Best kosher burger place

By Chaim G |

Already our second time here, we love the place. We had the BLT and Blueberries-Mojito both times and we were not disappointed at all. Would recommend this place for a nice easy night out with a light and easy atmosphere. Will come back.

Truly a grill master

By TheTzvi |

Had to eat quickly before catching an uber to JFK and when I explained this to the waiter he told us just what to get. I have rarely encountered such truthful, cheerful, and accurate waitstaff. I have rarely had such a finely grilled lamb burger. My wife had a turkey burger. Both grilled to perfection just as we asked and the presentation was neat and clean and juicy. Regular refills of our water glasses and courteous service. Who could ask for more. Worth a visit and good value.

good food. good service.

By Stephen1949 |

Had a great lunch. There is something for everyone on the menu from vegetarian to lovers of smoked meats. Staff was friendly and efficient. Kid-friendly. Reasonable prices.

Non Trust Worthy

By nyrangers24 |

I have been many times and always enjoy the food. Three days after going here, I was checking my credit card bill and noticed that they charged me more than double what my meal cost and my receipt says. I don't know how they were able to do this, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. They simply can't be trusted.

WOW...great KOSHER burgers!

By Judy S |

Get there early, gets busy and noisy by 6:30! We loved our burgers and fries. My grandson went for the biggie...pulled beef burger and he was VERY happy! Gluten free buns available. Waitstaff was helpful and accommodating! Way downtown near Houston St.

Best Burgers

By Bernard W |

We enjoyed Smoked burger ($15) and Funghi burger ($16). Both were cooked perfectly and very delicious. Very meaty and filling. Waiter "RJ" couldn't have been nicer and was very helpful with directions, too. The burgers came out quickly. Highly recommend.

Love Mocha Burger in the Village!

By Michele F |

There's an excitement about being in the Village. Finally there's a really good kosher burger place in the exact location it belongs! My husband and I went there on Sunday night. Our wait time was short; the service was very good and the burgers were yum! The place is noisy - as would be expected in burger bar type place. It's fun to eat there.

Great food & service

Rocking Late night Kosher Burger

By JSManchesterUK |

Arrived about midnight After Shabbos and the place was rocking with young folk! Fantastic burgers, I had wings and guacamole. A fund place to go and great food.

Pricey and not good

By Melanie T |

I came here for a team lunch one Thursday afternoon at around 12:30. The first thing that I noticed was that the menu items were pretty expensive, for no reason. A grilled chicken sammie with a side salad (not even fries) runs for $18. So I figured if I'm gonna pay that much for a sandwich, I might as well try something new. That's when I decided to go with the Impossible Burger. I heard that this burger tastes just like red meat but I wasn't sure what the ingredients were, and our waitress wasn't sure either. Still, I decided to get it anyway. They ask you how you want it cooked and I told them "medium rare", which it was not. The burger itself didn't taste like anything special, but I feel like maybe they just didn't cook it right here. The bread was also a bit stale tasting. I'd try the Impossible Burger again, but just not here. The saving grace was the chipotle mayo they had. I slathered it on every bite, which made the burger a lot better tasting. Definitely would not recommend this place. I'm sure there are better Kosher restaurants out there for a better price point.

Best Kosher Burgers

By ALRHA |

Mocha Burger has arguable one of the best Kosher burgers in NY. The atmosphere is young and fun. Most everything on the menu is delicious, as is dessert.

Poor experience

By ISAAC T |

I am appauled by the service the girl (the owners daughter) that decided to take a stance on not listening or respecting me as a customer. Simple customer says they not happy see what you can do to change it. Not say I will not accommodate. This is pretty shameful. I was truly looking forward to a positive experience I had heard great reviews.

