Casual non-touristy place in Hell’s Kitchen. Enjoyed the Meza combo platter which was tasty and most importantly it was the perfect temperature which was a nice touch. Service was pleasant and friendly. Great for a relaxing dinner or pre-show meal.

This restaurant is practically across the street where we live in Hell's Kitchen. We like it that they serve "breakfast" early enough you don't have to call it brunch. Brunch/Lunch is superb - the breakfast tacos are a winner every time - and dinner is excellent too. We are two foodies (ok, I am tougher than my husband), and any restaurant that can deliver good food this consistently, and the price point is pretty good, is a solid choice. Try and get the corner table at the very back where you both have views of the neighborhood outside. There is also a great :FarmAcy" next door, so stop by and pick up some fresh vegetables from the local farms - not some Overly Expensive (Whole Foods, Food Emporium) Grocery Store. The Restaurant Service is excellent and the proprietor (always on site when we have been there, I think that is he), keeps this little machine on point.

We went to this restaurant at the suggestion of the YOTEL reception It was a great choice, very good food, friendly service and a very good price/quality ratio. I recommend.

Meals are full of flavor. Nice ambience, nothing too fancy. Dishes live on good olive oil, robust spices, and freshness. Always a good spot for dinner!

Cozy restaurant. Visited alone while in NYC on business. Sat at the bar, staff was very attentive. Halloumi salad was exception, but the cauliflower I ordered was soggy and under seasoned.

I went with my friends who had eaten here before. You could eat inside or outside under the awning. Coffee was great! You must try either of the options for Eggs Benedict. Yummy!!!

I am from NJ but was visiting new York the pastor of the church I visited took us here for lunch, let me tell you the food was soo delicious 😋, I had a salmon burger 🍔 which was a 1st time for me also sweet potato fries 🍟 everything was so well done, also the bun was so tasty I am a picky eater so I like that everything was healthy I will visit NY just to eat from this place again.

Not to be missed.... yes I know its on 10th AVENUE. BUT the food is that good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A must go.... great environment for date? or friends? or family? even alone! Great choices and fab tapas to entrees. PLUS the service was fantastic!!!

My wife and I tried this place for Sunday lunch before a 42nd St. matinee, and we definitely will be back. The $9 Bloody Mary was excellent. My wife had the Combination Platter ($19) which might be the best we've had of this kind (falafels were amazing); I had the Chopped Salad with Feta ($17) which was very good, but paled next to the combo platter. The Lemon Tart with Creme Fraiche ($8) -- fantastic! A double Espresso (only $4!), was the capper.

Needed a quick stop to eat before a Broadway show. Sat down here for whar turned out to be a very good meal. We first split a Octopus appetizer - very good, cooked just right. Then we had a Seafood Grill and a Duck dinner. Both meals were very good and the service was excellent as well. Next time we get here, we will try to allow for some extra time to better enjoy our meals.

We wandered in to Meme’s last night for a preshow dinner. WOW! This restaurant is truly a find. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly man who asked if we had reservations. We did not. He then kindly said,” That’s ok. We will work it out.” There were only a few empty tables. The lovely hostess found a table for us and we ordered an appetizer sampler which I highly recommend. Each spoonful of food is filled with incredible flavor. The felafel was the best I have ever eaten. My husband ordered the seafood combination. It did not disappoint. The tuna burger was a big hit. I ordered chicken kebabs and would definitely order this dish again. So many different flavors perfectly blended. Dessert was apricot brioche pudding with fresh whipped cream. Delicious. Wait staff is very attentive and competent. This restaurant is now on our list! We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience Meme.

I went to Meme on a recommendation from a New York friend who visits restaurants several times a week. So I figured he knew what he was talking about. I was soooo happy the entire time we were there. We had theatre tickets, so we went quite early through Open Table - only the second occupied table. By the time we left, the small restaurant was full. We started off with Meme Manhattans (perfect for an extremely cold evening) and a crostini platter - 3 different bread toppings, each one better than the last. For dinner, we shared Shawarma Royale and Mushroom Ravioli. I can't even put into words how delicious this food was. If I lived there, this would be a place I'd go to regularly. Can't recommend it highly enough. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped into Schmackery's Cookies for a little dessert for after the theatre.

There is a very similar two-restaurant "chain" with Jewish Moroccan food in the city - Cafe Mogador. Tough competition. We started with two items that are excellent at Mogador - Spicy Carrots and Beets and, alas, MeMe does not even come close. MeMe offered ceviche (not exactly moroccan food) that was weird but acceptable, scallops with cauliflower that were quite nice and so were the sautéed mushrooms. We had to ask (and were charged extra) for pita bread that comes free with food at Mogador. We did not luck out with the server - she was very stern and annoyed that night. Or maybe she's just like that all the time. Not the greatest attitude for the hospitality industry. MeMe is OK, but Mogador wins hands down. Also, for some reason I was not able to make a reservation for 6 PM at OpenTable, it gave me no availability, but there were tons of empty tables at 6.

This is a pleasant place. Staff very friendly, also very clean. Had lunch with my family and enjoyed it. Had a pasta with lobster special and it hit the spot. A drink mix up was quickly fixed. The mushroom soup was also good.

A small little meditarrian restaurant on 10th. Nice atmosphere and nice friendly service. Good menu with a lot of good and healthy choices! Food was very good! Recommended!!!

We were wandering the city due to a delayed cruise departure and stumbled upon this lovely and welcoming restaurant. We sat outside, enjoyed the ambiance, and the delicious food. The shakshuska was delicious. The breads brought to the table were yummy too! Wait staff was friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely go back next time we are in the city.

A middle of the road decor with outstanding food and service. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 6 and everything was very good. Entrees included Two Way Lamb, Me'Me' Couscous, Octopus, Duck, Seafood grill and a goat cheese salad.

Meme was recommended to us, and we decided to try it. This is a small restaurant with a big impact. Severs were so personal, and though we didn't have a reservation,we were shown to a nice window table. We decided to have some Mediterranean "tapas," or small plates, and they were so good: Crostini, beets, fried artichokes, ceviche--each was better than the other. We finished our dinner with their homemade baklava. Just yummy. We will return!!

Very good selection of food and nice ambiance. Nice to find a place where you can get good Moroccan food! Would definitely go back!

We had no reservations and on a tight schedule so we opted for the outside seating. Weather was not accomodating as the temps were dropping and the wind was picking up. Even if the weather was perfect you have to contend with the insane 10th Avenue traffic which is whizzing by only feet from your table. And your table is lopsided since it is sitting on the crooked sidewalk.....don't let your handbag dangle freely as you have all sorts of colorful folks wandering by on the sidewalk. I was a bit nervous that someone would grab my bag and run. All that said - if you can get a seat indoors by all means go. We had an assortment of tasty appetizers that we enjoyed immensely. Due to weather and our seating we could not stay for entrees. AND make reservations! Seating is limited so you'll want to plan ahead.

