Jaw dropping view, amazing service, great food

By Guanjin77 |

Manhatta is located on the 60th floor of a high rise in the Financial District (on LIberty St), and the view is simply jaw dropping. Brooklyn Bridge from above, at sunset, was an amazing sight. However, the restaurant does not made the mistake of offering mediocre food and service just because the location is amazing. We were very pleasantly surprised about the attentive service staff who chatted casually with the guests, and put a lot of focus in providing excellent hospitality. Food came as a 4-course menu - you create your own menu based on a selection of starters, mains, and desserts catering to different tastes and dietary choices. All courses were excellent! A final kitchen greeting were tiny profiteroles filled with banana cream that we really loved - when telling service, they came back with a box of even more profiteroles to take home. What a lovely gesture! Manhatta is clearly recommended, not just for the views, but also for very good food and amazing service.

Treat Yourself To the View

By Susan N |

I brought my team to Manhatta for a celebratory dinner to celebrate a job well done. We shared some plates which I've shared in the photos. The cocktails and the view were spectacular - really outstanding! Manhatta is a special place, and I've lived in this city for 27 years. Treat yourself!

On top of the world !

By Nicola T |

Went to Manhatta for lunch to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Great service, killer views and good food. Maybe not a foodie haven, but in our opinion the best overall experience to be had while enjoying one of the greatest NY vistas. We were fortunate to be seated in the 'sweet spot' to enjoy the east river panorama, but fear not, as most tables have great views. Thank you for the staff and the owner for this enjoyable experience, the highlight of our trip.

A very special place

By TravelingMom0713 |

This place exceeds the ranking system on TripAdvisor. We went for lunch because we wanted to see the views during the day. We had a seat for two by the window and the views were amazing. You should request this when you make the reservation. We hadn’t requested it, but lucked out because someone cancelled. Lunch is a 3 course meal. I had a citrus salad as a starter, the poached lobster as the entree and the chocolate tart for desert. Everything was perfect. The service was great too. Would definitely go back. And, if you just want to go for a drink, the bar has the same amazing view.

Amazing views with great food.

Excellent food. Portions not very large but very tasty. The service was very good, the dishes that we did not understand were translated into Spanish. The views from the dining room are spectacular.

Dinner With a View

By Jeff K |

This one of those places you just whip out the AMEX and go. Breathtaking view, wonderful atmosphere, great service. Must be a small freight elevator because the portions although delicious were a bit small for the price.

You’ll like the view……not the food….

By JoHinshropshireUK |

The view was great, food not so good….. we are foodies, have eaten all over the world.. this was at best average… Starters were nice (oysters and scallops) but the duck was tough and not as good as we were expecting…. The jus, was thin and slopped around the plate…. We had 3 courses and were in and out in about and hour, we ordered drinks that never came…. The food was rushed, the minute we finished dessert the bill was presented (we hadn’t asked for it)… clearly they had someone lined up for the table All in all disappointed…..

Dinner on the occasion of our silver wedding at the chef’s counter

By Fritz |

On the occasion of our silver wedding we spent an unforgettable evening at Manhatta. We had booked the table at Chef’s counter via the portal. The occasion of the meal was immediately queried and the wish for a seat with a view of the skyline and the kitchen met. (three seats facing the bar are perfect.) With jacket, tie , blouse and skirt we were almost overdressed, but dressed for the occasion. The whole team was friendly, nimble and all American briefed for congratulations. The view into the open kitchen and the fixed way of working was interesting. Each handle sat. There was no time for small talk. Kitchen smells, drafty air and noisy music fortunately all not available. The menu started with a glass of champagne and a look at the wine list. Ten delicious and high-quality appetizers. On the first course, we thought we had to eat another hot dog on the way home. The concern was unfounded; everything tasted very good and the amount was perfectly enough. Maybe not star cuisine, but high-quality ingredients and an interesting menu sequence. A star cuisine is not required when looking over evening New York and the atmosphere of a lively yet thoroughly organized restaurant. The service was very attentive and nimble and had to be slowed down a bit for us Europeans. Along with the espresso, the bill was presented. With tips, the sound barrier of four digits was reached. We were happy to pay; we had an unforgettable evening. Thanks to Karen, our waitress and the WHOLE FRIENDLY TEAM.

Amazing Views - Good Food

By Den |

Go only for the view, order delcious cocktails and a bunch of appetizers. Service was beyond excellent.

A wonderful combination of breathtaking views and very good dishes

By Marchigianello |

Our first day in New York could not have ended better, a dinner on the 60th floor with a view of Manhattan all in front of us, in a restrained dining room that possesses the charm and magic of an attic. Pleasant service and very good dishes made the evening beautiful, a family reunion that touched our hearts as well as our senses. Take the 4-course tasting menu, you will not regret it, last note of excellence we were recommended the Pinot Noir 3 Sticks of Sonoma Valley, delicious, good sommelier!

Amazing

By mistinguette |

Incredible for the view but also for the meal, I highly recommend even if you are a tourist, there are a lot of city workers in the restaurant but we are welcomed very well, we had a fabulous waiter who took care of us and even changed our stable so that we could be near the window. The prices are a little expensive but the view is there. Very good tartars and burgers, bar side view even more breathtaking because of the view. Statue of Liberty 😍

Disappointed with being conned

By BabeBond |

I haven’t ventured into the city centre for many years but went with friends for a post 60th bday celebration. I feel conned and extremely disappointed with being charged for a double drink when I did not ask for one. More importantly I was driving and wasn’t aware I had been given a double until I tasted it and then went back to query this & the price which I knew was a lot at the time of being served but did not query it as I just assumed being a Saturday evening and City centre that this was the price. The Barman should be ashamed of himself. I could have lost my driving license had I not be so sensitive to the taste and this clearly a way to get even more money out of guests.

An experience we will always remember. Manhatta was AMAZING

By Greg M |

Wow! Thank you Manhatta for making our family's trip to NYC so special. Our server Nora, and the whole team took such great care of us. From asking about our dietary constraints and making recommendations (as well as an off-menu desert), to crafting a special mock-tail for one of our children, to filling us in on some of the landmarks we could see from our table, and finally taking a nice family picture for us, we could not ask for a better experience. On top of the great service was the delicious meal, and a view that made us feel like we were the first family of the New York City. We will always remember this meal, and I hope that others have the chance for the same wonderful dining experience that we had at Manhatta.

Dinner at the top (as height and as courses)

By Pippo S |

Already when you get to the 60’ floor and look around you realize that the place will leave you with emotions .. But to confirm the first impression come the dishes and “close the story”: excellent dishes, refined and well executed. We tried the three-course menu (opting for a savory third course instead of dessert)., $115 (to add tax and tip) absolutely justified. Perhaps the only course I had a doubt about was cod: unbalanced between quantity and flavor, but still an excellent dish. Friendly and kind staff. Highly recommended.

Just fabulous!

By Andrea T |

Went for belated celebration of many missed events due to COVID-19. Treated like royalty. Views to die for. Loved the lobster roll and the light bites. Simple wonderful and memorable.

Great staff and experience for a special date

By stefano |

I choosed Manhatta to make my marriage proposal to my girlfriend. The staff has been simply amazing, very discreet and caring. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great even if we were unlucky with some clouds obscuring the view. They made this very special occasion truly unforgettable. I hope to come back to celebrate our first anniversary. 5 stars truly deserved. Stefano from Italy

Beautiful restaurant with views and great food

By viaggiandoviaggiando |

A truly exceptional restaurant on Wall Street, with Italian chef, good food, great views of New York. I do not give 5 stars just because the waitress, after asking several times to be moved from table to table for cold air next door, has always denied us change. Only after 2 bring and our insistence moved us to the table warm. Too bad it had ruined our evening, we were frozen

Table with a view

By Lunartuna |

This was a must visit for our last night in NYC. Up to the 60th floor and it's like you're in a dream. We had a window table at around 7:30pm last Saturday, so got the best of both worlds with the view in light and dark. Absolutely unbeatable view over Manhattan and beyond. (This Saturday we'll be in our local Indian restaurant in the UK, what a comparison!). The cuisine and service, more than complemented the view. With friendly and discreet service from all, in particular the lady whose name I forget, who'd moved house 2 days before, she was amazing. We chose the 3 course menu, and it was beyond exceptional. With two 'amuse bouche' slipped in too, that was most welcome. The whole ambience, view, cuisine, service and experience were in our top 5 of dining experiences.

