Marvelous Morton’s

By PInkFlops |

The best thing about Morton’s Steakhouse is that it consistently delivers delicious food and excellent service. The French onion soup may be the best I’ve ever had, the bread was warm, the butter perfectly whipped, the crab cakes are delightful (moist and a little sweet) and the creamed spinach on point! Enjoy!

Perfect Service

We really got served in a perfect way. The food was really extra ordinary. The meat was perfecty grilled as we wanted. Highly recommended.

Great Meal

By bobbyjoeny |

We were in Mid Town Manhattan to see the holiday displays and wanted to have a Big Meal so we decided on Morton’s Steak House. You absolutely need a reservation or it is almost impossible to get a seat in the restaurant. Fortunately we planned ahead. We got our table right on time. Our server Carol was awesome and did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food and drinks were delicious and I highly recommend visiting this establishment

Morton's Coral Gables, Florida

By profmedina |

Unfortunately, the overall experience was not what I was not completely what I expected. There is supposedly a dress code, which we followed, but people were being let in wearing shorts and attire that was not in line with their guidelines. As well, the waiter kept calling me "boss", which I found to be disrespectful. I just felt that the restaurant didn't live up to its name/fame although the food was very good.

Take out/ delivery

By Dee S |

I ordered delivery. I'm a RN here for crisis nursing. I miss home. I was hoping for a great steak that was close to what I get in the South. Morton's delivered! The steak was perfect. The only thing I missed was a bit of crusty bread to go with it. I can't wait to visit the restaurant... maybe open dining before I go home. Thanks to Morton's. They have a great steak and gave me a little home feeling while I'm hold up in a hotel here in Manhattan.

Perfect

By Joe N |

We had a conformed reservation at another well known steak house but after waiting 45 minutes we left and went to Morton's hoping we could get a table for 4. Bingo, no problem. 2 minute wait. Service tremendous and food awesome. A return to place for sure!

Excellent — in every dimension

By Tobias |

Very positive experience: excellent and very friendly, attentive service (which used to ¨be a bit unpredictable at this location when we were there before). Food was (as always) outstanding. Team made this a special evening — exactly what you expect from a place this like. Well done to the team!

very good quick lunch

By Summersnuggles |

Went with Gary for a quick lunch and it was as good as usual. Gary had the cheeseburger and salad. I had a salad and french onion soup. Service was excellent.

disappointing service after a good start...

By Sharon R |

i visited here for my 50th birthday and they were off to a great start until we nipped out for a cigarette and told them and even offered to leave our card while we were outside....we came back and they had completely cleared out table...including the rest of our $150 Champagne we had left!!!! shock horror this would happen!! it was rectified with taking the cost of one meal off the bill at $60

Second visit

By Mark P |

I’m from the UK and revisited Morton’s on our 2nd trip to NY. Like the first time the service was impeccable and my on the bone rib-eye steak absolutely melt in the mouth perfect. I love this place and don’t think you can go wrong with a steak here. My only minor criticism was the amount of pepper sauce served...small jug, I should of asked for more. You get what you pay for, Morton’s delivers, We will return the next time we come back to NYC

Perfect Meat Experience

By Sven E |

Staff is well trained, professional and friendly. Excellent food. Nice Location and furnishings. Prices are a little on the high side, but ist worth it.

A truly great dinner!

By yinzerinaustin |

At first, I was a bit concerned because I was put behind a post in the back of the dining room. However, it worked out because the front was starting to get noisy, and it was quieter where I was. I had the Restaurant Week menu, with the filet mignon with au poivre sauce with cognac, an excellent accompaniment. All the service was perfectly timed, and I'm looking forward to my next visit. Too bad we don't have Morton's in Austin!

Good

By L H |

Great location, very nice staff, very good crabcakes. Comfortable little bar area for drinks and hors d’oeuvres

Steaks and more

By bcheong |

A famous steakhouse chain in a few countries. We usually have the lobster bisque, carb cake, tuna tartare and caesar salad. All good. For steaks, i usually stick to the tenderloin. The sirloin and ribeye too chewy for me, especially dry aged. I never had desserts here since i’m stuffed, but they look good

Please improve the quality of your meat.

By Mary Victoria S |

The ambiance and service was great. The Caesar’s salad was good, cocktails were good, bake potato and dessert were okay BUT THE QUALITY of the steak a dry aged ribeye 14oz was a disaster. We have been going to Morton’s for decades and this time the quality of the steak was a disaster. So much muscle or unchewable parts of the steak that we had to spit the unchewable parts out and that at our favorite steak restaurant MORTON‘s . In fact we decided to just leave a third of the steak. Sad but true.

Amazing food and service to match

By J10WGM |

Recently we visited NYC for Christmas and our 2nd wedding anniversary, in a City filled with so many amazing restaurants one stood head and shoulders above the rest for us and that was Mortons on 5th Ave. Having made no reservations and deciding to play it by ear, whilst being dragged around 5th Ave by the wifes incessant love of shopping I noticed Mortons entranceway off 5th and decided to book our anniversary meal with them there. They accomodated us despite the short notice, when we arrived on the evening to a busy bar and restaurant there was a lively hum drum of people having a great time, we were greeted and had our coats taken by the front of house and promptly made acquaintance to the restaurant manager who welcomed us and wished us Happy Anniversary. We were shown to our table which was right close by the open kitchen and presented with special anniversary menus dated for the occasion which were ours to keep (one is now framed on our picture wall) and had a photo which was presented in a signed Mortons anniversary card. So to the food - literally as good a steak as I have ever eaten (including Seafire in Dubai and Beef Bar in Monte Carlo) and at a very reasonable price as well, 2nd to none service and a plethora of accompaniments to suit all tastes. There is also a delicious looking seafood element to the menu which I would definitely be trying next time. Completely stuffed and very happy the wife and I were set to head on into the night when the manager came back to ensure everything was well with our evening and then present us with a tasting platter of complimentary desert which ticked every box for the sweet tooth in us. All in all a trully exemplary dining experience and one which I look forward to repeating on my next trip to NYC

Disappointing 60th Birthday Dinner

By Jeanette |

We had reservation for 7:00 PM on October 23rd. We were delayed due to traffic and weather. My husband called and changed the reservation to 8:00 PM. The staff member that took the change did not inform us that the restaurant was only open until 9:00. We were greeted promptly and presented with a menu that said Happy Birthday and the date. Thing s went downhill after that. Took a good 30 minutes for my husband's soup to come and when he wanted pepper server was no where to be found. We finally received our dinner at 920PM Two steak Oscars and a baked potato to split. My steak was okay but my husband was not pleased at all with the taste. Potato was still somewhat hard inside and looked as if it had just been put in the microwave. While we were waiting for our dinner. The bar decided to start cleaning and turned up the lights so high our table was in a glaring spotlight. When we spoke to the manager they corrected this. Went outside for a cigarette and was locked out side. When my birthday free desert arrived it tasted okay but they did not bring me a fork. When my husband noted this and my upset over a ruined birthday dinner he tore up credit card receipt and the next one had no tip. I was very disappointed in what was supposed to be a very special night. We could have eaten many places but the good reputation of Morton's for excellent steaks and good service lead us there. I am sure that most people would be upset at the treatment received for the amount of money spent.

Unsurpassed service and food

By Mark P |

We went for our wedding anniversary and from start to finish, it was perfect. We were welcomed and congratulated on our anniversary and after a very short wait, provided a table.with a full view of the entire restaurant. The manager, Sommelier and waitress all quickly cam over to congratulate us and we were provided customized menus noting our anniversary. The waitress went over the menu offering serving suggestions. Needless to.say we both ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection. The restaurant even gave us a complimentary dessert and two glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversay. If your looking for a great place to celebrate an event or just have a great dinner, head here.

Great night a Morton's

By BackPacker567497 |

Excellent! It's a classic - the service, the food, the atmosphere. We had a great evening and the staff went above and beyond! Any steak on the menu will not disappoint.

