Excellent restaurant for American seafood, with very good cocktails, drinks of all kinds and desserts. We ate a tuna bowl, a lobster sandwich that was from the gods and a Philadelpia Steak sandwich that was second to none and ended up with American coffee and a brownie with vanilla ice cream and additional delicious coffee ice cream. Attention was 10 out of 10

Monty’s is a place we would bring our daughter to when she was a little girl and today we came to celebrate her and her husband’s 5th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Everyone had a fabulous time! Izzy and Bianca took amazing care of our group! They were attentive to every detail and very friendly. We felt very relaxed and happy! The drinks and food were delicious. Totally recommend the Pain Remover , Coconut Shrimp and Shrimp Pasta! The servers even brought out plates and spoons when it was time to serve our cake! Can’t wait to have another reason to celebrate so we can come back !

Late on writing this review but had to come back to give Jonathan his credit! He was a great server and was able to give us great recommendations for the food and places to visit. Ask for him next time you’re at Montys!!

I think it's an iconic spot in Coconut Grove, I've been there for many years... the view is great, the people... the bar is very quiet and the bartenders are super friendly, good appetizers... the bad thing is the music, it's not good, the sound is terrible and it's honestly boring. Many years ago, going to Monty's was all about dancing and the beach, but not anymore.

The food was amazing, my server was Adriana R, and she was amazing. definitely above and beyond ! i recommend anyone to go if you’re looking for a spot with good food and amazing costumer service !!

Visited Monty's after a few years and I was pleasantly surprised that they a) changed the menu and b) the food is actually good! Carla our server was great, very nice and personable. We started with tha clam chowder which was delicious. Ordered mozzarella sticks and fried calamari, calamari was perfect, not overly greasy like other places and you can tell they were made for us, not just sitting in the kitchen waiting for someone to order them. The poke bowl was a nice size and quite a bit of tuna too. The Pan con Bistec was a good size sandwich and tasted delicious. It doesn't come with french fries since it has the stick potatoes in the sandwich. The fish tacos come with 3 tacos but also a good amount of fish and the side corn salad was very good too. The fish and chips is always a favorite and you can not go wrong with that and lastly the American burger. The burger is so big I was not able to finish it, fries were nice and crisp and the burger was cooked to perfection. Dessert was the brownie with ice cream, which we all shared and was also quite good to end our meal. Will definitely be coming back now that I know the food is good. They still have the live music and you can't beat the view. Parking ticket is validated as well.

Outdoor lunch in a very nice location (next to the port of Miami) with a fairly large selection of foods/snacks. Service to be reviewed, everything is a bit confusing because there is a lot of customers but not enough staff...

Outdoor but covered restaurant. Basic food and delicious cocktails. Screens spread throughout the restaurant with live sporting events. Very attentive staff. The correct and abundant food. We ate some tacos, a hamburger and two cocktails for $90 with tip included.

We parked in lot 72 had a walk and decided on Monty’s for food and a drink. We had the tuna poke bowl which was very fresh and tasty as well as nachos with chicken. Added bonus was 3 hours parking free. Nice location. Very busy great atmosphere.

Came here today with a bunch of friends from the British women’s club of Miami and had wonderful meal with outstanding service. You can park next door for free in the Dade county parking lot and get your ticket validated. Service by Jonathan was outstanding and we all gave him extra tips. Food was delicious - no complaints other than the music was too loud and we had to ask two or three times to have it turned down as we could not hear ourselves talk, but Jonathan managed to get that taken care of for us as well. Looking forward to coming back here again soon!

Here they charge you $15 to cook the fish you bring! They say $15 for us to cook the fish and you have two sides as well, which we thought were included in the total. The food was lovely and all until the bill came. $300 for 6people with fish we caught and two sides each! Then we asked if we had to have got the sides and they said the sides were not an option, you had to get them!

Pouring rain so not the usual outdoor experience. The food was good. Poke Bowl was very fresh and the Oysters Rockefeller were tasty. Service was friendly at the bar. They add an 18% service charge to your bill. I was surprised at that and glad I noticed.

Open air seating was very comfortable with several different options for tables. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the fun upbeat atmosphere right on the water.

Kassy was a fantastic server! We are in town for one evening before boarding a cruise the next day and we are so glad we went to Monty’s! The DJ played fun music during our dinner and the drinks were delicious too! We sampled a few menu items to get some seafood as we live Colorado and fresh seafood is not available. The ceviche with chips was so good! We loved the crab cake also! We will definitely be back when we are in Miami!

