicy. This was one of the best Mexican foods we have had in a long long time. We are vegetarians and Mamasita has a lot of vegetarian choices. We ordered Chips, Guacamole and Salsa and both the Guacamole and Salsa were phenomenal. Then we ordered Quesadillas - spicy veggie Q's and then Veggie Enchiladas and both of them were so tasty. We also ordered Margaritas and my wife spilled a bit Andy PK brought us another glass. PK has winning ways and is an extremely personable restaurateur. Would highly recommend Mamasita for a discerning audience. Great job, PK. Keep it up.

So the margaritas are FANTASTIC! There are a ton of flavors to choose from and they are very strong. The food was okay- portions were smaller than anticipated. The app sizes are super small not really big enough to split. It’s a good time, a bit pricey for what you are getting but honestly not a bad place for dinner and drinks.

We stumbled across this place one night and it was the best find during our trip! Food tasted fantastic and was incredibly fresh. Service and atmosphere was fab and the margarita range is something to be experienced for sure!! Will defo visit again on our next trip to NYC 👍

Some of our family members needed a Mexican food fix and chose Mamasita's/ It is is an intimate setting with attentive service. They clearly cater to families with young children. Service was good. Everybody

Fabulous food, great value and amazing service. If you are looking for amazing Mexican food in NYC then look no further.

Prakash and his family were so lovely to us on our visit. It was my parents’ first Mexican meal and they talked us through the whole menu. Some of the best guacamole I’ve ever had.The tres leches was UNBELIEVABLE.

A group of us visited here and were very well taken care of! The service was excellent and the food and drinks were fresh and very tasty! The shrimp cocktail was loaded with shrimp in a spicy salsa type sauce topped with fresh avocado slices.. yummy! The amount and quality of food was well worth the price!

The best thing about this restaurant is their attentiveness! We had a large group and ate in their outdoor "bubble" and the staff was very good about taking our orders without getting anything mixed up, serving the food quickly, and checking back often to make sure we had what we needed. The manager even came out to chat with us and explained that it was a family-run business and that the chef had been there for decades. The food was OK -- not super memorable but pretty good. I had the vegetable chilaquiles.

We went before going for a play. I’m glad we reserved a table coz the place was packed. The service was quick and pleasant. I loved the nachos. They have a lot of vegetarian options which was great as I’m a vegetarian. The crab chimichanga was delicious. The veggie enchilada was good with lots of veggies. I would have liked more traditional style with beans in it. Portions were generous. The flan was good but super sweet.

Good food, great selection of tequila. My wife ordered a mojito and liked it. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and forgot to ask for an upgrade on the tequila. It came and had no salt on the rim of the glass. It was just ok. Good for vegetarians like myself. Chile relleno con queso.

Had a fantastic Christmas Eve at Mamasita. The hosts were lovely, there is a wide choice of food, which was so tasty and fresh. Would definitely recommend. We had fajitas, burritos and enchiladas, and the guacamole starter is excellent too. Will be back!

Food is great. Margaritas off the charts. Vibe is great. We were here for my dad’s birthday and he could not stop talking about how great the margaritas and the shrimp were. Definitely we’ll be back.

Recommendation from NYC tourist groups on Facebook by many locals as serving tasty authentic Mexican food. We visited on a Sunday evening and received a lovely warm welcome from the owner. The food was THE BEST Mexican we've had. Even down to the guacamole and salsa which was all freshly made and the edible tortilla bowl. House margarita was also amazing and you can choose all different sizes. The restaurant also has a real cosy vibe with very friendly staff and was even given a soft toy when we left as a leaving NYC present. Really recommend this place rather than the usual chain restaurants found around the city.

