fine high quality meat restaurant, with very tasty fish and sushi, they also have a very nice wine selection. the location is great, very good for couples or a partyas well as for clients. the restaurant is not cheap the desserts are also very good

Mike's Bistro is consistently excellent, on repeated visits. Pricey but totally worth it: Professional, friendly service, good ambiance and excellent food.

Food is great always fresh chef aleays comes out to say hello very friendly staff .thanks for all the good food my number one choice.

we had dinner and it was delicious! service was professional and good. cocktails are amazing! very good experience :)

Le Marais, despite their so-so service, has been our go-to steak spot whenever we’re in the theater district. Last week, however, though at 4:30 the restaurant was virtually empty, we were flatly told they could not accommodate my gluten-free daughter; though we’ve gotten her steak (just wrap it in tinfoil & pop it in the oven) all over the US, Israel, Europe and South America. After much persuasion the manager grudgingly told us they could do the steak (not the potatoes or salad) but they “weren’t happy about it.” Since the least expensive $19.95 steak and fries is now $29.95, and my daughter was worried that the kitchen’s unhappiness might translate into sloppy gluten-free preparation, we elected to leave and ended up going to Mike’s Bistro on East 54th. Mike’s Bistro has a separate gluten free kitchen, the service was friendly and superb, and the steak and lamb chops are among the best I have eaten anywhere in the world. Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for kosher steak in Manhattan.

From the top, I'll admit that I don't keep kosher and my expectations were low. I didn't see other TA reviews before heading over for a business dinner at Mike's. Wow! What a terrific restaurant. We had a four course meal that was beautifully presented and super tasty throughout. I loved especially the BBQ short ribs. They are fall-off-the-bone wonderful. Apple crisp dessert was also a big winner in my book. Didn't pay the bill or see any prices but I would pay good money next time to go back to Mike's.

The food was amazing and high quality. However, the portions were really small and the waiter was not friendly at all.

In our opinion, the best kosher food in NY. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a very interesting and diversified menu. We ate there with non Jews and they also said the food was delicious. The service is also very good and the atmosphere is very special.Worth a visit!

Pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Interesting menu was matched by excellent food and service. Only cloud was the drunk buffoon of a patron loudly removing all doubt about whether he was an idiot. Was not expensive, all things considered. Hope to get the chance to go back. In short, magic.

What a great place. Real caring service, amazing attention to detail and superb food and wine. Will return again and again. This is how Kosher Restaurants should be. Well Done

Mike's is definitely my favorite place to eat in the city - have eaten here 4 times and always a spectacular meal! I recently went here for lunch - actually have come a few times for lunch - and the food and atmosphere is perfect. For lunch they have a prix fixe. Unlike other places they don't rush you - once you are seated that table is yours for lunch. Great environment for a business lunch as you can actually have a conversation without shouting. There really is not one bad thing on the menu - everyone I have come with have really enjoyed their meal. Whether its steak or fish or vegetarian have yet to be disappointed. Its definitely worth the price! A visit from Chef Mike is a welcome bonus.

Enjoyed dinner here many times, works for business dinners, and the usual social events. Spend some time at the Bar - worth it. The menu never disappoints. Do not miss the gnocchi - signature dish.

We were 24 people in a private room. The food was plentiful and delicious. Attentive staff always paying attention. Kosher too.

Had a perfect dinner at Mike's Bistro last night! Cannot wait to be back in NY to go there again as I seem to be doing each time I visit lately. Great ceviche! Chicken, tasty, juicy, delicious. Even the broccoli was special. The wine was perfect and the desert: I am lost for words!

Mike's Bistro provides excellent food (especially its steak dishes). The service is flawless and the ambience is works well. In a largely residential area on the upper West Side of Manhattan, it is equally good at serving a large dinner party (12 people) as it is for 2 people. Though the menu is not as ample as some might like, there is more than enough first class and varied food to satisfy the usual wants. The steak dishes and soups are great and the wine selection is adequate. A family restaurant, its prices are reasonable.

Mike's Bistro is not a Jewish restaurant, it's just an excellent restaurant that happens to be kosher. Very nice and efficient service, from the speakers comes grest jazz, a bit too loud for our taste. We shared the Portobello Mushroom Salad, then had Chicken Breast and Wiener Schnitzel, plus French Fries. Everything was excellent, if a bit expensive.

We had been highly recommended to this restaurant on our recent vacation in Manhattan. I was not clear until we got there that it is essentially known for it's steak. In short my wife loves steak and found hers excellent. I was looking for a lighter ,but filling meal. I ordered a salad dish which reminded me of California cuisine ( very small dishes but pretty in presentation). It turned out that the salad with chicken was a fried chicken leg sliced and mixed with a few cherry tomatoes spinach leaves and a few pieces of cut up artichoke hearts. On top was two pieces of deep fried thin veal which just completed the most unhealthy looking and tasting item from a salad list on a menu that I have ever seen. I would recommend only eating here if you love steak or very greasy, unhealthy food. I have eaten kosher food all over the world in all kinds of eating establishments and this one is very average.

Mikes is our absolute favorite restaurant in Manhattan. We go with our whole family. - adults and kids. Everyone finds something on the menu and then we all share. The desserts are truly delicious. Please order the corn soup it is our particular favorite as is the breaded veal chop and sweetbreads. You can always order an excellent steak. The wait staff is very kind and competent. They brought the kids virgin Shirley temples in paper cups . We go over and over. Again.

A very pleasant dinner had with friends, can also certainly be a formal business meeting location. Food was excellent, service and ambiance were above average. Go and enjoy at your next opportunity.

Who would have thought Kosher dining could be so amazing. I met some friends for dinner(1 who keeps Kosher), about a week ago at Mike's and upon entering I just knew this was going to be a great dining experience. I had a Crudo and a steak that is making my mouth water while typing this. Service was on point, and the place was spotless. Overall I have nothing bad to say about this spot.

After hearing a lot of hype about this establishment, I was expecting a fabulous meal. Unfortunately, I was sadly disappointed. The food was definitely not up to a standard that I am accustomed to. If you are going to charge $110 USD for a steak for two, it should be exceptional. It was very tough and I had to fight the urge not to return it! The side dishes were mediocre as well. I was a guest and I did not want to embarrass my hosts. I would not return to this establishment.

Love coming here for a quick early evening dinner at the bar. Staff are really friendly, food is outstanding and service very quick. Not cheap but worth the money.

I was so excited to finally try this restaurant bec everyone raves about it. But I just don't think the food and prices match up. The food is OK but definitely not worth its prices... I think the food could be compared to decent catered food you get at Brooklyn wedding halls. We did the Chef's tasting menu, which I would rate a 4 out of 10. The food took eons to come, the portions were really small and we didn't like half of what we got. I really wanted to share good things about this place but was truly disappointed.

If it wasn't for the noise and the price that is quite high, this place would be perfect. That being said, the food is excellent, the service extremely professional and it is kosher which is a combination that is hard to come by. Highly recommended.