Great kosher food amazing Service

By Amit K |

Loved the burgers Very friendly service Place was packed ! Lots of burger and steak options and bar full with good alcohol Loved the place

YUMMY YUMMY

By DarcygirlToronto |

My daughter and I went to this place for dinner - absolutely delicious. The decor is very modern, the front of the place has that big garage door that opens up so you are sitting with full breeze or sun, depending on when you go. I had the classic burger, fries and a coke, and my daughter had the turkey burger, fries and a coke - $63 U.S. after tax and tip - so yes, a bit pricey even without the poor Cdn. exchange rate right now - but believe me, the place was full and the food was great, as was the service. Regardless of the price, I would go again, and as my daughter is Jewish, we would go becaus the food is Kosher...they have a BLT on the menu - lamb bacon....sounded yummy, but I passed.

Great Burgers and Nice Setting

By Marc R |

Finally a very tasty NYC kosher Hamburger joint in a nice location with a great vibe. It's one of the better places and a friendly crowd. On the warm summer evening, the front of the restaurant was completely open to the street and made it a fun place to gaze. The food was great tasting and the deserts were original. They just need to infuse the wait staff with a bit more personality and pleasantries.

Great food and service, cool place, a bit pricey

By David-HaMevaker |

First time there. Nice decor and ambiance. Not a quite spot but nothing in NYC is. Jalapeño burger was good but could have been a bit spicier. Truffle oil fries were addictive. Waiter was effective and nice without being overbearing. Overall good place. A bit pricey at $50 for burger, fries, beer, and tip but that’s NYC.

Great kosher hamburgers

By Josh G |

Large, excellent hamburgers. The meat was fresh, juicy and tasty, and came with crisp, tasty onions and good condiments. The service was excellent. Prices are somewhat high (around $35-40 USD per burger) but that's probably to be expected for NYC.

Expensive and good

By 3000calories |

Not cheap but fun menu for kosher meat lovers. Went with a BLT, the bacon being lamb bacon. It also had lettuce, tomato, onion and a fried egg. Hard to eat and fell apart but they give you a strong knife to deal with that. Table was off kilter so made it tough to cut while holding the table down. Service was fine. Place was empty during lunch.

The food was good, the wait was long but definitely worth the wait.

By estherp618 |

The ambience, for me, it might have been Mocha at its busiest but it was bustling and crazy busy, so....until we got our food. However, the food was really good and the service acceptable which means you sorta feel like you're forgotten a little bit in the hustle and bustle. The ambience was a little too loud, so accept that for what it's worth. When you're younger, maybe you could take all the noise, but I kind of like to chill in the evening. I would still return, though.

Everything tempting that you want to eat and CAN eat here! Great service, too!

By savebythesea |

Everything tempting that you want to eat and CAN eat here! Great service, too! Edgy decor...cute short round glasses. Great menu with lots of options. I couldn't decide between the salmon burger or the barbecue brisket, but I wanted meat, so I had the brisket and it was delicious. My compatriot had a burger with lamb bacon...it was juicy and very tasty...all in all, the best place you could choose for lunch.

Kosher burger , steak place

By Edward Safdieh |

Very cool place. you wouldn't know it was glatt kosher from the looks. We had burgers, they serve wine . the staff is attentive and cool .

We got a good laugh....

By Jean B |

Well, I was there with my family over Christmas and we went there for lunch simply because we were walking and we were starving, no idea of the place. Very pricy for what you get (nachos $32, wings for $18, etc. etc..... The food was extremally painful to eat, wings were simply with barbeque sauce and nothing more, my nachos was a pile of stuff with a weird smell and almost nothing to eat except tortilla chips, the exception was my wife burger which was good (again $32). We have few drinks assuming they have it (beer were out of stock) and our waitress had hard time taking our order. At least, we were in holidays and we just laugh about the whole thing, better because my bill was over $150 for 2 appetizers and 1 burger + 3 drinks. A total joke!!!

food excellent - service horrible

By tinkerbellwp |

the food is really good - but the service was non existent to bad . out of 5 people 2 plates of food arrived cold. we didn't bother to send back because the staff was nowhere. I never had to wait for the bill before - especially when there is a line of people out the door. the staff was just not around or doesnt not care enough tot check in on us. Not good business

Overpriced and low quality meat

By 639mendels |

The place is nice and clean. But the food we tried 2 chiken plates and where no good The prime stake is very low quality I guess it's some imported meat from South America. It's definitely not a USA first cut. And the service is extremely slow. One thing they have good is burgers and fries

RUN AWAY!