On our first night in Coconut Grove we walked from our hotel to Monty’s and enjoyed a delicious dinner on the Biscayne Bay waterfront. The setting was casual, and the food was all well prepared. We enjoyed great frozen margaritas during happy hour and fresh, delicious fish. Highly recommend the Mahi Mahi. What a popular restaurant—for good reason.

Originally came to sit with a good friend of mine who is a server (Alvaro) but unfortunately he had already been cut from his shift. Instead we sat with Jenny, and she was amazing! Super sweet! Even recommended how we should try oysters since it was our first time lol. Overall great experience. 10/10

The restaurant was quite large and open. The ambiance was pleasant and friendly. The service was excellent with the wait staff very attentive and accommodating without being overbearing. The food itself was adequate but,truthfully, nothing special-except for the Clam Chowder,which was exceptional. We had the grilled salmon and fish tacos ans main courses. The food was prepared nicely but a little to dry. It reminded me of pub-style food. Good but not outstanding.

Monty’s Raw Bar is a restaurant-bar located in Coconut Grove, with a very beachy and relaxed atmosphere. When we went, there was live Latin music, which made the experience even more enjoyable and fun. The food and drinks were pretty good, with good presentation and taste, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout the visit. Of course, you have to keep in mind that it is not an economical place. In addition, when sitting at the table, they apply an additional surcharge — if I remember correctly, between 20% and 30% — plus taxes, so, for example, a $160 tab ended up costing about 200. Still, it’s a place worth visiting for its atmosphere, ocean view and great music, ideal for enjoying a sunset cocktail or a relaxed dinner in a typical Miami setting.

Will likely be my last time here. Do not waste your time or money. Steadily declined in the 4 yrs I have been coming. Ordered the Lobster/ Shrimp grilled combo. Shrimp was inedible. Lobster - dry. Best part of the meal was the corn on the cob. $ 85.00 later, I had some ok corn on the cob. 19 percent service charge included - not worth it. Worst part- wafting sewerage smell probably emanating from a yacht not following the rules of disposal.

Very expensive spot on the pier for pretty average food. Just nothing really stands out. They made a lot of lists on eater and trip advisor but I would not make a special trip out here. We thought we'd spend most of an evening here but wound up leaving and walking to more interesting places down Bayshore. There are minimal views it's actually quite dark in parts of the restaurant. They also seem to have raised prices for happy hour recently. $2 oysters that didn't have much flavor. $8 stone crab legs, those were good. She crab soup was tasty but again expensive for a small cup. They do have some local beers on tap. Probably a nice place to grab a bite before or after you get off your boat at the piers but not worth a trip on its own.

Went here yesterday with friends. They had been coming here for years and said it was good location. Food was like something you'd get at a bar. For being in nice area, thought would be better. Service was average. Friend ordered a mojito and tasted terrible so sent it back and got a pina colada and was just as bad. I had a burger and was dry as could be. Really liked the atmosphere being right on Miami marina. Another huge issue was the birds. Several birds were flying around perching on pipe and beams above us. One pooped on girl and she was not happy. No clue why they dont put up spikes to prevent this. They arent very expensive and would prevent this. Owner is pretty cheap to not take this precaution to protect patrons. They was bird poop all over the place.

All open to the air, but covered tables, parking charges validated, and no reservations make for a fun evening, despite the automatic 19% "service" charge added to your bill. I guess it might be applied, like it seems for most area restaurants, because international visitors are not used to tipping at all, or for not more than 10%. Anyway, the Happy Hour (Virginia) oysters at $2 each were fine, as were the Grilled Mahi-Mahi ($27), served blackened without having been requested, and the Cazuela De Mariscos ($32) which need my help to be finished. Happy Hour $6.50 beer and $6 wine were appreciated.

We were at Monty's yesterday Nov 30, 2023 Was waited by Jennifer R. Table 31. Watch out for a service charge of 19 percent at receiving the check. I asked Jennifer what was this s/c all about. She said that she gets some of the charge, however she down played it to make it sound that its a very small cut and wasn't a tip. I fell in the trap and added another 20 dollars cash to the bill only to learn shortly after that the service provided consists of 3 persons, the Waitress, the bartender and the busboy so everyone is guaranteed their cut, the Waitress getting the bulk of it. I have seen this practice from many establishments. What happened here was that it seems Jennifer doesn't agree with this concept and wants 100 percent of the tip so she watered it down. It won't happen again as i will never dine at Monty's again. Nailed me once. The 19 percent charge is the Tip included.