We came across this restaurant during a family trip to New York. There were some good and bad things that I came across. I will start with the good, since I prefer to be as positive as possible in locally owned establishments. Good: 2. Food was good. We got fajitas, tacos, queso and guacamole. It was all very fresh. 3. The menu had a wide variety of drinks and food to choose from. There is an option for everyone. 4. Drinks were cold and margaritas had several options. Cons; 1. It was hot inside the restaurant. Walking several blocks in August. You are expecting a moment to cool down before eating mexican food. 2. They charge 20% gratituity to everyone. There were only 3 in our party. 3. If you want to pay with a credit card, they charge a 4% fee. Legally they should only be charging 3%, since that is what they are charged from the credit card companies. They also accept Venmo, but have “Friends and Family” hard locked, in order to avoid taxes. 4. The waiter told me they didn’t have queso, so we ordered guacamole. When I looked on the menu, I saw that they had queso, so I asked again. Ironically they then had it available the 2nd request. 5. One of the women who appeared to be an owner or manager was sitting beside us had a very unusual transaction. Man walks in and hands her cash. She gives him 2 drivers licenses and walks to the back. Just an observation.

Visited with my family (including 1 Coeliac) delicious food, lots of GF choices. Fab Margaritas and great service, can’t fault it.

Nice little Mexican restaurant, very good Margarita. On the other hand, the bill will be increased by 20% (tip, it is specified in the menu) and by 4% if you pay with a credit card. Too bad, it's obviously a tourist scam

The food and atmosphere in this environment is absolutely amazing! Good and drinks are a 10/10 staff was so helpful and friendly ! The place feels like home I highly recommend! You want good food drinks and good vibes this is the place’

We ate off the lunch menu and our tab was $38 before tip and we drank water. NYC tap water is better than some bottled water. Anyway, back to the food, there are many vegetarian options on the menu. The food was good as was the quantity. As a matter of fact, I think the portions could be a little smaller. From the looks of things Mamasita has the potential to be an enjoyable night spot. Maybe we'll try that one night after work.

Small and simple restaurant with tasty Mexican food. Loved the frozen Margarita. The portions were relatively small and the rice and beans mediocre, but the stuffed peppers and enchiladas were very tasty. The flan and tres leches cake were mediocre too. Food was fresh.Good drinks.

We decided to try this place because it served gluten free food. We had to walk through a heavy downpour to get there. It was Sunday evening, May 5. Being from England we did not realise the significance of the date. The place was packed. But the staff were lovely and soon found us a space. Our waitress couldn’t have been any nicer and made us feel at home. The food was delicious and we left stuffed and happy. Or perhaps that was due to the delicious mango margarita they served us at the end of our meal. A truly memorable night! Happy convo de mayo!

That's what I call family business with heart ♥️. Wonderful food, great margaritas, very nice and friendly owners! We spent 3 days at Mamasita's during our 5 day stay in New York. Thank you for the lovely time

I took the guacamole omelette. One of the most delicious omelettes I have ever had in the last years. The service was good and efficient. It was a value for money. Recommend wholeheartedly.

We were looking for something authentic & NY local & came across this wee gem … Food was great & staff couldn’t have been more helpful … Friendly atmosphere & a great experience overall 🏴🇲🇽

Its most expensive and disgusting tacos al carbon that i tried. $23.00 for just peppers and onion. Rice was not fresh and steak really greasy.

I’ve dined here twice, last time two days ago with a group. The service was fast and attentive. They have a very large vegetarian menu as well as meat, chicken and fish dishes, excellent margaritas and tequilas and great guacamole. Lots of restaurants have cut back their menus for Covid. Not this one. Their chicken entree is outstanding. Prices are moderate for the Hells Kitchen district.

Walked in with a table for 5 and were seated within 5 min. The margaritas were delicious and the service was really good - the team were really on top of all the tables and anything that you needed. The food was really tasty. We started with chips and guac - really good and two of us had fajitas - came out sizzling to the table. Everyone enjoyed and I would defo come here again. Great if you have parties as well.

I made a reservation for 7PM on a Saturday night for a party of 6, celebrating a special occasion (Gay bachelor party!). We arrived and everything was going well as we were promptly seated and orders for drinks and food taken. However, the two tables next to us that were seated well after us got their food before us. At this point, it has already been 45min since we ordered and were not checked in on by our server. I went up to the front to ask is there any reason other tables were receiving their plates and not us. I was told by the server that we ate our food already (???) though I feel our entire appetizer order went to another table next to us, who just ate it with no problem (coincidence they got the same as us I guess?) Anyways, the entrees come and still no appetizers. At this point our server seems to be avoiding us and has not done anything to rectify the situation. And the final nail in the coffin for me was the 20% automatic tip + 4% credit card fee. The entire situation really put a damper on our celebration at this place, where we entered excited and left greatly disappointed.