By Yoni N |

We went to dinner at this restaurant yesterday after our first day in New York. We were hungry, and we thought, we will eat a burger in New York, and on top of that the best as they say on their website!!! But we have never eaten something so bad I say something because it was anything but hamburger! My children who have the new palate and love, the burgers have left three quarters! Meat as hard as a sole, yet it is a minced steak, there is nothing complicated! The bread was not unctuous!! In short, a catastrophe!! And to top it all off $310 for six burgers infecting two, Coke a bottle of water and a plate of 6 nuggets! I’m not used to posting, but here for the shot it’s a shit to really run away.

GRATUITY ADDED ON PARTY OF THREE WITHOUT NOTICE! GREAT FOOD, BUT NOT GOING BACK!

By Bos U |

I would normally give 5 stars as the food was excellent. I am giving 3 stars because of the tip issue. It does say on the menu in small letters that they will add 18% tip for parties of 5, but no-where does it say 18% added to all checks. Their loss, I normally tip 20%, but I am offended by this automatic addition of a gratuity. There was no reason to suspect no tip was going to be offered as all three of us were in business suits and neckties. I ordered the $50 steak well-done and it was still deliciously juicy. I got the soup of the day which came in a bowl barely filled to the middle (a rip-off). My 2 friends enjoyed their meal too. Service was fair. The usual NYC restaurant where one guy takes the order, busboys bring the order (they do not speak English), the waiter shows up 30 minutes later when we are totally done eating. I will not return here over the tipping issue. It is very offensive and presumptuous.

This is BURGER HEAVEN

By Pinny G |

I have been to quite a number of burger joints across the country. When starting my new job 2 years ago there was nothing of the kosher variety nearby. In comes in Mocha Burger with their succulent variety of burgers, and also their other chicken dishes like buffalo lollies, and steak. They NEVER disappoint! I have been here at least a dozen times so far, and each time is better than the next! Definitely recommend coming here. Yes, its kosher so the price of $15 for a burger is kinda high for the non-kosher consumer...but well worth it! They also have great desserts in a jar, and an assortment of non-alcoholic specialty drinks.

Kosher that is really Glatt kosher with Bacon burger

By loveoffun |

hungry for some bacon cheese burger. and you wano be with a few and be louder than "schul"..you know LOUD. no liquor ..no real drinks..be aware! so have a few cocktails somewhere lovely and get together in this new small burger joint for some meaty greasy yummies' . my mocha burger was wellcooked as they only serve over medium cooked as kosher.. but was really well salted and fresh. a huge bun and a stabbing steak knife to keep it together..wild.. order a lovely packaged $9 little sized fries on the side and for a few dollars more you may have some sauce. the meat ball are served hot in tomato sauce or..the lamb bacon cheese burger was Dian's favorite from the menu not knowing the cheese if fake and the lamb bacon is from the tusch of the lamb..lol the satay was overcooked so khaya had a hard time eating but trying to show kosher is good!! all together we had a wonderful evening. our server chris made it happen. we were loud fed happy and can not wait to go back when the liquor license kicks in..yum

Excellent kosher burger with GF options

By Shmulik B |

We tried the BLT with lamb for bacon. Food was great, service was excellent. The menu has many good options to try next rime.

Delicious food, great service

By Chaim K |

I took my wife here for her birthday. We got a Hawaiian burger, Delmonico steak and Dinosaur ribs, plus two desserts later. Everything was delicious, I especially recommend the ribs, the sauce is a national treasure. The waiter never said no to a single request, and was very attentive despite the crowd. One bit of advice: don't bother with the truffle fries. They taste fine, but I couldn't tell the difference between them and the regular fries, so save yourself the extra $3.

GARBAGE

By Sebastian E |

Ordered an overpriced burger through Seamless and was charged a $6.00 delivery fee plus a $5.00 delivery tip. Over two hours later (and after both contacting Seamless and calling the restaurant directly) - NOTHING ARRIVED. The restaurant - LOCATED A BLOCK AWAY - never even bothered to answer the phone or reach out accordingly, leaving me hungry, frustrated, and unable to order from anywhere else by that time. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Place is GARBAGE.