Stopped in for lunch and was thrilled with the service, atmosphere and attention to detail. I ordered a sparkling Italian rose wine to start, followed by home style, curry pea soup. It wasn't the thick, gloppy soup you usually see. Instead, it had cut up potatoes, carrots, celery, croutons and bright peas that weren't overly cooked. The lunch special was a lightly fried soft shell crab topped with avocado, arugula, sauce on a brioche roll. The crab was moist and full making a delicious sandwich served with a house salad. Even the coffee was perfect. Great find...great waitress.

There are maybe, what do you think 5 restaurants on every New York block. During a recent trip we selected this one. I decided to eat inside. There were 4 of us at the table and we all ordered differently. No one was disappointed. Prices are typical Manhattan. Small dining room.

My son had been wanting to try this restaurant and it was a treat to have excellently prepared Mediterranean delicacies. We had a combination platter that included tabouli, hummus, roasted peppers, beets, babaganush, and hot pita bread, sea bass, and an eggplant tapas (appetizer). The service was excellent and we had a wonderful dinner.

Being in the restaurant industry makes you very skeptical. So I approach every new establishment a little weary. This restaurant is a wonderful place to stumble upon. I will start by saying our waitress was outstanding. Her name was Janna and was an absolute joy. I love tapas and their menu choices were lovely. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly, and the egg roll type sea bass dish was very unique. The standout was the “lamb 2 ways”. Perfectly cooked at medium rare, succulent and very aromatic; as lamb should be. The goat cheese panne cotta was so good!! I give this place 5 stars not only because it was wonderful, but the prices were awesome for the product received. Don’t miss this place!

We were delighted to return to Meme after a long time away. We enjoyed lunch outside (just warm enough to be pleasant) and, I tucked into their chicken kebab which came with an ample portion of saffron rice, some hummus, and a bit of green salad. Just perfect! My spouse was also pleased with his seared tuna entree salad.

Small restaurant , excellent food , the humus was awesome . Good for family , nice bar . Near yotel hotel . Nice personnel.

Excellent Mediterranean food. Everything on the menu looked exquisite. We were very pleased with our meals.

This is a mix of moroccan and lebanese/greek cuisines I would say. The food was very tasty and service friendly. A bit disappointed with desserts though but highly recommend this place.

Adorable place with great food! We were on a trip, 3 girls, and hated having too much food that we had to leave, so we got 2 things and all shared and it was perfect. Very kind staff. Cute pictures!

Had dinner here last night for the first time. None of the apps really stood out so we went right to the entrees. She had the Black seabass special. Came with a couple nice shrimp and was served on rice, but we were able to substitute a salad for the carbs. I had the steak frites and the steak was very good, with lots of garlic and parsley on it as ordered. Au poivre is also an option. Excellent pear sorbet and lemon tart for dessert finished off the meal nicely.

had a lovely brunch of lobster, potatoes, eggs, bacon. served piping hot. bloody mary was well spiced! service was little off, coffee refills were slow. there was a bit of a draft at the front table -- tables a bit close together.

Meme took us by surprise—we were headed to one of our usual tried-and-true spots for lunch but got tired of walking and were hungry. And suddenly, there in front of us was MeMe. Meme's really excellent food and terrific service is served up in a nicely appointed storefront located next to an alleyway-locally grown food market. Tenth Ave is a little noisy, so we opted for indoor seating: The room was full but not crazy-loud as so many small restaurants can be. A bread board included first rate mini-corn muffins, fruit bread, and seeded bread with good quality butter and a house-made mixed berry jam. An octopus tapa with fennel was perfectly cooked, tender, and well-marinated—as good, if not better, than any I have eaten in octopus heavens in Greece and Turkey. An order of seared tuna over well-dressed greens was pronounced "outstanding" by our well-travelled foodie son. A short rib burger was served on a very good bun. Only the fries lacked finesse. They could have been cooked a little longer or in hotter oil. As is, we'd give then a rating of 'meh.' All-in-all, we'll be back!!

My partner and I visited NYC last week and were staying nearby. Quite by chance we strolled down 10th Avenue and said "this place looks interesting" We were greeted by extremely friendly staff who sat us at a table and provided wonderful service. The food is utterly amazing and we will return! From what we could tell everyone was equally satisfied with the food.

Meme has maybe the best mixed maze in the city, but the tangines tend to be too sweet and too soupy. The room is pretty, the service is friendly, and there are some nice wine selections. The octopus appetizer was a well-balanced salad but a bit skimpy on the octopus.

This restaurant is fantastic. A very unassuming place from the outside but the food was incredible. A very good wine list too. They had a selection of Mediterranean wines we had never tried before.

Loved coming here when we lived in the city. Had dinner here last night (I got the cous cous with chicken, merguez sausage, and vegetables), and it was great, as usual! The octopus appetizer was tasty and and definitely worth another go round next time we go there. Also a good place for brunch too.

Friendly, and very innovative. Thoroughly enjoyable. The salmon was terrific. I had the lobster risotto that was to die for. The staff was over the top friendly.

I have only been to this restaurant twice, once last week and then also a few years ago. I remember the lamb burger being amazing but this last time it was very dry. They cook it medium so ask for medium rare if you want a burger that is not dry. It comes with a nice little salad and delicious fries. They also have a nice tapas menu. I would try it again for sure.

A tasty menu of small plates perfect for the 3 of us to share. Great service to go with great and fun food. The restaurant was full and we could still hear each other.

We are regular customers at this restaurant. We come here for lunch every day and spend hundreds of dollars a week at this restaurant. We normally like the food very much but after today we're not coming back to this restaurant. in the evening we wanted to stop by to have a dessert and sat down, after that the manager or owner walked up to us and very rudely said we don't serve desserts- dinner only! I said what do you mean dinner only ? we come here every day for lunch - we just want to have dessert. He said you need to have a reservation. I said well you could've said that from the beginning - do you have a reservation? if not please make a reservation and then we will accommodate you, but you said- we do not serve desserts -we serve dinner only.this is very very rude! considering that we are regular clients at this restaurant and spent a lot of money here. We Will not be coming back to this restaurant and they just lost us as regular customers.

Excellent hummus. Husband had octopus and raved about it. The risotto was good, lamb burger was a bit too much garlic and too spicy hot. Tapas selection was excellent. Nice server fast and friendly. Reasonable prices

Awesome food, had the wild såuteed mushroom and spinach, the moussaka, the hummus and falafel dish and the fig enchilada-like dish. Service OK the sub-service staff was great though. Will go back for sure!

