Knocked it out the park! Much needed addition to Meatpacking District!

By Emma B |

The most gorgeous space, sophisticated crowd, and incredible food and beverage. Service was top notch - can’t wait to go back!

Amazing food, bad service

By Melinda |

The food and ambiance here are beyond compare; fun, delicious, inventive, and memorable. For this most recent visit, the service was . . . awful. We told the waiter that our group would be sharing all plates, and the first few came out with no serving utensils. We asked for serving utensils, which were brought, and the next plates also came without serving utensils. We asked again. We had to ask again for every single dish that came to the table. After most dishes arrived, we inquired about two missing dishes; the waiter almost scolded us for asking and condescendingly explained that "some dishes take longer." We had finished all of the dishes that had been brought out and sat staring at empty dishes for five minutes; a staff person started clearing our empty plates and we had to tell him to please leave them as we were expecting this one missing entree. We inquired again about the missing entree. The waiter told us that he remembered us asking before and would check, and he brought it out about ten minutes later. Again, this sharing dish came with no serving utensils. Also, every time we asked for additional drinks, we had to make a follow up request for the drink when it didn't arrive after a reasonable amount of time. The service is FAR BELOW the level o the amazing food.

It is a bar but not a restaurant

By Manol K |

This restaurant is a kind of bar, and does not look like a Mediterranean restaurant. Welcoming personeli unprofessional and not kind. Music was very loud, not for a restaurant but a bar. Not happy, do not suggest for family visots

Worst staff and management

By Daydream26291233729 |

This review is based on service… the staff here are very rude and unprofessional. A little power they have and it goes to their heads…the restaurant itself is beautiful but wrong management can kill and beautifully setup place. First encounters are always an impressions.. and did this place leave one that we will never forget… Had been seen this place on one of the social medias and after someone had reviewed it, e decided to book our daughters 21st there. We booked a table for 4 at 6:15pm. We had left with plenty of time to get to dinner at around 6. Upon driving we noticed time was being added and didn’t think much bc we had still time left to make our reservations on time instead of arriving earlier, no big deal we thought.. as we continued GPS added more time. So I called Meduza to let them know that the there must be some sort of accident and we are really not that far from the restaurant. Don the manager said call me as you get closer and we can see what we can do. When traffic broke final it had said we would arrive 6:32, 2 mins after their grace period, so I called back just to let them know we would be 2 mins late after the grace period. The girl got Don the manger, he said even to us after what seemed to be like us pleading to please make an exception this one time, please it’s only 2 mins after, we came from a long way and have been driving over 1.5 hours it’s just 2 mins.. Don said no even 1 min after we can not give your table, go somewhere else. I explained to him where can we go now without a booking. He seemed like he didn’t care and took it upon himself to cancel our reservation. My daughter was really upset, as was I, it ruined her 21st birthday and we spent the next hour trying to find somewhere else to go. Will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The level of rudeness was on another level. I understand we were late but something’s are not in your control, and there should be some level of professionalism as well as courtesy and hospitality. This place is everything the reviews say about the horrible service. Save your money and self respect and go else where!

Excellent Restaurant

By Eden A |

Wow! What a beautiful restaurant, with excellent ambiance, vibe, and music. The food was very tasty and delicious. I flew with my daughter to NYC for 3 days , and in the first evening (Monday 4/8) we took a taxi and came here, after my aunt recommended this place. It was such an amazing experience! Everything about this restaurant screams luxury . We really enjoyed our time here. We will definitely be back when we are in NYC again.

A Top-Notch Restaurant.

A NYC located Mykonos-like eatery nestled on the foundation of the Gansevort hotel is the Meduza Mediterrania. The footprint is extensive, with around 250 indoor/outdoor seats, a glass atrium, a 30 spot circular bar and 3 dining rooms with a private space. The atmosphere encompasses a beige palette with warm earth tones complemented by lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling. The menu sports Mediterranean delights infused with global influences like Black Truffle Casio e Pepe, Grilled Branzino and the like.......but I devoured a Seafood Tower that was superb. Inventive cocktails are unique and expertly mixed........I relished the refreshing Watermelon Fresca, the liquid equivalent of a Greek Salad. A groovy menu with a captivating atmosphere and exacting service makes the Meduza Mediterrania a top-notch restaurant.

Batata Harra?

By Shahar K |

Awfully loud. If you respect your food don't go. If you want a bar- this is a very large one. They don't respect the customers. We waited for service for half an hour and between the openers and the main. They don't respect the cocktails. 3 first ones with name of Greek islands but with tequila and rum... Mexican? No Ouzu? Any anis? Killed the tastes of lamb chops and "batata harra" which accompanied with too much spices. Do they know that harra in Arabic is simply "s---t"? Most of the menu is more North African than Mediterranean.