Great burgers

By NewsFromtheHolyLand |

A great place to have a nice kosher burger and chat with friends. Food is very good and location is very good.

Really good burgers

By Fiona J |

If you're looking for a good burger, especially a kosher one, this is a great spot. I love the mushroom burger they serve here. My friends seemed to be a bit let down in some of the sandwiches they ordered and service here can be a bit slow, but that aside, if you are in the mood for a burger - head here (remember, it's kosher, so it's going to be pricey!)

Delicious but pricy

By Manny |

I had the pulled beef burger. My boys had the funghi burger and roast chicken plates. Everything was generous and delicious. But at $190 for six people (20% tip included), it is pricy for family fare.

Great food - poor service

By Avrum W |

Was there on a Sunday afternoon - was very busy. The service was slow and inconsistent, had to ask waiters few times to get help. The food was delicious, their burgers are outstanding.

Kosher Carnivores

By Sam T |

Great place to treat the grandkids when they only eat kosher food. The 10-year-old had two sliders and the six-year-old had one hot dog and fries. Mommy got a gluten-free bun free on her BLT. That's a Burger with lamb "bacon" and lecture and tomato. Vegans can get impossible burgers.

Kosher Burgers and More in Greenwich Village

By lone6star |

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner, and at first it was easy to get a table, then later there was a standing line. Place is unique as you enter thru a door that is adjacent to a Garage Door, which I guess they open during warm weather. Decor is a brick wall inside to showcase that you are in NYC. Service was fast and great! Food was excellent and everything was cooked to order. I had the lamb burger which was excellent. Expect to pay from $13 to $21 for a burger. They also have steak and chicken and veggie items. This is not a cheap eats place, but the food is of high quality. A bar is located in the back and they also have some TV's to watch sporting games. Negatives: one unisex bathroom, waitress was a bit pushy, small fries at $9 and they were very crunchy. Parking is via street meters.

One of the best burgers in NYC

By GlobetrotterNYC212 |

Top notch burger, the fried egg and lamb bacon put it over the top. The poutine and milkshake (halva flavor) were also great. I wish they had a liquor license...but other than that its a perfect spot to relax with friends or eat out with the family.

AMAZING KOSHER BURGER

By ann k |

I think we are burger experts and it was without doubt one of the best burgers The hostess was really bad and the service was fair to bad but the food amazing and worth it all I would go again in a heart beat

Worth it, for the most expensive burger I'd ever eaten

By NossonMeir |

My NYC-dwelling daughter laid down the law: the next time we came to NY, she would pick out the restaurant, not us. There aren't an infinite number of kosher restaurants in New York, but enough that she didn't have to be taken to the same middle-eastern one all the time. OK: so she said we'd go to Mocha Burger in the Village, just above Houston St. I'd gone to grad school in that neighborhood over 30 years ago, but this was a scuzzy neighborhood back then. Now, gentrified. The on-line menu showed mostly burgers, and some steaks. I wouldn't usually waste my time ordering a burger at a restaurant - I grill at home - but the Prime Short Rib burger at $32 called to me. Best.Burger.Ever. Came with fries. Party of 6 all enjoyed their meals: 5 burgers, one chicken sandwich. A couple of appetizers which were meh. Service was excellent. Constant refills of pitchers of water. 20% added to bill automatically.

The prime place for hamburgers

By Sam T |

If you are into grass fed, hormone free, free range cows in Greenwich Village this is the place for you. Small restaurant but very attentive staff. Casual dining at fine dining prices.

Very good burgers

By Daniela C |

Delicious, great burgers, very well served dishes, great nachos and fries too.

Solid poutine. Great service after they finally started giving service.

By Eli W |

Waited quite some time for a table, and even after we were seated, we waited some time for a waitress. Once she arrived through, the service was good and the food was good as well. We had poutine which was solid, and the burgers were A-Ok.