Great view, great service and great food.

By SueWolves53 |

Visited for a meal to end our stay in New York. Really made to feel special by the staff and we had a great window table looking down on to Brooklyn Bridge. The set menu has a good range to choose from and came well presented. It was nice that although the set price was quite expensive it included the service charge. A truely enjoyable evening, well worth the price. Only down side was the volume of the music but we accepted that this was America and English fine dining establishments tend to be quiet places so didn't let this spoil our evening. Would definitely return.

Appalling Hospitality

By Fam |

We previously loved the food, atmosphere and hospitality from Manhatta before their covid shutdown. We wanted to book an informal reunion for 10ppl, as some had departed through covid + birthday dinner for a Monday evening, July 18th. We accept they won't cater tables of more than 7ppl. So we booked two tables and requested if they could kindly allocate them within close proximity, it did not have to be connected. Reasonable request you would think but told no, they would not accommodate the request through Union Square Hospitality Group. Nothing hospitable about Union Square Hospitality Group. Called the restaurant directly, they gave me a firm no as well. The only way we were able to dine here was if we booked their private room - to reserve this space was $5,000 food and beverage minimum with NYS Sales Tax and a 24% Administrative Fee additional. Signed contract with a 50% deposit. This would be fine if we had a larger group, it was a formal gathering and it was a non-work day, to consume alcohol to reach that minimum spend. Disappointingly, we have to find a new venue. Attached are their unreserved tables for a Thursday night, July 14 and July 18, so our request felt reasonable for a Monday evening. Never write reviews, good or bad but felt this one needed to be mentioned and it will be mentioned on all forums.

Excellent evening

By Kathyta12 |

The food and the service were outstanding - the staff really took an interest in serving us. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they couldn't have been nicer. The views were gorgeous too. Would highly recommend.

Great views, nice food

By Lucy B |

Great views, nice food! The staff wer R really friendly and you can see the lights from the city really clearly. If you go to the other side then you can also see the Statue of Liberty. Certainly worth it!

Impressive

By DotCW |

Stunning views from the restaurant and we were lucky to have a window table. Food was impressive bursting with flavour. Staff were friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Interesting and different choice of cocktails, which were very tasty. Overall great experience.

Dinner and Drinks you’ll remember

By Damon S |

This evening I took my wife to Manhatta to celebrate her 50th Birthday. It was outstanding. We’re English and well used to Michelin Star restaurants in the U.K. & Europe. We love style, personality, service and great quality food and drink. Manhatta delivered on all levels. I originally tried to book 6weeks ago prior to their opening. The booking team were incredibly helpful and called me in the U.K. to organise a table. It’s got the atmosphere you’d expect from a relaxed London club and the food stands up to any Roux trained chef (unlike some other US Michelin level restaurants IMHO). It’s not at all pretentious and on 60th floor it has the most incredible views from Downtown NY back up to Midtown. (We were lucky, tonight we had a lightning storm which added a few natural fireworks). The menu is simple but standards are high. Pricing is what you’d expect at this level but I was happy when the bill arrived. We loved it. Great cocktails, friendly service and you’re going to feel very welcome. Highly Recommend

Danny Meyer, what happened?

By HillieHoliday |

The view - breathtaking! The atmosphere - perfection! The food - snails wrapped in chewy pork sausage? The wine tasting - $54 for a total of 8 oz of wine? The most disappointing part was feeling rushed. And being served by a robot, sorry I meant a waitperson completely devoid of personality.

Wonderful restaurant with fantastic view

By sophiebnyc |

I joined frineds here for dinner. The food and the service were excellent. Lovely space with a fabulous view of the NY city skyline.

Worth a visit if you like a great view and good food

By samuel w |

Really nice view we were so lucky and get room for the window out towards the city. And the food was really delicious and the drinks we had. There was really good service really worth a visit

Ambience, view food and service amazing

By Tom |

We were recommended Manhatta by The Langham, where we were staying and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing, a slight hic up with desert, however did not take away from experience. Amazing views and wonderful food. Top Class and 100% worth the $$$. I recommend and will hopefully return one day in back in NYC. Tim was a waiter, he was great!

One of the best wine list in NYC - and the food is excellent and elegant!

By Sylvain C |

Excellent discovery in the financial district, what a wine list! With reasonable mark ups (~x2.3) and a few old vintages. Food is elegant and very tasty, and the view from the 60th floor is gorgeous. Will definitely come back.

A Manhattan highlight

By screwtape |

I went to Manhattan for a business dinner and had such a great time I took my husband for lunch a couple of days later. The view is stunning, and the room gorgeous. The menu wasn't hugely broad, but there were plenty of appealing options and our choices were delicious. Service was top notch. It's expensive, but great for a memorable experience.

Manhatta

By Michele F |

Huge disappointment. Drinks in the Bay Room and the management could not control the lighting. High priced drinks and BAD service! View is great - but very disappointing and would not recommend. Staff said they could not control lighting and were NOT helpful.

Second time and its perfect

By David C |

Have been two times now and both times went there just for drinks and ended up nleating at the chefs table. View, service and food is perfect. It is a must do for any visitor to NYC.

Overwhelmingly great experience

By CM10583 |

My parents splurged on breakfast at Windows on the World on my first visit to NYC in 1975, cementing my goal of moving to New York. Lunch at Manhatta today was even more thrilling, despite my now-high expectations: excellent in every respect. From the ground-floor coat check to the lavish sky space to the outstanding design, service, food, and drinks, everything worked. I love this restaurant and its creator, Danny Meyer. Thanks to Manhatta’s incredibly democratic feeling, I’d recommend it to anyone who at least can manage the entry-level $18 soup and sandwich deal at the greatest bar in the city, extreme hospitality included. My wife and I spent hours lounging in the public spaces overlooking the harbor to the south and at our table looking the east and enjoyed some of the best food ever on a bargain-priced Restaurant Week menu.

Fantastic

By Ms PDB |

Absolutely loved this restaurant, both the food and the vibe. The food was very high quality, we also had the wine pairing which added to the experience. The service is amazing, as are the views. I can't recommend enough.. our best meal in Manhattan by a mile.

VERY very unfair treatment

By Dave J |

I REALLY dont like writing bad reviews because I know how much it can hurt a restaurant but my experience at Manhatta was so unfair that I really do feel like I need to write one and the restaurant needs to know. ive never had worse service in my entire life at any restaurant ive ever went to ever not once not in any country ive ever visited not in any state or city or house or anything. it was very very unfair. 1-I had just gotten engaged the day before. I had made reservations about a month prior. I left very specific requests to be seated by the window and asked very nicely and explained it was for my engagement and called them every single week sometimes more than once a week and asked them to be seated by the window. They didnt sit me by the window 2-When we got there the hostess told us they were still getting our table ready and "putting the finishing touches on the table". She told us to wait by the bar. We stood at a table for like an hour before we were seated 3-After about 10 minutes a waitress asks us, very rudely, if we wanted to order anything. I said no thanks just water. She went away and bought water back like 5 minutes later 4-I decided to get drinks after about 10 more minutes of waiting so I asked the hostess how I can get a drink because I couldn't see my waitress This woman stares at me like I committed some sort of crime and tells me "go to the bar" (keep in mind I just got engaged and had a wonderful day so I was in the nicest and most charitable mood possible) 5-I ask the bartender for 2 drinks. He spend about a good 60 seconds saying a whole bunch of words giving me a silly long winded explanation that I couldn't even understand. I asked him “im sorry I dont understand, can I order a drink?” to which he said, "no ask your waiter" 6-Waitress comes back to the table and asks us if we wanted anything else while. My fiancèe wanted a drink with whatever juice that they have instead of seltzer. The waitress looked at us with a level of disgust I have never seen before. I told her she can charge me for both the juice and the cocktail its ok 7-Another hostess comes and seats us down in NOT a window seat. its already an hour after we had our reservations. At that point I was a little upset. I was still smiling because I didnt wanna make my fiancèe upset. I told the waitress it was unfair and she seemed like she legitimately couldn't care whatsoever 8-never brought us our cocktails. she spent like 10 minutes trying to "figure out" what was wrong with them. she said the maître d' was looking into it. The original waitress never put them in. I explained I made reservations a month prior and confirmed routinely and it was unfair. 9-she comes back and says when someone leaves we can get a seat. someone left, they didnt wanna reseat us, I said please just seat us there. They reluctantly did. I said thank you to the hostess. She stared at me like I stole her grandmas pension. Said it again, same stare. They comped us our 2 drinks and g ave us 2 little Turkish delights.