Incredible

By Denisedib |

We went to this place and it was really amazing. The restaurant is very pleasant and confortable. It was my daughter’s Birthday. The waiters,Rachel was very kind and sweet. The dishes were perfect and during The dinner they surprised us with our picture in a card and after our dinner they brought to us a delicious Chocolat cake with an ice cream and a candle. It was an incredible experience. It was marvellous! I recomend to Vó to Morton’s ! Thanks Rachel for this pleasent dinner! Thanks Morton’s!

Best Birthday Dinner (for my dad)!

By Melissa G |

I'll start off by saying that I do not eat red meat. However, it was my father's birthday and I was outvoted by my family in which restaurant we were going to celebrate- and I am glad I was. I should've known it was special the minute I made the reservations I told them it was my dads birthday and they said they would print a special menu for him- I had no idea what that meant. In any case, the minute we walked in about 3 different people wished my dad a great birthday and made him feel special. We ordered our food (fish for the non carnivore) and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was excellent, the drinks as well and again, the attention given to us all- especially my father- was incredible. At the end they informed us that dessert was on them and took a photo of us with the dessert and printed for us. The whole experience was really unique and made us all feel special.

OK

By danw21674 |

Restaurant very expensive for what it is. Had better dining experiences elsewhere. Service not attentive and whilst you get a lot of it, food is just ok.

Simply Wow!

By Kelly B |

Visited here with my husband after reccomendation from a friend. We were visiting from England. We both had scollops to start followed by 18oz cajun steak and 12oz fillet with creamed mashed potatoes and sprouts. It was absolutely mouth water every dish! The service was fantastic from arriving to leaving. Constantly providing you fresh water and checking everything is ok. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and able to suggest and explain dishes. Very cosy atmosphere. Be warned though they serve you a complimentry loaf of bread which if in a group not a problem but just 2 of us, because it was so lovely we ate it all then struggled with our main, and trust me I never leave food so was gutted not to finish it all especially being as wonderful as it was. She brought the dessert menu and we just laughed🤣 If you dont enjoy this restaurant I suggest you get your taste buds sorted 🤪

Good food, but wincingly expensive and noisy.

By SeanIlkley |

Booked a relatively early table for one, which meant that the early-door drinkers were still in the bar on the left as you go in. Unfortunately, this bar is not insulated from the rest of the restaurant and the noise level bordered on the intolerable - one certainly had to shout at the waitress to get the orders across. The braying subsided as the meal went on, but it was not a good opening to the Morton’s experience. I had the lobster cocktail to start with ( $25 ) which arrived suspiciously quickly. This was a little sweet for my taste, but OK. My main course was an 8oz Filet Mignon ( $56 ), which was absolutely superb. No fries available, so I had the Lyonaise potato sharing plate - the minimum quantity available ( $15 ). I asked with whom I was supposed to share and was told ‘ yourself ‘ ! A bit wasteful, as I had to leave half. Very nice dish though. I elected to have only American wine - a Butterblock Chardonnay ( $16 ) with the first course and two different Pinot Noirs ( $18 & $19 ) with the main. Thes were 6oz glasses, translating as around 175ml each, so about two thirds of a bottle in total. With no pud or coffee, there was only tax ( $13.22 ) and the dreaded NY service charge to consider....I gave $25 which is about $15%. I left the place at 8.00pm having parted with $187.22 or around £150. In conclusion, the food was pretty good – 5 stars for the main and 4 for the starter - but certainly not worth that much and the racket in the background was not acceptable, hence only 3 stars.

Misuse of the Restaurant Week

By Olga B |

When booking a table, I specified that we would be using a restaurant week menu. When we came, the waitress hinted that The Restaurant week menu wasn’t worth it. The meat dishes from both menus weren’t up to par, the cauliflower dish was made of cauliflower well past its prime. The waitress wasn’t able to answer questions about the dishes, and was aggressively hinting for tips;almost jumped into Iphone game my little nephew was playing.

Fabulous Food

By carolesea56 |

We ate here on our last night in NYC. The restaurant is large and was very busy. A bit too dimly lit for my liking. We ordered cocktails and they were brought out with delicious warm bread. The steaks were so large (16 oz) we had to share. The sides are made for sharing and we ordered sour cream potato, brocollina, and lobster mac and cheese. The steak was cooked to perfection and was so tender and tasty and was complimented by the cognac and peppercorn sauce. Could not resist t the NY cheesecake to share. It was exceptional with a crispy top. The prices are quite high but the food is exceptional and so worth it. Would visit again for the experience.

Coming out of its shell

By DadMD |

Don’t let them seat you at the first table as the wind rushes past you every time they open the front door. The restaurant is incredibly noisy, made worse by the “Rat Pack “ music. The service is very slow and that becomes annoying especially when the cocktails don’t arrive until the server is reminded. The lobster special is worth this hassle and the at the table removal of the shell is both entertaining and convenient. The truffle creamed corn comes with a surprise: it’s spicy. Check the bill as inaccuracies could cost you.

NY or HK the steaks are great

By Az0i |

Worldwide reputation for great steaks and NYC is about the best you can get. Unlike a failed visit to another “famous” steak house in Brooklyn, this is a different level

Best Happy Hour "Bar Bites!"

By Frank Sories |

I have come to this location several times over the last few years because it's very dependable and its happy hour food items are exceptional. This was my second visit in the past month and was quite enjoyable. I make it a point to order the filet mignon trio EVERY visit, because it is incredibly delicious, tender and flavorful with tasty sauces. Spouse and I thought we'd try a couple of different things this trip and ordered the crab, spinach, and artichoke dip as well as the Buffalo chicken goujonettes. The former was very tasty, especially considering that I don't really like hot dips in a white base. There was a lot of sweet, fresh crabmeat, but I would have enjoyed more artichoke. The goujonettes were okay but certainly nothing spectacular. They were basically spicy chicken strips with celery, carrots, and blue cheese dressing. Since I'm no fan of chicken strips or tenders (generally too dry) I wouldn't order these again. On our last visit here we had the short rib tacos and crab cake BLTs, both of which we greatly prefer to the two new (to us) items described above. The high rating I assigned is based on our two most recent visits. Our server was very helpful and pleasant, which is generally the case here. We wish this location would offer drink specials as well as food specials during happy hour. Also, the decor seems dark, dated, and a bit tired. It might be time for a refresh. Overall, however, we would recommend Morton's on Fifth Avenue to anyone who is looking for delicious, reasonably priced eats in a very expensive restaurant.

60th birthday celebrations

By karen t |

We visited Morton’s on 7.9.19 for my husbands 60th birthday - not only was the food beautiful it was the small touches that made it special. A menu with 60th birthday at the top, our own booth and also a complimentary sweet with a candle in it. Would high recommend a visit!

Amazing food,Drinks and even better staff

By Mandy5 |

We always visit Morton’s 5th Ave when we come to NY, The food is excellent and their service is exceptional, It was my husbands 50th, they had a printed menu with his name & birth date on it,They very kindly brought him a lovely lemon cheesecake with a candle and to finish a wonderful evening they took a photo of us and gave it to us in a card (The perfect touch for a special occasion) Thank you so much for making our evening so special.

WOW!

By jwong242 |

We stumbled across this steakhouse when looking for our first meal in NY after only landing a few hours ago. This happened to be around the corner from our hotel so it was convenient for us. So glad we decided to give it a go despite the prices on the menu. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable (if i remember rightly, his name was Mike or Mick?! - sorry, I left this review too long) we were totally overwhelmed by the choices of steak so he explained the different cuts and the flavoured rubs and even advised on ordering sides etc as the steak arrived on it's own. We both ordered the scallops to start which was cooked to perfection. My partner had the New York Strip and I ordered the Zabuton steak which has an espresso crust. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I put the first forkful into my mouth but the flavours that steak had was incredible and it was just so tender and juicy. Most certainly the best steak I have ever had! And I'm pretty sure my partner enjoyed his New York strip considering he was completely silent whilst eating. We ordered the lyonnaise potatoes and sauteed spinach and mushrooms to share. Both of which were very tasty! I finished off my meal with a lemon souffle for one which was made to order. That was so light and fluffy, it was worth the wait. But lets not forget the amazing onion loaf we had before our meal even began. Such incredible flavours from this bread, I am salivating at the thought of it. Such an amazing place to eat incredible food. We have come home recommending this place to friends who are planning on going to NY too this year and we will most definitely be coming back to Morton's should we visit NY again in the future!

