I enjoyed the pasta.

By o7oBaseMetal |

I was walking through Manhattan and came across this place, it was around lunchtime so I stopped in. The inside looked like it was straight out of a movie; turned out it was in several movies and television shows. I had a delicious pasta dish with peas and prosciutto- I cannot remember the name of it but it was an alfredo sauce and I recommend trying it. Prices were reasonable for the area.

Good lunch

By Jonathan P |

Good solid food. Pizza was good as was the Calamari. I would like to go back and have a drink at the bar one evening. The place appears to have lots of history.

Movie location spotters will love this spot! And you'll also eat well!

By Brian T |

What a curious little spot, tucked away amongst a plethora of restaurants and cafes on Mulberry Street in the heart of Little Italy. We chose it for a light lunch purely on its menu, and the fact that it wasn’t too busy. We had no prior knowledge of its salubrious history and it’s association with some well-known movies and celebrities. The dining room looks as if it’s not changed one iota for decades. And that’s a good thing without a doubt, as it’s been around for a long time, about some 100 years apparently, and to change would be a bit of a crime. It’s long been the darling of locals, tourists and movie location scouts. The almost shabby decor and rickety tables actually adds to the charm and ambiance of this place. Our party of 5 loved it, and we had a great light lunch here. We were seated promptly, and looked after well by a reasonably efficient waitress. As expected, the lunch menu items are largely Italian offerings, from paninis, pasta dishes, pizzas and more substantial offerings. Our order included: a Pizza Margherita, the Spaghetti and Meatballs, a Chicken Parma Hero, and a Mulberry Burger. It wasn’t 5 star haute cuisine by any means, nor did we expect that! It’s reasonably priced, fresh Italian offerings. All our were more than satisfactory. Apparently Frank Sinatra loved to hang out here. And movie location aficionados will love the list of movies the restaurant has appeared (or been a backdrop) in. The list will probably be on your table, and includes well-known movies such as 'Godfather III' (Al Pacino), 'Night and the City' (Robert DeNiro), and 'Donnie Brasco' (also Al Pacino, with Johnny Depp). We enjoyed our lunch and the overall restaurant experience, and will probably return on our next visit to New York City. It’s in the heart of Little Italy, at 176 Mulberry Street.

Great place to grab a drink

By Sarah T |

My friend and I stopped here while in Little Italy to get a drink. It is very small but the bar is old and authentic. The prices were reasonable and the bartender was very friendly. There are pictures all over the wall from when Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and other famous people spent time in the bar. We didn't each here but the menu looked good if you were wanting to catch a quick bite.

Wonderfull day,fantastic trip,wonderfull guide,very memorable 90 minnutesstable

Excellent service, wonderfull food and what a great location., gentleman behind the bar gave us all the history of the bar If you are in little Italy in New York this place is a must go to.loved it.

Great atmosphere! Good value pizzas.

By elcat b |

We were walking round Chinatown/little Italy starving hungry, and we were intrigued by this lively bar/restaurant! They squeezed us in at the back of the restaurant in front of the pizza ovens. The menu is what you'd expect, but the portions are huge and great value. We came here on a Sunday evening and it was packed! I'd probably go back but maybe just for drinks as the atmosphere was more of what you'd expect of a pub/bar.

Good quality food

By Sally2464 |

We called into this restaurant whilst en route back to our hotel. There were seven of us, four adults and three children. Service was just ok but the food was above average. Great pizza, stromboli and meatballs. No children's menu so it ramped the cost up paying adult prices for them....then again it was our decision to eat there & we knew the situation before we ordered. Would have probably been more enjoyable as a group of adults.

Couldn't get service

By greycats |

On busy Mulberry street one would think that fierce competition would make for good service. I was attracted to this joint by its checkered tablecloths. We approached and were told to sit anywhere. We chose a table outside near the door. Someone brought menus and flatware. We sat for ten minutes watching people who sat after us ordering and receiving drinks while no waitstaff approached our table despite my several attempts to catch someone's eye. We got up and left, walked half a block and enjoyed a delicious meal at a competitor's establishment.

Seemed authentic

By MikeT6128DF |

Enjoyed a couple of beers here on what appeared to be a very old bar that has not been taken over by tourism in the very popular Little Italy. It had a lot of charm with not particularly friendly staff but that's part of the charm. Go enjoy a couple of beers or a pizza in the real Little Italy.

Food was good. Service was awful!!

By Jennifer S |

There are so many other places to choose from. Pick another. Food was ok, but no bread or salad was included with pasta dishes. Our waiter was truly the worst.

Just a great place to stop!

By Tina D |

Another famous establishment in the city! Ask the staff to tell you some stories! I actually have not yet eaten there (will next time) but loved to stop in for a beer or two!

An interesting little place -would like to come and try again at a different time of day

By shalovesny |

We ate one night in Little Italy and this bar was a couple of doors up from the restaurant and we had passed it earlier in the day and had seen that Sam Smith had filmed his video her for "like I can" so curiosity got the better of us and we decided to have a nightcap or two here at the end of our evening. It was very quiet (we may have been their last customers that day) - but it was good to see inside the place and watch the video later - there is a framed pic inside of Sam Smith and the proprietor and cast - my friend loves him and bought a t shirt from the bar.

Great bar in Little Italy

By Rokerman73 |

Had to revisit this great little bar as we had been here a couple of years ago. It was this bar that made us avid watchers of the Sopranos. The main reason for this visit was it is a good place for meeting the locals also the meals and drinks are great value. I can recommend the Frankie Cee which is a meatball pizza. The bar is full of photos of movie and tv celebrities and the décor is nostalgic even down to the brown pressed tin walls. We ate late one evening which was great but we had to return the day we flew home for one last drink and ended up eating there again. The Mulberry Street Bar is not upmarket but it is classic "Little Italy".

Fugazi

By Westyjase |

Ok, Little Italy - or what’s left of it - is a tourist trap. However, the Mulberry St Bar is still well worth a visit, especially if you are a movie fan or wannabe Wise Guy. We called in for a couple of beers and enjoyed our time there. It was quiet and relaxing but with a bit of atmosphere. Staff were all friendly.

Great Experience!

By Mark F |

Six of us ate here for lunch - ordered mostly pizza and one ravioli. Everyone was quite pleased with the meal. Pizzas were excellent, with a near-perfect crust, and the ravioli was outstanding. The service was very good and the beer was cold. We would all go back the next time we're in Little Italy.

Beer, Pizza, People Watching!

By Mark A. |

The bar was packed with people, but it did not take long to get a couple beers, Went outside under their curbside canopy. Great place to watch people on Mulberry Street and have a beer. The Bar was serving pizza outdoors by the slice to street customers. After a half hour of smelling pizza and watching folks gobble it down, I finally caved in and had a slice of pepperoni. It was delicious.

LITTLE ITALYS FINEST !

By JOSEPH T |

Oldest italian bar probably in the country where hundreds of Movies Commercials and tv shows were filmed consecutively open for over 117 years in Little Italy NYC A MUST VISIT

A great bar full of character.

By Leigh K |

I have been coming back to this bar for over 18 years, it has got busier but when I walk in here its like seeing an old friend. The food and beers ( craft ! ) have actually improved. Be prepared for old Mulberry street vibe, not a posh restaurant but a pleasure to visit. See you soon.

Ok visit - not what I expected

By menkat |

Excited for a day in the city we stopped at Mulberry St (popular due to movies filmed here). It was ok. Nothing special. Pizza was like I would get anywhere back in CT. Portions seemed small too. I prob wouldn’t go back. Also if you go check your bill - they charged us for 3 pizzas we got 2.

