We first visited on a food tour and loved the mango lassi.will visit for one any time we are in nyc.

I have been eating the original Kati Rolls for years, which is right around the corner from this place. When this place opened up, the Kati rolls here knocked the original Kati Roll Company out of the park. The Paneer Bhurji roll is a must have!!! I have ate here many times, just getting around to write a review. Both Masala Times and Kati Roll are great, but both are different styles of rolls. My preference is Masala Times!

Great Indian food like I’m used to back home in the UK! The staff are super friendly and helpful and were more than happy to tailor the spice levels to suit our tastes (vindaloo-level hot, please!). This vegetarian and her vegan companion left incredibly satisfied and happy! Bonus points for having India’s famous Thumbs Up cola!

Ohh those roll! I crave them whenever i am in NYC. Also the paneer bhurji pav is amazing! Cheap, fast and just mouthwatering.. You can not go wrong

We visited Masala Times as a stop on a food tour and enjoyed our tasting so much we came back that evening for dinner. There are only a few tables so we had to come back later on but we really enjoyed our food. The rolls are very tasty (would be great for a quick option) and the chicken combo meal was incredibly well spiced. We shared the chicken tikka masala which had a nice sweet yet sour flavour and a good balance of spices. It's also open late so a good option if you've been out for drinks in the village.

We stopped at this village restaurant on a food tour and liked the tasting so much that we went back the next day for a full meal! We had a chicken box and a veggie box and got lots of very good food for about $10 each. They also have great rolls that start around $4 each... Very clean and bright, great location.

Visited masala times late night after exhausting myself at the famous mcdougal street. the place is small and cozy. the interior reflects the indian culture and more so the bolywood. they have rolls apart from main course item like shahi paneer etc. the portions are decent and also decently spicey ;-

Got taken here by a local - definitely happy with the decision! Proper authentic Indian cuisine - well balanced with the spice too! Some people may find it too much but for me it was perfect! Small dining area and nothing fancy but great spot for somewhere quick to eat...

Had the scrambled egg roll( do not remember the Indian name). Was very flavorable and loaded with spice! Also had the Indian yogurt drink that was so yummy! Great Indian fast food for dine in or take away. Very affordable prices as well.

Difference between kati roll and this joint is that masa times keeps the authentic taste of indian curry in the rolls! Not the dry kebobs, but resembling how it is done on the streets of north india. Favorite - lamb bhuna roll

We had an amazing dinner here during Thanksgiving week. The restaurant is very small and we had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to open up. Service was a bit slow as they were super busy but the food was just incredible!

I had dinner here a few days ago and was not impressed. The restaurant was empty , and the food wasn't that great. I ordered the "Chicken Box" for $11.95, which came with Chicken Tikka Masala, daal, rice, and bread. The chicken was weirdly sweet and the thin bread seemed stale. My friend and I also asked for waters and never got them. Since there are many other Indian restaurants in this area, I will be trying those instead of coming back here.

I just love love love this place ... been here quite a few times and simply love the food. The paneer bhurji pav , aloo roll and tandoori mushroom are simply amazing. this is the place we end up at after clubbing in NYC. A must go !!. there is not a lot of seating available be prepared to wait or have a take out

This small Indian restaurant offers quick but tasty and spicy Indian Food. For lunch I had a very delicious Vegetable Biriani which came with a nice Raita. The Mango Lassi was also a perfect flavorful compliment to the Biriani. There are just a few tables so it is nice for a solo or couple meal but not large parties. Nice decor with a fun, tongue in cheek Hollywood / Bollywood comparison poster.

We visited during a food tour and sampled a wrap with spicy scrambled eggs and a mango lassi.both great and we returned for the lassi when in the area again.

Perfect lunch in a fine little restaurant. Chicken Tikka Masala box (on recommendation from member of staff) did not disappoint at all. My girlfriend had a stag paneer box which was also delicious. Get here if you need a spicy hit!

We went there after hopping a few bars and clubs at around 3 am. Yummy egg bhurji, paneer bhurji, pav bhaji and lamb bhuna roll. The place was dishing out great bollywood music too. Must visit.

We went to Greenwich and we were not sure what too eat; there are too many restaurants here! We love Indian food, but are always very cautious; you never know if your body would handle the food. What is really helpful is a sticker of Tripadvisor. And guess what; this restaurant has a sticker. So we went to this restaurant and I can promise you, you will not regret it if you go here for dinner or lunch. The food is absolutely amazing and is exactly how Indian food should be! The Birjani chicken is a recommendation. The place is small and looks a little bit like a snackbar, but that doesnt matter; you go to this place for the food. The staff is very friendly and you can use the free wifi here. Prices are also okay.