Not a good Morton’s!

By Jeff |

Terrible service. Steak was cold and flavorless. Staff was rude and dismissive! I’ve been to other Morton’s, but this one is the worst!

Great dinner at Morton's Manhattan

By Alex P |

I am not new to Morton's steakhouse and visited this chain many times in different locations. However the Manhattan mid-town location is always standout as the best of Morton's. Reservations was very easy. I advised them about the birthday we will celebrate there and upon our arrival we got personalized menu with the birthday girl name printed out. The food was delicious. Steak and lobster dinner presented great value but more importantly the taste was great and prepared exactly as requested. We visited during the restaurant week so the restaurant was fully occupied yet was no compromise on the quality of the food. Lastly the service was impeccable from the Manager who brought us vase for the flowers to the waitress who served us. Great job Morton's! We will be back.

Unpleasant

By Judith H |

The service was good, but the food was not. The Rack of Lamb was tough and tasted like mutton, especially as the bones were very big. The filet mignon was very bland tasting and quite tough. The vegetables we had, Brussel sprouts and asparagus were not fresh. We do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Amazing experience!

By travelbug7 |

Had an amazing time at Morton's yesterday's meeting! Went there with a friend, and upon arrival we were asked if we were celebrating anything... We said yes, as I got a new job. Right then I was told we would get complimentary dessert woohoo!!! My friend was moving out of town so that was also our farewell. Anyway, our server was Paul and he was lovely. He took great care of us, recommending great wine and dishes! We had merlot, an order of parmesan fries, I had the NY strip steak and my friend had the mixed plate with scallops wrapped in bacon, shrimp, and I think a fillet mignon. It was delish! Dessert came and it was a lava cake with raspberries and ice cream. Also delish! Paul came over and took a picture of us with his camera and we were both like "who in 2019 still has one of those around???" but guess what, he printed it for us and it became a beautiful memento! We were so surprised and happy! What a nice touch!!! This is definitely a great spot for a meal with loved ones. I absolutely recommend the Morton's!

Best steak in town

By Will Thomas |

This place is the true meaning of fine dining, offering incredible options throughout the menu. Went here for a friends birthday to which they made a big deal of which he enjoyed. Waitress Sarah was knowledgeable about the menu and Morton’s as a company which was impressive. Classy restaurant with great ambience for the upmarket steakhouse. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Magic fillet of beef

By Anna J |

The tastiest meat I've eaten, magically good, perfect fries, nice environment and nice staff, can highly recommend this restaurant, hope to return sometime

Fantastic Service

By Wanna Be World Traveler |

The service was the best part of the meal. The atmosphere was very relaxing and romantic. I would not go unless you plan to spend $75 a person. It was our last night in New York so we figured why not. The scallops melted in your mouth and the fillet was not bad either.

Fantastic steak

By Gayle H |

Dined here twice in 2 weeks !!! Absolutely love the steak it’s not cheap by any standards yet in NY you pay what it costs. Fantastic service great sides deserts good wine ok However they are extremely offended should you not tip them the amount they feel is appropriate !!! Hence we tipped 100 aus for our 500 US bill and was promptly told as we left the resturaunt There goes the Smucks !!! A little offensive but still the food was excellent but beware if you don’t tip right you will be told ...

Nice way to finish a work day

By Robin S |

I come to NYC 2 or 3 times a year for business. This is one of my favorites places for dinner George is the bar tender who has been there for years. He is the real deal. He is attentive and fun Big steaks and great drinks served by a professional bar tender. Life is good.

Upscale but not posh!

By Julie T |

Walked in off the street as we passed earlier on the way from our hotel and thought it looked nice. There was something on the menu that we all liked. We received a very warm welcome. A nice buzzing atmosphere and very pleasant staff. My daughter had the rack of lamb and ate the lot, she said they were delicious. I had the salmon, it was moist, tender, beautiful flavour. We were advised not to over order the sides and I’m glad we didn’t as they’re such good portions. We couldn’t all manage a dessert which is a shame as they sounded devine. Good service and spotlessly clean toilets! Will definitely go back on our next trip.

Don’t waste your time

By JAE100993 |

Terrible! Had a reservation for 10:00PM. Restaurant called to confirm day prior. We arrived at 10:06 to a locked door. Called restaurant and was put on hold. Called from another phone while still on hold. Manager said “Yeah, We’re closed”. Said he came out at 10:05 and didn’t see us so he closed. Staff and diners looked looked they were enjoying their experience. We were still on hold while “manager” said “ Yeah, we’re closed”. walked away deflated but found a great place next door. Words to live by “ When at Morton’s on 5Th, walk one door over!

Surprise yourself and have a fantastic time!

By Steven D |

I wanted something special for my 65th Birthday celebration and Morton’s provided it with aplomb! The art deco surroundings were amazing the Staff were exceptional in every way. Plenty of space both around and on the table. Plenty of time to enjoy the whole experience. Food was top quality and I had a birthday surprise for sweet. A most wonderful time was had by my wife and I, one I will never forget!

Good food and service for a high price

By George1133 |

Fine place to dine and discuss business. Very smooth service already at the beginning. Despite it is a steakhouse, the offering still gives you some seafood choices. I took shrimp coctail (perfect) and filet mignon (very nicely done... maybe slightly overdone on top..). Wine selection is splendid. You can get good wine also per glass. The price "Manhattan high".

Meat

By Fabrizio M |

Elegant place with tablecloths and napkins. They had prepared a table for us on the upper floor, seeing a disabled person, they immediately prepared a table for us on the ground floor. Compliments. Unforgettable fillet. The rest yes. Very high price but probably normal for the area.

Nothing Special

By Salmon Pink |

Evening meal here, expecting something special – it is a Steak House after all. We both had steak it was none too fast in being served and as good as one might expect elsewhere. But the thing that sticks in the memory the longest is not the cost; which was high even for Manhattan, but the light level! It was not romantic, it was not atmospheric, it was VERY dark. If the food is good enough to serve; then surely it’s good enough to eat. Turn the damn lights on. All in all: average.

OK service, OK food, overpriced

By BusyBizTraveler |

The food was OK, steaks came overcooked - they were not burnt but significantly overcooked for our order of Medium. The waiter tried to convince us to keep the steaks regardless and we agreed as we did not want to make a big fuss. I did not expect the waiter to even try to push back on that. We did get a couple of sides as entrees come without any sides (for a $60 entree I feel that including at least one side dish would make sense). The bottom line was that the food was not bad and so was the service. However, for the price paid, I expect more

The worst

By Mychelle G |

I had worst on 5th Avenue they made my son take his hoodie off and his dad and other people came in and they didn’t tell them to there’s off I’m upset

Just a quick visit

By Andy L |

Popped in with our son but only had drinks . The barman was very helpful and the drinks were excellent. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I didn’t eat there. But with the great service I’m sure the food would of been great to receive the full 5 stars . Would I go again ? Of course but next time I would eat the steak and lobster.

Intriguing

By robertQ4369AI |

Was always curious about this spot - but never visited until I got two gift certificates recently. On my most recent visit - I was seated promptly at a quiet table in the corner. Water and a large loaf of bread arrived. Waiter came by to explain the menu - it was lunch - and take my wine order. I had the filet mignon sandwich - lettuce and tomato on the side. it came with French fries - although I thought the menu said chips - no matter. Found the restaurant was very pleasant and busy. Yes - maybe for some it is a bit pricey and more so than other steakhouses - but with a gift certificate it was no problem.

Perfect 50th Birthday!

By kerrycorcoran |

My favorite restaurant of all time is Morton’s. My wife surprised me with dinner at Morton’s for my 50th. She and the entire staff went above and beyond. They had printed menus for my birthday. Carlos was our waiter and he made sure we felt special. Attached is the menu and a photo of the food. My wife said working with the staff to prepare the menu was easy. The team worked with her and followed up afterwards. I cannot wait for my next big birthday to come back.

Did not disappoint!