I would never wish ill on someone but if they dont change (and I really hope they do), I hope they close down. It was truly unfair and if I wasn't such a happy and forgiving person that whole event could have easily ruined my night. I wish I could make this review way longer because there is much more to tell but google limits characters. Please Manhatta, dont treat your customers like you hate them, even if you dont need them. And I know you dont need me and dont care about me or my engagement or the happiness of my fiancèe or myself, but that wasn't right. The girls who work downstairs were very sweet. 0/10

Unforgettable experience

By 558leod |

Eating at Manhatta is an unforgettable experience. The best time to start dinner is at sunset. As the lights slowly turn on, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Be sure to ask for a table by the window so you can optimally experience this view. Please note: not all tables offer an equally beautiful view. The quality of the food is excellent, and the service is very adequate. You can choose between a three- or four-course menu. Keep in mind that the price tag is on the high side. In short, if your budget allows it, a visit to Manhatta is very worthwhile

Top ten!

Without a doubt, the best restaurant in New York shared with friends. The impeccable foie gras deserves an Oscar. Incredible views. We will be back, thanks for everything

Splendid view and delicious food!

Splendid view and delicious food! An unforgettable New York experience! recommended to those who appreciate good food in a sophisticated environment!

Hostile environment

By Roisin M |

The view is amazing…but the unwelcoming attitude you get from the staff is unbelievable! Sat down at the bar. Asked if we could sit at a table at the window. The bar person explained that it was only reserved for tasting menu guests which was no issue. Was strange as they told us they weren’t doing food at the moment but was fine with it as the bar person told us we could explore the place and look at the view. Then sat back down at a table in the bar after checking out the view to finish our drinks as we were only having one as had places to be. A staff member then came up to us and said “if I can just ask you to move back to the bar as we aren’t going table service at the moment”. Bearing in mind we were sat on a bar high top table..not the tables I originally mentioned. My boyfriend replied “that’s no problem we are just going after these anyway” to which the person replied “I don’t see why you have to be difficult” and walked away !!! I have never been so shocked in my life. Never in my life have I been spoken to that way by a server. We are both hospitality managers from Glasgow so we know what good service is nevermind pure rude service. Not sure if they didn’t like us because we were tourists but explained why the place was near empty considering how beautiful the place is. Our first bar in New York on our first day on our holiday - what a dampener! Safe to say I will be telling my family to avoid when they come in September. Treat your tourists better.

Best at everything

Experience beyond the ordinary. Great restaurant at high altitude. Everything perfect from start to finish: good food, good wine, service. Amazing view. I’ll be back in NYC as soon as I get back.

What a view!

From the moment the lift doors open you are drawn towards the view, only after this do you see the calming bar area around you. Stunning views, friendly service, exceptional clean restrooms.

A classy restaurant experience with a view to match

By Clive H |

The food and wine in Manhatta were top-notch, the standard of service excellent and the view was out of this world. We were fortunate to have been given a window seat and could watch the city lights come on as darkness fell.

“Diner” in the Sky

By tasteful_10 |

I’m starting this review with what I found to be a really off putting part of the Manhatta experience. Open kitchens in better dining establishments are increasing and need not be a negative. However, here the cooks/ chefs bellowed the announcement of each dish as if the order had been placed at a roadside diner. I was disappointed to discover that the prix fixe lunch with wine pairing is only available on the weekend. Our waiter wonderfully arranged with the chef to prepare and serve an entree(duck) which was not on the menu. It is refreshing that the level of service is so high at a restaurant where tipping is not a separate element of the bill. Each staff person we dealt with was personable and professional. The food was, mostly, quite good with the exception of the snails. Nestling the snail in the sausage was poorly executed. The sausage (which was greasy) stuck to the pan so that I ate the snail itself and then scraped out the sausage”wrap “. I recommend offering the snails in a traditional herb butter sauce by themselves. Everything else that we ordered was nicely plated and interestingly prepared. And, of course, you can’t beat the view!

Check your Bill and transaction-Pay Cash

By AngelManuel |

Nice place, beautiful view of downtown Manhattan. the food was good. when the bill came, we handed over the credit card and they came back with only the receipt the receipt they gave us was not ours, so we told the server and she apologized and then they came back with the actual receipt and the credit card, it should have not held on to the credit card that long because what happened was we got charged for 2 separate meals , the first receipt they gave us which was not ours was for $558.04 which they actually charge our credit, later on they came back with the real receipt $440.73 which they also charged us. obviously someone got a free meal. this is something they should of caught, they took our credit card and made 2 separate transactions and one of them was not signed by us. we only signed the $440.73. how did they did not catch this. we called them on Sunday when we saw the two transactions pending, the restaurant asked us to send them a copy of the receipt which we did, today Tuesday we called them and at first they couldn't find the email and started asking if we send it to the wrong email address but eventually they found it. if we would not have called them back we would still be waiting. Now we called and asked to speak to a Manager and we were told they can not come to the phone because they are are busy, that they would call us back, actually they were trying to brush us off that's the way we felt base on the the response from Vanessa, you can feel it. Let's see if they call and how long before they call. This supposed to be a 4-5 star restaurant yet you can not speak to a manager when there's more than one manager on duty. we asked for the Managers name and at first she would not want to give it but we insisted and she did. We asked when can we expect the refund and all she kept saying 5-7 days, my colleagues would look into, she could not tell us when were they going to refund the money, we understand the bank process but when they were going to submit the refund. Not happy with the service, they screwed up and yet they are not in any rush to refund us the money. If we would not call back who knows when would they find the email with the receipt that they asked. Bad management, I was thinking of going back but the way the telephone call for my refund was handle made me changed my mind. If you go there double check your receipt and pay with cash..

Is there a better “special occasion” restaurant for a visitor to NY?… I suspect not!

By iain |

We chose Manhatta to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and what a great decision that was. We were well looked after by Shannon, and the whole team seemed to know we were celebrating! The food easily matched the view, which even on a wet and windy night was spectacular. The cocktails were unusual and as good as any we’ve had. Of course it’s not the cheapest night you’ll ever have. But you’ll pay the best part of $100 to get the view alone elsewhere. Can’t recommend enough.

Fabulous place!

By Luc M |

We went to have a cocktail at sunset and we caught our eyes. The atmosphere is cozy and chic. Cocktails are good bills. All this was a little spoiled by the very unpleasant and arrogant waitress. The place will still detour for the atmosphere and the view

Wonderful experience!

Phenomenal view of the city and beautiful upscale dining in a lively atmosphere! The staff was attentive, welcoming, and friendly. It was a great experience we would definitely do again!

Dining with a View at Manhatta

By YASIR M |

Manhatta offers a stunning dining experience with breathtaking skyline views. The seasonal menu is creatively crafted, showcasing fresh ingredients. Service is impeccable, making for a memorable evening. Perfect for a special occasion or a romantic night out!

Amazing

By pippa |

Not only does this restaurant have the best view in New York City, but it has the most amazing food. From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left we were treated like royalty.

Disappointing despite good food

By pradoflorian |

Excellent food but dessert a little below. The main server unkind and making no effort to make himself understood with strangers. Superb view but very noisy especially for dinner

Lunch with a view

By BubbleGirl13 |

The view from the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking from the moment you enter. Service and food were both on point. I do feel a couple of extra items on the menu might be welcome as it was quite limited in terms of entree choices. Other than that we loved it!

Definitely worth a visit

By KellyMYYZ |

Had an incredible dinner at Manhatta last week. We were lucky enough to be sat at a table by the window with stunning city views. Our reservation was at 7:15pm so it was perfect sunset views. Opted for the 4-course menu which was great, the amuse was delicious and a great cocktail. Definitely a bit on the pricier side but the staff being so friendly and nice made it worthwhile.

