A good ramen joint on the upper west side. Authentic and nicely prepared ramen bowls with fresh ingredients. I like the miso broth best. Get some extra roast pork...deelish!

Wanting something light to munch on, we happen pond Naruto Ramen. It sounded like the perfect fare as I wanted some soup and I love noodles. The place is small and packed. 6 tables and a long bar for 8 patrons. Most were having ramen with others ordering dishes. I really wanted ramen and there was quite a selection of ramen to choose from. I stuck with the regular Naruto Ramen with a chicken breast. Hubby wanted some gyoza potstickers. The gyoza came first and he enjoyed the pork issued. The ramen was chewy and broth was tasty. The Naruto comes with egg, onions, chicken breast or beef, bamboo shoots, fish cake, bean sprouts, ramen and broth. All were good. Prices are reasonable and the steady amount of customers coming in is a testament to their food. .

As a ramen virgin, I had no idea what to expect or what ramen was but my husband insisted we try some whilst in NY. We chose Naruto Ramen based on the reviews and weren't disappointed. The staff were great, explained anything we were unsure about and we got to watch the chefs as we waited. The food was amazing - so much flavour and huge portions. Total bill came to less than $40 so really good value.

Selected and exquisite ramen in a small but funny place. Good service, fresh ingredients and large plates. I recommend it.

We had two ramens and one plate of spicy edamame to share. It was really really good! Very tasty and spicy the way we liked it! We highly recommend it!

I found Naruto Ramen while on a walk this evening and I decided yes this is what I want tonight. The restaurant is a cozy little place and when I arrived at 7pm it was a little busy. I sat at the bar and ordered the signature dish of Naruto ramen and I was very happy with the size and flavour. I had it with the pork and the pork was soft and delicious. The noodles were cook right not to soggy and I had a side of pickled octopus. I was happy with the price, soup, side and a can of drink for under $20. I definitely recommend this little restaurant and if it is busy, I would still wait for a place to sit.

Small, but worth the wait! Not much seating here, but the food made that an afterthought! My daughter and I enjoyed the pork buns, the gyoza pork dumplings and the fried chicken cutlet curry ramen! Everything was delicious!

This place opened a month ago (or thereabouts) and I have passed it a few times. On an unseasonably cold/windy night, it sounded like a good idea and didn't disappoint. The bowl of vegetarian ramen was quite tasty and filling; the service was prompt and pleasant --- and the price was reasonable. Nice to have yet another ethnic alternative in our Upper Westside Neighborhood.

Good ramen. However, the edamames ordered on the side as an entree looked really weird and brown and were not served with sea salt. I still recommend although the experience really was quite average compared to other ramen. The staff was friendly.

This place has delicious ramen! I have the veggie miso ramen, but others have told me the pork broth is also excellent. One of the best in NYC, and lucky that it is near me! (It rivals the famous Ippudo.) They are nice people and a fun atmosphere, but it's small, there is usually a wait, and the chairs aren't the most comfy, but hey, you're not here for lounging. It's so worth a good bowl of their ramen, especially in the winter!

This quaint six-table noodle shop with bar has become my favorite noodle place, not just because it's an easy walk, but more for the consistency of experience. The steady Asian clientele can attest to Naruto's authenticity. It's very Japanese, from the pop decor to J-pop music. The prices are very reasonable. The pork buns are a winner for sharing. I usually go for the Spicy Naruto Ramen, but on the rare occasion, I'll challenge myself with the Mega bowl. You won't leave hungry.

DRINKS: They have canned & bottled Japanese Beer. Better than no JP beer but wish they had draft beer. SERVICE: OK DECOR/ATMOSPHERE: They've kicked it up a notch with Toto Washlet in the bathroom. Amen! FOOD/PRICE: Been to UES Naruto and had Tan Tan Noodles there. I remember liking it very much but was just ok when I had it on UWS location. I had their regular ramen this time around. Nothing spectacular but I'd prolly go back given there are so few ramen places with reasonable price on UWS.

We weren't impressed with our visit to Naruto Ramen. As others have said the decor is fun, it's a nice space if small, and the staff was friendly. We didn't have to wait to be seated...but we had to wait afterwards. After putting in our order, we ended up waiting at least 20 minutes for two bowls of ramen - nothing fancy, no deviations from the menu, and there were only 8 people total in the restaurant. When the ramen arrived, it was a good portion size, but the broth was greasy and the pork had an oddly sweet flavor that made the rest of the dish taste sweet as well. We left feeling disappointed with our experience. If you like okay ramen for a relatively low price and a large portion, this is fine - but if you want good ramen and don't want to wait ages to get your food, there are so many other ramen places in New York! We won't be back.

A very Nice place to relax from out of the cold and eat a nice warm delicious meal with family or friends

Waitresses were both welcoming and efficient -- even during a busy night. It's small but who would go to a cavernous ramen place! Gyozas smaller than most but much tastier. Spicy ramens excellent on a chilly night. Normal ones need more patience in the cooking water but still better than most. About time there was a decent ramen place on the UWS.

There are many places in the city to get a better ramen broth, but as for the noodles themselves, this chain offers reliably chewy and fresh tasting strands. Prices are no more than you would expect to pay in the city and despite the demand for tables, you can waltz in without a reservation—which is good, because what Naruto offers is a reliable standard bowl of what has certainly become an urban staple.

My wife (Japanese) and I stopped in for a late dinner on a Saturday night. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. We shared some gyoza, fried rice and sake and then both had the Naruto Ramen. Everything was well-prepared, tasty and filling. The bill came to $41. We very much preferred it to the other UWS ramen house, Jin Ramen and will definitely return here.

Seating is limited. Food is just okay as far as taste and size. Bowl of ramen comes with pork, bean sprouts, egg. Soy based soup is nothing special. Dumplings are tasty but small.

I was really please with the Tan-Tan Ramen. It was just a little spicy and very filling. And my dinner guest had Teriyaki Chicken, which was even largely and very well-prepared. The service is excellent to, in addition to the prices being really reasonable for the Upper West Side.

The wait staff are very attentive and the food is excellent quality, great place just to drop in and hopefully grab a table.
More Ramen please!
Decided to drop by for lunch today (Sunday afternoon) to try the Veggie ramen dish. The restaurant is small but I got there at a time where no wait for seating. I opted to sit at the 'bar' type area which gave me a birds eye view of the cooks. They worked flawlessly to cook various delicious looking dishes. Overall, my dish was filling. It was a good portion. I think I'll treat myself to a 'meat' version of ramen noodles next time because the broth is way different than the vegetarian one. Total damage, not including tip: $13 I'm not a pro when it comes to the ins and out of Ramen dishes but here's my break down: Customer service: 5/5 - Friendly and nice. Soup: 5/5 - Very cool vegetarian broth Noodles: 4/5 - Yummy, tickle my tummy Noodle density: Unknown. I was hungry so it was very edible to me. Toppings: 5/5 Temperature: 5/5 - Perfecto. It came right off the stove. I'll be back to try a 'traditional' version of ramen noodles the next time I swing by. Cheers!