Taken here by some locals whilst in family visit. proved to be an excellent choice. Great selection of dishes on a massive menu. Owner very welcoming and helpful - made good recommendations. Lots of veggie options too. Great night.

From the get go this was a great experience. The food was excellent, the staff friendly, attentive and prompt, and the food was tasty and well presented. I had a tasty appetiser followed by the chimichanga. Thoroughly recommended.

We had our wedding meal here in May and the food was gorgeous. The staff were incredibly attentive and really cared about us. They even gave us free dessert and a glass of champagne! I would recommend this place to anyone - the menu is huge! I particularly liked the disco ball that popped down when it was someone's birthday!

Vegetarians must visit. They have a long vegetarian menu and the food is really nice. We called for a combo (burrito and enchillads) and loved it. The owner was too kind and offered and free dessert too.

We were in town fot a show and wanted a local, non chain place with great food. Robett at the Fairfield Suites agt Central Ppark said Mamasitas! So glad he did. The specials were beyond that. The margaritas were superb. The staff, the owner made sure were knew we wrre important to them. Don't miss this jewel.

We were in the city to see a show and wanted to find the best Mexican food we could to have for dinner...and we found it! We loved the food, service and ambiance. It wasn't noisy like so many other restaurants and could actually enjoy conversation. The service was prompt and courteous, and the food was extremely fresh and delicious. The homemade quacomole was terrific, and I loved my fajitas. My wife had chimichanga which she enjoyed immensely. Our friends had enchiladas and were very happy with the meal. PK, the owner, was warm and friendly, making sure we were happy at all times, and made it clear that he appreciated our patronage. Mamacita's is now our only go-to for Mexican while in NY.

Amazing Mexican food! This family owned restaurant is authentic and very good. It is also gluten free friendly for those with celiac. The margaritas were out of this world!

This is absolutely the best Mexican food in NYC! Large portions and great service. The food had so much flavor and the owner will edify the meal to your liking. Came here on a Sunday night after a long day at work. The staff and owner were so warm- I did not want leave. Definitely one of my top favorite restaurants in NYC!

We had a reservation and were warmly greeted by hostess and then owner. The food was delicious and the margaritas was excellent. They checked in often to ensure we had ample chips and salsa and water and were happy with our meal. Would recommend to a friend.

I ordered enchiladas and my daughter got a beef taco and enchilada. Chips and salsa was complimentary and the salsa was out of this world good. The guacamole was just average, not worth the price. Their service is great; they were very attentive to our needs. They also gave a complimentary piece of tres leches cake at the end of the meal for us to share. The only negative is the restaurant space is very small. The servers had to reach over us to get to the table next to us and we had little elbow room.

We come here each time we are in NY on business. Varied menu, great margaritas, great service, food is always very good.

We stopped for lunch, what a great decision! What an amazing experience. Service was exceptional! Family owned and operated. Really I can’t wait to return and try more great food. I actually wanted to hug the staff. Absolutely worth checking it out again and again!

I've lived in NYC for 20 years and for some reason this is the first time that I have visited this restaurant. Big Mistake. The food was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were all fresh. The salsa for the chips was great and the jalapeno poppers didn't come out of a bag. I had the Pork Chile Verde. It is a great choice for any meal and an added bonus is that my dinner mate was a vegetarian and there were a lot of choices for him too.

The waiter (I think he owns the place) was really great... jokes for the kids, helpful when ordering and just a likable guy. But the food was below average. Too many things on the plate - not elegant presented and most dishes tasting the same. We enjoyed the frozen margarita.