By BOSTONTravler |

We ate here on a previous trip and had a great meal so we had high expectations going in and were not disappointed. Dinner started with loaf of warm bread and butter. We had filet and hash browns and also the filet and lobster special. The special was basically the same price as a regular steak so being able to surf and turf was a treat. For dessert we had the warm hot chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It was awesome. The server almost seemed to want to talk us out of ordering because we waited until the end of our meal and it takes 20-30 minutes. We were happy to let our food digest before eating it so we were happy to wait. Dinner was not cheap but worth the splurge.

Great Steak before ranger game

By Summersnuggles |

Great dinner with Steve Chris and Brian. We came to Morton’s before the Ranger game. Had the wedge salad and New York strip cooked perfectly. Steve had the sea bass which again was cooked to perfection. The boys also had steaks. Brian also had a slab of bacon and Chris a Caesar salad. Great night before a excellent game.

Impeccable service

By Adrienne C |

My mom and I came here for drinks and light bites one day during the summer after work. Over a month later, our bartender remembered us and exactly what we ordered! It was incredible and made us feel so special. We came here for my boyfriend’s birthday in September, and Morton’s dazzled us with a handwritten birthday card including a picture the server took of us during dinner. What a beautiful memory and such a wonderful way to commemorate the special day. In NYC, I have not found many other places with as great of service as Morton’s.

Disappointing

By Theresa P |

Of all the places (casual to fine) at which we ate in NYC, this was the most disappointing. The service and setting were lovely, but most of our food was not. Steaks cooked incorrectly (I'm talking way off here), and poor cuts, but what really got me was a baked potato that was terrible - how do you get that wrong? We so wanted this to be a special evening, but we left feeling let down.

You eat what you pay, I love it.

By b922311 |

The dinner was excellent, I like the Morton's steak house. We had a great time, I dinner with my wife. Service is excellent and the beef is great. It is a little noise, but you are in NY.

Great bar!

By addietaf |

Stopped in for a quick drink with a friend. Good bar atmosphere and friendly bartenders. The shrimp cocktail was fantastic but also very pricey! Be prepared to pay!

Top steak and amazing service

By Boozzard |

Absolutely excellent service and food to match. Started with a lobster dish to share and finished with the porter house steak to share some fries and mushrooms with spinach. All dishes were really great.

Amazing experience

By Nikolaj Marcus |

The food is absolutely amazing, they have flawless customer service, and it is very reasonably priced. Very happy

Wonderful dinner

By DBC084 |

Amazing dinner and overall experience. The service was wonderful and couldn't be faulted. Overall, it all felt like a real taste of New York dining. The steak was one of the best I've had and we loved the sides too. The portions are enormous compared to what we are used to. Would really recommend for an evening dinner.

Get the shrimp cocktail

By 742mesar |

Shrimp cocktail was delicious, and the steaks are good too Service could have been better, but make sure you're around good company and to help pass the time.

Excellent food and service!

By Sabrina |

The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic! We will definitely go back next time we are in NYC!

Another excellent Mortons

By C7677 |

I could not go to New York without going to the local Morton`s, this one I am glad to say maintains their high standards. I chose the Five Onion soup as the starter the cheese crust on top was a little too much for my taste. The main the Salmon was just right, as I am told the steak was. However, the highlight was the Cheesecake I think Ultimate Cheesecake sums it up.

Great steak, a little pricey but well worth it.

Visited with my brother and a couple of friends on a trip to New York, after a couple of days of cafes, diners and generally snacks, it was great to finally have a proper meal. As mentioned, it is a little pricier, but the service was excellent, the Prime Ribeye was a great size, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. My brother opted for the Bone in Ribeye, and was disappointed it seemed to have a lot more fat that he found acceptable - but then he's a bit picky about steak - his was promptly removed form the bill, and he was offered another meal or a drink for the inconvenience - 1st class service from the manager at the time, they really couldn't have done enough. Certainly recommend Mortons for a special occasion, or if you're tired of burgers, reubens, gyros, bagels etc. etc....

A fine venue for a black tie dinner

By John L |

I’m a member of a venerable group dating back to the 1930s which has an annual black tie dinner. We’ve normally held them in recent decades in Clubs (Yale Club, Harvard Club etc) but this last dinner we decided to be daring and try Mortons. It was a stellar success! Mortons provided a nice private room, and the food, service and ambiance were EXCELLENT. In fact in was such a success that we promptly booked our 2025 dinner at Mortons again Personal note: my filet mignon was delicious.

Amazing Friendsgiving experience

From the atmosphere, location services and food it is amazing . The drinks were amazing and food was glorious . Best steaks in town . This place is def high end . Mike who is one of the managers was amazing with us and our family. He treated us amazing and attended to all details and our needs . I recommend this place highly to anyone . Delightful

By ivorykeys28 |

We booked a reservation here not knowing what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by not only the quality of the food, but the attitude and service from the entire front of the house staff. First of all, we were a party of 5 adults and a toddler under 2, and never once did we feel awkward for having our toddler doing the normal "toddler" things, considering this was not a Chuck E Cheese type of dining place. Even though we had a reservation, they has no room in the central dining area, so they placed us in private dining which was a plus for our little guy! Everyone was genuinely friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable. That sometimes makes the whole dining experience worth the effort. All of our food was plated lovely, and very delicious. No complaints. Service was also prompt, even though we were in a separate dining area and we didn't have to wait on anything. The bill was reasonable and came very timely after our meal. I loved the whole experience and would reccomend this place to others if you are in NYC.

Wow!, best meat, and I am not even a meat lover

By BEUGGIE |

The only thing I can compain about this restaurant, is that is really really dark, I mean with a beautiful sunshine outside, you enter into a cave, but, the service is outstanding, and the food wow I had the crabcake, which was delicious, and then the 7oz wayu filet mignon. It is the first filet mignon that has taste

Morton's - Atmosphere of an Outback Steakhouse with Prices of a 3 Star Michelin Restaurant