Late night Drink in Little Italy

By Phill |

Dropped in after dinner in La Mela with some friends for some drinks i new about the history of this place as they filmed Donnie Brasco and the sopranos here it is such a old fashioned bar with lots of history and character and a must see if on Mulberry street

A few beers on a Sunday night

By KatzFBA |

We didn't eat so this reviews just the bar side, which was brilłiant, a true NYC experience, even down to a vocal, very Sopranoish, spat twixt owner and gorgeous barmaid. Great jukebox, cheap draft Peroni and wonderful friendly staff. It's been used as a location in countless A-movies too.

Pub in Little Italy??

By dawnchugg |

Stopped in for a quick bite and a beer. Small, quaint pub in Little Italy. Service was great, food was good, atmosphere was ok? Expected a little more "Little Italy", more like an Irish pub with checkered table cloths and an Italian food selection menu. Also pizza! We had penne ala vodka , pollo dittas ( chicken fingers) and a Italian sausage sub. Everything was great except the sub, but that may have been an expectation thing.

Really great food in Little Italy

By JinxieCLT |

We loved our lunch at Mulberry Street Bar! Wonderful ambiance, decent service (my water glass never went dry on a hot day!), and delicious food. I had a calzone and my husband had a pizza and both were fantastic. I loved the small salad that came with my calzone -- gave me the impression of being healthier! There are great old pictures all over the walls of famous people dining at the bar. I wanted to know the story of the scruffy deer head on the wall, topped with sailor hats. Our server didn't know anything about it, so if anyone does, let me know. Very intriguing!

It was ok...

By Msanne123 |

Chicken parm was good, eggplant was so so and burger was over cooked. It was freezing out and inside the restaurant was maybe 55 degrees! Which made us want to just get out of there. Service was good. Prices average. Though check out all the restaurants on that same block. It's the slow season and I wish we went to one of the others on the block that offered free wine or sangria. Most of them did.

Best bar in little Italy

By sightseersccott |

The was one of the highlights of my trip to New York . It was karaoke night and everyone that sang should have been on Broadway. It was welcoming and everyone was very hospitable .

Saturday Night Karaoke!

By kall29 |

We stumbled upon Mulberry Street Bar after we had dinner in Little Italy and what a great find it was! I wanted to watch a NBA playoff game and it was on! Great little space with a great bar and wonderful staff. Little did we know that karaoke started at 9:30 PM that night. That made the night even better! So much fun! I'd love to stop by again next time I am in NYC and looking for a cozy bar with great people. By reading other reviews, it seems the food is great too. Next time!

Home of some of the greatest Mafia scenes from films and to.

By Simon S |

Great Bar and Pizzeria in Little Italy, great range of beers and cocktails, the Pizzas are superb, this place oozes atmosphere and has been featured in many a film and TV show. If you love those gangster films and movies then this street and bar is a great place to come.

Karaoke night!!!

By alantebundleofhope |

Wanted to find a bar close to our hotel and stumbled upon this!! At first, service was extremely slow but staff made sure to apologize and offered us a few drinks on the house for our inconvenience. Extremely nice and friendly!!! Karaoke was such a blast and you could tell many of the locals were regulars who loved this bar. Would definitely recommend it and would go back next time we visit he city.

Such a shame...

By bigfishkayla |

It had such a great atmosphere and food that was all ruined by our terrible waiter! He barely checked on us, the 'suggested tip' was taken off my card without giving me a chance to give what tip I wanted. Which in turn was a 20% tip that he definitely did not deserve. Then he rushed us out of the restraunt because more people came in even though we were not finished our drinks. He was very rude and ruined our time there. He was tall, tanned, bald and had glasses on. Everyone else was nice.

Really good pizza

By Julie N |

Went there tonight and had a margarita pizza with my boyfriend (the upgraded one with buffalo mozzarella). It was delicious! Very relaxed athmosphere and friendly service. I was here years ago and as soon as I recognized the restaurant I urged my boyfriend in, definetly worth it!

Meh

By Tink0707 |

We were looking for a bar. Thought this was a bar. More a restaurant. I know everyone is short staffed but it was rough. We ordered one round & an hour later had to hunt someone down to pay. My lemoncello martini was terrible. But my friends specialty cocktail was very good. Wouldn’t go back.

The world famous Mulberry Street bar

By Jason Oliver |

The scene from many episodes of the Sopranos, Donnie Brasco, The Pope of Greenwich Village and many more , must visit in Little Italy when you're in NYC.

Drinks were not nice

By KiwiReviewr |

Can't comment on the food, but the beer and wine simply were not nice. The local brew was decidedly average and the well known H beer just wasn't right. Plastic cups that blew off the table in the breeze didn't help of course. No wine list available. 'Pinot Grigio' was a 2 out of 10. Service was good, but we go to a bar for the beer and wine. Sorry but, cannot recommend this place.

Fantastic Place!

By Jennifer S |

We had a fantastic meal and some wine! Our pizza was the classic pizza pepperoni and a Frankie C's. So good. That wasn't even the best part! Family owner, Camille, sat with us after and gave us the entire movie and tv history along with the important historical details behind the white apron and the paintings on the wall. Epic. Highly recommend!

Great food average service

By KiwigirlBrisbane |

Had lunch here and the food was really nice. Staff and service was average. We paid by credit card for the meal and left tip in cash which worked well for us with a travel card. They didn't seem to like that and didn't even want to know us after we paid. Lucky the food was good quality and authentic and nice atmosphere at least.

Good Lunch - 3.5 rating

By mamat122963 |

Stopped here after our Mafia tour at the recommendation of our tour guide. We were seated immediately. We ordered a caesar salad (overdressed) and a margharita pizza with sausage. The margharita pizza was delicious but skip the sausage, it was bland and added nothing. Service was good but I had tap water to drink. It was served in about a 6 oz size disposable plastic cup. I had about 7 glasses (it was hot out) and was always looking for our waiter to get a refill. Why not leave a pitcher at the table or serve water in a larger glass?

Movie, television film location

By Barbandjerronthego |

Stopped in after a Dreams of New York tour. Seated quickly with good service. Great house salad and average burger. Choices for gluten/dairy free were limited. Terrible bottled iced tea. Go for the history, not the food.

Absolutely delicious (and huge) pizza!

By Nik Secrett |

Noticed it whilst walking through little italy around lunch time and decided to go back at dinner time, very glad we did as the prices weren't as high as other places but still delivered an exceptionally good pizza; just what we needed after a long day of walking around NYC

Trip to Little Italy

Excellent Italian food and atmosphere. Ask for Camille; she'll tell you all about the history of the bar which was used for many movies and TV shows. She has pictures to prove it.

I got extremely sick after

By krzy j |

I got extremely sick after eating their Caesar salad, dressing was “off”. The guy making pizza was not wearing a mask!!! If you want coronavirus this is the place to go. The Icing on the cake was the owner, he was completely erratic and unstable. We were so shocked, he was absolutely insane. This guy is Dangerous and unstable. He attacked kids in parking lot then tried to steal a child’s bike and put it in his “pod” in the parking lot. Police don’t do anything about this guy many wonder how much he “donates” to them.