Spent an enjoyable evening with friends and it must be a popular restaurant as it was busy on a weekday night. We shared a selection of dishes some of which were medicore for what we were being charged. Service was good even though it was busy.

We got the last table on a drizzly evening and while it was crowded and noisy, the food worked its magic. The fried artichokes were superb, as always, and the shrimp on watermelon cubes pink and luscious. Different tastes here to pique the palate!

After seeing a show, we picked this Mediterranean restaurant to eat dinner. The food is delicious. Everything was tasty, service was great. We tried many appetizers, 4 entrees - the fish special was incredible. My husband had the duck and licked his fingers. As Israeli's we are very particular about our falafel. These falafel were authentic. Desserts too are very tasty. All in all a really great way to end the evening with such a good meal.

Okay, so 'bang-o-delish' is our shorthand for 'this restaurant was amazing!' We'd been to Meme in the village, but tonight was our first visit to their outpost on 10th avenue. I can't say enough good things! Such a lovely dining room, attentive staff, great menu, and the food! The food! We loved everything we had! The grilled octopus--perfection. A chopped mediterranean salad--outstanding. The fish tacos--miraculous! I think we found our new favorite place.

A charming little place with friendly service and a unique spin on brunch - Mediterranean style. Food is presented well and very tasty. Our group especially loved the breads brought out to the table after our orders had been taken. There are several locations around NYC. This one is quite small. Our group of four were fortunate to be seated in a corner where we could hear one another and had enough room for our food and drinks on the table. We all agreed we would come back to this gem of a brunch spot in the future.

When you are in a restaurant it is not only the food it counts. It is absolutely not possible to talk to your neighbor. Terribly noisy that your ears bangs. Eatable food but nothing more.

Stopped here for lunch while sightseeing. The ambiance is pleasant and the service very good. The food was a mixed bag. A lamb burger and salads were average but a chicken dish and egg dish were excellent.

we had 4 "small plates' between the two of us. salad, foire gras , mushrooms with spinach, and chicken tacos. then the choc. lava cake for dessert. everything was excellent. We had read about the manager in previous writings , but found him to be exceptionally pleasant.

Cute environment, very friendly and efficient service and amazing food! My partner and I shared tacos, mousaka, grilled octopus, fried artichoke hearts and an apricot bread pudding. Everything was amazing!

We loved the meal but the service was very slow. Waited about 35 minutes before we made our order and all they did was gave us 2 glasses of water . The meal was really good so hence the four stars.

My daughter and I were going to a play at 8 PM on 44th St. last Saturday night. At the very last minute, I was looking online for a restaurant and found this lovely little place right on 44th and 10th. Booked what was probably the last table for 6:45. Couldn't have been better! Managed to park my car a few blocks up on 10th Ave. right before 7 PM (it's legal after 7). So we got there a little after 7. We had about 45 minutes to order, eat, and pay the check. We like to eat light food before the theater, so we ordered three items from the appetizer menu (which we were told would also help us timewise). All three were excellent!! And it was an ample amount for us. We had the scallops appetizer, the hummus plate, and my daughter also had the gnocchi. We even had time for coffee! The waiter was really helpful in getting us seen to efficiently, which we very much appreciated, and we made our curtain with plenty of time to spare. Love mediterranean food and LOVE this place. We will definitely be back!!!

Just recently stumbled across this restaurant, and so happy that we did. Great menu and good quality - love the tapas selection! Friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back.

We walked by this restaurant on our way to an afternoon play and it looked lovely. We returned for an early dinner and the food and service was excellent.

A great neighborhood find. Terrific. Don’t miss it. Looking for something local, Greek and small. This was it. Romantic!

I like Meme on the quiet side of Hell's Kitchen. I have never had anything but a good meal including one evening coq au vin, of all things, that was perfection. The menu is couture Mediterranean, with bright service that responds to diners with theater tickets. Reservation recommended, in fact I think impt. as tables become filled by 7-7:15.

Took our college daughter and her best friend to Meme for dinner. Small, intimate setting with plenty of locals eating there. We ordered small plates to share and loved each one and them had dinner as well! The menu is vast so everyone will find something they will love. Our server, Becca, was friendly, attentive but not bothersome. The prices were reasonable and we all tried new Mediterranean dishes for the fist time and everyone at our table loved their dish! Highly recommend!

My old college buddy and I met for dinner. He lives near this restaurant and spoke highly of it. Overall, I was quite pleased. I have two beefs - the noise level in the busy dining room made it a bit difficult to converse and the appetizer we shared, stuffed figs, only 4, were good, but I thought it was a skimpy portion for $16. My friend was pleased with his steak and I enjoyed ther sole special. The panda cotta for dessert and a cappuccino topped the meal off nicely. Our young lady server was friendly, efficient, and gracious.

It’s a solid experience. A little tired off of 10th, a bit small, but the prices are reasonable and the food is very good. Not fancy, more comfortable. Somewhat limited menu delivered by friendly efficient waitstaff. Wine list is fairly priced and decent choices. It is really for convenience if you are in the Theatre District, and don’t want to overspend, and like tapas and wine. Good date spot

Meme serves very good Mediterranean/Moroccan/North African dishes, beautifully seasoned and extremely savoury. Most of their tapas-style smaller plates are well-suited for sharing; our party of four was able to share easily everything but the meatballs (only 3 per order). Two plates per person should be enough for average appetites, but a hungry group might do a couple more. The dining room has hard acoustics, so a large group of rowdy diners drove us to the sidewalk seating area, where we enjoyed our meal in relative peace (even the passing sirens were preferable to the racket from the large party. Under normal circumstances, the noise should be tolerable inside -- the proprietor is sensitive to potential noise problems and doesn't amp up the sound system unnecessarily. They also feature a nice beer list, always great with this type of food.

Honestly don’t know where to start. We walked in for reservations and have waitress immediately directed us to a nice corner table. Very friendly and professional. We ordered the special and a couple of appetizers. Wow. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered did not disappoint at all. The Hummus and the shakshuka. We ordered the special. It was a mix of seafood with chickpeas and rice. The flavoring was amazingly tasty and I requested to see the chef to thank him for his wonderful cocking. Truly would go back again as the experience was just perfect. Btw. Don’t forget to order the Arak.

I have nothing but praise for this establishment. Great presentation, great tasting food, very cordial and super attentive staff. When I travel to New York again, I will definitely be back...more than once.

Went here with a friend on her coworker's recommendation because we were looking for a place offering small plates. Greeted by manager and offered great corner window seating up front. Started with red beet salad and Meme's chopped salad to share. Both were very good and we were starting to get full but had ordered 2 more plates. Server was quite agreeable when we explained, no problem cancelling and even suggested which of the 2 we should take. Delicious red snapper "cigars" (snapper wrapped in spring roll phylo) - spicy dish with creamy dip. Filled with locals, place got quite noisy as tables filled up around us, but still enjoyable evening. Definitely would go again, especially to try additional menu items!

