We loved our daily visits to Market Crates and it was another one of those places we happened upon by chance. We were perusing a few of the menus for the eating establishments along this street. A few doors down there was a guy hounding us to go into his eatery. We were just casually looking at the menu outside. The menu was spot on and we really liked the look of the place, but he was badgering us and badgering us to go in, which then put us off. Why was he so desperate!? We were clearly interested! So we walked a few steps more and found Market Crates... and boy we are glad we did! The food is outstanding. The quality of the ingredients are superb and the staff are just marvellous. So friendly and welcoming and it’s really great value. Two breakfast choices and two hot drinks cost less than $20. Omelettes and pancakes are beautiful, and this place screams health and well being. There is full transparency here. You make your food choice and the ingredients are selected and cooked before your eyes. The drinks are done to perfection - they are boiling hot and take a while to drink, so there’s value for money there! The Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate is a winner. I wish I had taken some of the names of the team as they were so lovely. They could not have been any nicer and they work flat out to ensure that waiting times are kept to a minimum and food arrives promptly. Definitely one to add to your list when visiting NYC! See you on our next visit.

I never thought I would ever use delicious and healthy in the same sentence but this place is definitely both. I prefer to get the market plates for lunch which are filling. Haven’t tried myself but I was told that their pasta is also great. This has become my go to during lunch.

My partner and I enjoyed breakfast here four times during our recent stay in New York as it was not far from our hotel The New Yorker, but that is not the only reason to come here. We enjoyed both pastries, muffins, omelettes and pancakes with lovely freshly squeezed orange juice. The counter staff were friendly and helpful. This places also serves fresh salads, pasta, bagels and much more. Great place for a simple relaxed meal of all kinds eat in or take away.

Great coffee (a must!), big bagels (a must!), made to order omelets, quinoa bowls, salads. Order your bagel first, then get in other line to pay-that was not clear. Has a bathroom (unlike some coffee places in NYC). Supports local food sourcing and No Kid Hungry organization. Good stuff.

The best place to have breakfast I found in the week I spent in New York. Wide choice of dishes, both hot and cold, sweets, including the typical muffins (really excellent), pancakes and cheesecakes. The place is clean and well kept, very welcoming. Very honest prices.

This is is A Very Very Special Place where to eat delicious food at reasonable price. Staff is very kind and service very fast. It’s our new favourite place to have a sit and eat very well. WELL DONE GUYS! 👏🏼 FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Found this place when then the bagel place across the street had a crazy long line out the door. Had a huge, filling bagel with strawberry cream cheese (real, fresh strawberry pieces in it) and a cappuccino. Kept us filled up until late afternoon! Didn’t order anything else, but all the ingredients looked fresh and the prices were good.

Had breakfast here several times during one week stay in NY. Great food and excellent service from very friendly and helpful staff. Food came really swift. You choose from a wide and varied selection of food. We’ll definitely visit again. Thomas.

Nice service, very fresh place! We ate a omelette and the butterfly pancakes, drank a coffe and a water and the hole thing only cost us 18$ and it was really good! They have sallads, omelettes, pancakes, crepes, bagels and much more! A good stop for you to have your breakfast or lunch!

Everything is fresh and great value. Try the Oat Bagel with Cranberry Cream Cheese. Staff is veey friendly. They have a huge variety of breakfast and the price was really good.

great light lunch food, the quinoa bowl was very good, there are many seating arrangements available, the prices are a bit on the higher end though.

Close and friendly treatment. Staff eager to please us facilitated communication. The food varied and very good. A clean, spacious and quiet place

Nice stuff, good food we had a salad, veggie omllete, berries, muffin and hot drinks. Everything was fresh and not expenssive.

My husband and I found this coffee shop on our visit last December. We were happy to see that it's flourishing in 7/22. Very clean. Prompt friendly service. Coffees, teas, bottled drinks. Bagels and sandwiches with many fillings. Made to order breakfast items and salad bowls. Stone's throw from Hotel New Yorker. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip.

One of those little breakfastsnack places, where you can just grab a delicious meal or snack. Freshly prepared on the spot.