Good bar

Nice bar visited it one afternoon while in little Italy in NYC great beer good atmosphere good service would go back 👍🍻

Deja Vu

By SkylineSuzy |

Recently visited NYC with a group of friends and were separated from the group. Checked this place out through the window and saw some amazing pizzas. Managed to snag two seats at the bar just as a couple were putting in their coats. Ordered a tap beer and took a look at the menu and realized we'd been there the last time in the city. Immediately ordered the pizza and it ROCKS!! Bartender Stephanie has been there eight years and knows her stuff. Even plugged my dead phone in to recharge so we could reconnect with our friends.

watch out for the 18% gratuity automatically added to bill

By Rwie15 |

great pizza but was surprised to have an 18% gratuity automatically added to my bill. We have never encountered this before when eating out as we arent a large party (Family of 4, myself, my partner, baby and a toddler. For the service we received 18% was generous and I wish I had questioned it being added to our bill without any mention. This seemed a bit off and we wouldn't return for this reason.

Fried, fried, and fried again.

By Finiky |

Decided to give this restaurant a try since I had one hour before my flight. I had the fried shrimp and french fries both of which were over cooked. When I inquired with the waiter about how deeply fried and dark they were, he said that’s how they cook them. Quite disturbing. I had a Stella beer which was fine. My colleague had a Caesar salad with chicken which she was satisfied with. I would not give the shrimp another go. No accommodation was offered for my dissatisfaction.

Lovely lunch

By ScottyDK |

A nice place to stop. Had great pizzas and homemade pasta. Sat outside and enjoyed the sun and food! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very poor service

By Russell H |

This place was recommended in my NY guide book and I also love the film DonnieBrasco. Called in for dinner, Saturday evening. Frankly appalled by the service, or lack of. In England we don't tip at all if service is this bad. Really annoyed I was forced to tip 16.5% for a guy who couldn't even be bothered to speak, let alone a please or thank you. In my book, if you hate your job, you leave. I've never ever experienced a waiter who hasn't uttered a word to me. On top the pizzas were below average. $55 dollars for 2 small pizzas, 2 drinks and surly service? Come on. Never again!

Soooooo good

By Pattyanne716 |

Very accomodating staff. There were six of us and we had to wait a maximun of 5 minutes for table. All of our food was so good. Two had spagetti and meatballs, it was really great. two had fettucinni alfredo and the loved it. Two little ones had chicken fingers and they ate them all up. Cant wait to go back.

Great place!

By Andrew T |

This bar was the most fun. Fantastic bar staff, friendly atmosphere and the best pizza we had in NYC. Beer was good and a friendly locals definitely coming back.

Good pizza!

By mdleast |

Popped in for a quick bite to eat. The pizza was excellent! Not deep pan like i'd expected but I was happy about this. Tomato sauce was superb. Good selection of drinks too. The service was average but I can get over that to be honest. Worth a look

What a way to watch the Packer/Giant Game!

By Richard D |

My wife and I went to Little Italy for the atmosphere ... which we did get; but in addition we had the pleasure of sitting at the bar, sharing a perfect pizza along with several Peroni beers as the Packers defeated the Giants in the Wild Card game. The Giant fans were cordial though disappointed and all gave us hearty congratulations and best wishes on kicking the *&$#$!! our of the Dallas Cowboys!

Food was average and service appalling.

By ESKE1974_14 |

This was a real disappointment. Despite the claims, this failed to live up to our expectations. The food was ok, cottage fries turned out to be frozen pre-made store bought ones that tasted disgusting once fried up. The Pizza looked good and the ravioli was nice. The staff were generally disinterested and not particularly helpful. The menu stated that parties of 5 would be charged a compulsorily 18% gratuity but we were only a party of 4 and we were charged this anyway. Then at the end we were charged 2x for our meal. When we queried this they tried to dismiss it and it was only when we pushed that they'd made this mistake that they voided the transaction and ran it again. This time they actually included the tip which we thought was just rude under the circumstances. These 3 transactions are still showing in our bank account with no sign of a refund. We've contacted our back so will see what happens next!! This meal was def not worth the $200 its cost us so far. Really tainted our day out in Little Italy to be honest.

Fun Pub Interior, Very slow food service

By honoluluK |

Visited after reading very good Yelp reviews Visited on a weekend afternoon I have been here twice Both times: it was fast service to be seated fast drink/bar service very slow food service Typical Pub interior Medium clean We ordered quickly food was basic & OK But there were many tables waiting 30mins++ for burgers

Nice Little Bar in Little Italy

By Scott W |

We visited this bar multiple times while on vacation. It was right down the street from our hotel. We didn't eat the food. The bartender Larry was great!! Great conversation, and answered our questions about different things around the city. We spent a couple hours here each night at the end of our day. This bar has a lot of character and some pretty cool history. The sight of several movies and tv shows. Thank you for the hospitality Larry!

Good pizza that’s about it

By Victoria P |

This place is ok - I was expecting more since it was so highly rated but it didn’t deliver. The service was slow - our food took much longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn’t busy. The pizzas however were amazing when they arrived. I wasn’t overly impressed with the music choice (Rick) which was played too loudly. Price wise - average. Place Could do with a bit of TLC.

Pizza and beer

By Surf1973 |

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat as we had had a huge lunch we decided on a large pizza to share between us all. We sat outside as the bar was very busy and warm, after about 15mins our drinks and food order was taken and the wait began 20 minutes later the staff brought us some cutlery but no drinks so we had to ask for them. When they arrived one cola was totally flat but this was sorted very quickly. The pizza arrived shortly after and I have to say was a very nice pizza. Food was very good service was lousy at best, and then they want a tip !!

Fun area

By Caprice W |

The area is fun and hopping. The staff is very nice, good service. The food was good but won't knock your socks off. If sitting at a table, they don't ask about drinks outside of the few they list on the menu. I did like it. Gnocchi was too heavy.

Great food and service

an offer you should refuse

By Martin S |

Went there with my family , as my brother is a die-hard Godfather fan (the rest of us have seen and liked some or all of the sequels) Even though, that was the prime reason of our visit, we have not remembered the scene that was supposed to happen here, and my brother (the expert on the subject) was also not "fanboyed" all over the place as expected, additionally there are no photos , nor some cool memorabilia inside either...so looking back, thats exactly when we should have left (or maybe waste time with a beer here at most), as the "things to see" are SO EXTEREMELY MINOR in the ocean of must-sees that NYC has to offer otherwise. Unfortunetely -despite having 3 amazing authentic pasta places recommendations- we have still decided to eat here, as the tables outside were available (alarm bell two...on a beatufiul sunny afternoon, 2PM, free chairs outside...yepp, thats exactly how "good" they cook here) So we been served painfully under avrage pizzas, overcooked pasta and utterly unispired salads, courtesy of an absolute piece of work waiter from Cuba (only 10.000 miles west from Italy) The food quality was typical road-side diner level, Italians would NEVER cook like this, they would die of shame serving food that was prepared with so little interest and skill. The pizza dough was way too salty , and used some budget flour (so it tasted more like "google dough" than the secret dough recipe that you would not get out of the guy at gun-point , made with real caputo double zero flour, that is only shipped directly from Italy) The pasta my mom was having, I will not comment on, her only comment was also to politely first offer some to the kids and then put the cutlery down. Overcooked garbage. It was the 6 of us, non of the plates were finished (despite all being rather hungry) , the bill was over 250 bucks (in fact nearing more towards 300 with the service charges added. Talking of service charges, the worst part about it all was really the service. The guy just hated customers and his life so obviously that he should not have been allowed to report for work on that day (or ever). Numerous things were wrongly noted and not noted at all during ordering. To my father's question "which beers are on the tap" he said "what you can read there" still ended up serving him a bottled. We put up with the wrongly served ones, and asked about those that never arrived, he went in to sort it out...however, as we sampled the first bites and realized that we are not eating good italian food at all, my brother just ran back to tell him ,the items he forget to order , can be left out after all....the guy said, well now its too late, now the kitchen started to prepare them....the WORST PART OF IT: after a bill of this volume when we asked if we could get a cab, he literaly laughed, "' we dont do that, you see that big road? go out there and get one there" That really rubbed me and my brother the wrong way so told my parents and my brother's kids to go ahead and went in to see the maanger. Turns out, they are not trained in cooking or serving, but handle situations like this very well, the girl at the bar was the "manager"..i guess when you want to complaint about her, the cuban guy will be the manager...very smart. She just basically got loud and told us the ever so classic "if you dont like it, dont eat here".... thats right. as the fake fame that this place manage to enjoy, due to some minor scene of an old movie that was meant to be shot here, they will have enough fools to keep them afloat, they dont need returning customers, and so they make absolutely sure they dont have any either. spare your money and time. we had better pizza than this at any other occasions during our time in NYC.