I live locally and my girlfriends and I love coming here for a coffee and a traditional mediterranean breakfast on a Sunday morning. We don’t book and try and get a table and the staff are very accommodating even if we need to wait at the bar for 10 minutes. I’d recommend the big breakfast and ask for warm pita on the side. The orange juice is really fresh and the coffees are really good. Worth a visit, also if it’s not too hot you can sit outside.

Visited Meme twice on my trip and both times, the dishes were excellent. The seafood platter was great (mini tuna burger, shrimp, scallops, salmon and hummus/pitta) and was very tasty indeed. Also had the Special on my first visit, a shrimp risotto - very nice and this came with either a soup or salad. Wine by the glass $15. Staff attentive and the atmosphere was lovely at lunchtime. Well worth a visit for good service, tasty food and a varied menu with a twist.

This is our go to spot for Mediterranean food in the West Village. We have been there during the day and prefer it to the night scene which is more frantic and suitable for the crowd that likes more frantic and alcohol infused evenings. We, a more mature couple, love the food and as wise elders go to this restaurant in the afternoon when it is not crowded. Also, the lunch menu is more focused on tapas type portions. The key thing, ignoring ambiance, is that the food here is excellent and we will continue to visit when we are in NYC.

ThisTurkish/pan-Mediterranean on 10th Sve is well worth the hike from the subway. Prices are good, and specialties like lamb shank are terrific. They also do well by fish. Just try not to sit at the windows on a cold night

One of those serendipitous finds. Caught in the rain while walking in the west village - just happened to be here. Hummus, Falafel, Octopus, Merguez, Mussels, Kebabs - all delicious, all fairly priced, all served on heaping plates. Pretty little room with efficient, friendly service. Will go back again....and again.

In Hell’s Kitchen this place was a gem. Lively crowd, and inviting atmosphere. The service was very attentive and the owner Jacob was as personable as they come. Our table all tried different dishes and each person was very please with their meals. I had the organic salmon with veggies with risotto and was I extremely happy. This dish was full of flavor and the fish was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was I wanted a bigger portion because it was that good. It was however the perfect size portion for normal eaters lol Not only would I recommend this place, but I will now make it a point to stop in whenever I’m in town 👍👍

A very enjoyable visit with good food and wine. Comfortable indoor seating with additional space outside. The portions are fairly large and I found two smaller dishes to be more than enough. I particularly enjoyed the grilled octopus salad. I would happily return. The dishes suggested a North African influence rather than Greek or Spanish- lots of lemon in the dressing.

We were in Manhattan for a matinee and saw this relatively new Mediterranean Restaurant, so thought we would give it a try. We both had the seared tuna salad which was fresh and delicious without dressing (we had it on the side and didn't use it). We also shared an order of their hummus which was equally as good. Just glancing at the menu, we saw at least a half dozen other entrees and dishes that we would love to try, and believe me.... we will be going back to try some of them. Friendly wait-staff. Our only suggestion would be to try to get a table towards the front of the restaurant: they have a bus cart in the back just outside the kitchen, and the dish noise as they are dumped onto the cart is a bit noisy. If you are driving to the City as we do, there are a few garages along 10th Avenue and you can printing coupons for them (generally $20 for six hours), making this a great stop on your way over to the theater district.

This is a charming little bistro with an inventive Mediterranean menu. The service was friendly and attentive, the plates came out looking great and in a timely fashion. It is in the high-mid to upper price range($$$) and, for those unaccustomed to NYC prices, it could be a shock. I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu!

ok. maybe not so perfect to some. sirens blaring on 10th ave, people smoking all over the place (outside) and the constant ttaffic a few feet away and the exhaust fumes but hey-- that is NY. sat outside since it was a beautiful day. good choice. had the steak frites, pretty good. for dessert, i had the creampuff like pastry on vanilla ice cream (sorry cannot remember the name) but yummy. service was awesome, very nice staff and very attentive. i would definitely come back again.

This dining experience was a bit disappointing. The octopus tapas was not very good. Vey plainly seasoned and did not taste fresh. Salmon entree ordered medium came out much too well done. Waiter was nice in replacing with a properly cooked version, which was very good though portion was small. In general, portions are small relative to price. Other dishes were just average. Wrote this review as the high rating does not appear to be justified based on tonight's experience. Lastly, maitre d had an unpleasant attitude.

Very good service, mediocre meal, outrageous pricing, couldn’t hear ourselves think. The noise from other diners was outrageous, couldn’t leave quick enough - very disappointing.

Great food, very efficient and friendly service, great value for money. Nice menu choices. I had salmon and was very well done. Very tasty .

We were relaxing in the neighbourhood and we were captivated by the appearance of Meme, the menu & specials looked great as well as the fact the place was bustling... We went for the Merguez Sausage starter, followed by chicken kebabs, simple options but well presented, well seasoned and absolutely delicious!! The Chicken Schwarma special had sold out so will call ahead next time in NYC to request it... Service was spot on too, keep it up guys!!

We stopped for lunch at Meme on a Saturday and had a wonderful meal. It is a small place with a patio and a mix of communal and stand-alone seating. The menu is focused on Moroccan cuisine and the prices are reasonable. I had the combination platter and the falafels were as good as I have ever had. They also serve beer and wine. Service was good. No qualms recommending this place for a nice meal.

we saw this place and thought we would go for dinner but as it happened we went for our last meal in NYC which was a late lunch. The menu looked great and I saw several things I really wanted but we both went for the mix platter of salad fries humous and dip and chicken kebab. Our order came within minutes but as soon as the plate was laid in front of me I could see from the skewers it was not going to be as good as it good and I was right. The chicken skewers were small and overcooked. The flat bread wasn't flat and the dip too oily. There was lots of salad which made the plate look full but not so much of the meat as I had hoped. Sweet server but disappointing.

I've been walking past for the better part of a year. Since before the pandemic and now after. I'm very glad I finally grabbed an outdoor table for dinner last week. Nice wine selection. Attentive service. Really nice piece of fish. I wish I'd been hungry enough to sample a dessert. So I will have to go back for that.

It was not difficult to get reservations on Wednesday night however while we were there they were completely full and only accepted walk-ins in the outside sidewalk area. Service was quick as they expected people to be in the hurry (that said we did not feel rushed) Food solid as expected given prices/type of restaurant.

I was impressed with the friendly staff and service at this Mediterranean and Moroccan fusion restaurant. Like most small NY eateries it is a bit noisy...but we could hear one another without screaming. Food was good and beautifully presented. Sharing one bottle of wine, sharing one starter and three entrees worked out to be about $60 per person including tip. The halibut special on this evening was superb.