Mike's Bistro may have the best kosher food in NYC. The food approaches gourmet level. Service is good. The menu does not change much during the year, but this is ok, because almost everything on the menus is delicious. The restaurants biggest problem is that it seems to attract loud and boisterous crowds. We have been to Mike's Bistro more than 10 times, and on three occasions, we have asked to change tables due to noise levels which were unbearable. This is a shame because the food and service deserve a dignified atmosphere, not one that sounds like a rowdy diner.

Absolutely first class kosher restaurant. Amazing food, great service. You must try the short ribs! Well stocked bar.

Very unusual and special choices prepared with great thought and skill. The steaks are superb. The appetizers are unique and very tasty. The corn chowder for example had a collection of healthy vegetables to enhance the flavor. Service is outstanding and knowledgeable about how the foods are prepared. Had a wonderful birthday dinner here.

Mike's was much more convenient on West 72nd, but the new restaurant is a big improvement. Food is adventurous and high quality. It was so busy when we went that the server gave us the tab with the coffee and we felt we were being ushered out. Not nice, really. Coming from London, we aren't really used to that.

Dinner at Mike's Bistro was phenomenal. We tried a number of different portions and everything was top quality. A most enjoyable evening, highly recommended!

We had a lovely dinner here for our anniversary. The prices are steep but the food and the ambiance and the service are all amazing. I loved sitting in the glass enclosed area off the sidewalk.

Everything about this restaurant was fabulous. The appetizer of duck and chicken gnocchi was "over the top" delicious. The three of us shared a grilled veal chop , duck confit and rib eye steak. One was more delicious than the other. The dessert of apple crisp was a wonderful finish to a marvelous meal. Looking forward to our next visit.

Mike, the Chef/owner serves a varied ,innovative menu that changes regularly. The food is excellent ,the service good and it is apparent that every detail is supervised by Mike. His soon to be move to the East Side will more than double his space and make this wonderful meal available to many more.

We have been coming to Mike's Bistro for years, first at its old West Side haunts on 72nd Street off Broadway and now on 54th St. near Lexington. The food and service are top notch. steaks, portobello, veal, duck, fish nachos. And the drinks are first class, coming from a well-stocked bar. One of the best kosher meals you will ever have.

We were hosted by friends at Mike's, where we have been in the past. This restaurant never disappoints. Our friends who are regulars here, had a wonderful idea. They order the side dishes as an appetizer so that it takes the edge off your hunger till you get your main dish. For vegetarians (I know that there are some possibles for vegans but don't know for sure) all the sides are wonderful and perfect for them. We had the yam fritters which looked a bit like felafel but when you pop one in your mouth there is a crunch and a soft bright orange filling, wonderful. We also had a portobello mushroom and grain pilaf which was delish, as well as breaded zuchinni and fries which were perfectly crispy and brocollini. All were perfectly cooked and piping hot. Which brings us to the mains- DH and I order the cote de boeuf for 2 which was so good that I still need a moment. It literally melts on your tongue and is perfectly seasoned. It's beyond. My girlfriend ordered lamb chops which looked yum and she said were delicious but I left her to it since I was so invested in the beef. Her DH ordered the same as we did - he does this regularly and he pushed us to try it since he said (correctly) that it's outstanding. Mike came by to chat and he's a great guy and our waiter was excellent. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Just wonderful!

The food was definitely good . We ordered the warmed spinach as were the portobello mushrooms, and yam fritters. I had the New York strip steak which was not that great . My friend had the Rib eye fillet which was much better both were ordered medium rare. The service was good, as you would expect. One of the big downers was the level of noise . Maybe it is the acoustics but we ( two couples) had difficulty making ourselves overheard. For that price there has to be better places.

Mike's is the best restaurant i've ever been to. Every bite of food had me saying wow! Most restaurants that i go to are, at best, as good as food we can make at home, but Mike's is a special experience. I recommend the gnocci, beet salad, raw beef duet, short ribs, fries and yam fritters. All top quality- food at it's best. My family went for my wife's birthday this year and last and the new location is a great upgrade. This year was even better than last. Service was great. A+++.

My wife and myself had drinks and dinner. The drinks were great and the food was tasty. We would do it again.!!

Always fresh food, great presentation, expensive but worth it as a splurge once a year. Mike is very friendly. One of us is gluten free, and he recommended dishes that were. Good service and drinks. Best upscale kosher in the city.

We had dinner at Mike's every single thing was the best , service was top notch food was hot and tasty wine list is very good and price point is well. The duck gnocchi is the best dish I have eaten. If in NY this is a must for dinner

The cote de beuf for 2 (only available Monday and Tuesday nights) is truly amazing. Tuna poke nachos were delicious. Cocktails amazing. And according to my mother the duck confit was the best kosher restaurant meal of her life. The gnocchi dish was good. Very expensive but in this case you get what you pay for. I haven't been to Reserve Cut yet but I have been to almost all the other top kosher places in New York and Jerusalem and this has been the best so far. The only better place was in Paris and is not around anymore. Service: 5/5 Food: 4.8/5 Value: 3.5/5 Ambience: 3.5/5

Extensive menu options in all categories. Large wine list. Very good wait staff with attention to derail. My friends shared the steak for two....huge portion. My husband had a chicken dish. Looked lovely and tasted delicious. My poor little duck was must that.....little. My sweetbreads appetizers were not like my moms but fried and good albeit there were very few of them. The salads were great as was the pecan pie. Owner is wonderful. We will definitely go back and I will definitely not have the duck.

Several of the appetizers and entrées are vegan, as are most of the desserts. I had a root vegetable main dish, served over a parsnip purée with a side of the cauliflower gratin (with cashew cream). They were both excellent. My meat-eating companions were extremely pleased with their meal as well.

Mike's Bistro is an experience. Favorite dishes include the French onion soup, gnocchi, short ribs, beef tartare and yam fritters. The service is exceptional and the ambiance is perfect for anything from business lunches to social occasions. The restaurant is amazing and it just happens to be kosher (Mike has put a definitive end to the idea that kosher restaurants can't compete with their non-kosher counterparts). Mike catered our wedding and he executed flawlessly. He reset the standard for kosher weddings - most of our guests were either not Jewish or not kosher-observant, and they are still talking about how they enjoyed one of the best meals of their lives at our wedding. If you're looking for a place to eat, you've found it! Once you try Mike's you'll have a hard time eating at other restaurants.

We visited this restaurant on our last day in New York for a family reunion and enjoyed a lovely evening. The environment is very pleasant and although the place was packed, you could still enjoy your conversations without being disturbed by the noise. The food was very good and our steak was excellent, which is not an easy thing to achieve with strictly kosher food. The service was very professional and friendly. This is a pretty expensive restaurant, but it was a very good choice for us to celebrate our last evening in New York. Expect us back on our next visit!

Lets be clear - this isnt a cheap restaurant, by any means! Its very expensive, but in my view its worth the money. No doubt in my mind that it serves the best kosher food in midtown. And the service is always excellent. I'm a regular visitor when I'm in town and needless to say I will be back.