Great food and an even better atmosphere

By Sally A |

Camille aka Carmella aka Grumpy aka Gloria. This lady simply IS Mulberry Street Bar. We cannot praise this fabulous little restaurant and bar enough. Spotted it on trusty Tripadvisor and stumbled in for what we thought would be an Okay place for some lunch right in Little Italy. Instantly hit it off with the lady of the house and ordered some garlic 'knots', spaghetti with meatballs with a carafe of house white. All were superb especially the spaghetti!!! The atmosphere is good, bustling but not loud or brash. Clearly seem to have regulars who I guess pop in for a drink and neighbourhood catch up? So, Camille comes to say hi and we start talking about the history of the restaurant and the area..... Camille is a one stop wonder, she gave us more info in 15 minute than any guide book or walking tour could ever give. She made us scream with laughter over funny anecdotes and stories of her and her family over the years and the celebrities that have either eaten here or the films, music videos and crews that have taken place here. All that said, the place is totally without any pomp and is so down to earth. Just great eats in a super friendly setting. We then get to meet Eddie, the very charming husband of our new best friend Camille. Eddie regales us with stories of their dating and other great stories. All of this is done after we have eaten and are very ready to relax with them. Nothing was too much trouble and there seemed to be every nationality eating and having fun. It's not a big place so maybe safer to book if it's a weekend or evening? One thing is totally for sure, we can completely recommend this great Italian bar & restaurant and if you get lucky enough to meet the great lady herself (and the utterly charming Eddie) then please say hi from Sally & Graham from the UK.

DINNER IN LITTLE ITALY

By Graeme291 |

My wife and I had called at the Mulberry Street Bar for a drink during the early afternoon while out walking in Chinatown and Little Italy in NYC. Service and atmosphere seemed fine. The restaurant/bar looked good for food as well so we decided to come back in the evening from our hotel on West 50th Street that evening. A huge mistake. It took somewhere in the region of 15/20 minutes to actually be offered a drink after we were given the menus and were actively considering leaving to find another diner. We should have done. Our drinks order was prompt forgotten about. Starters were Garlic knots and fried cheese ravioli. Both were pretty average and lacked imagination flavour. We hoped for better main courses. Our drinks order eventually arrived meantime which they got wrong - we'd asked for a carafe of white wine and a red was served up. That got returned and came back correct. Our main choices were penne a la vodka and spaghetti meatballs. We've both travelled to Italy before and enjoy Italian food and were looking forward to this albeit with an American slant. My wife's penne vodka looked and tasted like Kraft Original Cheesy pasta for anyone that's had that. Average didn't hold it and was nothing like anything we'd had before. The spaghetti meatballs which I'd looked forward to trying were equally disappointing and very average. A taste of Italy? Definitely not. Gordon Ramsay would not be happy at the offerings here. Best advice is go further up the street if you want something special. It spoiled our last night in New York.

Slice of history

By Michael B |

We stopped here around 2pm on a Saturday for a quick bite. The tin ceilings and walls, old wooden bar and open, airy feel was great. Service was friendly although not particularly quick. We got a pitcher of sangria which was delicious. The meatballs and ricotta appetizer was also awesome. We ordered a small pizza which we liked but didn’t find memorable. I found myself lusting after the pasta the guy next to me had.

Awesome bar. Old school

Love this place. Sweetheart from Brooklyn works there and we always look forward to seeing her when we come to NYC. Good cold beers and spirits. Fun times

Cute little italian place

By Frida |

We went to this place and found out that sam smith had filmed a music video there, also such a cute little place. But we waited really long for the food and it really wasn´t that special. I ordered rigatoni with broccoli and it was really good when i added a bunch of spices and parmesan. would like to go back but only because of nostalgia probably.

Authentic Italian/American

By 911prentonpark |

We were keen to experience a proper Little Italy cafe/bar and stumbled into here mainly by accident and because it looked different from the more formal restaurants around it. What a good choice. Great choice of American craft beers and really good pizza. We ordered one large and one small between three of us and it was more than enough. Service was good - not over the top and we really enjoyed sitting inside and watching the scene. Hadn't realised until I read some of the other reviews here that the bar had featured in several films and videos. It's certainly very unspoiled

Very Good Pizza

By Mike S |

We decided to try an Italian dinner in New York's "Little Italy" and walked upon an attractive little Pizzeria. Bottom line is we were served really good Brick Oven pizza and also had excellent side salads.

Great Place!

By Mr_Maranello |

Iconic place to stop for a drink or a snack. Cool setting with a lot of pictures from the movies that have been shot here. Wiseguy bar.. great experience

Great place to have a beer

By Benny |

Stopped here a few times during our visit to NYC. The Barman/owner was a great guy, really polite and helpful and the draft beers were great. The whole feel of the bar was very nostalgic because of the amount of films that the bar has been in. Had the pizza served from the outside area during the festival and it tasted great. A must stop off whilst your in mulberry street.

Real history here in Little Itay

By paulbe39 |

A wonderful friendly bar, chance to relax in Little Italy, good selection of beers and many many famous films were filmed here. Well worth taking time to pop in.

Good atmosphere and history

By mrscatalano |

The staff were friendly, the beer choice was great and place was oozing with atmosphere and history from all the movies filmed there BUT the food menu was basic and mostly carbs/fried food. The salad I ate was the worst I have ever had, leaves were moldy, and fennel and orange were not dressed and also a bit tired. Overall would definitely go again for the great location and vibe.

Little Italy Treat

By SoozClues |

Came to this restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews. Did not disappoint. We were promptly seated for dinner. Service is NY-style "efficient". We enjoyed the pizza, calzone, and stromboli. The garlic knots were delish.

Would not visit again

By OJS3 |

First it was a Friday evening, visited with 2 other folks and all 3 of our orders were brought out to us wrong. orders grilled chicken Caesar salad, got my salad no chicken. My cousin also ordered the same and he received a garden salad no chicken. Other order was chicken wings, no sauce plain not even ranch. Pointed all of this to waiter, he said he didn't recall being asked for chicken. Never bothered to correct the mistake, walked off and never returned to even refill water glasses, let alone take our drink orders. Asked hostess for a manager, she informed me no manager was available. What establishment does not have s manage, let alone one on site during a weekend, holiday weekend at that!!

Great Atmosphere

By stephen0654 |

Popped in for a drink one evening whilst waiting for our table in the next-door restaurant to be ready and was immediately taken by the interior. Now either a top designer was paid a lot of money to achieve the look of an interior that hasn't changed for 50 years or it hasn't changed for 50 years, whichever it is I loved it, so much so I went back the next day, Thanksgiving, for lunch which was fine. Great bar as well with an extensive choice of beers.