Nothing great. There are much better places for Indian food. I had a similar chicken curry in the restaurant next door called Bombay Duck and that was way better. Service, as well, didn't feel very welcome.

Every time I go back to NYC, I MUST visit this restaurant. My friends and I always find our way back to this spot after having wandered around in the city all day. It is open late, and seems to cater to college students (NYU is close by), which makes it very reasonably priced. In terms of taste, however, I always have to order 2 of any roll I get. I am particularly fond of the Paneer rolls and the Chicken Bhuna rolls. I eat one there, and then take one home for later! We love the chicken tikka masala. The naan is always fresh and good, and the spices are well-tolerable for me (with water nearby), even though I am not especially accustomed to spicy food. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy (the actual space inside is small), and everyone who works there has always been friendly and welcoming. This is one of my favourite places for an evening snack in NYC. Oh, and try one of the Indian sodas! You won't be sorry.

Very friendly staff. Excellent Indian meal. Very nice location in Greenwich New York. Not a big thing, but cozy and cozy.

Small, cute place with limited menu. Fish curry looked interesting but was really mediocre and thick. Lentils were pasty and didn't taste good. "Salad" was just pickled onions. The cashier is unfriendly. Prices are high for the quality. Mango lassi was decent. Don't think I will go again, with other good options nearby for Indian food. Mirch Masala is steps away and much better.

Visited this place on a food tour and took some friends back on my next visit. It's a tiny place with big taste. If I had not been introduced to it on a tour I probably would not have tried it. Chatted with a couple of native NYC people there and tried several different selections from the menu. Our favorite was the spicey chicken rolls. Cash only and expect basics in service, but do try this one.

We went in to order some rolls. The description says that this place accepts credit cards but when we went in to order they were very rude and said they would only accept cash..we were short on cash so I guess it was their loss 'cos we ended up not eating here and went to another place nearby for Katie rolls...we won't going back here

We have traveled the world and enjoy many types of food. Here in our hometown is the most fresh abs delicious Indian food. A must for anyone who loves quality ingredients and authentic Indian cuisine.

Visited Masala Times during our last NYC trip and had to return. The rolls are not only cost effective but flavorful and filling. There is a small amount of indoor seating with no patio seating. You will be entertained as you eat reading the Hollywood vs. Bollywood comments on the wall. Definitely worth stopping in for lunch while exploring Bleeker Street.

My teenage daughter and I were introduced to this amazing eatery during a food tour of Central Greenwich Village. I'm not normally a big Indian food fan, but the tiny bright yellow Bollywood-inspired restaurant smelled delicious and did not disappoint! We had the unda bhurji roll, which is a true bargain at $3.99 for a half roll. It's the perfect street food and a great combination of flavors. I'm craving another one already. The mango lassi drink is creamy and yummy too!

Rolls are delicious with perfect amount of spice (for a non-Indian lover of Indian curries!)

Another late night order (1:00 AM) and they delivered so thats not so bad. I order the Tikka Paneer and an egg wrap. The sauce that the Tikka Paneer came in was over the top sweet and the curry egg wrap was dry and without to much flavor. On the plus side its was very inexpensive and this is what spared them a lower rating.

Came here on a NY Food Tour with a bunch of friends and had a curry scrambled eggs dish that knocked my socks off! Very funny wall art comparing hollywood and bollywood made a tiny space more fun. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Just bumped into this place while looking for some Indian options. And we were not dissapointed! The paneer keema with Pav is at the top of my list and the chole roll is quite amazing too. I think for the budget i end up having in NYC (i happen to be a student) this place deserves every penny that i intend to spend on some really good Indian food.

I didn't exactly eat a lot here but were at the next door restaurant "Bombay Duck Co" But one of my friends got a Kati roll from here and that was amazing as well. He actually had to go in there as he wanted to pee and this restaurant had a bathroom but offered only for customers. Anyways... was pretty impressed by what we ate from here and this now is definitely on my list to try out next time.

We visited masala times after shopping on prince street, not too far from the hustle and bustle but a great place on a serene street. We ordered the vegetarian boxes for takeaway and considering it is NYC, the prices were very reasonable, the portions are big, very well thought out, the good thing about this place is that the food was fresh and you could tell by the quality of the food. The quality was better than the restaurants we visited on Lexington/Murray Hill. Would definitely go back again.

Good Indian food before a night out in Greenwich village if you are in hurry. The food is tasty and well priced for NYC. Would recommend.

Simple setting with a decor that is worth seeing (funny comments on comparisons between western and bollywood narratives). And the rolls are just incredible - full of flavor and fresh tasting. Best lunch, snack going...

Great find in the Village for quick, tasty, inexpensive Indian food. It hit the spot!