Awful service , slow and uninterested

By phil m |

Awful service , staff looked clueless about covid service. Poor menu choice. Left before ordering as service was so slow and staff looked uninterested. Wasn’t too busy

Overrated and terrible service

By Veli L |

We had an anniversary, asked for windows seating, was placed in a dark corner. Very nice wine servant. Food is ok but overpriced. Impersonal service, made us feel uncomfortable. Forgot our orders. In the end they brought anniversary desserts not caring if it was appreciated. (Never eats desserts) . A lot of people working - but seldom the same approaching you. I would say:stay away. Toilets not clean and no paper

Gorgeous views and really helpful staff

By OliwaVasicek |

Popped in for a drink one August Saturday night with a friend. Drinks, crowd, etc, ok, as you would expect for a place that is quite well known for its views and maybe has a more touristy vibe. Definitely the views are lovely. The staff are quite amazing tho - not snooty as one might expect, and they proved their weight in gold when one of us (drunkenly) forgot our iphone on the ground floor in one of the lounges...

Superb in every way

By shaun |

Superb location, service, food and drinks. Also the view of the city is incredible. So pleased we booked and would definitely come again when back in NYC. Thanks for having us and keep up the great work.

At the top to eat with a beautiful view

Restaurant offering a beautiful panoramic view of the city, the cuisine is excellent and about the wines of the world. The staff is very friendly

Best view in Manhattan. Great food too.

By mathfool |

The food was fantastic and the view can't be beat. I enjoyed going for lunch, less busy and enjoyed the view on a clear day.

Lunch

By Dmpeters |

Had the most fabulous lunch. Food was absolutely delicious, views were amazing and our waitress Riley was the best. So attentive and made our celebration perfect!!

An expensive view

By desmondlax |

We've been there in October 2019! The welcome is ok and the greatest part of our dinner was our time at the bar. The service was ok. The sommelier and bartender were great, but we couldnt have 5 min of peace without being annoyed by the waitress. The scotch snail were disgusting. The octopus gnocchetti were a novelty for us, good but not wow, The wagyu was overcook and the side dish/sauce lacked of research. The halibut was a fail. A mix a flavor in a boring broth. The soufflé undercook with an artificial strawberry taste. All of this for the same price of a 1 michelin star restaurant the night before. Go for a drink, not for the food

Great Views and Food

Incredible food with an incredible view. We had lunch and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge after visiting. Very easy to find via the subway at Fulton St.

Truly amazing location and food!

By Victoria D |

Had dinner with friends and family for my daughters 16th birthday, it was fantastic and I can’t recommend it highly enough, the set menu is varied enough for everyone and very tasty, great drinks menu, we tried most of the menu between us and everyone was thrilled. The views are brilliant as it’s on the 69th floor and gives a great backdrop to the restaurant, they even have an iPad that you can use to change the colour on the top a building which is fun.

Absolutely worth a visit!

By LRNADUNE |

This was a wonderful experience to get dressed up for a date night. The views are breathtaking, service was excellent and made it feel like a special experience. The cocktails were top notch and the food was eclectic and mouth watering. We each chose the four course option and tried a variety of dishes. The espresso martini has a unique flavor to it that was delightful (coming from a person who orders them constantly)! Loved the blue crab, hamachi, dumplings, and scallop. Thank you to the staff for making us feel valued - wonderful evening.

Yes nice views but

Restaurant is nicely decorated and views are amazing but service and food are substandard so one time experience for me

Exceptional

By Jeremy-W-67 |

Nestled on the 59th floor, the restaurant has a breathtaking view of New York. The staff is very welcoming, attentive and professional. We were there for a birthday: each server wished us with special attention. On the plate, modern American cuisine with flavors inspired from around the world. Delicious Very nice wine list

A room with a view and great food

By pedrde |

We could only book ourselves a seat at the bar, but even then, the food and the view didn't disappoint at all, "en contraire". We ordered a couple of mocktails and some ham, followed by some bar food. What we received were great drinks and fantastic tasting dishes of gastronomic level. With only one mocktail on the menu, we asked if there were other options, and we received another new mocktail that was as good from the very friendly female bartender.

Danny Meyer is a great at what he does.

By Jarb1946 |

Majestic view, excellent service and delicious creative food (and the bread is very good). The place for an important celebration. I am going back in two weeks to celebrate life.

Excellent!

By Lewis |

We went there to celebrate my birthday. They gave one of the best tables. Service and food were excellent. And the view was breathtaking! We live in NYC and felt that we need to explore our city. We want to come back during sunset. Thank you for the excellent service!

Views and more!

By 404UnaR |

We went there a couple of weeks ago with our daughter on a visit to NYC! We just had drinks and appetizers! But what a fabulous place, views over the city are amazing! All the food looked really good too. We will go back and have dinner there another time!

Wow wow wow lovely time spent in here

By Annettelol A |

Hi can I just start by saying what a beautiful establishment. We came here to celebrate 2 50 th birthdays there was 6 of us and the bar staff were fab we were upstairs and Ellie was incredible, nothing was a bother, Liam behind the bar was great and the young lady who was front of house was so helpful. We all had a fabulous afternoon we will definitely be back again as the atmosphere was great Thank you so much

What an amazing restaurant!

By Sebastien_D54 |

We had the chance to come to dinner at this restaurant during our stay in New York and what to say? Everything was perfect: the welcome and accompaniment up to the 60th floor, the cocktail waiting for our table to be ready, the magnificent view, the super attentive service (the waiter even came to fold my towel while I was in the bathroom), the dishes (we had taken the 4-course menu that would be too long and too complicated to describe here) very refined, well executed, and well trained. We had a great evening, and it is one of the best restaurants we have made (good also one of the most expensive ...) and I definitely recommend if you want to spend an unforgettable time in New York.

Very good meal, nice view but a little noisy

By Carolinebelgium2015 |

We had a very pleasant time in this restaurant. Good food, beautiful place with a magnificent view. A little expensive but it’s New York… 😉 Only negative point: very noisy. I recommend it.

Brilliant evening !

Fantastic surprise 60th birthday celebration for my sister . Amazing views, staff brilliant and food lovely . We travelled from the UK, thank you so much , recommend highly !

Magnificent view and good meal at an affordable price for a New York restaurant

By Manon D |

We stayed at Manhatta during a trip to New York in August 2023. We wanted a restaurant up high to enjoy a view. On the top and 60th floor, the view is incredible! We were on the bistro/restaurant side because we wanted to have a cocktail but also to eat. From this side the view is truly magnificent. There is also the bar side. The view is beautiful too. There was no room in the restaurant section but we were in the bistro section. The choice of food in the bistro area is small but very good and the price is still very affordable for this type of restaurant in New York. We were surprised it didn't cost more than that. It’s beautiful and chic! We had just arrived from a day's walk in the city. We weren't dressed as chic as I would have liked for this type of restaurant. We were very well received. We don't speak much English and our server tried to speak to us in French. The cocktails, the wine, the food and the service, everything was excellent. I recommend it if you want a chic and affordable place because you have an incredible view as a bonus!

Gourmet dinner above the clouds

By federico |

We went on the recommendation of a friend who lives in NY. Memorable experience, not only for the location on the sixtieth-odd floor with a view, which in our case were the clouds above which the restaurant soared given the bad weather, but also for the attentive and elegant service, the well-kept room, soft lights and soft mood of the staff. The menu we chose of two courses plus dessert was completed by two excellent entrees, a journey of flavors that we never thought we would enjoy in America, every bite an ecstasy. We only drank cocktails, which were delicious, so as not to increase an already simply astronomical bill. However, overall we did not regret the expense given the unique experience.

Dine overlooking Lower Manhattan and the Harbour

By Fernanda K |

Located on the 60th floor this is a wonderful restaurant to bring visitors of celebrate an occasion. I attended a private dinner and this was a perfect place to celebrate. The meal was pre-ordered so my selication was edited. The offerings were very creative and beautifully presented. But didn't fulfill the taste promise. The lobster crepes served room temperature was a miss. My chicken breast with purple polenta and vegetables was very good regardless of the strange polenta. And the chocolate dessert was good but heavy and dense. The service was excellent. Go for the stunning views as that alone is worth the visit.