Exciting spot to eat and watch

By jocraigau |

Two good meals here on our stay near by. Hit the spot. Great people watching. Ripper calzone with an nice house red. The daughter loved her pizza.

Worth a visit

By Traveler04813285782 |

Recently, I've had to come to New York somewhat frequently. I came across this place as it was close to my hotel. The food and service has not once disappointed. Vivian, the manager, is attentive and welcoming. She made sure my experience was what I had hoped it to be, and it was. This can be said for the entire staff. I will certainly be returning.

Old School Charm

By UNION_THUG_ALWAYS |

What a great place. Good food, good bar, good service and historic in its own right. It is a piece of NYC movie and TV history. I love it

Excellent flavour and value

By CalDrijver |

The pizzas are delicious, the staff helpful and friendly, great atmosphere and very fair pricing. Definitely recommend. Thank you.

Some of the BEST pizza I've ever had - & a great atmosphere

By scoeyd |

We walked all of Little Italy looking for good pizza... & found that we could have just stopped right by the entrance at The Mulberry Street Bar/Pizzeria. No high pressure pitchman out front, just an authentic experience that reminded my wife & I of Rome (not fancy, but simple & straightforward). We ordered a couple pizzas - the Frankie Cee Meatball & a Margherita. Top notch food - really loved both of them. Wanted to have some wine with dinner & chose the carafe of red wine ($24) & got 6 glasses of wine out of it for the 4 of us. Really good value, esp. for NYC. If/when I return to New York, one of my first stops will be the Mulberry Street Bar for some of the very BEST pizza I've ever had the privilege of eating.

You must try the pizza!

By Mic104 |

We took a day trip to NYC and used the Greyline Hop On/Off bus for site seeing. We stopped at the Chinatown stop and then walked to Little Italy for lunch. We were looking for a place with enough room for our group and one that served pizza. We lucked out and found Mulberry Street bar. The service was great. They were busy but were able to seat us quickly. We had adults and teens in our group and although it's a "bar" it was fine for lunch and had the appeal of a great little neighborhood restaurant. My only "complaint" is that they have ruined me for all other pizza. Now that I've had their Quattro Formaggo pizza nothing else will compare. It was honestly the best pizza I have ever had. I recommend you stop here to eat if you're in the area. I hope to I'll get a chance to go back.

Friendly little bar in heart of little italy

By dmdlvr |

Seemed like a local hang out bar, friendly staff and regular patrons but when the bar is full you have to self serve, waiter was only serving those with food orders

We look forward to going back to the Mulberry Street Bar,

By Mary M |

The Mulberry Street Bar offers delicious pizza parlor fare, good service and an interesting history. We visited there on a cold and rainy winter day and found a warm and cozy atmosphere with helpful waitstaff, friendly customers, and walls lined with photos of celebrity visitors. We ordered pasta fagioli soup, chicken fingers and fries, and pizza. The food was terrific and and the prices reasonable for New York City (2 people, food, 2 sodas, and 2 beers $46.00) This place has been in business for over 100 years for good reason. Some reviewers have described it as "divey" It may look divey but it is still worthy of a very good rating. We will definitely go back.

OVER PRICED BEER 😡

By Jackie M |

Price of beer in this bar is ridiculous 🙄. There was no atmosphere about this place. Would I return? NEVER sure there are better bars in the area where you will not be ripped off for basic bottles of beer 😡

Great for a nostalgic beer

By RB72 |

I had researched this to visit in Little Italy purely for the fact thot The Sopranos and Godfather had been filmed there. We stopped for a couple of drinks before dinner. We all really liked the atmosphere and feel of the bar , but if nostalgia.

Supper

By FamilyfunfromEdmonto |

The Alfredo was soupy and my son is not feeling well after eating. The vodka pasta sauce had a fairly good flavour but the ravioli was crunchy in spots. The chicken in the Caesar salad seemed like sliced deli chicken fried in a pan. One server was ver gracious and friendly and was a positive to the experience, while another was very indifferent. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant as there seemed to be other competitors on the street that would have been more enjoyable.

Bad experience with shady business practices

By Stephen L |

This place has horrible service, the food was decent. The price on the menu isn't the price you pay because they increase when you get the bill. The menu stated gratuity is included with a party six or more which not true. Even if you're less than six a gratuity 20% will be added. Be ready to pay almost 4% more than what's for no logical explanation. After the lame explanation, ask to speak to the manager and the one who came stated they were in charge. Paying with a Credit Card surcharge is one thing when it's stated but being added to the bill without notice is another. All his reasons were pathetic excuses and to add to the dissatisfaction of the visit, the staff was slow and unresponsive. All their reasons are without merit and do shady business practices. Wouldn't recommend anyone to this establishment. There's so many more good true authentic Italian restaurants in NYC without the shady business practices. If I could give them 0 Stars I would because that's what they deserve. You don't need to waste your time going to this place!!

Felt Unwelcome

By mrsrj661 |

We decided to have lunch here as, from the outside it looked like a very nice bar. We were unaware of the history of the building so found the decor and pictures inside very interesting. The waiter was cold and unfriendly. We were not told the calamaris was a sharing dish so we were glad we ordered just one portion as there was more than enough for two people. The dish was actually very nice although the pizzas we had afterwards were very average for an Italian restaurant in 'Little Italy'. I paid for the meal in cash. The waiter asked me if I wanted the change and I said yes because the bill included the service/gratuity. The manager made it obvious he was unhappy giving me my change.

Pizza Bella is Bella!!

By Deborah G |

Great food, great service. Not a tourist trap. If you are visiting NYC this would be a great stop for authentic food with history thrown in! The place is over 100 years old and the pizza is representative of all thing NY. Located in historic Little Italy, stop here when visiting SOHO, Nolita or Chinatown.

Loved it!

By Ssouthys78 |

We walked by this quaint restaurant in Little Italy and I'm so glad we gave it a shot! The staff was very nice and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the fried mozzarella and garlic knots as appetizers. The pizza was delicious and the bar drinks were yummy too!

Great find

By Craig S |

Walking through Little Italy can be difficult if your hungry so we had to stop for some pizza. Mulberry Street Bar was our choice due to reasonable prices. Server was very polite and fast, pizza was very good and it is a nice looking place. I would have gave 5 stars but the lady bartending was complaining about something so the whole place could hear about it and she was playing hip hop music. Just think it killed the mood in Little Italy.

A must in Little Italy!

By Maria |

Delicious! Friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Everything was perfect! We loved the pizza, pasta dishes and the salads. A/C is a bonus!

Great experience!

By Zack L |

My mom and I stopped here for a beer while deciding on where to eat in Little Italy because it was late kind of late, maybe 9 o’clock or so. The bartender was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area, he even recommended a restaurant for us that rivaled what I was accustomed to while living in Italy. The decor was great, the pictures of family really helped you attain a sense of the history of the bar. We loved the place so much, we came back for another round while we were in the area!

Great pizza and lovely staff

By Les D |

We went back here 3 times as the pizza was so good and wonderful staff especially Larry and the owner Vivian. There was another young lady who was super helpful but can't remember her name. Would have no hesitation recommending this place to any one, can't wait to go back for another pizza.

Recent renovations have removed the charms of an old bar

By seanb8982016 |

This bar/restaurant has been here for many decades and was one of the very few bars that retained their original features beautiful back bar original tile floor, and even a phone kiosk. I recently visited and was disappointed to see that much of what made this a classic old bar is gone. Too bad.

AWESOME EVERYTHING! A MUST STOP

By Tlmoyer |

Great garlic knots and sauce, fantastic pizza, great service and great decor. Just stop here, you won't regret it!!

