Mezze on the River Reviews

Mezze on the river hosted our post-wedding party of 6 people and I can't praise the whole experience highly enough. A beautiful setting on the river with fantastic views of the skyline but most importantly, absolutely fantastic staff and food. Everything was perfect, the staff could not do enough for us, and the food was some of the best I've tasted when eating out. My whole party was blown away with the quality of food and service and I can't thank the staff enough for making our special day even more special. It's a definite must if you're in NY and I'll be returning next time we are!

We went here for lunch. It is a very lovely place to eat. They are located on the river. We ordered the hummus platter simply wonderful. It had 3 types of dips. We also ordered. The steak and eggs, wow so good.

Beautiful place, great vie to the river, tasty menu, but the music was loud and inadequate for such a restaurant - it’s more for working out, gym , bar or discoteca

We were looking for a Greek restaurant and came across this charming place with great views of the river, we definitely recommend the Houmous.

Wonderfully nice with a fantastic location by the water and the NY skyline in the background. Best calamari ever (and I've eaten a lot of calamari over the years). Nice staff and good service. In addition, the best Greek red wine I have ever drunk, which I will now try to import to Sweden.

The food was delicious and our server Colette was super nice and helpful. Also the views are amazing I would highly recommend during sunset hours.

Popped into Mezze on the River for lunch, hoping for a great meal with that stunning Hudson River view, but it fell short. It was a windy day, and the outdoor tables were covered with tiny bugs and loose leaves blowing around, which made eating pretty unpleasant. They didn’t have any large tables inside, so we had no choice but to sit outside. The staff was okay—friendly enough but nothing memorable. We got the mimosa tower, and honestly, it was a big miss—super watery and not worth it at all. The lobster tail and calamari sounded so good, but both were just bland and didn’t live up to the hype. The view is awesome, but the food and buggy outdoor seating really let us down. I wouldn’t recommend it and probably won’t be back.

A visit to Mezze on the River was a perfect way to spend our final evening in New York, where we enjoyed a lovely meal and great views from our outside table. Our table was dead centre to the entrance walkway, so it provided an excellent framing to our view over the Hudson, where we could watch the world and the vessels pass by in relaxing fashion. Our starters included the saganaki cigars and pitta bread and dips, followed by the pan seared salmon and pan seared scallops. All of which were fantastic and very tasty and accompanied by a well chilled Pinot Grigio.

Delicious mostly Greek food. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. Quiet, intimate place along the river. The staff was flexible and attentive without hovering. Highly recommend. We had a lovely meal.

Amazing view on NJ and a great peak at the status of liberty by night. We had the mezze for dinner. Really generous plates. We could have shared only 3 plates. Service was very warm and efficient. And surprisingly, not too many tourists.