Got SALMENELA eating here!!

By Doron Brookhim |

If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't eat here unless you want to get SALMENELA. I vomited all night long after 1 hour ordering their Hawaiian burger and it ruined my entire plans for next day. I still feel the effects of this virus and they don't give a damn. When I called to get a refund they said they'd call me back and never did. Worst customer service ever and disgrace of a kosher restaurant charging so much for crap food and service. DO NOT EAT HERE!!

decent food awful wait staff!

By Michael E |

we were there for Mothers Day, and the wait staff was obnoxious and inefficient! I actually requested another waiter, as mine was literally a creep!! my food, the fish and Ceasar salad was nauseous, though my wife and kids liked their burgers.

Great Burgers and Drinks

By TrailTrekker15 |

My wife and I had burgers and drinks here on evening. The drink selection was outstanding, and we both ordered Israeli wines. My wife is vegan and ordered a veggie burger while I ordered a lamb burger. We split a side of fries. Everything was excellent! The service and atmosphere were great as well!

Great place for food in NY

By Gary H |

fantastic restaurant offering all kind of delicious dishes. Highly recommend to couples, friends and families alike. Love the burgers and sandwiches here.

Great kosher food!

By Emma H |

We went there as a family. The food was great. The burgers were quite big but we ordered one for two people and split it. We especially liked the lamb bacon.

Very nice kosher restaurant

By Foodeatersa |

The menu has a great selection for us meat lovers. There are a few options for vegetarians. We had the burgers. They were very good. I just found the bun, a little sweet. The fries were delicious. The ambiance in the restaurant was good and we didn’t have to wait too long for a table. I did find the restaurant quite expensive.

It's expensive but it's so good!

By Precillia B |

Located in a great neighborhood. Kosher meat and burger restaurant. The meat is certified without GMOs or antibiotics. Shredded beef tacos to die for. Super generous burger. Crispy fries as they should be. Beef skewers with a not-sickening bbq sauce, in short, really good! Still count on 40 to 50 dollars per person at least!

Terrible food

By avip7 |

We visited this place this week and we ordered the double burger special The burgers were hard as a rock and not tasty We will never come back

Great food, Great place

By Brooklyn |

We were there a couple of times. The food is amazing and the service is great. Its also just a fun place to sit and eat. Looking forward to going back there!

Food great (5) service and atmosphere dismal (1)

By Frequent001 |

You won’t find a tastier kosher burger in NYC. That’s it for the positive. Service was dismal, with the only explanation that they were busy. (10 minutes to take order 30+ to get burger on top of a misquoted wait time of 20. )!Host was rude and barely understood English. Sat at bar, where bartender was too busy making drinks to offer good service. Seat was practically in aisle and was bumped constantly by staff and guest. LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! Tight space. Only ONE unisex restroom for entire restaurant. Asked to speak to manager and talked to someone who described herself as sort of manager. Took20% off bill as if that made it all good.

Good kosher food

By booptraveler |

Visiting NY I've been to a few kosher restaurants this week because my family is kosher. I usually do not find the food at kosher restaurants to be worth what you are charged and I find the restaurants themselves crowded and noisy. Mocha Burger was a pleasant change. The good was very tasty and while not inexpensive the quality was there. The waiter / manager was very attentive. It is a relatively small restaurant but they did not attempt to pack in the tables so there is space between tables and you can carry on a conversation.

Crappy and crappier on top of crappy

By baruch m |

Terrible terrible Service horrible horrible wait staff. Inconsiderate and unaccommodating I've never seen anything like that before they used to be nice but I guess they gave up on customer care and service.

Very good quality meat

By xedxgex |

Mocha does not offer just burgers, but even skewers, sliders and other grill specialties. Sides are good crunchy and tasty potatoes (try the home sweet ones), fried onions and fresh vegetables. Beef is very soft and fresh, spiced well making the meat tasteful without covering the taste. No alcohol here, and could be the only bad point (a glass of wine could be great companion for a steak). Prices are average / low and makes mocha burger a really good choice for anyone eating kosher in the area. Seems sushi is served aswell..