The PLACE in NYC

By Charliesangelsparis |

What to say about this restaurant where we did not dine 1 but 2 times during our stay. Everything is at the level of the view in this restaurant i.e. perfect. The cuisine is delicious from dessert starter (congratulations to the chef), incredible wine list with accessible nuggets and great Sommelier Trip Tip. Attentive service, professional, friendly. and the view which is WHAOUAAAA as the rest in fact:)

Informal fine dining at its best.

By Brummy40 |

We opted for a chef’s table experience and I can’t speak highly enough of both the food and the dedication of the staff. Fine dining at its best, perched at the bar watching the whole team work in unison to create incredible dishes. The food we ate was worthy of a Michelin star, no doubt about it. Particular thank you to Juliette the head sommelier who, besides working endless tables with a smile, was super knowledgable about all the wines on offer. We shall definitely return.

Extremely Underwhelming - Not worth the $$$

By sanketk2907 |

The only reason this gets a 2-star review is because of the excellent cocktails, and views, and because they gave us a table with a nice view for my birthday. Everything else was quite mediocre, especially the service. Four of the party of six showed up early and were seated earlier, and they took our drink orders promptly, but when our 2 additional guests arrived it took ages for them to get our drinks. In fact, at several points of the night, I had to follow up on drink orders. When it came to food, our waitress (Verna?) said, "Oh we do not want to hurry you", but then said something to the effect of "Oh it will be best if you put your orders in right now". I was quite confused. The final straw was the rude, and borderline racist manager we faced when our international credit card (from the Middle East) was not working on their system. I was willing to put down my American Amex Platinum, if the manager acknowledged the problem on their end. his response... "I just ran the card of a French group, so I don't know what the problem is". This was more than I could take. As a high end restaurant, you should acknowledge your fault for the sake of service, and refrain from comparing nationalities. Needless to say, we left without leaving a tip. Go for the good views, but do not go expecting good service. The only positive was that the $120 we saved on the tip was spent in a bar with friendlier service.

Great view with even better food!

By Ken Riemer |

From the first moment of entering the restaurant it was obvious that we were in for a very special experience. We had gone there for lunch and oh what a meal we had. As we were shown to our windowside table the view was the first thing to catch our attention but then the aroma of the food from the open kitchen what really caught us. We were in a gravity field of delicious scents and sights where everything looked and smelled incredible. Not to be missed! Great food, great view, great service.

Awesome

By bkahveci |

Stunning venue, service, highly focused menu, exquisite wine selection. Everything from the very moment they welcome you to the end was top notch.

fantastic view

Cool place, one of the best views of Manhattan. Fantastic lobster, oysters I wasn't crazy about. Sweets so and so. Excellent wine list and very kind staff who really make a difference. Very cool location.

Wow, Amazing views

We called in for a drink and the cocky are amazing and the views are absolutely stunning. You really must go if you are in the area

Unless you can guarantee a table with a view....

By Michael K |

I booked this restaurant for my wife's birthday earlier this year. Despite my requests to book a table by the windows they placed us in the back tables. We understand not everyone can be accommodated and if the food and service would have been excellent, all would have been forgiven. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here unless you get a table with a view because nothing is that memorable food-wise and without the expectation of a large tip, the service leaves a lot to be desired. For example. our food took forever to come, we had multiple servers throughout the evening, they brought out the wrong wine, they were nice enough to bring my wife a special treat which was appreciated, however they brought out the same treat again 15 minutes later which was not as appreciated. After some complaining the manager came out to speak to us which boiled down to assuming we were from out of town and wouldn't know fine dining if it hit us in the face. Again, they tried to make amends and allowed us to have a free drink on them in their lounge area (which is very nice). Of course the evening ended with our waiter bringing us a bill for the "free" drinks, which summed up the evening quite nicely.

Delicious food with a view

By Barry V |

My wife 50th Dinner - booked Manhatta Following so many good reviews, we wasn’t disappointed. The menu is varied and wouldn’t have been our first choice , however it was extremely good . Perfect location 60 floors up , great romantic setting and amazing food & service …. Thank you 😊 The attentiveness of the staff from start to finish was outstanding, the presentation and food amazing . So for any special occasion, don’t hesitate to book Manhatta, we will return. Thank you again , amazing experience.

New York Dining at it's Best!

By David K |

Another Danny Meyers amazing experience. Loved the cocktails and the Som with the red beard from Linquist was super helpful and very attentive as was the entire staff! We started with the beat starter and the pork with egg appetizers which both look like they were plated for a photography shoot for a culinary magazine. Then we shared the lobster and wagu beef entrees that we incredible. The lobster totaly sweet and moist. The waygu cooked to perfection with shitake mushrooms and the butter lobster stunning with incredible carrots and sides. The souffle was out of the world stunning with salted caramel at the end. And the end was really the little donuts with the check. Wow. It can't be better than this!

Amazing view, unique dining experience, excellent service

By Aceballos |

We celebrated our anniversary, since we arrived the manager knew we were celebrating and had several details, the staff is very attentive, the spectacular food and the view could not be better

Top view

By Thomkna |

Three of us had dinner at this restaurant. The view from the 60th floor is phenomenal. We had a table by the window. The interior is very stylish. The food, which is only offered as a set menu, is OK. The staff is friendly, but could be more professional. For the price (three people with wine $600 plus tip) you can really expect more (e.g. winter jackets hanging on the chairs, even though there is a cloakroom downstairs - something like that should be looked out for. Definitely recommended, but the price-performance ratio is not appropriate.

Friday Night Dinner

By Jeff |

Wow, what a place. Food was fantastic. Views are ridiculous. But what set my visit apart was a specific manager working that night. The beginning of my experience at the Chef's Table was less than stellar, but then Paris got involved. I didn't have to say anything, but she was able to see some gaps in the initial service experience after I was seated at the CT. Once she got involved, she made it a great experience for my last night in town. What was on the way to being a poor experience was turned into a 5 star night for me. Many thanks to you Paris and you deserve to be publicly recognized. The Chefs themseleves were great. Very engaging, little food samples during my time at the CT while waiting for my own items to be delivered, and observing them all work together was like watching well executed choreography. I'll definitely be back.

Amazing experience!!

By Skyy |

If I could give it above 5 stars, I would. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. It is pricy, but worth it. There is a prefixed 3 course or 4 course meal with 4 options for each course. There are vegetarian options for every course. I started with the special which were some delicious scallops. My second course was grilled squid with chorizo. It was unlike any dish I’ve previously enjoyed and it was delicious. Then, I had dry aged duck with kumquats and a potato flatbread. Everything was unique, flavorful, and tasty. Dessert was great too. The views are unbeatable and service was polished. Our server, Sam, was amazing, very personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend The Manhatta for an unforgettable dining experience.

Great view, attention and food

By Mariana V |

They welcomed us at the reception where they kept our coats and guided us to the dining room on the 60th floor. The view is amazing, the food delicious and the attention first

Excellent buffet lunch in the Wall Street area

By Bryce S |

Recently I had lunch at Manhatta in lower Manhattan while attending the Decanter magazine Fine Wine Experience -New York. The event was held in the restaurant, which occupies the 60th floor of a high rise building. In years past, the building was known as Chase Manhattan Plaza. The views were spectacular. I had not planned on having lunch, but while attending the event I realized it was the most practical option. Because of the connection with the event, lunch was priced at $85 net. Although this might seem high, especially since it was a buffet meal, this included wine from a selection of about six excellent Spanish wines. Service was very attentive. The star of the buffet was sliced prime rib, which was plentiful and excellent. When you consider the $85 was inclusive of wine, tax and tip, it was a very good deal. I think I will look at returning for dinner, the next time my wife and I are I. The city for a weekend.

Nice view but bad food

By Alessandro S |

Beautiful view but bad food. To eat well I Recommendation to go elsewhere. Two points for the spectacular view.

Fantastic location for a most amazing taste sensation!

By Helen W |

Fantastic location for a most amazing taste sensation!!!! First time visit and had to go for the tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course was an absolute delight accompanied of course by the amazing view. Executive Chef Justin Bogle is certainly a master at his craft and i'm sure it won't be long until he receives another Michelin Star. Although every course was beautiful the star of the night was the Dover Sole! Praise must also go to all the culinary team that night as well as the service team who were very attentive when needed but also knew when to leave us to it. Would love to return to New York just for Manhatta alone! Thank you all so much for an amazing experience, one i will never forget.