Four of us ate here for dinner yesterday. This is a smaller simple restaurant with very pleasant waiters. Their menu was very extensive and yet all we had was quite good – margaritas, guacamole (freshly made) and salsa (spicy as in Mexico), burritos, enchiladas and salads, etc. One thing I especially appreciated is that I know all the food we ordered was truly vegetarian. Often in Mexican restaurants, they use chicken stock (caldo de pollo) in the rice, pork fat in the beans, etc. without saying so. This time I spoke with the owner and learned that, unlike everyone else working in the restaurant, he is a strict Indian vegetarian himself and everything listed as veggie truly was so. This is a real nice lower-to-mid priced option for dinner - we'll return.

Fancied a Mexican on our weekend break and booked Mamasita. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, staff were exceptionally friendly (especially the waitress and her margarita recommendation - it tasted amazing). Food was excellent very authentic and very reasonably priced. The place is small and had a great atmosphere I would def recommend and will return when back in NYC.

We don't get authentic Mexican in Australia, so I think this is as close as we will get before Mexico. The mole poblano was one of the best tasting dishes I have eaten. Just fabulous

Great staff, food was average and probably overpriced but, thought on par for Manhattan. The problem was the owner paid too much attention to my 8 year old. Making her uncomfortable by touching her hair and feeding her a free dessert by spoon. Once but weird. When we left he asked to take a picture with her. I said "no". II am not sure of his intentions, and I'd like to think he had only good intentions but our party of 7 all felt creeped out by his behaviour and he needs to check himself.

Absolutely delicious. We went for my birthday as really wanted nice Mexican food. The huge vegetarian menu was what made this stand out for me. It is a small restaurant but the food was so tasty. Fresh guacamole and salsa was wonderful. The food itself was delightful. Great service. Would highly recommend and will return if I come back to NY

We are huge fans of Mexican food and this definitely did not disappoint! We started with guacamole and some margaritas and knew from the first tastes we had found a gem! We shared 3 plates for the four of us and we had tons of food! Both the chicken and steak fajitas were delicious! P.K. the owner sat down with us at our table - highlight of the night! They sent dessert to our table - sweet surprise and, again, delicious. Highly recommend this place whenever you are in NYC!

When I spend $150 on two people in a restaurant I hope to get more than an average burrito, a tiny quesadilla, and a few margaritas in a diner quality atmosphere. Nothing was bad but it certainly wasn't exceptional. Even in this neighborhood where prices are becoming out of control, the meals was worth less than half of what we paid.

Now what this place lacks in presentation it makes up 10 fold in quality and price. 2 lunch specials both under $11 bucks. Fresh and delicious. Just don't fill up on the free chips and salsa. FYI best salsa I've had in a while. Happy hour drinks run from noon till 8pm. No kidding. $5 beer and wine $3 shots on house tequila. My second time here won't be my last. Now if I could only stand up!

Really very kind and thoughtful. We ate very well. Everything delicious. Very particular and authentic flavours

We found this bar and grill whilst taking a walk around the city we dropped on the happy hour so enjoyed a sangria and corona for $5/7 We ate the chicken wings and quesadillas with the chimichanga The flavours were amazing and the staff so attentive and welcoming Cannot recommend them enough We were welcomed at the door and got the royal treatment A great find in the city for some tasty Mexican food They also have over 25 margarita flavours!!!!

Fabulous. Couldn't fault. Would love to return! Best guacamole I have ever ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of guacamole in my time!)

Relaxed and very informal setting. Better than average Tex-Mex, with a few vegan options. Excellent service. And they make their own outstanding hot sauce.

Located Mamasita through TripAdvisor on our arrival to NYC. My kids wanted Mexican and they were conveniently located within a short walk. Had to wait for a table for a few minutes - it was 7pm on a Thursday. The place is not big, maybe a dozen tables and the bar, but turns around parties at an impressive speed. Were served drinks with warm tortilla chips and salsa (including chips refill). I ordered a Happy Hour 12 oz frozen Margarita which was very good. We also ordered Nachos with cheese and condiments (no meat) - a large portion that already filled us! For dinner my son had a chicken salad and I had a Mexican chicken soup. Both were good and large portions. It's very loud at Mamasita. Not the place to go if you are looking for a nice dinner conversation. But the service is attentive & fast and the owner takes time to speak with the guests. Giving the 4th point for them serving a free dessert cake for my daughter who was full from the Nachos and did not want a dinner of her own! Overall very good price / quality & service ratio.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Excellent food, authentic and friendly. I will certainly recommend this to anyone for great food and great margaritas. No price tags just fair, surprised by the final bill so happy. You. Annoy missed whilst visits NYC.