We were greeted with "Do you have a reservation" which we did not but they took our party of 6. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with the menu and specials they had that morning. We all ordered off the regular menu and were pleased with the quality and quantity of food. It was worth the walk and search to find the place.

This is a quiet and cozy place in Hell’s Kitchen. Great ambiance and nice small plates that are Greek inspired. The food is flavorful and very good (but perhaps not worth the price). If you’re going to spend the money, seek other options that give you a more foodie experience.

wonderful food. Never miss a chance to frequent the place whenever we're in nyc. You should order in advance. There is another restaurant on hudson and bank. Same food. Chose the one closest to you

Excellent for the brunch we had. a real hood gem. Had the Shashouka. was spiced brilliantly. lamb sausage was suggested as an extra. was excellent. Hubbie has the mediterranean playe. really liked it very easy and pleasant vibe. pleasant staff

Food’s delicious, service is good! We had the sprouts and the mushrooms as a starter and the fish grill and lamb chops as main.

After walking around for a bit (actually more than a bit: it's NYC, let's be honest), my husband and I saw people eating at Meme and decided to stop based on how yummy the food looked. We wanted to sit outside, but they wanted us to sit inside. They won, which turned out to be fine overall. The service was good as was the food. I really wanted some tzatziki and hummus, so I go the chicken kabobs which came with both. It also came with fries, which I didn't want, but turned out to be amazing. They were perfectly crispy and I ate them all. ALL. My husband got the Merguez- an appetizer, but enough food for a lunchtime meal- and said it was great. He even liked the hummus, which he usually hates. Overall, this was a great impromptu find. Definitely recommended.

Lots of options. Full of flavor and texture. Great place to come with a small group to sample different combinations. Prompt, attentive service. Prices are moderate. The gnocchi was "melt in your mouth" goodness. Lamb burger with goat cheese was a nice twist on the typical American favorite. The fries on the side were first rate. Hummus was the real deal with oven-fresh, warm, sliced pita.

It has a nice, dimly lit ambiance, a great bartender from England who knows how to make several varieties of Manhattans, a friendly attentive wait staff and a tasty tapas menu. We had the octopus, gnocchi, mushroom and cauliflower tapas and they were all great.

Meme's offer Mediteranian specialities in a friendly and relaxed athmosphere. Very good and fast service.

Walked in off street and asked for table that evening. No probs. Nice vibe and attractive layout/decor. Seafood was excellent, we had two different dishes - the brandino (sea bass to non Americans) and the scallops/shrimps stew. Wide selection of decent wine. Service excellent, recommended.

What a gem! Great service, great atmosphere, great food, great drinks. And all for a reasonable price! Highly recommend visiting

Meme offers excellent Mediterranean food, with an especially appealing range of appetizers to share but it is let down by an unpleasant degree of pressure on guests to eat quickly and leave--exactly what you don't expect in an authentic Mediterranean restaurant.

I just love this place. I went for my birthday and had the amazing lobster risotto but have tried many of their dishes including the seafood platter. The also have the best moten lava cake I've had in the city.

I loved this restaurant that was recommended by the YOTEL reception. Very good food, friendly service and very affordable. I recommend

Our friend had been wanting to eat at this restaurant for some time. It's a perfect place for a before-theater meal, or any meal really. We did five tapas plates and the couscous dinner to share among the three of us. They have a full bar and their house cocktails are excellent.

We were walking around in West Village. Saw sev real people seated outside at this cafe, so decided to take a chance. So glad we did. Very fresh Mediterranean Salad and chicken kebab platter. Our daughter, who works nearby, said she really likes it too.

We have always liked Meme and this was our first visit since before the pandemic. We sat inside at a corner table (no one else was nearby, the door to the outside was open, and they had taken our temperatures). We ordered the fried artichokes with dipping sauces, the meatballs tapa with yogurt and mint, and a chopped salad with chicken. Everything was delicious and fresh! We’d forgotten how good their artichokes were, the salad had cucumber, bits of tomato and a few chickpeas and a wonderful dressing, and the meatballs were a bit different in a good way. We added a glass of Albariño to top it off. Efficient service and just plain perfect all around!

It was good, we arrived just after the rain, sat outdoors and enjoyed the atmosphere. The good was ok and the wine pretty expensive.

The Hell's Kitchen area is not the most touristy but makes the restaurant prices probably more reasonable. The name and layout of the room catch our attention. Very kind and fast service, a map that is a bit out of the ordinary, as are the wall reproductions that feature stamps from former colonial Morocco. These Mediterranean influences can be found on the map. Our tacos were excellent. To discover.

We had a reservation for three, specifically for an outdoor table. The goal was for an immunocompromised cancer patient to avoid being exposed to Covid during the latest surge. We wanted a table in the sun and in the open air. There were many such tables available when we arrived. Instead the owner/manager said those were for two persons or four persons (we had three). Instead, we were put in a plastic enclosed shed in the street shared with numerous other patrons. No amount of pleading would change this guy's mind. Maybe this behavior is symptomatic of the setup he has created. Rather than delegate seating to a young and friendly staff member he makes seating customers into his personal ego trip to dominate and control.other people. Run far away from this place. If you do not encounter this problem while getting seated, you will encounter it sometime later in the meal. To him the customer is always wrong, and he will make no effort to compromise or accommodate you in any way. He sees it as an ego -driven opportunity to bully you. Stay away.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the food at this reasonably priced restaurant. Lots of Mediterranean and North African favourites to choose from, the portions are more generous than the average and the service is great. It is lovely to sit outside on a nice warm evening and the ambience created here is great. COMBINATION PLATTER $19 (babaganoush, hummus, beets, tabouli, falafel, matbucha, carrots, roast peppers) - great starter for 4 people and plenty to go at. Absolutely delicious spices. SHAWARMA ROYALE: LAMB, FILET MIGNON, CHICKEN $27 (moroccan spices, amba, tahini, pickled eggplant, black lentil and tabouli) - well worth it! I wouldn't normally spend this much on a main course but the presentation, quantity and side plates were superb. Seafood Grill $27 (salmon kebab, sea scallops, mini spicy tuna burger, shrimp, chopped salad, humus, basmati rice, green charmoula sauce) - stunning presentation and the quantity of food justifies the price I think. Delicious spices

One of the best branzinos I've ever had. Really solid mezze/tapas situation as well. Cocktails were awesome too.

After searching for somewhere for dinner in Hell’s Kitchen, we settled on Meme. The staff were delightful & the food was delicious. I had the seafood grill which gave a nice variety of different seafoods with salad, rice & humus. This huge serving would have been sufficient for two. The bread and dip starter was a surprising addition to the service.