We were lucky enough to have it right in front of our hotel. After breakfast on the first day we never left it again. Very clean place with a very wide range of cold and hot products. From classic New York bagels to various options for sweet or savory breakfasts. Very kind and friendly staff (Daniela and all her colleagues made you start your day in the best way). Too bad we couldn't try it for lunch. Honest prices and in line with the city. Absolutely recommended and worth trying.

We found this Cafe several years ago after staying at the hotel New yorker. It's a short block distance on 35th street. What a gem! There may be lines waiting at other places, but there is always seats for patrons. The staff is meticulous, friendly, and obviously well-trained. We called over the manager, Kheled, to congratulate him. We had a very nice chat, and he stressed that he wants to have well-trained, customer-oriented, and team-spirited workers. It shows. For example, there is an expression in food service "clean don't lean". I observed that during lulls, where the workers were busy polishing immaculate counters and rearranging food and utensils. The bagels are excellent as are the rest of the breakfast items. Don't miss this one. And say hello to Kheled!

Lovely clean and relaxed cafe with excellent food including healthy choices and great coffee. We had the home made bagels which were delicious. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch. 👏👏👏

We visited the best bagel place on our first day and that was nice but busy. Came here the next day and had a relaxing breakfast which was equally good. Smoked salmon bagel, 2 omelettes, crepe and coffee and drinks for 4 cost us under 50

Our hotel coffee was really bad so popped here next door with hope. Simply beautiful display of foods. From oatmeal to eggs and ready made choices. Service was swift and every offering was beautiful. Small seating area . Great prices. And for NYC!!

Popped in for breakfast and were blown away by the choice available. Everything is so fresh and tastes great. We took ages choosing but the servers were friendly and helpful. Good coffee too.

The service is great, the meals are awesome. Perfect place for getting breakfast and lunch with no heavy lines to wait in.

The bagels are super delicious! The prices are good and you can sit down and don't have to queue. Perfect for breakfast!

Ideal place to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. The food is great and they have a lot of variety. Bagels, pancakes, toasts, tortillas and many more things. During our stay in New York we went about 3 or 4 times. 100% recommendable.

This is the place to avoid the long lines off of eighth avenue of people standing and waiting to go in or eating their food standing on the sidewalk. Go instead 100 feet to this bright cheerful restaurant where the servers greet you with a smile and you have a full choice of breakfast items. We usually get bagels and the coffee is top notch. All of this is overseen by a very friendly professional manager, Khaled whose team work with smiles. We have gone here daily for our weekly trips over the last several years. Don't miss it. There is a room upstairs with a toilet and a large table for a group. You come out and move towards 8th Avenue and wonder why so many people are standing in line, waiting to go into a crowded bagel shop as well as standing on the sidewalk, gulping down coffee and bagel in the cold.

Went here 3 days in a row on a recent trip to NYC - got better each time. Great staff, great food. Quality egg dishes, bagels. Beats the crazy prices right down the street

Market Crates has a devotion to healthy eating. Our breakfast included poached eggs for my wife and a quinoa curry bowl for me. The dining area is basic basic: hard plastic chairs and tables on a linoleum floor. But the guy at the counter MADE the place...he was super friendly and helpful.

Three of us were visiting NYC for business and needed a place for breakfast before our meetings so we stopped by Market Crates. Lots of different options for all different tastes. Reasonable prices too. Highly recommend!

Market Crates is great. Especially for breakfast. I would leave the fancy hotel next door to get my breakfast here. I love it. Try it you'll agree.

My wife and I stopped here for a late breakfast. The food was delicious. We both ordered quinoa bowls. My wife was able to customize hers to make it vegan. It was a nice quick stop right around the corner from the shopping area.
This wonderful place made my holiday!
We were staying at the hotel across the road. I had breakfast here everyday for 9 days. LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, great menus: eggs a 1000ways, oatmeal, delicious bagels and above ALL NO QUEUES AND AMAZING PROFESSIONAL FUN STAFF, always smiling. I miss it already. PLEASE COME TO SPAIN!!!!