Fantastic, authentic experience.

By PJJK |

Thoroughly enjoyed our pasta meal at ths establishment. Staff were so friendly, it was like eating at a family members house. Lots of memorabilia on the walls which added to the experience. The best meal we had during our stay in Manhattan.

Excellent

By B B |

After having lunch it's really unclear why this is called a "bar". It's actually a very good family style restaurant with excellent fresh pasta, warm service and the best garlic bread (garlic knots) I've ever had. Pricing is fair and the atmosphere is overall very welcoming.

You need to be hungry to eat the 16" pizza

By Suzanne C |

Friendly welcome, this place was recommended by a guy at a restaurant down the street as not everyone serves pizza in Little Italy. Freshly made pizza which was very tasty. The large pizzas were very large.

Get the pizza

By Kristin S |

Small dive bar, with really good pizza. Also, you might get lucky and hear some of the old-timers sing spot-on karaoke to Sinatra and Martin.

Tired, must do better

By Nick C |

This place has a rich history as a mob meeting place and hosting Sopranos/Godfather3/Donny Brasco but feels tired and complacent. Look at the photos in the window and it says it all. Pretty indifferent welcome and service. Didn’t eat here but if you’re considering the Guinness give it a miss. Shame, could do so much better.

The oldest bar in little Italy and one of the oldest in the city

By McG_Road_Warrior |

Maybe because I hit this place up on Halloween weekend I didn't have a good time. It's not the right place for that. There is a real old America Italian feel here. Perhaps it's best to drop for some grappa and old school charm. The clientele do seem to be of an older age as well. The wait staff was really nice to us. I will have to go back when I'm out and looking for an easy going night.

Nasty owner

By PeterG1612 |

We were 7 of us. Unfortunately my little son don’t eat pizza or pasta. We got him Mc .Donald’s, Vivian the owner told us that she will not though him out because he brought outside food because he is a minor. RUDE VERY RUDE HUMAN BEING. Them she trash us out all the way. NASTY NASTY PERSON. Customers that was waiting for table left the restaurant and employees were apologizing all the time. If you would like to be treated kind, This place should be out of you radar.

Must see for mafia movie fans

By Thehungrytraveller99 |

There is nothing spectacular about the bar itself, however, if you're a mafia movie fan you can sit at the same bar stool as Johnny Depp in the movie Donnie Brasco where he first meets Lefty Ruggerio(Al Pacino). Sit, have an ice cold beer and look out the door window where Lefty looked in

WORST SERVICE ever and I live in Beijing, China

By Daniel A |

Who cares about the history. I'll remember the history of the worst ever service my wife and I endured as we walked around Little Italy trying to get a real sense of Italian food. We were glad they were open close to the holidays but after the service we received, I wish they would’ve been closed. There weren’t that many tables to begin with and we had to wait to sit down. We could’ve sat down outside but they didn’t tell us that until it was our turn to sit. We ordered the Italian nachos, calzone, and spaghetti. I thought it was going to be delicious since it was in Little Italy but I could have done better with a bottle of Prego. The sauce was watered down and we asked for some tabasco or something similar and even the water we asked for never came. When they came for the bill, I said I’d like a glass of water first as I never got one refill from their tiny plastic cup. They said pay first. I asked kindly for the water first and they still wanted their money first! It was unbelievable! Horrible service, horrible food and they even added a service fee for their service which they didn’t provide. Why was it mandatory I pay a tip for service I didn't receive? Please don’t visit this restaurant as there are many other places to eat.

Cheap, good pizza

By Alex P |

Yummy pizza, quick, friendly service. Bar to wait at if they are busy, abit cramped, but I didn't mind! I'll be back here for sure!

Good short stop for drinks

By Emily P |

Located in little italy in a busy bustling street with a great atmosphere. Drinks were great, reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Would recommend as a stop off.

Good but wouldn’t rush back

By chris e |

This place is easy to find right at the start of Little Italy. It was a recommendation from a friend and as seen on the Sopranos! Total Bill $220 included tip. My two big teenagers each ordered 16” pizzas that they finished! This is a really authentic restaurant and cigar bar, although nobody was smoking inside obviously. I ordered rigatoni bolegnese and to be honest it was bland. I could have made it tastier myself!!! That was $26 too!! Wife ordered Lobster ravioli which she said was lovely. We also ordered a Carafe of house red which was palatable. I had a pint of miller too and the lads had diet cokes. Eldest was gutted cos he couldn’t have a beer anywhere only being 18!! We Enjoyed it and the rest of little Italy too but I’m sure you’ll find nicer ones further into the street.

Thumbs Up

By Jeremy W |

Made a visit to one of Tony Soprano’s favorite bar/restaurants in Little Italy - NYC and enjoyed the food and service there. We particularly enjoyed the old style environment, pictures, the old phone booth and other historic items displayed.

WE WERE INSCRIBED AND INSULTED BY THE OWNER OR WAITER

By Olga |

My husband took me to eat at this restaurant because he had read that it was good. While I was taking some photos of the front of the store, as I remember, my husband asked the person inside if he spoke Spanish or Italian, since he does not speak English. After a few seconds he came out and told me that the waiter had pushed him out. I thought there must have been a misunderstanding, so I turned to him at the door and asked him in English if we could eat. He showed us in and upon entering we saw that there were only 2 tables occupied. We were not convinced because the rest of the restaurants were full, and it did not give us a good feeling, even more so after how she had treated my husband. We turned around and I told him in English: Thank you, we're leaving. To which he replied in English: “Thank you for nothing. Thank you for making me waste my time.” I went so far as to answer him, but then he insulted me, telling me that I was a bad person. Then I turned around and answered: and you are an stupid. Then the two waiters started yelling at me, I didn't want to hear what they were saying, but it seemed like disgraceful treatment towards customers. It doesn't surprise me that they had it empty, because in addition, all this happened in front of the small audience that they had eating at that time in their premises. I have never felt so badly treated and especially for nothing. People like this should not be in front of the public, because they will unfortunately ruin the business.

That's a beautiful thing.....

By Aidzilla |

My girlfriend and I visited her just wandering past and were very welcome. Beer was excellent, serving staff were helpful and very nice and the pizza...... Forgeddaboudit. Highly recommended for any Donnie Brasco fans

You MUST go here!

By vmsweeney |

An authentic piece of the old Little Italy- the atmosphere can't be beat! We had appetizers-calamari, meatballs, and breaded fried cheese- all delicious. Staff is friendly and we were served very quickly. Look for Camille if you want to hear great stories about both the bar/restaurant's history, and tales of living in Little Italy. Say hello to her husband Eddie in his seat at the end of the bar-what a great guy! It was like spending the time with your family. We will definitely go back.

Awesome Pizza

By Claude H |

Friendly and professional Service, excellent Pizza with nice, fresh Ingredients, and the Price for the Food is more than ok

Best food

By RobW |

Best food in little Italy. Very good pricing and heaps of food on the plates! We made the mistake and ordered too many entrees and came out very full! Worth the visit!

Amazing nostalgia

By WayneMad |

This little bar restaurant is so traditional and authentic Italian. The whole vibe and decor are perfect.we had some beers and didn't want a big meal so we ordered four sides to snack on and they were freshly cooked and delicious especially the garlic knots. We were there at about 1pm but would love to go back for an evening meal sometime.recommended for sure ...lots of memorabilia on walls and lots of famous people have visited including old blue eyes himself...wowzer...

Pizza and football

By Cathy G |

We wanted to eat pizza and also watch football in the little Italy This place was perfect. The pizza was just what you expect in New York and plenty of TVs

A local you wished to had.