By SwissPinkPanther |

My review title sums up to a " T " my overall impression of the Morton's Steakhouse in NYC. To start, for my overseas readers who may not have an Outback Steakhouse chain... think of a middle to lower price range, chain of restaurants that specializes in beef ... and when you enter you feel like they are feeding all of humanity. Please, don't get me wrong there are times and places for eating at restaurant chains like Outback given the value that many of them offer. But given Mortons exorbitant prices, I expect more. One recent evening my two friends and I entered Mortons to enjoy a steak dinner. The restaurant was selected by a friend who had frequented the Mortons in Georgetown/ DC back in the 1990's.. She may have been hoping for a similar dining experience as to the one from years gone bye. By dinners end you could see how wrong and disappointed she was. Granted, if you are traveling from overseas , from a country where quality beef is hard to come by, I can totally understand why you might want to eat at Mortons. Yes, Mortons filet mignon is delicious. But again, be aware, that dining at Morton's is lacking in value. When I review a hotel or restaurant and give it a rating, its not only the food or lodging I'm rating but I'm also rating what you are getting for your money. You cant fairly compare a room at a 5 star hotel costing $500/ night with a 1 star lodging at $70/night unless you take into consideration value. As my friends and I entered Mortons I was amazed at the chaos at the front "desk". Where I thought there would be a maitre d calmly standing and over seeing the operation, instead, we found three people running around frantic. None of whom even noticed that we were standing there. There were two other groups of people also waiting. After about 5 minutes I did get the attention of one individual who apologized and said there was a problem with their reservation system and that it would take awhile before being seated. As I stood there scanning the restaurant I thought to myself...this was a BIG mistake. Maybe it was my fault to expect a more elegant dining experience. My guests and I were there to celebrate a special occasion so we were all dressed rather elegantly jackets, ties , cocktail dress..... it appeared we were the only ones. I don't recall seeing a single jacket or tie anywhere. Again, I know.... Mortons is a chain steakhouse. But again, given the prices that Mortons charges and given that they are a few steps from NYC's 5th Ave, I would have thought they would have had a minimum dress code to reflect their premium pricing.. Then there is Morton's decor and cleanliness As other reviewers have stated, the interior of Morton s looks tired and in some places just shabby. At the entrance to the restaurant, scattered on the carpet were 5 pieces of scrap paper... so noticeable that I wondered why they were not picked up. This does not make for a good impression when you are about to sit down for what you hope would be fine dining. When it came time to be seated, nobody asked if we wanted our coats to be taken. Consequently, they were placed onto chairs adjacent to where we were seated. In making our reservation, our request for a booth and not a table was overlooked. All the booths were occupied and so we were seated at a table for six despite being only three. We felt as though we were sitting having a dinner at home in which half the family did not show up. The tables were set nicely, fresh linens and nice cutlery and glasses. When looking around at the staff rushing all over, one got the feeling that Mortons was understaffed. Although VERY courteous, it was rare that our waitress anticipated our needs nor the timing when food was to arrive. My sense was she was juggling way too many other tables. Throughout the meal we constantly had to look for her to make a request. And not once during dinnerl did she ask how we were enjoying our meal and was there anything she could do for us. Again, when we did interact with her she was very courteous so her lack of attention to our table I felt was due more to her being overworked. That's not her fault, but as Morton's guests we still paid the price, both literally and figuratively. So ....lets now get to a review of the food. Here are a few of the items ordered along with their star ( * ) ratings and prices. Some of the prices I did not recall. drinks - martinis - 2 * / ? $ glasses inadequately chilled 1/2 the vodka in the glass was displaced by 3 large olives appetizers jumbo shrimp cocktail - 5* / $26. three of the largest shrimp i've ever seen, and tasty too !! colossal crabmeat cocktail - 2* / $22 four pieces of crabmeat the size of half your thumb definitely very good but so little for the price entrees mixed grill - 4 * /. $59 -- 6 oz filet mignon .. the size of a lemon ... was very good 5* -- 2 bacon wrapped sea scallops - the bacon made the scallops taste overly salty - 2* -- 2 average size shrimps with average taste - 2 * side dishes - one side dish can serve three people sautéed broccoli. 3* / $15 -- nothing special sour cream mashed potatoes 2*/ $15 -- lumpy and too heavy desert souffle - 4* / ? $ -- good but not memorable As you will note, there were food items that are very good like the filet mignon and jumbo shrimp. Hopefully, this is to be expected when you go to a steakhouse that also prides itself on their shell fish. but the remainder of the meal was average or below average at best. With average to below average portions and PREMIUM prices. The bill including tip and tax exceeded $150 / person !!! Note - there was no wine served . At these prices I expected MUCH more from Mortons. Again, maybe I had too high an expectation going in , expecting a far a more refined dining experience as it relates to the service, decor and cleanliness. There is not much you can do in terms of how people are dressed unless you implement a minimum dress code. But to walk out paying a bill of over $450, for a meal that was just average, is definitely not going to get Mortons more than a 2 star Trip Advisor rating from this reviewer. The over all value of the Morton's dining experience is just poor. I

Very beautiful and formal location, suitable clothing and reservation recommended. Very good meat and attentive service as well as the dishes. I recommend this place for a dinner not for every day but more for a special event.

Okay Sandwich

By M T |

Was in the city and decided to pop in at Morton’s Steak House since we were right near the restaurant. I order the Filet Mignon Tenderloin Sandwich. It was okay the meat was tender but lacked flavor. Barely tasted the horseradish cheddar on the bun. It wasn’t salty so that’s a good thing. The string fries were not hot but they did have a crunch to them. Also, comes with a iceberg lettuce and a tomato on the side. Sooo wanted a stellar savory filet Mignon sandwich but it didn’t happen. They do give you a tasty round loaf of onion bread that came out nice and warm. Sat in the bar area since we didn’t have a reservation. Overall, I wouldn’t go back for the sandwich but for the amazing steaks that were passing by and the soup!

I can’t say enough good things, everything was perfect. A little pricy but we expected that. Also, we didn’t have a reservation but they seated us anyway.

Always really good meat

Classic dinner with salad, steak and side dishes. The steak here is always excellent, very tender and really tasty. The location is modern and elegant and the service is also excellent.

Does Not Welcome People of Color - Avoid!

By 5startraveler |

My family and I dined here last night and was immediately scrutinized by the hostess from questioning my husband dress slacks claiming she could not tell if they were sweats (as if the two have any similarity) to viewing our legitimate vaccination cards. I kindly reminded her that we are very clear on the dress code as we are frequent eaters of the establishment in other cities. We were then placed at a table pressed up again a pillar which was not pleasant. Then to top it off our older white female server happily greeted her non-minority patrons and half heartedly serviced us. She even offered to take pictures of other guests with their phones and wished them a happy holiday while simply placing our $200 bill on the table and said "thank you." I reported this behavior to the dual managers who claimed that such would be addressed though I doubt such. We chose not to leave gratuity as a result of her behavior but instead left a note for her to treat all guests the same. Do not eat here if you are of color as this location does not believe in equal treatment for all!!

Elegant stake house. Ask to have moderate salt

By Lugiord |

Quite elegant restaurant with excellent service. Just too crowded and noisy to be perfect. Great meat, but all dishes were a bit too salty.

Made to feel extra special for our anniversary dinner!

By Obese1Kenobi |

This is the second time we've visited Morton's on 5th and they didn't disappoint! Fantastic service and a very high standard of food. We were there to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful evening being spoilt by Morton's going so far as to personalise our menus and provide a photograph of us enjoying the dinner! The price of this restaurant is not for the fainthearted but let's be fair, you don't get quality like this unless you pay for it. We will be back next time we are in the Big Apple and I will be highly recommending the restaurant to our friends that visit. Thanks again Morton's.

Beautiful

By Queanishere |

The staff were welcoming and helpful with explaining the extensive menu. Though I am not a steak eater they had more then enough options for seafood. The seafood was cooked to perfection. The portions were enough for four. The food and service was the best that evening. The garlic bread was a highlight as I like bread a whole lot. If your in the area make reservations to experience a superb dining experience.

Terrible experience

By Joseph A |

Had 5 o’clock reservations at Morton’s midtown Manhattan on Saturday December 10th , with my wife and 2 children, we walked in and instead of being greeted with a friendly smile , the hostess looks at me and says yeah what ? Not hello or welcome but (yeah) , then proceeds to sit us at a table directly behind the main entrance with a makeshift wall setup, worst seating possible, we had to ask to have our table moved , we did get a better table, upstairs and things seemed to get better, we ordered and it went down hill from there , I ordered a New York strip Medium rare came out well done , my daughter ordered petite filet medium well , came out rare , my other daughter had shrimp, it never came out at all had to complain about that , needless to say that I’m extremely disappointed and would never go back to a Morton’s again , what a terrible experience, you go to a restaurant like that and are paying somewhere around $400 to $500 dollars for service and food only to be disappointed 👎👎👎👎👎

Wonderful steakhouse

By MGPowell |

My favourite steak chain in the US didn't dissapoint. We arrived right at the end of the service but they were happy to accommodate us without a booking. My wife has some quite severe allergies (Dairy, Canola etc) and they were very accommodating, preparing one of the best steaks she has ever tasted. Mine standard tip-eye was also cooked to perfection, without too much butter (a complaint I have with many steak restaurants in the US). We had a lovely Napa Cabernet recommended by the waiter from the extensive wine list. Overall a memorable meal.

Really excellent food

Really nice decor and atmosphere and great food. Not cheap but excellent quality , steak was one of the best. Staff were very helpful as well

CLASSLESS + FALSE ADVERTISEMENT= TACKY AS HELL

By Princess B |

Made a reservation for myself and 3 other girlfriends for a Friday night to go eat here during restaurant week that’s taking place 11/01/21 - 11/14/21. I found it really disgustingly unprofessional when the restaurant called me the day of my reservation to “confirm” and tell me they will not be participating in restaurant week that weekend because they are “too busy” to accommodate “that crowd”. This left me baffled and confused because what 5 star restaurant does this? Talk about classless! Who advertises and participate in something to then turn around and be selective to which dates and times they wish to participate. Why participate at all then? It was very tacky of them and that is considered false advertisement. I feel like they should never be allowed to participate again. And what “crowd” can’t you “accommodate”? The crowd that can’t afford your regular rates so this is their only opportunity to eat at your upscale restaurant ? And then you go and snatch the opportunity you agreed to give them away? And how are you “too busy” ? What is the difference from serving them and the ones playing regular price? Is there a different method in the way you serve? Does it require more energy or time? I would really like to know because I found this to be INSANE!