Great view and lovely food.

By Peter M |

What a place to choose for a celebration. We were here for a family birthday. It is located in the Financial District of the City in Lower Manhattan. We were lucky enough to get a table due to a cancellation, and proved to be the highlight of our stay in N.Y. From the time we arrived to the time we left, the whole experience was a delight. The view from the floor to ceiling windows 60 floors up were spectacular. The service from a range of different staff was faultless. The food, cooked in an open kitchen by an army of hardworking chefs was fabulous. We were not rushed at any stage but were amazed at what we called the "well oiled machine" amongst the well trained waiting staff. Just a wonderful evening.

There is no better place to end a special day

By Birgit |

The Service is great, the food lovingly prepared, the view breathtaking. We were there as a family and enjoyed the evening very much. Especially the dessert inspired us

Great view and amazing food go hand in hand

By Janos1315 |

We were here with our little sons for dinner. We received a table in the middle upon arrival but after the starter we could move exactly to the glass wall. The difference was huge. The view was incredible from Downtown back up to Midtown. The Woolworth building, the Empire State Building and also the Chrysler Building were clearly visible with many other fantastic skyscrapers from our table. The staff was friendly and really helpful. All of our dishes were really delicious. The Scallop Crudo, the Blue crab and Caviar and also the Grilled Lobster were amazing and the recommendation of the sommelier regarding the pairing wine was excellent. We have also enjoyed the display kitchen. I really want to go back! And also all my family members!

Manhatta Perched sixty stories. Simply Stunning

By CDTaylor80 |

Manhatta Perched sixty stories above Lower Manhattan, Manhatta offers stunning views of New York City, its bridges, and waterways. A unique New York experience. Great views, cocktails and food backed by terrific service. If you can get in go for it. It’s with it

Nice experience

By Dominique c |

Excellent table impeccable and friendly service Stunning views of Manhattan Prices are related to the quality of what we tasted To do without hesitation!

Great experience…for the most part

By mwfoodie |

The view is spectacular, the Tuna and hors d’oeuvre was unique and decadent, the halibut was pelite yet flavorful and the desert was unusual and a perfect ending. Hard to find restaurant. The “welcoming committee” on the first floor could benefit from a “charm school” class but once you ascend to the 60th floor…it was worth it!

Great experience - need to be lucky with the window seat allocation

By PenelopeOz |

We chose Manhatta as it was my food-loving young adult daughter's first time in NYC and we wanted great food with a great view over New York. We got both - more food than view though. We were not given a window table (against the window which would no doubt have been absolutely spectacular) but were the next table in from the window so had good views through other tables out to the river and broader New York rather than looking directly down onto Manhatten. We had spoken in our Uber about our fervent wish for a window table but alas it was not to be, and we were thankful we were not seated against the back wall which would have been horribly disappointing. I am not sure on what basis they allocate the great tables because the booking site says they cannot accommodate requests for window seats. I guess they can't go to everyone. The food was truly amazing. We would have elected for the 10-course tasting menu but it is only available at the Chef's Counter with most seats along a bar with backs to the view. We chose the four-course a la carte menu which offers choice of a chilled starter, then a hot starter, an entree and a dessert. Most memorable was the tuna with foie gras and artichoke with something crunchy in it. Would never have thought such a combination would not only work but excel. All other courses were also spectacular except the cheese course which was offered as a dessert option and was ordinary in every way (three cut cheeses with thick fruit bread). A really great experience, with really great service too.

Excellent

By Raphaël P |

Superb gourmet restaurant located on the 60th floor, with breathtaking views of the city. The service is very professional and the staff very friendly. The dishes are refined and the presentation is magnificent. In short, a must. An address not to be missed.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had!

By JimmyBNewBrighton |

Truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had! We visited for my wife’s 50th birthday celebration and were not disappointed. Manhatta’s location on a 60th floor in FiDi is stunning with amazing views - or in our case also atmospheric as the clouds created a really panoramic vista of Manhattan. The service here was spot on and totally efficient but friendly, and the drinks were glorious - from cocktails to wine flight. The main event however was the food of course, which was perfect. Totally recommend and a well deserved Michelin star.

Dîner with a view

By Thierry S |

Dîner with a view... usually. But wE went there a cloudy night so we were focusing on the food Dining room is relaxing, service is efficient, The wine has lot of excellent choices The diner comes in 3 courses, with very nice products, well dressed and cooked. The portions are reasonable , which is not very often even in NYC, could be even better with less « side stuff » in the plate , but that the US style after all.

Great evening

By Manon Charp |

Great place for the view of New York. Four-course meals, the starters were delicious but the duck disappointed us, tough and the accompaniment was not up to standard. Excellent desert. Superb evening in a dream setting but expensive in the end.

Wonderful experience. Superb views

By PickySchmuck |

Spectacular views. Attentive service. Delicious cocktails and really great food. I was expecting a bit of a tourist trap but we felt special for our « anniversary » (you get a nice window table and a nice note if you mention you’re coming for something special 😉). The only thing is maybe the table could have been cleaned before we arrived (there is no table cloth). Otherwise we had a wonderful time and it was worth the cost.

Outstanding location for a special occasion

By sightsandsounds28 |

We had a wonderful and memorable evening at Manhatta to celebrate a special anniversary. As a visitor to NYC I had been a little sceptical that perhaps this location would be all about the views, leading to compromises on the quality of food. I needn't have worried. It was a beautiful meal with outstanding attention to detail in flavours, textures, and presentation. We appreciated the attentive service from the entire team, but especially Sam's friendly and informative approach. Nothing was too much trouble and he ensured that everything was perfect for us. It's pricey overall and definitely a venue for a special occasion but the food is near Michelin quality. We would certainly recommend the wine pairing option that introduced us to lots of excellent new wines we would never have thought to try. One small tip from a UK couple who aren't used to impressive US air conditioning - take a jacket or cardigan even in the summer as it can be chilly if you're seated near the vents. Totally worth it for the spectacular views though. We hope to have an excuse to return soon.

Excellent food and service, unique experience!

By Yamsterdam |

I made reservations here because of the views. Didn’t expect the actual restaurant to be this good. The views are amazing. First at the bar. Amazing cocktails. Then our table, at the window overlooking Manhattan and looking down (!) on a lot of skyscrapers nearby. Service was impeccable, food was amazing. We opted for champagne. Lots of price ranges to choose from on the wine list. The cold appetizer and warm appetizer were very good. I’ve never eaten eal outside of my home country, so it was nice to have it prepared in a novel way. The main dish, the duck, was out of this world. Dry aged and very rose. Perfection. After our first bite we ordered glasses of Pinot noir, and the one they chose was so good. Only now on Tripadvisor I see that Michelin also favors the duck in this restaurant. Dessert of citrus was top notch, and the selection of American cheeses as well. As spoiled Europeans we couldn’t have had a better dinner. During dinner sun set over Manhattan, proving views that were surreal. After dinner (we were at the table over two ours) they offered us reserved seats at the bar on the other side of the building. Complete new views over nyc harbor and the Statue of Liberty. This dinner was one of the highlights of our trip to nyc. Again, I expected good views but didn’t expect the overal quality of food and service to be this high. The bill was around 600 dollar for two (excluding bar drinks), but very much worth it. Michelin level prices, but for us Michelin level quality. Deserves a star at least.

Disappointed

By Francisco S |

A big disappointment. I chose the restaurant mainly for the views. I wanted a nice place where I could also eat well to celebrate a special event with my wife. I booked a lot of time, as soon as they opened the deadline (28 days before) to have no problems. Finally we were placed on a table in a corner, almost without views (I don't think there was a worse placed table). The food was fine, but it has been a great disappointment. In view of the insecurity of booking in this place I could not recommend it to anyone.