By moleandbird |

We arrived in NYC after a long flight and found ourselves here having a beer! They have a good selection of beers and good traditional pizzas and pastas! When you just want a reliable, good value feed then this is the place. The carbonara and spaghetti meatballs were solid and filling. Be back for a beer later.

Awful customer service and dishonest bill

By Dana H |

First of all, at this restaurant Italian is only the name, the employees, attitude and food is not Italian! They have a sign outside for “Happy Hour” which is not honored. Why place the sign? Bait and switch! The waiter Nestor was very abrupt when we asked about the Happy Hour. The food: a pepperoni pizza and a lasagna were mediocre, speaking from the point of view of people who traveled the world and tasted real Italian food. The bill had a surcharge of 18% and a credit card charge even if I intended to pay cash. Placing the tip on the bill is theft, you earn it, you do not “ insert” your hand in my pocket. I decide if you deserve a tip, and how much you deserve, not YOU as a waiter! I asked the waiter to remove the tip, he started to be belligerent and telling me that this is the law in NY. Really, being a server makes you an expert in law?! I requested the tip removed, after being asked where I live and lying to me that this is the law in US. After the bill was corrected I was told to pay and leave! Is not your business where I live. I know the law and you can’t trick me how you are doing with other customers. My free tip for you: you are awful! I am tipping for extra polite server, extra tasty food, and great atmosphere. Your restaurant doesn’t offer any of these, plus the Spanish language speaking all over doesn’t replace Italian language! I wonder who wrote some of the reviews, you don’t deserve customers: New Yorkers or foreigners! You are a shame to the restaurant business! You better be sure that our family and friends are warned about you and will never make the mistake of being in this restaurant. Let the Italians be in Little Italy, you do not belong here!

Always Good Pizza

By ITravelAlot8 |

We love the atmosphere and the pizza. Try the garlic knots. Avoid the mulberry Street ale it’s not good

Good pizza

By Jovy R |

I'm always skeptical about places in NYC. However, the pizza we order was delicious and the sangria was very tasty.

Delicious pizza

By miss-b20 |

We didn't know this was a highly recommended place to go until after we'd been, however walking through little Italy, it just looked friendly and unpretentious. The garlic knots and pizza www yummy. I had some salad too. Staff were nice and checked we were OK regularly. I'd definitely revisit because of the nice food and vibe.

Authentic New York bar In Little Italy

By Hils21 |

Full of history...not touristy just a bar doing what it does..serving beer and pizzas...very New York. Loved the atmosphere...ok..food not brilliant but the friendly New York-ness was brilliant. Further down the street we got full respect from other eatery's when they stopped us and asked if we were looking for somewhere to eat and we said we had just been the Mulberry St Bar...

this is THE place to showcase how awesome italian food from NY is!!!!

By sunny d |

I am a native new Yorker (upstate) and couldn't wait to show my Florida guy why Italian food is so good up here. We went there for the first time Oct 2012 and thought it looks like a nice place for dinner. We had the penne vodka (yum) and the pizza margarita--get the upgraded one you won't regret it!! After that meal he agreed that pizza was the best he's ever had. We were talking to a gentleman at the bar and telling him how delicious everything was and offered him some of our food. He declined but thanked us. On our way out he asked how everything was and we raved about it. He told us he was the owner (Eddie)!! When we came back to NY we brought our son and we ordered the same meal plus the eggplant rollatini (yum again). He even agreed that was the best pizza ever! The owner arrived during our meal and we told him about our last visit. He was thrilled we remembered. Our waitress was a total doll. The music was fun and there were guys at the bar singing along. It was a really festive atmosphere. I recommend anyone who loves Italian food to go to this place. You won't be disappointed!!

Good but expensive

By Dario 79 |

Prices above average without taking anything away from the quality of the food, the freshness of the food and the friendliness and kindness of the owners..excellent mozzarella with tomatoes and fried calamari..place well located in the little Italy district..

A piece of Movie/TV history

By Doorbar |

A must stop for any visit to Little Italy! I have never eaten here so can’t comment on food but, it’s a good place to stop for a pint. The bar has been used in many Soprano episodes as well as Donnie Brasco, The Godfather and many more! Very friendly atmosphere!

Good service, good food

By Yuli P |

We went there just passing by and as we had to wait less than other restaurants, we decided to joined it and never regretted it. Is a nice place and even we took the order in the bar, it was really fast and delicious. We recommend to try italian wines and the Margarita Pizza. Also, don't forget to order an italian gellato.

Mother's Day disappointment

By Mike L |

Where do I begin? While food remains good, service has taken a back seat. Not sure if management failed to staff properly but service was absolutely sub-par. But then again this seems an ongoing malady even on the taul end of COVID. To add insult to injury our server added a mandatory 20% tip, for a party of two? Looked at the menu and saw nothing for mandatory 20%!

Famous place and great pizza!

By Elisa |

The waitress was very nice and we liked the atmosphere of the bar. This bar appeared in some famous series and movies such as The Sopranos, Donnie Brasco and Law & Order. Plus it's been visited by famous celebrities, for example, Johnny Deep. You can see their pictures on the walls and windows. During our visit we managed to meet an American famous actor. We had a fantastic cheese and spinach pizza, the small one for me would be a medium size pizza. Together with a Goose IPA beer, it was enough for two of us. Mind the IPA is quite a strong ale. Serving was quick and we had lunch inside and finished up our drinks in the outside terrace. Not pricey at all.

My son Anthony and I came here from Delaware

By Katie D |

Hello, My name is Katie Divirgilio and my son Anthony and I came to NY City on January 27th and 28th weekend because we both are going through some personal things. My son Anthony 28 years old and comes to the city often for modeling so he knows a lot of the good places and he wanted to take me to your place because it's very comfortable , good food, and very friendly people. We actually ended up going here both nights friday and Saturday and my son loves to play the Juke box and just relax, while eating wonderful food and having his pickle drinks.......lol, anyway I was very happy we went and the owner I'm not sure but he I guess liked our happiness and how we really enjoyed our time sent us both a drink on the house, which was so nice I don't know when we will be back to see you do to finances , but as soon as we can I can't wait because this is the kind of authentic cuisine and atmosphere, me and my son love....... Thank you so much Kathleen Divirgilio Anthony Divirgilio

Classic vintage bar atmosphere with great food……

By Emily D |

I love the old-time feeling and look of this famous place, but the food is what brings me back every Saturday with a few weekday visits thrown in. Many great dishes to choose from: pastas, chicken and fish specialties…..always hard to choose which one I want….delicious pizza and burgers. I’ve truly never been disappointed with whatever I chose to eat. Full bar, delicious frozen drinks, great Irish Coffee!

If you are a Soprano's fan then this is a must do

By Wrighty-Bath |

Not changed since the opening sequence of Goodfellas, Soprano's fans will love it and even if you're not enlightened then the beer is good, cold and a the pavement tables are a great place to sit and watch the world go by

You can feel the history in the walls

By Megan J |

We loved our experience of Little Italy in this classic historical bar. Waiting staff were a little disorganised, but the barman was great and really helpful. Wonderful selection of drinks and beers and the food was exceptional and pretty good value for NY. Up there with the best Italian food I've had! Your surrounded by history in this little bar and feel the presence of all the celebrities that have graced this venue through the signed photos on the walls. Beware: the toilets aren't pretty though!

Awesome pizza

By michelle r |

We were in little Italy not ready for dinner but hungry enough for a snack, just happened to walk by this place and so glad we stopped. The pizza was amazing!!! Great food, clean, good service and very Italian, I loved it!