Good experience

Group of 13 people and the host did very well. Everyone good was still hot and drinks was on point. The Mac and cheese was the only thing I would not recommend.

Fresh Food, Good Service and Stylish Look

We spent a wonderful evening at the Private Dinning Room. The food was top level. We tried the special selection of red wines and the Prime Portnerhouse steak. It was perfectly cooked and served with an attitude.

Visited from the UK. Lovely experience. Really made a fuss of me when I mentioned it was my birthday. Great food. Great service. Thankyou Morton’s

Wonderful for a special occasion.

By Esther M |

Visited for dinner on my husband's 50th birthday. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The bill was substantial but I felt it was warranted. Service was impeccable and the food absolutely delicious. The scallop starter and salmon main were particularly good. They even gave my husband a complimentary desert and a photo to remember the occasion.

Good, not great steaks and the sides need to improve

By CLEWOOD |

I ate here twice recently. Service was great the first night and extremely slow the second night. No amount of prompting could get dinner in motion for our group on the second visit - everyone was asking for more bread bc the server was slow in coming back to take our order for the group. On the first night, the starters were good, but my ribeye was a bit chewy in spots. The sides weren’t great - tired and not inspiring. My filet was much better on the second night, but the sides still were disappointing. The sides in general seem generic and typical steak house fare vs. something that’s unique to make Morton’s different. All in, good but not top tier.

Fast food

By lara g |

Great steak! but went for a nice meal while on a break, was not asked if we would like any sauces with our steaks, was very rushed drinks starter and dinner within an hour. No time to digest between courses. We were asked about dessert while still eating main. We chose not to opt for dessert and our bill was on table ! we would have however liked a coffee but this was not offered. Good steak but would not go back or recommend.

Excellent “Restaurant Week” lunch

By Skeeter013 |

My son and I stopped at Morton’s for a quick lunch recently during Restaurant Week. It’s been several years since I’ve been to the location in midtown Manhattan. I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant and it was just the way that I remembered it. We both opted for the Morton’s salad and prime ribeye. As expected, the steak was perfectly cooked and the portion was definitely big enough for lunch. It was the ideal meal after returning from an overseas trip. Since it was Restaurant Week, the value of the meal was exceptional. I’m already looking forward to my next trip back to NYC so that I can head straight to Morton’s.

Good food but expensive

By Dawn H |

My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday at Morton's. The restaurant is very contemporary. It offers tables, booths and private rooms. The menu offers many choices. I had filet mignon which was amazing. My husband had filet oscar style. He liked his too. The sides were sharable. Despite the great menu and atmosphere, it was pretty expensive. They brought us molten chocolate cake which was great, and was free. They had menu's with our names on it and took a picture which they gave us to take with. We enjoyed our experience.

Amazing service

Server Sara and Manager Jasmin gave us incredible service. We enjoyed all food and staff. Well done!

Great steaks in a touristy restaurant

By JamesJoseph |

My Wife attended here in early December in the midst of the holiday tourist rush on a Friday night - so probably not the best night to attend. I started with a Manhattan which was sub par and watery. The food is unimaginative but solid and good, we both started with Maine Lobster cocktail and Crab Meat cocktails both good quality product and portions were generous. For our main courses I had the NY Strip steak perfectly cooked with au pouive sauce which was very good, and my wife had the Miso marinated Sea Bass also well prepared but again very basic. We finished with the Gran Marnier Soufflé which my wife thought was very good. Service was uninspired and what I would expect from a touristy restaurant. I would recommend with the caveats mentioned above. But YES A Great Steak for sure!!!

Overpriced & underwhelming!

By Hodman2015 |

Pretentious, overpriced poor service restaurant. Steak seriously undercooked…waiter advised, no apology! Only a vague offer to put back in the kitchen. Jacket potato like a stone, literally! All at extortionate costs! Avoid, better options for your money elsewhere in NY!

Business Dinner Meeting

By BillREvans |

Our group of 20 had our own room for a private dinner. May have finished off the “Stag Leap” Cab on hand that night..... it was a steak and filet dinner and the general feeling after a dinner like that was a great reminder of what it is like to have a good piece of beef. Sides of green beans and potatoes were fine. As expected, service was perfect!

Best Steak house in Manhattan

By Paul |

The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was perfectly prepared and presented beautifully. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. Best steak I've ever had! The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable. It was a special birthday occasion for myself. They decorated the table tastefully with an added touch of a celebratory personalised birthday card. They topped it off by presenting us with a photo with my birthday dessert. If you enjoy fine dining, and you love your steak, this is definitely the place to visit.

No kids menu

By MEG |

We love Morton's and most upscale steak houses. Our waiter was fabulous and put in our order quickly so we could get to our show on time later in the evening. I have a picky 10 year old and I was surprised there was no kid's menu. We managed with broccoli and mac and cheese, but it would have been nice to have smaller portions available for children so the parents can enjoy their meal and not have to stress over what kids will eat. We were pleasantly surprised to be there during restaurant week so it was a great deal for $42/person for a full meal for adults. Steak was cooked perfectly. I prefer the Reston, VA location b/c of more choices/flexibility, but the NYC restaurant was nice as well.

Perfect service.

Great service, tasty food and friendly people. While waking around the 5th Avenue of New York we had a lunch break and had one of the best Japanese Wagyu. Perfectly cooked and served.

Exceptional Service & Food

By Lucy R |

We had an exceptional experience during our evening with Morton’s. Dinner was excellent, with everything cooked to perfection. The service we received was the best I have ever had with extra attention given to the birthday and graduation members of our group, all receiving personalised menus and desserts on the house. I cannot recommend it enough and while pricey it was worth every penny. The pictures presented to the group was a lovely touch too!!

Great food, terrible service

By barbara l |

The quality of the food was excellent, both meat and fish. Unfortunately the service was terrible and disorganised, with the extremely hasty waiter, who placed the menus on the plates, who forgot to bring the bread, who served the water in front of his face, certainly not appropriate service for a restaurant of that level.

Pricey but tasty

By Leonardo Tamburi |

I am a meat lover, and Morton The Steakhouse makes you love meat even more. It is a high-end restaurant, but I think it is one of the best you can find in Manhattan. I have also been to the Chicago one and it was pretty good too. In New York the location was nice and well furnished. Service was great, waiters very polite and fast. Pretty tasty food: very good starters (I ate Wagyu meetballs), and very steak (I ate Tomahawk). About the price, I have to tell it straight: it is pricy (in four we spent more than $400), but every cent is worth the experience, because actually it has not been a dinner, but an amazing and tasteful experience!

Great place, great staff and exceptional food.

By sc0tn0r |

Chose this restaurant for our last night meal while in New York and we weren’t disappointed. As soon as we entered we received a warm welcome. Our table was ready but as we were early we chose to have a drink at the bar. After our drink we were shown to our table and who I believe to be the manager Sergei came over and introduced himself then took a picture of us. A little later he appeared with the photo in a little frame for us as a memory of our visit. Our waiter was Elvin who was very attentive and knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. We both chose shrimp cocktail for starters. The prawns were huge very fresh and tasty. We then chose fillet mignon with my other half having crab and asparagus sauce with hers. We shared lyonnaise potatoes and charred sprouts with bacon as sides. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately we had no room for a dessert as were both full. When we are back in New York we’ll definitely be visiting again. Many thanks to Sergei, Elvin and the rest of the staff for making the evening such an unforgettable experience.

Great meal

Good service and food. The waiter knew the menu and was able to help Only gave 4 stars as it was so expensive but we should have checked the menu before going in

Perfect Engagement Dinner

By hsr612 |

My partner and I had just got engaged and we had no dinner plans so our hotel suggested Morton’s, when we got there they said they were full but after hearing of our engagement they managed to squeeze us in and I’m so glad they did. When we got to the table they had printed out a special engagement menu which was such a lovely touch. The food was out of this World and service was fantastic. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had! They even took a photo of us and printed it out to keep, the little touches made it for me.