This place has really delicious short ribs that will melt in your mouth, and everything that we ordered there was delicious and service was quick and good.

I'm really liking the new location for Mike's Bistro in the heart of midtown. If you're looking to eat kosher, this is one of the best meals you'll ever have. Let me start with the main course because if you haven't had Mike's braised short ribs, you haven't lived. They are a delicious square of home-cooked short ribs formed into a reduction of juices and sauces and seasonings that after you are done, you want more. In addition, to the shortribs the appetizers and sides are also interesting, the pasta, vegetables, et al. are primo. Mike's also has an amazing wine selection, we had the Alexander Valley Cab, wow! We didn't have desert so sorry Mike, you filled us up with the appy's and main courses. I guess I'll have to come back!

Mike's has amazing food, great service, wonderful ambiance and a great chef/owner. He goes above and beyond making for a wonderful experience.

This highly rated kosher restaurant in the UWS was a little disappointing. The service was a little pushy changing some of choices to what he recommended as being more of a speciality. The lamb chop appetizer was good, but the "home made" gnocchi were among the heaviest we have ever had. The short ribs were very good, but the accompaniment was a mixture made with store bought "waggon wheels" truly a let down for the $40-50 cost of the entrees. Not our best dining experience on the UWS.

There is nothing bad about this restaurant but for the price you expect more. The food is generally bland and pretty much the standard fare.

Chef Mike's personal touch and presence makes this the best Kosher Restarant in NY,Food is always excellent, interesting and carefully prepared down to the last detail. There are always new things on the menu but you can't go wrong with the sweetbread appetizer, veal or ribs. Wine list is excellent

The food was impeccable, the service was outstanding. Our server Lottie was fun and spoke so highly of the owner Mike and the food. What’s not to love? Next time I hope to meet Mike. Rare Kosher experience.

Ate at the bar. The bar staff were really friendly and service was great. The food never lets you down here. Amazing ribs, a really good soup and dessert was also really nice. Not a cheap restaurant but hey its a kosher midtown restaurant so what do you expect? Love the location, love the food - will be back again.

We had an dinner here. Wow! Seated quickly, good, lovely atmosphere. For appetizers we took Seared Beef “Carpaccio” and Beef Tartar. For main courses we took Cote de Boeuf and New York Strip Steak. It were all delicious and served with a smile. Would highly recommend.

Nothing negative to say about this restaurant. Our food (ceviche, followed by côte de bœuf) was first rate - as good as any I have ever tasted in any restaurant, including Michelin stars. Mike, the owner and executive chef, is a total gentleman. We will return, very soon.

Service was a little slow. Food was pretty good. I always have the chicken or the flanken. I miss the old resturant. Liked it better. Was better location.

We dined here with a friend who only eats Kosher. He is an NYC native and we followed his lead. This was a wonderful and delightful surprise from beginning to end! We ordered several of the appetizers for the table and each was better than the last. The dishes were not only beautiful but tasteful. The Israeli red wine we tried was also a wonderful surprise and quite delicious! Prices were more than fare for the quality of the food. Abby noisy , but we enjoyed the experience overall!

The food was fresh, flavors popping and a real abundance of uniquely enjoyable options on the menu. The bar was perfect, and atmosphere was happening. This is not a quiet establishment and not for those afraid to live large! Four Stars (and don't forget to have the sweetbreads) Enjoy!

These guys have a deal with Bobby Van's so you can bring your Kosher friends there and Mike's will bring the food over. Great deal.

We had business dinner with a larger group at Mike's Bistro. Top notch service. Fantastic meals; vegan, fish and meat options all experienced. Good selection of wines. The ones we enjoyed were from New Zealand. Price level is decent for business meetings, expensive for personal coverage.

dropped in WO reservation and they were able to accommodate me-food was delicious, wine choices decently priced- easily the best kosher restaurant in Man ahttan

Mike's Bistro always delivers on quality. The veal chop was perfectly cooked and the appetizer sweetbreads were so good. My colleague's meal was also excellent all around. Expensive but worth it!

Went for a birthday. The service was fantastic and the waiters were very knowledgeable. I order 16 Oz steak and the pulled ribs. They were both amazing and flavorful. It was pricey but worth the experience and taste.

Went with a large business group. The prices even by mid-town standards are quite high. $24 for a pasta appetizer, $55-60 for meats. Had the highly reviewed gnocchi, that were good but incredibly salty. Then followed with special fish of the nite - sea bass - it was also way too salty, and could not have been more than a 7-8 ounce portion with 3 tablespoons of vegetables. In absence of the salt was probably pretty good - but at > $ 50 or 55, not worth it. Kosher food should not be priced at a 80% premium no matter what. And for a solid B meal, unless your kosher and don't have a choice, don't be meshugga.

Excellent kosher food. Love the 16 ounce steak and the duck. Beware they try to up sell you on the most expensive items on the menu. My husband ordered a martini with 3 olives and they charged him an extra $5.00 for the olives. Always check the price before you order. The waiter recommended the side of mushrooms. They turned out to cost $28.00. Food is fabulous but not for everyday dining.

A very good kosher steak house with excellent entrees. Bit pricey but worth it. I had the most recommended Handmade Gnocchi for warm starter and Simply Prepared Rib Eye “Fillet” 11oz and I enjoyed each bite.

last night we took the family for dinner at Mike s . We had most everything . service was good . we sate in the Red room - thank g d - it was quitter then main room . meat and chicken were very good . with tax and tip it came to $ 91 per person - no wine . we all liked the meal - it is on the heavy side . dessert included .

The food at Mike's Bistro is exceptional by any standard. My experience with kosher restaurants has been quite negative … until now. In one particularly egregious example, a supposedly high end steak restaurant plopped a bunch of pickles on the table as a starter before providing a very mediocre steak plate -with fries on it - at an outrageously high price. The clientele were all older. Not so Mike's Bistro. I arrived with low expectations, but left feeling very differently. Now to the food. I ordered the special lamb riblet. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and outrageously melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My son had the exotic mushroom broth. It too was simply wonderful. My husband had the merguez dumplings, which seemed a playful riff on kreplach. The steak, duck and short rib entrees were also very good, especially the short ribs. By that time we were all full, but my son assured me the small dish of sorbet he managed to fit in was also delicious, and apparently made from scratch. Service at the restaurant was also quite good. Additionally, the clientelle were varied and I saw many people in their twenties or early thirties who seemed to be on dates or with other couples, as well as older people. Everyone looked happy from the servers to the clientele, and the chef was seen frequently chatting people up in the dining rooms. The one area in which Mike's resembled other kosher restaurants was the deplorable decor in the lower room. It looked more like a man cave than a high end restaurant with the bizarre stained glass lamps casting a weird reddish glow onto the glossy beige walls. I've heard Mike's is moving to a larger space and hope they hire a decorator or at least take a look at some of the more beautiful high end restaurants in the city for inspiration. At the very least, they ought to know to stick with high quality flat or at most satin, not gloss or semi-gloss wall paint, and no harsh dark reds, dark blue, mauve, hunter green or burnt orange that these places seem to favor. Those colors went out decades or perhaps centuries ago.

wow what a great food experience if your in ny and looking for a greqat place to eat this place is a musyt to try out and its kosher so its a higher standard and it truly is great food from the ambiance to the service to the wine selection its really a all around great experience

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Lovely service, absolutely flavorful food and a terrific Israeli wine recommended by our waiter - who thoughtfully suggested 2 different bottles and offered a taste of each to us before we chose one. The hot and delicious bread, the gnocchi and dumplings as appetizers and the awesome main courses of veal chop and short rib were all uniformly superb. It is pricey but certainly no more so than a standard (and IMHO generally inferior) steak house. The bottom line that my wife and I apply to any new restaurant is whether we would return. In the case of Mike's Bistro the answer is definitely!