Some excellent dishes, but several disappointments

By Clifford E |

My wife and I joined another couple for a Friday night dinner. We were excited after reviewing the menu items, but there were several disappointments. Service was slow, and our first round of martinis had to be sent back due to way too much vermouth. Our martinis had to be sent back because of too much vermouth. Some dishes were amazing, including the butter fish, the bronzino, and the truffle pasta. The butter cake dessert was also outstanding. However, eggplant rollatini was very greasy, and the wagu beef and the shrimp appetizers were not very good. The music was much too loud for a table of 4 to have a good conversation. We pleaded to lower the volume, but could not get any results. It was a fun place, but I wouldn't recommend it for fine dining.

We were not seduced

By Andy Y |

Mixed feelings here. The interior is beautiful, with earthy tones and fresh greenery, and perfect lighting both artificial and from the vast glass ceiling. From the beginning though the service was odd; we arrived 5 minutes before the opening, and instead of being ushered into the bar to wait we were advised to wait outside on the street; margins on drinks are amazing right? We were then shown to our table in the darker, bar area while all other parties were shuffled into the main, bright dining area described above. We assumed it was because we had our two children, aged 10 and 12 with us; nobody's fault that they don't know how well behaved they are, so we just asked if we might move. One guy went off to ask at the front desk. Another felt the need to point out "we cannot promise anything", and then the first came back and said "you can go and speak to them at the front desk" ... OK... thanks... I went up to the front desk where I was told "Sure! Just bring your family and follow my colleague"... a good result, but just super clunky execution. The menu is very deep and varied, but we felt it was a little odd that per our server the 'chef's advice' was to take dishes from every section of the menu. He suggested raw bar, mezze, salad, starters, meat mains including a 40oz. steak for 195 dollars, fish mains, various sides. Only odd because it would be a gargantuan amount of food, especially with two young kids in tow. But none the less we got stuck in and ordered a good variety, and on balance the food was very, very good. We are perhaps spoiled having lived in Europe, so we could not give 5 stars to this, given how expensive it is, but at the same time we could not really fault it as such. There was a mix-up with our food order and a couple of tables close by, and while mistakes happen of course, there was no apology or finesse in the service. Another small detail was that we ordered a bottle of sparkling water at the beginning, and had decided not to get more, but we were served another without having been asked. I would prefer to be asked if I am to spend more money; albeit not a game changing amount, but I am the customer. In addition, our server went around filling our glasses, and had not followed that our youngest boy was drinking iced tap water. So that was half and half and effectively a waste. Again, small details, but at these prices it needs to be better. Overall this is an amazing place with a great vibe, including DJ, and beautiful aesthetics. Obviously it feels like they're catering to younger crowds and I am sure in the evenings the atmosphere is brilliant. However, they just seem a little too in love with themselves, which puts us off loving them; if they tighten up the loose ends on service and character it feels like we would be easily seduced.

Fancy and fun spot

This is such a great restaurant but beware it can get pretty expensive. Ambiance: This is such a beautiful restaurant and you can tell there was a lot of thought put into the set up. The seats were very comfortable and the tables were spacious so you didn’t feel crammed in. I loved the live violinist, it added to the whole vibe of the restaurant. Food: All the appetizers were very good! The watermelon salad was well flavored and seasoned and it was a really nice mix of sweet and savory. The dips were also really good and the flatbread tasted fresh and came out nice and hot. The eggplant entree was really yummy - it felt a bit too cheesy for me but anyone who likes cheese will love it. The dish was served beautifully and was a good size portion. I also got the spaghetti pomodoro - it was a lot of pasta but just felt bland and plain. Drinks: I got the margarita mocktail and it was PHENOMANAL. It’s probably one of the best mocktails that I’ve had. I was told that all the cocktails were also really good. Price: Most of the drinks are about $20 and up. Mocktails were about $13. The entrees were all over $30 and went as high as over $60.

AMAZING

AMAZING! We had an incredible dinner her. All of the food was really good. Stand-outs were the wagyu kafteh, the lobster and the caci e pepe. The cocktails were all exceptional. The staff did an awesome job taking care of us. Special thanks to Don (server), Nick (server) and Edwin (AGM). Have already posted about our awesome experience on social and told lots of friends. I've invested in restaurants before so especially appreciated how incredibly well run this place is, even though it just opened.

Beautiful dining experience and amazing service

By Agnieszka |

Our group of 4 visited Meduza for the first time on Friday 8th Dec. We’ve waited for that reservation I believe 3 weeks - and I can say now it was definitely worth waiting. The atmosphere, the service, beverages and food: no doubt 5 star-level. After moving out of Dubai, this was exactly what we have been looking for. Special thanks to Ms. Cassandra who was taking care of us that evening - extremely knowledgeable, professional, not over-selling but truly listening to the customer and honestly advising. On top of that, she added a little cute candle to the dessert as she overheard “congratulations” when we cheered with drinks (it happened that we had something to celebrate that evening) - another point of appreciation right there for lady’s attention to details and her friendliness. I could go on and on really, but the bottom line here is: fantastic experience overall, I recommend this restaurant in 100%. Thank you for having us and see you again.

The interior is so calming and beautiful, the wait staff is excellent and the food was incredibly delicious. The live music is a great addition.

Very nice place…

Beautiful place, well decorated with good music and a friendly, local clientele… reasonable prices for the style of restaurant
