Came here for lunch Sunday—luckily it was just a short wait. Highly recommend the Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumplings and the Truffle & Pork Soup Dumplings—it’s so good! For veggies, the Cucumber Salad with Garlic is tasty—also tried the Stir-Fried Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce but didn’t enjoy it, it was very bland. Would definitely come back for their soup dumplings!

Local that offers Chinese cuisine specializing in dumpling, repeatedly reported by the Michelin guide, well organized, welcome and service ok, nice menu, varied, pleasant, you feel good, great food, I would say everything very well, it is one of those places to recommend not to go wrong...

We were recommended this restaurant by some friends and we’re on the fence about it but so glad we went! We ordered a little bit of everything and shared and all 6 of us thought it was incredible. Noticeable mentions are the pork and vegetable wontons in the spicy peanut sauce, the spicy bamboo shoots, any of the soup dumplings, and definitely get some tea! We were stuffed but wish we could have ordered more.

The restaurant has escaped par excellence: music at a deafening level, unkind staff, poor quality dish. I have been to Asia a lot and I do not understand how this type of establishment can be – so to speak – always recommended by the Michelin guide. It would appear that the recommendation was from 2017.... Anyway, run away.

Fast service, new and well-kept place. The dishes are good and the value for money is honest. The only flaw was the music being too loud

Very good dim sum restaurant in the center of Manhattan. Dumplings in various variations, but also soups, vegetables and meat dishes. No wine list.

Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao is perfect for a family meal—clean, welcoming, and consistently delicious. The soup dumplings are outstanding, with delicate wrappers and rich, flavorful broth in every bite.

Delightfully new tastes for us. Never knew that Durian becomes custard when hot. Soup dumplings are fun and fantastic! Spare ribs - completely different taste, tender & delicious. You should eat here!

Tired of the zillion Dim Sum Restaurants in Manhattan and Korean BBQs? Time to try soup dumplings at Nan Xiang Xiao. You will be spooky for choice - however my advice would be not to stick to the regular sea food and pork dumplings - but try some of the interesting vegetarian dumplings - with Bamboo Shoots, Tofu and Sea Weed.

More than recommended place, different and with a very pointed attention. Both chicken soup and dumplings are truly spectacular, well-crafted and very good in taste, presentation and quality. Right in front of the great Empire State! And at prices that to be US in the city is more than good. Nine times recognized consecutively by the michelin guide so there's only left, come and enjoy, no doubt, I'll repeat!

Why go to Chinatown? The vegetable soup dumplings were delicious. Prices are reasonable. Service is good. There can be a short wait at popular times. I particularly appreciated the instructions on eating them, and the supplies for DIY dipping sauce: slivered ginger; chili oil; vinegar; soy sauce. In case soup dumplings aren’t your thing, there are many additional items on the menu.

Great location in midtown. This restaurant has been here for less than a year. A variety of soup dumplings are offered. My order of pork soup dumplings had thick skins, uneven hot broth inside and little flavor. The scallion pancakes were deep fried and tasteless. The vegetable spring rolls was the star. Over priced at $11 for the dumplings. The clientele was mostly non Asian which to me is a red signal. The hunt continues for stellar soup dumplings.

The soup dumplings are wonderful. We had the Lucky 6 mixed dumplings and the truffle dumplings. Both were delicious! We also had Chicken & Shrimp Siu Mai, red bean puffs and other delights. The service was very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. This restaurant was so good that we went back a second time during our visits to NYC. Highly recommend.

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings in Manhattan offers delicious, authentic soup dumplings with rich, flavorful broth. Quick service, cozy ambiance, and must-try dumplings make it a NYC favorite!

Good food, quick service, good prices. Overall we had a good experience. We enjoyed our lunch. Would recommend for a quick bite.