Great margs and dinner, came with friends. Will come again. Had an awesome time and left full and buzzed

We enjoyed our dinner. Good service, tasty food. Not a bargain, but that is Manhattan. Not all the tables were full, but there were too many people at the large tables and all the tables were too close together. Hard to get in and out and no privacy for a conversation. Well managed and friendly so it is worth another visit.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent choice of dishes and excellent use of raw materials. Stratospheric Burritos. Recommended

We have been here before. The guac and salsa is the best. The food is always tasty. We had tacos and quesadillas and enchiladas and all were superior. And the margaritas are over the top. The owner is the best and remembered us from last year. We will be back.

Went with 6 people and 3 had eaten dinner and the other 3 of us just popped in for a drink. The bill came and it was all on one, we asked for separate as some people had to expense meals for a work trip and the server refused to split it. It was all very unnecessary and I wouldn’t go back which is too bad because the food was decent.

One of the best Mexican food I eaten. Services were so nice, food is fresh and taste homead. Even the water taste great :) Recommending the chef's spacial borito.

We were charged $35 for a screwdriver which contains 1 ounce of vodka and maybe 2 ounces of orange juice and we also got a club soda water and it cost us $35. The owner didn’t even ring it in. He just looked at our drink and said that will be $35 after he Told us how amazing his restaurant is and how amazing his food is which it probably was but we have been to several find dining restaurants since that day and I have never paid $35 for 1 ounce of vodka and 2 ounces of orange juice, even in New York City we will never go there again simply because he ripped us off and we don’t appreciate it being ripped off !!!

This has got to be the worst Mexican food we've attempted to eat. I'm from Florida and with the amount of Mexicans with authentic Mexican Restaurants we've frequented, we know what real Mexican food taste like, and this isn't it. I'm completely baffled by the great reviews because that's the reason why we came to this restaurant. Do your palate a favor and eat elsewhere.

Small, crowded & off the beaten track. Margaritas were very good. The food was good if not a little eclectic. Not your typical Mexican. Plenty of healthy veggies in your food.

Fantastic- especially the chicken. Service was wonderful! Quiet and friendly place, lunch special very reasonable prices.

I specifically searched for Chimichangas in NYC. I can say this was one of the best I have ever had. Complete bonus that the owner and wider and daughters weee all working and present and providing an outstanding service at a very reasonable price. I loved the fabulous food and the whole vibe.

Excellent authentic Mexican food with great service. Loved their chicken tacos, margaritas, and the guacamole. It is truly a hidden gem.

Had a nice time at this restaurant. The staff is all family and you can tell they work hard to please their patrons. The owner stopped by our table several times to let us know how much we were appreciated, and that is a nice special touch. Great drink menu with MANY fun margarita options. Food was tasty and we very much enjoyed our time here. Would definitely return.

Friendliest restaurant we have been to in NYC. The salsa and entrees were delicious. From the time we walked into the door until the time we left we felt like we were valued customers. We will be back!!!

We found this place via trip advisor and it was near our hotel, thankfully a nice walk away from Times Square. The staff were pleasant but seemed miserable. There were no other diners seated at the tables except for us. Instead, there were about 5 people seated at the bar, presumably on lunch break, who thought it would be a good idea to discuss what drugs they were doing and who had been in jail! An interesting clientele! The food was average but not unpleasant. The margaritas were generous and delicious!

The food was great with great service. they have an extensive menu with interesting specials and a brunch menu on Sunday.

Amazing choice of Margaritas, delicious food and great recommendations from our host PK. Very welcoming atmosphere. We really enjoyed our first night in New York.