A most unbelievable Kosher & Elegant Establishment. Food was plentiful & delicious. Wine overpriced, table was a bit shaky, over intrusive waiter.

The waitstaff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. To start we ordered the Pulled Beef Taquitos. My initial reaction to the dish was how very small the serving was, three small bites. While the size was diminutive the flavors were not. The beef was full flavored and the corn sauce was smack our face good. For the main we ordered the Duet of Smoked Veal for Two. This was comprised of a veal roast and ribs. The roast was succulent and delicious with a sweat sauce. The ribs were great, smoky with a solid BBQ sauce. On the side we had a mushroom medley, a mix of different mushrooms with a barley base. The mushrooms added a nice early undertone to the meats. All in all it was a great experience.

It is rare that a greatly hyped restaurant even meets one’s expectations, let alone exceeds them; Mike’s bistro is that rare exception. Having had a spectacular experience there in May when we ate there to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation, we were hesitant to return, since we feared that it could not possibly match our prior experience. We were additionally concerned that we could not duplicate the experience since we had tickets to a 7:00 broadway show, but we decided to take a chance and boy did it pay off! The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the food is ridiculous!! The duck gnocchi is off the charts: satisfying and rich, almost decadent. When deciding on the main dish, we were dismayed that we were there on a Thursday since we wanted to order the Monday night special: USDA prime grade cote de boeuf for two. When the waiter saw how bummed we were, he went to the kitchen to ask if they could accommodate us, which they did. All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW!!! That is literally the best restaurant steak out there, hands down!! Cooked to perfection-just the right combination of seasoning on the outside forming a delicious crust that protects a juicy tender inside-it was everything I could hope for in a steak (fries were great too!). Our expectations for the meal were high, and our satisfaction level even higher. We will definitely come back whenever we find ourselves in the city (we’re Floridians now), and I could not recommend a better restaurant than this-well done!! (Although my steak was medium rare!)

it was 15 of us so I understand the slow service - the noise level when the restaurant is busy is way too high - had the white chicken which was very tasty - wife liked the meat .

The food is great, but for the prices charged the service should be top notch; it was not. The hostess who greeted us bordered on the rude; the waiter was overworked and could scarcely give us any sustained attention. We spent the first 25 minutes seated at the table with just glasses of water. Silverware was dumped on the table in a pile. At these prices, there should be top notch service; this was terrible.

me wife and daughter had a very good dinner - good service - good night . I had the white chicken breast in sauce - it was very juicy , wife had ribs - very good - daughter had salad and soup all very good .

MIke's moved to midtown Manhattan and I was not disappointed. The ambiance was just beautiful and the food is wonderful. It is well worth a trip down to 54th street. I think this is the best kosher restaurant in New York.

Place was packed sunday night. Mike the owner chef always Comes and shemuzzes people. Wife love s. Had the steak for 2. Excellent. Touch nioisy. Ask for the smaller room

We were a large party at the table and informed the waiter we were very hungry. It took over 30 minutes for the first course to arrive, some of which were just salads. Then next course as well took forever to come. When I questioned this, they said the orders were filled as we placed them. I cannot imagine that to prepare a salad takes very long as the neighboring tables, who arrived after we did, and placed their orders after we did , were served prior to us. That is not acceptable. The food itself was very good, but the timing in the kitchen is way off. They also did nothing to make amends, not even offering to comp the desserts. I would not come back too quickly . They cannot handle crowds.

Mike ( the owner) personally came in to check on our group. He is incredibly friendly and a very well informed sommelier and foodie. Needless to say, the food was delicious! I highly recommend the duck and the artichoke hearts. Mmmm...Perfection!

Enjoyed a business dinner at Mikes with a few co-workers and clients. Service was good, a bit abrupt but pleasant. The issue I have with Mikes is that they are presented and priced as a fine dining experience and I would argue that this is just a "restaurant" experience. Food was delicious, steaks cooked to proper temperatures (a big plus). Ambiance is a bit loud in the back room but the front provides for a more quiet atmosphere, best of both worlds there. I will be back, but the old Prime Grille and hopefully the new one opening soon beats Mikes on value, service quality, ambiance, and wine list. Very similar pricing.

So many people recommended this place to us, so we were understandably excited about eating here. The service was just fine - we had a very nice waiter, and quite attentive. However, the food was nothing to write home about. We had the following: some kind of mushroom pasta appetizer soup Chicken Supreme (for main course) Rib Eye Fillet 11" Steak The appetizer was so so, didn't even finish it. The Chicken was quite dry The rib eye was boring - the only exciting part of this meal was the french fries. That was fantastic. Having eaten at quite a few other kosher restaurants in Manhattan, I wouldn't come back here again.

This is my most favor kosher restaurant in NYC. It's not a cheap restaurant but you absolutely must go eat there. Every time I'm in NYC it's a must for me to go there.

Nice wellcoming when we entered. But host was afraid from my mobility scooter he was more friendly after we folded it. The food was very good. Expensive.

Really good food options great selection, food was amazing especially the brisket and the deserts the service was also smooth and fast

I really enjoyed my meal at MIke's Bistro, in their new location on E 54th Street. The prices made me think twice before making my reservation but I was not disappointed in any way. The server was excellent, the menu had many choices, and I believe the drink/wine list was extensive. I loved their lamb shanks, soft, tasty and the accompanying eggplant relish was a good compliment. I enjoyed the very fruity olive olive served with the not exciting white roll ( that was just standard). Glad to eat in the very simple but elegant room and the tables weren't on top of each other as in most NYC eateries- Noise was non-existent as it was early in the evening and not crowded yet. I will be most delighted to return again to Mike's Bistro-

very good ambience. good wine kosher and very good service order the triple chocolote for dessert. limited menu but all very good. my daughter had the steak very good but costly $46,

This restaurant is my absolutely favorite. all the dishes that we ate were so delicious. The steak was super soft and yummy. I would love to return but need to save up for another visit as it is indeed pricey.

Having eaten there before I had high expectations. The tuna nachos were great although the portion size seemed a bit small. The steak was only mediocre. Ordered medium but it came medium rare and should have been hotter. The server took it back and warmed it up but was still not up to expectations based on past experiences there. Too tough. After 5 visits I would now only suggest the steak special for 2 on Monday and Tuesday night which was outstanding. Any other time I'd stick with the short ribs or possibly try the lamb chops that looked great.