We ordered two trays of the Lucky 6 Soup dumplings but the waitress was careless and misheard the quantity as one order. As a result we had to wait extra and food takes a while to get to the table. Service was very meh. The Lucky 6 soup dumplings were flavors of Original, Chicken, Scallop, Gourd luffa, crab meat & pork, and black truffle. These came with thicker skin and were of a larger size. I’ve heard this style is more to cater to the American taste. At its price point it leans more expensive and was just OK.

This place has Great food, nice staff and good prices. This is a good restaurant for large groups as the food portions are very large.

It is amazing, the food, the dumplings. It's so good. You should definitely try this.It should be long in the president's room!!!

Went for the soup dumplings, came away disappointed. All we could taste was the peanut oil - it overtook all the other flavours. They are touting Michelin-recommendations that, from the certificates on the wall, they haven't received since c2016. We've eaten a lot of xiao long bao IN Shanghai and they never tasted like this. Won't be back.

Top quality soup bun and great value for the food. The other small plates are good options as well. It is rare to find sticky rice wrapped donuts in Manhattan and there is so delicious. Will definitely come back.

I was craving Xiao Long Bao (the famous soup dumplings) and I did a search online about this place, so I went to checked it out. Good location in Manhattan, you can watch from the restaurant windows how they make the dumplings. Interiors were nice and the restaurant is clean. I ordered some signature pork soup dumplings, some vegetables dumplings, egg fried rice, seafood crispy noodles and garlic bok choy. I expected the dumplings skin to be thinner but the flavor was very good. The fried rice and the crispy noodles were excellent, delicate flavor and not greasy like many Chinese restaurants. Thumbs-up for this restaurant, I enjoyed the food very much and the prices were reasonable.

OMG, a wonderful experience for dinner, we shared a mix of dim sum that included various soup dumplings, fried dumping, and rolls. The soup dumplings are fun to eat and very tasty.

We had lunch at this restaurant when we were in Korea Town. Great and open premises, pleasant service. There were generous portions and good food. The price level was also very good! Recommend a visit here❤️

The service was great and we ordered steamed vegetable dumplings, they were great! Highly recommend. Overall good price for how much you get

Amazing dumplings - some of the best I've had and I've had them all over the world. Their soup dumplings which they are known for live up to their reputation.

So I eat at nan Xiang once or twice in a typical week. The first time I went there was when the only restaurant was the one in Flushing. A friend of mine and I had flown into JFK, and it was about 11 pm by the time we got out of parking, and we were frantically googling “best restaurants open late queens”. Honestly we were just happy to find a restaurant that was open, but we came in with very low expectations. It took about 5 minutes for us to realize that every dumpling we’d ordered was the best version of that particular type of dumpling that either of us had ever had. These truly are the best dumplings in New York and the Manhattan outposts are just as good as the original shop.

Original and original. Lots of local Asians go there and you can ask them how the soup dumplings are eaten. A special experience and very tasty. My husband had the chicken soup - you have to be prepared for the chicken to be chopped up and there to be sharp bones everywhere.

I’m from shanghai. The restaurant provides very authentic Shanghainese dim sum, which almost made me cry. It’s so not easy to have home food when travelling abroad. Good value for money. Food and restaurant is both very clean.
Good, nothing extraordinary
My wife and I and our kids ate here. I have been trying to make it here after reading all the great reviews. The experience was fine- the food was good, something things better than others but I don’t think it warrants all the buzz and I certainly wouldn’t wait a long time for a seat here. This location does not take reservations and luckily we were seated promptly. We had the chicken soup dumplings and the vegetable soup dumplings as well as some other dishes. The vegetable soup dumplings were fine- dominated by spinach so tasted a little like a spanakopita to me, and I did appreciate that there was a vegetarian soup dumpling on offer. The chicken soup dumplings were a little disappointing. I didn’t care so much for the texture of the chicken. I knew something was up as my kids usually fight over how many dumplings each one gets and this time there were several leftovers. My favorite thing that I ate was a pressed tofu and Chinese celery dish which was not anything like I’ve had before. Staff was prompt and courteous. Overall slightly disappointed and there are other similar restaurants we liked better.