We had a very pleasant evening at Mamasita. We started off with a couple Negra Modelos, chips & salsa. We followed that with classic margaritas, chicken enchiladas with green mole plus chicken tacos. Rice & beans accompanied both dishes. The lighting level is medium high, the music veers towards Bad Bunny & the walls are bright & colourful. The dishes were flavourful and well prepared. We chatted with the owner P.K. who tells us that he has been in Hells Kitchen for 20+ years. Service throughout our meal by Daniela was charming & attentive. She makes a great marg !

Had dinner with friends. The margaritas were perfect, the food was delicious and the service excellent.

Perhaps we went on an off day, where there weren't too many people there. The few people there were just drinking at the bar, so right off the bat I was worried about the food. The food was pretty good. My fajhitas were nice.

Food was fresh and delicious. Homemade chips, salsa and guac. Margaritas were tasty. Large menu. Didn't see the entree that we wanted and the owner and chef made it special for us. Cameron was attentive! Will return next time we're in the city.

we went to mamasitas on a sunday night for a evening treat. Great food, great service and great vybes. love the margaritas

High prices for a meal of questionable quality. They force you to tip 20%. Local a little dirty. $71 for a burrito and a margarita. The fast food burrito is better.

Great restaurant and the food and Margaritas were the best I've had. Our server was denika and she was great! Also in a great area to walk around and bar hop

Both the food and service were excellent. Margaritas were terrific. The Chips, Salsa and Guacamole were a great appetizer. The Chicken Mole and Steak Chili Verde was delicious. Food came quickly and the waiter was very attentive. Will definitely plan to return.

For the prices, not worth it. They messed up my appetizer order twice, I sent it back. Waitress still tried to charge me for it till I told her I wasn't paying for it did she take it off bill. Nachos were soggy. No draft beer, margaritas way over priced. First and last time eating here.

After coming from having a drink at another restaurant that had absolutely no heaters outside for their tables, we decided we needed to find a place that was warm. I skimmed my IG feed and see an ad for Mamacita. The drinks and food looked great so I commented if i was able to get a warm seat and a warm meal there with my girlfriend’s and someone replied YES! When we arrive we are sat down at a nice big table for the 3 of us, inside nice and warm. Our drinks were delicious, they have an extensive margarita menu which I liked with many flavors even an option to pick you tequila. We ordered a sampler as an appetizer that had a little bit of everything that was soooo good. It was perfect to split between us 3. We quickly learned that the place is owned by a lovely couple who are very hospitable (they were there that night talking with the restaurant guest) and the bar is ran by their daughter who makes really good drinks! They made us feel at home, it was nice to have the owner’s come out to say hello and even offered us a round of shots. Really kind people with great food, great drinks and even better service. I told him Im coming back with my family!!

I had the Salmon with Rice/Beans. The strip of Salmon was a nice size and it was good along with the rice and beans. This wouldn't be my top choice for mexican in hells kitchen but it isn't bad. Their service and staff was excellent, very friendly and very professional.

Nice place to have Mexican food. All the dishes are great. Friendly waiters. Great drinks. Great location.

Great place for margaritas, awesome seafood enchilada, best I've ever had. I asked the owner to open a place up in Atlanta. I wanted the Chocolate margarita recipe. Forgot to ask to take back with us. 😏

I have never been at a restaurant where one is treated that way. We had reservations for 8:30pm and arrived at 8:15pm. Waited for 45 minutes while the short guy kept sitting other people. When we were finally asked to seat, they wanted 6 of us to squeeze on a table for 4. And he gave another part that came after us regular table with more space. When we asked if they can add 2 other tables that were available, the guy and waitress said no and that we needed to fit in that one and that they didn’t care. This is ridiculous Many other people were complaining about the wait time and lack of courtesy of the host and staff. Horrible. Would not recommend The food looks good however the hassle with the staff is not necessary

Had a visit to this restaurant and was very impressed. The owner/manager greeted us personally and directed us to our table. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the little touches such as the complimentary desert just made it special. Would recommend anyone eat there.