One of our party is an orthodox rabbi and we had to have our meeting at a kosher restaurant. I've been to many and have usually been disappointed. The service, especially has been wanting. Mike's is a totally different story. While the food is fantastic and you couldn't tell it was "kosher" (other than no milk or pork products). We had a smattering of everything but the standouts were he corn chowder, the Tuna crudo and the short ribs. But the real winner here is the staff. They were amazingly available and non-intrusive. Thinking about it, not once did they interfere with the business conversations we were having. Thank-you guys!

A gourmet restaurant with an eclectic, bistro inspired menu. The ambiance was comfortable & quiet. The bar tender was attentive & experienced. The wait staff was professional & courteous. The menu is large, diverse, & creative. We were a group of thirteen & we ordered thirteen appetizers which were all excellent. I recommend ordering as many appetizers as possible & share them. We ordered fish, duck, veal, short ribs, & steaks for the main course. I highly recommend the 40 day aged rib steak. The sides were pedestrian. This one of the best kosher restaurants in New York City

went back to this restaurant. very good food, nice seating and excellent service very good steaks and chicken.

This was a business dinner on a weekday evening. As you would expect, the cost of dinner at a Kosher restaurant is a bit pricey. The appetizers and entrée selections were well prepared and the server was well organized and provided some advice for ordering. While the entrée portions were large, the salads and appetizer portions were small considering the price. The quality of the food was very good and I would return for another meal. But like all other Kosher restaurants the portions for the appetizers could be more generous.

The food is highly recommended by everyone. That's where my daughter chose to eat after her graduation. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Everyone enjoyed the dish they chose and their drinks. It was a real festive occasion!!!

lovely place, very noisy, and over priced ! however food was excellent, and presented with flair !...portions are not huge...hubby had a chicken main dish, I had a salad, and then a fish dish, we shared a dessert... had no drinks of any kind.... and we pd. 139.00 !!!.... only enjoyed so much because we were with our family !!!!!!

One of its kind! The atmosphere, the food, the service, the drinks, the other diners, the background music, the location.. all conspire to make this a really good experience. Don't miss it.

After we moved from a very noisy part of the restaurant, we had a great evening. Friendly, informative waiter, excellent duck and chicken dishes and nice ambience in the upper west side, close to where we stay when we visit the city.

We needed a kosher restaurant for some family members. We have eaten at Wolf & Lamb in the past: it was terrific. But we thought we'd try something different. What a mistake. Four of five of us had poor quality and badly prepared food. Steak was tough, short ribs and lamb shanks were tasteless. Presentation was bleak and sloppy. The one exception was a nicely prepared veal chop that at least had some character and was attractively plated. An artichoke appetizer consisted of over-cooked artichoke leaves with the hearts deep-fried and plunked on top. Gnocchi was gluey. Service ranged from decent to haughty and nasty. For a vastly over-priced restaurant, ambience is pretty much that of a country-road family joint with table clothes. If this place is going to continue being so high on itself, it better up its quality. As is, skip it and make your way to Wolf & Lamb or one of the other really solid kosher restaurants that have begun to proliferate in the city.

This is a wonderful kosher restaurant, one of two great ones in Manhattan right now. I've reviewed it enthusiastically before so won't go on and on, but I tried a new dish there today, the duck confit and it was simply the best I've ever hard, perfectly flavored, crips and exquisite.

I was invited out to this restaurant which has grand acclaim as being the best kosher restaurant in NY. It is definitely very good, nothing to argue about, however a bit pricey...

Service was good, quantities were tiny for adult portion, kids menu in other restaurants would offer a larger quantity.

we went out for my birthday & this was just the place to be - excellent food, excellent service, just a wonderful experience

The restaurant, staff and food was to the standard you would expect given that this is an upmarket spot with a price tag to match. What was different was the range on the menu and the novelty of some of the special dishes. They all sounded incredibly new and tempting, but being a table of four, we didn't get to try them all. We were more than happy with our selections.

Mike's Bistro is truly the epitome of fine kosher dining in New York City. Diverse and unique menu choices permeate the menu. Service is attentive and the wait staff has an amazing knowledge of the selections.

We went to Mikes for my wife's birthday. Still incredible. Been quite a while since I've been here and it's still the best in my opinion. Very expensive, great food and service. The noise level can get quite high, but that's more the fault of the patrons. From the appetizer, drinks and main to the dessert, it was fabulous. We have never gone wrong at Mikes. Been to other expensive restaurants and a much worse experience. Looking forward to our next trip there.

My daughter and I made reservations for a Sunday night at 5pm. When we got there, the place was closed. I called and they said they tried to call us. Not so. No apology. No nothing. What kind of establishment takes a reservation for it's posted hours of operation and just decides not to open. Fifteen minutes later, I got an email that they cancelled our reservation. And to top it off, the lady answering the phone blames me for not getting the two voicemails that they DIDN'T leave. Unreal!

After hearing from many people how great this place is, I decided to try it out. Service wasn't the greatest, i.e the Maître d' couldn't cope with all the guests and we ended up waiting outside (no waiting area inside besides for bar which was full of diners) for half an hour although we had a reservation. The food was very good overall, but not amazing as we had heard it was. The gnocchi was okay as were the dumplings. Short ribs were very good and the Black Angus rib eye was excellent albeit small. The price is a little high considering all the above.

Members of my family are observant and keep kosher, so their trips to NYC always include visits to (mostly casual) kosher restaurants, often located in Brooklyn. Occasionally, however, when schedules and commitments permit, they also like to visit finer dining locations, and they'd actually dined at Mike's before, several years ago. I'd not been there, however, and much of my experience with kosher restaurants has had three distinct characteristics--high prices (understandable, to some extent), mediocre food, and brusque service. While Mike's Bistro is certainly not inexpensive (dinner for two was about $200, including one appetizer, two drinks, two entrees, and two desserts), I was delighted to find that the food was excellent by any standard, and the service was patient, attentive, and very friendly. The menu at Mike's is rather eclectic and designed for "foodies", with influences of Asian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and regional American cuisines. (There is also a substantial menu selection of simply prepared protein choices, and a better-than-average selection of vegetable side dishes, so there should be ample choices for simpler tastes, too.) My dinner companion has a number of food restrictions in addition to kashrut--no flour, sugar or sweeteners--so our first task was to review choices with the waiter in order to "rule out" things that didn't meet those restrictions. Our waiter patiently walked through nearly every single item on the (large) menu, pointing out the items that were likely to be inauspicious choices, while also noting the things that might be adaptable by leaving one or two ingredients out of the prep. He took a couple of questions to the chef, and a few moments later, the chef visited our table for another leisurely conversation about best choices, highlighted by his recommendations for menu items that he particularly liked that evening. The chef couldn't have been nicer, more friendly, or more fun--he was like a new friend who'd have been happy to join us at the table! Just a delightful guy! Suffice to say we really enjoyed our dinner, had a great evening, and can only say positive things about Mike's and the staff. This is the place to go when seeking a special occasion spot for kashrut observers.