Had a great meal here, 4 different orders all tasted great and enjoyed. The Meme Couscous with lamb and chicken was different but tasted great. The salmon and risotto was so good that it has recreated at home. Only downside was no gluten free bread. Puddings were also good - chocolate cake and baklava were excellent.

We had an adequate meal here. Nothing special. The babaganoush was bland. The salads were very good with fresh ingredients but the salads & the main corses were brought together, so we let our main course sit there while we ate our salads. The vegetarian lasagna is good, had lots of cheese & a tasty tomato sauce. The grilled shrimp risotto was bland and the shawarma royale did not have a lot of flavor either. The service was friendly and the interior is nicely decorated. Overall is was a pleasant experience but not a place we can rave about.

Six of us shared 7 appetizers- cauliflower, hummus, artichokes, combination platter, Brussels spouts, moussaka, and baked meatballs. Then to the chocolate lava cake and the lemon pie. All excellent. Good wines. Not noisy. Intimate.

Small, quaint corner restaurant in the heart of NYC’s Hell’s Kitchen, and just blocks some from the Theater District. The Falafel was the best I’ve ever had; the Greek salad was refreshing and perfectly portioned; perfect, simply seasoned Chicken Shwarma was delicious!

Enjoy an extensive selection of North African/Mediterranean items. Best to share so that you can explore many different flavours and treats. Great for a pre-theatre meal without the tourist prices

We were looking for a Greek/Mediterranean place before 8pm show and my niece found this one. They don't take reservations for less that 4 people but assured us that if we arrived before 6:30p they could likely seat us. At 6:15p they did. We shared a sampler plate for appetizer that included beets, carrots, hummus, roasted red peppers, babaganoosh, tabouli, and pita bread. Very tasty and very colorful. Next we shared the potato gnocchi with veal and meat marinara sauce, also delish. Being my birthday, we shared the cannoli filled with chocolate and white chocolate cream ornamented with raspberries. A candle was placed in a dollop of the white chocolate cream for my birthday wish candle. The dessert was average but the appetizer and main selection were very good. Price point was also reasonable., and the service was adequate Will eat here again.

Good selection of traditional Mediterranean food with a modern original twist; something for all palates and food requirements. The service is good, as is the noise level. A solid place to have dinner!

great meals all round , we had salmon, steak and chicken tagine - all were very good and different to most of the other restaurants we'd been to in the area in the type of menu and ingredients used - nice to have a Mediterranean twist in New York - good value too. The service was top notch too.

Place looks nice, but unfortunately we had to leave right after being given a table. The owner who has an extremely short temper was obviously very unpleased to have us in his restaurant. Basically, I came in with my wife and one year old child, who was sleeping in his stroller, the waitress was wonderful, but the owner interrupted her suddenly and raised his voice with us, insisting that it would be possible for us to stay... Definitely ruined our evening...

Very nice place for a dinner before a show. The service was good and food tasty. We were not disappointed. We arrived when they opened at 5 and by the time we left there were many more people there. Very polite and helpful staff.

My friends and I ate here before a theater performance and loved the ambience, service, and fabulous food! For starters, we had deliciously creamy ricotta gnocchi and duck rice, which was incredibly delicious and exceeded all our expectations. My entree was the Branzino Limon, and I have been daydreaming about it ever since.

I had a wonderful lunch here. The salmon is delicious and the kebab platter was too. Above average service.

We are here last night and the food was delicious. We shared a combination platter for starters and had Shwarma Royale for a main. Perfect size portions. Only criticisms - the wine selection is not particularly great (and overpriced too) and the waiting staff have a tendency to clear plates before you've actually finished, making you feel a little rushed.

Absolutely the worst experience in 7 days in New York City! We reserved a table for 2 persons for last Saturday evening (Christmas Eve) at 9 pm but, when we arrived there (also 15 minutes earlier), a waiter told us that the kitchen was closed and we could not have dinner even if we had a reservation. It has been unacceptable, in 31 years I’ve never seen something like this!

Wanted to come to this place and was so disappointed. I feel even worse because I brought friends. 1. Food - mixed of everything in this world in 1 plate. 2. Service - absolutely shocking. During 3 weeks in US never seen anything like that. We couldn’t paid the way we wanted. We were 5. They told us only 4 cards excepted and at the end only 2. It’s really ridicules. For sure not coming back. Not customer oriented

I loved eating here and ate every bite. We had the Mezze Plate, Beet Salad and the Boccatelli. Everything was perfect. We sat outside which was quite lovely. I went inside to use the bathroom and it was really loud with lots of echoes. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an intimate evening but if you want delicious tasting food, it's your spot. Lots of veggie options.

I enjoyed probably the best Pork Chop I've ever had. The flavour was indescribably good. So good in fact we went back for more!

I have been here several times and the food has been consistently good. the service was not great but has been getting better and better each time and is now fine. recently had the lamb burger- great taste. albeit overcooked.

Wonderful neighborhood Gem in the heart of Hells Kitchen, NYC. We enjoyed a lovely Brunch outside beginning with an Aperol and a Sangria MeMe brought warm mini corn muffins and rustic raisin bread with butter & jam to start our meal! I had MeMe Breakfast which was 3 eggs Scrambled , pita and a chopped salad with feta. Just yummy Hubby had MeMe Brunch... a plate with French Toast, a Mini Bagel with Salmon & Cream Cheese, Herb Scrambled Eggs and Greek Yogurt, Granola and Fresh Berries. Great way to begin our Sunday!! Staff are so friendly!!! Food is Amazing! Simply Delicious!!!

We just happened into this place walking around on a Sunday nightand truly enjoyed our meal the wait staff was great, as was our meals. We arrived early but it filled up fast.

My husband and I ate dinner there on Saturday night. The restaurant was full and yet we felt very well cared for! We ordered off the small plates menu and each one was better than the next! The octopus was the best we've ever had! It was such a great dinner and I can't wait to get back to New York to visit again!

Recently ate dinner here. Food was very good. We sat at an outside table and enjoyed people watching while we ate. Service was good and we were pleased with everything. The appetizer sampler was a little less than stunning for the price, but entrees were very good. We had the lamb and duck.

We had tickets for an off broadway show at the Pearl theater. Found it on open table. It is not a well decorated place but it did offer a warm feel when we entered. Our server was outstanding and knew just the rite times to show up to take our orders , fill water glass etc. the small plates were more than enough food and were plated nicely and full flavored. We will be back.

Cute and charming place on the 10th avenue, which I walked past a few times and finally decided to try on a Sunday lunchtime. It was never really busy whenever I passed and it was the same when I went in. Got a table without reservation no problem, and there were many to choose from. The decor is lovely. Staff very attentive (there were 6 of them for maybe 15 of us guests) but maybe a bit too eager to clear the plates. Food was delicious and portions the right size (not oversized, as I find is most common in America!). I ordered eggs benedict which came with a side of a selection of breads, butter and jam. Cappuccino was delicious too! Left the cafe feeling full, satisfied and not robbed of my money.