I came here for dinner during a trip through Latin America and the United States. This restaurant really stuck in my mind. The traditional Mexican food served here is of high quality. It is cooked with love. You can tell. Each single dish was so tasty. I remember eating a chicken soup with chipotle and lemon/lime among other delicious dishes. The flavors were really something else. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is relaxing and warm, and I remember very friendly staff. This was a great experience. I keep thinking about it. Really recommend.

Stopped here with a party of 9. Accommodated us easily and sat us quickly. It's no lie about the margaritas, they are incredible. The food was delicious and the service was great. Met the owner his wife and his daughter, who made sure everything was perfect. The world needs more places like this. Go here!

Lovely family owned restaurant with very decent food. Our waitress was very good and the atmosphere is quite enjoyable. Our only complaint was that we were warned about a 4% surcharge if a credit card was used to pay ( no biggie. We have seen that somewhere else) . We were not told that a 20% autogratuity was added....and our bad, we did not see it on the bill. We were going to give a 20% tip but we find it VERY presomptous to add it automatically. As it is, they had a huge tip ( over 40%). Lesson learned. We still recommend the place. Just check your bill carefully.

The best Mexican food in the city. PK Is an amazing host who made us all feel so welcomed and loved, if your looking for amazing tacos and the best frozen margaritas of your life it’s a must try!!!

Danika and ALL OF THF STAFF were amazing!!! The margaritas were spectacular and the food was very authentic!! The place is small but you can tell that a lot of regulars keep coming back for the excellent food and drinks!!!

We have eaten at this restaurant about 4 times now and it has become our favorite mexican restaurant. We have taken family and friends as well. Every time we visit nyc we always make sure we eat at Mamasitas or at their other restaurant called El Nedito which is a smaller place but equally as good. The owner(PK) and his two daughters are very friendly and have even complemented us with a taste of their delicious flan. Make sure you check out Mamasitas or El Nedito the next time you visit nyc.The margaritas are great!

Great Mexican restaurant we stumbled upon. The enchiladas were great, food portions were large and the drinks were strong. Happy customers here!

We took a chance and ate at the Mexican restaurant....Mamasita's. We had no regrets. Food was delicious and authentic. Loved the Queso and Chips. Service was outstanding. Would definitely recommend the restaurant!

Tried out the restaurant before going to a taping at The Daily Show studios, it is very close by. The food was wonderful with lots of flavor, the margaritas were excellent, and the service was exceptional. Will definitely be back to try other menu options. They also have an incredible vegetarian selection.

I’ve eaten here several times ... it’s really good Mexican and fast service. I had the beef chili rellenos and my friend has chicken enchiladas. Served with salad, rice and refried beans, both main courses were delicious. A margarita in the rocks was a perfect accompaniment. Not a fancy place but if you want good old fashioned Mexican food, this is the place.

Four of us stopped by for dinner tonight. We were warmly welcomed from the minute we entered. The owner himself came by after we were seated to help answer any questions we might have. The menu is comprehensive and there are lots of choices, including vegetarian options. We started with some guacamole - lots of avocado, nice and chunky, very fresh. The owner recommended a chicken and vegetable chimichanga for me, which was delicious. Plenty of food, but nothing heavy or drowning in cheese. The seasoning was exactly what I had asked for. My companions all enjoyed their dishes as well. No chemicals, no msg, not loaded with salt or cheese, just good, fresh flavors. I also tried one of their margaritas - nice balance of flavors, very fresh. If you're picky about your margaritas, they have 25 flavors to choose from. For dessert, the manager brought us a complimentary flan. I've tasted a lot of flan, and this was one of the best. Creamy and delicious. If you can, save room for dessert. All in all, a wonderful dinner - welcoming atmosphere, good service and delicious food. I am looking forward to returning on my next trip to NYC. Thanks, Mamasita, for a memorable dinner!
Hidden gem!
Friendly service! Owner introduced himself. He prides himself on his vegetarian options, which were fantastic!! Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of chicken, beef and seafood options, but it’s unusual to find so many vegetarian meals to choose from at a Mexican restaurant. Sangria was yummy, food was delicious! Small space so make reservations!