Although the menu is quite expensive, the food is excellent. It's not your typical kosher steak and fries type of place, the menu is slightly more 'avant garde' . However, the portions are generally on the smaller side, but the food quality and presentation are above any other kosher restaurant in the city. I ordered the steak for 2 and it was awesome. The short ribs are also quite good. The new location is great for those working in Midtown but the old ambiance was much more conducive to a nice special-occasion dinner as opposed to the new corporate-style restaurant.

BH Every single dish is incredible , is the 3th time I visit in this last year and the consistency is incredible, very difficult to find that in a kosher restaurant Service, ambience, chef Mike visiting every table and asking how's really you doing Everything is perfect

Went to a dinner, place looks romantic and professional, but… no check for covid 19 test , very noisy, we waited for the main course around 30 minutes, food had strange tastes of burned oil. We paid around 250 USD for rib stake and salmon.

Great food if anytime your in NY go to this resturant it hals next level food and get the Creacent Steak its really good!!

So Mike's Bistro has left the upper west side and moved to midtown. So what. But I live in midtown east and need a restaurant or two to move back in the hood. Well, Mike, I never ate in your other steak house but last night was exquisite. Took most of the day off on a "dog day of August." After the Met and a stroll in the park we ate at Mike's. The service was exceptional with every member of the wait staff trying to help you the second you walk in the door. Kudos to Manager Amy - who has a great personality and is wonderfully professional. We didn't have reservations but it was about 6PM and the restaurant hadn't been packed yet. It was packed later. We were seated in the beautiful new ambience with just the right amount of art and elegance. Some places are so elegant you don't want to dirty the tablecloths. But Mike's is elegant and easy to eat at. The wine list is by glass or bottle. Can't go wrong with Segal's Cab-Merlot by the glass. Some of the bottles are a bit steep. The menu had sweet breads so thought I was at a CHASANA. Yummy. Just the right amount of tender and salty. We shared the Prime Steak for two - worth it. It was a magnificent cut worthy of Le Marais or Prime Grill. Had garlicky string beans on the side ($7.00) and another glass of Segal's. The crowd was mainly families with a few business tables. High class and respectfully attired. Friendly & happy. Just the way I like eating. Now will someone open a good MILCHIG restaurant like My Most Favorite Food in midtown east. Please.

great place to eat and chill and drink. great food amazing presentation. great staff. we had booked and we missed our slot due to traffic and only came later and the staff were very accommodating.

the new Mikes location is a big step up from the previous location, very nice walk in with bar, very nice decorated . food is always good at Mikes, some ppl say that there is small portions here but i dont agree. just make sure when you are seated that you get placed in the main room. when i came now they first put me in on one the back rooms which looked like a room in an apartment and with the funny red color we felt very claustrophobic, we asked to transfer to main room and they found us a table

I came here with my parents. It was the first time for all three of us. I ordered a butternut squash soup and a salad. The soup was great but the salad was just okay. My parents found their portions to be rather small. The cook came over to our table and introduced himself, which was thoughtful and the staff was kind and courteous. The restaurant is decorated well and has a nice, elegant tone.

Two of our party of three arrived a bit early, and Dan at the bar took great care of us. Then we were seated and our server Carli was phenomenol. The ambiance was very nice, the entire service staff was attentive, but best of all was the food. The sauteed edamame was outrageous. All of the entrees were first rate as was the dessert we shared. Mike (as in Mike's Bistro) spent a few minutes with us as well. Probably the best and most enjoyable kosher restaurants we've ever been to, anywhere, ever. All this great stuff isn't inexpensive, but it was worth it.

Great service. Nice place. The food was excellent. Gnocchi starter was unbelievable, steak and cheese cake were very good.

We were in New York for 2 days and wanted a special Dinner to celebrate our Anniversary. Mike's Bistro was exceptional. We are from L.A. and our restaurants are good, but Mikes was superb.. We read the chef was highly trained and the dishes proved this right. I had the Lamb chops, and they were the best I have ever had. Succulent and tasty. My husband had the steak and it was a bit rare, they brought a heated platter and he cooked it to perfection. My sister in law had the Duck and she has not stopped raving about it. And, she doesn't even keep Kosher. The staff were friendly and attentive and even brought us a sorbet to celebrate our Anniversary.

The Monday and Tuesday night special, cote de beuf steak for 2, is expertly cooked and seasoned, and very flavorful. Cocktails were great but I wasn't so impressed with their wine list. The steak tartare and apple pie were excellent as well. Next time I plan on trying the squab special or short ribs. Be advised that this restaurant is extremely pricey.

Had a wonderful night out at Mike's Bistro! Great Fast Service! Heavenly food. Beautiful clean upscale seating.

Not my first, and for sure not my last time in this remarkable restaurant. this is the olace where your waiter will spend as long as needed to understand your personal preferences, in order to serve you the best dish, out of their fantastic choices. Service, food, cleaness, atmosphere - all are the best of the best.

When you walk through the doors, service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The downside......tables are too close together.

My wife and I went out to Mike's for our anniversary. We shared all of our plates, as well as a jalapeño basil margarita that was out of this world! Overall, the food was very good, but after sharing 3 appetizers, a large entree, a drink, and dessert, we were not hungry, but we were definitely not full. We loved every dish we ordered, especially the Raw Duet, a plate with beef tartare served two ways. The service was friendly but exceedingly slow, and they forgot the details like refilling our water glass (that is something I always watch carefully when in a restaurant, their attention to the water glass). We spent $170 after tip, and while we really liked the food, I don't imagine I'm going to come rushing back there anytime soon. Too little for too much.

I have no explanation why, but all kosher places that I have visited in New York didn’t have food that I liked given that I always try to taste as many dishes as possible. I always had impression that chefs at those restaurants tried their best to make their dishes look boring, and the food taste quite bland. This time my colleagues from work and I decided to go to Mike’s Bistro based on the reviews that I read online. This time I liked every single dish that I tried at this place. Sweetbreads, Beef Carpaccio, Ceviche, Tuna Steak, and a Ribeye Steak were all good. The Ribeye was of a very good quality, and prepared just like I ordered medium-rare. All dishes were nicely presented, and well-seasoned (not a single one was bland). For dessert I had chocolate pecan pie, and it was delicious. This place is expensive, but given the quality of the food, I would say it was worth the visit. What didn’t match the prices of the restaurant were the service and the decor.

This was probably the best kosher steak that I ever had. It was a cote de beuf special for 2 only served 2 days a week. The taste, texture, temperature, presentation, and cooking specification (medium rare) were all perfect. It was quite pricey at $120 (for 2 people) but we felt it was worth it. I would say the steak was better than Prime Grill and Prime KO. The mushroom soup was very good as well. Wines are extremely expensive so we ordered a Spanish Tempranillo for $40 which was their least expensive bottle. It was pretty tasty. Service was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Great place for a special occasion.