Our server Christian was fantastic. We had the fried shrimp and garlic shrimp pasta and split each dish. Food was enjoyable and happy hour drinks were also good. A 15% “service charge” was hard to explain by our server and was not communicated or expected. The tip for the server was added by me afterwards. I have a problem with restaurants expecting their customers to pay their non-serving staff. The management of the restaurant should pay them, not the customers.

Very good restaurant which offers American and Mexican specialties! Excellent burgers! Very friendly staff! I advise

We Ubered here from our hotel. Upon arrival we were sat right away. This was a Friday night so there was a live DJ playing. It took a long time for someone to come greet us. The beer we wanted was no longer offered and the server said they had not updated the menus. We ordered a different beer. We ordered the mahi fingers for an appetizer. They were breaded and fried and came with 6 small pieces. Not really a good bang for your buck but they did taste good. We ordered the grouper dinner, which was excellent. It came with potatoes and salad as well, and the fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We also ordered the snapper sandwich. It was tasty but not as good as the grouper. We also ordered the mahi sandwich which was also nice and tasty. However, the server made it seem like the sandwich came with a side, so we ordered a Caesar salad, only to find out it was $6 extra. Overall the food was great and we enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was nice with the marina right there. We could see people coming and loading up wither yachts for a weekend trip. You can even walk around the marina there right next to the restaurant. The service was quite slow, but we were on vacation so we were patient. Upon receiving the bill, we noticed there was a 19% service charge already added to the bill. There was little explanation on the bill and our server did not mention this at all. We had to google it to find out that it really doesn’t go towards the server, but to the rest of the tipped out staff at the restaurant like bartenders, bussers, and food runners. I understand this, as I know that servers normally tip out a percentage of their sales to theses people, but I am not used to the customer paying for this. Due to this, we felt as though we had to leave the usual 20% for the server, therefore paying an extra 39% in tips on the tab. Just be prepared for that, or do your research, or ask your server so that you are not blindsided by this at the end as we were. Overall we enjoyed our meal here but we will probably not be back, as the prices are those high Miami Beach prices (and then add 39% tip).

This restaurant is beside a beautiful marina surrounded by beautiful boats. The seafood tower was amazing and so was the service.

I should start off by saying the food was nice, but we were disappointed with the service. We had caught fish with a local charter who told us that Monty’s would cook our catch for $15 pp for our group of 6. We were also told on arrival this came with 2 sides by the waitress which we thought was very generous. We were therefore surprised when the bill came and the sides were an additional $12 pp with a compulsory service charge of 19% added which they wouldn’t allow us to remove despite the miscommunication when we ordered. In the end they removed 6 sides ($36) which equated to the service fee. The food itself was nice so it was a bit of a shame this wasn’t handled better.

Exceptional service, Gigi was great. She went above and beyond to find the football channel that I wanted. I was very pleased with her service.

Not what it used to be quality is definitely not there. Mixed drinks are average and so is the food. It’s become a tourist trap

Great atmosphere and venue. I worry with restaurants in great locations like this that they don't need to excel in the food department, and this was the case, at least in our case. Melted velveta style cheese on nachos with store bought tasting guac, which is...fine. It just set a tone for what to expect with our main dishes. Our waitress was sweet and took off one of those dishes when she saw it was barely touched. She genuinely seemed concerned that we enjoy ourselves, and that goes a long way. We maybe came at an odd hour, between lunch and dinner. I would come for something like happy hour and later in the night as it is clearly more of a fun, festive, party with a group of friends kind of place, and it has that reputation with the locals (or at least our uber driver)

Food was fresh and delicious! Atmosphere was beautiful. Our server, Mari was great! Attentive, checked in with us and was on top of it!

We were looking for fresh seafood, and Monty’s delivered. Our waitress was friendly, and very helpful. The food was great. You can’t view the atmosphere-open air seating and ocean views. We will be back on our next visit to Miami!

We had a lovely lunch on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Our server Frances was super. Frances was great! Efficient and friendly.