Fine dining at it's best

By Tpetersengardine910 |

So in love with this restaurant, from the staff, atmosphere and food. Such a great place for family and date nights.

Great food, overall love it

By Jie L |

We had friends visited here few years ago, finally we made it. I ordered the rib eye and my sister order lobster tail, the food is great. the service is soso, when I ask what is the different between ribey and bone in ribeye besides the bone. her answer is totally the same... which i think it is ridiculous... also we had some problem when we did the payment. Like the food, but not the service.

Fabulous birthday location

We celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday here. The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to make it a special occasion. Added to which the food was amazing! 100% would recommend

Good food, bad service

By neilhd |

We ate here as a party of 8. We chose it over other steakhouses based mainly on proximity to our hotel and because of reputation and reviews. Let's get the food addressed first: The food was good. It's not the best steak I've ever had, but it was very good. The creamed spinach was truly excellent. There was nothing to complain about here, except it is a little pricey. I've had better steaks in other NYC restaurants for less money, but I'm not complaining. I knew the prices before I went in and was happy to pay it. The service though, left something to be desired. We arrived on-time for our booking. Due to 2 people pulling out last minute (taking us from 10 to 8 people) they decided to move us to a different table. We were left standing in the lobby, next to the cold doors, for 20 minutes whilst they did this. No offer of a drink at the bar, no apology. Not what you expect when you're going to be spending over $1000 on dinner... There was no need to move us. The place was only half-full, and all the tables were set anyway. We nearly left at this point. Then our server took drinks orders. Except he only took them from half the group and then disappeared for 10 minutes, returning with those drinks, and then took drinks orders from the rest of the group. That's just odd. The food took an hour to come. The excuse given was that one or two of the steaks were ordered well-done, and this took longer. This is a poor excuse as this should have added about 6 minutes, tops. And when it came my wife's well-done steak was definitely not well-done anyway. So for these reasons, I would not return, and would not recommend it to anyone else as there are other options available.

Night out with our son

By diane071708 |

We had the chance to go to Morton’s for dinner and it was great. The food was great and the service was perfect. A little pricey which did not bother us but my son felt it to be a little much. If you are looking for good food nice atmosphere this is a good choice.

Great service - go Jordan!

By Oliver H |

A last minute choice but great ambience with an intimate setting. Food was great too!! But special shoutout to our waitress Jordan who went out of her way to make us feel welcome! She carries herself impeccably and her high levels of service are shown with every customer. As non New Yorkers she even took the time to give us some recommendations for our stay!! We hope to see you soon! Thank you

Would highly recommend

The food was beautifully presented and tasty, whilst the staff were very polite. The ambience is wonderful. Would make a really good option for those who are looking for a high quality steak.

Morton's is one of my favorite steakhouses. They not only have the best meats but their whole presentation and service is unparalleled! They has a very extensive wine list and you will finish your dinner off with a desert that will leave your mouth watering for more! I highly recommend! Tell them Brady Bunte sent you.

Perfection

By 92SP1967 |

Without doubt the best steakhouse chain in the US. Fabulous meat, brilliant wine list, succulent fries and mashed potatoes, quality service and for my wife's birthday, always nice touches. The price is high but not more expensive than in this type of restaurant. A little favorite is the Cajun ribeye, and the glass of Grigrio wine. Just perfect.

An Amazing Pork Chop

By NevskyNY |

A lovely, refined restaurant with great service and food. A great way to start here is with the excellent bread loaf, but leave room for the large portions of meat (or fish) to come. There are many nice choices of appetizers and salads to start with. Now for the meat. Besides some excellent beef choices, do not miss the superb 16 oz. Pork Chop, but order it medium rare to enjoy its delicious juices. This is one of the best Pork Chops anywhere. There are so many sides to choose from, it is hard to go wrong. I recently had the Sautéed Broccoli Florets and "Twice Baked" Au Gratin Potatoes, which are excellent sides, and I am not normally a fan of au gratin. Save room for one of the excellent desserts, including the Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake. Service is professional and friendly.

Great Food!

Wonderful steak restaurant, the food highlight of our holiday. Service was excellent, steaks melted in the mouth and the side dishes were lovely.

Great steak well served in an elegant location

By John L |

I belong to a 90+ year old Sherlockian group which meets annually for a black tie dinner dinner and to deliver scholarly papers. Although for decades we’ve meet in a private rooms in clubs, recently they’ve developed an exaggerated idea of the value of their services. So in 2024 we tried the private room at Mortons and the result exceeding our expectations and evn our hopes. The food was terrific, and service that rare but delightful mixture of competent, attentive and unobtrusive. We of course went back for this year’s meeting and have already scheduled 2026’s I have had both the filet mignon [A++] and the ribeye, with appropriate ‘sides’, preprandials and wine. Even if you don’t want to wear black tie and give a scholarly papers on Victorian England, the place was full of happy, nicely dressed diners and I’d go back in, as teh cliché has it, a “New York minute.

Excellent option....

Excellent steakhouse located on 5th Avenue. Very nice environment.... Careful and pleasant service... Excellent meat and escorts. Great wine list, including by glass. Prices within the expected.

Very nice and elegant restaurant with great service and excellent steak. Have been to different locations without disappointment. Servers always knowledgeable, efficient, and attentive! Will come back soon.

Great food, prices not bad

The Morton's staff is very genial. The food is good. Go for the $59 Christmas special of Filet and Lobster. Worth the money

A little overpriced steak-house

By GavazziAldo |

We arrived late in New York and were staying a couple of blocks away. We found this restaurant and decided to give it a go. Lovely hostess which guided us to our table. Typical steak house ambiance. We had the lobster ravioli and the bacon steak as entrée. Definitely recommend the ravioli, however the bacon steak was a little too chewy. We both had the Ribeye as main. The meat was okay, but not that tasty. For over $60 a dish, no side were offered. We had to get some French fries on the side. Waiter kept coming every 2/3 mn asking if everything was okay (felt a bit pushy for a tip). Overall, the experience was okay, however for around $150 per person, the dinner felt a little mediocre…

Anniversary

By pennylocks |

Food was delicious, we had the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella cheese as an appetizer. Then the lobster bisque soup, we had the mixed grill with Filet Mignon, 2 shrimp, and two bacon wrapped scallops, for dessert we had the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Everything was great. Steak cooked to perfection. We were greeted by Gina, Leonard, and Jessie. Our server was Matt and he was amazing. The entire staff was great. We were celebrating our anniversary.

Fantastic service

By Edible Moments |

We visited on our last night in NYC after a recommendation from a friend who lives in the city. The evening started badly as my girlfriend had made the reservation for the following night by mistake! The place was packed and all they could suggest was to grab a table in the bar area. They could see we were visibly frustrated with our own mistake and managed to conjure up a table without us even pushing for it. The genuine care to try and save our evening was really appreciated and showed a touch of class. This is a real locals joint and the atmosphere (despite rather loud), was buzzing. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable and the managers are always milling around ensuring everything is ticking along nicely. The menu is amazing! Lots of things we hadn’t heard of before as Brits! The sides were amazing, baked potato was Devine and truffle fries really tasty. Asparagus the size of cucumbers were also impressive. Unfortunately both our steaks were over done but didn’t matter too much as they were still really tasty and the hospitality made up for it. The ladies on the front desk were really helpful and sympathetic to our mistake and were the catalyst for a really enjoyable evening. All the staff from front of house to servers and bar staff were really friendly.

So welcoming

By Retha |

Wow! We certainly did not look the part for this after a hot and sweaty day of walking in New York. The staff were so reassuring and welcoming. My feeling was that every person we came into contact with cared deeply about our experience - and cared for the place! What a work culture there must be a privilege for the whole staff to work together so cohesively. We thank you so much for tonight’s experience. The fillet was melt in the mouth delicious. Thank you once again each and every person who worked tonight at Morton’s.