What a find!!! Excellent meal for kosher or paleo/clean! I'm allergic to shellfish & dairy & eat gluten free due to RA. Not a problem here! Had the best wine, beef, beet salad, cappuccino & fondue of my life! Expensive meal worth every penny and more! Do not be afraid to celebrate life inside this family restaurant while listening to the happy hum of the patrons enjoying their city. Can't wait to return to NYC and visit Mike's again!

The service is excellent. The food is divine. My all time favorite new york city restaurant!!! I am a foodie and spend a lot of time in restaurants. I usually find a dish or two that is their specialty and after trying some mediocre dishes, revert back to the tried and true. I have taken friends, colleagues, and family to Mikes just to wow them. Never fails! At Mikes Bistro- each dish is unique and delicious. The presentation is classy. Its a home run all across the board! Try it! You will NOT be disappointed!

This was my first visit to Mike's Bistro and it definitely will become a must go to place from now on - especially since it's across the street from my work - how did I just find out it moved here? I went with a party of 7 people and they gave us a private room n the back which was wonderful. On the way to our room, we saw lots of friendly faces also enjoying their meals there. Our waitress was very efficient and we were served drinks right away and put in our order. The menu has an array of wonderful innovative food and it was difficult to choose what to have. What was great about going with a large group is you could see different choices and put it on a list for the next visit. People at our table had Ceviche, Roasted Beet Salad, Spicy Merguez Dumplings and Mike’s Signature Warm Corn Soup. Everything was delicious – the only complaint was that there wasn’t enough to share! For Main dishes we had Short Ribs which was large and rich enough for two people to share, Crescent steak for the people who like well done meat, the special Fish of the day. Definitely order some breaded zucchini as a side, it was absolutely delicious and one order is enough for 2-3 people. Hard to believe we had room for dessert – the chocolate pecan pie and warm chocolate pudding completed a truly exceptional meal. To top it off Mike came to our room and spoke with us for several minutes and is really an entertaining man who exudes love for the work he does – creating a wonderful dining experience! Thought the prices were in line with other high end restaurants in the city and the food certainly was worth the price. For a more budget friendly experience come for lunch – same great food and service. Highly recommend even if you don’t keep kosher!.

We’re from Maine and I eat kosher, so coming here is a special treat. This was our second visit, and our first at the East Side location. We enjoyed everything we had, and did a lot of sharing. For appetizers we had the pulled beef taquitos, spinach salad with lamb lardons, and crudo- all excellent. For entrees, the rib steak was cooked exactly as we ordered, and the short ribs were out of this world. Our son had the gnocchi appetizer as his meal, and it was phenomenal. Also notable were the homemade sausage, peppers and cauliflower side and the hot chocolate after dinner on a very cold night! The service was exceptional, and our waiter Ron happened to be the same great waiter we had three years ago. The new location is really nice, although it was quite noisy tonight- but only because the people near us were having a truly great time. As others note, it is also quite expensive- but in my opinion, it’s worth it!

Firstly the impression that you get is of high quality service and this was initially borne out positively when we ordered. However, things got negative with poor service of drinks - had to ask three times for a beer - and very poor quality starters (and frankly advice on starters). I would recommend the 'un-complicated' mains - especially steak. Probably better to skip starter in the future; ... oh! and desert was good!!

We frequent this top restaurant The food is amazing Top notch chef!!! Everything on the menu is worth tasting Super service!!!! Every waiter and waitress are great and competent . However when you come in the hostesses at reception are the rudest most unfriendly I have ever seen . Not only don't they greet you with a smile they are downright rude! Why in an establishment of this caliber would they put up with this is just beyond me!!

My family and I keep going to this fantastic restaurant. The food is the best, any dish you order it tastes out of this world. The chef Mike and he is the owner goes to every table to make sure that everybody is pleased. This restaurant is definitely our the most favorite one.The atmosphere is great,so is the service.

Went here for my anniversary. I got 2 appetizers, one salad one entree and one dessert and spent ~$150. The most amazing service I've ever had in a restaurant. They have waiters that actually wait on your table if there's anything that you might need. On top of that they also have people whose job is specifically to help set the tables clean up. They will bring you bread whenever you want and will come to clean off the crumbs from your table in between courses. Unlike other places that I've been too, they actually ask you how you would like to pace your meal and they will arrange to have your food brought out at your own pace. They wouldn't bring out my entree until we told them that we were ready for it and it didn't take too long afterward to get it. Chef Mike likes to mingle with the diners and hear their opinions. They are known for their gnocchi which was amazing but definitely too small. The portions are small for the prices. We got the spare ribs because they are known for them but personally we were disappointed. I wouldn't get it again but I would definitely come back again there's so much that I would still love to try.

I used to go to Mike's at least 4 times a year. This is the first time I have been there since they moved to their new location. I had to wait 35 minutes for a table even thought I had a reservation. The restaurant is much noisier and the portion are smaller. The prices have really gone up quite a bit since they relocated. It is no longer worth going there.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, but the food is superb. We tried several dishes and each one was tops. Not many kosher restaurants int his league. We also we had two mixed drinks - both were wonderful. Restarant was quite busy - worth making a reservation. The service was so quick - hard to believe.

The food was simply fantastic, fresh delicious and the meat was orgasmic. I can’t wait to go back! Check the place out ! I went with a non jewish colleague and he compared the steak to ‘as good as a kosher steak’ Kol Hakavod this place Is New York’s best kosher restaurant. La marais, Wolfe and lambe, Reserve cut has its bad nights but the place is consistently good! Long may they arrive with crisp white table-clothes and beautiful aged steaks.

was there they have an outstanding steak, the place was a bit small but i think they got a new place now, but the food is very good

Everything was absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly, quick, and effecient and the dining aura was amazing! You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Was alone so sat at the bar. Service was super quick and food was excellent. Its not cheap, but what do you expect from a kosher place in midtown! Worth visiting for anyone looking for high quality kosher food.

This is a first rate kosher meat restaurant, with excellent lamb, fish, chicken, beef, salads, and desserts. Very friendly service. Very expensive. That is the reality with the fancy kosher restaurants in New York. The advantage with this one is that the food and service are really great.

We reserved the "tasting menu" for our 25th anniversary. Mike served us personally. He described each dish in detail as it was served. The corn soup with fresh husked baby corn was a personal fave. The "blue marlin" sashimi flown in from Hawaii was yet another delicious exotic offering. Pasta with lamb bacon and quail egg was delicious. This was by far the most memorable meal we have ever enjoyed. Thank you, Mike, for making our anniversary so special!

The restaurant and the food were great. The catered to our every need. With thirteen people who had different dietary concerns, Mike's Bistro was very accomodating. We would go there again.

Great place. High end. Expensive but worth it. One of the finest kosher restaurants I’ve eaten in. Quiet. Friendly. Great service.