Since we were staying in the neighborhood and love Indian food we thought we'd try several places nearby, this being one of them. The interior needs a tad bit of repair and cleaning. The food is served in cheap to-go containers, even for dining in. There is no table service, which is fine for being a cheaper place. The food, though, while fairly tasty, was too salty. This is a mistake often made in Indian cuisine, unfortunately. However, Mirch Masala, which is right around the corner, while just a tad pricier (not much, really) is far better and suffers from none of the blights of Masala Times. Verdict: The food isn't bad, but go to Mirch Masala for way better everything.

Excellent. Modern take on traditional eastern Indian street food. Located in Greenwich Village, the location is convent for a late night after-the-bar snack or meal.

Small place hard to find table but well worth going for the food. The chicken tikka box is fantastic great value big portion.

Been here countless times chicken kebab wraps are amazing. Prices are good too, staff have even done a great job catering for office events too

I went there with a friend as part of the Foods of New York Tours deal. We tasted the "unda bhurji roll" and mango lasi. The unda bhurji roll consists of scrambled eggs with spices on a pita roll. I was not very impressed with it, it was quite bland. However the mango lasi was excellent, thick and consistent, you could probably could not drink the whole thing. Price seemed reasonable. Food was mediocre. But yet again, we live in New York city.

You do not come here for the ambiance but for the excellently prepared traditional Indian dishes. The dishes are reasonably priced. The restaurant is conveniently located on one of the side streets of Times Square.

We tried their Indian Kati roll and were not disappointed! Specifically, we had the Unda Bhuurji (scrambled egg with coriander overtones and lots of Indian flavors), which is a quick, simple meal meant for someone on the go. The filling was a little bland, but we added in a bit of cilantro chutney for heat, and that brought the flavors together wonderfully. I'd say this is a great place to stop by late at night for a quick meal. Also, we had their mango lassi which was very thick and balanced the sweet/sour flavor of lassi exceptionally well.

Everything is just amazing. Highly recommended. Everything is so clean and freshly cooked right in front of you. The egg rolls are amazing. The owner is so humble and offered us a taste of their mango smootie drink.

Visited Masala Times on three occasions for takeout. It's a small place with four or five small tables and a really tiny kitchen. Last time I was there the tables were all occupied by southasians, which I take as a good sign. The staff are brusk and always seem flustered keeping pace with their orders but the food is pretty good and not short of flavor. Nice spicy kick too. We've ordered Lamb Kakori Seekh (Spicy minced lamb kebab), Shrimp Ajwaini (Shrimps marinated in yogurt with a hint of bishop’s weed) and chicken tikka. All good but next time we'll branch out to some of their rolls and other items. Has usually taken about 15 mins for the food to be prepared.

1) Faster turn around time 2) good service 3) hot and well cooked food 4) Excellent ambience 5) Situated in the heart of NY financial district 6) cheerful and courteous staff Excellent place to dine for indian ppl

Walking thru the village. Grabbed a vegitarian dosa for lunch. It was delish! Table was a bit dirty. It was crowed at 2:30. An Indian couple came out as we were looking at the menu. They stopped to tell us that it was worth a try. Thank You!

Very good quality Indian Street food for very reasonable prices. Stuff helps and explains the offer and makes recommendations.

Every time I visit a big city I seek out the best Indian restaurant nearby. I have eaten Indian food across the country and around the world - and all across India. A colleague found this one - partly because it was close to our hotel and because it was well reviewed. It turned out to be dull, fast-food over-the-counter sort of place. It seemed popular with students, and if you're looking for this sort of place, go for it. But if you want fine food, or a nice dining experience, skip it.

We had some type of wrap. We were told that they cut down on the spices so it wouldn't be so "hot". Not sure what all was in it but it was good and for me, could have been spicier . Never eaten food from India, I thought it was very good and would like to go back and try it again.

We went there on 24th night after spending 2-3 hours in midtown enjoying X-mas festivities. it was a 3-4 blocks walk from metro and path station is also close by. About the place it's a very small place which can accommodate only 15-20 people at a time. Music is mostly bollywood songs and theme is also 'bollywood'. About the food - we are Vegetarians and tried multiple items and most of them were either good or OK ... let me give itemized details. Paneer Tikka roll/wrap: Good Paneer Bhurji roll /wrap: Great (first was great we ordered a second helping which was OK) Chola roll /wrap: good Veg Biryani: OK Samosa Pav: Good Mango Lassii: Good Pao Bhajii: Good Although we found the prices were slightly on the higher side (or you can say portion size were small for the price) but they are providing you option to eat good food @ night. I think that counts. Service: it's a self service place. Tip: Your order might take a little time to arrive on your table so be ready to wait.
Good Indian fast food
We tried the paneer burji pav, and few of the rolls like chicken roll and chick pea roll. They were delicious. Good for a quick bite, and authentic in taste.