After about 1.5 hour of brunch the waiter dropped the check without asking if we wanted something else. Then the manager rudely came over and asked if we could get up as he had other reservations coming. From the looks of it this was not true. The table next to us also heard this and complained about how rude it was.

Three of us ate dinner here on Sunday evening. We started with the babaganoush which was good but needed more pita wedges. The halibut was delicious and cooked perfectly. My daughter had the seafood grilled and loved it, especially the tuna burger. My husband enjoyed the two way lamb dish. Unfortunately, the lava cake with vanilla ice cream was terrible and we left it there. The ice cream had no flavor and a strange texture. The cake was not good either. Normally we would have sent it back but my daughter is easily embarrassed. We would definitely go again but just not order dessert.

My second time here and the small plates are great. The staff was nice and attentive. Ordered too much food - I would suggest two plates per person.

We had a very nice lunch sharing a shawarma royale platter & a chopped salad. Both were delicious. We stopped it off with cappuccinos which also were very good. Service was a bit slow, but if you like to linger, it's a good choice.

The best food hands down that we had dinner wise, we had the chicken kebabs to start beautifullll. I had the lemon chicken which was amazing and even the big portion didn’t sway me from not finishing it, and my partner had the lamb burger which again he said was the best dinner he’d had since we’d been In New York. The chips were perfect and of course we had to have dessert which was chocolate cake and again it was perfect. The atmosphere was so lovely, dimly lit and music played added to our experience and our waitress was so attentive we really couldn’t of asked for more for our last night of our holiday, this restaurant is a must!!

The foie gras on brioche toast is a must do! So many inviting plates on the menu, it's hard to stay sane. Coming back again.

Not knowing much about Hell's Kitchen we decided to try some tapas. We started with the ricotta gnocchi with truffle cream and baked meatballs with onion, yogurt, mint which were excellent and we ordered seconds of each. We also had the sautéed wild mushroom with garlic and ginger over spinach; seared sea scallops celery/parsnip purée, wilted kale, almond pesto; grilled octopus with chickpeas and mesclun fennel salad in tomato lemon vinaigrette; slow-cooked shortrib broccoli rabe, farro, red wine, horseradish, blue cheese cream. The service was great. Everything was very tasty and the only issue was the pricing. Ordering all these tapas at an average of $14 can get a little steep. But, next time in NYC we will be back!

I recently dined here after a day of sightseeing with friends. What attracted our group to eating here was the delicious aroma lingering in the air despite the location of a busy street in NYC. My husband ate the grilled octopus which he stated was very good. I had the hummus and the chicken kabob. I have to say that if in the area, I would certainly consider dining here again. Good food, good service, and a lovely atmosphere. These are the essentials to a good restaurant experience. I like the portion size, enough to be full, but not gorged! The portions were also perfect to share, and we did!

The menu and food were good, but management could not have been more rude and unaccommodating to the point that I was embarrassed that I brought my family here. The manager raised his voice and argued with us ruining not only our dinner, but other patrons’ as well. Will not return.

I adore Meme, and meet there with friends fir dinner whenever I am in New York. It's small and always packed, and a bit noisy, but the neighborhood's gorgeous, the interior design charming, the wine list very nice, and the food terrific, varied, and consistently well prepared, with a very good price range. I never tire of the menu - so many lovely dishes to explore.

I have been going to meme for years and always loved it till a couple of weeks ago. My wife contracted shigella (a severe food poisoning) after tasting an undercooked Moroccan breakfast dish (probably prepared by someone who was not wearing gloves and did not wash his hands after going to the bathroom). She ended up at the hospital with high fever while pregnant. (the baby could have died) When I called the restaurant to mention politely she probably contracted her sickness there, the waitress was so rude that I promised to myself to never go back again.. And when I received the 31,000 USD hospital bill this morning, I decided to share the information with yelp users..

I love this place. Everything on the menu is amazing. U can't go wrong. Whether you want to share dishes with friends or dine solo. It is a small neighborhood restaurant so make a reservation or be prepared to wait for a table. Well worth the wait. They always have delicious fresh specials. Their hummus is to die for.

The food and service were perfect the evening my wife and I took two of our adult children who live in the area for dinner. We shared many small plates and the hummus, falafel and moussaka were so well executed we ordered more. We all ordered an entree and one extra and shared again - every dish was enjoyed. Service was attentive, polite and very helpful. We ate outside that evening - we've been inside on another occasion - and I would be less than honest if I didn't mention that that night in June the trees that lined the avenue were dropping tons of debris on the table - this is absolutely no reflection on the restaurant but rather a warning to diners in late June. Every other aspect of the evening, including the check, was wonderful.

Tenth Avenue can be a dismal stretch but this newer restaurant is a bright spot! Has outdoor seating but it was way too hot to sit outside. Lots of mediterranean specialities. Great service. start with comp olive bread and olive oil. Had the laffa taco (not sure spelling - $13 with chicken - I requested shrimp for an additional $3) - this is something like a pita but smaller and thicker folded in half with hummus and tahini and shrimp. Also table had roasted cauliflower ($9), grilled octopus salad ($15), and another laffa taco with shwarma chicken ($13).

Good spot for Hell’s Kitchen dinner. Mediterranean cuisine leans towards Israel and Morocco. Usually full of enthusiastic eaters. Yet you can walk in without a reservation. Try the tapas with wild mushrooms over spinach.

My new goto restaurant. The menu is varied and thoughtful and soooo delicious. Roasted cauliflower, beet salad, mezzes, wow to the seafood linguine, love the chopped salad with chicken for lunch. The atmosphere is simple and elegant. The staff is a delight. I feel so at home here and would love to have this place as my kitchen.

After the Whitney Museum we looked for a place for brunch. Cute little place with friendly staff. Had the Shakshuka Moroccan breakfast. 3 eggs poached in tomato pepper and onions and tahini. It is served with pita. Very good and I saw other people ordering and was told it was a specialty. Bloody Mary was premixed but very good. A few slices of bread were placed on the table while we waited for our meals, that were very good. People next to us had the egg white frittata, a good choice for our return visit.

We stopped for lunch ordering the shawarma royale and chicken kebabs, both were delicious. Food was tasty and a nice light option on such a hot day. Service was excellent and nice atmosphere in outdoor seating area in front of restraunt. It was busy but did not feel overcrowded. Would definitely return.