That is what the Chef at Mike's Bistro told me yesterday night. Why? Because I dared to complain about how terrible was the steak I was served. The Rib Eye Steak I ordered -the most expensive steak on the menu at $62- was supposed to be 15 Oz (which is for my European friends 425 grams) and was certainly half that size... but hey, who comes with scales at the restaurant? But more importantly the meat was full of sinews and I had been struggling with them for about 15 minutes when the waiter asked me "if everything was okay!"... Okay? not okay! I even said that this steak was a scandal... I have to grant him that he immediately asked the Chef to come see me... But instead of staring at the facts, calmly apologizing and gently replace the meat, he started lecturing me about the rib eye texture and that was mixing fat with sinews... It's a very New York attitude to speak to a French guy and tell him that he knows nothing about food- and Rib Eye steak... He eventually replace the meat-- but by an overcooked piece of rum-steak...and no Ribe Eye- Cheers!

Appetizers are small and over priced But very tasty Gnocchi, ravioli (2 pieces for $20!!!!) Mini veal sandwich ( I mean MINI) Order the USDA prime steak..., it was ok Very fatty and heavy With string beans( oily) and green veggies(bland) Apple crumble was too sweet Pecan chocolate pie was tiny but good Mike is very friendly and greets all Kosher but $$$$$$

Me and my wife are absolute mikes bistro fans Best gnocchi u will ever taste , amazing veal sweet breads , and the most flavorful short ribs I have ever had , the black angus steak just melts on ur mouth and deserts just make it a perfect dinner! Try their Hawaiian style tuna nachos u won't stop eating! The reason why I gave them a 4 on value is because I find the appetizers a little over priced, the gnocchi is amazing but to charge 19 $ is a little over priced

My first visit to Mike's Bistro since they moved to the East Side, and was very impressed. The flavors were extremely sophisticated and the dishes were beautifully composed and presented . The service was attentive and the waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and consultative . Can't wait to return .

We had dinner with some froeids and they seleted Mike's Bistro. Meals are not cheap here, and at least part of the cost is due to the kosher supervision required, The place was quite busy, attesting to its reputation for fine food. I found our waiter was quite knowledgeable about the offerings, and provided useful details when asked. My main couse was well-prepared. I'd say go here, and see how a varied menu of well prepared dishes could be prepared with kosher supervision and be popular to orthodox Jewish patrons.

Love this place. Was there for Passover, and at other times. The food is always exceptional. I stopped ordering steak at restaurants as it was always so disappointing. Had to try it at Mike's, and it's amazing - always. As is everything else that you order. And we always sit/eat at the bar - the bartender is great. Super friendly, helpful, and provides great service. She makes the whole experience even better.

Food is always excellent here as was the service. We always sit at the bar for a more relaxed meal, but was very comfortable. Only downside was that our steak was cold when served which is unusual for them, but it was still delicious! Also, be sure to check out and understand the tipping policy before going - it's not very clear, and it's a bit unusual

My wife and I had dinner at Mike’s Bistro on 54th St. on the advice of friends. It was a great experience. The servers were very knowledgeable and accommodated our slightly hurried schedule, as we had theatre tickets. Great appetizers and we had the veal special for 2 (combination of veal loin and ribs) which was very good. I need to come back to try one of their renowned steaks.

The experience is a delectable one from start to finish. Service is friendly and attentive. Roy is a gem. Drinks are great. The food is absolutely divine. Most restaurants have some items that are their specialties. At Mike's, anything you order is tasty, perfectly done, and well presented. You need reservations as it's a pretty busy restaurant. If you haven't been there, treat yourself . Thank me later!

food is good service erratic tables too close always too noisy but certainly a visit for those seeking good choice well prepared and strictly kosher

What an amazing, beautiful and delicious food restaurant, excellent service, even the simple mushroom sauce was delicious.

the price fix was $ 75 for lunch - I had the small chicken - it was disappointing . I felt for $ 75 dollars price fix for lunch I was short changed . food was fair . below what I was used to at mikes . service was good .

Went there with my husband for the first (and last) time recently, hoping for a rare quiet meal away from our kids and of course great food. What we got was a noisy, kid-filled dining room and two tiny entrees that wouldn't fill a toddler. If I spend $110 on a meat dinner I expect to leave full. My husband and I are both thin and we are not big eaters but even for us a 3 oz. +/- piece of meat is not adequate. I also wonder why their NYC restaurant "grade" was listed as pending. If you are looking for a nice kosher meat meal in the city you can do better. Rip-off.

Great service, very attentive without being overboard. A little noisy at the end, but very tolerable. Wonderful salad, though not very filling- sliced lamb was a bit too fatty for my taste, but delicious. My lamb shank entree was very tasty ( ordered it last time too) and a large portion. I asked for mashed sweet potatoes last time, which I think goes better than boring mashed potatoes which comes with the lamb. Husband had a wonderful chicken entree that was tasty and large, but not ridiculous in size. Would recommend to others and will go back-

Food is good but quite pricey for its offering. I also didn't love the ambiance, but the waiters were friendly and the place was clean. I would recommend this to friends or coworkers looking for a meal who aren't price-sensitive.

Chef Mike is probably the best there is has a passion for food and loves what he does the fish is fresh as you can get flown in from Hawaii the meat top of the line everything he cooks is absolutely delicious The desserts are scrumptious his selection of wines top of the line and a fun place to dine if you want the finest servers ask for Roy or Lonnie what a team they are

great atmosphere, amazing service and on top of that all it's the food that nobody can beat. everything is full of taste and delicious, nice big place with a bar in the front. price is not cheap at all, and portions are not that big.

I went there for a business dinner and they sat us at a private room which was great! The menu did not look that impressive but the food was!!! The Carpaccio was just delicious and so were the Gnocchi! Everybody liked their food and specially great for those looking for Kosher... Not cheap!

I was recently staying in NY , I myself had never been to Mike's Bistro and was eager to try it, as the menu was different from most other Kosher Restaurants. I invited the Chef Concierge and the Suite Attaché (who had never been to a kosher restaurant before) from The Towers of The Waldorf. The food and services was just perfect, really. I am not a food critique but Michael Romei (the Chef Concierge) is quite an expert and he was very impressed that, he took photos of the meals and posted a review on line to share with others in the Hospitality industry. That's a pretty big deal, he has been at the Towers for over 30 years and is world renowned. Angel the Suite Attaché was also impressed and mentioned that she would recommend it and looks forward to going again even though she has no need to eat kosher. KOL HAKAVOD MIKES BISTRO. I wish you continued hatzlocho. I am back in Australia now. I look forward to tasting more of the menu on my next trip.

We were told we had one hour to eat because we didn't have a reservation. My husband ordered chicken which came with rice and no vegetable. You'd think at $39 they would add a small salad. I ordered the gnocchi appetizer. It had a very salty sauce and tasted quite fat. When we didn't order a dessert the waiter al out threw us the check. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Fabulous
In my experience, there has never been, a kosher restaurant, until Mike's Bistro that met EVERY excellent standard possible. The food was out of this world fantastic! Our waiter, Lonnie, anticipated our needs, was very personable and very professional, and the atmosphere was just beautiful. Although it is very pricey, it was worth every cent.