Land in NYC and book it to Dinner and boy was it impressive. Here is the spot! Manhattan, Downtown New York - 3-course prefix experience - Amazing Views - Culinary Excellence What an incredible dining experience! The 3-course prefix menu was a superb, and the views are simply unbeatable. The cod was so excellent. I will dream about it! Such a vibe! Best experience in NYC... Stunning location with incredible view. Service is impressive and price super reasonable. Food is creative and very good. Wine List is great with some nice surprises(this white Daumas Gassac is fantastic). Congrats to the Chef and the Team. We ll be back for sure

Would definitely repeat the experience

By Poirotgirl |

I booked this on our last night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. From the minute we checked in and were greeted off the elevator by name it was a positive experience. They even knew whose birthday it was, a small card on the table was also an appreciated gesture. I had the wine pairing, definitely worth it if you haven’t a clue. We went for four courses and they brought out a lovely little cake at the end for the birthday. Staff were attentive but not in your face, napkins were repulsed the minute you left the table and the food was delicious from the amuse bouche through to the palette cleanser and desert. We are pescatarians but there were options for us, vegans might struggle. I should also mention that I am petrified of heights but as the elevator goes straight up and doesn’t keep stopping and you don’t come right out by the windows I was absolutely fine.

Bar with A View

By Holly137 |

Manhatta is a gorgeous bar in the financial district in lower Manhattan. It’s on the 60th floor with all the view you could ask for. I felt comfortable and relaxed drinking my $16 glass of French champagne. My husband had a very well prepared cocktail. We didn’tdo dinner. The dining room was busy and filled with beautiful people. It’s a great place for pre dinner drinks and made to impress out of town guests. I live in Brooklyn and plan on a return visit.

Great night

By Frederik V |

Had a great evening! We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary there. The service was very warm and friendly, but it was a bit difficult at first, we were seated in a forgotten corner. (but with a beautiful view.) The food was great! From snack to dessert/extra dessert. Everything very tasty, nice portions, top wine list. Everything very tasty. Recommended

I’ve loved our lunch here - I’d definitely come again..... And then there was our superhost Nick! Wherever you found him go looking again. He’s awesome, kind, thoughtful, sincere and just spot on...... He made our lunch ..... great job

Exceptional dining experience!

By Latasha M |

Beautiful evening to celebrate my best friend's Birthday! From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by warm welcomes and smiles with a big acknowledgement of my girl's birthday! The staff at this restaurant made us feel special and acknowledged my girl's birthday during the whole dining experience! She was seated at the table with a Happy Birthday place card setting with the 'Manhatta' logo on it, then celebrated at the end of our Three course dinner with a delicious birthday dessert with a beautiful gold candle and Happy Birthday drizzled with a delicious chocolate sauce on the plate setting. We did the wine pairing and just let me say, every wine tasting paired perfectly with the dish of our choosing. Server Jocelyn and Lilly were exceptional! They were knowledgeable and on point with service from the moment we sat down till the moment we left. Every single staff member we got the pleasure to encounter was honestly wonderful. I can't say enough about our experience. The food was tasteful and cooked to almost perfection! The only con is the food seemed to have lost a smidge of its temperature by the time it arrived to table, but not to the point it ruined our dinner! This did not change the whole experience which was perfecto! Chef Justin Bogle keep performing outstandingly! Can't wait to come back and experience the Chef's counter!

Great Food, Better Service - What a night out!

A really special meal in a fabulous space. Well-thought-out design of the room, the menu, and the service; this restaurant is crusing towards a Michelin Star or I miss my guess. Definitely exceeded expectations and looking forward to going back and sitting at the Kitchen View Bar for the full chef's tasting menue. Tip - Scallops. Seriously; scallops!

In a nutshell… perfect!

Amazing view, attentive staff, delicious dishes and refined cocktails! In short, I highly recommend this restaurant!

Beautiful views … great food

By RB242 |

This is a really beautiful place to enjoy the evening sun and skyline of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The staff is extremely professional (waiters are called the “captain”) and the wine list very long and surprisingly reasonably priced. The food is refined, unique and special. Especially the lobster and Caviar and the duck. Great place!! A must go in NYC!!

OK - when's is good its incredible.

With an expertly cultivated wine list (including a great selection of wine by the glass) and an always interesting menu, Manhatta is one of New York's most exciting dining locations. 60 floors high and with breathtaking views of the lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge the food is quite accomplished. In theory the menu leverages itself against dishes that, on occasion , might slightly fail to fully deliver. There is a pronounced preference for, fresh, seasonal and even raw ingredients over anything more obvious. The starters in particular are very much predicated on absolute freshness and preparation leaving hardly any fault tolerance for failure and customer satisfaction. This slight risk may explain the occasional bad review posted here. Hence when Manhatta is good its incredible. This being my third trip I can attest however to only very slight variances in excellence hence why I am giving it 5 stars. I have the service as being almost flawless on all 3 trips. A well oiled operation from front to back of house. Pictures posted below. The bar is sensational - the views are other worldly - worth the trip alone imo. Compared to the outrageously mediocre restaurant at the One World Observatory Manhatta is many many leagues more advanced, civilized and professional. In particular the expertly crafted wine menu (with sensational food pairings available) is a testament to the restaurants commitment to great and simple fine dining without any of the unnecessary pretentiousness at a pricepoint not be found elsewhere in NY.

An August Experience in September

By Foodie |

Absolutely outstanding experience atmosphere, service, and food. We had the duck/foi gras pie a deliciously, rich appetizer that looked like fall on a plate, the chicken with chanterelles and peaches full of flavor and tender, and the crab appetizer light and deliciously tasting of the ocean. The view dazzles and brought back memories of Windows on the World. But the service topped all. We brought our sister in law whose apt had been flooded with a pipe break that week to cheer her up. She arrived looking like she was going to the beach in sneakers (her few pieces of clothing that were undamaged. We were first seated at a nice table in the middle but in chatting when the waiter heard her story he came back a few minutes later and said “come with me” whereupon we were seated at a jaw dropping table right against the windows with an unbelievable view. The couple at the table next to us were dressed to the nines and looked at her like “what is this”. To me this is what sets Danny Meyer restaurants and his staff apart.

Fantastic view

The view is fantastic from this place and the restaurant is worth visiting just for that reason. The food is good and won’t disappoint you. Great service as well.

Absolutely perfect

Dear Manhatta Resturant, I wanted to get in touch to thank you so much for making my engagement so perfect! My sister in law, Katie Hyde and now fiancè Andy Hyde spoke to the staff on 17th January in hope to get into the restaurant for the big night on 18th, I am so grateful that our request was granted as the restaurant its self is perfect! The aesthetic is absolutely beautiful and the views are stunning, the staff went over and above to help the proposal go to plan! They were all very friendly, professional and accommodating, the food and drinks was out of this world! I couldn't of wished for a more perfect place to get engaged and I am so grateful to everyone involved who made this such a special day for us. A huge thank you goes to Caroline Sears who was a huge help in making this happen! X

This should be on your go to list

This is a perfect destination for visitors to New York as well as long time residents. The views from the 60th floor are amazing, even on a cloudy day in this financial district location. Tables for two are by the window, the largest table is a round one for 6. After that, you get the private room, also lovely. We went for the Restaurant week lunch and it was just amazing. The service, food, and ambiance was top notch. As part of the Danny Meyer hospitality group, they have a no tipping policy throughout the establishment and an extremely high level of customer service. We ate absolutely mouth watering snails/escargot, Oysters Rockefeller (not part of that menu), cod and a lamb burger, which mimicked the taste of the famed halal carts of midtown, only far better. My goodness!!! Make this place a must visit.

Awesome view

A place to go back to! Everybody's at the top. Delicious and romantic. It's gorgeous. The restaurant level is impressive

Incredible view with amazing food and great service

By Sudip |

Ambience, food, service - everything was excellent. The dishes were distinctive but subtle, the service efficient and friendly and the ambience was amazing - with an in review of NYC.

Good drink, fried food was ehh, nice view

By new york eater |

Good views, drink was fine if expensive, fired snacks way overpriced, and it's really not nice when the non-waiter person apparently assigned to "move things along" swoops in after you spend 80 bucks and swipes the table clean, so that the place can make more money.

Special Meal...