Steaks and more

By bcheong |

A famous steakhouse chain also found in some asian cities. We usually go for the tuna tower and crab cake to start. Then the lobster bisque. For mains, of course the steaks. And the christopher chicken. The chocoate cake dessert is very good. The chocolate mousse only ok

Didn’t eat the cake AnnaMae!!

By ColeyCole37 |

My husband and i stopped here before The Tina Turner Musical. Dinner was great everyone was attentive. We were trying to decide on dessert. I wanted carrot cake but hubby wanted chocolate. The waitress fixed it so we could have both. She bagged them up and told us most people took it with them to eat after the show. Got to the theatre and they made us throw it away because they don’t allow food. We were heart broken. I REALLY wanted the carrot cake. Otherwise everything was great!!

Good steak house in the financial district

By Heliosalima |

I start saying that I probably did not get the full experience of the restaurante because it was in a late lunch and this is clearly a dinner restaurant, but hey, it was like a private restaurant 😃 The place looks nice and the Staff is kind. They have very good wine menu by the glass or by bottle and because we were on vacations and not driving we went for the bottle that on that day almost every wines were in promotion but still super expensive compare to the market where I live. The wine is served in a quality glass to improve the experience. The meat was perfectly done like all the rest that came with the meat. The desert look like a piece for 4, it was huge. At the end this place had all together to have a 5 stars

excellent choice in NY for meat

By Ramon G |

second time in this restaurant and maintains an excellent standard. Good, well-cooked meat. There's only one handicap, their prices. Very good wine list

Over priced and not all that nice

By Kim P |

Food was not all that nice and very over priced. The staff were lovely. We had much nicer food else where. Visited on our first night didn't and wouldn't return again.

Good but not Great

By millracer |

Does not have the classic feel of a NYC Steakhouse like Keens or Gallagher’s except for the noise level. Lacks a cool bar as well. Steaks are good—other menu items not so much—but everything is overpriced (well over $100 a head with only one drink, one side, no appetizer and no dessert).

Amazing steak cooked to perfection

By DutchDiverFrank |

Well the previous reviews weren’t lying. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the filet and 3 sides to 2 and it was the perfect amount. The steak was cooked to perfection. Really great steak house on Midtown with a filet at $60 before adding sides for indication of prices. Not the cheapest but great quality.

Morton’s is a fantastic restaurant.

By James B |

Morton’s is a fantastic restaurant. The food and service are exceptional with a very knowledgable staff on hand to offer their advice on what’s on the substantial menu. The food is served exactly how it’s ordered and cooked to perfection. It’s a very worth while venue to visit and although not the cheapest restaurant in town it’s certainly one of the best.

Best Steak in NYC FOR SURE

By Katey L |

Had dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse last night & it was really beyond what I had expected. From the minute I walked in the door until we left, everything was perfect. The food & service were exceptional & very professional. What a great experience. From the crab meat cocktail to the filets, to the sides, I was in awe. This was not where we usually go for steaks but this beat most of the ones, including The Palm. Our server was wonderful; actually everyone was. The ladies at the front were so friendly & we were seated within 5 minutes after arriving. Our reservation was at 7:30. No one rushed us......the cocktails were big & delicious to boot. Our Cabernet was out of this world. Great place for the holidays ❗️

Restaurant week

By nene_7 |

The food was really good. The service was good. The steak was delicious. The desert melts in your mouth. I really enjoy the drink. It was nice experience especially for restaurant week. I was shocked the next day the Manager of the restaurant called me to ask if everything was good with the service. Super Cool!!!!!

It's worth getting ripped off

By Il Castigatore |

Very attractive place for location and service. Clearly the highlight is the meat which is of great quality. Excellent wine cellar. The staff is courteous and if you don't speak English they don't put you in difficulty but on the contrary they work hard to make you understand. Price quality adequate for the city however really expensive! But once in a lifetime if you like..😜😜😜

All hail Wilma at Washington Street !

By nauj63 |

In the shadow of the Freedom Tower and aside all the other attractions located at the site of the old World Trade Centre, this restaurant cuts the mustard. If it’s a good steak you’re after, then the chain of ‘Morton’s’ delivers in a casually clean & stylish dining environment. Food quality is great. Taste is delicious ( the sautéed sprouts were particularly satisfying ). Portions are big ( don’t think about ordering a ‘side’ dish each ! ). Prices are ( relatively speaking ) ‘toppy’. And service generally is excellent - but ‘Wilma’ specifically, take a bow ! She’s chatty, ‘on it’ and full of positive energy !

Good food and great service

By malhos02 |

Ratings for food on most sites are pretty accurate. The steak was good but not great. One peas overlooked. The hash browns were also god but salt was less. Thr cream spinach and chocolate lava desert were outstanding. The bread pudding was bad. The best part was the aervice which was attentive and friendly.

You get what u pay for is the title of my review. I had an amazing dinner, very friendly waiter, delicious food and cocktails. Expensive? Yes but totally worth indulging

Excellent but VERY expensive

By Lynda I |

High end restaurant. Matt, our server was excellent! Our meals were excellent. I don't care for the a la carte style ordering. Although the food was very good, we don't feel that any steak is truly worth 50$!

Fantastic, yum yum

By wil |

Peter, the GM, and his team are fantastic. The service, food, and ambiance are always on point when visiting. Appreciate their attention to detail each time. Strongly recommend, you won't be disappointed. Shout out to Destiny, who took care of us on our most recent visit.

Chain restaurant - it’s a good standard

By StephenCross |

Even the smallest steak is too big. Food is very tasty but you pay for it. Service was good. Felt it lacked ambiance. Might return.

Best Steak Ever

By HayleyClare |

This was our third visit and we didn’t think it could top the previous visits. The meal was outstanding, best meal I have ever had. Steak cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing. It is expensive but it’s worth it.

Best restaurant in NYC!

By MeganCWill123 |

We went to Morton’s on the final evening of our honeymoon in NYC. We couldn’t have chosen a better restaurant, it was fantastic. The staff were very attentive but not too intrusive and nothing was a bother. The food was incredible!! They made our final evening so special. We would recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially for a special occasion.

Great service and food

By kwkirbo |

We’ve been to many Morton’s in the USA and Puerto Rico. All have been consistent. This one was the best in terms of friendliness of staff. We were visited by 3 asst. managers. Our waiter and asst waiter were right on it. Food was excellent as well.

Disappointing

By robertobenfenati |

Dear NewYorkers if this place is amazing for you, then you clearly need some lessons in taste, presentation and restaurant manners. My wedding day, I’m there alone with my new wife and we are using a prix fixe menu (300$) donated by friends, normally I prefer to choose a la carte but that was ok with me. The main (a filet mignon) wasn’t bad but it was served when my wife was still half way through her starter. When pointed out, the waitress said “oh that’s fine, you can finish it” (!!!) When my wife asked if she could have mixed sides “oh no, the menu allows only one choice!” Oh my gawd, she asked for 6 green beens, how inappropriate! The menu doesn’t include drinks (fair enough) but tea, coffee, soda… I discovered that apparently an espresso is not coffee because it was billed almost $6 and that the water on the table (acqua panna from Italy) that was poured in our glasses was a “drink” (10 dollars plus tax!). The menu also included gratuity but at the end our waitress was very disappointed and she insisted twice saying that was only 15% and only on the food, not on drinks. When I said that it my opinion that was fair for what received she turned her back on us. In details: the Caesar Salad was below average, the filet was good, the dessert average. But definitely overpriced and overrated.

Fabulous Steakhouse with Great Ambiance

By Layla |

Took friends to Morton's for a special occasion this week and had a fabulous time. Food, ambiance, and service exceeded all expectations. Every item was prepared exactly as ordered and the steaks were the best I've had after eating at almost all Manhattan steakhouses. They were tender and extremely flavorful. Matt, our waiter, was exceptional. He answered all our questions and never rushed us to place an order. He routinely checked on how everything was without being intrusive. I just wish all waiters provided the same experience. I'll be requesting him when I go back in two weeks to host another dinner. The ambiance is elegant without being stuffy, and the tables were nicely spaced, allowing you to easily converse with other guests at the table. A totally wonderful evening in all regards from start to finish.