Karaoke surprise

By Elain F |

Just stopped in for a quiet beer as looked inviting. Not long after karaoke started up which isn't really my cup of tea to be honest but man could the boys hold a tune! Exactly what you would hope to stumble upon in little Italy. Party of girls in town for a birthday treated to serenades and great humoured flirting. Made our night to watch as well as theirs to be honest :-). Bar it turns out has featured in many film and TV show and it is easy to see why. Can't comment on the food but the beer was good, the barman was great and the group of friends who have been coming once a week for years made me wish it was my local too. Atmosphere was fantastic and old time rat pack style songs just perfect for the venue. Singers fun and enthusiasm infectious. A perfect bar that shouts from the roof tops you are in New York. Fabulous!

Mother and daughter NYC annual trip

By CB |

There is nothing bad to say about this restaurant... Love the drinks, great bar tender, amazing appetizers... Atmosphere was wonderful ...

You have GOT TO come here.

By DNezmo |

Had the best night (and it was our last night too) here. Karaoke. EVERYONE had a great time. Drinks were reasonable. Everyone was really friendly. It was a couple of people's birthday so they passed round the cake! Yummy. Just a great atmosphere and a great night out.

Authentic and good value

By Amelia C |

Visited with a group of friends and they were really accommodating to put a table together for 10 of us. The ordering was quick and easy. Getting our food took a while but we were a large group and it was all done fresh so completely understandable and worth it. The pizza is almost definitely their specialty, any of them. It was crispy, blackened on the edges from the pizza oven and perfect thickness with the right amount of toppings. The toppings were generous and very fresh, especially on the vegetarian one. Just one note is dairy/lactose-free or vegan - double check about cheese on the pizza, the Quattro Stagione doesn't list mozzarella on the menu but it does come with it on which lead to a large pile of cheese being left on the plate. The portions are generous but you can take leftovers away like the majority of places in the USA.

Great friendly bar

By Callnic |

Popped in for a quick drink on the way home...stayed for lunch and more drinks! Great music by ?Camille and she has just the right attitude to make this place not just a quick stop. The food however was only average, the drinks and atmosphere fabulous for a Sunday afternoon...

Terrible service

The bartender is the most rude person I have ever met behind a bar! And this is coming from a person who owns a bar. When I thanked him for a drink he got insulted!! Who does that? He got mad at my pregnant friend only wanted water! On a street with 100's of bars they really should not treat paying customer, especially with a group for 20 paying customers, with such disrespect.

Decent Pizza

By Tiffany C |

We wondered to this bar after being overwhelmed with all of the options in Little Italy and it offered relief from the heat. We ordered pizza and was quite pleased. I didn't order any of the local beer, and we had pretty decent service. You can expect much from a small bar.

uThe only good thing about Mulberry is reasonable house wind

By Trine E |

The pizza dough was proper Italian, but the rest of the pizza piccolo diavolo, was a disaster. They had added prosciutto, which was old and stale, so we had to ask for a new pizza without ham. Pizza Diavola has no ham, anyway, so it didn’t matter much. Worse was the fact that that the salsiccia was not piccante, and that they had added peppers normally associated with kebab. To top it off, the restroom was without toilet paper, and they automatically added 18% tip to the bill. Stay clear of Mulberry!

Mob heaven!!!

Came across this small bar walking Little Italy, First of all, it's an iconic bar as it has staged so many films, inside they have a list of what has been filmed there . . . Godfather 3, Soprano's, Donnie Brasco etc etc Small but brilliant atmosphere and both the food and service are excellent.

Good pizza

A good place to have a good pizza in the little Italy. Fast service and not too crowded during the day.

No good pizza

Too much cheese on the pizza and soggy. Its for tourist that want to spend their money there. I'm pretty sure there is something better in new york.

Authentic setting, friendly atmosphere and fantastic pizza!

Wandered into this gem today! Lovely pizza but we got much more than that - got chatting to camille outside after our meal and she sat us back down again to tell us about the impressive history of the place. Definitely recommend popping in here for a quick bite and a look around

Nothing special- high prices

By CatamX |

We had calzone and pasta. Calzone tasted like chewing gum, pasta overcooked. Bad service and high prices. There are better places to eat in this area.

Cool Place

The bar is loud but the pizza is great. Try the garlic knots and the classic with pepperoni or sweet sausage. Good place and good value.

Great place for a couple of pints

By Gary Q |

The Mulberry Street Bar is a great place to stop in and have a few drinks or pints in the middle of the afternoon or later in the evening. Prices are reasonable. They make a nice pizza. Its a no fuss place. I always enjoy stopping in.

OK restaurant. Not bad, not great

Stopped here for a meatball sub. It was an ok place although nothing to write home about. There was nothing bad in particular. It was pretty basic and friendly enough service.

Excellent bar

Mulberry Street Bar is a super bar in little Italy. Basic in many ways but perfectly great. Good service and nice wines. Recommended.

Friendly neighbourhood bar

After a walk around Little Italy and Chinatown it took us a while to find a place that was primarily a bar and not a restaurant serving alcohol. Service here good. Beer cool and prices reasonable. Did not eat here but gazed in envy at the group next to us smashing in a huge pizza. Staff friendly and welcoming. Recommended

Italian feel in the heart of NYC

Situated in the heart of Little Italy. The best pizza I have ever had. Simple yet very tasty. Great Italian beer. Also its little celebrity spot - Sam Smith was filming his video there!!

Rip off

The pizza was great! The pasta, ok. But when my bank statement came, they charged me more than I authorized. Tried calling and number listed is incorrect. Not happy.

Pizza what else could you want?

If you are in NYC make your way to little Italy and get you some of the best pizza in the city. Mulberry Street Bar simply is such a great place to eat and soak up some of the history of film and television that was filmed on location there.

Loved the atmoshpere

By Jalynn74 |

This bar was full of character, and we learned after we left that several movies had been filmed there. The food was really good, we got the chicken parmigiana. My husband did order bread with his and it wasn't served until he had almost finished his meal. Our waiter wasn't real friendly and I couldn't help but notices the hickies on his neck.

Nice place, good beer, good pizza and good staff !!!

The place is very nice with a great history. The staff is very kind and helpful, the pizza is excellent and the prices are good!!

Don't waste your time

Stopped here as part of the oldest bars in NYC pub crawl. The only thing special about this place is that it is old. It is small and nothing is appealing in the place. The pizza we had was good but we were starving. Take it off the list.

Most authentic meal during our stay

By George C |

Are you talking to me? The Sopranos filmed scenes here - so wasn't sure if this would be a real touristy attraction or a genuine bar/restaurant. This turned out to be a great traditional New York bar/restaurant in Little Italy. Went with our daughters - 14 and 16 , not sure if they would like it - they loved it. There's a bar accommodating the locals with tables in front- it's like walking into the 70's -it is what it is - no airs and graces - proper classic Americana . A plate of calamari like you've never seen it - could have fed all 4 of us. Spaghetti with meatballs. I've heard that traditionally, it's saved with just enough sauce to coat the spaghetti and that's exactly what it was - and it was delicious. Friendly server and reasonably priced drinks - can't recommend enough - the Ritz it isn't - if you visit with an open mind, you'll love it.

Just a great fun place

The line ups show its the place to stop at. Service is a 10 food a 10. Just feel like you are at home here. Prices are amazing. I will definitely go back here again. I want to try everything on the menu.

Good People Watching Spot

By Trent T |

We sat on the patio and had a few cold drinks and people watched. The pizza rolls stuffed with sausage are delicious and comes with a marinara sauce. I loved these treats.