I wasn’t too much into Mediterranean but this place made me change my mind. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. Service was good but I could not great. I felt a little pressure to leave even if we didn’t stay that long. Food came also pretty quickly. We had a rush to finish our bottle of wine. That’s why I’m not giving it 5 stars

We generally had good experience with this place in the past. Few days ago we visited it again. While the food and service were good and prices reasonable, we were charged $10 for a medium size bottle of San Pellegrino. The price was not posted anywhere and came as a very unpleasant surprise at the end.

Stopped here after a matinee on 42nd Street -- friendly atmosphere, helpful service, pleasant decor. We shared an excellent salad highlighted by roasted butternut squash and halloumi cheese, followed by delicious moussaka, plus a grilled octopus with salad that was good but overly vinegary. Wine seemed overpriced at $14 for a skimpy pour.

Tuesday , September 27,2016 at approximately 2:10pm, I entered the Meme Mediterranean restaurant, Hell's Kitchen location, sat at the bar and intended to order food for lunch. Two male, and one female server walked pass me several times, looked me directly in the face, quickly shifted their glances, and did not greet me, nor ask me if I wanted to purchase a drink, or if even I was interested in seeing a menu. Mean while, as I patiently waited to be served, I observed three woman, who appeared to be of European decent, walk into the establishment, immediately one of the servers greeted the women, and informed them that, they would be able to serve them shortly. After sitting at said bar for 10 or more minutes continuing to behave in a civil manner, I asked a gentleman, (who I later discovered is the establishments owner/ manager) who I did not notice earlier while waiting to be serviced, "is anyone working at the bar?" ,his response was, "yes" and he stated, "oh I thought you ordered already. Upon receiving my order, I respectfully asked for the check and did not touch a single item of food. Said manager expressed concern about my decision not to eat, and he encouraged me to rethink my choice and stay instead. My decision however was final, and said manager decided not to charge me for the service. Once our social exchange was complete I left the area without further incident. We are in the year 2016 and it is unfortunate some people still prescribe to the ignorance perpetuated in Americas past. I refuse to support prejudice and empty-headedness, which in my humble opinion was the behavior displayed by these misinformed individuals.

The 2-way Lamb was definitely the star of our show - and the hummus was creamy and rich. The strip steak was not cooked well, and under-seasoned. The raviolis were very nice, but really needed salt.

We arrived a party of 7 people by chance. The place exceeded our expectations. We where greeted by a smiling owner and a nice waitress, It was warm and inviting , rustic, charming, atmosphere , small and cozy . The food was very nice we tried most of the dishes including a linguini special. Also the chocolate melt and lime tart were good unfortunately the Panna cotta wasn't as good as the others. The drink selection was very good especially the bloody Mary's.

I discovered this cafe today and fell in love. First, its a cute little place, exactly what you would expect to find in the village. I was greeted by super-friendly staff and was delighted with my light lunch. I opted for the mediterranean breakfast--3 eggs (any style) next to a delicious fresh greek salad with pita bread--This was outstanding. My bloody mary was also perfect!! My friend had the grilled octopus tapas and the shrip taco tapas---both were delicious. So yes...go here! I will be back and often!!

On a beautiful summer night, we sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and setting. Everything we ate was delicious and the portions were generous. Our wonderful waitress, from Hawaii, had just returned to the restaurant after several years away and she graciously provided us with travel trips for a trip to Hawaii. Like our waitress, Meme felt to us like a place to return to. Highly recommended.

Since my recent travels in the middle east, I have been missing the incredible vegetable dishes there, and I am always hoping to find something equal to the delicacy, spicing and variety of dishes I have been missing so much. Hello! The food at Mémé is fresh, light, delicate, tasty, perfectly prepared and gorgeous. The full menu and bar cover the tastes of everyone in your party. The ambience is lovely, the service fantastic. We shared a variety of plates, all excellent. We sat outside late at night, and when the rain started we slid our chairs under the canopy but remained outside. The staff laughed and still came out and refilled our wine glasses. I can't wait to go back. Oh, and it's a perfect location for before or after a Broadway show.

My wife and I recently visited this restaurant and found it to be just great food service and atmosphere highly recommend it.

Found this little gem as we were walking around the West Village on a rainy December afternoon. Small plates, big plates, variety of mediterranean dishes from hummus to skewers to octopus. The merguez plate and the hummus & falafel plate were delicious and good value. The atmosphere was cozy and not overcrowded (great plan B if you can't get into the Butcher's Daughter next door).

My husband and I had a hearty, tasty dinner. The place was a bit noisy but we had a corner table, which helped. The duck breast was nicely sauced, the lamb souvlaki was fairly tough but the chops that came with it were great. All the vegetables were delicious, including the brocolli side dish. We enjoyed the wine as well, and the servers were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable.

We had meatballs and octopus salad for a business lunch and it was fine with being special. Go there if you are in the area.

They offer a wonderful assortment of small plates, as well as larger "mains" All very interesting and made with fresh ingredients. Considerate service, fair prices and very good value. Originally we were walk ins without reservations. Although crowded, they accommodated us graciously. This was our third visit. Selected specifically to celebrate father's day because I knew it would be a memorable experience.

A friend took us to the restaurant, we loved the ambiance, the service and food was excellent. Our server was awesome, helped out our daughter with some vegan options.

This restaurant was nex to my hotel and I did not feel like going far from it. I had looked at a couple of restaurants around the hotel and decided on this one. I am glad I did!! The food is excellent. I was sad to be by myself because I would have loved to taste more food. I had the chicken tacos. It is served in a thick bread and not corn tortillas. They were perfect!! I then had the merguez because it was served with hummus and it looked really good. I have to say that the food was simply incredible. It is not the kind of cuisine I am used to eating but I loved it. The only thing missing was the service. I encountered in New York some waiters that lose their smile when you tell them that you are by yourself. She was very warm with the table next to mine and explained the specials which I was not privy to. I learned that there were specials after I had gotten my first course because she told them...they had gotten there after I did...so I did not get to hear what they were. It was the first time I had been there so I had a couple of questions for her, I wanted to make the best choice possible, and she did not hide her annoyance at my questions.I have to say that I did not ask 50 questions either!! She was a young girl in her 20's and it may have been an off night but she was warmer with the couple next to me. However, the hostess and the other waitress seemed like they liked their job. Since the food was so good, I would go back again the next time I am in town.
The restaurant is so loud your ears will be ringing for hours
The food was tasty but nothing really exceptional for the $$$$price. The tables and diners are packed very tightly together. No place for coats or jackets. You sit on them. Do not arrive the least bit early for your reservation as there is no place to stand except in the center of the restaurant. The bar only accommodates 5 people and is cramped by the servers passing by enroute to the kitchen. But the feature that impresses the most is the din that near stops. It is impossible to even hear the person sitting next to you. Absolutely unbearable!
