I had dinner at Momoya Soho at 6:30 pm, and it was an unforgettable experience. I tried the tuna tartar, half a dozen Kumamoto oysters, and both the spicy tuna roll and salmon avocado roll. Every bite was beyond delicious—just thinking about it again makes my mouth water! The tuna tartar, although a small portion, was incredibly tasty, with a sauce that was simply to die for. The oysters were heavenly and so satisfying. The rolls were exceptionally fresh, perfectly made, and absolutely delicious. I sat at the sushi bar, where the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff, from the waiters to the sushi chefs, were all friendly and wonderful. I had a lovely experience and will definitely be returning on my next visit to NYC. Funny enough, I discovered this gem after randomly asking three guys on the street for sushi recommendations—they looked like they had good taste, and they certainly did!

Since the moment I saw a beautiful picture of a parfait, I have been wanting to visit Momoya SoHo. The inside was long and a narrow, with counter seat on one site, and tables on the other side. I know I wanted their glorious parfait, but we decided to make that into a nice lunch and a dessert. We ordered Momoya Box to share. It is a Chef Tasting of Mini Chirashi Bowls. Look at these beauties! Look like mini jewelry boxes filled with delicious goodness. It come with a choice of soup or salad. The staff was so kind enough to provide salad for the two of us with the one entree. We appreciated that so much! I believe the ingredients for Mini Chirashi Bowls change based on what is in season. We received a great array of seafood and fish, and also dashimaki tamago. The fresh sashimi pieces just melt in your mouth. We so loved them all! All the ingredients were fresh, delicious, not fishy at all. They were as great as I wanted them to be. The individual bowl is not large, so if you want to order this for one person, it is doable if you are really hungry. We shared all the bowls, so it was not super easy, but not that hard to do. We visited Momoya SoHo in July, so their parfait was Summer themed. To me, it looked more like Spring than Summer…Anyways, it was a masterpiece! It had a pamphlet, explaining the inspiration behind this creation by the pastry chef, and the list of all the ingredients that went into making this parfait. You lift the top part off the parfait, so it essentially becomes two desserts. The parfait came with Golden Orange Honey Syrup on the side. The staff told us to pour that over the bottom portion of the parfait. The rhubarb and berry had strong acidic, tart flavor. The honey syrup was necessary here to balance the overall flavor. We had a nice lunch here. The food was tasty and satisfying. The dessert was as beautiful and exciting as I wanted it to be. The service was friendly, polite, and very welcoming. The experience at Momoya Sosho made us want to go back again for more tasty food and a new parfait as the season changes.

The service and presentation of food was exceptional. The sushi was fresh, tasty, with a creative touch.

As a sushi aficionado, I have been hounding this sushi chef over the past decade and most recently I found him here at Momoya Soho. Choose Omakase and find out what one of the best sushi chefs in NYC can do for you.

If I could rate it more I would Great customer service every dish we order was amazing Everything we order was delicious Make sure to order haru ranman for deserts ….who ever create this dessert is a genius

The service and presentation of food was exceptional. The sushi was fresh, tasty, with a creative touch.

My boyfriend and I love Momoya and decided to try the new location for date night. We appreciate that Soho takes reservations. The staff was very accommodating as they offered to hold my luggage at the front while we dined. The food and drink were excellent. We will surely be back.

great spot downtown, loved the rolls and best sashimi platter ! it was excellent and fish so very fresh. I tried something new that was included in the platter. I recommend! and will be back :)

Had an awesome time at Momoya Soho! The vibe is super cool, kinda like dining in a chic, futuristic fishbowl. Sushi was top-notch – fresh, tasty, and some pretty creative rolls. Staff were friendly and knew their stuff, which made the whole experience even better. Def recommend checking it out if you're into amazing sushi and cool spots in the city!

The food and service at Momoya Soho were ok. Sadly no more than that. Nothing was wrong, just not exceptional or even very good. We were very disappointed as we expected so much more. For over $500 I expect a lot more

I went to this restaurant with my daughter. The quality of the food is not disputed but the service leaves something to be desired. The waiter who served us was annoying, slow in fulfilling our requests regarding the beverage and rude overall. Service in a restaurant is as important as the quality of the food presented. However I repeat that the food was of excellent quality.

Sushi comes in small pieces. Western style sushi has lots of rice and not very good topping. Sukiyaki is fancy but too small portion for $35 a plate. The restaurant space it terrible and added balconies are small narrow corridor with some big plastic flower cheap decoration. Service is excellent. You should skip it.

Nice quiet Asian oriented restaurant. We had the bento box and that was more than enough for lunch. Very kind waitress, very fast service.

I don’t understand why he isn’t higher in the Ranking. I have been there twice this year, the sushi is very good, fresh. Awards are more than right for the city. The restaurant is well located.

I am never disappointed when I come here, from the food to the staff always top notch. I especially enjoy Fridays nights, the end of the work week to sit and enjoy delicious food.

Excellent Sushi. Everything was amazing. We sat upstairs. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant. We will be back for sure!

The sushi was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful! We had the lunch special which was the perfect size.
Overrated and overpriced
While this is a pretty restaurant with a lively dining scene, the portions are too small for the price and the food is rather ordinary. It is hard to spend less than $100 a person for food that I could get at my neighborhood go-to Japaneses restaurant for $40.