By Cazzas83 |

Having done a lot of research on New York via tripadvisor I was looking for a restaurant with a view to enjoy a special meal whilst visiting the city. This restaurant came up as a good choice. I therefore booked a table through Resy 30 days before I wanted to visit securing my booking and requesting a window table. We arrived for our 8pm table and were shown to the cloakroom where our coats were taken from us and put into a secure closet area. We were then shown to the lifts that took us up to the 60th floor. As we walked out of the lifts we were further greeted by the hostess who informed us our table was just being sorted and it would be a couple of minutes. We were soon seated and I was delighted to find they had fulfilled my request and seated us in the window overlooking manhatten and brooklyn bridges. The weather was initially quite poor so the view was a little disappointing however we didnt let us dampen our evening. Our waiter made himself known to us and bought us wine along with the menus offering help on choosing food and wine selections. Having made our selections from the menu we were bought some bread with pate and anchovies to accompany it. The food we had chosen soon followed at adequate intervals and all arrived hot, fresh and tasty. The weather lifted whilst we were seated and the views were amazing making for a magical and special night. Our waiter was very knowledgable and friendly which also added to the experience and it was all bought to an end with some chocolate treats. I cannot thoroughly recommend this restaurant enough for a special occasion and would live to return here one day in the future.

A superb view but no unforgettable meal...

By bcskft |

We go there more for the magnificent view from the 60th floor than for the cuisine which is certainly not bad but not exceptional either for us Europeans used to this type of establishment. The welcome is American and therefore very welcoming. We were also given a table at the window as desired...No complaints! Concerning the dishes, the quantities are reduced and the combinations of ingredients or presentations can be surprising. The service is uneven but to make up for being late, I was treated to a glass of Chablis (but not my partner??). Hefty bill: 400 USD for two for 2 3-course menus and a bottle of prosecco, service and taxes included. In conclusion, a beautiful place but very noisy with a very simple decor (no toppings)

Brilliant

Views to die for, creative cocktails to die for. Friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. 60th floor, oh yes please!

it would be better not to offer any gap at all than to

By Axel444518 |

very beautiful, spectacular view! you don't really need the rest; even though it's an "open", well-equipped place, you don't need to go there to eat! the menu offers little choice, quality on the cheap side! it's definitely better and more sensible to have a drink at the bar and enjoy the view!

Great food and staff

By Jimmy A |

We had our wedding dinner here when my wife and I got married all by ourselves in New York. The service was fantastic and also the food! We felt extremely welcome and cared for. Manhatta is a place we will eat again when we visit New York:)

Amazing!

By Patricia L |

Excellent, beautiful view and great food and drinks. The reservation is hard to come by, but you have to wait till about one week before visit to make it.

Excellent food and view

By Montana_Rustler |

We had lunch at Manhatta and very much enjoyed the food and the spectacular view. The service was good, and the items we ordered were very tasty. We went there to experience the food, and the view. The view was amazing, and greatly enhanced our meal. After the meal, we wandered over to the sitting room and then to some other vacant ballrooms to see even more of NYC from high up there. It was great fun, and we enjoyed the whole experience.

4/5

By Paweł Bor |

The food was good but as good as to get a Michelin star in my opinion. However, the view (especially in the late evening) is amazing.

No view, overpriced food

By Radio A |

I would not recommend eating here. The view is amazing if you’re lucky enough to get one of the good tables. We were stuck in the back and couldn’t see anything, just dark sky and other diners (I felt terrible for the poor couple next to us who were celebrating their anniversary). The food was also underwhelming: chewy hamachi, flavorless chorizo, bland sauces. Not worth the money. Go to a better restaurant, another rooftop bar, or an observation deck instead.

View, views, views

By R W |

We made a reservation a month in advance and it was worth the wait. Very romantic atmosphere with fantastic views of Manhattan, queens n Brooklyn. The food was very good, as good as the views. Service was good, with the suggestions from the waiter spot on. Very broad wine menu, though the cost was on the high side. They serve a prix fix menu for $94, tip is included. Typically a prix fix menu is skimpy, but not here. The menu was a 3 course meal, and no one walked away hungry. My wife and my friends wife had lobster tail n my friend had venison. All of the dishes were prepared perfectly. Appetizers were large portions and delish as was the deserts. The souffle was perfect and I was tempted to lick the cup. Great place to take someone for a nice romantic evening. I'll be back again.

Culinary Excellence

By MenuPassport |

Manhatta delivers a dining experience like no other. The Hamachi with persimmon, the best I've ever tasted, set the tone for an exceptional three-course meal. The live scallop, paired with seaweed beurre blanc and maple-cured trout roe, was a delicate balance of flavors, while the chai tea cake with pear sorbet and pecan oat crumble provided the perfect sweet finale. A true masterpiece of flavors. I'll be back for more!

Disappointment restaurant closed without notice

By troisarah |

Cancellation by the restaurant without explanation. Very disappointed ! We still went there and indeed the restaurant was closed that evening. I can understand that the restaurant has to close due to a problem but it would be better to write us a message with the reason for the cancellation. We weren't the only ones that evening.

Sensational view - food and service!

By ToniandJerry |

The service was impeccable - the food amazing - the view well, it's lower Manhattan with an unobstructed view - what more could you possibly ask for - I highly recommend at least one evening to experience this restaurant!

Frankly, it's an amazing place! Quality dishes, hospitality and high-end service, exceptional views. We were lucky to have a table by the window, it was really nice. Highly recommend during your visit to NYC.

Breathtaking Views at Manhatta

By NYCenteroftheUniverse |

Perched beautifully (60 floors) above Liberty Street is Manhatta. The views are INCREDIBLE (reminiscent of dining at the top of the World Trade Center at Windows on the World). The servers and hosts are warm, accommodating, attentive and professional. The wine list is expansive. The lunch menu, while a bit limited, had a delicious roasted beet salad. We both opted for the beet salad and the loup de mer which was accompanied by yummy, puréed cauliflower. The other entrees offered (beef short rib and lamb burger) looked very tasty at surrounding tables. Manhatta also offers a quick, inexpensive lunch (soup, salad and a cookie) for$38. Yes, the food is good, yes, the service is terrific, but the views and the ambiance are the show stoppers at this financial district hot spot. Make a reservation, even for lunch, as it was packed!

Lovely evening ruined by deafening noise level

By 1WS |

Great food, excellent service and stunning views of the city could not overcome the deafening noise level of a very loud bar crowd and diners screaming to be heard over the din. Wish we had gone somewhere else.

Manhatta

By Barabbas_10 |

Great place! Really, really amazing views! Food was high quality also, even through for lunch the menu its a bit limited. However, we managed to have a nice and enjoyable time there. The wine list its massive and I love the wine wall in the main dining room. The place its quite, cozy, views are amazing. Overall we had great time and cant wait to come back for dinner. Kudos to the whole team!

Worth every penny.

Wow. What an amazing experience from the moment we stepped through the door. Attentive and professional staff, amazing atmosphere, priceless views. And that’s before we’d tasted the food. It was a special birthday treat and yes, it was expensive, but it’s a memory we’ll keep forever and for all the right reasons. We had the 4 course menu with wine pairings, the staff all knew their stuff and took their time to treat us like royalty. Explaining every aspect of the food and wine. The food was out of this world delicious and I have to mention Jackson and Daniel for extra special service (even down to noticing my husband eats with his knife and fork the wrong way round and setting the place for each course like that for him!). Just amazing, you won’t regret it.

Food as lovely as the views

Everything about our dining experience was special—our welcome, service throughout our special-occasion meal, the menu and flavors, wine pairings, and killer views. Loved it!

Lunch with a magnificent view

By Mister Beau |

After seeing a video on TicToc, we decided to go to lunch for the view (incredible view of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge) and the burgers. We started by having a cocktail (around $20) served with the meal but it's very American to bring the cocktail at the start of the meal. My children and my wife had burgers served with homemade chips and they loved them. I had the chicken cooked with truffle and sauce....crazy. The prices were very reasonable (dish not exceeding $50 and $20 for desserts) considering the elegance of the place, the quality of service and the view. Very good value for money for New York. I will come back to try the gourmet dinner.

Very good and beautiful view

By Ocemiam |

Very good address to eat in Manhattan while enjoying a beautiful view of the NYC skyline. The meal was very good. The only downside is the price but it is unique to NY. I will be back with pleasure

Fabulous

By ShirleyV |

Excellent on so many levels. Fabulous service from the staff especially Daniel. So attentive. Hor d’oeuvres were delicious and so flavoursome. Tasty mains and desserts with sweets and petit fours to top it off. Cocktails and views. What more could you want in a NY city restaurant? Just go. You won’t regret it.
